[SPEAKER_01]: Agai chapter one, we're going to reverse this three through nine, says the word of the Lord came through Hagai the prophet, is it a time for you yourselves to live in your paneled houses while this house lies in ruins?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the Lord of hosts says this, think carefully about your ways.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You have planted much, but harvested little.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You eat, but never, never, excuse me, have enough to be satisfied.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You drink, but never have enough to become drunk.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You put on clothes, but never have enough to get warm.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The wage earner puts his wages into a bag with a hole in it, next slide.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The Lord of hosts says this, think carefully about your ways.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, turn to somebody say, think carefully about your ways.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: go up into the hills, bring down lumber, and build the house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody say, build the house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Then I will be pleased with it, and be glorified says the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You expected much, but then an amount to delittle.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When you brought the harvest to your house, I ruined it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the declaration of the Lord of hosts, because my house still lies in ruins, while each of you is busy with his own house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're taking notes today, the title of today's message is simple, it's 1 out of 10, 1 out of 10, 1 out of 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Father, we thank you, Lord, for your Word today, God, we thank you for everything that you're doing, Lord in this place.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We thank you, God, for the power of your Word, for the revelation, God, for the knowledge, Lord that we receive, Lord, when we listen and we study and we dive into your Word, which is alive.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So we pray, God, that your worry will come alive in us today.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Lord, that you administer to us through the power of your word unlike ever before, and Lord, that we would be touched and marked and changed and transformed by it today, Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We receive it now, and everybody said,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So as we get started today, I've said this the last few weeks, but I want you to remember this is that one of the most important things that we can do as believers is get serious about the house of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so important, it's so important that we get serious about the house of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because when we're serious about his house, remember he'll get serious about ours.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he wants, he's deeply concerned and deeply wants to be invested into our households.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we have going on and to our relationships, our finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: our careers, all of the things that that entails.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Why is that because God, when he wants to, when he wants to build us, he will use different things in different tactics and strategies to help build our lives up.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the ways that he uses is he says, hey, I'm going to use my very word to help build your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you just apply the principles and the truce of my word, I will help build your life up.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll help build your house up into a place that you can never dream of.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it would be so amazing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's beyond your imagination, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so building God's house is something that really is beyond us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's beyond ourselves.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's something remember that has eternal value.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: building God's house has eternal reward, the things that you do in your own life, in your own house, you can't take none of that with you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The money that's sitting in your bank account ain't going with you to heaven.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The money that you have keep tucking away into your savings account, you know, it ain't going with you, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the fancy houses and the cars and the
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so the scripture is so important because really what it's saying is don't focus on all those things that are not eternal Don't get so busy and focusing on well, I've got to build my career and I've got to I've got to do this and I've got to make enough money And all that kind of said no if you trust the Lord the Lord will take care of you I mean playing in simple right if you trust in him and you stand upon his word and you believe the truth of his word and you're obedient to his word He will take care of you
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe so many times people are trying to run and scatter and they're constantly stressed out and I got to do this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I got to do this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I got to do this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And if I don't do this, what about my future?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And all that kind of stuff, like, wait a second.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't God the one that says that he's got your future taken care of?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so all we have to do is stand upon his word, believe the truth of his word, and be obedient to it, and he'll take care of the rest.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so remember there are three major things that help build the kingdom of God specifically build his house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And that is these three things if you put it on the screen number one serving number two is giving and number three is making disciples.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: These three things help build God's house, help build his kingdom.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When we go and we have this event here at the beginning of August, what are we doing?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're making disciples.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But we're doing beyond that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're also serving the community.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then guess what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're also giving.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because we're giving to them.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're giving them physical things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But we're also giving them eternal things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're giving them Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the best gift that they can get.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, but these are the three things that really help build God's house and help build his kingdom upon this earth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, as much as you are passionate about serving, you know, serving God's house, serving the kingdom and as much as you are passionate about making disciples, what I'm trying to encourage everybody is to get that excited about giving.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: where you have such a heart of generosity, where you say, yeah, I'm gonna serve the Lord, I'm gonna serve the church, I'm gonna serve his kingdom, I'm gonna make disciples, I'm gonna do everything he's called me to do, and I'm gonna give, and get excited about it, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, get excited about giving, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think that if we can get excited about it, because the Bible says that the Lord loves a cheerful giver.