You Better Take It

[SPEAKER_01]: Ephesians chapter 6, we're going to read verses 11 through 17 again, 11 through 17.

[SPEAKER_01]: It says this, it says, put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the devil, for our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist,

[SPEAKER_01]: In the evil day having prepared everything to take your stand, everybody say stand.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so stand there for, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, and your feet sandled with readiness for the gospel of peace.

[SPEAKER_01]: In every situation take the shield of faith, and with that you will be able to extinguish all of the flaming arrows of the evil one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're taking notes this morning, the title of today's message is, you better take it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, turn to someone and tell them you better take it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, look at someone

[SPEAKER_01]: Father, we thank you, Lord, for your word this morning.

[SPEAKER_01]: We thank you, Father, for the revelation of your word and teaching us something new and fresh today, God.

[SPEAKER_01]: We wanna hear from you, God.

[SPEAKER_01]: We wanna receive from you, Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we thank you for it in Jesus name.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody said, amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, this jacket's coming off.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, of course, if you know me, you know me.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Are y'all hot yet?

[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when we got in here this morning, I will say, you know, it was about as cold in here as it was outside.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought, oh, and I forgot to change our schedule over and the system thing to bring down the heat.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or to excuse me, to raise up the heat, if you will.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I was like, man, we're going to, we're going to all be just ice cubes in here today.

[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody always complains about the cold, but then how cold it is in here, but then you get out there and it's cold

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, thank you to my head.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that ain't going to happen today.

[SPEAKER_01]: But anyways, it's all good.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm just changing this now because I was told that the kiddos are all hot and sweaty in there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we don't want all the parents to leave here with kids that are drenched.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you have kids like mine, my son specifically, any bit of activity.

[SPEAKER_01]: or anything, I mean he's dripping, he's dripping, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: So, all right, so I got that fixed so we're good.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Paul says in verse 13, he says, this is why you must take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to resist in the evil day.

[SPEAKER_01]: And remember that word, evil, be on the screen,

[SPEAKER_01]: is the Greek word peneros, which means labor, pain, sorrow, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: So he says that you may be able to resist in the evil day, in the days that are laboring, the days that are painful, the days that are sorrowful, okay?

[SPEAKER_01]: What Paul is saying is obviously that, you know, that there are going to be some days where, you know, it's a little bit chaotic or confusing or difficult.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be some hard days, and we know there's going to be great days, Victoria's days, days of breakthrough, but there's going to be some days that you just kind of feel like man, it's a laboring day, it's a painful day, it's a sorrowful day, it says that you may be able to resist in these kind of days, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you remember, I've taught you this and been mentioning it every single week, is that the armor of God was given for two reasons, according to Ephesians chapter 6 verse 13, to resist number one, and to stand number two.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so that word resist there is that word antihistomy, right, which means to withstand, if you put it on the screen there for us, to withstand, to set against, to withstand, to set against, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's a withstand against it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then he says, not only will you be able to resist, but that you may be able to stand.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that word stand there, the next one is histomy.

[SPEAKER_01]: We take off that first part of the words, which it's got histomy, which means to cause to stand, to set in place, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: So,

[SPEAKER_01]: The answer hits to me right is just the with standing to put that block up against right whatever is coming your way and the stand is just standing firm standing firm to cause you to stand so resist says the attack is coming but but I'm not going to let it affect me and then stand says I'm fixed I'm set in place and I will not be moved amen

[SPEAKER_01]: And so we've learned about the belt of truth, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: We learned first and foremost that there's a reason why all of these things are listed in the order that they're listed in.

[SPEAKER_01]: You would think that they would start at the top, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And go down, maybe start with the helmet.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not, there's a really specific reason why all of these things are listed the way they are.

[SPEAKER_01]: The belt of truth comes first because, remember, before you have anything else in your life, you gotta make sure you have some truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it was the belt, the belt, on the Roman soldier, that held all of the other pieces of armor together.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was the centralized piece that the breastplate connected to, that the armor that went down the legs and covered the feet, it connected to the belt.

[SPEAKER_01]: So everything, the belt held the sword up, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: The belt was a centralized piece, so the truth of God's word, the truth of who he made you to be, the truth of who he is, is the most important thing in your life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have some truth, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about the breastplate of righteousness, understanding that you have been made righteous in Christ Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: That righteousness is a part of who God is, but he has made you righteous.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: And righteousness covers you like a breastplate because righteousness covers the most important part of your body, which is your heart.

