  1. Welcome to His Story, Our Story, a fresh podcast series

  2. of interviews, testimonies, messages and anecdotes where a range of

  3. people from all walks of life share their journey as

  4. they've traveled with Jesus. Here at Southland Church and Pasaden Adelaide,

  5. our heart and mission is to pursue the presence of

  6. God through a Christ centered, Bible based, spirit filled church.

  7. We disciple and equip people to make a positive difference

  8. for the Kingdom of God and impact every area where

  9. God places them. So sit back, grab a cup of

  10. tea or coffee, unless, of course, you're driving where both

  11. hands are needed on the wheel, and enjoy this episode.

  12. We pray that you are blessed and encouraged as you

  13. listen to His Story Our Story.

  14. In Christ, we are the Seed of Abraham. Something I

  15. noticed just hearing around the traps. I think there's a

  16. lot of prophetic voices at the moment across the church

  17. who are talking about the church needing to grow in

  18. its identity. And as I was praying into this and

  19. this week was really good, I had a lot of

  20. time to just be quiet and reflect on that it's

  21. much more guys than what we often hear in Ephesians

  22. two with a list young a child or that that

  23. is all part of it. That is absolutely true. But

  24. a building has much more than the foundations. You actually

  25. then build on that. And I want to explore that identity,

  26. what it means to be the seed of Abraham. And

  27. this is only a very small part of it today,

  28. but what that actually means in our identity and what

  29. I'm going to be trying to say here basically, is

  30. the seed of Abraham, your identity into that, your adoption

  31. into being sons and daughters of the most High God

  32. in Jesus, actually brings blessing. And it is not something

  33. to be ashamed of because there has been a push

  34. because at times, yes, at times there has been extreme absolutely,

  35. but because of that, we've thrown the baby out with

  36. the bath water, so to speak, and we've almost become

  37. ashamed of blessing. And that has to stop. If you

  38. don't understand blessing, you will not understand the power and

  39. authority that God gives you as His sons and daughters,

  40. and your kingdom authority and kingdom impact will be very limited.

  41. So we need to walk in that. So that's where

  42. we're heading today. Our new identity does include God's promises

  43. of blessing. God's promises have always come to the seat

  44. of Abraham. So this is how it was started. From

  45. Genesis seventeen right back. And he this is Abraham believed

  46. in the Lord. Note that it wasn't works. He believed

  47. in the Lord, and he accounted it to him for righteousness.

  48. It was from belief. You cannot get thereby works, Paul

  49. writes in Galatians, So those who rely on faith are

  50. blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. The Galatians

  51. were almost predominantly a gentile church. You can see, as

  52. Paul would say, the church has been grafted in, grafted

  53. in to Abraham. Really important point there, just in Gisha

  54. nowhere we have not replaced Israel. Make that very clear.

  55. That is a heresy that is part of the church.

  56. It is not true. Read Romans. If you don't believe me,

  57. read Romans eleven and substitute church every time Israel is mentioned,

  58. and see if you make any sense, it doesn't make sense.

  59. You're grafted in. As Paul writes, it comes here through

  60. faith in Jesus Christ. It's not works. How do we

  61. get in there? Well, ultimately, no matter how good we are,

  62. no matter how faithful we try and be, we still sin.

  63. That is the reality. We sin. There is only one

  64. way that you can be saved to Corinthians five twenty one.

  65. For he made him who you know sin. This is

  66. Jesus to be sin for us, that we might become

  67. the righteousness of God in him. It is the grace

  68. of God, the grace of God. It's Jesus death on

  69. the cross. He did it for us. We have to

  70. accept that and believe it. That's our bit. But it

  71. is a it's a gift of grace. It's a gift

  72. of grace. And what comes out of this Paul's writing,

  73. He says, for no matter how many promises God has made,

  74. they are yes in Christ. Can you see we're already

  75. the righteousness of God through Christ. We're already accepted. We're

  76. sons and daughters are the most high God. As Paul rites,

  77. So guess what, No matter how many promises God has made,

  78. He's the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. They are yes

  79. in Christ. And so through Him, the Amen has spoken

  80. by us to the glory of God. Note the bottom

  81. one there promises it's not just salvation as wonderful and wonderful,

  82. and that would be enough. To be honest, that would

  83. be enough. Mean, let's face it, we're going to hell

  84. and now we're going to heaven. I'd take that. I

  85. reckon that's a pretty good deal, especially when I know

  86. what I had to pay for it. Nothing, it's a gift.

  87. But that is just This is how good God is,

  88. the goodness of God. Remember Moses and he says, Lord,

  89. show me your glory. And what does God do? The

  90. scripture says, and my goodness passed by him? God is good.

