Raise the Roof

[SPEAKER_01]: So second Samuel chapter six, we got into this last week and I'm gonna read it again because I told you we're probably not jumping out of there for a while because I felt like there's just so much in here.

[SPEAKER_01]: But second Samuel chapter six, I'm gonna scale it down a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: We read a lot more last week.

[SPEAKER_01]: I brought it down just a little bit for today, but we're gonna reverse this three through 11.

[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be on the screen if you wanna follow that way.

[SPEAKER_01]: Second Samuel chapter six versus three through 11 and and Robert sent me a funny like video this week on on on Instagram And it was a public Or a it was a political figure that I won't mention

[SPEAKER_01]: his name, but he was having a hard time saying people's names.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, this is, Robert said, this is you on Sunday's bro.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I was thinking about, I'm like, yeah, last Sunday.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you notice, I skipped the first couple of verses that I read last week, because some of these names that are in the Bible are terrible.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, how do you even say them?

[SPEAKER_01]: And no matter how good you try, you're going to get it wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like, you know what, I'm just, whatever, Robert was making fun of me, I'm like,

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just not going to include some of those crazy names, but there will be a few that we're going to read.

[SPEAKER_01]: So second Samuel chapter 6, starting in verse 3, we read down through verse 11, and it says they set the arc of God on a new cart and transported it from a minute-dab's house, which was on the hill.

[SPEAKER_01]: Usah and Ohio sons of a minute-dab were guiding the cart and brought it with the arc of God from a minute-dab's house on the hill.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ohio walked in front of the ark, David in the whole house of Israel were celebrating before the Lord with all kinds of fur-wit instruments, layers, hearts, tambourine, systems, and symbols.

[SPEAKER_01]: When they came to Nacan's Threshing floor, it was a reached out to the ark of God and took a hold of it because the oxen had stumbled.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then the Lord's anger burned against Usah and God struck him dead on the spot for his ear reverence.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he died there next to the ark of God, verse 8, David was angry because of the Lord's outburst against Usah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he named that place and outburst against Usah as it is today.

[SPEAKER_01]: David feared the Lord that day and said, how can the ark of the Lord ever come to me?

[SPEAKER_01]: So he was not willing to move the arc of the Lord to the city of David instead.

[SPEAKER_01]: He took it to the house of Obenedum, the Guitite.

[SPEAKER_01]: The arc of the Lord remained in his house for three months, and the Lord blessed Obenedum and his whole household.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're taking notes this morning, kind of a funny title of today's message, but you'll understand why later.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the title of today's message is, raise the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, raise the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, somebody say, raise the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, don't sing us song now, but just say, raise the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Father, we thank you, Lord, for your Word today, God.

[SPEAKER_01]: We thank you, Lord, for continuing God to inspire us through your Word and bringing forth the revelation and the wisdom and the knowledge that we need in our lives right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lord, I thank you, Father, God, for continuing to teach us, God, continue to mark us by the power of your Word.

[SPEAKER_01]: We thank you for the transformative power that is contained within your Word.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we thank you that, God, that through your work, that we receive today, Father God, the Word that we would be forever changed, that it would challenge us in a good way.

[SPEAKER_01]: and Lord, it would set us free, God, it would help us in every way that you have set forth for it to help us today.

[SPEAKER_01]: We thank you for it in Jesus' name.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody said, amen, amen, amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so I shared with you last week, I'm gonna just kind of go through this really briefly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Especially if you may have missed last week's message is kind of the first message of this series, kind of laying a foundation for it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let me just kind of recap us real quick.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I taught you three truths if you remember about God's glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: Number one is that God's glory doesn't need our help.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: God's glory doesn't need our help.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember in 2 Samuel 6, it was a put his hand on the art to prevent it from falling.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the Bible says that God struck him dead right there on the spot because of why his ear reverence.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, Usad died literally trying to hold up what God was trying to kill.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was trying to eliminate the process that which they had established at that time.

[SPEAKER_01]: And He was trying to destroy that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, it's like a symbolic thing that when Usad reached out his hand to try to stop it from falling, which we could all argue to say that he had every right to do so.

[SPEAKER_01]: that he was trying to maybe be helpful for sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: But in his attempt to be helpful, the Bible says that he was actually irreverent.

