Anybody ready for the word today?

>> All right, if you're ready for the word,

jump to your feet. Just find the book of

Acts. We're going to hang out there for

a little while today. If you haven't

been with us over the past month,

welcome to the series finale of Carriers

of the Flame. Amen. I'm excited.

We've heard some powerful messages, some

powerful challenges,

some in-depth study and teaching. And I

believe today God's given me the

assignment to put a bow on this. And

here's what I'm going to tell you. My

heart is to give as much room for the

Holy Spirit to breathe at the end of

this service as I possibly can. I'm

going to deliver what I feel like I need

to to get us to the place where we can

receive. But if you came today saying,

"I believe today I'm going to get

baptized in the Holy Ghost." Today is

your day in Jesus name. Come on,

somebody. Come on. I know you're holding

Bibles, but how many you say, "Glory!"

>> All right, you say, "Pastor, I've been

baptized in the Holy Ghost before, but

man, it's been a while since I've spoke

in tongues." Today is your day.

>> And I'm not talking about just in a

sanctuary. When you get home, you going

to pray over your house and you going to

start letting it flow out of you and

there's going to be a Holy Ghost

explosion in your home.

Hello.

>> Maybe we need to extend the series. Go

one more week. I can preach about that.

But I believe God has got something for

somebody in the house today.

>> So, Acts chapter 2, Acts, uh, yeah,

Acts 2 · chapter mention

we're going to go later in the chapter,

then we're going to back up in the

chapter, and then Acts chapter 19. So,

Acts 19 · chapter mention

Acts chapter 2, verse 38, when you get

Acts 2:38

there, say, I got it.

You guys are good. The Bible says, "Then

Peter said to them,"Repent and let every

one of you be baptized in the name of

Jesus Christ for the remission of sin,

and you shall receive the gift of the

Holy Spirit." Verse 39, watch this. For

the promise is to you. Everybody say,

"That's me."

>> That's me.

>> Oh yeah. But watch this. The promise is

to you and your children. Mhm.

>> How many say, "Pastor, I'm believing for

some children to get saved." Come on.

Oh, yeah. Well, let me raise that. Raise

that hand one more time. I'm believing

they're not going to get saved, they're

going to get baptized in the Holy Ghost,

too. Come on. They going to get baptized

in the Holy Ghost. And watch this. And

to all who are a far off, as many as the

Lord our God will call.

One of my favorite subjects to preach

about is Pentecost. Now digress about 38

verses, 37 verses.

When the day of Pentecost had fully

come, they were all with one accord in

one place. And suddenly there came a

sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty

wind, and it filled the whole house

where they were sitting. And there

appeared to them divided tongues as of

fire and own. It said, "And as of fire

and on sat on each of them." Watch this

in the last verse. "And they were all

filled with the Holy Spirit and began to

speak with other tongues as the spirit

gave them utterance." Now, go far to the

right. Acts 19. And this [snorts] will

be my last scripture. I'm going to read

while you're standing.

There's going to be some other

scriptures in here. I promise I'll

sprinkle them in. If I read them all, we

just stand the whole entire time because

I'm not giving you my opinion. I'm

giving you the word this morning. Okay?

Acts 19 verse number six. And when Paul

had laid hands on them, these were 12

believers at Ephesus. When he laid hands

on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them

and they spoke with tongues and

prophesied. Come on.

>> Woohoo. If you're wondering who I am, I

believe in [snorts] the power of

Pentecost. I believe in the evidence of

speaking in other tongues.

>> Come on, somebody. I believe in the gift

of prophecy. I, matter of fact, I

believe in all the gifts. We preached

about that last week. But I believe

today before you leave this place, I'm

not satisfied till a 100% of people are

baptized in the Holy Ghost with the

evidence of speaking other tongues. I'm

going for broke today. So, if I had to

title this message, this is what I would

title this message this morning because

I feel like a forecaster.

There is a 100% chance of rain.

>> And if I had an extended version of that

title, it would be a 100% chance of Holy

Ghost rain. Can I get a amen?

>> Come on. If you're ready for the rain

today, I dare you to give the Lord a

shout and a clap right now. Come on.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray

right now that your power, your grace,

and your mercy would just flood this

atmosphere. And Lord, as I begin this

message, Lord, I declare over this

precious Bible that I've been given to

dedicate for Miss Isabella Brenda Adams.

Lord, I pray that you would just bless

this precious Bible. Lord, bre bless

this precious little baby by your hand

and your power. God, I believe you got

such a great future for her. Your

presence is real. Your grace is real.

Lord, anoint it. Use it. bring clarity

to her life. Lord, we bless her. We

bless her family. And Lord, I ask

[music] that you would have your way in

this moment. In Jesus name we pray. And

everybody says, "Amen." And amen. You

may be seated in the presence of the

Lord today.

100% chance of rain. Come on. I believe

he's about to rain in this house. He's

about to rain

in this house. Now, I'll say this. As

we're preparing our hearts for what the

Lord desires to do uh in our hearts

today, there is a definite sense of

celebration uh from my heart and I can

feel it from your heart that fills the

air because watch this. We are so very

thankful that we get to receive the

promise of the Holy Spirit, but we're

also thankful we get to carry the

promise of the Holy Spirit. It's one

thing to receive it, but but it's

another thing to step on the other side

of that gift and carry the Holy Spirit

because it's a legacy that wasn't given

by men. I want you to watch this. This

was not man's idea. It was not man-made.

This is not something man conjured up.

This is not a man-made or man-given

legacy. It is the legacy that was given

by heaven itself. I want you to watch

this. However, legacy is not just what

we celebrate in the moment. It is what

we steward and release into the next

generation.

>> It's one thing for me to receive the

power and the baptism of the Holy Ghost,

but it's another thing for me to turn

around and say, "There's a generation

coming after me that needs the same

experience that I've had in my life."

Now, I'm going to let me go ahead and

lay the groundwork right here and let

you know, we're not called just to make

converts in the kingdom of God. We're

called to make disciples.