  91. He is good. We need to remember that. So what

  92. are these promises? See, the Father's nature is reflected in

  93. the very blessings and promises we get as his sons

  94. and daughters. Look at his name Creator. Stop believing the

  95. rubbish that you're nothing, that you're just one of Squidet's right,

  96. you are not not goo to you via the zoo.

  97. You are beautifully and wonderfully made. Read Psalm one hundred

  98. and thirty nine. Know your identity, el Roy. He's the

  99. God who sees. So when you feel this is with Hagar,

  100. Remember she gets sent out and she's going to basically

  101. feel says, no hope for her in Ishmael. It's the

  102. god who sees, so he sees you when you're feeling down.

  103. He sees you when you feel like you're lowest. He

  104. sees you. That's how important you are. And if you

  105. don't think he can see you, will He knows the

  106. number of hairs on your head. Yes, for me, it

  107. doesn't take a lot of counting, but it's a miracle

  108. for a lot of people. If he can count the

  109. hairs on your head, he'll know where you're standing, because

  110. you're bigger than the hair in your head. This is

  111. a god who knows, who sees Hagayel. He's a redeemed.

  112. We sing that this morning. He redeems us. He's el Shadai.

  113. He is all sufficient, all sufficient. That means more than enough.

  114. It's Jehovah Nissi, the Lord, my banner. He fights your battles.

  115. So when you think you can't do it, you're right.

  116. You probably can't because he's going to do it for you.

  117. That's the great thing about it. That's your identity. He

  118. can make a way when you think it's impossible. Then

  119. once you know that, you've just got to change your mind,

  120. be transformed and realize Actually it is possible, because all

  121. things are possible in him. It's Jehovah Jirah. He will

  122. provide for you whatever that looks like for you personally,

  123. he will provide more than enough. It more than enough

  124. to be generous. If he's called you to a ministry,

  125. he will provide for that. Please don't think I'm saying

  126. you'll provide it well in advance. It's usually not. Fate's

  127. a bit like a muscle. He likes to exercise it

  128. and put it under a bit of strain. So quite

  129. often he leaves you. It not quite leaves your hanging.

  130. But you don't have to feel like you're hanging, because

  131. you should know he's good. But he does it so

  132. that we grow in faith, and that's our testimony. And

  133. then the next time, and so on we go. Is

  134. Jehovah Rafa is the Lord, my healer. He cares. He

  135. cares about you. It doesn't mean that's instant, but it

  136. means he heals. He cares. Quite often it is instant.

  137. If anybody's you, you're watching on we have weekly, basically now,

  138. stories of people being healed in the most amazing ways.

  139. This is because he is a good, good father, he's

  140. bail perism. The Lord breaks through, and I what I

  141. love about that? I think one Chronicles fourteen, you see

  142. that the Philistines have come down and they've attacked the

  143. Valley of Raham, and David says, you know, should I

  144. go down and fight them? Lord or not? And the

  145. Lord says, you go down, you'll have the victory. David interesting.

  146. He waits on God and then responds in faith. But

  147. at the end of it there's an interesting line there.

  148. He talks about, you know, the Lord, you broke through

  149. the waters. Now the water's there. He's not talking about

  150. your stepped on a puddle and it went splish. He's

  151. not meaning that. David's come from a history that knows

  152. the parting of the Red Sea. He knows the history

  153. of water coming out of solid rock. That is the

  154. type of God of the breakthrough. That is your heavenly

  155. Father and my heavenly Father. This is our identity. When

  156. you start to know that He's equipping you then for

  157. ministry that can go out and change cities and nations.

  158. That's how it's done. It's in his name and power.

  159. And then it's Jehovah Shalom, the peace that passes all

  160. understanding in amongst all that you can rest. You can rest,

  161. and by rest, I don't just mean slumber. I'm not

  162. talking about that, although that's a good thing to do,

  163. of a good sleep, but it's it's not just that,

  164. it's the peace that it transforms your heart and mind,

  165. transforms everything that you can just rest rest in God.

  166. These are the promises because we're His kids. And when

  167. you are kids, you inherit. And I don't mean just

  168. when some passes away. What I mean is in a family,

  169. you inherit on a day to day basis the parents.

  170. And I'd pray in a human saying, you'd pray that

  171. that's a good thing. I know at times families and

  172. humans families and that stuff it up. God does not

  173. stuff it up. You are heirs to good stuff.

