“Life Goes On” - Genesis Chapter 35 - Pastor Scotty Brown

Alrighty, if you've got a Bible this morning, or are we almost afternoon, would

you turn to Genesis 35? We've been looking at the this this life of this

dude named Jacob, aka Israel, and that's very significant, that name change, and

what we're seeing today, I don't know if you guys saw it this this week, but

yesterday or the day before Amir Tsarfati gave an update on what is next

for Israel, and if you have not seen that, I encourage you to go and look at it.

It's actually quite powerful what God has planned for this people, for

his people, and the Bible says you and I are grafted in as believers in the Lord

Jesus Christ, that we have been born again, we have been rescued for a purpose

and a plan, and God is going to work that plan if you and I let him, so I

pray that that's your heart, and so we left off in verse 15

where Jacob was back at Bethel, and he poured a drink offering, and he poured

oil, and we talked about that oil being a type of the Holy Spirit,

that Jacob's name has been changed from that conniving, sneaking, rotten rat

that he was, to this prince with God is what Israel means, or some have said

governed by God, but the fact is, is Jacob came to the end of himself, have you

come to the end of yourself today? I entitled this message "Life Goes On" when

you come to the end of yourself, and you come to Christ, and the Lord opens these

new doors and gives you new eyes, my friend and I were talking about that

this week, just how you see things once you're born again. I left off last week

sharing out of John and just Jesus's instruction to the very religious

fellow named Nicodemus, so you must be born again, and God gives you a new set

of eyes, you can just see things that you've never seen before, you can see the

lies and the darkness and the fiery darts of the evil one, and if you

can't see that and you've been blinded, the Bible says that's

Satan's ploy, is to keep people in the dark of what's going on, what's going on

in the world, what's going on around you. I've got a squeak up here that is

driving me absolutely crazy, I can't even shift my weight without it sounding like

an inappropriate sound. But the Lord's working and life does go on, and

that just because you come to Christ, just because you're born again, it

doesn't mean that life gets easier, right? We just simply have our eyes open, and

actually, it's about the only difference is, is now you know when to duck, right?

You can see it coming, and so the Lord, he definitely shines his light on

us, and that's what's going on in Jacob's life, but because life goes on, we're

gonna pick it up in verse 16, we'll read through verse 21, I know it's

an odd place to stop, but we'll do it. "Then they journeyed from Beth-El," so

now they leave Beth-El, which is house of God, "and when there was but a little

distance to go to Ephrathath, Rachel labored in childbirth, and she had hard

labor. Now it came to pass when she saw, when she was in hard labor, that the

midwife said to her, 'Do not fear, you will have this son also.' And so it was as her

soul was departing, for she died, that she called his name Ben-Oni, but his father

called him Benjamin. And so Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrathath,"

which is Bethlehem, "and Jacob set a pillar on her grave," which is the pillar of

Rachel's grave to this day, "and then Israel journeyed and pitched his tent

beyond the tower of Edor, and it happened when Israel dwelt in the land that

Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father's concubine, and Israel heard

about it." Weird, let's pray. Lord thank you for your Word and we just we know

that there's always nuggets to glean when we read about the the life and the

death of the people throughout Scripture. Lord that they're just like us and they

have trouble just like us and that they're gonna face death just like us

unless you tarry or unless your coming is is soon and some of us it needs to be

sooner than others. And so Lord we just praise you that you you are coming and

we have that future and that hope and Lord that you would truly just help us

to absorb some nuggets out of the truth of your word Lord in these chapters 35

and 36 here in the book of Genesis. And God we we just thank you thank you that

you you don't leave us as orphans Lord but you give us away and you make a way

for us and you've done that through the Lord Jesus and it's in your name Lord

Jesus we pray, amen. So so they they pack up and they're journeying and the only

reason I think why they're packing up and they're gonna make a 30 mile

trek to the south and simply to go see Jacob's Papa. We know is Isaac or Israel's