[SPEAKER_01]: The righteousness of God covers and protects your heart from going in a direction that it shouldn't go in.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's the righteousness of God that will constantly remind you who you are in Christ Jesus, amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then we talked about the shoes of peace, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And it says, the Bible says, having the readiness, right, for the gospel of peace.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so we understood that when it says that we are sand old, right, with the gospel of peace, for readiness, what that means is that we come up under it, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: So we stand upon, we come up under peace, and we can walk in and live in perfect divine peace with God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then last week we talked about the shield of faith, the shield of faith.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we talked about the importance of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And understanding that the shield is a large, we, I gave you the definition, but it's like a large stone, a large rock that covers from head to toe.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I showed you a picture of that shield and what that would look like for the Roman soldier that it wasn't a small little, you know, Captain America side shield.

[SPEAKER_01]: Although that would be cool, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Those shields were for hand-to-hand combat for training purposes.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was the shield, though, the large shield that covered them literally from the ground all the way up to their head that they can stand behind.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it says so that you can extinguish all of the flaming arrows of the evil one.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you have that large of a shield, ain't nothing gonna hit you, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And it says, take up the shield of faith.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen, so we talked about the shield.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so this week, we're going to address the helmet of salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: The helmet of salvation, amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so the word helmet in the Greek, this is the long word, all right.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're a scholar in here, and you think that you got the perfect way of saying it, then I'll hear from you afterwards, but I'm on a butcher at probably, I'm just gonna give it to you as I think I hear it to be said, is Paracapholaya, okay?

[SPEAKER_01]: That's how I would say it, Paracapholaya, which means around the head, around the head.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the helmet of salvation, the helmet in and of itself

[SPEAKER_01]: but it was something that covered the full head.

[SPEAKER_01]: It fully engulfed the entire head, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Which is, what's just cool, you probably seen, and I would show some pictures but I don't have it, but you probably see maybe some older Roman soldier type helmets back in the day where it's fully over the head, little slits for the eyes maybe.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember those things and they have that, the kind of like the horse hair, the fur,

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the red, you know, that come out of it, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Those things symbolize a lot of different things, but it was a helmet that fully enclosed in the entire head.

[SPEAKER_01]: And listen, the helmet of the salvation that protects you, protects your whole head, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And it teaches us, this word right here, shows us and demonstrates the fact that the helmet of salvation, it guards not just our mind, but it guards all the portals of our mind.

[SPEAKER_01]: What we hear, what we see, what we speak, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Your mind is protected, your eyes are protected, your ears are protected, your mouth is protected.

[SPEAKER_01]: So without this piece of equipment, spiritually speaking, your mind and all the portals of your mind are really susceptible and they're open for attack.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anything can happen at any given moment, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: As so many times when the attack is coming, we'll see something in all of a sudden, it will take us down.

[SPEAKER_01]: It will begin to mess with us.

[SPEAKER_01]: It will begin to bother us.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the helmet of salvation reminds us of our salvation and Christ Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: And even though we see something, we're not moved by what we see.

[SPEAKER_01]: even though we hear something, we're not moved by what we hear.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because we have full protection, we have the helmet of salvation fully encamped around our heads, around our minds.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so listen to me for a moment, church.

[SPEAKER_01]: To many believers, go into the battlefield without first grabbing the helmet of salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: We go into the battlefield of life, we go into situations, and we forget to take up the helmet of salvation and all of a sudden, we see something, we hear something, we say something, and it gets us into a position that we would otherwise not want to be in.

[SPEAKER_01]: We can find ourselves in a very difficult situation or the difficult situation that we're in right now can magnify all the more because we haven't taken up

[SPEAKER_01]: And without the people of God really understanding their salvation, it doesn't matter listen how many gifts you have, how many abilities you have, the devil can and he has deceived many people into confusion and deception because they don't know the truth of their salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: says take up the helmet of salvation so that you can know the truth of your salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if you haven't discovered it yet, really your mind is the starting point for the enemy's attack.

[SPEAKER_01]: He'll get you here first before any other way.

[SPEAKER_01]: because if he can get you all caught up and all messed up and twisted up and you're thinking all messed up up here, that's the perfect start for the enemy to begin to have just an absolute joy ride with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it all starts right here.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it all take, it's just really, when it comes down to it, it's about understanding that my salvation protects me from being deceived and confused.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you're saved and you know who you are in Christ Jesus, who He's made you to be and you're walking out your salvation, you will not allow the deception and the confusion and the enemy to make its way into your mind.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because your mind is covered.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to read Philippians chapter one, verse six.