>> Hello, somebody. I got Thank you for

that one amen and that one clap right

over here. I'm going to say it. We're

not called to make converts. It's not

easy to throw a crusade and get people

to come down and sign a car. It's not

hard for us to throw a crusade and maybe

get people to fill out a card to say yes

to Jesus. That's all good and well, but

what are we doing to make them MORE

CHRISTLIKE, TO HELP them develop their

gifts and help them develop uh their

their character into what God desires to

do? Can I tell you that being baptized

in the Holy Spirit is part of our

disciplehip journey that the church is

forfeited because they feel like it's

been done away with because the apostles

and disciples don't live on the earth.

Well, I'm looking at a church full of

disciples this morning. And I'm going to

tell you, it's not over. IT'S NOT

FINISHED. THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

IS STILL PRESENT TODAY. [cheering]

>> Still present today. So, it's what we

steward and release into the next

generation that really marks a legacy

that we can celebrate. So, as we begin

today's message, I want to quickly

rewind and cover what the Holy Spirit

has spoke over our hearts over the past

three weeks. On May the 3rd, my pastor,

Pastor White, stood behind this pullpit

and preached about the legacy that this

church has had and carries and is still

carrying today in the power of the Holy

Spirit. And in the power of the Holy

Spirit, there is liberty. There is

freedom that we can embrace as a church

and we can walk in. That doesn't just

stop when we walk out those back doors,

BUT THAT SAME LIBERTY AND power flows in

us and through us to the next generation

and to our family. On Mother's Day, my

beautiful wife, she stood up behind this

pull pit and she preached an incredible

word on the power of praying in the Holy

Spirit. Come on, somebody. We deepened

our relationship with the Holy Spirit.

we deepen our understanding of what it

looks like to pray in the Holy Spirit

and to have that power accessible to us

as a believer. And then last week we

talked about the gifts of the Holy

Spirit and how the function of those

gifts can be activated in our life

because we serve the giftgiver. Can I

get an amen? And I still believe today

that God has given us gifts, not just

for the house, but for your house and

for your work and for your job and for

your family. And I believe that. But

today, I want you to understand, we're

not just teaching or preaching that

today, the assignment is for us to be

ready to have the power of the Holy

Spirit released over our life and inside

of our life. I want you to understand as

we start this off to give you a little

background and information so we can

lead up to this. The promise of the Holy

Spirit is for all believers. Somebody

say all believers.

>> All believers.

>> If you've been saved by grace through

faith through through faith in the

finished work of the cross, what Jesus

Christ did, then I want you to know you

are a candidate this morning to be

baptized in the Holy Ghost. This promise

is for you. Look at your neighbor. Say,

"This promise is for you." All right.

This promise is for you. Now, let's talk

about this baptism in the Holy Ghost. I

believe through scripture and found this

out through scripture and study and

understanding of the word of God that

the initial physical evidence of being

baptized in the Holy Ghost is speaking

in tongues.

All right, this may make some folks

uncomfortable and you may have only

heard this for the first time today, but

welcome to a Pentecostal church that

believes in the full gospel. We believe

in the evidence of speaking in other

tongues. Some have asked me the question

over the years, pastor, why tongues? And

I've even asked myself that question

when I was young in my faith. And the

Lord led me back to a scripture in the

great book of James 3:es 2-10. He said,

"For all for we all stumble in many

things. If anyone does not stumble in

word, he is a perfect man also able to

bridle the whole body. He said indeed we

put bits in horses mouths that they may

obey us and we turn their whole body

with that contraption that's there.

Watch this. He said look also at ships.

Although they are large and are are

driven by fierce winds, they are turned

by a very small rudder wherever the

pilot desires. He said this in verse

number five, bringing it down to what

the revelation is. Even so, the tongue

is a little member and boasts great

things. See how great a forest the

little fire kindles. And it says in

verse six, "And the tongue is a fire, a

world of iniquity." The tongue is so set

among our members that it defiles the

whole body and sets on fire the course

of nature, and it sets on fire by hell.

But watch this. for every kind. A beast

and bird of reptile and creature of the

sea is tamed and has been tamed by

mankind. But here's where it really got

serious IN VERSE EIGHT. BUT NO man can

tame the tongue.

>> Let that sink in for a second in

relation to the power of the Holy Spirit

coming and us speaking in tongues as an

evidence that he has baptized us. But no

man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly

evil full of deadly poison. With it we

bless our God and father and with it we

curse men who have been made in the

similitude of God. Out of the same mouth

proceed blessing and cursing. He James

said, "My brethren, these things ought

not be so." I want you to understand

that the reason behind the evidence of

speaking other tongues, God's design is

because he knew IF YOU DID NOT BE IF YOU

DID NOT YIELD CONTROL OF YOUR MOUTH TO

the power of the Holy Spirit, you would

derail and hijack every promise THAT GOD

HAS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. BUT WHY

WHEN WE GET BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY GHOST

DO we speak in other tongues? That is

evidence that I have fully SURRENDERED

MY ENTIRE LIFE TO HIM. AND WHENEVER HE

BAPTIZES ME, I NO LONGER CONTROL WHAT I

SAY. I NO LONGER CONTROL HOW I

ARTICULATE MY FAITH. GUESS WHAT? THE

POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT FLOWS THROUGH

ME. AND HE ANOINTS ME. AND HE EMPOWERS

ME TO BRING LIFE TO THOSE THAT ARE

AROUND ME AND NOT SPEAK DEATH, BUT SPEAK

LIFE OVER. COME ON, SOMEBODY. I BELIEVE

[screaming] THERE'S A REASON BEHIND IT.

AND TODAY, WE'VE GOT TO EMBRACE IT. FULL

SURRENDER. GOD, TAKE OVER EVERY BIT OF

IT.

You might better look at your neighbor

and say, "You better control your

tongue."

>> Some of y'all been saying, "I've been

WAITING TO SAY THAT ALL MORNING TO MY

SPOUSE." YOU BETTER be nice.

Maybe maybe instead of saying, "I NEED

TO HOLD MY TONGUE," MAYBE I NEED TO LET

THE HOLY GHOST get a hold of it.

>> Come on. [laughter]

>> Oh, I love preaching about the Holy

Ghost.

BECAUSE HERE'S THE THING. YOU CAN TRY

EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO CONTROL YOUR

TONGUE, but at some point out of the

abundance of the heart, the mouth's

gonna speak.

>> You don't believe me? Have crazy people

flying by you on a highway when you just

want to get home

as late as last night.