Papa as he's called now and and they so they're on this journey and they're

heading south and about 15 miles in Rachel goes into labor now they're

obviously quite a bit older his oldest boys are probably in their 20s at this

time this may be what they what they consider a geriatric pregnancy. Have you

heard of those? Was it past 35 Susan? Past 35 years old if you get pregnant

it's a geriatric pregnancy. I thought that was interesting because my

daughter was 35 when she had her baby I said geriatric I thought that only

applied to me. But we don't know if that was the case obviously there seems to be

a little less tension about pregnancies and having babies as before you know

they were flipping coins and passing chicks around to Jacob to get as many

babies as they could and it was it was a it was quite the soap opera as the

stomach turns. There doesn't seem to be this catty wild competition among the

women or the sisters at this point you know and so they're kind of settled in I

think and and and she's pregnant and some think that Rachel believed that she

would get pregnant again simply because of what she named her first son his

name was? Who was her first Rachel's first son? Bible trivia Joseph right it

means adding that she you know remember back way back when she she chastised

Jacob give me children lest I die right and she was he was she was beside

herself and he gets mad at her am I in the place of God I'm not in control of

the womb that's God's deal and that is God's deal we see it throughout

Scripture God's the one who allows those little ones to be conceived and so I

know a lot of women say God why did you do this but he does it and and where to

live with it and and so Rachel's heart no doubt was settled so having this

second baby was just kind of icing on the cake for her now she's having this

baby but her labor is hard and her midwife encourages her sure enough

Rachel dies which probably was fairly common back then you know you had any

kind of a hemorrhage and and you know couldn't get into an emergency room or

whatever that that that happened quite often I was talking to a friend of mine

the other day and she her daughter had twins and she was the way her body was

she was gonna you know have multiple eggs at the same time out that she was

you know she could even have triplets she had two sets of twins and she went

in to get this procedure done while she was pregnant with the second set and her

heart was so for her children that she said save my babies if it comes down to

me or the babies you save my babies and let me go and I just thought that's an

awesome heart that's a that's a unfeigned sacrificial love right and and

so often today we we don't see that and so she's encouraged by her she goes hey

you're gonna have you're gonna have this little boy and so as Benjamin is born

and her life is is fading away in her departing last words actually is he's

son of my sorrow think about that her whole life there for a while was about

having a baby that was her whole life she thought that that would satisfy her

and yet at the end of her life when she's having her second son what does

she say son of my sorrow son of my sorrow this kind of goes along with what

what Moses was talking about in in Psalm chapter 90 we read it at funerals often

Psalms 90 · chapter mention

we quote it to ourselves if we have any desire for wisdom it says this and and

Psalm chapter 90 in verse 9 it says for all our days have passed away in your

Psalms 90 · chapter mention

wrath speaking of God we finish our years like a sigh the days of our lives

are 70 years and if by reason of strength they are 80 years yet their

boast is only labor and sorrow for it is soon cut off and we fly away who knows

the power of your anger for as the fear of you so is your wrath so teach us to

number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom is that your heart because the