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's what he's looking for, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't want a stingy giver.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't want somebody, he's like,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What is he going to do with that attitude, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're looking for, in our lives, personally, we're looking to have a good, cheerful, joyful spirit when it comes to giving.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So that the Lord can take that and He can honor Him in.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so let's jump into today's message because I want to teach you something that's important.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe we'll be super helpful for us to learn today.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just letting you know for those that kind of are a little squirmy about this whole topic over the last couple of weeks.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just letting you know right now, you're in for it today, but then you don't have to worry about it after today, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll continue to talk about the tithe today, but the next week we will not.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So just we can have, we can ever take a deep breath.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah, much better.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Versus 10 through 12.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, I told you that you cannot say that whatever is in the Old Testament and when it comes to giving and giving of your tie, that's Old Testament, that's under the Old Law, that kind of stuff.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We broke that week one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I broke that all down.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Explain that all to you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So it says this Malachi chapter 3, verse 10 through 12, bring the full 10th into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Notice that, let me just help us all understand this real quick.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The food doesn't just magically appear.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God doesn't just put it there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He says,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You got to bring the full tent into my storehouse, so that why there may be food.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, in order for there to be something happenin, you got to bring the tent, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, test me in this way, says the Lord of hosts.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So now he's saying, okay, I told you what to do.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is how this works.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if you don't believe me, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Or if you're not sure, if you don't understand, this is just test me.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So the only thing in all of scripture that he says, test me,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just test me in this way and see if I will not open up the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not just a blessing, but it's an abundant blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember we talked about that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's an overflowing type of blessing, amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he says, I will rebuke the devour for you so that it will not ruin the produce of your land and your vine and your field will not fail to produce fruit.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, when you follow this biblical principle right here, he rebukes the devour off your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You no longer have to live in lack.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You no longer have to live in fear when it comes to money.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You no longer have to be financially burdened anymore.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He says, I will rebuk the devour.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I will take all of that, all of the load, all the way, all the pressures, all the stress.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take it all off of you, and I will make sure that your field never stops producing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That it always has fruit.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Glory to God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He says, says the Lord of hosts, then all the nations will consider your fort, you fortunate for you will be a delightful land, says the Lord of hosts.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, this is the only scripture in all the Bible that God tells us to test him.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Test me in this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He says, when it comes to tithing, test me in this way.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, God is saying, if you really don't believe me, just try me and watch what happens.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just watch what happens.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I took a show of hands last week.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I said, I said, I said, I'm not gonna do it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but I said, if you have been changed, if God has done something by you learning this biblical principle of tithing and you started to tithing, God started blessing your life, raise your hand,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's true.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the church that does it for you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the pastor.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's God, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he puts his hand upon your field.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, to me, I don't understand how somebody wouldn't want that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want God in every area of my life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want Him to bless my kids.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want Him to bless my marriage.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want Him to bless my job.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want Him to bless my relationships.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But God,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Not my finances.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I got that taken care of.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be in control of that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Why we would allow that deception of the enemy, where he says, I wanna be over, every, when you call me Lord, I wanna be Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanna be Lord over every area of your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the ways that I can be Lord over is I can be Lord over your finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And when I'm Lord over your finances, I'm telling you the windows of heaven are opened up over your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so you see, tithing has never been about doing something to get something.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's never been God trying to pressure you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If God was trying to pressure you, it would look completely different.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But tithing has always been about faith.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, everybody say faith.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And hear me, you don't need more money to obey God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You just need to trust the God that has everything you need.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't need more money, people say, I just need more money and then I can tie it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: No, you need a trust god with what you have now and allow him to put his blessing on it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And guess what, I'm telling you right now, you will see the increase.