  174. That's why he's Papa.

  175. Our identity as Abbas and daughters includes God's blessing of

  176. his promises, because why because blessing reflects and brings the

  177. heart and favor of God. Barak in the Hebrew the Logia,

  178. which of course we get eulogy from as well, it's

  179. to speak the heart and favor of God. I think

  180. sometimes we become flippant with it. I usually use blessings

  181. as a thing on the bottom of my emails. I

  182. actually mean it. It is easy to say, God, bless

  183. you whatever, and it is easy for us to not

  184. fully grasp what that means. This is actually powerful. Why

  185. because God himself uses blessing as a prophetic declaration of

  186. his promised favor. God is not ashamed to give you

  187. favor and bless you. This is from number six. You're

  188. not now, I've underlined it. And the Lord spoke. So

  189. this is coming from God, all right. This is not

  190. the flip side, coming from Moses or whatever speaking to God.

  191. This is the Lord speaking, he says, saying, speak to

  192. Aaron and his son, saying, this is the way you

  193. shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them, the

  194. Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his

  195. face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The

  196. Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

  197. So they shall put my name. See the Lord. He

  198. longs to be the parent on the children of Israel.

  199. He wants to be Papa, and I will bless them.

  200. It's a prophetic promise. This is God speaking, This is

  201. the Father speaking. Luke twenty four. Last words matter a

  202. lot of people. Just I won't say verbal diaryre, but

  203. you can talk a lot when you think you've got

  204. a lot of time. If you know you've got thirty

  205. seconds or less or whatever, you tend to pick your

  206. words carefully. So what did Jesus do? So this is

  207. when Jesus and he Jesus Luke twenty four led them

  208. out as far as Bethany, and then lifted up his

  209. hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass while

  210. he blessed them, that he was parted from them and

  211. carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him and returned

  212. to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the

  213. temple praising and blessing God. Can you see what's happening here?

  214. The last thing that Jesus does bless Us, and then

  215. his disciples, his children knew the goodness of the blessing,

  216. and they could do nothing, nothing other than go back

  217. and praise and bless God. See, we're blessed to be

  218. a blessing. It goes both ways. It leads you to worship,

  219. to worship God. This is why words matter. We all

  220. know what proverbs eighteen twenty one. Death and life are

  221. in the power of the tongue, and those who love

  222. it will eat its fruit. Jesus spoke life, He blessed,

  223. he blessed. He gave us the model. Use it to bless,

  224. use it to bless. I am not talking here, by

  225. the way, about giving a blessing to a sinful action.

  226. I'm not talking about that at all. Of course, you

  227. don't bless that, all right, I'm putting it right out there.

  228. I will never ever bless a same sex marriage, full stop.

  229. Don't care what the law says, it will never happen.

  230. But I will bless and love the person because we

  231. love the sinner but hate the sin. It's very Remember

  232. God so loved the world that he gave his only son. Right,

  233. people are made in the image of God. Genesis tells

  234. us that right at the beginning. But you do not

  235. have to approve of sinful action. They's totally different things.

  236. They're totally different things. But you bless the person because

  237. so often it's in the love that's shown to someone

  238. when they are totally in their brokenness. It's the kindness

  239. of God that leads them to repentance. All right, that's

  240. why you keep loving them. That's why God keeps loving

  241. us even when we stuff up. You think of Saul

  242. of Tarsus, I mean, how bad could it get. He's

  243. actually going and killing jesus own people. He's on the

  244. road to Damascus. He's trying to wipe out the church.

  245. But Jesus loved him enough to knock him off a

  246. donkey and says Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?

  247. He still loved him. Jesus did not love what Saul

  248. was doing. And let that be a warning to us

  249. of why you need the Holy Spirit when you read scripture,

  250. because that's one of the problems we've got these days,

  251. as we have become so so lukewarm to the Holy

  252. Spirit that we just focus on the word without se

  253. being it through the Spirit. When we read the Word,

  254. we're meant to encounter God. It's meant to be the

  255. presence of God. That's what the scripture does. There's life

  256. in it. If you don't, you will end up like

  257. a Pharisee. Because they knew the scripture better than anyone,

  258. and yet they couldn't see the Messiah who was in

  259. front of them. For the mouth speaks what the heart

  260. is full of. Also, bless yourself. Now, I know that

  261. sounds indulgent, Just hear me out what a meaning by

  262. that is if God loves you. That is at least

  263. a demonstration that you're lovable. Because some people almost develop

  264. this self hate, and I actually see it in churches.

  265. I see it in Christians where they will say things

  266. about themselves that they would never say to anyone else.

  267. They'll be highly critical of themselves. I don't look this,

  268. I'm not there, and blah blah blah blahlah. And yet

  269. if you said it to someone else, they jump on you,

  270. and rightly so because you shouldn't say that, because they're beautiful,

  271. wonderfully made. Whatever else you said, yeah, okay, so are you.

