  1. Psalm 110 this morning. Psalm 110 is, I

  2. believe, the father's song to the son.

  3. The father's song to the son. How many

  4. of you would agree with this? that

  5. Christmas time, though it is meant

  6. oftentimes portrayed as a time to slow

  7. down, is actually the opposite and seems

  8. to be the busiest, most hectic time of

  9. the year. You agree with that? Is that

  10. true? I a safe assumption to make. Uh I

  11. I find that to be true. Now, we we say

  12. Christmas time is a time to relax and be

  13. with family and and it's a good idea. It

  14. sounds good in our head, but we all know

  15. it's just not true. Things are busier

  16. than ever this month out of the year.

  17. So, here's what I want us to do as a

  18. church family. I want us in our

  19. preaching time every week this month to

  20. slow down. Typically, I'm doing the I

  21. did this last month. I would take a

  22. whole psalm and we would overview it and

  23. we move fast through it and we pull out

  24. the high points. And then on Wednesday

  25. nights, we're going through the book of

  26. Revelation and we're moving quickly.

  27. We're not we're not getting down in the

  28. weeds. We're just moving quickly through

  29. the book of Revelation. So, we're

  30. covering portions of scripture and we're

  31. throwing a lot of information out really

  32. fast. And it can almost be a little

  33. overwhelming at times. It's overwhelming

  34. for me at times. Here's what I want us

  35. to do for the month of December on

  36. Sunday mornings. We're going to look at

  37. seven verses, one psalm the entire

  38. month. We're going to take it one verse,

  39. two verses at a time. We're going to

  40. break it down word by word, phrase by

  41. phrase, and we're going to get

  42. everything we can out of this little

  43. psalm, Psalm 110. It is a beautiful,

  44. beautiful psalm. It is I I believe it is

  45. the the father speaking to the son. And

  46. you'll see this, it is God the Father

  47. speaking to the son, Jesus Christ. Psalm

  48. 110 is one of the most interesting

  49. psalms in the book of Psalms. Let me

  50. give you some Bible trivia, okay? Okay.

  51. And I'll tell you why I'm giving you

  52. this in a moment. Uh it's it's most

  53. likely

  54. not a psalm that in your Bible right

  55. now, maybe there's some things

  56. highlighted, but most likely the first

  57. time you read this psalm, you you

  58. probably didn't underline and highlight

  59. a whole bunch of things. And and when

  60. you read the book of Psalms, you you

  61. read it with a highlighter because it's

  62. so practical and it's so it's so easy to

  63. read and it's so encouraging and you're

  64. just underlining and highlighting and

  65. circling and man, this is just great.

  66. And then you get to Psalm 110 and it's

  67. seven verses and you probably most

  68. Christians read through it and think,

  69. hm, I'll come back to that someday. And

  70. you go on to Psalm 111. Praise ye the

  71. Lord, and I will praise the Lord with my

  72. whole heart. Yes. Okay, we're back to

  73. good stuff here. But Psalm 110 is, I

  74. believe, perhaps the most theologically

  75. rich psalm of any psalm in the book of

  76. Psalms. It it is I I can actually think

  77. I can prove that to you in some way.

  78. The the Psalm 110

  79. is the most referenced Psalm in the New

  80. Testament. Now, last week we talked

  81. about Psalm 118. Psalm 118 is uh my

  82. understanding my I think that I'm

  83. correct in this. Psalm 118 is quoted 11

  84. times, directly quoted 11 times in the

  85. New Testament. Psalm 110 is directly

  86. quoted nine times in the New Testament.

  87. So if you look at direct quotation,

  88. Psalm 118 is the most directly quoted

  89. psalm in the New Testament. However,

  90. there are entire chapters of the New

  91. Testament that are written as a as out

  92. of Psalm 110. And so though it may not

  93. be directly quoted the most, it is by

  94. far and away the most referenced psalm

  95. in the New Testament. And additionally

  96. on top of that, Psalm 110 verse number

  97. one, the verse that we're going to look

  98. at this morning is the most quoted verse

  99. out of the entire Old Testament. It is

  100. the most quoted verse in the New

  101. Testament. Psalm 110 verse number one.

  102. So, so, and in fact, Jesus even quotes

  103. Psalm 110 verse one. On three different

  104. occasions, Jesus is is quoting the

  105. psalm. He quotes it in the book of

  106. Matthew. He quotes it to confound the

  107. the Pharisees. It's a fascinating,

  108. wonderful little verse. It's so packed.

