  1. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I am excited to be here.

  2. [SPEAKER_01]: It's funny when I was told that I was asked to share.

  3. [SPEAKER_01]: I was volunteer to share.

  4. [SPEAKER_01]: It's funny how God starts to work with you when he wants to prepare you.

  5. [SPEAKER_01]: to get to the place where you can receive in order to give.

  6. [SPEAKER_01]: And I say that because we come with expectation, it's not that Eric's going to say something, that's going to be like, wow, look what Eric's done, but it is what God's going to say and what God's going to do because it is God, it is the Holy Spirit that makes a difference in our life.

  7. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I want to start with just a little confession talking about the process and which guide did to get me here.

  8. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I'll start in on the message that God has for me, because I was really struggling with this.

  9. [SPEAKER_01]: I was struggling from this standpoint of...

  10. [SPEAKER_01]: doing it perfect and really trying to get it down, saying, you know what, I need to do it like our great pastor does, our pastor is wonderful, he's a good teacher.

  11. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just like, I need to do it his way.

  12. [SPEAKER_01]: So the last time I was before you about a year ago, I brought my computer because he always has his out, and I had my three points, because he always has his three points, you know, and had it all together.

  13. [SPEAKER_01]: And then God's like, what are you doing?

  14. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like, and I had to say, yeah, but I'm doing what's expected, and he's like, no, I need you to be Eric.

  15. [SPEAKER_01]: I need you to be you.

  16. [SPEAKER_01]: I need to see your uniqueness because when you allow me,

  17. [SPEAKER_01]: to use you, who I created you to be, people are able to see a different side of me and understand me a different way because I created each person uniquely.

  18. [SPEAKER_01]: Each person has a part of me.

  19. [SPEAKER_01]: and God wants to show that part.

  20. [SPEAKER_01]: And when we don't, when we try to imitate someone else, when we try to do it the way that's expected to be done, we are limiting God on the earth.

  21. [SPEAKER_01]: We're not allowing him to be who he wants to be, because we have the image of God, and that image is seen when we stand fourth and say, hey, I'm Eric, and you see me, you're looking at God.

  22. [SPEAKER_01]: and to be comfortable with that, and to understand that hey, I don't need to do it pretty, I don't need to do it perfect.

  23. [SPEAKER_01]: I need to do it the way in which God laid it in my heart to do.

  24. [SPEAKER_01]: So my confession to you is just like, I was struggling because I was going back and forth between, okay, this is the way it's supposed to be done, and I'm a teacher,

  25. [SPEAKER_01]: So I understand the way it's supposed to be done, how to talk before people, how to make sure I have the points to different kind of illustrations, you know, give for the person that's a tactile person, the one that's like verbal and the one that's visual, so have all these different ways to make sure I get the point home.

  26. [SPEAKER_01]: So I can reach every one.

  27. [SPEAKER_01]: And God was like,

  28. [SPEAKER_01]: My booth struts the, I'm just kind of, people would say, winging it, but I don't winging it.

  29. [SPEAKER_01]: I actually follow the spirit and I've been getting away from that when I've been teaching God's word because I feel like I need to do it the other way.

  30. [SPEAKER_01]: And so God's like, no, you need to do it the way that I've been teaching you that I put into your spirit to do it.

  31. [SPEAKER_01]: So I do have what you think would be noticed, but they're not really notes.

  32. [SPEAKER_01]: There are just the verses and it's just a reminder of them because

  33. [SPEAKER_01]: If you ever hear me speak, a lot of times when I'm closing out worship, I'm talking the Bible, but I don't tell you where it is.

  34. [SPEAKER_01]: I just expect you to know where it is.

  35. [SPEAKER_01]: And guys, like, what if you're going to preach, you should actually tell them where it is, and so they can understand where it is, so they can go back and look at it.

  36. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's what I have before me is just that.

  37. [SPEAKER_01]: But the message that he's giving me, I believe it is for everyone this in the room.

  38. [SPEAKER_01]: because he's called us all here, because that's what the Spirit does.

  39. [SPEAKER_01]: We can't even get saved without Him.

  40. [SPEAKER_01]: We think that, oh, you know, someone said something that sounded good, and that's how I met God.

  41. [SPEAKER_01]: No, you met God because He was searching for you.

