  1. Take your Bibles and you can join me in

  2. the book of Revelation in chapter 20.

  3. Revelation in chapter 20

  4. and

  5. we're nearing the end of our study in

  6. the book of Revelation. This is the

  7. 34th message that I have on the book of

  8. Revelation now. So, message if you're

  9. counting, message number 34

  10. and we're nearing the end, almost done,

  11. a couple chapters left. I was going to

  12. do my best tonight to go all the way

  13. through the rest of chapter 20 and if we

  14. can do that, we will, but I'm not going

  15. to rush this because chapter 20 is

  16. extremely packed with information. And I

  17. do not want to overload us with too much

  18. information in one setting. And so,

  19. we're just going to kind of take it as

  20. it goes tonight. If we have to split

  21. split it into two, come back next week

  22. and finish it, that will be fine.

  23. Um

  24. but let's do this. Because we're getting

  25. near the end, I want to refresh our

  26. memory

  27. with the outline of the book and kind of

  28. where we're at in the the contents of

  29. the book of Revelation. So, let me give

  30. you the outline that I gave you at the

  31. beginning, right at the very beginning

  32. of the book. We uh

  33. I gave you this outline. It's a three

  34. The book has basically three sections

  35. and here's what they are. We've starting

  36. chapter one with the Christ and that is

  37. an examination of the Lord's person.

  38. We see Christ magnificence in the

  39. church.

  40. So, the Christ, chapter one. Then

  41. chapter two, we see the church. That's

  42. the Lord's people.

  43. That's the message of Christ to his

  44. church. And then in chapter four through

  45. chapter 22, the majority of the book, we

  46. see the consummation. That's the Lord's

  47. plan.

  48. The motivation from Christ to his

  49. church. And so, we see these the the

  50. three sections of the book really, the

  51. Christ, the church and then the

  52. consummation.

  53. And now I want you in the consummation,

  54. there's really three other sections. We

  55. have three major events, the tribulation

  56. period, the millennium, and then

  57. eternity future.

  58. When we come to chapter 20, we're going

  59. to really connect with the millennium,

  60. the battle of Gog and Magog, there's the

  61. the great white throne judgment seat. Uh

  62. so there's a lot that goes on in chapter

  63. 20 alone that has to do with this

  64. consummation, the Lord's plan, the end

  65. of of time.

  66. Here's a timeline of the book of

  67. Revelation. I'm going to give you this

  68. timeline of the book and then I'm going

  69. to give you a handout either next week

  70. or the week after. Before we conclude

  71. the book, I'm going to give you a

  72. handout with this timeline on it for you

  73. to fold up and put in the book of

  74. Revelation. So next time you read it,

  75. you'll be able to identify what's

  76. happening where. But I'll give it to you

  77. tonight.

  78. Revelation 1 through 3, chapter 1

  79. through 3 is the church age. That's

  80. present day. That's the letters to the

  81. churches.

  82. It concludes with the rapture of the

  83. church at the end of chapter 3,

  84. beginning of chapter 4. And Revelation 4

  85. and 5 is the church in heaven.

  86. The church is in heaven around the

  87. throne, we're worshiping Christ.

  88. Then Revelation chapter 6 through

    Revelation 6 chapter mention

  89. chapter 18 is the 7-year tribulation

  90. period.

  91. The 7 years of tribulation and that

  92. includes all of the the different uh

  93. judgments that come and God pours out

  94. his judgment on Earth.

  95. Chapter 6 through chapter 18 and then

  96. chapter 19 is Jesus' second coming and

  97. the battle of Armageddon.

  98. So in chapter 19, Jesus comes back at

  99. the end of the tribulation. We're coming

  100. back with him on those white horses and

  101. with the word of his mouth, our armies

  102. have gathered themselves together, Satan

  103. and the false prophet and all of them

  104. are there and with a word, Christ

  105. defeats them all. That's the battle of

  106. Armageddon and Christ will conclude

  107. he'll he'll to Satan uh and uh put him

  108. into the bottomless pit, and he sets up

  109. his millennial kingdom.