fact is is this life is full of sorrow and it notice the psalmist says it

doesn't matter how long you live you think you can grow out of sorrow sorry

haven't you noticed as your hair starts getting gray the more and more funerals

that you go to you know and people complain about it well only time we get

to see each other is in funerals well at least we get to see each other and I

tell people you just you know you just the older you get it kind of spins up

you go to more funerals more funerals and preaching there you are you're at

your own but at this point who's Rachel thinking about herself she really is

thinking this is son of my sorrow well think about the poor kid he's got to

live with this name are you there sorrow how you doing there you little budger

right so praise God Jacob in his in his is his wisdom he so no no no no no no

no we're not gonna go there he's not gonna be son of sorrow he's gonna be son

of my right hand right some of the Benjamins that I know that when they

what they know what this name means I got a little spring in their step they

got a little puff in their chest yeah son of the right hand right much

different what's your name Ben who awning son of sorrow so and and

throughout scripture we see that the right hand is is that sign of strength

this idea is expressed in an Exodus chapter 15 6 it says your right hand Oh

Lord has become glorious in power your right hand Oh Lord has dashed the

enemies in pieces the Lord is our strength in honor and and that's that's

maybe the mindset that the Israel has here as he names Benjamin Psalm 16 8

says I have set the Lord always before me because he is at my right hand I shall

not be moved sometimes it's in the death of a loved one right that causes us to

put the Lord always before me a lot of times it's we we kind of are coasting

through life things are going good and then somebody dies maybe unexpectedly

not even unexpectedly a lot of times a parent passes away isn't it amazing how

you just have this sense even siblings you know I've lost a sibling and a parent

and it's like a chapter of your life closes it's different life's different

without that person in your life and and Israel is is experiencing this right he

he loses we had Deborah the handmaid of Rebecca dying and and earlier in this

chapter and now Rachel's passing away and and so the pages in Israel's life

are turning but what does that cause you to do it's that cause you to draw near

to the Lord it causes me to draw near Lord because I want to see them again

right like I it was it was about a year ago and I was kind of just contemplating

all the people who have gone on you know when you when you stop and you start

looking back thinking wow how many people I look at my prayer list and how

many people I've crossed off you mean you don't pray for your loved ones after

they're gone no they're with Jesus they don't need my prayers right or like the

first grader said prayer don't work when you're dead but I'm thinking holy cow

look at all these people they're gone they're not here anymore and and but I

I can't wait to see them and we're gonna see that here in a minute talk about

being gathered to your people kind of looking forward to being gathered to my

people because I'm starting to forget names here but when I when I get there I

won't forget I'll know I'll know I got a fact I almost know as many people there

as I do here now and at this stage in my life and and so he gives him this name

and no doubt it it it changes this this guy's life Benjamin eventually he is the

only warriors that we hear talked about in the Bible that are ambidextrous

they're they could shoot a bow and chuck a stone with a sling either left or

right-handed with the same amount of accuracy can you do that have you tried

writing your name with your opposite hand that's pretty it's almost

unlegible and among what other things trying to do with your opposite hand is

is crazy but but God blesses Benjamin and in Israel sees the importance of

this name the son of my right hand and and so they they bury Rachel their

effort that if wrath it means fruitful and Bethlehem means bread so this was

just the name before we see throughout history the names of places get changed

right and so here this was a fruitful house of bread now it's interesting that

it probably would have Bethlehem would have only been known for the the death

of Rachel it would have only been known for death except for that's where the

Prince of Life was born right so when you and I hear Bethlehem today what do

you think of the coming of Jesus right the first advent of Christ Jesus pretty

interesting stuff and yet Jesus comes think about it with me the Bible speaks

so loud sometimes in the most seemingly insignificant places so here's Rachel

they bury her there at Bethlehem and it's known for her death and her grave

spot and yet here comes Jesus the Savior of the world and what does he come to do

he comes to conquer death and the grave he comes to conquer it and bring

attention to not death but to life and so they load up they move a little

further to the south and then out of the blue it tells us about some hanky-panky

going on with his oldest boy and one of his concubines that's what I love about

the Bible it doesn't cover anything up it just tells it like it is now we don't

know what went on here was it because Bill ha it was Rachel's handmade so we

don't really know what it was he trying to comfort her was she really upset that

Rachel had died and obviously maybe Jacob hadn't been with her and sometimes

maybe she wanted her relationship with Jacob to be more now that Rachel is gone

who knows in the human heart when you add the the human factor and the the

desperately wicked heart and no no telling what's going on here but it seems

that it was consensual it wasn't like he raped her or anything but it was very

condemnable it was a vile thing for him to do where it says there and in verse

22 it says and it happened when Israel dwelt in the land that Reuben went and

lay with Bilhah his father's concubine and Israel heard about it and so this

boy who was the firstborn right so he would have had all the benefits that

Israel had as he swiped him from Esau that Reuben would have had all these all

these benefits of being the firstborn and yet he defiles his father's bed and

this was condemnable you know it was it wasn't normal he probably even in that

culture and and and definitely when Moses comes and he receives the law this

would be considered adultery which would been condemnable by death anybody here

have received the death sentence in your life my hands up I was an adulterer God

should have killed me but but he doesn't he knows about it that's all it says and

and maybe I don't know maybe Reuben really thought that he was you know

Israel was getting close to the grave and he's like this is my opportunity to

act and to usurp the authority of the family we don't know we don't know why

it happened whatever the case this axe was was extremely extremely vile and so

first it was punishable by by death secondly by doing what he did you you

surfing the position of the head of the family it's it's the same heart as the

prodigal that we see in Luke chapter 15 you remember the prodigal that comes to

Luke 15 · chapter mention

his father's say hey dad give me what I got coming what they would never get

unless their father had died right they wouldn't get the inheritance out till

after the father is gone so what are you saying basically is dad I wish you were

dead give me what I got coming to me and that's kind of that the attitude that is

it is here thirdly it costs Reuben his firstborn status and first Chronicles

1 Chronicles 5:1–2

chapter 5 verses 1 through 2 it says now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of

