Hey friends, it's Pastor Jesse from
-
Liberty Culture Church and I am glad
-
that you've joined us today for this
-
message. Listen, we believe that the
-
word of God is authoritative [music] and
-
the power of the Holy Spirit is active
-
and available right now in this moment
-
and I believe he's going to bring
-
transformation to your life. I believe
-
as you listen to this message, power of
-
the Holy Spirit is going to touch you,
-
minister to your life and you're going
-
to see God do incredible things in your
-
life. So listen, let's go now into this
-
message and be blessed
-
>> [music]
-
>> by the word of God.
-
>> [music]
-
>> And I don't know about you, but I'm
-
ready for the word today. Anybody else
-
ready for the word today? Come on.
-
I I I want you to go with me to Matthew
-
chapter number 19 and we're going to
-
read several verses there, but I feel
-
like the Lord's given me a direct word
-
for this house. There are two Greek
-
words uh that come to mind as I prepare
-
my heart for this. One of those is logos
-
and one of those is
-
>> [music]
-
>> rhema. Somebody say logos.
-
And say rhema.
-
These are two Greek words that describe
-
a word.
-
What I'm about to do in this moment
-
right now. And let me give you a quick
-
definition. Logos is the written or the
-
revealed word of God. You hold in your
-
hand the logos of God. Somebody say
-
logos.
-
That's what you hold in your hand, but
-
rhema is another dimension of that same
-
thought process and it literally means a
-
specific spirit-quickened word from God
-
for a particular moment or situation.
-
And today I feel like I'm going to I'm
-
going to give you some logos. We're
-
going to get there, but I feel like God
-
has given me a rhema word for Liberty
-
Culture Church.
-
So you might better look at your
-
neighbor and say, "You better buckle
-
up."
-
Come on, shout it at them. Say, "You
-
better buckle up."
-
There's a rhema word on the way.
-
There's a rhema word on the way cuz
-
logos establishes
-
the truth. We're going to establish the
-
truth, but rhema brings the truth into
-
the moment that you're in right now.
-
So, if you got Matthew chapter number
-
19,
-
say, "I got it."
-
Now, one question before we read
-
because
-
I I want to start with the end in mind
-
this morning.
-
And the question is not just some random
-
question I'm going to throw out. It
-
demands an answer from every single one
-
of us. And we are a Pentecostal church.
-
Can I get an amen?
-
All right, that was okay for maybe like
-
a upscale Baptist, but how many know
-
we're a Pentecostal church? Come on. I
-
said, "We are a Pentecostal church."
-
All right. So, when I say it demands an
-
answer, it doesn't demand just an
-
internal answer, but it demands an
-
external answer. And that is by way of
-
verification that you really believe it
-
in your heart what God is about to do in
-
this place. And the question is this
-
this morning,
-
are you ready for revival?
-
>> [cheering]
-
>> All right, that was okay.
-
That was all right.
-
And we'll dive deeper into this, but I'm
-
going to ask you one more time because I
-
want to [music] give you one more chance
-
uh and and prepare you for the end
-
because at the end we're going to have
-
to get rowdy and get crazy and all that
-
stuff. But the question this morning is
-
simply this, are you ready for revival?
-
>> [music]
-
>> Oh, yeah.
-
So, we're going to jump right in to
-
revival this morning. But that is the
-
question I feel like the Holy Spirit is
-
posing to us today at Liberty Culture
-
Church. Are you ready for revival?
-
Matthew 19, start with verse number 16.
-
If you haven't got it yet, I gave you
-
plenty of time. You can jump on the
-
screen with us and watch there. It says,
-
"Now behold, one came and said to him."
-
Who is him? It's Jesus.
-
Said, "Good teacher, what good thing
-
shall I do
-
that I may have eternal life?" A A very
-
important question, wouldn't you say? If
-
we're going to make it to heaven, we
-
need to ask the one who can give us the
-
way.
-
So, Jesus said to him, "Why do YOU CALL
-
ME GOOD?" DIDN'T EVEN answer his
-
question. He said, "How dare you call me
-
good? No one is good but one, and that
-
is God or my father in heaven."
-
Said, "But if you want to enter into
-
life." He said, "Let's keep it simple.
-
Keep the commandments."
-
All right? Pretty straightforward. Most
-
of us, if we heard Jesus say that to us,
-
we'd say, "Got you. On my way. Here I
-
go." But no, that's not what he said.
-
Look at verse 18. He said to him, "Which
-
ones?"
-
He said, "What So, if we're going to be
-
IF WE'RE GOING TO TELL ME COMMAND ALL
-
RIGHT, GIVE give me a few that I can
-
follow and let's forget about the rest."
-
That's what he's really saying. He said,
-
Jesus said to him, "All right, fine."
-
And now, some people see this as Jesus
-
negotiating. No, Jesus is opening a
-
door.
-
He's not negotiating. He's opening a
-
door. Jesus don't negotiate. Come on.
-
United States of America does not
-
negotiate with terrorists, and Jesus
-
does not negotiate with people. Can I
-
get an amen?
-
There is a way, and we walk in it. But
-
Jesus said, "All right, here you go. You
-
shall not murder.
-
You shall not commit adultery. You shall
-
not steal. You shall not bear false
-
witness. Honor your father and your
-
mother, [music] and you shall love your
-
neighbor as yourself."
-
All right, if keep the commandments
-
wasn't good enough, here goes a There's
-
a list.
-
But then the young man said to him, "All
-
these things I've kept FROM MY YOUTH.
-
WHAT DO I still lack?" Knowing good and
-
well that joker ain't kept all them
-
commandments.
-
He lied straight to Jesus' face.
-
And they're trying to say, "Well, I'm
-
perfect. I got it all." But Jesus knew
-
the intent of his heart. He said, "All
-
right. If you want to be perfect."
-
Somebody say perfect.
-
What he was trying to do was presenting
-
it as, "Oh, oh, I did that. I did this.
-
I did this. So, Jesus, I'm perfect. What
-
else do I need to do? I see your
-
disciples, they're not as good as me."
-
Come on, somebody.
-
He said, Jesus said to him, "If you want
-
to be perfect, go
-
sell what you have, give it to the poor,
-
and you're you will have treasure in
-
heaven. Then he said this, when you give
-
away everything, he said, "Don't go back
-
to it, come and follow me."
-
Mhm.
-
But one of the saddest scriptures in the
-
word of God, and we're not going to end
-
sad today, but I want you to see the
-
heaviness of this moment. Verse 22, but
-
when the young man heard that saying,
-
>> [music]
-
>> or heard the terms that Jesus laid out,
-
he went away sorrowful, for he had great
-
possessions.
-
Great possessions.
-
He He heard the terms that Christ laid
-
out for him plainly and clearly, but
-
then he said, "Mhm.
-
I I I just can't accept those terms."
-
And so today, I feel the Lord's given me
-
a word for this house, and that is
-
simply this question, what are the
-
terms? Look at your neighbor, say, "What
-
are the terms?"
-
Let's pray together. Father, we give you
-
praise for your word. We give you praise
-
for your presence and your spirit. I
-
pray that you would quicken us, God, not
-
with just a logos word, but give us a
-
rhema word in this house. We give you
-
honor. We give you praise. In [music]
-
Jesus' name we pray, and everybody says,
-
"Amen." Amen. You may be seated in the
-
presence of the Lord
-
this morning.
-
What are the terms?
-
Now,
-
let me take everyone's mind to something
-
that you have done on multiple
-
occasions, and without thought, and
-
without consideration. And many of you
-
are thinking, "Wait a second. Hold on."
-
There are times in our life that we use
-
our brain, and we read papers. I I do
-
real estate, and and I every uh closing
-
that I get to, um
-
usually there is a very good person on
-
the other side of that, the title agent,
-
that will sit there and describe every
-
paper that we sign, and we put our name
-
on, and all that stuff. And And I've
-
never sat in a closing to where someone
-
literally read every line of every paper
-
they were given, especially whenever
-
they were signing for a mortgage.