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, get, get, get, yes, pastor, you're right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And for some of you, God is calling you higher.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe He's calling you higher in the area of your generosity and your trust and obedience to God in the area of your finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And can I tell you something today that the best, that the greatest financial decision you can ever make is not an investment.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a house, it's not a savings.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a 401k, it's none of those things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The best investment that you could ever make is giving your tithe unto the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Give your tithe unto the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I love you enough to tell you these things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I love you enough to tell you that tithing really is the greatest financial decision that you could ever make.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the greatest one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I also love you enough to tell you and to help you to get to the place where you can trust God and enough to obey Him, not just with your relationships and your job and your health and all of those things, but trust Him in your finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I've told you over the past couple weeks, if you need help in this area, if you're confused, if you don't know how to get started, whatever it may be, let us help you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: because we wanna help you because we wanna see you financially successful and financially blessed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't wanna see anybody struggling and lacking and all that kind of stuff because that's not God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so if he says, this is the one way that I've rebuked the devour and I make sure that your field is taking care of, man, then I wanna jump all into that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanna be right into that and if I need help, I need to ask for help.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: because I want to come to the full knowledge and the revelation of what all this means, so that can stand into the blessing of the Lord and that I know that my household will be blessed and I could take care of God's house, amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So, so, tithing and giving to God really when you think about it, tithing, it makes no sense.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When you think about it, it makes no sense.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know that, you know what, neither does faith.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Faith doesn't make it a sense either.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So, if tithing doesn't make no sense, like in our practical thinking and in the earthly realm, if tithing doesn't make sense and faith doesn't make sense and faith doesn't need to make it a sense to be faith.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you put faith into action, it's not that you understand faith but faith just begins to work on your behalf.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's the same thing with the Tithe.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Tithe doesn't make sense.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But when you begin to Tithe, the Tithe begins to do something that you have no control of.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And God begins to do something just like he does with your faith.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He says, I just need a mustard seed of faith.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I can move mountains in your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, if he just needs a mustard seed of faith, and I don't even understand what that faith is, oftentimes I don't understand how that faith works, but I just know if I have faith in God that God will move the mountain, even if it's only a mustard seed, even if it just, that little, okay, if I come over here and I say, okay God, I don't understand this whole type thing, I don't know how it works, but God, I'm gonna do it, because it doesn't make sense, and then God says it's just like faith.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't make sense, but when I'm in it, and I put my hand on it, then I will begin to bless it, and I will do things with it that you can never imagine.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, I don't know about you, but I would much rather God be my banker than anybody else.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be my own banker.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be my own accountant, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want God to be in control of it, because his way is so much greater, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And with his hand upon it, I know that my finances are going to be taking care of.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, somebody say amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so look, you can't go think about this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't even go into any major college and go into any financial class or whatever.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And they teach you that in order to be blessed in your life, you gotta tie it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They'll tell you different steps and different tricks and all this of how to make money and how to invest money and all this kind of stuff.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But again, it has no eternal reward.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It has no eternal value.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll never hear that tithing will help set you up for financial success.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And any kind of book or any kind of curriculum or any kind of class that you go and sit in.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't exist.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because the enemy doesn't want it to.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's obvious.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, church.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He'd imagine if every major university, if you sat into a financial class, every major university, what if they taught you about tithing?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Students, young people, college-age students coming out of college, not in debt, but actually debt-free because they applied biblical principles that they learned when they stepped into college.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But we don't see that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because the enemy doesn't want you to be blessed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The enemy wants to rob you financially of what you have.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So he's going to try to deter this teaching of tithing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And the only way that we hear is by literally hearing the Word of God, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And what does faith do?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Faith comes by what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: and hearing by the Word of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so if this is how the Word teaches us, if this is what the Word says, and we've got to have faith to believe it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And when we put faith into action and the area of the Tithe, then God begins to do something in our lives financially.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So why do we think all that is because not only does the enemy not want you to hear it, but the systems of the world operate different.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And the systems of this world,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The tie is a kingdom system.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a kingdom thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why it doesn't make sense, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But it makes total sense when you think about it with a kingdom perspective, amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so there's three things I want to teach you about today.