  272. So sometimes you just need to be careful of that too.

  273. We are beautifully and wonderfully made. It's a great test

  274. for the mouth speaks. Jesus said this, for the mouth

  275. speaks what the heart is full of. Do you therefore

  276. speak blessing or what else? What's coming up there? Again,

  277. I'm not saying approving sin stuff like that. It's always

  278. a good measure just to check. I'm not ordering pizza.

  279. I'm just keeping tabs on the time, because where we've

  280. got the kids say every now and look at the

  281. time there. I want to now look at the last

  282. little bit, which we don't talk about a lot in church,

  283. and I'll certainly be addressing along the line the next

  284. few messages. But the role of the demonic, I don't

  285. tend to focus on it much. And you can see

  286. here it's at the tail end because it's not like

  287. a dualism with God and Satan being equals. No one's

  288. a fallen angel. It's at his backside kicked, and one

  289. is the Lord God. But they're not even in the

  290. same page. However, that doesn't mean old Harry Legs won't

  291. still try and rob your blessing. So we need need

  292. to actually be aware of it. Paul did this. He

  293. talked about think about Inephesians. He talked about the need

  294. for the armor of God. Just because you're Christian doesn't

  295. mean you need to put this on. You need to

  296. do certain things to co labor with God into the blessing.

  297. What I mean by that is you can be given

  298. think of blessings from God. When I say that, you

  299. could be given a million dollars and it's given to

  300. you as your inheritance and you leave the will sitting there.

  301. You're aware of it, but you just can't be bothered

  302. ever going to the solicitors. Certainly can't be bothered going

  303. to the bank. So you live as a pauper. You

  304. had access to it, but you still needed to step

  305. into it. So we need to make sure that we

  306. step into it. And part of that is getting around

  307. this obstacle because demons will try and rob you of blessing.

  308. I'm just going to read this one from Lup thirteen.

  309. This is Jesus. Now he was teaching in one of

  310. the synagogues on the Sabbath, and behold there was a

  311. woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years and

  312. she was bent over and could in no way raise

  313. herself up. But when Jesus saw her, he called her

  314. to him and said to her, woman, you are loosed

  315. from your infirmity. And he laid his hands on her,

  316. and immediately she was made straight and glorified God. And

  317. then he says he gets the Pharisees telling him it's

  318. the wrong day of the week to help someone, and

  319. he says, so ought not this woman being note a

  320. daughter of Abraham whom Satan has bound. It's demonic. Think

  321. of it. For eighteen years. Be loosed from this bond

  322. on the Sabbath. Note what Jesus says here, she's the

  323. seed of Abraham, she's a daughter of Abraham. He's using

  324. that as therefore she has certain rights and privileges that

  325. are given to her. She doesn't have to earn them.

  326. It's a give. It also means she's worthy of blessing.

  327. He goes out of his way here to bless her. See,

  328. God intends us. We see that with Jesus. God intends

  329. us to be freed. He's come to set the captives free,

  330. to release the prisoners. Satan will try and keep you

  331. from the blessing because he knows if he does that,

  332. because he always comes to kill, steal, and destroyed. But

  333. if he knows that, he can often then try and

  334. stop you from doing what God called you to do.

  335. That's the difference. That's why this is so important. Jesus intervened.

  336. He shows that. So where do we exercise this? We

  337. have the victory in the blessed of Christ's authority, right,

  338. we have that, So where basically do we exercise this?

  339. Because I want to put it straight out there that

  340. while through the name of Jesus, through the authority of Jesus,

  341. we have the power and the authority to cast out

  342. demons and remove demons, we can bind them. But there

  343. is we operate also under a limitation as well. What

  344. I mean by that is we don't just go down

  345. the street just because I feel like going through Marian

  346. so I'll just cast out demons if I see one. No,

  347. that's actually not it. There's a number of reasons. First

  348. of all, if you cast one out, if the person

  349. or anyway you get seven back, they're in a worse position.

  350. You don't do that. There is also free will. There's

  351. free will inness I look at it like an amber

  352. if you think politically, if the Australian ambassador is sent

  353. to the USA, they have the authority of the government

  354. to operate in the USA, But they don't have the

  355. same authority if they go to Peru, because they're the

  356. ambassador the descent to the USA. So where does God

  357. give us, each one of us that right, that calling

  358. to operate against demons. Well, first of all, it's over households,

  359. and I don't think we take that seriously enough to

  360. be honest as a Christian body, myself included, because we

  361. actually have spiritual authority over households to see them free

  362. from demons. I'm reading now from Matthew seventeen. When they

  363. came to the crowd, a man of approached Jesus and

  364. knelt before him. Lord, have mercy on my son. He said,

  365. he has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls

  366. into the fire or into the water of brought him

  367. to your disciples. They could not healing. Jesus annoyed, you,

  368. unbelieving and perverse generation. That's what we call a divine spray.