  42. [SPEAKER_01]: You met God because He reached out to where you were and pulled you into Him.

  43. [SPEAKER_01]: And because he pulled you in, that's how you met him.

  44. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how you're able to see him.

  45. [SPEAKER_01]: And the more we lean into him, we understand who he is.

  46. [SPEAKER_01]: And we say, I'm not afraid to meet you.

  47. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how we get to know him more.

  48. [SPEAKER_01]: So, yes, so the next thing that we're going to do is we're just going to have a little time of silence.

  49. [SPEAKER_01]: It's maybe uncomfortable with some people, but I really just want to hear that what the Lord has to say.

  50. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is this is Eric's way of doing it because I want to hear what God is saying, and he's not just speaking to my heart, but doing this time, be reaching

  51. [SPEAKER_01]: because you pull out of me what you are hungry for.

  52. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you come to church and you think, oh, it's going to be just a good word.

  53. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be entertained.

  54. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you're going to get.

  55. [SPEAKER_01]: But if you come to church saying, God, I want to meet you.

  56. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to see you in a different light.

  57. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to know you in a different way.

  58. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you get.

  59. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the spirit draws from the person who's up front.

  60. [SPEAKER_01]: Even if the person's not prepared to say things, because I've heard many stories where people have stopped in the middle of their message that they've been sweating over for a week or two, and they say something, they're like, why in the world did I say that?

  61. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was because it was needed for someone else.

  62. [SPEAKER_01]: Someone in there was asking God a question and God answered that question at that time.

  63. [SPEAKER_01]: So my encouragement to you is that we're being quiet, listening to God, that you are actually pulling,

  64. [SPEAKER_01]: I sing God to speak to you in a special way this morning.

  65. [SPEAKER_01]: So, Father, we just come to you, Holy Spirit, I sing you to invade this space.

  66. [SPEAKER_00]: Help us hear from you.

  67. [SPEAKER_01]: For it is not about Eric, it's not about me.

  68. [SPEAKER_01]: It is about what you have for us today.

  69. [SPEAKER_01]: You know where we're struggling, you know where we are weak, you know us.

  70. [SPEAKER_01]: And we are asking, lead, lead this time, we pray.

  71. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Lord, for speaking to us.

  72. [SPEAKER_01]: So today's topic, what we're going to be talking about, is taken from, was set free.

  73. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure that there's an lovely graphic for it.

  74. [SPEAKER_01]: Did you make a graphic?

  75. [SPEAKER_01]: You did, OK.

  76. [SPEAKER_01]: And you're thinking, set free.

  77. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, set free from what?

  78. [SPEAKER_01]: Set free from who?

  79. [SPEAKER_01]: Set free from how?

  80. [SPEAKER_01]: It is all those questions because it is Jesus and what He has done that set is free.

  81. [SPEAKER_01]: So if we look at John 836, this is where this is taken from.

  82. [SPEAKER_01]: And it says, therefore, if the Son sets you free, you are really will be free.

  83. [SPEAKER_01]: I like the King James Version, and it says who the son has said free is free indeed.

  84. [SPEAKER_01]: So that means that without any question, you have been said free.

  85. [SPEAKER_01]: I noticed, and this is kind of for Church of the City, that there has been some struggles that we have been going through.

  86. [SPEAKER_01]: that there have been some times that in the spirit I have felt and other people in leadership have felt that there is like a blockade that God only gets so far and that is not condemning

  87. [SPEAKER_01]: It is not a negative thing, but how do we get to this place where freedom that Christ has given us?

  88. [SPEAKER_01]: How do we actually walk that freedom out?

  89. [SPEAKER_01]: And so when we are gathered together or when we are out and about that we experience that freedom totally.

  90. [SPEAKER_01]: Not partially, not halfway, not to a point, but all the way.

  91. [SPEAKER_01]: Because this freedom is not on us.

  92. [SPEAKER_01]: It is what Christ has done.

  93. [SPEAKER_01]: It is not something that we thought we needed.

  94. [SPEAKER_01]: It is actually what God's will is.

  95. [SPEAKER_01]: His will is that you are free.

  96. [SPEAKER_01]: His will is that you walk in complete freedom and every area of your lives.

  97. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm so grateful that he is taking me through the process of being free.