-
Anybody ever seen somebody sign for a
-
mortgage? Come on. You got to put your
-
hand in a ice bath after it's done. Can
-
I get a witness? It gets wild and crazy.
-
But there was one closing that I sat in
-
and this young man on the other side of
-
the table
-
I thought he was joking. He said, "I'm
-
going to read every single word." I
-
said, "All right, that's cool, but we're
-
going to be here a while if you do that.
-
You know that, right?"
-
And Joker read every single line
-
of every paper
-
and lo and behold, it meant exactly what
-
we told him it was going to mean
-
anyways.
-
But he wanted to make sure that when I
-
put my name at the bottom of this thing,
-
hello somebody,
-
when I put my name at the bottom of this
-
thing, that I really agree to every term
-
that has been laid out in this paper.
-
But let me tell you let me let me let
-
you in a secret. Anybody have a iPhone?
-
It's all right. I'm not going to knock
-
you. It's all right. If you have a
-
Android, how dare you?
-
Come on.
-
He don't
-
What is wrong with you? Get a Get a real
-
phone. This is what Anyways.
-
But you know how it is whenever you your
-
your phone pops up and it says, "Listen,
-
uh your phone needs to be updated from
-
26.4.whatever
-
to whatever. It's going to fix the bugs
-
and all the problems and all this
-
stuff." And you say, "Okay, let's go
-
ahead." And you you put in your little
-
pa- passcode and it begins to download
-
and it gets through the whole process
-
and it installs. And sometimes even for
-
apps on the other side of that, there'll
-
be this page that pops up at some point
-
during the installation. And you know
-
how you do, it says that for you to be
-
able to continue to the download or to
-
the app, you have to accept the terms
-
and conditions that are in the contract.
-
Right?
-
Now, how many of you can be real this
-
morning
-
and say, "Pastor, I don't ever read
-
those terms and conditions." Come on.
-
Oh, yeah. If somebody in here does that,
-
God bless you. You're awesome. You will
-
probably not fight for the army of China
-
whenever it comes to Armageddon. Come
-
on. All the rest of us probably don't
-
realize it, but we volunteer for some
-
army overseas just sign I don't know.
-
Anyways, but you know HOW IT IS. WE SAY,
-
"WE AIN'T GOT TIME TO READ ALL THAT."
-
YOU KNOW, YOU SCROLL UNTIL the button
-
turns blue.
-
And say, "Just get it I got to get IT."
-
AND YOU ACCEPT it and you don't even
-
read the terms and conditions.
-
Y'all, I went back and read some of
-
those terms and conditions.
-
Hello.
-
We in trouble.
-
Come on. I'm not going to share them
-
with you right now because I don't want
-
to expose Apple. You can talk to me
-
later about that. But, we will go
-
through those things because we want the
-
update. We don't want our phone to be
-
buggy. We want the the app or whatever
-
it is. So, we'll go ahead and agree to
-
the terms because we want what's on the
-
other side of us clicking agree to the
-
terms and conditions. Now, that's with
-
the Apple device, no questions. We don't
-
ask it. But, let me say this. We'll
-
agree to Apple's terms without reading
-
them because we want the update, but
-
when God reveals his terms, suddenly we
-
want to negotiate.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
Oh, now. Can I preach for just a few
-
moments?
-
Cuz I want you to understand there are
-
times in life that the Lord lays out,
-
"THIS IS THE WAY I want you to walk in
-
it." But, then we're like, "Wait a
-
second, God. How come we got to do this,
-
this, and this? Can't we just get
-
through without having any kind of
-
responsibility on our end?"
-
Mhm. Oh, I'm preaching right now.
-
Cuz all y'all right now will listen, I'm
-
going to go back and I'm going to read
-
those terms and conditions.
-
I'm going to make sure next time I get
-
an update I'm going to read those terms
-
and conditions. But, can I tell YOU THAT
-
WE'RE GUILTY OF IT OF JUST SAYING, "AH,
-
I GOT to get through it and get done."
-
But, when God asks us to do something,
-
we got to know every little detail,
-
every little thing. And God, "What if
-
this happens? And what if that happens?
-
And God, what if I don't succeed? What
-
if I fail?" All these different THINGS
-
WHEN GOD IS JUST ASKING for our yes.
-
So, the question is this morning
-
for every one of us, do we want revival?
-
Can I get a witness in the house?
-
Now you're Now you're starting to
-
question be like, "Pastor, you're going
-
to put the terms and conditions on the
-
screen up front for us to be able to say
-
yes to that question at the end." But I
-
want you to understand, I love what you
-
said earlier whenever I asked you, "DO
-
YOU WANT REVIVAL?" WITHOUT ANY QUESTION,
-
WITHOUT ANY HESITATION, you said, "Yes,
-
we want revival in this HOUSE BECAUSE WE
-
KNOW THE EFFECTS OF REVIVAL are going to
-
be great and powerful." AND CAN I GET A
-
WITNESS IN THIS HOUSE? WE ARE RIGHT UP
-
IN the middle of revival at Liberty
-
Culture Church right now. It's not an
-
event, it's not a service. COME ON,
-
SOMEBODY. BUT IT IS AN ONGOING
-
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FATHER THAT
-
CHANGES OUR HEART and our life.
-
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS RICH YOUNG
-
RULER THAT JESUS is dealing WITH IN THIS
-
SITUATION. HE COMES STRAIGHT TO THE
-
FATHER IN THIS STORY AND HE APPROACHES
-
JESUS STARTING WITH A QUESTION, "HOW DO
-
I EARN eternal life? I want eternal
-
life, but what is it going to cost me?"
-
is what he wants to ask Jesus. Jesus
-
replied simply, we already did a minute
-
ago, "If you want eternal life, there is
-
one thing you must do. Keep the
-
commandments."
-
KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS. BE FAITHFUL TO
-
THE WORD that our Father established
-
from the very foundation of the world
-
and I think that's a pretty good way to
-
start for Can I get a witness in the
-
house? IT'S A GOOD THING FOR US TO
-
UNDERSTAND, THERE ARE REQUIREMENTS AND
-
GOD does call us to ANOTHER LEVEL. BUT
-
IN THIS MOMENT, WHAT HE WAS ASKING WAS,
-
"How do I get to eternal life?" And
-
Jesus said, "Keep my commandments."
-
But the young ruler came back with a
-
secondary question. He said, "All right,
-
which ones?"
-
WHICH REALLY BRINGS TO THE SURFACE A
-
REVEALING QUESTION FOR EACH ONE OF US IN
-
THIS HOUSE this morning. ONE THAT YOU
-
AND I HAVE TO GRAPPLE WITH AND WE CANNOT
-
DISCARD. And that question is really
-
what he's asking when he says which
-
ones, he's saying what is the bare
-
minimum requirement for me to gain
-
eternal life.
-
>> [snorts]
-
>> What is the least amount I have to do
-
and still make it in the kingdom? Come
-
on, I want to get in by the hair on my
-
chinny chin chin. Can I get a witness? I
-
want TO GET ON BY THE SKIN of my teeth.
-
But can I TELL YOU GOD HAS NOT CALLED us
-
to get in by the skin of our teeth and
-
the hair on our chin? Come on, he has
-
called us to march INTO THAT KINGDOM
-
WITH POWER AND GLORY. MATTER OF FACT, HE
-
TOLD US TO TAKE TERRITORY WHILE WE'RE
-
HERE ON THIS EARTH SO THAT WE CAN
-
ADVANCE THE KINGDOM OF GOD. IS THERE
-
ANYBODY IN THE HOUSE THIS MORNING THAT
-
WOULD SAY I'M NOT INTERESTED IN JUST THE
-
BARE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO SERVE MY
-
GOD BECAUSE HE'S DONE WAY TOO MUCH FOR
-
ME FOR ME TO SIT BACK AND BE SATISFIED
-
WITH WHERE I AM. BUT I WANT TO TELL YOU
-
HE'S BLESSED MY LIFE, HE'S REDEEMED ME,
-
HE BOUGHT ME WITH A PRICE, AND WE SHOULD
-
BE WILLING TO GIVE EVERYTHING WE HAVE TO
-
OUR SAVIOR this morning.