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: to help us all out in this area.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And number one is this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that the tide is simply a tenth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Oftentimes people say, what is the tide?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I hear that word, but what is it?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All it means is tenth, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to the tide,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to to you to really understand some biblical truths and facts that you need to know about this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And because the first question that people always say is, well, what is tithing, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Or what does that even mean?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's simple.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a tenth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you look at the Greek word there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the word dekatos, which is literally just translated to a 10th.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So tithing, a 10th, is giving unto the Lord 10% of everything that comes into your household.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: 10% of everything that comes into your household.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The first step when it comes to giving to the Lord is to understand
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you're simply the steward of what you have.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God never made you the owner.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He made you the steward.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he says, everything that I have given to you, I need you to steward and I'm calling you to steward it well.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And when it comes to our finances, we're not the owner.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He is.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he says, I need you to steward the financial blessings and the finances that I have placed in your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right, everything that comes into your household, you need a stewardet well.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When somebody gives you a gift, and it's a financial blessing, you need to stewardet well.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And oftentimes when the preacher preaches on giving, you know, people get real like, you know, squirm me in their seats, and they say things like, well, the church just wants my money.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: No?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Church is not your money to begin with.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not the church's money to begin with.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's God's.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And He has alone, amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not your money.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You steward it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just like it's not your house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's God's house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just like it's not your kids.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They're God's kids.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So the reason people won't let it go is because they think that it's theirs.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They think that the 10% that if God gave me all of this, that if He gave me a hundred percent, then I got to keep a hundred percent.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: No?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Scripture says, in Psalms 24, that the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So everything is the Lord's.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Everything is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Psalm 24 doesn't say 10% of everything is the Lord's.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now he says 100% of everything is the Lord's.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And aren't you grateful today that out of all the financial resources he blesses you with?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He allows you to keep 90%.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because when you think about it, it could be reversed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine us trying to live on 10% of your income?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We would suffer.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, it would be really tough.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So he says 10% is all I'm asking that you give back under me and you get to live off of the 90.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you don't get to just live off of the 90.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now I put my increase on the 90.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what I've come to find out that at the end of the day, you still live off of the 100.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because God says, you give me back 10%, I put my increase upon it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And now you're not just living off the 90, but really you're living off the 100.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All I'm looking for is your obedience.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: A tenth, one out of 10, everybody say one out of 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All God asks, in return, out of everything, everything he freely gives you is a tenth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not asking for 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If he gave you 10 things, he's only asking for one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And the crazy thing is that people get all twisted up and stressed out over the one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Over the one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Over one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If I had, right now,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If I had 10 watermelons here, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: 10 watermelons here, and God said, God said, I just need you to give me one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think I'm gonna freak out over the one that he asked for when I have nine left?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I have all I can do with one watermelon.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let alone two, three, nine, he lets me keep and he only asked for one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: To me, that's easy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's easy math.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's easy obedience.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's really not that hard.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The only thing that makes it hard is us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God gave you breath in your lungs.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The very breath that you are breathing right now, the very fact that your heart is beating in your chest right now and he only asks for one out of 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When he gave you perfect health, a beautiful family, he gave you a job, all of these things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he says, I just asked for one simple little watermelon.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you just give up one out of 10?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So the tie is a 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The second thing is this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That the tie, number two, is a seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The tie is a seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes when we don't tie that's because we don't know how to do it or what steps to take or maybe we just don't understand it, but many times we know the truth about tithing and what's really required of us, but we neglect or we reject it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We reject it all together, so instead of being obedient and trusting God and honoring