  98. [SPEAKER_01]: sad-free completely free to the point that you know what I can stand here in a apologize when I know that I've been wrong or talk about my struggles because I understand it's not about me, it's about him, it's about what he is doing and for me to get to that point that I can fully be free.

  99. [SPEAKER_01]: What the biggest thing that we've noticed and just be with me, stay with me for a bit, a lot of times when we call the altar, we ask people to come up to the altar.

  100. [SPEAKER_01]: This is what people usually do.

  101. [SPEAKER_01]: And if it's you, it's okay.

  102. [SPEAKER_01]: Just don't look to the left, right, don't let anyone know, then talk about you.

  103. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's all right.

  104. [SPEAKER_01]: But what happens is you can be sitting down and then

  105. [SPEAKER_01]: someone up there will call for the altar and you're like yes I need to come to the altar and so you take your burden you take whatever it is and you place it down at the altar and then you're up here like oh yes hallelujah praise God and you get you get you know test and you're like fall out and be slain and just like on the floor and you're just like wow that was really good praise God praise God that was so good and you've put you back up

  106. [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever you lay down, and you go back to your seat, then that was so good.

  107. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I am so happy I came to church.

  108. [SPEAKER_01]: I am so happy I was there.

  109. [SPEAKER_01]: This is not freedom.

  110. [SPEAKER_01]: If I pick it back up, I'm not free.

  111. [SPEAKER_01]: If I pick it back up, what I'm saying is, whatever I lay down is more important than what God just gave me.

  112. [SPEAKER_01]: Because we're not talking about ourselves.

  113. [SPEAKER_01]: We're talking about who God is.

  114. [SPEAKER_01]: Because we confess, I'm a Christian.

  115. [SPEAKER_01]: And I shake my head after the time when I see people and I even look at myself like, oh, can I say that I'm a Christian right now?

  116. [SPEAKER_01]: Am I accent like Christ?

  117. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so.

  118. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's my own conviction.

  119. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's because I have my burden and I wear it and sometimes I wear it like a badge.

  120. [SPEAKER_01]: This is my badge of honor.

  121. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, did you hear?

  122. [SPEAKER_01]: I walk up to you and you say, Eric, how are you doing?

  123. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what, I made it, it's, I'm doing all right.

  124. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was a little depressed this week, but it's okay.

  125. [SPEAKER_01]: God saw me through.

  126. [SPEAKER_01]: I was a little tired, a little defeated, but God made it so that I can make it over.

  127. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I stumbled, I fell, but God was okay.

  128. [SPEAKER_01]: You hear what's wrong with that?

  129. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about the things I'm struggling with.

  130. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about how I've been defeated, and I'm not giving recognition to the truth of who God is.

  131. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the Bible tells us that we are more than conquerors.

  132. [SPEAKER_01]: He tells us that we are overcomers.

  133. [SPEAKER_01]: And he tells us that we are willing to confront the truth.

  134. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I could be depressed.

  135. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I could be struggling.

  136. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I could fall in into sin.

  137. [SPEAKER_01]: That can be a fact.

  138. [SPEAKER_01]: but that's not the truth.

  139. [SPEAKER_01]: See, there's a difference between fact and truth.

  140. [SPEAKER_01]: But when we get those two mixed up, that's when we get in trouble.

  141. [SPEAKER_01]: Because of my facts become the truth, then it tick takes the type of life I'm gonna have.

  142. [SPEAKER_01]: When my facts become my truth, I negate what God has done in my life.

  143. [SPEAKER_01]: When my facts become truth, they become bigger than what God is.

  144. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I say in that God's by all and all, but in reality, it is the facts of my life that's dictating how I live.

  145. [SPEAKER_01]: So if I, if my fact is I had issues with alcohol or if I had issues with pornography, I've had issues with drugs.

  146. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a fact, but that's not the truth.

  147. [SPEAKER_01]: So if I'm just saying, yes, I'm an addict, yes, I'm an alcoholic, yes, you know, I dab a little foreign or I dab a little this, I dab a little that, but you know, I'm a man, it's okay, like that's an excuse.

  148. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's meaning that being a man is greater than the power of God in my life.

  149. [SPEAKER_01]: Because anytime I make an excuse for what's going on in my life, above the power what God is doing, I'm saying that that's more powerful.