[SPEAKER_01]: It says this, Philippians chapter one, verse six.

[SPEAKER_01]: It says, I'm sure of this, that He who started a good work in you,

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll carry it on to what?

[SPEAKER_01]: Completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this is all about your salvation right here.

[SPEAKER_01]: He who started a good work, what is the good work?

[SPEAKER_01]: Your salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: He who started a good work and he will carry it until completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your salvation, let me tell you, is a completed work.

[SPEAKER_01]: And God is constantly helping you to walk out your salvation, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Some days, you might not feel so saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some days, you feel really saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a daily walking out your salvation until what the Bible says completion.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Glory to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: So there are three important things that you got to understand when it comes to this scripture that Paul is teaching us when it comes to salvation and the first one is this number one you have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, you should have shouted really loud right there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, somebody.

[SPEAKER_01]: That you accepted Jesus into your life and you are saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: You are saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: You are redeemed from the curse.

[SPEAKER_01]: Glory to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: So somebody shout, I have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anytime you talk about your salvation, should get you excited.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it should make you reflect and remember what God saved you from.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, you think about the mess and the turmoil and the stresses and the pressure and all the kind of stuff and the junk that you were in before Jesus came into your life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on now.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, imagine still being in that place.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thank God.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're not.

[SPEAKER_01]: But thank God that we are saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: We are saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse 3 through 5, it says, as Ephesians chapter 2, verses 3 through 5, it says, we too all previously lived among them and are fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we were by nature children under wrath, as the others were also.

[SPEAKER_01]: But God, everybody say, but God.

[SPEAKER_01]: But God who is rich in mercy because of his great love that he had for us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh praise God for his love.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: He made us alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: Woo!

[SPEAKER_01]: He made us alive with the Messiah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even though we were dead in trespasses, you are saved by grace.

[SPEAKER_01]: Man, we once carried all that out, lived according to our flesh.

[SPEAKER_01]: We were under wrath, come on now, but his mercy found us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah, his love found us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah, and we have been made alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: And today, we get to say, we are saved by the grace of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah, Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Notice how Ephesians chapter two is all past tense.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, it's already a done deal.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's not saying these are the things that are going to happen.

[SPEAKER_01]: These are the things that are coming that you got to look forward to, or that you got to hope for.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, these things are done.

[SPEAKER_01]: These are set in stone, amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: And aren't you grateful today that every Christian has a past, but every sinner has a future?

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah!

[SPEAKER_01]: You had a past, but guess what?

[SPEAKER_01]: You got a future, because you have been made alive in Christ Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah!

[SPEAKER_01]: Because when you come to Jesus, He doesn't go looking into your past and judging you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Thank God, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: He don't care about any of that stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: He looks past it, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And all he says is that, if you just confess and you believe, in me and turn from your sin, you shall be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't say, let's go back and revisit and restart all of the mistakes of your past.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go back and see if there's anything that we can change up.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, let's circle back around to all of these things.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, that is not who God is.

[SPEAKER_01]: He is too full of love and grace and mercy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And He says, I know that who you were.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's all the stuff you did.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's your past, but I don't care about all of that.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's under the blood now.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we are moving forward, hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you get to walk out your salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Praise God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Praise God.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he washes you.

[SPEAKER_01]: He cleanses you, and he makes you wider than snow.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: He makes you wider than snow.

[SPEAKER_01]: And how many of you are thankful that your past as ugly or messed up or crazy that it was cannot be found any longer?

[SPEAKER_01]: That the old Jew is behind you, the old Jew has been buried hallelujah, hallelujah, and we get to look forward with great expectation for what God has in our lives right now and what he has coming up in the very near future, hallelujah, hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And let me just remind you this morning that your past is under the blood.

[SPEAKER_01]: Quit bringing up your past.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your past is under the blood.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have been saved, redeem, set free.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have been restored, hallelujah, and you are not who you used to be.

[SPEAKER_01]: Glory to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Glory to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Glory to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the first part, the you have been saved is what we would call justification.

[SPEAKER_01]: but the work of the innocent blood shed of Jesus is greater than the sin that you did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Justification says, yeah, you did it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the blood shed, the innocent shed, a blood of the innocent lamb of God covers that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's greater than the things that you did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so hear me this morning church, when something comes into your mind, reminding you of something that's already under the blood, let me tell you, that's not God, it's the enemy.