May I confess?

I may have called somebody an idiot.

Probably deserved, but not my place.

Okay, I feel better now.

But I have to let the Holy Spirit take

control over what I say. Because if not,

our natural inclination as a human being

is to speak negatively and speak death.

But when the Holy Spirit controls my

tongue, I have no CHOICE BUT TO SPEAK

LIFE.

>> Talk to me, Old Testament. COME ON,

SOMEBODY. TALK TO ME. WHENEVER HE TOOK

OVER, HE SAID, "ALL I WANT TO DO IS

CURSE HIM, BUT ALL IS COMING OUT OF MY

MOUTH IS BLESSING." CAN I TELL YOU THAT

GOD'S GOING TO GET A HOLD OF THE TONGUE

IN THIS LAST DAY CHURCH TO WHEREVER

EVERYWHERE WE GO? WE SPEAK BLESSING. WE

SPEAK FAVOR. WE SPEAK HEALING. WE SPEAK

RESTORATION. I DON'T WANT A FAKE CHURCH.

I WANT A HOLY GHOST EMPOWER CHURCH

THAT'LL SAY YES TO THE GLORY OF GOD.

[cheering]

HELLO, SOMEBODY.

SO, we need to be baptized in the Holy

Ghost because we cannot control our own

tongue. That's good preaching. But

equally as important evidence to be done

on display in our life as speaking in

tonesues is the fruit of the spirit.

>> See, can I just be honest? I've been

Pentecostal all my life and I've heard a

lot about speaking in tonesues and gifts

and gifts and gifts. But rarely if ever

do they lead past that and say, "Now you

got to start displaying the fruit of the

spirit."

>> Because now you're talking about

people's character flaws.

>> Come on. People get uncomfortable when

you start getting up in their living

room. You, hey, you're reading my mail.

Yes, I am reading your mail because we

can't speak in tongues and be unkind to

people around us.

>> All right. I knew I'd get I I get like a

couple amens right there. But let's just

be real honest. We can't dance in the

Holy Ghost and be a jerk.

[cheering]

>> It's true. Come on.

Because I'm gonna tell you, that's a

real good way to turn the harvest off to

the Jesus that we serve and we honor in

this house.

>> Come on. You say, "Oh, I got the victory

on Sunday." But then you start cussing

somebody out in the in the hall.

>> Hello.

>> It don't work that way.

>> Matter of fact, you probably need to

turn around and go back to the altar and

get filled again.

>> Until all that impurity get Come on.

Okay. Being honest.

Whenever you get filled with the Holy

Ghost, you're not going to go home and

complain about everything in the church.

>> 100% chance of rain. It's raining right

now. It's raining. I'm just going to

preach to the baptismal. You say, "I

want my kids to have victory. I want my

kids to I want my kids to experience the

power of the Holy Spirit." But all you

do is complain about what the preacher

preaches.

>> All they hear is negativity. And you

wonder why they don't want to go to

church. It's because your mouth has been

in control of you've been in control of

your mouth instead of letting the Holy

Ghost control your mouth.

>> Come on, somebody.

All right, that flew over like a lead

balloon.

>> But we got to speak. If we're going to

speak in tongues, we got to have

kindness follow that.

>> There's got to be some joy in our life.

>> I know we face trials and I know we face

hard times, but listen, we cannot let

those override the joy that God gave us.

>> Amen. At some point, we got to look the

devil in the face and say, "I know I'm

in a rough place, but I'm going to have

the joy of the Lord." And watch this.

The joy of the Lord is my strength. So,

the weak places I'm in. When I start

producing joy, it's going to not BECOME

A WEAK PLACE ANYMORE, BABY. I'M GOING TO

STAND UP AND SAY, "GREATER is he that's

in me than he THAT'S IN THE WORLD." OH,

come on. I FEEL THE HOLY GHOST RIGHT

THERE. I SOMEBODY JUST GOT SET FREE

RIGHT THERE IN THE NAME OF JESUS. PUT

JOY ON DISPLAY. EVEN IF YOU DON'T FEEL

IT, I KNOW I'M ON MY WAY TO HEAVEN. AND

LET STRENGTH FOLLOW.

>> Let strength follow.

>> Watch this. Pentecost is not just a

moment. It's a movement.

>> WE HAVE CELEBRATED JUST A MOMENT FOR

LONG ENOUGH. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE SOME

MOMENTS here in a minute. I'm fixing to

wrap this thing up and we're going to

lay hands on people and see him filled

with the Holy Ghost. But if it doesn't

cause us to move in the authority of God

outside the church, then what have we

really done?

Some say, let's keep going. Some say the

Holy Spirit baptism is not for today,

>> a cessationist doctrine drawn from a

single passage in 1 Corinthians 13 8-10.

And it speaks in the scripture of three

specific things that will cease at some

point. One of those being prophecies,

one of those being tongues, and one of

those being knowledge.

Watch this. This is where they draw it

from. And they say, it says, "When that

which is perfect has come, these three

things will cease." And they have

limited it to scriptures written on a

page. Now, this is the infallible the

infallible word of God that is

absolutely inherent. And we have that.

And there are no fallacies in this even

though there are people today that would

like to say it contradicts himself. No,

it does not contradict it. I don't have

time to preach all that, but I'm going

to tell you it is inherent. There is no

errors in this word. But there is only

one. He may not be talking about just

what shows up, but he's talking about a

who that is going to show up. And watch

this. When we see Jesus face to face,

watch this. WE DON'T NEED PROPHECY

ANYMORE. WE DON'T NEED SPEAKING in

tongues anymore. WE DON'T NEED KNOWLEDGE

ANYMORE BECAUSE WE WILL BEHOLD THE ONE

WHO FULFILLED IT ALL INSIDE OF OUR LIFE.

SO, LET'S GO AHEAD AND DEBUNK

CESSATIONISM. CESSATIONISM IS A LIE. THE

GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT, THE POWER OF THE

HOLY SPIRIT IS FOR RIGHT NOW, TODAY IN

THIS HOUSE. AND I BELIEVE IT. IT MAY

MAKE SOME PEOPLE UPSET, BUT I DECLARE

IT'S NOT OUTDATED. IT'S AVAILABLE RIGHT

NOW IN THIS HOUSE.