  109. I have 10 pages of notes this morning on

  110. verse one.

  111. Does that scare you? Okay, it shouldn't

  112. scare you. We'll go fast. Okay, so we

  113. find Psalm 110, verse number one. I

  114. think it's the if it's not the most

  115. theologically rich, it's definitely up

  116. there with some of the most

  117. theologically rich portions of scripture

  118. that you will find. uh the commentary

  119. commentary written by David Montgomery

  120. Boyce, he counted 27 times that this

  121. psalm is directly quoted or alluded to

  122. in the New Testament. Directly quoted or

  123. referenced in the New Testament 27 times

  124. and it is the most quoted verse one is

  125. the most quoted verse in the New

  126. Testament. Now, I tell you all this

  127. trivia not just to give you trivia, but

  128. to demonstrate the significance of this

  129. little psalm to the New Testament

  130. believer because these quotations are

  131. found in the New Testament. They're

  132. found in the book of Hebrews. They're

  133. found in the book of Corinthians.

  134. They're found in the book of Peter.

  135. They're found in these books that are

  136. written to the New Testament church. And

  137. so, this psalm, Psalm 110, carries great

  138. weight and great significance to you and

  139. I as New Testament believers.

  140. The psalm is composed as a conversation

  141. between God the father and God the son.

  142. David is the human author and he is the

  143. recipient of this prophetic messianic

  144. powerful message. I wrote this statement

  145. in my notes and it helps me kind of wrap

  146. my mind around the structure of the

  147. psalm. Psalm 110 is a dialogue from the

  148. mouth of God the father to the ear of

  149. God the son and we get to reap its

  150. blessings through the pen of King David.

  151. So it's a dialogue from the mouth of God

  152. the father to the ear of God the son and

  153. we get to reap the blessings from it

  154. through the pen of David of King David.

  155. I broke the psalm into five sections.

  156. We're going to look at the first two

  157. sections this morning. They're both

  158. found in verse one. And then we're going

  159. to look at the next three sections over

  160. the next three Sundays. Uh if the Lord

  161. allows us to and that's his his plan for

  162. us, which is what my plan is right now.

  163. Here's the five sections of the psalm.

  164. Number one, in verse one, the first part

  165. of verse one, we see the son's person.

  166. The second part of verse one, we see the

  167. son's position. The verse two and verse

  168. three, we see the son's power. That'll

  169. be next week. Verse four, we see the

  170. son's priesthood.

  171. And then in verse 5 through 7, we see

  172. the son's plan. And so for the month of

  173. December, we're going to dive in and

  174. we're going to dig just a little bit.

  175. We're going to take it one verse at a

  176. time and we're going to see what God has

  177. to reveal to us in this amazingly deep,

  178. rich psalm, Psalm 110. So with that

  179. introduction, that backdrop, look with

  180. me at verse number one. We'll just read

  181. verse one this morning.

  182. The Lord said unto my Lord, "Sit thou at

  183. my right hand until I make thine enemies

  184. thy foottool."

  185. Number one, write down his person.

  186. In verse one, the first phrase in Psalm

  187. 110 is the Lord said unto my Lord. We

  188. are introducing the characters of the

  189. dialogue. We're introducing the players

  190. in the psalm. Who is communicating to

  191. who? Who is talking to who? Now, this

  192. this passage I've already said is the

  193. most quoted. This verse, verse one of

  194. Psalm 110, is the most quoted verse in

  195. the New Testament. But for some reason,

  196. it is also the the source or the hub of

  197. some intense debate about who's talking

  198. to who and what this actually means.