[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't mindful of what God was trying to accomplish in that moment, God struck him dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, the arc's cart was a method that God was trying to get rid of.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe that,

[SPEAKER_01]: really God wanted the ark to fall to show Israel how poor they were at carrying his glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so this morning church there's a lot of people in the kingdom that are trying to prop up men.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're trying to pop up, you know, prop up figures and methods within a church and ideologies and things that are really not of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: especially when it comes to the glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: Number two, the second thing that I taught you is that God's glory brings the blessing.

[SPEAKER_01]: After David figures out that the ark that's been sitting in Obededam's house has literally caused Obededam's entire household to be blessed, David realizes, okay, I think it's time for me to go pick up the ark and take it back to where it belongs.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so the Bible says that the Lord blessed Obededam and his entire household,

[SPEAKER_01]: Why was Obeditum, why was his whole entire household blessed well because of the presence of God?

[SPEAKER_01]: Because of the glory of God, that literally rested in his home.

[SPEAKER_01]: With nobody else, when all the 30,000 men were arguing against David and David was arguing with them, or what are we going to do with the ark?

[SPEAKER_01]: Where are we going to put it?

[SPEAKER_01]: There was a good-tight man that said, I will take the ark, put it in my house.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, if nobody else wants God's glory,

[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't even in the right lineage to even receive the glory of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't even have made sense in that time.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was a good type.

[SPEAKER_01]: But yet, the good type rose to the occasion and said, if nobody wants the presence of God, give me all of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take the presence of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it was in his obedience and in his willingness to house the glory of God that the Bible then says that the blessing literally was released upon his household.

[SPEAKER_01]: I told you something crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, it's believed that Obed-Edom's wife and his daughters all bore two children each for those three months.

[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you've ever been pregnant, you know it takes nine months, three months, three months, two babies, doesn't add up.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when it comes to God's glory, yes, it does.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because when God starts blessing, come on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you can't even fathom it, what he is doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because he's working behind the scenes and he's doing crazy things on your behalf.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so he began to literally bless Obededam's house in more ways than one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Literally his household doubled.

[SPEAKER_01]: Think about that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like we talk about the God of multiplication.

[SPEAKER_01]: We talk about the God who does exceedingly abundantly, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And God literally doubled the amount of blessings that Obedeedham had in his household in those three months.

[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I say, God,

[SPEAKER_01]: If your presence can't be accepted anywhere else, if your glory is not welcomed anywhere else, I will take it in my home.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will take it in this church.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, somebody.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, number two is that God's glory brings the blessing.

[SPEAKER_01]: And number three, that I taught you was this, that God's glory shakes things up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Second Samuel chapter 6 verse 14, you remember this, and says that David was dancing with all his might before the Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: He began to praise God, and he began to dance before the Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because he knew what was about to happen when he got that arc back to the city.

[SPEAKER_01]: He knew that some stuff was about to happen, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: There were some things that were going to be shaken and it was going to be a little crazy, a little more so on the negative side of things, but he also was well aware of when I bring God's glory back, come on, things are going to be shaken in a good way.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so he was dancing, he was rejoicing, and if you remember, Saul's daughter looked down from the window, the Bible says, and she would despise him in his heart because he was dancing, bringing back the arc.

[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, she was judging him.

[SPEAKER_01]: She was judging him for his worship.

[SPEAKER_01]: She was judging him for his worship, and she didn't even understand why he was worshiping the way he was, but yet she looked at him with the spiteful eyes and said, he has no right to be dancing like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then God's glory shows up.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then she's like, why did I think that way?

[SPEAKER_01]: Why did I act that way?

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because in a moment I'm sure she realized if I want God's glory, man, I would be dancing like that too.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Lord had to get a hold of her.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so David knew that the presence of God was literally about to shake things up.

[SPEAKER_01]: So today I want to pick up where we left off last week.

[SPEAKER_01]: Last week we concluded by reading towards the end of my message.

[SPEAKER_01]: We read Psalms chapter 24.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go back to Psalms chapter 24 today.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to dive into this a little bit deeper, because this is a very popular familiar Psalm.

[SPEAKER_01]: That a lot of people know.

[SPEAKER_01]: And but I believe it's really packed with all kinds of stuff that we can really unfold today when it comes to all of this when it comes to carrying the glory of God and really understanding what all that's about so songs chapter 24 versus three through seven remember I told you last week that it is believed that when David was carrying the arc of the covenant back up to the city of Jerusalem the city of David.

[SPEAKER_01]: that it was then that scholars and theologians believe that he marked Psalm chapter 24.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had to literally ascend a hill to get up to the city.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so you see the first part of the verse that says, who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?