  369. I hate to think what I'd get if they got that.

  370. Jesus replied, how long shall I stay with you? How

  371. long shall I put up with you? And then he says,

  372. bring the boy here to me. Jesus rebuked the demon,

  373. and it came out of the boy, and he was

  374. healed at that moment. Note the father had the authority

  375. to present the boy to Jesus. Really important to note

  376. that there's nothing there that says it was the boy

  377. who did it. It was the authority of the parents

  378. of their children who would pray that. And that actually

  379. makes sense in many ways because we pray for our kids,

  380. we do actually pray protection over them. It's important also

  381. note with Jesus, there there are times when look, every

  382. ailment we have, including our physical death, all comes from

  383. sin right at the beginning. But there's also times in

  384. the Gospels and you read Jesus heals, and he literally heals,

  385. He just says be healed. There are other times where

  386. he says, deaf and dumb spirit come out in Jesus' name.

  387. He seems to discern at times that there's a difference.

  388. We need to do that as well. We need to

  389. actually discern. So when we're even praying for healing, how

  390. are we going about that? Because there are some models

  391. of healing which go old is pray for healing. And

  392. don't get me wrong, it's a good thing to pray

  393. for healing. We should. But my question is have you

  394. actually asked the Holy Spirit what the problem is to

  395. start with? I mean, if he's a god of the

  396. universe and he can speak to you, why I can't

  397. he speak to you there? I can think of an

  398. example actually with Tom. Tom's going, where's this guy? It's

  399. all right, mate, you're fine. I can remember once coming

  400. across a young man as actually in our family, and

  401. he was having huge problems a school teacher, huge problems

  402. with his voice, and it had got to the point

  403. this thing. He didn't know why his voice was just going.

  404. And I can remember a time, actually it was Christmas

  405. time and we're buying some clothes for him, and he

  406. was saying, I don't even know if I should be

  407. getting your clothes for teaching, because I can't get over this.

  408. And he'd been getting prayer and prayer in his church

  409. and whatever else. And I remember Tom and I were

  410. at the back and we said, we'll pray for you,

  411. and we just prayed, and we just waited for a

  412. bit and we saw a black claw just in his throat,

  413. so we simply removed it, and the name of Jesus

  414. removed that. He hasn't missed a beat since I think

  415. I can remember. Tomo, I reckon, you had an issue

  416. with a foot. You've got a couple of minutes. Do

  417. you want to just tell us? Yeah, come on, we'll

  418. need this one on. Thanks t K. Go get him mate.

  419. To give you a really short version. But basically, Mary

  420. and I had a great honeymoon, but I came back

  421. not well.

  422. It wasn't.

  423. But basically I had some symptoms in my foot of

  424. swelling pain. I'd get woken up at three am with

  425. this really sharp pain that wouldn't leave for about thirty minutes.

  426. And I'm a physio and I understand pain quite well.

  427. I knew it wasn't like a musculo skeletal problem like

  428. joints ligament, muscle. It felt different. And actually Anthea brock

  429. Bank was an angel from heaven. Mary and I had

  430. actually ordered a therma mix, and Anthea came to our

  431. place and she looked at my foot and she was.

  432. Like, what's wrong with your foot? And it was just

  433. blown up.

  434. And then she was helping us set up the therma mix,

  435. and I just started to feel quite unwell, like I

  436. needed to lie down, and so I laid down for

  437. a couple of hours, and my heart rate on my

  438. watch was booming. Anyway, we decided to call the ambulance

  439. and I ended up in hospital for a couple of nights.

  440. I was on a drip antibiotics. I had a bacterial

  441. infection in my foot and I had ivy antibiotics, and

  442. then for a week later I was given at oral

  443. antibiotics and then within about a day or two of

  444. finishing a seven day course of antibiotics, I started to

  445. get the symptoms again. So we went back to the

  446. hospital very quickly before I started to get those symptoms.

  447. Had another course of antibiotics about four or five days,

  448. and then a few days later symptoms came back on.

  449. So I had about three courses of antibiotics and I

  450. was fine with them, and then as soon as I'd stopped,

  451. the symptoms came back. Anyway, at church, I just went

  452. up for prayer. I'm like, this has got to stop.