  199. Now, we shouldn't be too confused about

  200. it. It's very clear. Jesus even talks

  201. about it in the New Testament to clarify

  202. any confusion that there may be. But for

  203. some reason, humans have decided to

  204. confuse this most quoted verse. And so,

  205. let's teach for a moment. Can we teach

  206. for a moment? And let's look at what

  207. this is and let's see who's talking to

  208. who? And let's identify the person, the

  209. son's person. There are two words used

  210. that are the same word in our English,

  211. but it's different word in the Hebrew

  212. and it's spelled uh with slightly in a

  213. slightly different way in the English.

  214. So you see the Lord, the second word,

  215. you'll notice something about that word

  216. Lord. In your King James Bible, it's

  217. capital L, capital O, capital R, capital

  218. D. It's all caps. The King James

  219. translators when they translated the

  220. Bible they did that on purpose to

  221. identify the Hebrew word Yahweh or

  222. Jehovah in the Hebrew that is the most

  223. holy name for God. But then you see the

  224. other word the Lord Jehovah Yahweh says

  225. to my Lord. Now it's the same word but

  226. it's looks a little bit different.

  227. Right? This time it's spelled capital L,

  228. but it's lowercase O, lowercase R,

  229. lowercase D. That word in the Hebrew is

  230. Adoni. It means simply Lord. It means

  231. master. It could be used of God. It

  232. often is. But it can also be used of of

  233. a a person uh talking about a person who

  234. is higher than them. In fact, David

  235. would at one point call Saul his Adonai,

  236. his lord, because Saul was king over

  237. David at the time. And so we have the

  238. two words here. And this is where people

  239. get so confused about this. I'm not

  240. going to get super into the weeds, but

  241. I've done a lot of study on it o over

  242. the last few days. And I want to just

  243. simplify it and clarify it. Can I do

  244. that? First of all, the first one I

  245. believe we can label as his

  246. introduction.

  247. Jesus is God. We are introduced to

  248. Yahweh Jehovah. That is all of who God

  249. is. We might could say that this

  250. conversation is an intertrinitarian

  251. conversation. So we have two players of

  252. the Godhead inside of the Trinity. Both

  253. are God, but they're talking to one

  254. another. Are you confused? So the first

  255. one is Yahweh, Jehovah, all of who God

  256. is, God the Father. Jesus is included in

  257. Yahweh but he's talking to Adoni that is

  258. the Lord. So if Yahweh is his

  259. introduction, Adonai is his occupation.

  260. This is what he does. He acts as master.

  261. He acts as Lord. So he is God Yahweh but

  262. he is also Adoni the master. Yahweh is

  263. the covenant name for God. I find this

  264. interesting and fascinating, so I'll

  265. share it with you. Don't be confused by

  266. this extremely long word. Okay? In

  267. Hebrew culture, they called the word

  268. Yahweh.

  269. I almost hesitate to tell you this

  270. because it's going to scare you, but

  271. don't be scared. It's just a word. Okay?

  272. In Hebrew, in the Hebrew culture, they

  273. called Yahweh the ineffable

  274. tetragrammaton.

  275. Okay? Ineffable meaning you cannot

  276. pronounce it. You don't say it. It's the

  277. ineffable tetra grammaton. It's special.

  278. It's high. It's holy. When they came to

  279. the word Yahweh, when a scribe was

  280. pinning down, copying the Bible. And he

  281. came to the word capital L, capital O,

  282. capital R, capital D, Yahweh in the

  283. Hebrew, when he would come to Yahweh.

  284. Tradition tells us, history tells us

  285. that he would take uh he would pause. He

  286. would put down his pen. He would leave

  287. the table where he was writing. He would

  288. take a a a wash. He would take a bath.

  289. He would change his clothes. He would

  290. wash his hands again. He would find a

  291. new pen. He would get new ink. And he

  292. would sit down again and write the word

  293. Yahweh because he wanted to be perfectly

  294. clean and perfectly pure before even

  295. writing the name.

  296. The Hebrews changed the spelling of the

  297. name because they didn't want to spell

  298. the name Yahweh with just the

  299. consonants. So they they they uh they

  300. would add in other uh letters so that it

  301. wouldn't be it wouldn't be strictly

  302. Yahweh. In fact, many Hebrews when they

  303. see the word Yahweh, they pronounce it

  304. Adoni because they don't want to say the

  305. word Jehovah.