[cheering]

[applause]

>> Who's he talking about? He's talking

about Jesus.

>> Somebody say Jesus.

>> They may be passionate, but I've heard

this before, Pastor Scott. They are

passionately wrong.

When I get to heaven, there will be no

need for tongues and prophecies.

>> You can land on those and you can say

those and you can link that to the word

of God and they can try to say it

ceases. But let me tell you something.

Knowledge is increasing by the day.

>> So it has not ceased. For them, the

power of the Holy Spirit may have

ceased, but in this house it has not

ceased. In my life, it has not ceased.

>> I'm just being honest. This is personal

testimony beyond what scripture points

us to. So, I want you to understand if

that's where you land and you believe

that and you've come to kind of debunk

me and say, "Oh, this is not true."

Listen, you have come and you are

barking up the wrong tree because in

here, I'm going to fan the gifts of the

spirit. I'm going to fan the flame of

the Holy Spirit and I'm going to say,

"Baby, let's absolutely open up the

doors and let it fan in this house." We

need the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

>> We need it.

Now

many people will say, "Pastor, I see

your point. I get you." And that's okay.

I see it's available. But it is not

required to be baptized in the Holy

Ghost.

Now, this that answer can be true

depending on what your foundation is for

the response. You say, "Well, don't have

to be baptized in the Holy Ghost." Okay.

Well, let's let's unpack that for a

second and let's talk about this. Let's

be real.

If you're saying to get to heaven, do I

need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost?

Well, the answer is no. You don't have

to be.

>> Come on. Let's talk about this for real

this morning. I don't I don't have to be

because the only thing required to go to

heaven is to have faith in Jesus through

the blood that he shed on the cross of

Calvary. Can I get an amen?

>> Can we all agree on that this morning?

So, in that context, no, you don't have

to be baptized in the Holy Ghost. But if

you're going to live victorious in this

life and operate in kingdom power, guess

what? You are going to have to be

baptized in the Holy Ghost.

>> Oh, come on. [applause and cheering]

And now, let me go ahead and preface

this. I ain't talking about being weird.

I ain't talking about doing all kinds of

crazy stuff and like out-of- body

experiences, all that stuff. Those

things may happen, but what I'm telling

you, that's not what's required. He

wants you and your heart.

>> He wants you. THE HOLY SPIRIT, WATCH

THIS, is not optional. He is essential.

>> He is the third member of the Godhead.

>> He is essential to us doing anything for

the kingdom of God.

>> Essential. Ephesians 5:18 says, "And do

Ephesians 5:18

not be drunk with wine."

Do I need to stay there?

>> Everybody like, "Please, pastor, get

on." Do not be drunk with wine in which

is dissipation or frivolous living. He

said, "But be filled with the spirit,

not spirits

>> that liquor stores want you to go run

to. You don't solve your problems at a

liquor store.

It's coming.

>> YOU DON'T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS GO PULLING

UP TO A bar and saying, "I need to drink

my SORROWS AWAY." GET FILLED WITH THE

HOLY SPIRIT. [cheering]

>> Come on. I think I really can I just can

I just preach right here? I really think

if the Pentecostal churches will quit

being so stinking shy and timid about

the power of the Holy Spirit, we would

have less people going out and trying TO

FIND AN ANSWER THROUGH A BOTTLE AND THEY

WOULD COME TO AN ALTAR AND SAY, "I DON'T

HAVE TO GO TO A LIQUOR STORE. I CAN COME

TO AN ALTAR AND FIND MY VICTORY." COME

ON. DO I HAVE A CHURCH THAT'LL SAY,

"YES, WE WANT THE POWER. YES, WE WANT

THE ANOINTING. YES, WE WANT THE GLORY.

I'M NOT SATISFIED WITH ANYTHING LESS

THAN HIS GLORY IN MY LIFE.

>> [cheering]

[applause]

>> My God,

>> I put it on the enemy last week and

said, "We're going to come against every

stinking spirit of witchcraft and

divination that comes against it." I'M

GOING TO COME AGAINST ALCOHOLISM, TOO,

AND LET YOU KNOW, YOU DON'T HAVE TO

DROWN YOUR SORROWS AWAY. YOU DON'T HAVE

TO HAVE FRIENDS IN LOW PLACES. YOU CAN

HAVE SOMEBODY WHO'S HIGHER AND LINKED UP

WITH EVERYTHING. HE'LL GIVE YOU POWER.

HE'LL GIVE YOU ANOINTING. YOU NEED THE

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST.

MY GOD, WE DON'T DO FRIVOLOUS CRAZY

LIVING. We live according to the word of

God.

>> Now watch this. Watch what he's saying.

This phrase be filled. Somebody say be

filled.

>> Be filled

>> is a verb, an action word. I paid

attention in school. Come on, somebody.

Just for a little bit. Three different

ways. In present tense, this is what it

means. A continual action. Passive voice

means something received, not

manufactured. An imperative move. Watch

this. It is a command, not a suggestion.

Let me go down through this. So, be

filled is a continual action. Be filled

is something received that I did not

manufacture myself. It came from

somebody else. But it's also a command,

not a suggestion. LITERALLY MEANING WHEN

HE SAID BE FILLED, HE SAID KEEP ON

CONTINUALLY BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY

SPIRIT. THAT MEANS THAT I DON'T JUST

COME DOWN AND RECEIVE IT ON A SUNDAY

LIKE WE'RE ABOUT TO IN A MINUTE AND

NEVER SPEAK IN TONGUES THE REST OF MY

LIFE. NO, BABY. WHEN I WAKE UP TOMORROW,

I SAY, "LORD, FILL ME FRESH AGAIN WITH

THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT." WHEN I

WAKE UP ON TUESDAY, I SAY, "FILL ME

AGAIN WITH THE POWER OF THE HOLY

SPIRIT." WHEN I GET IN MY CAR TO GO WORK

TO GO TO WORK ON TUESDAY, I SAY, "HOLY

SPIRIT, FILL ME UP. MAKE ME WHAT YOU

WANT ME TO BE." I DON'T NEED IT JUST ONE

TIME, BABY. I NEED IT EVERY MOMENT OF

EVERY DAY OF EVERY SITUATION I COME UP

AGAINST. I NEED THE [screaming] POWER OF

THE HOLY SPIRIT.

