“4 Cups, Jesus, and a Wedding Feast” - Pastor Steve Tuck

Pastor Scotty has taken some time off and asked me if I would teach today.

And just to let you in on a little secret for, I taught this same study a year and a half ago on a Wednesday night.

And I've been carrying it in my truck, in the back seat of my truck for a year and a half now.

I always carry, listen I work with Scotty, I always carry an emergency sermon in the back of my truck with me.

And so today I'm going to teach this. It's on the four cups of the Passover.

And it's going to connect the four cups of the Passover with the wedding feast,

the marriage supper of the Lamb that we see in Revelation.

And on our way there we're going to stop in the Gospel of Luke.

And we're going to be starting in Exodus chapter 6.

If you want to make your way to Exodus chapter 6, that's where the four cups of the Passover begin.

But I better pray before we get started.

Father God, Lord, thank you so much for this day and thank you for those in attendance.

We pray, Father God, that you would be with us today as we read your word, Lord.

Your word is truth. We do love you. We praise your holy name.

That's why we gather together like this, to worship you, Father God, because we love you.

And we do ask, Father God, that through the power of your Holy Spirit,

you would convict the hearts of those that are here today that have not yet surrendered to you, Lord,

that today would be the day of salvation for them. Amen.

So as we head into Exodus chapter 6, I'm going to give you a little history heading up to that.

Exodus 6 · chapter mention

Around 1880 to 1900 BC, the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, around 70 people,

ended up in Egypt because there was a severe famine in the land.

To escape the famine, they go to Egypt where, by God's providence, they reunite with their brother Joseph,

who, by the way, is the second most powerful man in Egypt at that time under Pharaoh,

because he was Pharaoh's right-hand man.

But Pharaoh dies, and a new king arises over Egypt, and he doesn't know Joseph.

So the new Pharaoh comes into power, feels threatened by the Israelites.

Pharaoh is afraid of them because they might join up with his enemies and fight against him.

You see, the Israelites were blessed by God.

They were very fruitful, increased abundantly, grew exceedingly mighty,

and the land was filled with them.

So the Egyptians, being afraid of them, made the children of Israel slaves.

They were enslaved into hard labor and held captive for over 400 years.

And by the way, that was foretold in Genesis 15, 13, when God told Abram,

"Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs

and will serve them, and they will afflict them for 400 years."

That was fulfilled.

Over the years, that original group of 70 Israelites grew in number to several million people.

Some estimate there was 3 million people.

And the Israelites cried out to God, and God heard their groaning,

remembered his promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,

and raised up a deliverer, Moses, to set the people free

so that they can serve God, so they can worship God.

So Moses confronts Pharaoh and says, "Thus says the Lord God of Israel,

'Let my people go.'"

But Pharaoh would not listen.

Listen to how Pharaoh replies in Exodus 5.

Pharaoh says, "Who is the Lord that I should obey his voice to let Israel go?

I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go."

Exodus chapter 6. I'm going to start in--I'm going to go back to chapter 5, verse 22.

Exodus 6 · chapter mention

"So Moses returned to the Lord and said, 'Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people?

Why is it you have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name,

he has done evil to this people, neither have you delivered them at all.

Ever since I came to speak to Pharaoh in your name, he has done evil.

Besides, you haven't even delivered them.'"

So Exodus chapter 6, and this is where it all begins, verse 1.

"Now the Lord said to Moses, 'Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh.

For with a strong hand, he will let them go, and with a strong hand, he will drive them out of his land.'

And God spoke to Moses and said to him, 'I am the Lord.

I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty.

But by my name, Lord, or Yahweh, I was not known to them.

I have also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan,

the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers.

And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, I haven't forgot about them,

whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant.'"

Now, in verse 6 through 8, I want you to listen.

There are 7 statements, 7 "I will" statements.

And also, if you will notice, in verse 2 he starts out, "I am the Lord,"

and in verse 8 at the end he says, "I am the Lord."

He begins and ends, "I am the Lord, I am Yahweh."

But in verse 6 through verse 8, you're going to hear 7 "I am" statements.

And also in here, this is where we get the 4 cups of the Passover,

and I will explain that right after I read it.

"Therefore say to the children of Israel, 'I am the Lord.

I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm

and with great judgments. I will take you as my people, and I will be your God.

Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God,

who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,

and I will give it to you as a heritage. I am the Lord.'"