  453. And it was actually Jen Hills. The Hills family used

  454. to be an amazing part of South but she was

  455. praying for me with Gary, and Jen actually had a

  456. picture of a claw in my foot, like a black

  457. claw in my foot, and so her and Gary were

  458. rebuking it, and then she was getting me to like

  459. shake my foot as well as just a physical stance

  460. to declare a spiritual reality. And since that day I've

  461. not had the symptoms ever again. So yeah, that was

  462. quite amazing.

  463. Yeah, thanks Tomo. So that's what I'm talking about. It

  464. does not mean that there is a demonic issue every

  465. time someone has an ailment, so don't don't go looking

  466. for you, a devil behind every pop blant and whatever else.

  467. We're not going to that. I'm not talking about that,

  468. but I'm saying we have to go by the word

  469. of God. And there are times when Jesus says, just

  470. be healed, and there are other times when he says,

  471. I'm cast it out. We need to be aware of

  472. that because Satan will try and rob you of joy,

  473. rob you of your blessings through health issues at times.

  474. That's one of his approaches. And we see that spiritual

  475. blindness is something else. We pray for prodigals, and we

  476. should pray for prodigals. It's a good thing, and pray

  477. in faith. But I just want to read this at sixteen.

  478. This is something that Sarah and I cling to believe.

  479. The jailer called for lights. Remember Paul and Silas the

  480. throne in prison. Beaten rushed in and fell trembling before

  481. Paul and Silas. He then brought the mountain, ask sirs,

  482. what must I do to be saved? They replied, believe

  483. in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.

  484. You and your household. They didn't just say you, it's

  485. you and your household. What is one of the problems

  486. we face two Corinthians four four. The God of this

  487. age has blinded the minds of unbelievers. The god of

  488. this age is Satan. So this is demonic saying, there's

  489. a demonic blinding. This is why when we sometimes think

  490. why is it? And you scratch your head and you go,

  491. why is it that we can have a late term

  492. abortion at eight months and that's considered a good thing.

  493. And yet if someone comes in and starts to have

  494. a baby four weeks prem we do everything we can

  495. to save it. It's the same baby. The only difference

  496. is someone's attitude. So hang on, how can how does

  497. that work? It's a spiritual blindness, so they cannot see

  498. the light of the Gospel that displays the glory of Christ,

  499. who is the image of God. Unbelief is a spiritual thing.

  500. What's the answer. I believe it's in the household, in

  501. the blessing as the seed of Abraham. Believe in the

  502. Lord Jesus Christ, and you and your household will be saved.

  503. But you need to pray that. You don't just leave

  504. it at the solicitor's office as something you can inherit.

  505. Don't bother about pray into that, keep praying into it.

  506. And we have a role in that too, obviously with

  507. our families. You know, you pray with them and you

  508. speak and all that. And what I'm saying is, do

  509. not give up because one of the great joys for sake.

  510. And I'm sure as when you can hear Christians go,

  511. oh yeah, I've got these kids and you know, in

  512. all these and they're not following the Lord. Turn it around,

  513. start going the word of God says, because if God

  514. is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, I don't understand

  515. how he can save the Philippian jailer's kids and say

  516. stuff it to yours. How does that work? He just say, God,

  517. say love the world. He didn't say just some of them.

  518. He loved the world. The blood of Christ is sufficient.

  519. I don't know how that all works. Don't give me.

  520. I have no idea. I don't have to, Oh my God.

  521. All I need to know is that is the word

  522. of God. And I'll stand on it. Why because he's

  523. the authority, not me, and I'll trust him with it.

  524. I will trust him with it. How many times you

  525. hear people I've heard one just recently praying for prodigals,

  526. and then a really bad thing will happen, like an accident.

  527. But you go, how are they not killed in that?

  528. How is how are they not taken out or something happens.

  529. You go, that's the prayer. That's the prayer because I

  530. believe that's actually I believe that's true, and I think

  531. it's part of that process. Take authority over demonic forces.

  532. That is one of the promises we have. He sent

  533. us out thinking Marx Gospel right at the end. One

  534. of the first things he says to disciples, go out

  535. and cast out demons. He says that first up there

  536. were Jesus' words, just because it's not politically correct in

  537. a humanist, atheistic worldview, stuff that that's what Jesus said,

  538. so we will do it. It's simple. We also have

  539. spiritual authority in areas of our mission calling. This is

  540. another area we need to step up. At sixteen, we're

  541. going to a place of prayer where they were met

  542. by a female slave who had a spirit. Some of

  543. the versions say spirit of divination. Whatever, that's it's part

  544. of it. It's not a correct translation, certainly of the Greek.