>> My my my. Keep on continually

being filled with the spirit.

That's why I say it's not a moment, it's

a movement.

>> Paul is not merely teaching about one

encounter with the Holy Spirit. He is

commanding a lifestyle of continually or

continual infilling.

>> Because watch this, the promise didn't

expire, it extended.

>> Come on.

>> It it it ex You'll understand that in

just a minute. The promise didn't

expire. It extended.

And the question that is engraved on my

heart through this message this morning

is, will you and I carry the treasure

that was entrusted to us by previous

generations?

Because I'm going to say this, we don't

have the luxury of being nearsighted in

the kingdom.

>> What do you mean, pastor? In simple

terms, it's not just about us.

It

>> It's not just about what's about to

happen in this room. This is A STARTING

POINT, BUT it's not the end point. Yeah.

>> Come on, somebody. It's not just about

us cuz Acts 2:39 says, "The promise is

Acts 2:39

for you and your children and those a

far off.

>> THIS BRINGS URGENCY TO MY HEART. It

brings urgency to my mind this morning

that we must seed THE CLOUDS FOR THE

NEXT GENERATION." And I know that's

diving off into some uh some some

conspiracy theory stuff that that that

happens in the natural realm where they

come by and they seed clouds to produce

more rain in certain areas because there

are droughts and all this different

stuff. But can I tell you THE

FORETHOUGHT OF SAYING IF WE DON'T DO

SOMETHING this place is going to wither

up and die. They'll seed THE CLOUDS TO

MAKE SURE IT produces more rain. I want

you to understand WE HAVE TO BE THE

GENERATION now that figuratively seeds

the clouds THROUGH PRAYER AND THROUGH

INTERCESSION. SO THE NEXT GENERATION IF

THEY COME AFTER US, IF THE LORD CARRIES,

THERE IS SOMETHING THAT WILL SUSTAIN

THEM. THERE IS A POWER THAT WILL KEEP

THEM. THERE'S AN AN COME ON. THERE'S AN

ANOINTING THAT WILL GO THROUGH THEM AND

FLOW THROUGH THEM. SO I SAY, LET US BE

ANOINTED WITH FRESH OIL THIS MORNING. WE

NEED THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

FLOWING THROUGH OUR LIVES. I WANT TO

KNOW WILL ANYBODY SEAT THE CLOUDS WITH

SOME PRAISE THIS MORNING? I DARE YOU TO

JUMP TO YOUR FEET AND GIVE GOD A CRAZY

PRAISE AND SAY, "LORD, SEND THE rain in

this house. Send the RAIN ON MY

CHILDREN. SEND THE RAIN ON MY FAMILY.

SEND THE RAIN ON EVERY PART OF MY LIFE.

WE NEED THE RAIN." I'll say IT LIKE

THIS. WE NEED THE RAIN IN OUR FAMILIES.

WE NEED THE RAIN IN THE NEXT SEASON OF

THIS CHURCH.

>> We've got to have the rain. We've got to

have the rain. Because here's what I

want you to understand.

If we do not seed the clouds for the

next generation,

I want to give a warning right here.

Here, pastor. Pentecost as we know it

will be dead.

Watch this. We are one generation away

from losing this thing.

We are one generation of saying, "I

fought long enough. I don't need to do

this anymore from us losing this thing.

We are we are one stint of pastors in

this nation away from saying, "Well,

we're just going to cave into

cessationism now and we're not going to

worry about it." Because, you know, if

they're being real honest, it requires

us to have a prayer life to be in the

spirit.

>> Cessationism is real good and glam

because then you don't have to worry

about you just walk up and say, "Well,

the Lord said this." Well, yeah, he did

say that. But we need some demonstration

of power.

>> Come on. We need some glory in the

house.

>> If we're trying to do enticing words of

man's wisdom, I need to go back to

school cuz I ain't got it.

>> Hello, somebody. You're looking at God

right here. I just cut my teeth. I

figured this thing out along the way.

And the Lord gave me strength and gave

me grace and gave me help and and you've

been gracious to me to sit here and

listen to me even in my terrible

English. I I made a bad grade in English

comp one. And it was it was my wife's

grandma that taught it. I thought she

would give me a A just for showing up.

Baby, she gave me a C minus.

But you know what she told me? She said,

"I'm going to be hard on you because

there's going to be a day you're going

to have to be able to use this English

language to tell somebody about Jesus,

and you don't need to flub it up." I

said, "Well, thanks for the C minus, but

I would have liked to have a B."

Can I tell you, I may not have the most

enticing words of man's wisdom, and I

may not have all the cool things worked

out and all that. I may not be able to

come up here and just tickle your ears

and tickle your fancy. But what I am

going to do is I'm going to come up here

and preach the word of God. And then I'm

going to get out of the way and let the

Holy Spirit do his work. Can I get an

amen? That's my heart. That's my desire

because today I believe he wants to do

that inside of every one of our hearts.

Pentecost as we know it will be dead if

we let it settle for one generation. But

I'm going be honest. I refuse to let

Pentecost die on my watch.

>> Come on. Anybody else say, "Pastor, I'm

I'm with you. I refuse to let Pentecost

die on our watch." Can we give the Lord

a praise in the house for that?

[cheering]

Now,

I'm working this baby around to a

landed. Here we go. Here's the truth

this morning. The Lord has entrusted us

to carry and steward this treasure, this

treasured gift.

The Lord brought me back to a scripture

in Ecclesiastes 11 verse number three.

And the Bible says it like this in this

version. said, "When the clouds are full

of water, they release rain upon the

earth." When the clouds are full of

water, they release rain upon the earth.

Now, let's look at these three words:

clouds, rain, and release. Clouds in

this moment represented a thick storm

cloud, heavy skies carrying something.

You know what it looks like when you get

outside and we've had some rain. Praise

God, we've had some rain. We needed it

in this area. But you look up in the sky

and you see these heavy clouds that are

dark and you can tell that they have

moisture all and they're carrying

something meaning God's glory or divine

vision or visitation to each one of us

or it looks like a rain or a bringer of

blessing or prophetic fulfillment over

our lives. Can I tell you when we see

clouds circling and you see clouds in

the word of God it represents all these

things. It represents a bringer of

blessing or rain or a prophetic

fulfillment or divine visitation from

God himself. Then you see this word rain

that's here. It said to release rain

upon the earth. I want you to see this

that it means heavy rains. Not just a

sprinkle.