This is where we get the 4 cups of the Passover by 4 promises that he made in there.

The 4 cups of the Seder are taken in remembrance,

or the 4 cups of the Passover are taken in remembrance of the promises made by God

to His chosen people that we just read in Exodus 6, 6 and 7.

During the Passover meal, or during the Seder,

they would drink 4 cups to remember the 4 promises of God.

The first cup we see in verse 6, "I will bring you out."

This is the cup of sanctification.

"I will bring you out from under the burdens, or the yoke, of the Egyptians."

When the Israelites were taken out of Egypt, they were set apart from other people.

The second cup, the cup of deliverance, again in verse 6,

"I will rescue you. I will free you from being slaves to the Egyptians."

And the third cup, the cup of redemption, verse 6,

"I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment."

Redemption, for us, to be redeemed is to be freed or delivered from sin.

And the fourth cup, in verse 7, "I will take you as my own people and I will be your God."

Remember in verse 1, God said, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh."

So God releases the first 9 plagues out of 10 to wear Pharaoh down.

But Pharaoh still refuses.

So let's look at the 10th and final plague, the death of the firstborn.

Turn to Exodus chapter 12.

This is right after the 9th plague.

And oh, by the way, the 9th plague was darkness.

And he explains it in Exodus chapter 10, verse 21.

Exodus 10:21

It's a darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness which may even be felt.

Can you imagine in your imagination a darkness so dark that you can feel it?

Exodus chapter 12.

Exodus 12 · chapter mention

The Passover is instituted.

"Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 'This month shall be your beginning of months.

It shall be the first month of the year to you.

Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, 'On the tenth of this month'" remember that date,

"'every man shall take for himself a lamb according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.

And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house

take it according to the number of the persons according to each man's need.

You shall make your count for the lamb.'"

Verse 5, "Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year," remember that.

"You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.

Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the month."

Remember that.

"The whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight.

And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses

where they eat it."

Verse 8, "Then they shall eat the flesh on that night, roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs.

They shall eat it."

Go down to verse 11.

"And thus you shall eat it, with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand.

So you shall eat it in haste.

It is the Lord's Passover."

And oh, by the way, if he's telling you to eat with your belt on your waist and your sandals on your feet

and your walking staff in your hand, you better be ready to go.

It is the Lord's Passover.

Verse 12, "For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and I will strike the firstborn in the land of Egypt,

both man and beast, and against all the gods," small letter G, "of Egypt, I will execute judgment.

I am the Lord.

Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are.

And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you

when I strike the land of Egypt.

So this day shall be to you a memorial, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations.

You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance."

Go down to verse 21.

"Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, 'Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families,

and kill the Passover lamb.

And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin,

and strike the lentil in the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin.

And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.

For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on the lentil and on the two doorposts,

the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.'"

Go down to verse 29.

It's go time.

"The tenth plague, the death of the firstborn, and it came to pass at midnight

that the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,

from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive

who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.

So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians.

And there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one that was dead.

Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night and said, 'Rise, go out from among my people,

both you and the children of Israel, and go serve the Lord as you have said.

Also take your flocks and your herds as you have said, and be gone, and bless me also.'"

After all that he asks for a blessing.

That just strikes me as pretty funny.

Actually he did it two other times.

Pharaoh did it in chapter 8, verse 28, and in chapter 10, verse 16.

I want you to notice something here.

Remember in chapter 6, verse 1, the Lord said, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh.

Pharaoh will let them go.

Pharaoh will drive them out of his land, promise fulfilled."

Then one more in chapter 13, verse 3.

"And Moses said to the people, 'Remember this day, which you went out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage,

for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out of this place.'"

Notice again, remember Exodus chapter 6, verse 6.

Exodus 6:6

"I am the Lord, I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, promise fulfilled."

Okay, now let's fast forward 1400 years.

Go to Luke chapter 22.

Luke 22 · chapter mention

Luke 22.

Before we get started in Luke, I just want to do some Old Testament, New Testament comparisons that we just read.

In the Old Testament, you remember those dates I told you to remember?

In the Old Testament, the Lamb was selected on the 10th of Nisan.

Jesus was selected or presented on the 10th of Nisan when he rode into Jerusalem.

And the people cried out, "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord."

That was on Palm Sunday. Remember?

How many of you were here for Palm Sunday?

Where were the rest of you at? What were you doing?

Oh, Costa Rica. Oh, that's right.