-
If we're honest this morning, there are
-
many of us that have been right where
-
this rich young ruler was. I want
-
everything GOD HAS FOR ME. I WANT
-
ETERNITY, I WANT THE BLESSING, BUT I
-
DON'T WANT TO BE REQUIRED TO SACRIFICE
-
things for the kingdom. So in other
-
words, what are the minimal terms that
-
we can come into agreement with?
-
WHAT WHAT IS THE SIMPLEST
-
THING THAT I CAN DO TO GAIN FAVOR WITH
-
GOD SO I CAN BE blessed and I can be
-
highly favored?
-
But Jesus came back to that young man
-
after asked him which ones.
-
And he looked at that young man laying
-
out a plain path to the heart of Christ.
-
He said if you really WANT TO KNOW WHICH
-
ONES, he said I'll list out a few. You
-
shall not murder, you shall not commit
-
adultery, you shall not steal, you shall
-
not bear false witness, honor your
-
father and mother, and you shall love
-
your neighbor as yourself.
-
And that's let me say this is a pretty
-
comprehensive list and it touches every
-
part of our life. It touches exterior,
-
it touches our heart, touches our mind,
-
it touches all the roads that lead
-
straight to the Lord. And all he was
-
wanting that young man to do is say, "I
-
don't know if I can make it, but if you
-
help me, I'll make it."
-
I don't KNOW IF I HAVE WHAT IT TAKES,
-
BUT REALLY HE WAS HIDING AND DISGUISING
-
THINGS ON THE BACK END. AND WHEN HE CAME
-
BACK WITH THE ANSWER AFTER THAT, AND HE
-
SAID, "EVERY ONE OF THESE COMMANDMENTS
-
YOU'VE LISTED OUT, I kept them from my
-
youth." Liar, liar, pants on fire.
-
He done lied.
-
Any person that calls theirself perfect,
-
mm.
-
You better watch out.
-
Come on, I'm teaching. This is This is
-
the logos part. We're going to get to
-
the rhema here in a minute.
-
But I got to lay a foundation to let you
-
understand where the Holy Spirit is
-
taking us as a church.
-
But then, he came back and gave him a
-
follow-up question after his statement
-
said, "I'm perfect." But he said, "Now,
-
Jesus, what do I still lack?"
-
What do I still lack? And let me tell
-
you, there is a battle that IS GOING ON
-
BEHIND the question that the young man
-
is asking. And let's unfold that battle.
-
And it is the longest standing battle in
-
the history of mankind. The battle that
-
still wages on even this morning as we
-
sit here today inside of each one of us.
-
And it is the battle of the flesh versus
-
the spirit. Look at your neighbor say,
-
"It's flesh versus spirit this morning,
-
baby." This is what I want you to see.
-
These are two heavyweights going at it
-
every second of every day. Each one
-
staking claim to our eternal spirit
-
that's only inside of us. Because this
-
battle isn't for temporary pleasure or
-
for momentary victory. THIS BATTLE THAT
-
IS GOING ON THE INSIDE OF US is
-
literally OVER YOUR ETERNITY AND MY
-
ETERNITY AND THE ETERNITY OF YOUR
-
CHILDREN. WE'RE NOT IN THIS THING JUST
-
TO GO THROUGH LIFE. BABY, WE ARE AT WAR
-
this morning. Come on, somebody. LET ME
-
WAKE YOU UP AND LET YOU KNOW, YOU AND I
-
ARE AT WAR THIS MORNING. And the enemy
-
is playing for keeps. And I think it's
-
time FOR THE CHURCH TO RISE AGAIN AND
-
SAY I'M NOT GOING TO LET THE ENEMY TAKE
-
MY TEMPORARY AND MY ETERNAL, BUT I'M
-
GOING TO STAKE MY CLAIM RIGHT NOW IN
-
THIS HOUSE and say devil, YOU CAN TRY
-
IT, BUT BLESSED IS THE NAME OF THE LORD
-
AND GREATER IS HE THAT'S INSIDE OF ME
-
THAN HE THAT'S IN THE WORLD. WATCH THIS.
-
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO
-
GIVES ME STRENGTH. ARE THERE ANY
-
WARRIORS IN THE HOUSE THIS MORNING THAT
-
WILL SAY I'M NOT GOING TO LOSE THE
-
FIGHT? I'M NOT GOING TO LET THE ENEMY
-
WIN. MY FLESH WILL NOT DOMINATE MY LIFE.
-
I [screaming] WILL BE VICTORIOUS THROUGH
-
THE BLOOD of Jesus Christ.
-
I WILL BE VICTORIOUS. WATCH WHAT
-
GALATIANS 5 SAYS. Check this out. HE
-
SAID, "I SAY THEN, WALK in the spirit
-
and you shall not fulfill the lust of
-
the flesh. For the flesh lusts against
-
the spirit and the spirit against the
-
flesh, and these are contrary to one
-
another, so that you do not DO THE
-
THINGS THAT YOU WISH." WATCH THIS. What
-
you and I feed the most will be the most
-
dominant in our life.
-
Let me break this down. I preached this
-
for years to young people in youth
-
groups, in youth rallies, in
-
conferences. What you feed THE MOST WILL
-
DOMINATE your life. If you feed your
-
flesh, guess what? Your flesh will have
-
control over every aspect of your life.
-
But on the other side of that, IF YOU
-
STARVE that sucker and you feed the
-
spirit, you're going to walk in power
-
and you're going to walk in authority
-
that you've never had before. I want to
-
preach to a bunch of folk in the HOUSE
-
THIS MORNING. I'M LOOKING AT LIBERTY
-
Culture and letting YOU KNOW WE ARE NOT
-
GOING TO FEED THE FLESH. WE'RE GOING to
-
starve IT. WE'RE GOING TO CRUCIFY IT.
-
WE'RE GOING TO PUT IT UNDER THE BLOOD
-
AND WE'RE GOING TO FEED THE SPIRIT IN
-
THIS HOUSE. I WANT TO TELL YOU WE'RE
-
ABOUT TO HAVE AN ERUPTION OF THE POWER
-
OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD IN THIS PLACE TO
-
WHERE MEN AND WOMEN ARE ABOUT TO GET SET
-
FREE. COME ON. I BELIEVE THOSE THAT ARE
-
BOUND BY DRUGS ARE ABOUT TO BE SET FREE.
-
THOSE THAT ARE BROKEN IN THEIR SPIRIT
-
ARE ABOUT TO BE SET FREE. I JUST NEED A
-
CHURCH THAT'LL GET WITH ME THIS MORNING
-
AND SAY I BELIEVE THE TERMS ARE GOOD.
-
LET'S GO FOR REVIVAL IN JESUS NAME.
-
I'm going for revival. I got a long way
-
to go. I got to I got to hurry.
-
If we feed the the spirit
-
then the flesh is automatically going to
-
be starved.
-
And the battle in our heart will not be
-
as intense
-
over eternity. I didn't say the battle
-
wouldn't be intense. I didn't say the
-
enemy wouldn't try to tempt you. I
-
didn't say the enemy wouldn't try to
-
pull you away. The Bible says we are
-
drawn away by our own lust and enticed.
-
There is something deep on the inside of
-
us, our flesh nature that has to be
-
crucified so it doesn't become dominant,
-
so it cannot control my actions, my
-
thoughts, my words. Come on, where I go,
-
my friendships, my marriage, my
-
business, my finances, my career. Let's
-
talk about all of it this morning and
-
let you know that if we don't crucify
-
the flesh, the flesh will try to gain
-
dominance in every part of your life.
-
Inside of our lives we have a choice
-
[snorts] this morning
-
and there is a clear tension in the
-
scripture that we have to grapple with.
-
And it's one that we cannot run from
-
and be able to walk in victory at the
-
same time.
-
Some people say, "Well, pastor, if I
-
ignore my flesh long enough, then it'll
-
go away." Ain't wrong.