  150. [SPEAKER_01]: This is what God has been showing me, stopping us as a community, to stepping into what God has for us.

  151. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, those that have been showing up, you see how God has been moving in this place.

  152. [SPEAKER_01]: His spirit has been flowing in this place, but we keep getting to a point and we stop.

  153. [SPEAKER_01]: And that God's been telling me that we stop at the point of where we're comfortable, because I like being depressed.

  154. [SPEAKER_01]: This is who I am.

  155. [SPEAKER_01]: When someone tells me what's going on,

  156. [SPEAKER_01]: And I asked me, Eric, how are you doing?

  157. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing all right, I had a good week, you know?

  158. [SPEAKER_01]: I was a little sad, but I made it through.

  159. [SPEAKER_01]: That's my badge.

  160. [SPEAKER_01]: Instead of saying, by the grace of God, I made it over.

  161. [SPEAKER_01]: By the goodness of God, I made it through.

  162. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about my difficulty because God is greater than that.

  163. [SPEAKER_01]: The Bible also lets us know that when we focus in on Him, the things of this world become smaller, they become to the point that we don't even notice them.

  164. [SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like if you're ever did perspective and drawing.

  165. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you want a person to understand what you're trying to focus in on, so you place an item close to the front, because that's what you want, that's what you want the focus to be.

  166. [SPEAKER_01]: It's always to the front.

  167. [SPEAKER_01]: So my question to you is, where is God in your picture?

  168. [SPEAKER_01]: Is God in the front or is he in the back over in the corner?

  169. [SPEAKER_01]: Is he only a shadow that you barely can tell that he's even there?

  170. [SPEAKER_01]: Where is he in your picture?

  171. [SPEAKER_01]: Because that's important, because that's how we talk about him.

  172. [SPEAKER_01]: As the scripture was read even for our offering.

  173. [SPEAKER_01]: This is where your heart is, that's where your treasure is.

  174. [SPEAKER_01]: So if your treasure is with God, that's where your heart would be.

  175. [SPEAKER_01]: And if your heart's with God, then he is your treasure.

  176. [SPEAKER_01]: And we know that when you're excited about something, you're always talking about it.

  177. [SPEAKER_01]: You're always bringing it up.

  178. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter what the topic is, it seems to turn that way.

  179. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you're a topic, it's about the latest football game, which is okay, but it never turns towards God.

  180. [SPEAKER_01]: That means your heart is on that football, and that football means more than God does.

  181. [SPEAKER_01]: If your heart is on the latest trend or the latest influencer or what you saw in the news or on media, social media, that's where your heart is.

  182. [SPEAKER_01]: As I mean, God doesn't have your heart, but yet you're confessing, I believe, I'm a believer.

  183. [SPEAKER_01]: I know God's going to do something, God's going to work in my life, God's going to God's going to God's going to God's going to God's going to, God's going to, but are you giving him the space or you giving him the ability to work in your life?

  184. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you serious about your faith?

  185. [SPEAKER_01]: Or is this just a game?

  186. [SPEAKER_01]: Is this something to buy your time and to you die and go to heaven where you'll be with him?

  187. [SPEAKER_01]: Because a lot of times that's what we wanna do.

  188. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how we look at Christianity.

  189. [SPEAKER_01]: We look at it as this is something that I'm doing in order to make sure that I'll end up in hell.

  190. [SPEAKER_01]: Instead of what God has said that we bring heaven from heaven down to earth.

  191. [SPEAKER_01]: So it means that this earth should be heaven.

  192. [SPEAKER_01]: And that means our days are full of joy, our days are full of peace, our days are full of love, but in order to get to that point, we have to be willing to step out of that comfort zone.

  193. [SPEAKER_01]: Another illustration that God showed me was a prison cell.

  194. [SPEAKER_01]: We know that that God has set us free.

  195. [SPEAKER_01]: So that means that the prison door is open.

  196. [SPEAKER_01]: But what we can do through our own experiences, we can stay inside that cell, and the door is open, and we never walk out of that door.

  197. [SPEAKER_01]: Why we never walk out of the door because of fear?

  198. [SPEAKER_01]: We never walk out of the door because of anxiety.