[SPEAKER_01]: Who may stand in his holy place?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm about to bring this glory back into the city.

[SPEAKER_01]: Who may stand in this holy place?

[SPEAKER_01]: The one who has clean hands in a pure heart, who has not set his mind on what is false and who has not sworn deceitfully, he will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek the face of God of Jacob.

[SPEAKER_01]: Salah, lift up your hands.

[SPEAKER_01]: You gates rise up, ancient doors, then the king of glory will come and.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Bible later says, who is this king of glory, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: The one strong and mighty, the Lord mighty and battle.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so it is believed that David, as he was venturing and he was worshiping before the Lord, he was saying these things that we just read in Psalm 24, as he's literally carrying the glory and the presence of God back to Jerusalem.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you're taking notes this morning, there's three things that I want to teach you today.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's three things that the glory does.

[SPEAKER_01]: Three things that the glory does.

[SPEAKER_01]: Number one is this is that the glory and literally changes everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: It changes everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: We see that as soon as the glory entered in, things begin to change.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's the glory of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know that when I walk into Johnny and KK's restaurant

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to give you all plugs all the time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I understand because it's so good.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm addicted, actually.

[SPEAKER_01]: When we walk into the restaurant, I know before I open that door, that worship music is playing in the atmosphere.

[SPEAKER_01]: So when I open that door and I go into the restaurant, it don't matter who's there, who's not there, what kind of people are there, what kind of, you know, whatever, I know that the atmosphere is being set and that there's worship that's playing.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I know that as a result of that, literally being in the presence of God, even in a restaurant, I am fully aware that the glory begins to change things.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's the glory of God that can spark conversations and God can begin to move.

[SPEAKER_01]: So glory of God and people can feel peace.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can feel God's love, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the way things ought to be in every area of our life.

[SPEAKER_01]: But we have got to come to the understanding that the glory of God changes everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: We may not be able to change much, but his glory can.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we can only go so far, but the glory of God can absolutely change anything and everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Bible says that David was wearing a linen ephod, a linen ephod.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, why does the Bible have to tell us that David was dancing?

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember he says he was dancing, carrying the glory of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it says that he was in a linen ephod.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why did the Bible even have to tell us that?

[SPEAKER_01]: Why is that even important?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you why.

[SPEAKER_01]: David was a king.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kings didn't wear ephods.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kings wore robes.

[SPEAKER_01]: David was a king, but yet he wasn't wearing royal attire in that moment.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was wearing an ephod.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why would a king who was supposed to wear a robe put on an ephod?

[SPEAKER_01]: Why did this king take off his robe and begin to dance in an ephod?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you why that is, because this King, King David, he understood that there was a greater king that was coming with him, and that when this greater king showed up as he literally carried the glory and the presence of God into that place, he knew that he didn't, he could not even wear his robe, he said, I'm not worthy of this robe.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm only worried worthy of an e-fod right now because the King that is coming with me is far greater than any other king you have ever known, any other king you have ever experienced, it's a king from the kingdom of heaven.

[SPEAKER_01]: And in David understood, if I'm carrying the very presence of God, the glory of God, I don't need to be in my kingly robe.

[SPEAKER_01]: because this is the king of glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is why the scripture says, this is why it says right there in verse eight, who is the king of glory?

[SPEAKER_01]: The Lord strong in mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lift up your heads, you gates, rise up, ancient doors, then what the king of glory will come in.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not the king that you're looking for, but I'm carrying the glory and let me tell you when the king of glory comes, you will know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even need a robe right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just need a knee-fod.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just need a knee-fod.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not worthy to even wear a robe right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even want to be called a king right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just call me David.

[SPEAKER_01]: Drop the title off my name.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm carrying the glory of God up in this place.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, somebody.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he literally gave God his rightful place.

[SPEAKER_01]: He literally gave God his rightful place of authority, his rightful place of dominion.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe that out of really David's obedience and his willingness to do so, I believe that that's what literally marked the moment where the glory of God could be accepted into the city of David.

[SPEAKER_01]: If he would have marched in, wearing his robe, they would have thought that it was for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And David understood, you got to take your eyes off of me and you got to look at the king.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna remove my kingly attire because I don't want nobody looking at me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just dancing and celebrating and rejoicing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm worshiping right now because I know it's about to happen up in here, but I don't want no eyes on me.