-
If you ignore your flesh long enough,
-
you're actually feeding it.
-
Oh, yeah.
-
If you say, "Well, let's just put it in
-
the background. Let's just Hey, let's
-
sweep it under the rug. I know I've got
-
TENDENCIES THAT THAT DRIVE ME LATE AT
-
NIGHT TO LOOK on the internet for
-
pornography, BUT LET'S NOT TALK ABOUT
-
IT."
-
HELLO, SOMEBODY.
-
WOO!
-
I feel like preaching now.
-
I found my place.
-
Cuz here's what you don't understand.
-
We'll say, "I have I I know I have
-
tendencies to be ANGRY AND BE AND BE ILL
-
AND HAVE ANGER TOWARD MY WIFE, BUT I
-
DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT I DON'T WANT TO
-
DEAL WITH IT. YOU BETTER deal with it.
-
Come on.
-
Hello, somebody.
-
I HAVE TENDENCY TO TO TO SAY THINGS THAT
-
AREN'T MY BUSINESS AND RUN MY MOUTH
-
ABOUT EVERYBODY ELSE. LISTEN, IF THAT'S
-
THE CASE, then you don't need TO BE IN
-
EVERY CONVERSATION on every corner.
-
Hello.
-
You say You say, "WELL, MY MY PAST
-
MARRIAGE FAILED BECAUSE BECAUSE I
-
STEPPED OUT ON MY WIFE, AND NOW I'VE GOT
-
A FRIEND, BUT SHE'S a girl."
-
Come on, somebody.
-
It got really quiet right there.
-
And that makes me nervous.
-
We We don't give place to the devil. Can
-
I get a witness?
-
Come on. Where my married folk at in the
-
house? Come on, I need some married folk
-
that'll give God some praise right
-
there. THAT IS YOUR CASTLE. THAT IS YOUR
-
QUEEN, SIR. COME ON. I DECLARE UNTO YOU,
-
YOU NEED TO STEP UP AND FIGHT FOR YOUR
-
WIFE IN PRAYER and reading. COVER HER
-
WITH EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT. Don't you
-
let the devil TALK YOU OUT OF THE
-
GREATEST BLESSING OF YOUR LIFE.
-
All right. I thought I had a few more
-
men. Thank you for standing up, fellas.
-
I I will put this microphone down. I'm
-
going to clap for myself cuz I'm going
-
to fight for my wife. I'm going to fight
-
for my family. And when I turn around,
-
there better be some men standing UP AND
-
CLAPPING.
-
>> [applause]
-
>> COME ON. WE GOT TO LEARN TO FIGHT FOR
-
WHAT GOD GAVE US.
-
>> [applause]
-
>> NOW,
-
I didn't anticipate going there, but
-
there it is.
-
Because the fact is, each one of us
-
battle flesh
-
every single day of our life.
-
And here's how we always Here's Here's
-
how the tendency is.
-
Instead of dealing with it,
-
we will either ignore it or we'll
-
mislabel it.
-
That's just the devil, pastor. No, it's
-
your flesh.
-
Hello, somebody. Can I preach this for a
-
little bit right now? We try to say,
-
"Oh, it's some It's the devil THE
-
DEVIL'S ON MY BACK, PASTOR. The devil
-
THE DEVIL'S TRYING TO GET me over here
-
and the devil's trying to get me to run
-
away on my wife and the devil's trying
-
to get me to look at pornography." NO,
-
THAT IS YOUR OWN LUST DRAWING you away
-
and letting you be enticed. There has to
-
come a situation and A MOMENT IN YOUR
-
LIFE ON YOUR FAITH TO SAY, "I REFUSE TO
-
LET MY FLESH STAY ENTANGLED." WHO SHALL
-
DELIVER me from this body OF FLESH? WHO
-
SHALL DELIVER ME FROM THIS BODY OF
-
DEATH? COME ON, YOU GOT TO CRUCIFY YOUR
-
FLESH EVERY SINGLE DAY. PAUL EVEN SAID,
-
"I DIE DAILY TO MY FLESH."
-
And if he CAN GIVE US INSTRUCTIONS ON
-
HOW TO FOLLOW GOD IN THIS PRESENT AGE,
-
THEN CERTAINLY WE CAN listen to that
-
instruction
-
and crucify our flesh. Look at your
-
neighbor and say, "Crucify your flesh."
-
Now, I I know Hey, hey, I feel you. It's
-
a little rocky right now.
-
I know it's bumpy. I know it's
-
uncomfortable.
-
I know we're in some turbulent air,
-
but I did that on purpose so we can get
-
to the good air later.
-
We're going to shout. We're going to get
-
excited. All that stuff's good, but we
-
have to deal with our flesh nature first
-
to be able to get to where God wants us
-
to be.
-
Cuz here's what I want you to
-
understand. The tension that's in the
-
scripture
-
is this. We can either walk in the
-
spirit
-
or we can gratify the flesh. You can't
-
do both.
-
All right? We can either cultivate the
-
fruit of the spirit or we can
-
accommodate the flesh to feel
-
comfortable.
-
All right? When you're cultivating, it's
-
work.
-
Hello.
-
Can Can we talk real for just a moment?
-
I I Is everybody with me so far?
-
Everybody with me? Everybody hanging
-
with me? All right, we're going to get
-
there. But, watch this. If you are
-
willingly and and actively with
-
everything you have cultivating the
-
fruit of the Spirit in your life, you do
-
not re- leave room to accommodate the
-
flesh.
-
Okay? Why you think David got in the
-
spot he did whenever he was at home
-
rather than being in battle?
-
Come on. He was up on his rooftop when
-
he should have been leading his men in
-
the battle, but instead he was on his
-
rooftop looked to his next-door neighbor
-
and said, "Ooh, she's taking a bath."
-
Hello.
-
I don't know where all this is coming
-
from.
-
But, what I want to tell you, if he
-
would have been out there cultivating
-
the fruit of his labors and being right
-
in the middle of the battle where he
-
should have been as the leader of the
-
nation, then he would not have been able
-
to cast longing eyes on Uriah's wife
-
when he should have been in battle and
-
pulling her over into his bed and
-
committing adultery, covering up with
-
another sin, putting Uriah on THE FRONT
-
LINE. CAN I tell YOU IF YOU ACCOMMODATE
-
THE FLESH, YOU WILL HAVE TO CONTINUALLY
-
ACCOMMODATE it every single DAY OF YOUR
-
LIFE. BUT, THERE IS SOMETHING SO FREEING
-
ABOUT CRUCIFYING YOUR FLESH AND SAY, "I
-
KNOW I STRUGGLE WITH IT THEN, BUT GOD,
-
I'M BRINGING IT TO YOU. I'M PUTTING IT
-
ON THE ALTAR. I'M CRUCIFYING IT." AND
-
THEN, GUESS WHAT? HE WHO THE SON SETS
-
FREE IS FREE INDEED. DO I HAVE ANY FREE
-
FOLK IN THE HOUSE TODAY THAT WOULD SAY,
-
"I'M THANKFUL. I'VE BEEN FREED BY THE
-
BLOOD OF JESUS. I'M THANKFUL. I'VE BEEN
-
FREED FROM THE CLUTCHES OF SIN." COME
-
ON. I WISH I HAD SOMEBODY THAT'LL GIVE
-
GOD A FREE PRAISE, A SHOUT UNTO GOD.
-
ONE, TWO, THREE, GIVE HIM GLORY FOR THE
-
FACT THAT WE'VE BEEN SET FREE.
-
WE DON'T ACCOMMODATE, we crucify.
-
And so, today we must make a de- de- the
-
deliberate decision, rather, to starve
-
the flesh and feed the spirits. We must
-
make the decision to READ THE WORD, PRAY
-
CONTINUOUSLY, STAY connected to the Holy
-
Spirit. WORSHIP, SERVE, AND WATCH THIS,
-
BE LED by the Holy Spirit.
-
Galatians 5:18 says, "But if you are led
-
by the Spirit, you are not under the
-
law."