  199. [SPEAKER_01]: We never walk out of that door because we don't know what it's like on the other side.

  200. [SPEAKER_01]: But you know what?

  201. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm okay with my shame.

  202. [SPEAKER_01]: I know what it feels like to be shamed.

  203. [SPEAKER_01]: I know what it feels like to feel fear.

  204. [SPEAKER_01]: And I know what it feels like to feel warpless, to feel less than.

  205. [SPEAKER_01]: To, I know what it feels like to be a sinner.

  206. [SPEAKER_01]: I know what it feels like to be a victim.

  207. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I am okay, so what I do is I create for me a space within that cell, and I build a wall based upon my experiences, based upon my past.

  208. [SPEAKER_01]: And I stay there because it's comfortable.

  209. [SPEAKER_01]: This is where I live.

  210. [SPEAKER_01]: This is my space.

  211. [SPEAKER_01]: So, when if you talk to me, I talk to you from here.

  212. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, God's good.

  213. [SPEAKER_01]: He's good.

  214. [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, when I was younger, my dad abused me.

  215. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I act the way I act.

  216. [SPEAKER_01]: When I was younger, I didn't have any friends.

  217. [SPEAKER_01]: when I was younger, this happened, when I was younger, that happened when I was younger.

  218. [SPEAKER_01]: You see, defining ourselves from our paths, it's not speaking of the truth of who God is right now.

  219. [SPEAKER_01]: and we limit ourselves.

  220. [SPEAKER_01]: And so we stay within this confound, this box into this larger cell that we're in, that the door is open, but we choose not to walk out because this is life.

  221. [SPEAKER_01]: This is how I define myself.

  222. [SPEAKER_01]: I understand how to be arrogant in this space, but I don't know how to be arrogant over there.

  223. [SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know what, definitely don't know how to be arrogant out there.

  224. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's okay, I trust you Lord, as long as I stay here.

  225. [SPEAKER_01]: I love you, Lord, as long as I'm in this spot.

  226. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you, as long as you're with me in this spot.

  227. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's not what God wants.

  228. [SPEAKER_01]: God is unlimited.

  229. [SPEAKER_01]: He wants to be able to bring us to the place where we can start to get out of that place, get out of that confined area.

  230. [SPEAKER_01]: And the cool thing about God is he's willing to remove the bricks that we've placed there.

  231. [SPEAKER_01]: So those that brick of shame, that brick of value, self-value, low self-esteem, that brick of hatred, self-hatred, that brick of misery, that brick of sadness, that brick of depression, he's willing to remove it.

  232. [SPEAKER_01]: From us, if we're willing to let it go, but he's not going to force it.

  233. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not going to push it down.

  234. [SPEAKER_01]: He's going to let it stay erected around you and keep calling you out.

  235. [SPEAKER_01]: But he's not going to move it until you allow him to.

  236. [SPEAKER_01]: So it is up to us to have that desire to change.

  237. [SPEAKER_01]: And let me tell you, you don't need to do anything to change except to say yes to him.

  238. [SPEAKER_01]: Because when we say yes to him, he's willing to go in.

  239. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he wants us to change.

  240. [SPEAKER_01]: He wants to bring truth into our lives.

  241. [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't like it when we are stuck.

  242. [SPEAKER_01]: And all we see is all the negative things that have happened to us.

  243. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, those are facts.

  244. [SPEAKER_01]: We can't change the past.

  245. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we've made mistakes, but that's okay.

  246. [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone has made a mistake at one time or another.

  247. [SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't define who I am today.

  248. [SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't define who you are today unless you let it.

  249. [SPEAKER_01]: And so when we turn it over to God and allow him to remove it, he cleanses us wide as snow.

  250. [SPEAKER_01]: He takes everything that we've ever done and it says in Romans that he turns it for our good.

  251. [SPEAKER_01]: So that means that past that we have been so shameful of and afraid if they knew what I did, when I did it, who I did it with, how I enjoyed it, any of that.

  252. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter because God can redeem it, because He sent the Redeemer.

  253. [SPEAKER_01]: That is who Jesus is.

  254. [SPEAKER_01]: He is our Redeemer.

  255. [SPEAKER_01]: But we have to allow Him to redeem us.

  256. [SPEAKER_01]: We have to allow Him to be who He wants to be in our lives.