  306. So it is when you come to when you see

  307. in your Bible in your King James Bible

  308. all caps Lord in all caps your mind

  309. should immediately think this is

  310. everything that God is. It's the it's

  311. the introduction that he used to with

  312. Abraham at the burning bush when Abraham

  313. said who am I going to tell Pharaoh or

  314. Abraham I'm sorry Moses. And Moses said

  315. uh who am I going to tell Pharaoh that

  316. sent me? The bush said,

  317. "Tell him I am. I am everything. I am

  318. all sufficient. I am Yahweh."

  319. So we see the first one, Lord. This is

  320. Yahweh. Then the second Lord is Adoni.

  321. This is the second person of the

  322. Trinity. He's talking to Jesus Christ.

  323. The image that we think about when we

  324. consider this psalm is this

  325. intertrinitarian dialogue. God the

  326. Father

  327. prophetically commending his son, the

  328. person of Jesus Christ within the bounds

  329. of the Trinity. So, it's fascinating. I

  330. hope that you're just like, "This is

  331. amazing." We've not even got to the

  332. psalm yet. There's one more thing I want

  333. you to see about his person, and that is

  334. the little two-letter word before Adoni.

  335. That is the word my.

  336. David is in the middle

  337. through the inspiration of Almighty God.

  338. We have Yahweh commending Adoni and

  339. placed in the middle of this dialogue is

  340. David who is able to hear what is being

  341. said and he writes it through

  342. inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He

  343. writes what is being communicated. Now

  344. notice what David says. He personalizes

  345. who is speaking. He said Yahweh who

  346. would have been regarded as God who is

  347. most holy says to my Lord. When David's

  348. writing this he is most likely king of

  349. Israel. So David is king. But yet king

  350. of Israel is submitting himself to the

  351. king of kings and he is saying he is my

  352. lord. I'm submitted to king Jesus. So

  353. that's his person. Don't be confused.

  354. It's clearly identified.

  355. It is God the Father speaking about and

  356. to God the Son. Hence the title, the

  357. Father's Song to the Son. Now, let's

  358. notice verse number two. And this is the

  359. message this morning.

  360. His position. We see his person. Now,

  361. notice his position in the last part of

  362. verse one.

  363. It says, "Sit thou at my right hand

  364. until I make thine enemies thy

  365. foottool."

  366. To sit at the right hand of a king was

  367. an extremely high honor.

  368. When Solomon became the king of Israel

  369. after David had passed off the scene, he

  370. he places a chair on his right hand for

  371. Ba Sheeba to sit in. It was a sign of of

  372. honor and dignity and love. Only the the

  373. king's most precious people in his life

  374. were permitted to sit at the right hand.

  375. And yet in this psalm, God tells Jesus,

  376. "Sit thou at my right hand."

  377. What does this teach us? Well, let me

  378. give you let's just break it down into a

  379. couple into three three individual

  380. phrases. We'll label each one. We'll

  381. talk about each one. First of all, set

  382. thou. Notice his posture. He's seated.

  383. The posture of Jesus signifies his

  384. approval. The father's approval of him.

  385. He is seated down because the work is

  386. complete. Now, this is interesting. You

  387. have to remember this. This is

  388. prophetic.

  389. At the time David is writing this, Jesus

  390. Christ has not yet went to the cross.

  391. But you and I read it as reality because

  392. now Jesus is seated at the right hand of

  393. God the Father. So God is prophesying to

  394. David about the Messiah that would come

  395. and be seated at his right hand once the

  396. work was complete.

  397. His posture

  398. clarifies his approval.

  399. It says this, the fact that Jesus is

  400. seated at the right hand says that the

  401. sacrifice is sufficient.

  402. In the Old Testament, they had to take

  403. lambs and they had to sacrifice all the

  404. time. It was only a temporary sacrifice.

  405. They would take the lamb and they would

  406. sacrifice the lamb and then they would

  407. have to do it again and they would have

  408. to do it again so that the blood of that

  409. lamb could temporarily atone for sin.