-
And so, the question, however,
-
from the rich young ruler still remains
-
and hovers over our life.
-
What he asked Jesus after Jesus laid it
-
all out,
-
and he said, "I've done all that."
-
And he said, "What do I still
-
lack?"
-
What what am What am I missing?
-
And so, Jesus at that point says, "All
-
right, there's other people listening.
-
There's probably Pharisees and Sadducees
-
and all the C's. Come on, everybody
-
listening. And everybody standing
-
around, his disciples listening. And he
-
said, "Okay, let's get let's get down to
-
brass tacks right here." He said, "Watch
-
this. If you want to be perfect."
-
Somebody shout perfect.
-
All right. Now, we're going to unlock
-
that in just a moment. He said, "GO SELL
-
WHAT YOU HAVE, give it to the poor, and
-
you will have treasure in heaven." And
-
then he said, "Then come and follow me."
-
Now, many people read the word perfect,
-
and they think THAT JESUS WAS DESCRIBING
-
TO HIM TO be without flaw or without
-
blemish or without any kind of sin, but
-
that's not really what Jesus WAS SAYING.
-
IT DOES MEAN, HOWEVER, that Jesus was
-
saying if you want to be complete or
-
whole inside of me. If you want to be
-
complete in me. If you want to be whole
-
in Christ. And watch this, then you have
-
to come to me and be perfect. Now, let's
-
talk about perfection. Perfection and
-
the way our western mindset says, when
-
we look at it being without flaw, this
-
is how our mind works. Perfection speaks
-
not to relationship, but perfection
-
speaks to performance. Somebody say
-
performance.
-
And perfection cannot be achieved
-
through our performance or our own
-
effort. No one is perfect, and no one is
-
good.
-
Come on, you say, "Well, pastor, that
-
sounds really encouraging." Well, it is
-
because Jesus even said that.
-
HE SAID, "WHO ARE YOU CALLING GOOD?"
-
RIGHT? Read it. We just read it A MINUTE
-
AGO. HE SAID, "WHO ARE YOU CALL THERE'S
-
NOT ONE GOOD EXCEPT FOR MY FATHER."
-
SO, EVEN JESUS SAID, "Let's get on a
-
playing field right here where you can
-
UNDERSTAND ME. IT'S NOT ABOUT HOW YOU
-
PERFORM, IT'S ABOUT WHO YOU'RE CONNECTED
-
TO."
-
OH, come on, SOMEBODY. I'M THANKFUL I'M
-
CONNECTED to one, and his name IS JESUS
-
CHRIST. I'M THANKFUL I'M CONNECTED TO
-
THE ONE WHO CAN BRING DEAD THINGS BACK
-
TO LIFE. I'M THANKFUL I'M CONNECTED TO
-
THE ONE WHO CAN TAKE A MARRIAGE THAT'S
-
SPIRALING OUT OF CONTROL AND PUT IT BACK
-
ON A ROCK. I'M THANKFUL I'M CONNECTED TO
-
ONE THAT WHEN MY MIND GOES CRAZY AND
-
EVERYTHING'S SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL, HE
-
CAN STAND UP AND SAY, "PEACE BE STILL."
-
IS THERE ANYBODY THAT'S THANKFUL WE'RE
-
CONNECTED TO THE ONE?
-
Understand this,
-
that we cannot achieve
-
perfection through performance because
-
we're not good enough.
-
We're not good enough.
-
And let me break this down
-
and give God praise, is that even though
-
perfection is what is required for us to
-
get to heaven,
-
hang with me for a second,
-
we can't be perfect,
-
but to get into heaven, we have to be
-
perfect.
-
>> [snorts]
-
>> Hang with me.
-
We cannot achieve this on our own,
-
and that's why Jesus didn't leave us
-
without hope.
-
He actually made a way for us to be
-
PRESENTED BEFORE THE FATHER AS PERFECT,
-
EVEN THOUGH OUR ACTIONS DID NOT BACK IT
-
UP. COME ON, SOMEBODY. Oh my God, that
-
means you and I are covered with
-
something called grace and mercy. THAT
-
COULD NOT BE EARNED, IT COULD NOT BE
-
BOUGHT. You can't even perform YOUR WAY
-
INTO IT. BUT I WANT TO KNOW, IS THERE
-
ANYBODY THANKFUL FOR A COVERING OF GRACE
-
AND MERCY THIS MORNING THAT EVEN WHEN I
-
MESS IT UP, HE STILL COMES BY AND SAYS
-
I'LL PUT MY BLOOD BACK ON IT AND I'LL
-
BACK COME ON SOMEBODY IN THIS HOUSE. THE
-
WORD OF GOD OVERRULED THE ENEMY'S
-
POSITION ON US AND THE REQUIREMENTS THAT
-
YOU AND I OWED, THE DEBT THAT WE SHOULD
-
HAVE to pay. JESUS CANCELED IT ON THE
-
CROSS WHEN HE SAID IT IS ACCOMPLISHED.
-
HOW DO YOU KNOW? LET'S TALK ABOUT IT.
-
COLOSSIANS CHAPTER 2 verse number 14
Colossians 2 chapter mention
-
SAYS HAVING WIPED OUT THE HANDWRITING OF
-
REQUIREMENTS THAT WAS AGAINST US, WHICH
-
WAS CONTRARY TO US, HE HAS TAKEN US OUT
-
OF THE WAY HAVING NAILED IT TO THE
-
CROSS. AND THEN LUKE 22:20 saying this,
-
Jesus said TO HIS DISCIPLES, "THIS CUP
-
IS THE NEW COVENANT in my BLOOD WHICH IS
-
SHED FOR YOU." AND THEN HE STEPS INTO
-
HEBREWS chapter 12:24. IT SAYS TO JESUS,
-
he is the mediator OF THE NEW COVENANT
-
AND THE BLOOD AND TO THE BLOOD of the
-
sprinkling that speaks better things
-
THAN ABEL COULD EVER SPEAK. In other
-
words, THROUGH THE BLOOD, THE
-
HANDWRITING THAT WAS AGAINST US WAS
-
KNOCKED OUT AND THE COVENANT WAS WRITTEN
-
IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST AND TODAY
-
his blood is speaking A BETTER WORD OVER
-
EVERY ONE OF US IN THIS HOUSE. I MAY NOT
-
BE PERFECT RIGHT NOW, BUT WHEN THE BLOOD
-
GETS ON ME, ALL THE KING SEES IS THE
-
BLOOD OF HIS SON. IS THERE ANYBODY
-
THANKFUL FOR THE BLOOD OF JESUS THAT
-
WASHES ME WHITE AS SNOW? ARE YOU
-
THANKFUL FOR THE BLOOD OF JESUS THAT
-
TAKES THE HANDWRITING OF REQUIREMENTS
-
RIGHT OUT AND REWRITES MY STORY? ONE,
-
TWO, THREE, GIVE HIM PRAISE FOR THE
-
BLOOD THIS MORNING.
-
OKAY, I SAID GIVE HIM PRAISE FOR THE
-
BLOOD THIS MORNING.
-
The handwriting of requirements
-
was given
-
to Christ,
-
but he took it, covered in his blood,
-
and nailed it to
-
the cross.
-
There was a handwriting against us,
-
but at Calvary
-
or rather at Calvary, Jesus nailed it to
-
the cross and established a new covenant
-
that was written in his blood.
-
Now, for the new covenant though,
-
I want you to understand
-
that we may have some terms in the old
-
covenant, but when the new covenant came
-
along, there were some updated terms and
-
conditions. Can I get a witness?
-
Can we Can we talk real quick about
-
updated terms and conditions?
-
Y'all know when you get your iPhone out,
-
we talked about that before. You just
-
want it. Give it to me. But let me talk
-
about this. In the Old Testament,
-
whenever adultery happened,
-
they would take them if they caught them
-
in the act of adultery, it didn't really
-
matter. They stoned them. Come on,
-
that's just what happens.
-
But if they were accused of it, they
-
would take the lady and they would make
-
her go through what you call the trial
-
of bitter waters in the temple.