>> Not just [snorts] a little sprinkle or a

trickle, but it really represents

showers or a downpour representing

refreshing provision, revival, and the

word of God. And then you get to that

other part of the scripture where he

says they release. Somebody say release.

Release could also mean empty or poor.

And I want you to see this. It means

literally to make room for something.

And it also means to release fully and

not in part. What is full? I want you to

see this. When you see a cloud that's

above our above our head in the natural,

WHEN IT GETS TO A CERTAIN POINT and it

is full of moisture and it is full of

rain, IT HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO eventually

release that rain upon the earth because

it cannot carry it. A cloud is not

designed to hoard rain. It is designed

to release what it carries on the earth

so that there might be growth on the

earth that it pours itself out in. SO I

WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND IN THIS MOMENT

when he is saying this the great saw the

great uh man OF WISDOM HERE WHEN THE

CLOUDS are full of water THEY RELEASE

RAIN UPON THE EARTH. HE UNDERSTOOD NOT

ONLY IN THE PHYSICAL BUT IN THE

SPIRITUAL IF THAT CLOUD THAT'S ABOVE OUR

HEAD GETS SO FULL OF THE REIGN OF GOD AT

SOME POINT IT CANNOT RETAIN IT OR HOARD

IT ANYMORE AT SOME POINT IT HAS TO

RELEASE IT OVER THE EARTH AND THAT IS

YOU AND I. IT'S IN JOEL 2 23 SAYS, "BE

GLAD, YOU CHILDREN OF ZION, AND REJOICE

IN THE LORD YOUR GOD, FOR HE HAS GIVEN

YOU THE FORMER RAIN FAITHFULLY, AND HE

WILL CAUSE THE RAIN to come DOWN FOR

YOU, THE FORMER RAIN AND THE LATTER RAIN

IN THE FIRST MONTH." I WANT YOU TO

UNDERSTAND THAT WHAT GOD IS GETTING

READY TO DO IN THESE LAST DAYS, AND I'LL

SAY IT SPECIFICALLY FOR OUR CHURCH,

BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE I PASTOR, GOD IS

GETTING READY TO NOT ONLY ALLOW US TO

HAVE THE FORMER REIGN, THE HISTORY, BUT

HE IS A GIVING US THE LATTER RAIN, WHICH

IS THE DESTINY, AND THEY'RE ABOUT TO

MATCH UP TOGETHER AND WE'RE ABOUT TO SEE

SOMETHING SHIFT IN THE HEAVENLIES IN

THIS HOUSE. I WANT TO PROPHESY THAT THE

LATTER RAIN WAS POWERFUL, BUT THE FOR

THE COME ON OR THE FORMER RAIN WAS

POWERFUL, BUT THE LATTER RAIN IS GOING

TO BE SOMETHING WE'VE NEVER SEEN THAT

CAN COMPARE TO IN THIS HOUSE. I WANT TO

KNOW, IS THERE ANYBODY IN THE ROOM ON

THIS SUNDAY MORNING, PENTECOST SUNDAY,

THAT WOULD SAY, "PASTOR, I WANT THE

FORMER RAIN AND I WANT THE LATTER RAIN

RIGHT HERE IN THE FIRST MONTH." IF YOU

DO, I DARE YOU TO GIVE GOD A PROPHETIC

PRAISE AND SAY, "LORD, POUR yourself out

on my life.

POUR YOURSELF OUT on my life." I'm

reminded of a story. Elijah, whenever he

went up to Mount Carmel to face the

prophets of Bale, 450 prophets of Bale,

and the Bible says they got there and

they were trying to decide whose god was

real. The the the the interesting part

of THE STORY IS BALE the the prophets of

Bale thought their God was real, but

Elijah knew his God was real. Come on.

They thought it. He knew it. I'm going

to tell you, the enemy thinks he's GOT

THE ADVANTAGE, BUT I KNOW MY GOD'S got

the advantage in these last days. Elijah

stood up and said, "YOU KNOW WHAT? I'LL

BE A GENTLEMAN. Go first." AND THEY GOT

DOWN THERE, CUT THEIREL, SCREAMED,

HOLLERED, DID ALL KINDS OF CRAZY STUFF.

THEY LOOKED LIKE LUNATICS. And he began

to make fun of them. I'M GOING TO TELL

YOU THE ENEMY, HE LIKES TO POKE FUN AT

PENTECOSTAL CHURCHES AND SAYING, "YOU

GUYS LOOK LIKE LUNATICS." But really, if

we put a mirror up, JOKER, YOU LOOK LIKE

A LUNATIC IN THE WORLD, DRINKING A

BOTTLE AND DANCING LIKE A CRAZY PERSON

WITH NO PURPOSE AT ALL. WHY DO WE DANCE

IN THIS HOUSE? BECAUSE SOMEBODY SET US

FREE. CUZ SOMEBODY DELIVERED US. WE

DON'T DANCE TO GET RID OF OUR SORROWS.

WE DANCE BECAUSE WE ARE SET FREE.

He said, ELIJAH SAID, "GUESS WHAT? YOUR

GOD MAY BE DEAF. YOUR GOD can't hear

you.

In other words, he said, "Your God's a

loser."

>> He said, "Matter of fact, YOUR GOD'S

PROBABLY ON THE TOILET."

>> Come on, go back and read it. It's one

of the coolest stories in the word of

God. He said, "Listen, um uh if you guys

are done, I've got a drought to go put

it into. Can y'all please stop what

you're doing so I can have my turn?" And

the Bible says that he took his turn. He

did all kinds of stuff. Poured water on

the sacrifice, all this stuff. and he

prayed a simple prayer and the fire of

God fell down from heaven and and got

rid of the sacrifice, the rocks, the

water, all the stuff. HE DISPLAYED IN

THAT MOMENT THAT OUR GOD is real. THEY

SAID, "WHOEVER GOD ANSWERS BY FIRE IS

THE REAL GOD. ELIJAH'S GOD ANSWERED BY

FIRE." But I love the rest of this

story. SOME PEOPLE SKIP BY THAT AND SAY,

"LISTEN, don't read the rest." OH, NO.