  257. [SPEAKER_01]: That is our choice.

  258. [SPEAKER_01]: And we have to make a decision.

  259. [SPEAKER_01]: So the decision starts today.

  260. [SPEAKER_01]: You're in this room, and God's talking about, are you gonna stay in your comfort zone?

  261. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you going to allow freedom to really reign in your life?

  262. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you gonna allow the truth of God to matter more than the facts of your past?

  263. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a choice that we make.

  264. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a choice that you need to make today because you may be able to stand and you may be able to go forward but you can only do it right with him because he is the difference maker.

  265. [SPEAKER_01]: Because our human efforts are flawed, no matter how we look at them, no matter how we try to work it.

  266. [SPEAKER_01]: We can only do so much.

  267. [SPEAKER_01]: And we can force it, we can push it, we can manipulate it, we can reform it, we can redress it, rename it, you know, trying to make us something that it's not.

  268. [SPEAKER_01]: But in reality, it will always go back to what it really is, but God removes it.

  269. [SPEAKER_01]: The Bible tells us that he removes our sin as far as the east is from the west.

  270. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you really thought about that phrase, but if I'm standing here and this is east here and this is a west here, and I say, well, I'm gonna travel west,

  271. [SPEAKER_01]: East is still just as far as it was as soon as I moved because no matter how far West, I keep going because the earth is round, I will still be at the same distance, East is I was from West.

  272. [SPEAKER_01]: So it is a place that never meets up.

  273. [SPEAKER_01]: So that means that when God removes our sins, that we never meet up with them again.

  274. [SPEAKER_01]: But we have to decide that

  275. [SPEAKER_01]: God is greater than that, than that sin, than that action, than that feeling that we have.

  276. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I didn't talk about this, but yes, it's important because you're thinking, well, I don't know, you know, the enemy keeps doing these things to me.

  277. [SPEAKER_01]: I believe we give so much credit to the devil that the devil's not even in charge of.

  278. [SPEAKER_01]: Because it is, we enjoy.

  279. [SPEAKER_01]: being there.

  280. [SPEAKER_01]: We enjoy being in our comfort zone, being safe in our walled city, which becomes our own prison, and becomes like a coffin around us because we want to interact with the outside world.

  281. [SPEAKER_01]: We want to go forward.

  282. [SPEAKER_01]: We want to do something different.

  283. [SPEAKER_01]: We want to be able to go on to what's in our hearts to do.

  284. [SPEAKER_01]: But we can't, because we're in this place, we're trapped.

  285. [SPEAKER_01]: But God, but God, He removes us from that place.

  286. [SPEAKER_01]: And He takes us on a journey to get us outside of the gates.

  287. [SPEAKER_01]: From the prison, outside of the sale,

  288. [SPEAKER_01]: down the hallway where other people are in trap to the place that we get outside of the jail itself outside of the building into the pastors, into the place that he has set aside.

  289. [SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like the image of Psalms 23.

  290. [SPEAKER_01]: that he leads us beside that still water, and that he renews our soul, that he takes us to the pasture, that brings joy to our souls, and that makes us whole.

  291. [SPEAKER_01]: But we have to be willing to go there.

  292. [SPEAKER_01]: It is a voluntary response that we make.

  293. [SPEAKER_01]: and what He is able to do from there.

  294. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not up to us to carry.

  295. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not up to us to wonder.

  296. [SPEAKER_01]: It's only up to us to keep saying yes to what he's asking of us.

  297. [SPEAKER_01]: Because if we keep saying, yes, that's when we start to take steps away from that comfort zone.

  298. [SPEAKER_01]: We take steps by saying, yes, to him, and he takes us beyond that to the glorious place.

  299. [SPEAKER_01]: And we can experience things like joy.

  300. [SPEAKER_01]: We can experience things like peace.

  301. [SPEAKER_01]: And what will happen to you and I can testify is that your resting place becomes the place of peace.

  302. [SPEAKER_01]: Your normal reaction is a reaction of joy.

  303. [SPEAKER_01]: Not anger, not frustration, not anxiety, but joy.

  304. [SPEAKER_01]: I know for some of us that is like, how in the heck do you get there?

  305. [SPEAKER_01]: It is by that constant saying yes to him and walking it out with him.