-
And they would make her drink dirt from
-
the temple floor mixed with water and
-
mixed with ink. And if her thigh swelled
-
at the end of that, she was guilty and
-
they would stone her and they would go
-
back and they would take care of
-
business with her husband, too.
-
Mhm.
-
Those are intense terms.
-
But that's the terms that God laid out
-
in the Old Testament and that sounds
-
very crazy and that sounds very radical
-
and it is very radical because if you
-
drink dirt mixed with water and tea,
-
your thigh would probably swell, too.
-
Can I get a witness?
-
But something happened in that transfer.
-
If they were not telling the truth, they
-
would be found out and they would be
-
stoned to death in the temple and it
-
would be taken care of because they had
-
to purge sin from the camp.
-
Come on. Sin was the enemy back then to
-
our flesh and sin is still the enemy
-
now. So, let's pass it through the
-
cross. That was old covenant. Now, let's
-
go to the new covenant and now we see
-
what Jesus said. He established
-
something even more intense than that.
-
You say, "What you talking about?
-
There's still bills of divorcement." I
-
see that and that was written to to
-
appease and to get us to a place where
-
we could still live and not be bound by
-
things contractually from our old law.
-
But watch this, Jesus amplified it from
-
what it was in the Old Testament. He did
-
not reduce it, he amplified it. He said
-
this, "If you look at a woman
-
and you look at her with lust in your
-
heart,
-
the Bible says you have already
-
committed adultery with her in your
-
heart."
-
No touchy,
-
just looky.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
That's much more intense
-
than getting caught. If you got caught,
-
boom, you guilty, you going to die. Come
-
on.
-
But now, if you look with lustful intent
-
in your heart at another woman when you
-
are married, sir,
-
it is amplified and guess what? Whether
-
you believe it or not, you agreed to
-
those terms and conditions.
-
When you came and said yes to Jesus,
-
"Well, I had never read that before."
-
Well, I just read it to you.
-
It's in there.
-
IT'S CUZ UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE CALLED
-
TO BE RIGHTEOUS IN THE EYES OF GOD.
-
You say, "Well, WELL, LET'S JUST THERE'S
-
THE BLOOD. IT CUT THE GRACE. OH, LET'S
-
THE MERCY OF GOD, PASTOR." YEAH, YOU'RE
-
RIGHT. ALL THAT IS THERE FOR THE MOMENTS
-
THAT WE MESS UP AND WE WE TRIP UP AND WE
-
DO THINGS WE SHOULD NOT DO, BUT THERE IS
-
STILL A REQUIREMENT FOR US TO LIVE in a
-
righteous STATE WITH OUR FATHER IN
-
HEAVEN.
-
WE CANNOT ESCAPE THESE THINGS. MATTER OF
-
FACT, PAUL SAID, "SHOULD WE ALLOW GRACE
-
TO BE THERE AND JUST TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
-
IT?" NO, HE SAID, "GOD FORBID. We don't
-
do those kind of things. We live right,
-
we live holy according to this WORD AND
-
ACCORDING TO WHAT WE KNOW. WE ARE
-
RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT WE KNOW."
-
And so, if you didn't know that coming
-
in, now you can know it going out.
-
And so now, we have the terms that have
-
been accepted and they've been updated
-
and it's called the new covenant. Look
-
Look neighbor and say, "The new
-
covenant."
-
But watch THIS. IF WE'RE REALLY GOING TO
-
ACCEPT THE TERMS and understand the the
-
terms that God has given us to be able
-
to embrace revival in these last days,
-
we have to understand that biblical
-
surrender is relinquishing complete
-
control to God.
-
Ooh, look at your neighbor say,
-
"Surrender."
-
Ooh, we're going to talk about the
-
Here's the terms. Are you ready for the
-
terms of revival? Let me go ahead and
-
let the cat out of the bag. The terms
-
for revival is full surrender. Look at
-
your neighbor say, "Surrender all." You
-
got to You got to surrender all.
-
Biblical surrender is relinquishing
-
control, giving your life entirely to
-
Christ's authority. This requires living
-
in a constant state of surrender, and
-
our desire to control things in our
-
lives must be crucified.
-
Ooh.
-
I am preaching this morning.
-
Somebody say, "Crucify the flesh."
-
Because we are in a spot in our heart in
-
our life that we must crucify the flesh.
-
And let me add this caveat.
-
When we crucify the flesh and we get rid
-
of the flesh, that doesn't mean we can
-
come to God and negotiate.
-
We should not try to negotiate with God.
-
How do we negotiate with God? God asks
-
us to do something to say, "Well, I I I
-
know you said to do this, but but what
-
if I did this?"
-
I I GOD GOD, I KNOW YOU'RE CALLING ME
-
FOR TO TO GIVE MY LIFE COMPLETELY TO YOU
-
and to turn this THING OVER, THIS VICE
-
THAT I'VE BEEN HOLDING ON TO. I I I'VE
-
BEEN I'VE BEEN RUNNING DOWN THIS ROAD
-
FOR LONG ENOUGH, AND I KNOW you want me
-
to let GO OF IT, BUT WHAT IF I HANG ON
-
TO IT FOR ONE MORE
-
WEEK?
-
WHAT WHAT IF I HOLD ON THIS
-
UNFORGIVENESS ONE MORE WEEK? YOU DON'T
-
KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO HURT ME.
-
HELLO, SOMEBODY.
-
You don't KNOW HOW THEY TALKED ABOUT ME
-
THIS PAST WEEK. SHOULD I HUG THEM?
-
SHOULD I KISS HIM? SHOULD I HOLD on to
-
him or should I punch him? Come on
-
somebody.
-
And we have TO STEP INTO A PLACE WHERE
-
WE UNDERSTAND THAT GOD AFFORDS US GRACE
-
SO THAT WE DON'T NEGOTIATE WITH HIM, BUT
-
SO WE CAN BE EMPOWERED BY HIM TO
-
OVERCOME THE flesh and overcome anything
-
the enemy brings against our life. TIME
-
AND SPACE WITH GOD IS NOT SO WE CAN
-
NEGOTIATE THE CONTRACT or the terms.
-
TIME AND SPACE WITH GOD IS SO WE CAN GET
-
OUR HEART RIGHT AND DO WHAT HE TOLD us
-
to do.
-
Oh, come on somebody.
-
And oh, you better go ahead and give God
-
praise. That's y'all I'm preaching
-
better than y'all letting on today.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Because the truth is many people in this
-
house you have been guilty of it just
-
like I have. You've taken space with God
-
and you said, "God, now let's really
-
talk about this.
-
You know, last time I tried to make
-
things right with them, this is what
-
happened.
-
You know, you know, last time I tried to
-
really dive into the word, this is what
-
happened. You You know, LAST TIME I
-
TRIED TO WALK away from this type of
-
lifestyle, this is what happened. People
-
abolished me and they tried to attack me
-
and people looked down to their end of
-
their nose at me. Let me tell you
-
something, if you're in this house and
-
you are struggling in any kind of
-
alternate lifestyle, you are struggling
-
with addiction, you are struggling with
-
brokenness, you are struggling with a
-
life just spiraling out of control, we
-
are not going to judge you one bit IN
-
THIS HOUSE. AND IF SOMEBODY DOES, I WILL
-
take care of them and I'll deal with
-
them. But I'm going to tell YOU YOU HAVE
-
FOUND YOURSELF IN A SAFE PLACE where
-
there is A SAVIOR WHO HAS TERMS READY
-
FOR YOU TODAY AND ALL HE'S SAYING IS
-
COME TO ME AND I'M GOING TO BLESS YOUR
-
LIFE. COME TO ME AND I'M GOING TO GIVE
-
YOU EVERYTHING YOU DREAMED OF. COME TO
-
ME AND I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU FREEDOM
-
FROM EVERY ADDICTION AND EVERY BONDAGE.
-
WOO.
-
And the fact is all he's waiting on us
-
to do
-
is surrender.