HE TOOK ALL 450 PROPHETS OF BAAL DOWN TO

THE BROOK AND HE KILLED EVERY SINGLE ONE

OF THEM SO THAT THE TEMPTATION AND THE

HERESY would not exist in Jerusale

Israel anymore. so he CAN LET THEM KNOW,

I KNOW YOU TRIED TO PULL PEOPLE AWAY,

BUT LET ME TELL YOU WHO REALLY ANSWERED

BY FIRE. I'M GOING TO TELL YOU, THERE'S

ABOUT TO BE A SEPARATION COMING IN THESE

LAST DAYS THAT THE FALSE GODS OF THIS

WORLD ARE GOING TO FALL FLAT ON THEIR

FACE. AND THE GOD OF ALL GLORY THROUGH

THE CHURCH, THAT'S YOU AND I, IS GOING

TO STAND UP AND SAY, "WE ARE THE REAL

CHURCH. WE'VE GOT THE REAL ANSWER. HE IS

THE REAL GOD." WHY? BECAUSE WE ARE

FILLED WITH THE POWER OF PENTECOST. HIGH

FIVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AND SAY, "WE'RE the

real church.

Oh, but then you go down another

scripture or two right past that in

First Kings chapter 18 verse number 44

1 Kings 18 · chapter mention

and 45 articulates the end of the story.

There was a drought that was in the land

and he sent his servant six times up to

the top of the mountain. He said, "Go

look and see if you see a cloud. I'll

stay here and pray. You go check it

out." But then he got to verse number 44

and 45. He said, "Then it came to pass

the seventh time." Somebody say the

seventh time. You got to watch out for a

seventh time because when God shows up,

he's going to show up right in the

middle of that. He said this. The

servant went out and looked. He said,

"There is a cloud as small as a man's

hand rising out of the sea." SO HE SAID,

"GO UP, SAY TO AHAB, PREPARE YOUR

CHARIOTS and go down before the rain

stops you." I want you to understand in

this house, I want you to see this in

this house. Now, IT HAPPENED IN THE

MEANTIME THAT THE SKY ITSELF BECAME

BLACK WITH CLOUDS AND WATCH THIS and

wind and there was a heavy rain. I want

TO TELL YOU SOMETIMES YOU GOT TO CRUCIFY

THE FLESH AND GET THE ENEMY out of the

way so the rain can show up. Today we've

got to get the enemy out OF THE WAY AND

SAY, "DEVIL, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE MY

FAMILY. DEVIL, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE

MY CHURCH. DEVIL, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO

HAVE MY MIND. DEVIL, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. MATTER OF FACT,

YOU ARE A FALSE GOD." SO I SAY, "LET THE

CLOUDS ASSEMBLE. LET THE GLORY OF GOD

COME." I'M LOOKING AND I SEE A CLOUD THE

SIZE OF A MAN'S HAND. GOD, POUR YOUR

SPIRIT OUT IN THIS HOUSE. 1 2 3. GIVE

HIM PRAISE IF YOU'RE READY FOR IT.

My my my I feel the glory of the Lord

cuz I'll say this. We've been slaying

enemies around here and we've TAKEN

STANDS FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS. WE'VE DECLARED

THAT JESUS IS THE ONE TRUE GOD. BUT

THERE IS A DROUGHT OF TRUE PENTECOST

THAT IS IN THE LAND TODAY. WE HAVE

PREACHED IT. WE HAVE PRAYED FOR IT. WE

HAVE EXPECTATION THIS MORNING. AND I

DECLARE THAT I'VE COME TO BE A

METEOROLOGIST IN THE SPIRIT TODAY AND

LET YOU KNOW I HEARD FROM THE LORD.

THERE IS A 100% CHANCE OF RAIN AT

MILLIGAN ASSEMBLY THIS MORNING. ALL WE

NEED IS SOME FOLKS THAT'LL SAY, "POUR

YOURSELF OUT RIGHT HERE." DO I HAVE A

CHURCH THAT'LL SAY, "I WANT THE RAIN. I

WANT THE POWER. I WANT THE GLORY. I NEED

IT IN my life." OH, COME ON. ALL I NEED

IS SOME FOLK TO GET A LITTLE BIT CRAZY

WITH ME AND GIVE GOD SOME PRAISE AND

SAY, "LORD, POUR YOURSELF OUT in this

house."

OH, HALLELUJAH. 1 2 3. GIVE HIM PRAISE.

LOOK AT YOUR NEIGHBOR THIS MORNING AND

SAY, "THERE'S A 100% chance of rain.

100% CHANCE OF RAIN OVER MY MIND. 100%

CHANCE OF RAIN OVER MY BODY. 100% CHANCE

OF RAIN OVER MY PASTORS. 100% CHANCE OF

RATE OVER OUR KIDS AND OVER OUR YOUTH

AND OVER THIS CHURCH. GOD, SEND THE

HARVEST IN THIS HOUSE.

Look at your neighbor. Say, "Bring it

on. [cheering]

>> We need the Holy Ghost." Now, watch

this. Now, I'm almost done. Get my

musicians up here. I'm I'm I'm done.

Watch this. If you go to Acts chapter

Acts 19 · chapter mention

19,

and this where I'm going to land, and I

want my prayer team to be ready in just

a moment, cuz we are about to lay hands

on some folks this morning. Uh-huh. You

say, "Wow, pastor, this is crazy." Yes,

it is. I'm just crazy enough to believe

the word of God says it, I want to be

part of it.

>> Acts 19. And it happened while Apollos

was at Corinth that Paul having passed

through the upper coast or the upper

regions came to Ephesus and found some

disciples. He said to them, "Did you

receive the Holy Spirit since you

believed?"

>> Woo. And you would think maybe they WERE

LIKE, "OH YEAH, WE GOT IT, PAUL." NO,

they said they told him, "We have not so

much as heard whether there is a Holy

Spirit." Some of you may have walked in

today and said, "What is going on?"

>> Say, "I ain't even heard about somebody

told me about Jesus, but I ain't heard

about the Holy Spirit.

>> Today's your lucky day. You found a gold

mine.

>> You about to walk out of here in the

fullness of the spirit.