  545. The Greek actually says Numa Pythona spirit of Python. If

  546. you don't believe me, have a look at the Greek

  547. That's what it says by which she predicted the future.

  548. That's where they get the divination bit from. She earned

  549. a great deal of money for her owners by fortune telling.

  550. She followed Paul and the rest of us shouting, these

  551. men are servants of the Most High God, who are

  552. telling you the way to be saved. She kept this

  553. up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that

  554. he turned around and said to the spirit. No, he

  555. doesn't say to the girl, Remember you love the sinner,

  556. you hate the sin, you hate the demon. And he

  557. turns around. He says to the spirit, in the name

  558. of Jesus Christ, I command you to come out of her.

  559. At that moment, the spirit left her. We have authority,

  560. I said. It's a bit like your house. You have

  561. authority over your household. You have authority to do what

  562. you like in your guard and whatever else. You don't

  563. have the same authority if you're down someone else's house

  564. six laws down the road, because they have free will,

  565. and God honors that. However, if you're in the middle

  566. of your mission calling, God does give you that right.

  567. He will give you the right to come against demons

  568. who are coming against that calling that you have from God. Absolutely,

  569. that's what's happening here. That's why I believe when you

  570. read that, it's really interesting. First of all, i'll talk

  571. to it's important that Luke when he wrote this, he

  572. used spirit of Python. He didn't just say spirit of

  573. divination in this case. Yes, he then writes one of

  574. the behaviors of divination, but he could have said that.

  575. He didn't. He said python spirit. A Python spirit has

  576. many more aspects than divination. And he wrote that in deliberately.

  577. Remember he was the historian guy the medical doctor story,

  578. and he was very much onto detail. He wrote it

  579. for a reason because it was there. But what you

  580. notice with this Paul puts up with it, says there

  581. for many days. This is why he didn't do it

  582. straight away, because he could have seen the girl at

  583. a demon. But he knew that actually in this case,

  584. she's a slave. She's got her own free will as

  585. the owners whatever else, they're doing their own thing. However,

  586. she got that whatever else, Okay, whatever that was in

  587. the background. I'm not saying it's fine, but in a

  588. sense it's like, well, whatever, he can keep walking. But

  589. after many days what was happening was that demon was

  590. impacting on their ministry, and suddenly it's no longer not

  591. his business. It now becomes his business. So after a while,

  592. many days he's had a gutful and just says, gone,

  593. it's the same in ministry. You can do exactly the same.

  594. That spirit of Python is something you need to we

  595. all need to be aware of. And I know I

  596. spoke about this. It's last year now, isn't it. I

  597. can't even remember. It was in the second half of

  598. last year. I think I spoke on Python spirits. That's

  599. a spirit that will attack Christians and it will try

  600. It's what you're seeing it here. What it's trying to do,

  601. is it it spreads It'll either spread truth, but in

  602. almost a bit of a sarcastic way, it'll twist things.

  603. It'll try and get in the way into fear, and

  604. over time it'll try and now you rob you of joy,

  605. but it'll start to almost strangle. This is where the

  606. python becomes in. It'll start to strangle you. So you

  607. start to go, why is it I'm not getting why

  608. I'm not getting jobs like I seem to be overqualified

  609. for but I'm not. Just never seems to happen. There's

  610. always something goes wrong, or finances or something and I'm

  611. trying here, but it's something just doesn't quite work. And

  612. quite often it's this sort of thing. It's a Python

  613. spirit and it'll just work quietly. It's slow, it doesn't

  614. it doesn't kill instantly, it's not like that. It just

  615. squeezes the life. And in the meantime you realize after

  616. a while you go, actually, things are just a shadow

  617. really of what they were, and you need to you

  618. need to stand against that. It's interesting because you'd describe

  619. demons by how they behave and their manifestation. It doesn't

  620. mean they are that. So when Jesus says deaf and

  621. dumb spirit is because the manifestation is you know, someone

  622. is deaf and dumb saying like that. If you think

  623. back to the beginning in the garden that python, there's

  624. also deceit. It was the serpents of that image of deceit.

  625. And it will spread lies. He will spread lies, and

  626. it will also as it sucks the life out of you,

  627. so the lies will come in Jim. This actually started

  628. last week but it's just come again. You need to

  629. really be encouraged that you're a good father. One of

  630. the things I think that I'm sensing is that you've

  631. been sold the lie that there were things that you've

  632. felt and looked at, and you go, I didn't pick

  633. that up. I wasn't there at that time. If only,

  634. if only I was there. And I just think God

  635. is actually saying there's a healing that actually that's a lie.