-
Just surrender to him because the fact
-
is surrender
-
is not just mere intellectual agreement
-
that Jesus is Lord. Not just here, it's
-
got to go from here to here.
-
It's a deliberate choice to make Christ
-
the governing force over every dimension
-
of our existence. Romans 12:1 says, "I
-
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
-
mercies of God that you present your
-
bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
-
acceptable to God, which is your
-
reasonable service."
-
And let me say this, this is not just a
-
one-time transaction, either.
-
This is where uh there's some doctrinal
-
differences between me and some of my
-
brothers and sisters in Christ that it's
-
a one-time transaction. Let me tell you
-
something, it is a heart posture that is
-
continual and it has substantial cost in
-
our life.
-
Because it requires us to crucify our
-
flesh rather than to accommodate our
-
flesh. Jesus taught it like this, that
-
if you're going to follow him, you have
-
to deny yourself.
-
Taking up your cross daily and following
-
him. We must be willing to give up
-
everything to be his disciple.
-
TO FOLLOW HIM IS NOT SELF-CARE, it's
-
self-denial.
-
Did y'all see that?
-
Self-care says all about me. Self-denial
-
says all about him.
-
And so that's what he's looking for.
-
Luke 14:33 says, "So, you cannot become
-
my disciple without giving up everything
-
you own."
-
Pretty plain, right?
-
So, not only is there a dangerousness
-
negotiating with God in those spaces of
-
grace, but there is also a danger when
-
we stop crucifying the flesh and
-
allowing it to do what it wants to do in
-
our life. Because then, watch this, we
-
start negotiating with our flesh.
-
Well, listen, I know I know you're
-
tired.
-
It's been a long week.
-
And everybody's been coming against you.
-
One cigarette ain't going to matter.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
Hello.
-
>> [clears throat]
-
>> Okay, it is on. Okay. Just making sure.
-
It's been a long week.
-
One glass ain't going to be too big of a
-
deal
-
until it turns into two and three, and
-
then it turns into fighting and
-
adultery,
-
and a life that has drifted away from
-
God.
-
Hear my heart this morning.
-
The enemy wants us to stop fighting and
-
have no fight left in us because watch
-
this, he knows if we step into the
-
fight, we're not stepping in the fight
-
by ourselves.
-
Oh, man. He can handle our little
-
idiosyncrasies, but the moment we step
-
up and we say, "No, devil."
-
Oh, come on. Can I get some folk in the
-
house that are get with me? The moment
-
that you'll step up and say, "No,
-
devil." And you put your foot down and
-
just take a stand, can I tell you the
-
spirit of God will raise up a standard
-
against the enemy so quick that he don't
-
even have time to blink, and that's why
-
the enemy wants to take the fight out of
-
you. Cuz when you get in the fight,
-
Jesus steps in the fight with you. Come
-
on. I GOT CONFIDENCE AND WHEN I BATTLE
-
MY FLESH, I AIN'T BATTLING BY MYSELF,
-
BABY. I AM BATTLING WITH ALL THE
-
AUTHORITY OF HEAVEN RIGHT BEHIND ME, AND
-
THE DEVIL BETTER WATCH OUT BECAUSE
-
WHENEVER GOD'S WITH ME, WHO CAN BE
-
AGAINST ME? I WANT TO KNOW, IS THERE
-
ANYBODY IN THE HOUSE THAT SAY, "I'M
-
THANKFUL I DON'T FIGHT BY MYSELF, BUT I
-
FIGHT WITH THE POWER OF THE KING. I
-
DON'T FIGHT BY MYSELF, BUT I FIGHT WITH
-
MY ELDER BROTHER. I FIGHT WITH THE GLORY
-
IN ME. I FIGHT WITH power in my family,
-
AND GUESS WHAT? I'M GOING TO [screaming]
-
WIN IN JESUS' NAME."
-
LOOK AT YOUR NEIGHBOR SAY, "I'm going to
-
win."
-
I'm going to win. I'm going to win. I'm
-
going to win. Cuz when we choose to
-
fight, the Lord will fight on our side.
-
I'm going to tell you we aren't called
-
to compromise spiritually. We are not
-
called to negotiate with the devil. Oh,
-
I feel like preaching this morning.
-
We're not called to negotiate with our
-
flesh. Let me say it three times cuz
-
it's nice and it's beautiful. No. No.
-
No. I was raised like this. No is not a
-
absolute option, but no is a complete
-
sentence in Jesus name. When I tell the
-
devil no, when I tell my flesh no, I
-
mean what I say, and I'm going to say
-
what I mean. That means no temptation
-
that got me in the last season is going
-
to come and get me in this season, but
-
I'm going TO STEP IN FAITH AND SAY
-
GREATER IS HE THAT'S in me than he
-
that's in the world. I KNOW YOU GOT ME
-
LAST SEASON, DEVIL, BUT NO, NO, NO, NOT
-
THIS SEASON. I KNOW YOU GOT MY FAMILY
-
LAST SEASON, BUT NO, NO, NO, DEVIL,
-
YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET ME THIS SEASON.
-
I WISH I HAD SOME FOLK IN THE HOUSE THAT
-
WOULD GET A NO IN YOUR SPIRIT AND SAY,
-
"DEVIL, YOU MESSED with my family LAST
-
SEASON, BUT NOT TODAY, [music]
-
NOT TOMORROW, NOT THIS NEXT SEASON, CUZ
-
I AM STEPPING IN TO A BRAND NEW SEASON
-
IN JESUS." COME ON, IF YOU'RE READY FOR
-
A NEW SEASON, I DARE YOU TO GIVE GOD
-
ABOUT 15 SECONDS OF PRAISE IN THE HOUSE.
-
COME ON, DO I HAVE A CHURCH THAT'LL SAY,
-
"GOD, LET me step into a new season."
-
I'm stepping into a new season, and I'm
-
going to say it like this, "Stop
-
negotiating with what God told you to
-
crucify."
-
>> [music]
-
>> Uh-huh. Oh, yeah.
-
Hallelujah, cuz watch this, every
-
negotiation you have with the flesh
-
comes at an expense of something in the
-
spirit realm. So, my question to you and
-
I this morning is this, what are we
-
missing from God because we keep
-
negotiating with what God told us to
-
crucify? What does God have for us in
-
THE HEAVENLIES THAT WE'VE GOT our
-
attention off of that and trying to
-
negotiate with a flesh to make our life
-
more comfortable. No, baby, it ain't
-
going to be comfortable. You're going to
-
have to GO THROUGH SOME FIERY TRIALS.
-
YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH some
-
hurt. You're going to have to go through
-
some pain, BUT YOU WON'T GO THROUGH BY
-
YOURSELF, AND ON THE OTHER SIDE, YOU'RE
-
NOT GOING TO BE LESS, YOU'RE GOING TO BE
-
GREATER IN JESUS NAME. SOMEBODY HOLLER
-
GREATER.
-
COME ON, HOLLER GREATER.
-
In Jesus name, I'll be greater.
-
Galatians 5:
-
24 says it like this,
-
and those who are Christ's have
-
crucified the flesh with its passions
-
and desires.
-
That means you don't just crucify the
-
hand.
-
Hit it in the heart.
-
Come on, somebody.
-
Hit the enemy in the heart,
-
and don't let him come back,
-
and don't let him try to take advantage,
-
but you step up to who he is. Come on,
-
close me outside.
-
Here's what I want to tell you.
-
To some,
-
crucifying
-
and saying no to the flesh sounds
-
destructive.
-
And let me tell Let me be honest with
-
you, there is a destructive part of
-
this.
-
That means you have to destruct
-
everything in your mind
-
that is a thought that brings itself
-
against the knowledge of God.
-
Watch this.
-
And it's not even taking it captive,
-
it is killing it.
-
Like, if I've got a captive
-
and I'm in the army,
-
like, I would be that guy
-
that would kill him when nobody else is
-
looking. Come on, somebody.
-
I don't want that jerk coming back.
-
That's where the children of Israel got
-
into a a bad situation
-
because they allowed the things to stay
-
alive that God said kill.