  410. But

  411. God is prophesying of the Messiah that

  412. his sacrifice would be sufficient for

  413. forever for all time. It would be

  414. complete. And when Jesus came his

  415. sacrifice was complete. Hebrews chapter

    Hebrews 7 chapter mention

  416. 7 references back Hebrews chapter 7,

    Hebrews 7 chapter mention

  417. Hebrews chapter 10, Hebrews chapter 9.

Hebrews 10 chapter mention Hebrews 9 chapter mention

  418. All of those passages contain parts of

  419. Psalm 110 in them. They're built off of

  420. Psalm 110. Let me give you some verses.

  421. Hebrews 7 and verse 27. Who needeth not,

  422. speaking of Jesus, Jesus needeth not

  423. daily as those high priests who offer up

  424. sacrifice for his own sins and then for

  425. the peoples. For this he did once when

  426. he offered up himself. that Jesus

  427. doesn't have to go offer himself daily

  428. every day. He doesn't have to go offer

  429. new sacrifices. No, he did one sacrifice

  430. and it was sufficient. It was complete.

  431. It was approved. So he is seated.

  432. Hebrews chapter 9 and verse 28. So

    Hebrews 9 chapter mention

  433. Christ was once offered to bear the sins

  434. of many. And unto them that look for him

  435. he shall appear the second time without

  436. sin unto salvation. Christ offered one

  437. time the sins of many. His sacrifice was

  438. sufficient. Hebrews chapter 10. This is

    Hebrews 10 chapter mention

  439. a a wonder. Write this reference down

  440. and go go look it up this afternoon. I'm

  441. going to read it to you. Hebrews

    Hebrews 10:10–14

  442. 10:10-14.

  443. By the which will we are sanctified

  444. through the offering of the body of

  445. Jesus Christ once for all. And every

  446. priest standeth daily ministering and

  447. offering of times the same sacrifices

  448. which can never take away sins. But this

  449. man, speaking of Jesus, after he had

  450. offered one sacrifice for the sins

  451. forever, sat down on the right hand of

  452. God, from henceforth, expecting till his

  453. enemies be made his foottool. For by one

  454. offering, he hath perfected forever them

  455. that are sanctified.

  456. What David is hearing from God to the

  457. son is a prophecy that the sacrifice of

  458. Jesus Christ, the sacrifice of the

  459. coming Messiah would be sufficient to

  460. take away the sins of the entire world,

  461. all people, all places, all times, yours

  462. and mine included. The sacrifice is

  463. sufficient. 1 Peter 2 and verse 24. Who

  464. his own self bear our sins in his own

  465. body on the tree that we being dead to

  466. sin should live unto righteousness by

  467. whose stripes we are healed. 2

  468. Corinthians 5 and verse 21. For he hath

  469. made to be sin. He made him to be sin

  470. for us who knew no sin that we might be

  471. made the righteousness of God in him.

  472. Could we say it very simply like this?

  473. Jesus paid it all. It's all finished.

  474. It's all paid for. The sacrifice was

  475. enough. There's no need for you and I to

  476. go and attempt to work our way to heaven

  477. or buy our salvation or do some good

  478. deed or get baptized or give money in an

  479. offering plate so that we can go to be

  480. with God so that we can pay for our

  481. sins. Two problems with that. First of

  482. all, it ain't going to work. There is no

  483. sacrifice. Even the sacrificial system

  484. in the Old Testament was insufficient.

  485. It was only temporary. So it doesn't

  486. matter what you do, you cannot redeem

  487. yourself. You're unable. God the father

  488. is so holy. He will not accept anything

  489. other than the perfect spotless lamb of

  490. his son. So there's nothing you can do

  491. to earn your way to heaven. That's the

  492. first problem. The second problem is

  493. Jesus has already paid the way. So why

  494. are you still working for it? Why are

  495. you still trying to earn something

  496. that's already been paid for? Jesus paid

  497. it all. So two little words in Psalm 110

  498. and verse one. Sit thou

  499. Messiah is seated. Why? Because God the

  500. Father has approved and accepted the

  501. sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. It has

  502. paid for the sins of the entire world.

  503. But notice what's next.

  504. He said, "Sit thou

  505. at my right hand.