[SPEAKER_01]: God doesn't bring those things back up and resurface those things so that you can live those things out again and be reminded of the hurt and be reminded of the pain and all that kind of stuff, that's the devil, a straight up the devil.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the enemy's only hope is to destroy you and to remind you of who you used to be, and to remind you of the sin that you used to commit, and try to shame you into a place of hopelessness.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: But Paul says, what is under the blood cannot be used against you because the blood of Jesus has already justified you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on.

[SPEAKER_01]: You ought to shout right there once again.

[SPEAKER_01]: that you have been justified, pray he's God, hallelujah, so number one, you have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: But number two, follow with me, you are being saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have, you have been saved, but you are also being saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to read first Corinthians chapter one, verse 18, first Corinthians chapter one, verse 18.

[SPEAKER_01]: Since the for the message of the cross, so the gospel, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: It's foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is God's power to us, who are being saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: The gospel is power to us, those of us who are being saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have been saved, but you are being saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is a daily salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: So now I am saved, or I am being saved, what that is, is sanctification.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have been saved is justification.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am being saved is what we call sanctification.

[SPEAKER_01]: And sanctified, all sanctified means is set apart from and set apart to.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have been sanctified, you have walked this process, you're walking this process out of sanctification.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, you are being set apart from, and you're also being set apart, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: The question is, in my walking out of my salvation, in my being saved, what am I being set apart from?

[SPEAKER_01]: You're being set apart from anything that's not Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's certification.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're being sanctified,

[SPEAKER_01]: by being set apart from anything that's not of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: But guess what?

[SPEAKER_01]: The other part of sanctification also means that you're being set apart too.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're being set apart from anything that's not God, you're being set apart apart too, everything that is God.

[SPEAKER_01]: All of who he is.

[SPEAKER_01]: Every bit of God, every bit of Jesus, every bit of the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you are being saved, sanctification.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, this kind of teaching and preaching is what we would call old school these days.

[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody wants to hear about sanctification anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody wants to hear about that kind of stuff, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: One saved always saved, you know, a type thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, this kind of stuff is this kind of message on sanctification is maybe what your grandparents or your great grandparents would preach.

[SPEAKER_01]: They'd preach sanctification.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you really don't hear sanctification taught anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's simply because people want their ears tickled

[SPEAKER_01]: of different things that they'd rather come into a church service and hear how to find their perfect spouse, rather than how do I get my life right with Jesus?

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's one example amongst many, and we have neglected and we have forsaken sanctification.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if past tense salvation is being justified,

[SPEAKER_01]: Then presently in me, what is happening?

[SPEAKER_01]: It's called sanctification.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, past tense, I've been justified.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what is happening in me on a daily basis as I'm walking out my salvation is now sanctification?

[SPEAKER_01]: And you need to know that you are already saved, and there is no such thing as getting more saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're not, you're not, Eric is not more saved than Melissa.

[SPEAKER_01]: Melissa is not more saved than Donna, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: There's no such thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we look at people all the time and we're thinking, Oh man, they're just spiritual.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're just this.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're just that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we can buy into this whole life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they're more saved than I am.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let me tell you something, there's no such thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is, no, there is not tears of salvation, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, we just, I think it was last week, we became like the top tier at, you know, Chick-fil-A, you know, in the Chick-fil-A app, you know, because you spend so much and you use all these points and you go from all these different tears, you know, these different statuses, you know, as a Chick-fil-A, you know, customer or whatever.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we got to the top tier, like congratulations.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got this email.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have made it, you know, to the pinnacle of Chick-fil-a-ers, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought to myself, wow, you know how crazy like me.

[SPEAKER_01]: We spend too much money at Chick-fil-a.

[SPEAKER_01]: But so many times that's how we kind of treat this whole salvation thing and this whole stuff, you know, in churches, yeah, you've got, you know, the people that are up there, you know, you got the people that are on the stage and then you got everybody else and, you know, maybe if you're on the stage and maybe you're at this level, and everybody is kind of right here and they're trying to get there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, now, because I'm walking out the sanctification process

[SPEAKER_01]: daily I am being saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So listen to me clearly, sanctification cannot be understood as simply denying the flesh and sin.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's how it's been taught.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is that if you're going to be sanctified, if you're going to be a sanctified believer, you need to constantly deny the flesh and sin.

[SPEAKER_01]: which that's, we need to, don't get me wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: There needs to be a constant denying of the flesh, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: A constant turning away from sin, not letting sin so easily and snare us, okay, as the word says.