[SPEAKER_01]: What happens when we truly understand that we don't show up to church to look cute?

[SPEAKER_01]: We don't come into a place like this to try to impress everybody, but we show up to worship the king of glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if we have come to worship the king,

[SPEAKER_01]: Then that means we shouldn't care if our makeup gets all smeared and messed up and worship because we're crying and the presence of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, somebody.

[SPEAKER_01]: It no matter if our clothes that we pressed really nice this morning to come to church, if they get all wrinkled because God called us down on our knees or took us on our face and the presence of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: It won't matter if our hair gets a little bit messed up because he told us to jump and to spin and to dance and to shout, come on now, and to praise wildly before him.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can tell you in that moment, David did not care what anybody else thought.

[SPEAKER_01]: He only cared about worshiping the king of glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: And hear me loud and clear, church, I'm really sick and tired of pastors who wait in the green room until it's their turn to preach.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they'll sit in the back with their arms cross waiting until it's their turn to have the microphone in their hand.

[SPEAKER_01]: What kind of example is that?

[SPEAKER_01]: What if David would have fallen behind the line?

[SPEAKER_01]: And he would have just stood there and said, yeah, I'm not the king right now, whatever,

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that the King of Glory would have been as honored and as accepted if David would have had that heart and that posture?

[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely not.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had a lead by example.

[SPEAKER_01]: He said, these priests, they're carrying this sucker in.

[SPEAKER_01]: And while they're carrying it, I'm dancing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm dancing.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is the church that literally has pastors that are praisers, that have leaders who are worshipers, that don't care about their attire, but care about their heart's posture.

[SPEAKER_01]: Before anything like that's where we should be, as a church, whether you're a leader or not is irrelevant,

[SPEAKER_01]: that I'm not here to look good or impress anybody or do anything to try to push myself in any kind of way, but I'm here to worship the king.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if I can first worship the king, I know God will honor that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And God will make God will make the room.

[SPEAKER_01]: God will open the door.

[SPEAKER_01]: God will do stuff in my life.

[SPEAKER_01]: And in the lives of everybody else around me, when I have that right heart and I have that right posture.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is what we've got to have as a church.

[SPEAKER_01]: that we're not trying to perform.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we're not trying to outdo one another.

[SPEAKER_01]: The only thing that the Bible tells us to outdo one another is in love.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll try to, you know, be more spiritual than somebody else.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you know more scriptures, great.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll find a sticker and give it to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you memorize more worship songs, then the person next to you, prays God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, nobody cares, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like the only thing we care about is running after the heart of the Father.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that should be the only thing that you care about is I just want to go into an atmosphere and to a place where I can worship the King of glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: That the King of glory may be insured in because I have come into a right posture within my heart.

[SPEAKER_01]: Where I don't care about myself as a matter of fact, I don't even care about the person next to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what I care about is about going after the heart of the Father, loving him with all my heart, soul-minded strengths, pursuing the heart of Jesus, getting into the rhythm of his heartbeat, worshiping with everything that I have.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if the person next to me joins me in it,

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a benefit, that's what you then you get corporate worship, unity in our worship.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so David understood that it wasn't about him being a king, but it was about the King of Glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: Today we've got to understand it, it's not about a preacher, it's about the King of Glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about a worship leader, it's about the King of Glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: So number one, the glory changes everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: Number two, the glory destroys all restrictions.

[SPEAKER_01]: The glory destroys all restrictions.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think so many times, even unknowingly, we put restrictions on the Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: We put restrictions on his power, on his spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the glory destroys literally all restrictions and all boundaries and all whatever you may try to come up with.

[SPEAKER_01]: The glory of God will destroy it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they're carrying the glory of God and the ark and David is leading them into the city and literally in a spirit of worship.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when the Bible says, lift up your heads, O ye gates that the king of glory may enter in,

[SPEAKER_01]: It's important to understand that cities in those days had massive gates.

[SPEAKER_01]: The only way that you entered in and that you went out is if you actually went through the city gate.

[SPEAKER_01]: Most of the time there were walls surrounding the city.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it looked like.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the only way in and only way out was to go through the city gate.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cities were known by their gates.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were all unique and different.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were different in size.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were different in color, different in all kinds of ways.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it symbolized the city itself.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so the Bible says that David said,

[SPEAKER_01]: Small cities, have gates, big cities, have gates.