  506. Sit thou is his posture. At my right

  507. hand is his place.

  508. It signifies his authority.

  509. The right hand was a place of

  510. significant honor, a place of prestige.

  511. Hebrew culture teaches us that the right

  512. hand was for an exalted position that

  513. showed power and might.

  514. And those things would contrast the

  515. weaker left side. So the right hand side

  516. was lifted up. It was a place of

  517. exaltation.

  518. And Jesus is seated because the work is

  519. approved. But he is seated at the right

  520. hand. This is the father declaring the

  521. sovereign rule of Jesus Christ. He is

  522. seated. That says his sacrifice is

  523. sufficient. But he is seated at the

  524. right hand. That tells us that his

  525. sovereignty is settled.

  526. Being at the right hand of the father,

  527. we see that Jesus holds all authority

  528. and all power. He is sovereign. He has

  529. all authority. He has all power. He has

  530. all control. He has all might. He has

  531. all oversight. He has all dominion. He

  532. has all command. He has all

  533. authorization. Jesus has all permission

  534. to do whatever he wants, whenever he

  535. wants, however he wants, with whoever he

  536. wants. And you and I have no place to

  537. question the sovereign hand of God. The

  538. seat at the right hand demonstrates that

  539. Jesus Christ is over all. All things

  540. were created by him and for him all

  541. things exist. The book of Colossians

  542. tells us Jesus is high and lifted up and

  543. exalted in his seat at the right hand.

  544. It signifies that God has given to Jesus

  545. all power. There is nothing that Jesus

  546. lacks. He is in full and complete

  547. sovereign control over the affairs of

  548. men.

  549. And so we see the Messiah

  550. sit thou prophetic at my right hand

  551. prophetic.

  552. And then notice the last phrase until I

  553. make thine enemies thy foottool.

  554. That is his preeminence. We see his

  555. posture. We see his place and then we

  556. notice his preeminence.

  557. It signifies that he is almighty.

  558. The terminology here communicates

  559. complete subjection.

  560. The foottool symbolizes an enemy who has

  561. been completely crushed and conquered.

  562. There's no hope of this enemy is

  563. completely crushed under the foot. He's

  564. completely conquered. He is underfoot.

  565. We have dominated.

  566. And God says to the Messiah, he

  567. prophesies of the Messiah, his son, that

  568. there will be a day when Jesus Christ

  569. will sit on the right hand until the

  570. enemies are crushed under his foot. Now,

  571. it's interesting. The first two

  572. prophecies, sit thou completed, right?

  573. Check. Jesus right now is seated at the

  574. right hand of God the Father. So, sit

  575. thou at the right hand. two prophecies

  576. that the sacrifice will be sufficient.

  577. Check it was. That the sovereignty is

  578. settled. Check. It is. But this third

  579. prophecy

  580. has not yet been completed. This one is

  581. still future for you and I this morning.

  582. Right now, yes, Jesus is sovereign over

  583. all. But right now, he has allowed the

  584. devil to have some slack in the chain.

  585. Yes, God controls everything that

  586. happens. Yes, God is above all. Yes,

  587. Jesus Christ is in control. He controls

  588. the governments. He controls the world.

  589. He's in charge of it all. But for a

  590. time, he has allowed Satan to be the

  591. prince and the power of the air. And the

  592. devil has some liberty right now. God

  593. granted liberty to work in this world.

  594. But there's coming a day when Jesus

  595. Christ

  596. will

  597. place his foot upon the neck of Satan

  598. and all of his demons and he will rule

  599. and reign in complete victory. His

  600. enemies will become his foottool. He

  601. will crush them. He will dominate them.