[SPEAKER_01]: But sanctification is not just denying the flesh and sin sanctification is being set apart from sin while still being set apart to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you only focus on turning and running away from sin, you'll forget to turn and run to the lover of your soul.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what people get tripped up in.

[SPEAKER_01]: They try to do whatever they can to run away from sin that they're running so far away from sin that they're not running to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: And sanctification is I'm running from sin, but at the same time that I'm running from it, I'm running into the arms of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am getting closer to him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Daily, every single day, I am falling more and more and more in love with the creator of the universe, the one who breathed life into my mother's womb, I am falling more and love with him as I'm steering away, further and further from sin, from temptation, from the evil things of this world, from wickedness, the further that I step away from all of that stuff, the closer I get to Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Man, in that wonderful, in that so amazing that God didn't say, okay, in order to have a relationship with me, you got to completely cut off everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you just got a, I mean, no, he says you're working it out.

[SPEAKER_01]: He says I get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory God, they're going to be times when you're tempted.

[SPEAKER_01]: Heck, Jesus was tempted.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be times when you are tempted.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be times when the enemy is knocking at your door.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be times when you're in situations that maybe you didn't mean to put yourself in, but you're all of a sudden in the midst of one.

[SPEAKER_01]: He says, that's not what this is all about.

[SPEAKER_01]: He just says, this is simply put.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're being sanctified.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're setting yourself apart from all of that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And as you're doing that, you're getting set up closer and closer and closer to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Woo, Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, I'm so grateful for the Jesus that we have.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so listen, in order to break the power of sin in your life,

[SPEAKER_01]: It requires a closeness and a nearness to the Father.

[SPEAKER_01]: It requires a falling in love, deeper and deeper with Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not falling more in love with Him, if you're not getting closer to Him, then you've got the thing twisted.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna be getting close to something else then.

[SPEAKER_01]: In more than likely, it's gonna be your flesh and it's gonna be wickedness.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, that's why we got a daily, we got a daily say, Jesus, I just wanna get closer to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just wanna be nearer to you, every day, I just wanna come get nearer and nearer to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wanna fall more in love with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wanna be just radically engulfed in your love and be so deeply in love with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: More in love with you than I am with my spouse or my best friend or my kids or whatever it may be I want to speak so deeply in love with you and as we do that we're being sanctified sanctified Hallelujah So so number one is you have been saved Number two you are being saved

[SPEAKER_01]: And number three, again, follow along with me.

[SPEAKER_01]: You'll understand, you shall be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: You shall be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: You are being saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you shall be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I have been saved as justification.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am being saved is sanctification.

[SPEAKER_01]: And now I shall be saved is glorification.

[SPEAKER_01]: Glorification.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to turn to your neighbor and tell them this.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to say, I'm justified.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sanctified, and I'm glorified.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm justified, I'm sanctified, and I'm glorified.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, let's look at first John chapter three verse two, and I'm about to pound a whole bunch of scripture on this, so just bear with me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Says dear friends, we are God's children now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Woo!

[SPEAKER_01]: If that's all it said, I'm good right there.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're God's children now.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what we will be has not yet been revealed.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so we are God's children.

[SPEAKER_01]: We are saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what we will be has not yet been revealed.

[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: We know that when he appears, we will be like him because we will see him as he is.

[SPEAKER_01]: Man, glory to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: You want to get excited about that this morning.

[SPEAKER_01]: One day, come on, I'm going to say one day.

[SPEAKER_01]: One day, I'm going to see him, and I'm going to be just like him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Woo!

[SPEAKER_01]: I have been saved, I am being saved, and I'm going to be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's look at Romans chapter five, verse nine.

[SPEAKER_01]: Much more than, since we have now been declared righteous by his blood, okay, so we have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: We will be saved through him from wrath.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have been declared righteous by his blood, but we will be saved through him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hebrews chapter 9 verse 28.

Hebrews 9:28

[SPEAKER_01]: So also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin.

[SPEAKER_01]: but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Notice how it doesn't say that when he comes a second time, it's to bring salvation to don't know him.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's to bring salvation for those who are waiting on him.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's you and me, Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So what the writer of Hebrews is saying

[SPEAKER_01]: He was hung up on a cross to pay for our sin.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the second time he comes, oh, come on somebody.

[SPEAKER_01]: The second time he comes, they won't tie him to a whipping post.

[SPEAKER_01]: They won't put a crown of thorns on his head.