Israel he was indeed the firstborn but because he defiled his father's bed his

birthright was given to the sons of Joseph and the son this the son of

Israel so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright yet

Judah prevailed over his brothers and from him came a ruler all old although

the birthright was Joseph's right there's another place in the Psalm where

it actually should have been Ephraim and every time a firstborn would get into a

lifestyle of sin it cost them spiritually right it cost them so it is

with us folks we get into sin spiritually in other words we're not

right with God on that spiritual plane where we're we're having koinonia and an

intimacy with the God who created us you can get in trouble really fast and you

can forfeit a lot of stuff in your life and as I look back even at my own life

and and some of the things I've forfeited and some of the things my

parents forfeited simply because of sin right my dad lost a lot of authority

with us kids when he committed adultery on my mother right how dare him say

anything to us about sin my mother because she saw her hellion sons mainly

Rick and Scotty Brown living like monsters would try to check us on our

sin and we'd throw it right back in her face because of her sinful lifestyle she

had no authority with us we're getting you're gonna talk to us and then we

tried talking to her about your sin and she's looking at me like you little

wicked suckers you're gonna talk to me about my sin what about yours you see

how that that works it just you you actually disqualify yourself from

speaking anything into anybody because of how sinful we've all been and maybe

Jacob it said he knew about it but he didn't say anything about it maybe

because he knew in his own life he says there's just things in my own life that

weren't right how can I and that's not right either when God calls you and he

redeems you and he washes you clean you should be able to speak truth to people

even if it's convicting sharing the truth and love the Bible tells us right

when Jacob is is giving his blessing there in Genesis chapter 49 he talks

about Reuben he says you are my firstborn my might in the beginning of

my strength the excellency of dignity and the excellency of power unstable as

water you shall not excel because you went up to your father's bed you defiled

it you went up to my couch he disqualified himself what's been

disqualified from now God can come along and restore stuff but I think that it

should cause us to walk in humility knowing where we've all fallen short of

God's glory and that's why the Bible says that we should speak the truth and

love why because we've been there you've blown it you've sinned I've sinned and

so when we speak truth to each other don't do it with the hoity-toity holier

than thou attitude because the fact is is we've all we've all been there we've

all blown it we've all had the three fingers pointing back at us when we

point the finger at somebody verse 23 he transitions here in verse 23 and says

now the sons of Jacob were 12 the sons of Leah were Reuben Jacob's firstborn and

Simeon Levi Judah is a car Zebulun the sons of Rachel or Joseph and Benjamin

the sons of Bilhah Rachel's maidservant were Dan and Naphtali that would have

been weird right your older brother was messing with your mom I don't know that

it gets it gets pretty really funky and the sons of Zilpah was Leah's maidservant

were Gad and Asher these were the sons of Jacob who were born to him at

Paderon and so just listen that's their their it's not their birth order it's a

birth order from their mothers but not their literal birth order and so then he

it goes on and I think this was the point of their trip in verse 27 then

Jacob came to his father Isaac at Mamre of Kerjath Arba which is Hebron where

Abraham and Isaac had dwelt now the days of Isaac were 180 years so Isaac

breathed his last and died and was gathered to his people being old and

full of days and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him. Isaac he had a long life he

lived longer than Abraham a hundred and eighty years and so they come together

Esau and and Israel and they they have a funeral service for their dad there at

Hebron and we know that this is the main burying place for the patriarchs. Leah is