  602. Satan will be eternally expelled. And

  603. you and I will get to rule and reign

  604. with Christ forever and ever and ever

  605. and ever and ever and ever. This this

  606. statement, his enemies be his foottool,

  607. it it clarifies for us, it communicates

  608. to us that victory is certain. It may

  609. not look like we're going to win right

  610. now. It may not look like God's in

  611. control right now. It may not look like

  612. everything's going the way God planned

  613. it right now, but brothers and sisters,

  614. can I tell you this morning, Jesus is

  615. still in control. He's seated at the

  616. right hand of God the Father. He's

  617. ruling and he's reigning. He has all

  618. sovereignty. His sacrifice is

  619. sufficient. He has done everything he

  620. needed to do to pay for your sins, to

  621. pay for my sins. And now he rules and he

  622. reigns at the right hand of God the

  623. Father, awaiting the day when Almighty

  624. God looks at him and says, "Go ahead,

  625. son. Go get your bride." And Jesus is

  626. going to split. WOO! JESUS IS GOING TO

  627. SPLIT THE clouds and he's going to step

  628. out and he's going to call the church

  629. home and we're going to get to go up to

  630. glory. And then down come the trumpets

  631. and down come the judgments. The church

  632. goes up and the judgments come down and

  633. God begins the tribulation and he begins

  634. to pour out his his judgment and his

  635. wrath on a wicked world. And you and I

  636. will be seated around the marriage

  637. supper of the lamb. And we'll be

  638. glorifying and we'll be bowing before

  639. the throne. and we'll be casting th

  640. crowns at his feet and we'll be singing

  641. the praises of our savior and then we'll

  642. get to come back with him and they'll

  643. all be gathered waiting on him at the

  644. battle of Armageddon and they'll be

  645. saying we're going to win. We've got it.

  646. Look at this world. Look at the chaos

  647. we're in. We're finally going to win

  648. this and the old devil's going to be

  649. there awaiting and here comes the white

  650. horse out of heaven and behind King

  651. Jesus comes you and I wearing white

  652. robes. Heard a preacher say recently,

  653. "Why are we going to war when we're

  654. wearing white?" And the preacher said,

  655. "We ain't going to war. We're going to

  656. watch because we're coming behind Jesus.

  657. And as Jesus comes out of the clouds on

  658. his white horse, it's the word that

  659. comes out of his mouth and woof, it's

  660. done. It's finished. The enemies have

  661. become his foottool. And he will rule

  662. and reign forever and ever and ever and

  663. ever in all power. Thank you, Almighty

  664. God, for your goodness and your plan.

  665. Somebody needs to help me preach and

  666. give God praise this morning

  667. >> cuz I'm dying right now. Good night.

  668. Come on.

  669. Psalm 110.

  670. Verse number one. One simple verse.

  671. What a verse.

  672. No wonder it's quoted so often in the

  673. New Testament. Philippians chapter 2 10

    Philippians 2 chapter mention

  674. and 11 says it in this way. Wherefore

  675. God hath highly exalted him, and given

  676. him a name, that is above every name,

  677. that at the name of Jesus, every knee

  678. should bow, of things in heaven, of

  679. things in earth, of things under the

  680. earth, that every tongue should confess

  681. that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory

  682. of God the Father. Whatever you're going

  683. through right now, church, understand

  684. this. His sacrifice was sufficient. His

  685. sovereignty is settled and his victory

  686. is certain. He's coming back and you and

  687. I as the people of God this morning,

  688. we'll get to rule and reign with him for

  689. all of eternity. He came the first time

  690. as a baby in a manger.

  691. They crucified him. But he will come the

  692. next time as the king of glory. And he

  693. will put his enemies as his foottool.

  694. And all the evil and all the brokenness

  695. and all the pain and all the agony will

  696. be gone cuz King Jesus will be on the

  697. throne and he'll rule and reign forever.

  698. Would you stand with me this morning?

  699. She's going to play for just a moment.

  700. And while she plays, I'm going to invite

  701. you to just take a moment and talk to

  702. the Lord.

  703. Maybe you just need to recommmit and

  704. say, "Oh Lord, I've lost focus of who

  705. you are.

  706. Your position is so high and exalted.

  707. Lord, you are coming back and I want to

  708. live for you." Just recommmit right now.

  709. He's worthy of it all.

  710. Maybe you just need to say, "Thank you.

  711. Haven't said thank you, Lord, for all

  712. your goodness in a while. and you're so

  713. good. Right now, I just want to say

  714. thank you.

  715. Whatever you need to do while she plays,

  716. you take a moment. The altar's open if

  717. you want to come pray.