-
[SPEAKER_01]: what we should give.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now God gave me all of this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He gave me all 10 watermelons.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna eat all 10 watermelons.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how we think about it when it comes to our finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He gave me all of this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore, I'm gonna keep all of it and I'm gonna spend it, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so we'll say things like I can't afford to tie, but then we'll go get our nails done.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're about to go in right now.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't afford to tie it, but every morning I'll stop at Starbucks on my way to work.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa, come on, $10 a drink, he says one out of ten.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't afford to tie it past her, it doesn't add up in my finances, but then we go by the latest iPhone 17 Pro Max 512 gigs.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We know you'll want the 256.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We got to go double.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We will never touch 256, but we go for the 5'12.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't afford to tie it right now, but I'm scrolling through TikTok and man, I'm on TikTok store, and I'm just buying stuff left and right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, hey, come on, so I'm stepping on toes right now.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Pastor, I just can't tie it because, you know, we just don't, we don't make enough money and you know, we just have enough to pay bills and all that kind of stuff, just not sure, you know, how we can even make that happen, but then every time, you know, I come to your house, there's Amazon boxes all over the front porch.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, I just don't understand, and I know the Lord is like, wait a second.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All I asked is for one watermelon out of 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're eating all 10 watermelon.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You really only need one, but you're eating 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But once your point pass, or I'll tell you, oftentimes we choose to eat what we should be seating.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God calls us to seed something, and we choose to eat it rather than seed it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You should be sewing your seed, but oftentimes what happens is you are eating your seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And God saying, I can't do anything in the area of your finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If every time I give you seed, you eat the seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Every time I give you 10 watermelons, you eat all 10 watermelons.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you not know that that is more than enough?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That really you only need one watermelon?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But I gave you 10, and instead of offering one back to me, you are stuffing yourself full of the sea that I am commanding you to give.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: but I love you anyways.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So let me tell you what happens because this is where people get in financial trouble and financial misshap all the time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they come running, I'm passing, I don't know what to do.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well listen, if you eat your seed today, you're actually eating your harvest of tomorrow.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Eating your seed today is actually eating the harvest of your tomorrow.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, months go by and years go by and he said, well God promised me this and God spoke and God said this and he said he was gonna do all this and all that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he did say it and he wanted to give you the harvest but you ate your harvest because you ate your seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So here's what takes place.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is why I have to stop talking about timing after today and give y'all a break for next week, because it can be heavy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But here's what takes place.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We eat our seed today instead of showing our seed unto the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then the next week we say, God, where's my harvest that I've been believing for?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And God said, I actually had the harvest lined up for you, but you ate it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you ate it, you devoured what I was going to bless you with, but all you were doing is satisfying your very soul.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you will just come into the understanding and the revelation of my word and come to the knowledge that I am the one that can satisfy you, and I alone you would not feast upon the seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you would sow the seed, expecting a harvest in faith, and then you would be able to actually have the harvest.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Church, it's simple.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't eat your seed, sow your seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Turn to some end to on that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't eat your seed, sow your seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you, some of us, can I just say this in a, can I say this in a loving, funny way?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of us are overweight with the seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're overweight with the seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I have eaten so much of the seed that I don't even know what to do with myself anymore.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And God's like, I'm really trying to help you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you would just so back,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you would just so back, you still would be full.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it would still be an abundance.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The scripture says this, he gives seed to the soar.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So if I'm so worried about eating all of the seed, then I'm not understanding the truth of God's word, where he says he already gives me the seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So why am I eating the seed if he gives me seed?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All I'm doing is I'm saying, God, I don't trust you in the area of my finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, I'm choosing to not be obedient.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm blatantly choosing to not be obedient in the area of my finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll come to church.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll worship you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll lift my hands.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give my children to you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give everything to you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll surrender all of it to you, but I'm not gonna surrender my finances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna continue to eat.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Tithing, let me tell you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All Tithing is his love.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Typing is love.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Typing is not a task.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not what you have to do, but it's what you get to do.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we do it out of our love for God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We do it out of our love for Him.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God, I love you so much.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You gave me all of this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm giving a small portion back to you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So number one, Typing is a tenth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Number two, the Tybe is a seed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And number three is this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: anointed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The tie is anointed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So when it comes to the tie, the math is not complicated.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So if the math is not complicated, why is tie being complicated?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me tell you why, because there is constant warfare around your tie.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There is constant spiritual warfare around the