In the Old Testament, the Lamb was to be in the prime of life, one year old.

Jesus died in the prime of his life.

In the Old Testament, the Lamb was to be without defect.

Jesus was without defect, free of sin.

In the Old Testament, the Lamb was to be sacrificed on the 14th of Nisan at twilight, between 3 and 6 p.m.

And Jesus was crucified on the 14th of Nisan and died at 3 p.m. Roman time.

In the Old Testament, the bread was to be unleavened.

Leaven is a sign, is a picture of sin.

Jesus, the bread of life, was without sin.

In the Old Testament, the Lamb was to have no broken bones.

And Jesus was crucified and not a bone was broken.

Passover past, through Moses, commemorates the deliverance of the Jews from slavery.

Passover present, through Jesus, commemorates our deliverance from the slavery of sin to all who believe.

Luke chapter 22, verse 14, Luke 22, 14.

Luke 22:14

When the hour had come, Bible students, what hour is that?

Sundown, it would be sundown.

Passover begins at sundown.

But if you answered the cross, you would also be correct, because his hour has come, he's going to the cross.

When the hour had come, he sat down and the twelve apostles with him.

Then he said to them, in verse 15,

"With fervent desire, I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer."

Notice the way that reads.

The hour had come, it's sundown, marking the beginning of Passover.

And with fervent desire, he's eager, he can't wait for this Passover.

There's something different about this Passover.

Jesus wanted to prepare them for what was coming,

and he was also eager as it was his hour, it was his hour to go to the cross.

Remember Luke 9, verse 51, when he steadfastly set his face like a flint towards Jerusalem?

Luke 9:51

And Hebrews 12, verse 2, reminds us that for the joy that was set before him,

Hebrews 12:2

he endured the cross, despising the shame as it has set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For the joy that was set before him.

Matthew and Mark record that Jesus and his disciples sang hymns

when they left the upper room, heading to the Mount of Olives.

Jesus would be heading to the cross later that day,

singing hymns for the joy that was set before him.

But this Passover, he didn't say "the Passover,"

he's been going to the Passover his whole life.

Luke 2, verse 41 says that Joseph and Mary, every year, would go to the Passover

Luke 2:41

and they would take Jesus with them.

And I think that was the time when he was 12 years old and he stayed behind in Jerusalem

because he had to be about his father's business, remember that?

But this Passover, see, he doesn't say "I couldn't wait to eat the Passover,"

he says "this Passover, there's something different about this Passover, there's something new."

Oh, for the joy that was set before him.

Verse 16, "I will no longer eat of it, for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it

until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God."

Verse 17, "And he took the cup," this would be the first cup, the cup of Thanksgiving,

you remember Exodus chapter 6, those four cups?

Exodus 6 · chapter mention

This would be the first cup of the Passover, the cup of Thanksgiving.

It's not recorded, but during the meal they would take the second cup.

"Then he took the cup, gave thanks," verse 17, "take this and divide it among yourselves,

for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."

That was verse 18.

"I will not drink of the fruit until the kingdom comes."

Verse 19, "Then he took the bread, gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,

'This is my body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.'"

And that glorious third cup, verse 20, "Likewise he also took the cup after supper."

How do we know it's the third cup?

Because it was after supper, it was during supper that they would drink the first two cups.

"Likewise he also took the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood,

which is shed for you.'"

The new covenant.

After supper, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you."

This is new, this is different.

Matthew 26, 28 records the same thing.

"This is my blood of the new covenant."

Mark 14, 24, "This is my blood of the new covenant."

This is new, this is different, this is better.

Jesus is better, it's all about Jesus.

Just doing a survey of Hebrews, Jesus is a better name, Jesus is better than Moses,

he's a better rest, through a better covenant, in a better sanctuary, and by a better sacrifice.

Luke 24, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer

and to rise from the dead on the third day, in my blood which is shed for you."

This is a monumental transition.

This is a moment in time.

This is the last supper.

This ends Passover.

This is the final Passover.

Here we have the final Passover, and here we have the first communion.

This brings an end to the entire Old Covenant.

This is the end of the whole ceremonial law.

It's a moment in time.

Christ came to fill the law, fulfill the law, remember?

Starting at this moment in time, there's no more sacrifices, no more altars,

the priesthood finished.

When Jesus, Jesus is our high priest.

Amen.

When Jesus died on the cross, the veil in front of the holiest of all was torn in two,

and now we can boldly come to the throne of grace.