[SPEAKER_01]: So when David comes into Jerusalem, he literally tells the gates, lift up your heads.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now when you read that scripture, you can look and you can say, it says that it says, lift up your heads, oh, he gates, often times the way that we have read that is referring to an individual, or on an individual level, lift up your heads.

[SPEAKER_01]: was the scripture is not talking about a human being lifting up their head.

[SPEAKER_01]: At the top of these city gates, the structure that would be at the top of the gate was literally called the head of the gate, the head.

[SPEAKER_01]: So when David approaches the gate, he looks up at the head of the gate and he says, lift up your head.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you gate, that the king of glory may enter in.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, the size of the gate is not big enough for the king of glory that's entering in.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he literally speaks to the gate and he says, lift up your head.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, remove the restrictions.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remove the, remove what has protected you as a city, get rid of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remove the boundaries, remove the, the things that we've tried to rope off and line up and the things that man has tried to create to form some kind of structure, some kind of something he says, no, no, we're destroying all of that today.

[SPEAKER_01]: take the head right off, destroy it, because the King of Glory is coming in.

[SPEAKER_01]: The head at the top of the gate, and then David literally speaks to the gate, he commands it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then he also says this, remember this is what scripture says, it says, open up ancient doors.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he says, lift up your heads, oh, you gates, remove the top, and he says, open up ancient

[SPEAKER_01]: So literally, from the top to the bottom, and from side to side, David is saying, what you have created as a structure is not fitting for this king, eliminate all restrictions that the king of glory may come in.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what you've come up with, even unknowingly in your life, that could literally be a restriction for the king of glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when the king of glory comes in, he don't need the space that you have mocked up for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't need, he doesn't need things to be a certain way, a certain measurement, a certain time, or he had to have a certain feeling.

[SPEAKER_01]: When the king of glory shows up into your home, he says, just open it all up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we don't have time to wait for you to clean your house.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hello, we don't have time for you to do this or that and move this and move that.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, just lift up your heads, open up ancient doors that the King of Glory may come in.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, David was getting closer and he realized that the gate wasn't big enough for the size of the glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he speaks to it, commanding it to open up wider, to open up bigger.

[SPEAKER_01]: If we have restrictions for what the glory of God can do and cannot do in this house, we will find ourselves bound to only going a certain level, a certain distance, a certain height, a certain depth.

[SPEAKER_01]: But this house, we cannot afford to do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: We gotta walk up in this place and say, lift up your heads, oh, he gates open up ancient doors at the King of Glory may come in.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have no restrictions.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have no schedules.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have no time this and time that.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just want to be in the presence of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just want to usher in the glory of God, amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, the God who is coming is bigger than the gate that you have prepared for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: as better just try not to prepare anything at all and just allow the king of glory to come in.

[SPEAKER_01]: When the king comes in, he's not shrinking down to a certain size that you want to give him.

[SPEAKER_01]: When the king comes in, he doesn't fit into your preconceived, planned out spaces.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when the king comes in, you better lift up your head.

[SPEAKER_01]: because this is not a little God who is coming to do little things.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is not a little God that contains a little bit of glory, but this is a big God who wants to do big things, and he is full of glory, hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So literally what David is saying, he's saying, I understand that you have a structure in place and this is the way people in, enter in and people exit out, but I'm telling you that the King of Glory is coming in and you better raise the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: You better raise the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, you try to, you try to cause a ceiling, you try to cap off the things of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: I need that thing to be busted.

[SPEAKER_01]: Any kind of lid that you've tried to put there for the King of Glory, you better remove that thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: You better raise the roof that the King of Glory may come in.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, turn to somebody again, tell him, raise the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: Raise the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now tell him something else, tell him, take off the lid.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's no reason for us to have a lid on the glory of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if he wants to overflow, come on baby, overflow, you know, why would I try to cap off

[SPEAKER_01]: and try to put a restriction on God for what he's trying to do in my life or what he's trying to do in this atmosphere or in people's lives around me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why would we be so okay with doing that?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, when the glory comes in, it destroys all restrictions.

[SPEAKER_01]: And listen church, the King of glory.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you, it doesn't fit into a religious boundary where religious barrier.

[SPEAKER_01]: The King of Glory cannot and should not be isolated into what fits best.

[SPEAKER_01]: For the King of Glory is looking for a people.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's looking for a space.