-
They allowed certain people to live.
-
Oh, I just feel that's brutal. No,
-
listen, if it's a flesh nature, crucify
-
your flesh.
-
I know this is not the most popular
-
message. Everybody's like, well, I'm not
-
coming back next week. Please come back.
-
Who knows? Next week I may preach one
-
where we'll just swing for the rafters.
-
It'll be all right.
-
It'll be It'll be seven steps to your
-
best blessed life. Come on, somebody.
-
I don't know.
-
But, what I'm going to tell you is
-
if we really want to walk in victory
-
and we really want to see revival in
-
this house, and I feel like we do.
-
Anybody want to see revival? Come on,
-
I'll ask you one more time. Yeah, I I
-
want to see revival. Like so much so
-
that we don't have room enough to put
-
people in this room. Can I get a
-
witness? I I want it so much so that you
-
are bringing your friends that are sick
-
with cancer, that they're stage four,
-
and they have no hope, and they come
-
here, and they go back to their doctor,
-
and they say, "Where is the cancer at?"
-
Let me tell you, "I went to Liberty
-
Culture, and there's a revival of
-
healing has taken place IN THAT ROOM."
-
WE'VE ALREADY SEEN HIM DO IT TOO MANY
-
TIMES. AIN'T THAT RIGHT, SISTER SHEILA?
-
IF HE DID IT BEFORE, HE WILL do it
-
again.
-
But, the truth is in our western
-
mindset, we see this and we say, "God,
-
why so destructive?
-
Why is it so destructive?
-
If the terms are surrender
-
and I've got TO GIVE IT ALL TO THE Lord
-
and I've got to trust him with the
-
outcome even though I don't see it
-
happening.
-
God, what where are we at? What is going
-
on? What is happening? Can I tell you,
-
it looks destructive, but I'm going to
-
tell you, surrender isn't destructive,
-
it's transformation.
-
It's not destruction, it's
-
transformation in your life, and it's
-
transformation in
-
my life.
-
>> [snorts]
-
>> Cuz that means the dominant force that
-
used to be the flesh, guess what? When I
-
destroy that flesh and tear it down
-
in the next season, the spirit is being
-
fed, and I'm walking in power, and I'm
-
walking in victory, and I walk in
-
authority, and people will say, "Wait a
-
second, last season you looked like you
-
was about to throw in the towel, but
-
this season you're leading people to
-
Christ. This season you're leading the
-
charge. This season you're stepping up."
-
Can I tell you what DOES THAT MEAN? I
-
DESTROYED THE FLESH, AND I RAISED UP THE
-
SPIRIT, AND I'VE BEEN TRANSFORMED
-
because of the goodness of God.
-
I'm transformed by the renewing of my
-
mind
-
that I may prove [music] what is
-
acceptable, perfect
-
will
-
of God
-
for my life.
-
And today I want to tell you
-
the fact is the Lord has brought us to
-
this point on purpose today
-
to crucify the flesh, to say no to the
-
enemy, to surrender.
-
Watch this.
-
is not an option in the kingdom of God.
-
Surrender is a must in the kingdom of
-
God. We cannot be halfway in and halfway
-
out. We must be all in, surrendering our
-
body, our soul, our spirit, our
-
marriage, our children, our finances,
-
our health, our career, our business,
-
our friendships. You can fill in the
-
blank. Whatever area of your life, if
-
you need to surrender to the Lord today,
-
today is the day to surrender to the
-
Lord.
-
And we must be willing to give up
-
everything to take up our cross
-
and to be his disciples.
-
Let me tell you, what are the terms?
-
What what are the terms this morning?
-
The terms are
-
full surrender.
-
The terms are surrender.
-
And so the question is, again does
-
anybody want to see revival in these
-
[music] last days?
-
Come on.
-
Does anybody want to see revival at
-
Liberty Culture Church? Come on. If you
-
do, I dare you to jump to your feet and
-
give God the most radical praise of the
-
day and say, "Lord, I want TO SEE
-
FULL-ON REVIVAL every time we come
-
together."
-
Revival in the sanctuary,
-
revival in every home that hosts a
-
Liberty Group in this next season,
-
revival in Families Count tonight. Come
-
on. I'm believing we're going to see it.
-
Revival in the follow-up class in
-
Families Count. All these beautiful
-
parents are coming back. It's going to
-
be incredible.
-
We're going to see God do incredible
-
things. Revival in kids church.
-
Right behind us, Liberty Culture kids.
-
Revival in Liberty Culture youth.
-
Revival
-
in our salt.
-
Come on.
-
Revival in every area. Revival in our
-
media ministry.
-
Revival
-
in every part of Revival is already
-
breaking out through the worship
-
ministry, but Lord, fan the flames in
-
Jesus name. It's already happening.
-
So, the question of do we want revival?
-
Oh, I I do.
-
What does revival look like? It looks
-
like families restored,
-
lives transformed, and generations
-
launched into their purpose.
-
That's what [music] revival looks like.
-
And so, the Lord has brought
-
Liberty Culture
-
to the, if you will, the table today.
-
We're at the closing table, if you will.
-
And we're sitting here today,
-
and the Lord is on one side, and we are
-
on this side.
-
And the question remains for each one of
-
us in this house.
-
Do we want revival? And the answer is
-
yes.
-
But, let me say this, individually,
-
am I willing to pay the price for the
-
revival that is coming?
-
And that's a question that you have to
-
answer for you and your home.
-
Are you willing to pay the price for the
-
revival that's coming? Not just any
-
revival, the revival that's about to hit
-
this house.
-
I'm not preaching for any other church,
-
I'm preaching for this house today.
-
Because what I believe is I still feel
-
like the answer is yes.
-
But, then let's talk corporately.
-
Are we, as Liberty Culture Church,
-
willing to pay the price [music] for the
-
revival that is coming?
-
And so, the word from the Lord [music]
-
to Liberty Culture today, and I I to
-
read it cuz it's the word the Lord
-
landed me. Is do you want revival?
-
Are we willing to sell all that we have?
-
Are we willing
-
to give to the poor in spirit?
-
And the poor
-
in flesh.
-
Are we willing to leave our comfort
-
zone?
-
Are we willing to leave our comfort and
-
follow the Lord with everything we have?
-
Because I'll be honest, we're about to
-
step into some waters in this house that
-
we have yet to tread.
-
And all I need to know, is there a
-
church in this house that says I'm
-
ready?
-
>> [snorts]
-
>> Come on. I'm ready for what God has.
-
And what he desires to do in me.
-
And what he desires to do
-
in our lives. So here's here's the
-
question.
-
The contract has been drafted this
-
morning.
-
Both parties are at the table.
-
And the only thing left for us to do
-
is sign away.
-
And say, "Lord, I surrender everything."
-
Because I want what you have.
-
Whenever I
-
if I can scroll through an iPhone as
-
fast as I can and never read one of
-
those and click accept the terms and
-
conditions,
-
certainly this morning if all you ask me
-
to do is surrender all,
-
I can say yes to that.
-
So if you're in this house and you say
-
yes, then I want you to raise those
-
hands to heaven and just thank God for
-
the moment of yes. Oh God, I thank you
-
for yes because Lord, on the other side
-
of my yes, I believe revival is going to
-
come. Lives are going to be transformed.
-
Families going to be restored. God, I
-
believe generations are about to be
-
launched in their God-given purpose in
-
this house by your power and your grace
-
and your mercy.
-
So Lord, we say yes.
-
>> [music]
-
>> We say yes to you, your will, your way.
-
Yes to your truth, yes to your purpose,
-
yes to every part that you have for us
-
in this house, God. We hold no reserves
-
in this moment, but we say yes to you.
-
>> Listen, thanks for joining us for the
-
message today, and I believe the power
-
of the Holy Spirit begin a
-
transformational work in you through the
-
word of God, and we want to help you
-
walk that process out. We believe in the
-
power of the local church, discipleship,
-
walking together in our journey with
-
Christ. So, we invite you to come,
-
connect to this beautiful family of God
-