gonna be buried here Jacob will be brought back there and and Isaac

breathes his last maybe this was his last-ditch effort to get to his dad and

maybe have all the kids maybe all these boys know who their grandpa was. I don't

know if you have a as a grandfather if you have a relationship with your

grandkids or not but that's a pretty sweet thing and I don't know what it is

about grandkids why is it that they don't seem to be as big as sinners as

your kids? You know it's just it's just kind of bizarre I think the Lord gives

us as a partial blindness when it comes to our grandkids and um but but being

able to see the old patriarch there before he passed away I'm sure maybe

maybe inspired some of those boys to do what God had called them to do because

it's obvious that obvious that God had a plan for these twelve boys who are

eventually the twelve tribes of Israel who are gonna come back and reign

through the millennial reign of Christ. There's 144,000 you hear about it some

some religious groups think they're the 144,000 right? Well no you have to have

Jewish DNA in your bloodstream to be one of these and it was very specific what

tribes they're from and so God's gonna do this and they're gonna be preaching

machines they're gonna be Jews who are sharing the gospel and these guys are

the people that God uses to bring them into the world. Maybe you've forfeited

some of your life but maybe you got generations under you maybe kids

grandkids that you can speak truth into and be an influence that way be an

influence for the future to the future generations that love you and are not

mad at you you about in all the places that you've sinned in your life. I look

at my grandkids and I know their their view of me is much different than what's

true. My kids have a little closer feel for what I really am but when they don't

see all of that failure a lot of times they're a lot quicker to hear and so

they end up at Hebron they do the funeral and then we jump into chapter 36

where God is completing and fulfilling his his his plan and promise to this

dude named Esau. God has a plan for Esau you say yeah but he don't love God in

fact God hates him God hates him in the spiritual realm yes but God keeps his

promise that he's gonna be a nation you remember when Rebecca came to the Lord

and said what if everything's so good then what abouts going on in here and

the Lord told him he says inside of you are two nations and they're wrestling

they're fighting and it was Israel and Edom it was Jacob and Esau were

fighting in the womb and God's gonna make sure what he told Rebecca was true

Esau is gonna become a nation and we see when when Jacob meets Esau what does he

say he gives him goods he says I got enough man in other words God's blessed

me he's he's I've got enough in my life and it says there in chapter 36 verse

one now this is the genealogy of Esau who is Edom Esau took his wives from the

daughters of Canaan Adah the daughter of Elan the Hiltite and a whole Obama

sounds like it vice president the daughter of Anna the daughter of Zibeon

the Hivite notice though these are Canaanite people these are people they

shouldn't have married and Basamoth the Ishmael's daughter remember he was

trying to get close to his Lord to his father when he when he married Ishmael's

daughter sister of Mehroj Nebeljoth and Adah bore Eliphaz and to Esau and

Basamoth bore Reul and a whole Obama bore Jehosh and Jalam and Korah and these

were the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan so Esau has

sons he has three wives he has five boys and and as you go down through there you

see God's blessing is all over this guy God blesses Esau right and and and this

this this 36 I'm not gonna go through the whole chapter but we're gonna try to

condense it here and and before we say amen but but notice is it contains a

whole bunch of names and it's truly the story of Esau Esau and we don't see him

much after this today it's that it's the place called Jordan is where the Edomites

dwelt and most believe that they inhabited actually the rock city Petra

and some think that that's where the Jews are actually gonna be hidden during

the tribulation period but but that's where they were and they they were an

enemy they fought with Israel not only that but as you read down through there

you'll see that's where the Amalekites came through from the Amalekites was was

though those group when they were coming through the wilderness going to the

promised land they attacked him from behind and slaughtered the women and

children these were descendants of Esau proving their hatred for God now I I

really think you know so we see here let me get to this real quick Esau so he

became a nation which is Edom he had five sons had multiple grandsons there

are 11 Chiefs that we see in this chapter there are eight kings that come

from Esau you think of that scripture that God reigns on the just in the

unjust God was gonna keep his promise he's gonna bless this guy remember he

and Jacob ended up giving him more more lifestyle Esau was would have been a

likable guy he would have fit well in Idaho Esau would have he would have been

a guy that that we liked man he probably had a pickup and a horse trailer a lot

of livestock cute Copenhagen tifties hat to women I don't know so when it says

that God hated Esau it doesn't mean that God hated every part of his life because

God blessed his life God displayed grace towards Esau is that you have you been

blessed God's blessed your life I know there are a lot of people and I would

call them good old boys they are on a highway to hell right but their life's

been blessed it's like God's saying I know you're not gonna ever turn your

heart to me and you're never gonna become mine and so I'm gonna let you

have as good as it gets and that's this life get what you can get buy what all

you can buy right pour around all you want whatever it is that makes you happy

go for it because that's all you get now I don't about you but I'm with the the

writer of Proverbs that says I would rather have a crust of bread with peace

than a fatted calf with strife right speaking of the torments that are gonna

come after this life when everyone stands before God God blessed this man

abundantly Esau was just not going to have anything to do with God period

nothing I know there's probably some men sitting in this room the only reason you