[SPEAKER_01]: They won't make him carry a cross upon a hill, come on somebody.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the next time he comes, he's not coming to Bersin because he already bore sin.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I came to tell you this morning that the next time that Jesus comes, he's not coming to pay a sin, pay off a sin, but he'll be rolling up his sleeves to defeat hell in the grave and death once and for all.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, death!

[SPEAKER_01]: Where is your sting?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, grave!

[SPEAKER_01]: Where is your victory?

[SPEAKER_01]: So the next time he comes, he's not coming to be tied to a Roman cross.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the next time he comes, he'll be looking for you and me.

[SPEAKER_01]: The first time they tied him up, the second time he says, that's it, baby.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm coming in and I'm coming to take my family home.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am being saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: I shall be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: I shall be saved from this world.

[SPEAKER_01]: My Jesus, come on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then I accept that in my, my Jesus is coming to take me home.

[SPEAKER_01]: My Jesus is coming to gather me up and to gather all his children up and we're going someplace to spend all eternity with Him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is it just me this morning or is anybody excited that Jesus is coming back for me?

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, is anybody excited this morning that Jesus is coming back for you?

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah, that night, that he's not leaving you here to try to figure it out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, somebody, that he's not leaving you here when all hell breaks loose.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, but he's saying, I'm coming to rest you them and to save them from what's about to hit this earth, but I'm going to save them and I'm going to bring them into eternity with me.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if I was sitting in your seat right now, and I had a crazy white chubby pastor preaching at me the way that he is right now, I would have standin' up to my feet, and I would have stood up real like with full of bullness, and I would have started shouting at the fact that I have been saying, and I'm being saying, and Jesus is coming to take me home, Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah, they're Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know what you came in here this morning feeling like or what you've been going through.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I came in here this morning to tell you to put on your helmets of salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Put on your helmet of salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then it's time as believers, we understand what that's all about.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we know that we're saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're set free, we're delivered.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: little read of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: If I had an organ player, that guy or that girl would just be, all over the place right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus helped me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I feel like I get too excited, but it's okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm okay with that.

[SPEAKER_01]: But we got to put on the helmet of salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let me tell you, you're going to win this fight.

[SPEAKER_01]: God is going to give you the victory, amen?

[SPEAKER_01]: Why?

[SPEAKER_01]: Because I got my helmet on.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to win this fight.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to have victory because I got my helmet on.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got my salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am being saved and I shall be saved, amen?

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if I believe that and if I understand that, Hallelujah ain't nothing going to stop me and ain't nothing going to hold me back.

[SPEAKER_01]: Glory to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can I give you one more scripture?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even if you said no, I'm still going to do it anyways.

[SPEAKER_01]: First, that's theologians chapter five.

[SPEAKER_01]: First, say, I'm giving you a lot of scripture today.

[SPEAKER_01]: You better leave here full of the word.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't ever say that you came and I didn't learn anything today.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard people say that before.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get anything out of that today.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oops.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lord Jesus, okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: First, that's theologians chapter five or say.

[SPEAKER_01]: But since we belong to the day,

[SPEAKER_01]: to the day of salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what that means.

[SPEAKER_01]: We must be serious and put the armor of faith and love on our chest.

[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the only other place in all of scripture that the Helma is mentioned.

[SPEAKER_01]: And put on a helmet of the hope of salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Since we belong to the day, the day that we will be saved, where Jesus has come and to take us home, since we belong to that day, we gotta be serious.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we gotta put on the helmet of the hope of our salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: The word hope there in the Greek is the word Elpus, which means this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Watch this, this powerful right here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Favorable and confident expectation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Woo!

[SPEAKER_01]: Favorable and confident expectation.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's go back and look at that scripture again.

[SPEAKER_01]: says, but since we belong to the day, we must be serious and put the armor and faith in love on our chest and put on a helmet of the favorable and confident expectation of our salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Woo!

[SPEAKER_01]: Now right there, again, I just get excited because there is a favorable and confident outcome of my salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: That this hope that we're talking about, this hope of salvation, what this means here is not wishful thinking kind of hope.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a favorable, confident, expectation of salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we put on the helmet the understanding that we have a favorable and confident expectation of our salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah, come on.

[SPEAKER_01]: because it's a helmet of hope.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus is the hope of the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: We know that he is the hope of the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: And hear me, you and I are going to win.

[SPEAKER_01]: You and I are going to win.