Amen.

It's all about Jesus.

For 1,400 years, the Jews celebrated Passover.

The third cup represented Exodus chapter 6, verse 6.

Exodus 6:6

"I will redeem you with an outstretched arm."

But this Passover, this night, just hours away from the cross,

Jesus transformed the third cup into a cup of remembrance, Matthew 26, 28.

He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to his disciples, saying,

"Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the new covenant."

Jesus transformed the third cup into what we call communion today.

Do this in remembrance of me.

God likes to use symbolism to help us comprehend the things of the Spirit.

In communion, the bread and the cup reveal a sacred mystery.

Brought into the light, the life, and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ,

our Passover lamb, our Redeemer, our Savior.

As we take communion together, we are celebrating our common salvation we have in Christ

through his sacrifice on the cross, his cross.

Do this in remembrance of me.

That night, just hours away from the cross,

Jesus took the first two cups in the traditional way.

The cup of sanctification, cup number one.

The cup of deliverance, cup number two.

Deliverance from judgment, from plagues.

But this is new, cup number three.

The cup of redemption, the cup of blessing.

This is the cup that we drink during communion.

Listen to Paul in 1 Corinthians 10, 16.

"The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ?

The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?"

But what about that fourth cup?

The cup of restoration, the cup of praise.

Remember Exodus 6, 7.

"I will take you, I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God."

For the future, salvation that is guaranteed by Christ's blood

and will be fully consummated at his return.

Matthew 26, 29. This is Jesus.

"But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on

until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."

In the future.

When a man desired to marry a woman in ancient Israel,

he would prepare a contract.

The most important part of the contract was the price for the bride.

The price the man was willing to pay for the bride.

To marry the woman.

If the price for the bride was agreeable to the woman's father,

the man would pour a cup of wine for the woman,

hand the cup of wine to the woman,

and if the woman took the cup and drank from the cup,

it would indicate her acceptance of the proposal.

And church family, do you know, I'm sure you do,

that we are the bride of Christ?

The church is the bride of Christ?

Let's talk about the church and the bride of Christ.

I'm going to read out of Ephesians chapter 5, verse 25 through 32.

Ephesians 5:25–32

Husbands, you need to memorize verse 25.

Yes, you do. I did.

Husbands, and as I read this, I want you to notice that church is mentioned four times.

Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her,

that he might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, the Bible,

that he might present her to himself a glorious church,

not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing,

but that she should be holy and without blemish.

So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies.

He who loves his wife loves himself, for no one ever hated his own flesh,

but nourishes it and cherishes it just as the Lord does the church.

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,

and the two shall become one flesh.

This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

We are the body of Christ. We are the bride of Christ.

I'm going to go to Revelation now.

I'm still talking about the fourth cup, okay?

The marriage supper of the Lamb, Revelation chapter 19, verses 7 to 9.

Revelation 19:7–9

"Let us be glad and rejoice and give him glory,

for the marriage of the Lamb has come and his wife has made herself ready.

And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright,

for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Let us be glad and rejoice and give him glory,

for the marriage of the Lamb," that's Christ, "has come,

and his wife," the church, "has made herself ready.

There is coming in the future a great feast,

the marriage supper of Jesus Christ, our Passover Lamb,

and his bride, the church."

And may I say, you are a nice-looking bride. Yes, you are.

So what about that fourth cup?

Jesus did not drink from the fourth cup or offer it to his disciples.

It is that cup, the cup of restoration, that he said he would not drink from until his return.

It is then that all believers will be fully restored.

It is then that the fourth promise will be fulfilled.

It is then that the trumpet will sound and God will tell his Son,

'Go get your bride.'

It is then that we will be fully and completely his people

and enter into the promised land forever."

Amen?

It's coming.

Could it be, listen to this, could it be that this fourth cup fulfills his promise

that he will return to us?

John chapter 14, verse 3, this is Jesus,

John 14:3

"And if I go and prepare a place for you," here's an "I will" statement,

"I will come again and receive you to myself,

that where I am you will be also."

If that sounds familiar, listen to way back in Exodus chapter 6, verse 7, that fourth cup.

Exodus 6:7

"I will take you as my own people." Remember? God said that.

"I will take you as my own people."

John 14, "I will come again and receive you to myself.

I will take you as my own people."

I hesitate whether to share this paragraph.

This is just my imagination, this part here.