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The enemy loves to get you trapped.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He loves to get you deceived.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He loves to get you believing lies about the tithe and why does he do that?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because he knows that if you give the one, God puts the anointing on the nine.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He knows that, God knows that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And the enemy knows it too.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If they just give one back to God, then the nine is anointed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And let me tell you the raw truth, you can do way more with God's annoying thing on the nine than you could ever do on your own effort with all 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All day long, that's God's math.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's kingdom math right there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: A hundred percent.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I told you this last week, you will always be in an area of constant survival mode and trying to survive in living in a place of lack when you don't follow this biblical truth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And pastor, it's really hard to give 10% to the church, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let me help you then.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: First thing you need to understand about tithing is this that you don't give to the church you give through the church.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Pastor, I can't give to the church.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now you don't give me the church anyway.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So quit worrying about that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You're giving through the church.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When you give through the church, you're giving to God, and the church is simply the portal or the tool or the resource to which you're giving him what you have.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so that the kingdom of God can go forward.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so that we can have heart for the city's school supply drives and bless a bunch of kids that don't have school supplies this next coming year with supplies.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's because of people who are obedient in the area of the tide and they say, you know what I'm gonna give.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna give so that the kingdom of God can be at work to bless these families.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's just using church of the city as the tool to be the ones that are the hands and feet, but it's him that's doing it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And can I tell you how people think when it comes to the tide?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like going shopping for clothes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're driving and you come up to a store and you look at the window of the store.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And in the window of the store, there's a sign that says, everything is 10% off.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And when you look at that, you're like, not bad, but 10% is not very much.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Then you continue driving and you come up on another one of your favorite stores, and you look in the window, and it says, everything is 25% off.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You skipped the one that said 10% off, and you went right into the one that was 25% off.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't care about the one that was 10% off, why?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because 10% is not a lot.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's nothing at the end of the day off of your bill.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're buying a whole bunch of clothes, 10% off is nothing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's nothing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But then the 25% off pulls your attention, and you pull in real quickly because you know you're about to get a deal.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And let me ask you church, why is 10% not a lot in the store that you shop in, but when it comes to God, all of a sudden, 10% is so much.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It has nothing to do with money.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It has to do with your heart.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a condition of your heart.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a mindset.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hear me church, one out of 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: One out of 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't ask for 25%.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't ask for 50%.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just 10%.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: 10%.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Says I'm giving you everything.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He says, as a matter of fact, I gave you my son Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't just offer to you 10% of my son.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't offer to you 25% of my son.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Heck, I didn't even give you half of my son, or even 99%, but I willingly gave of my son, 100% of my son for you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And yet, you argue with me over 10% that I'm asking for back.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, God, that he didn't give half of his son.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll give, but maybe I'll give two percent.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What have God only gave you two percent?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What have he only offered you two percent of a healing?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Two percent of breakthrough.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Two percent of freedom.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, you wouldn't make it very far.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't be very fun.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You probably give up on God real quick, but he says, I'ma everything you cry out for, I'ma give you a hundred percent of it and some.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And some, I'll give you everything.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you'll have more than enough.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll make sure that all of your field is taken care of.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Your household, your children, your children, children, your descendants.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll make sure that every area of your life is taken care of because I give you 100% all the time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All the time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All the time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just asking for 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just asking for 10.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you give me one out of 10?