come and plop your hind end down in one of these chairs is because your wife

drags you right you just been hand packed out okay well anyway I'm gonna

shut her up is go to church right can I just tell you that's not the right

attitude right but to love though your Lord your God when they come to Jesus

and they ask him that infamous question what is the greatest commandment love

the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul with all your mind

and with all your strength and can I say and then just sit back and watch what

happens talk about yee-haw right you better screw your hat down tight because

it is a ride and that's what God hates is somebody who is not willing to love

him he wants to come wants us to come and taste and see that is good that he

is good he and he really is if you haven't made that decision please make

it I wonder if Jesus had Esau in mind when he spoke these words in Matthew

Matthew 5:44

chapter 5 verse 44 it says but I say to you love your enemies bless those who

curse you do good to those who hate you remember Jacob gave him all that

livestock what was he saw doing to him 20 years earlier he was cursing him he

was hating him he was he was killing him in his heart do good to those who hate

you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you one of Jacob's

praying for Esau and sends rain on the unjust the just and the unjust for if

you love those who love you what reward have you do not even the tax collectors

do the same see God has called us to be so different from the world the contrast

between Israel and Esau is is striking what's the contrast between your life

and and the worldly people in your life is there contrast I got buddies listen I

was III was just you know I was on that highway you know in my early 20s and and

I remember the guys I hung with you know and and how vile we were the things we

did and and I look at some of them now and they're they're you know 59 60 61

years old and I'm thinking you ain't changed a bit because the the difference

is is when you're born again it's like the Lord gives you a new life but when

you're still in that old life that's all you know see I know both lights I knew

what it was like to be whiskey drunk and just in trouble and and doing hideous

deeds right I remember what that was like but now God has called me and

removed me from that and I'm going wow that was and I spent a long time now but

I haven't forgot I'm a got forgot what I've been delivered from but the

contrast in these two boys between Israel and Esau it's spiritual because on the

outside yeah you may not tell a whole lot of difference but on the inside and

the fact that Israel loves God and he honors God and he gives praise to God

and he worships God that's the difference you know when I was at the

school you know we were always trying to compete right with the public schools or

that especially when the when the Charter School started coming in right

and you know everyone's always saying we got we got to be different how can we be

different when we got a bunch of these little stinking sinners in this building

right how can we be any different right and then us all our staff members we're

sinners too the only difference is Jesus that is the only difference that's that

was it the only difference was we had lives that had been touched by Jesus and

then we tried to share that with the kids some of them get it some of them

don't right I see some kids in this room but I knew when they as little bitty

guys and that makes me feel old but they get it they're here today good you know

it just kind of does my because so often I felt like I was spinning my wheels

what are we doing we are wasting our times it goes one ear and out the other

these kids are you know just a bunch of little rebels right just flesh balls

listen one person plants right the seed is the Word of God one person plants one

person waters but God gives the increase and you have to by faith let those chips

fall where they may whether it's in a church service like this or you home

talking to your kids and your grandkids put the seeds and the truths of God's

Word in their heart let the chips fall where they may they may love God they

may not love God but far be it from you to be guilty of not telling them about

God

Esau refused to see how great God was right I pray that you don't refuse to

see that because the fact that you're here today proof should prove to you

that God is good he's got an incredible plan for your life

amen let's pray Lord thank you for your word thank you for your people

Lord we pray for the people of Israel right now Lord they're under attack

they're claimed to be evil when they're not we're truly living in those days

Lord when people are calling evil good and good evil you're the only good one

and so I pray that you would put your goodness in our hearts Lord as we yield

to you Lord and I know there may be some here today Lord that haven't done that

yet Lord may you move upon their hearts Lord for them to get up out of their

seat and come and be prayed for up here with the prayer team as they come

forward Lord we need you in these days they're they're crazy wild days Lord

where the it's truly as nation is rising against nation and Kingdom against

Kingdom and mainly the kingdom of darkness against the kingdom of light

and you've called us into this marvelous light Lord that is your kingdom so Lord

help us to see ourselves for what we are help us to turn to you with all that we

are Lord and for the generations coming behind us Lord give us a voice and that

we would speak your truth to them and in your mighty and powerful love Lord that

you would truly bring us all to a place of being world changers until you come

Lord we know that we're staying the hand of wickedness Lord the one who restrains