But could it be that as we enter into his kingdom, he hands us that fourth cup?

And as we receive the cup, remember the ancient wedding?

As we receive the fourth cup, he says to us,

"Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.

Look forward to that day."

Today would be a good day for that.

Can you see how the four cups of the Passover are connected to the marriage supper of the Lamb

that we read about in Revelation?

Can you see how Jesus transformed the third cup of Passover into something better, much better?

And can you see the price that Christ was willing to pay for his bride?

Can you see the price that Christ was willing to pay for you?

Can you see the gospel message in this story?

Cup one, sanctification in Christ.

To be sanctified is to be set apart, set apart for God's purposes.

We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all, Hebrews 10.

Just like the Israelites were set apart to serve God, to worship God,

we are set apart to serve God, to worship God.

Cup number two, deliverance in Christ.

It is an act of God.

We are rescued from bondage. Deliverance.

In Christ we are delivered from slavery to sin.

Sin is slavery.

It's evil.

Remember Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6.13, "Deliver us from the evil one."

It's deliverance.

So what has a hold of you? What secret sin are you hiding?

Maybe it's works-based religion. We have a lot of that in this community.

You can't work your way into heaven. It's a free gift.

Has Christ delivered you?

Cup number three, redemption. Talking about the gospel message.

Cup number three, redemption.

The cup of redemption in Christ.

Listen to, turn to Ephesians again. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 7.

Ephesians 1:7

Cup number three, redemption.

In Him we have redemption.

Through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

It is a free gift, which He made toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure,

which He purposed in Himself.

That in the dispensation of the fullness of the times, the future,

He might gather together in one all things in Christ.

I will come again and receive you to myself. John 14.

All things in Christ, both which are in heaven, that where I am you may be also. John 14.

And which are on the earth in Him. In Christ. Verse 13.

In Him you also trusted after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.

The gospel message.

In whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession,

the price that Christ was willing to pay for His bride, the purchased redemption,

or possession, to the praise of His glory.

And that cup number four, restoration in Christ.

Acts chapter 3, Peter's sermon on repentance.

Acts 3 · chapter mention

Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out,

so that the times of refreshing in the present, you can have this today,

the times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

and that He, God, may send Jesus, go get your bride, Jesus Christ,

who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive

until the times of restoration in the future of all things,

which God has spoken by the mouth of His holy prophets since the world began.

I'll finish in Revelation chapter 21, verse 2.

Revelation 21:2

"Then I, John, saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,

and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people.

God Himself will be with them and be their God.'"

In church family, here's the blessed hope.

"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

There shall be no more death, no more sorrow, nor crying.

There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

Hallelujah.

"Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.'"

These words are true and faithful. Amen?

We're going to end with communion.

You all have your communion elements, I hope.

And who takes communion? Those who have made a profession of faith in Christ.

This is for the believers.

If you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, if you've been born again,

this communion is for us.

But before, I want you to hold the bread before the Lord.

But before we take this, we don't want to come to the Lord's table in an unworthy manner.

Before we take this, I would ask that you close your eyes and bow your heads

and examine yourself for just a few moments.

What you want to do is, in the stillness of your heart and the stillness of your mind,

pray to God, confess your sins to Him before we take communion.

If you have any unconfessed sin, you want to make sure and get right with God

before you eat at the Lord's table.

So let's just take a moment.

Let's hold the bread before the Lord.

At the Last Supper, Jesus said, "Take, eat. This is my body which is given for you.

Do this in remembrance of me."

Let's take the bread in remembrance of Jesus.

In the same manner, He also took the cup after supper, saying,

"This cup is the new covenant in my blood.

This do, as often as you drink it in remembrance of me."

Let's take the cup.

I'm going to ask the worship team to come forward.

And during this last song, I'm going to ask the prayer team to come up.

They're going to be up in this corner up here.

If you have never surrendered to Jesus Christ and made Him your Lord and Savior,

today is the day of salvation.

Today is the day you want to come forward.

Come up. Talk to our prayer team.

If you have any prayer needs at all, come up and be prayed for.

If you want to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, talk to them.

Ask them questions and be saved.

Be saved today. Don't wait another day.

God is holy, and we have fallen short of His perfect standard.

Our sin separates us from a holy God.

In Romans 3.23, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son

that whoever should believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.

And call out to God, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Come up and be prayed for.

Give your life to Christ. You'll never regret it. Amen?