>> I had to walk out of here filled WITH

THE POWER OF GOD." THEY SAID, "WE HADN'T

EVEN HEARD." So then Paul said, "Well,

whoa, what were you baptized into? Can

you see this conversation?" Paul's like

took him back like what's going on? They

said into John's baptism. Then Paul said

John and be indeed baptized you the

baptism of repentance saying to the or

saying to the people that they should

believe on him who would come after him

that is on Christ Jesus. Now we got the

foundations in there. We we got to make

sure that we're on the right foundation.

That's Christ. Because if we're not on

the foundation of Christ, it gets weird.

It gets kooky.

It's built on some other personality

other than the name of Jesus.

>> In this house, everything we have is

built on one name and that's the name of

Jesus.

>> My Bible says he is the chief

cornerstone.

>> I'm not laying any other foundations

other than Jesus Christ. But he said

when they heard this, they were baptized

in the name of the Lord Jesus. I know

some people get their brain in a wide.

one scripture says baptize in the name

of the father, son, and holy ghost. We

read earlier in Acts 2 that they

baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and

now they're baptized in the name of the

Lord Jesus. How about I'm just thankful

they got baptized.

Hello, somebody.

I know that'll upset the apple cart.

But watch this. Verse number six. And

when Paul had laid hands on them, the

Holy Spirit came upon them, and they

spoke with tongues and prophesied.

What is Pentecost Sunday all about,

Pastor? You can play me out.

If you get on that organ again, I'm

going to pass out.

He will baptize us with the Holy Ghost

and fire.

I Let me go ahead and disclaim. I am not

the baptizer.

>> Jesus is the baptizer in the Holy Ghost.

>> Amen.

>> He baptizes us in the Holy Ghost. Paul

in this in this scripture we just read

in Acts 19 was an instrument that God

used to bring them to the knowledge that

the Holy Spirit exists and wanted to

fill those precious believers that were

in Corinth that had no idea. And then

God used Paul TO LAY HANDS ON THEM AND

AN IMPARTATION, a transfer moment. They

received what he already had.

You say, "WOW, PASTOR, WHY WHY DO WE LAY

HANDS ON PEOPLE?" THERE YOU GO.

SCRIPTURALLY RIGHT THERE. IT'S NOT TO be

weird. IT'S NOT JUST SO I CAN FEEL HOW

SOFT YOUR HAIR IS. THAT'S NOT WHY WE DO

THIS,

>> but we DO IT AS A POINT OF CONTACT.

THERE WERE OTHER SCRIPTURES THAT THEY

TOOK HANDKERCHIEFS AND THEY PUT IT ON

PAUL AND THEY LEFT IT AND THEY SENT IT

OUT SO THAT PEOPLE COULD BE HEALED. IT

WAS A TANGIBLE TRANSFER OR IMPARTATION

of what was in his life.

And so, in just a moment, our prayer

team's going to be ready. And if you're

ready to receive the power of the Holy

Spirit, maybe for the first time be

baptized [music] or maybe you need fresh

fire today. They're going to lay hands

on you according to scripture. They're

going to lay hands on you and you're

going to receive the power of the Holy

Ghost.

>> That's how simple this is. I'm not here

to complicate it. If you've been saved,

you're born again, you've been washed in

the blood, guess what? Today, you're

getting filled with the Holy Ghost.

>> It's happening.

>> Now, let me give some clear instructions

here because I don't want there to be

any confusion in the house.

When we are receiving the baptism in the

Holy Ghost, I want you to prep your

heart. Just just focus in with me. I I I

preach not near as long as I plan on

preaching because I want to give room

for the Holy Spirit to breathe. When we

receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit,

we receive it by faith the same way we

receive salvation.

>> Amen.

>> We receive that by faith. It takes some

faith to say, "Yes, take control of my

tongue, Holy Spirit.

So we say by faith, Lord, I believe this

is for me. I hope you heard my heart

today that this promise is for us.

I don't think I could get much more

clear in scripture than what I did

today. It is lined out. It is for us.

Number [clears throat] two,

you have to have full surrender to the

power of the Holy Spirit.

Complete surrender. You must completely

surrender in your body, soul, and

spirit. every part of your being. No

reserves.

Not saying, "Well, if I get down here, I

feel a little tingle in my left toe,

then I'll believe it all the way." No,

don't do that.

That's weird.

I'm going to look at you like you lost

your mind if you do stuff like that.

Don't be weird. The promise, the gift is

for you. If you are saved, the answer is

yes. He will fill you.

Yes,

you can do nothing to earn the power of

the Holy Spirit.

>> You can't pay for it.

Hey, there's stuff in the scripture

about that, too. You can't pay for these

things. You can't pay for the gifts and

operate. You can't do that. It is a gift

freely given to you. But you have to be

surrendered to his lordship.

>> If you're wanting it so people will look

at you, it won't happen.

>> Amen.

But if you're wanting it so people will

see Jesus, it will happen.

>> So we got to be fully surrendered. Then

the last thing, third thing, I'm going

keep it really simple. You got to have

faith. You got to be surrendered. Third

thing, you have to yield to the Holy

Spirit.

You have to yield your tongue. It's the

most unruly member of your body. And you

know it's true.

Some of y'all thinking about like what

you said yesterday. Yeah, he's right.

Pastor's right. Sad thing I shouldn't

have said yesterday.

Let me tell you, if it was up to our

power, we can't control it. We don't

have enough self-control. There's no

way. But when the Holy Spirit takes

over, we yield our mouth to him. He

becomes the orchestrator of our future

and not oursel.

And in that moment, watch this. When you

are there in a posture, a heart posture

of faith, say, "Yes, I believe this is

for me." And then you're fully

surrendered, saying, "Lord, I give you

every part of my life." And you yield to

him. Guess what? and you're sincere in

your heart and you surrender to him,

there are going to be things he puts in

your mind to speak out and you speak it

through the power of the Holy Spirit,

nobody's gonna stand up here and say,

"This is how you do it. Jiggle your

tongue or whatever." No, I ain't saying

that. No, ain't going. Again, that's

weird. Somebody does that to you, I will

remove them from the prayer team

immediately. Amen.

>> We It's It's not manufactured. It is

heaven sentent.

>> Heaven sentent.