[SPEAKER_01]: And looking for a church, looking for a home where he has no restrictions, but he has full access and full authority to do whatever it is

[SPEAKER_01]: My initiative for us today, my challenge and our heart cry for us today, is to literally raise the roof, raise the roof of our lives, quit having a ceiling, quit capping things off, quit putting a lid on the glory of God, well, I can take this much, but nothing else.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, give me all of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be like, oh, bad eat them.

[SPEAKER_01]: If all I get is three months with your presence, God?

[SPEAKER_01]: Give it to me, please.

[SPEAKER_01]: With no restrictions, no restrictions.

[SPEAKER_01]: So number two, the glory destroys all restrictions.

[SPEAKER_01]: And number three is this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of talking about what we talked about last week, but the glory will shake you.

[SPEAKER_01]: We learned last week that the glory shakes things.

[SPEAKER_01]: Shakes environments, shakes atmospheres when the glory God shows up,

[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to know that the glory will shake you.

[SPEAKER_01]: It'll shake me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we need the glory to shake us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we need the presence of God to bust into a space and tap on our heart.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say it's time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go back to Matthew chapter 21, verse 10.

Matthew 21:10

[SPEAKER_01]: We started out there and we'll end there today.

[SPEAKER_01]: Matthew chapter 21, verse 10, we read it again and it says, when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was shaken saying, who is this?

Matthew 21:10

[SPEAKER_01]: Who is this?

[SPEAKER_01]: This is so interesting because when Jesus entered into the city, he didn't come with an entourage.

[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't come with a military force surrounding him.

[SPEAKER_01]: or backing him, he didn't have armed guards, he didn't have personal private security standing there watching everybody, make sure nobody touches Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, he didn't have any of that.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Bible says that he simply came riding in on a donkey.

[SPEAKER_01]: The most unroyal animal, it could have been a stallion.

[SPEAKER_01]: He could have been anything else, but he chose, not somebody else.

[SPEAKER_01]: He chose a donkey, a donkey.

[SPEAKER_01]: You want to know why he wrote a donkey, I believe, is because he came not to demonstrate fleshly power, but spiritual power that was established in all humility.

[SPEAKER_01]: He knew that he had the power.

[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't need to come in announcing his power.

[SPEAKER_01]: the power spoke for itself and he said I'm going to be a humble king and I think it's such a beautiful thing to see how David at one time thousands of years before this understood this same thing and said I'm going to remove my robe and I'm going to carry this glory, carry this king of glory in and when Jesus comes in to the same place he says I'm not trying

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not trying to be flashy.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not trying to present myself and announce myself before everybody, but I'm coming in writing on a donkey.

[SPEAKER_01]: You don't need even, you might not even know my name.

[SPEAKER_01]: You don't, you know my not even know anything about me, but that's okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: My power is gonna begin to work.

[SPEAKER_01]: My power is gonna begin to move.

[SPEAKER_01]: The glory of God is gonna begin to show up and be demonstrated in ways

[SPEAKER_01]: And the whole city was shaken, literally to its core, not by a loud announcement of a king, but by a humble king riding in on a donkey, who need a no permission, who need a no announcement, who need a no megaphone, no speaker, no microphone.

[SPEAKER_01]: But was just a humble king.

[SPEAKER_01]: My question about the shaking is not,

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the question I have about the shaking.

[SPEAKER_01]: We know that answer.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was simply his power.

[SPEAKER_01]: My question is, when the city was shaken, did the people recognize it?

[SPEAKER_01]: Did the people even recognize that the king of glory and all of his power had entered into that city?

[SPEAKER_01]: Because the Bible says, right after that, in the same verse that we just read, the Bible says that the city was shaken

[SPEAKER_01]: Who is this?

[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: The city is shaken to the very core and those that were living there said, who is this?

[SPEAKER_01]: Wouldn't you believe in what you guess with me that they should have known who it was?

[SPEAKER_01]: that they should have recognized his power and his authority, that they should have recognized the glory that he contained when he came entering into the city, but yet they still said who is this?

[SPEAKER_01]: My question for us today is this, when Jesus full of glory comes into the room, do you know that he's arrived?

[SPEAKER_01]: when the king of glory entered into this place this morning today did his presence begin to shake anything in you hear me this morning church

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't come into this place today to make me feel better.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't come here to try to impress anybody, but I came into this place today because I knew before I came here that the king of glory was coming.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was coming.

[SPEAKER_01]: I knew that before I even got here today, that the presence of God would fill this house, that the king of glory would be so known