  636. You were there and you always have been. Is that

  637. spirit that has actually come against you and the Lord?

  638. I believe the Lord is saying very clearly, mate, that

  639. you are in for a real season of him being

  640. bailed Praisan, the God of the breakthrough. That what has

  641. been robbed of you? I see an image of a

  642. almost like some of what you were meant to be

  643. blessed with, like an inheritance, like part of our inheritance.

  644. Whatever it is he is, it's underd orters has been robbed.

  645. It's almost like a righteous religious spirit or something has

  646. robbed that from you. There's been financial stuff, but you

  647. were there. You were there, and you've also been there

  648. for your kids, and that is really strong and I

  649. do believe you might not have ever thought that at times,

  650. but actually you were. And the reason is they're alive.

  651. I know this will sound bizarre, but they're alive because

  652. you guys prayed protection over them. And that is why.

  653. That is why they are alive when everything looking at

  654. the situation said they should not be. Whoever it was,

  655. because I can even see it now, I can see

  656. a spirit of death and it was murderous, and yet

  657. your family came through it. And the reason was is

  658. because you were there. It wasn't absence, it was because

  659. you were there, because you were there praying over your household.

  660. This stuff really matters. This stuff really matters. This matters.

  661. I just want to I was actually got some more.

  662. I'm going to finish up one other one. I would

  663. just say very briefly and I'll talk about this in

  664. another time. A levith and spirit be aware of that.

  665. You can have discernment of spirits. Guys, if you're not

  666. used to this, start praying and asking the Holy Spirit

  667. to guide joining this. Sometimes you'll get a Leviathan spirit.

  668. A leviath and spirit will always try and rise up

  669. and shut it tries to take control and shut down.

  670. Always does rise up. It'll create chaos, division, whatever it can.

  671. Best example of this is Acts ninety Paul and Ephesus.

  672. Remember Demetrius the silversmith, same thing stirs it up to

  673. try and shut the whole thing down. Be aware of

  674. that over families and households as well. Yes, you can

  675. face that in ministry like Paul did, but over families

  676. and households. So often you will see when a family

  677. you can trace it back to when a family suddenly

  678. it comes to know Christ and the power of the

  679. Holy Spirit, you can trace it back. Satan will try

  680. and infiltrate, and quite often what you will see is

  681. it'll start a family line, it will try and create division, manipulate,

  682. it'll twist things. It'll always try and take control. It'll

  683. either take try and take control of the family finances,

  684. it could be the relationships. It will split and you'll

  685. know it'll work for a bit, but it will nearly.

  686. In fact, I can't think of an example where it

  687. does not end in rage. And you will see it

  688. and it's like this person's exploding, what is going on?

  689. And you'll see it in families and it will deliberately

  690. try and separate. Bind that thing, Bind that thing, Okay,

  691. it might be that it's not in your area of authority,

  692. of its way out in distant rallies and whatever. But

  693. your household you can bind it. And if it comes

  694. into you, so you are in now gathering or whatever

  695. else and that's coming in there, just bind it. Bind

  696. it in the name of Jesus Christ. Shut the thing down.

  697. Then it can't do damaging your family gathering at that time,

  698. because Satan comes to kill, steel and destroy. You'll know

  699. what I'm talking about. I'm not just talking about someone

  700. having a disagreement, right or you know that can happen

  701. like we're humans and get that. You'll know what I'm

  702. talking about. It'll be something that is absolutely repeated and

  703. then sort of comes alongside and tries to get together

  704. with other groups in the background and you know, manipulate

  705. things whatever else. And it'll be repeated, and then when

  706. it doesn't get its way, it'll often withdraw. That's another

  707. sign of them, you know, there's obviously usually there's sort

  708. of this because they love their idol. See that's what

  709. the silversmith was, Artemis the goddess, he loved it. That

  710. sort of spirit. They'll always have an idol, whatever it is.

  711. The idol and if it'll be fine to you go

  712. near that. And if that's the case, if they're getting

  713. their way, they'll often then just withdraw, but they won't

  714. be able to do that. It'll still be chaotic and

  715. you get this rage and you'll know, you'll know if

  716. you've been in it, because it's a different. It's different

  717. than someone just having a bad day. You'll know when

  718. it's demonic. You'll know, and it might be your thought,

  719. this person is just nuts, but you haven't twigged. Why

  720. now I've said that you're actually the penny. Actually, now

  721. I think I get it. Go back and read it

  722. Acts nineteen. It's a really interesting example of what happened

  723. to Paul, same thing. So be aware of that with

  724. your families. Okay, guys, be aware of that.