  110. In Revelation chapter 20, where we're at

    Revelation 20 chapter mention

  111. right now in our study, is the

  112. thousand-year reign of Christ, the

  113. millennium. We've studied that last

  114. week.

  115. Then tonight, we're going to see the

  116. loosing of Satan, the battle of Gog and

  117. Magog, and the great white throne

  118. judgment. All of that is included in

  119. Revelation chapter 20.

    Revelation 20 chapter mention

  120. And it concludes with the lake of fire,

  121. which is eternal torment for Satan and

  122. all of his father followers. That's the

  123. end of chapter 20.

  124. We'll see if we make it that far

  125. tonight. Then in Revelation 21 and 22,

  126. we see the new heaven and the new earth,

  127. and that's where the book concludes. So,

  128. I know that's a lot of information. If

  129. you didn't get it all, don't worry. I'm

  130. going to put it on a neat little format,

  131. on a neat piece of paper for you, all

  132. formatted out. So, you'll get it, but I

  133. wanted to kind of give it to you tonight

  134. just to to frame our minds and let us

  135. know, "Hey, we're getting near the end.

  136. This is what we have looked at so far."

  137. We have studied most all of that outline

  138. already. We've considered the church

  139. age. We've studied the letters to the

  140. seven churches. We've talked about the

  141. rapture of the church in chapter 4 and

  142. 5, the scenes there in heaven. We've

  143. spent a great deal of time on the

  144. tribulation period and all of the things

  145. that go along with that. And then more

  146. recently, we've looked at the second

  147. coming, the battle of Armageddon, last

  148. week the millennial reign of Christ. And

  149. tonight, we want to look at the loosing

  150. of Satan, the battle of Gog and Magog,

  151. and then if we have time, we may dive

  152. into the great white throne judgment

  153. just a little bit. So, Revelation 20 is

  154. loaded with end-time prophecies. It's

  155. loaded with all of this information

  156. about the end time. A lot of events take

  157. place in Revelation chapter 20. Let's

    Revelation 20 chapter mention

  158. read what we have not studied yet,

  159. beginning in chapter in chapter 20,

  160. verse 7. Revelation 20 and verse 7

  161. is where we left off last week, so let's

  162. pick up there. And when the thousand

  163. years are expired, that's the millennial

  164. reign of Christ. After he reigns for a

  165. thousand years, Satan shall be loosed

  166. out of his prison. We know that to be

  167. the bottomless pit from verse number one

  168. of this chapter.

  169. Verse eight, "And shall go out to

  170. deceive the nations which are in the

  171. four quarters of the earth, Gog and

  172. Magog, to gather them together to

  173. battle, the number of whom is as the

  174. sand of the sea.

  175. And they went up

  176. on the breadth of the earth and

  177. compassed the camp of the saints about,

  178. and the beloved city, and fire came down

  179. from God out of heaven, and devoured

  180. them. And the devil that deceived them

  181. was cast into the lake of fire and

  182. brimstone, where the beast and the false

  183. prophet are, and shall be tormented day

  184. and night forever and ever."

  185. "And I saw a great white throne, and him

  186. that sat on it, from whose face the

  187. earth and heaven fled away, and there

  188. was found no place for them.

  189. And I saw the dead, small and great,

  190. stand before God, and the books were

  191. opened, and another book was opened,

  192. which is the book of life.

  193. And the dead were judged out of those

  194. things which were written in the books

  195. according to their works. And the sea

  196. gave up the dead which were in it, and

  197. the death and hell delivered up the dead

  198. which were in them. And they were judged

  199. every man according to their works. And

  200. death and hell were cast into the lake

  201. of fire. This is the second death. And

  202. whosoever was not found written in the

  203. book of life was cast into the lake of

  204. fire." So, I'm going to divide the

  205. chapter the rest of our chapter, these

  206. verses that we just read, into two

  207. sections. Verse seven through 15.

  208. First, in verse seven through 10, we see

  209. the final judgment of Satan.

  210. In verse seven through 10, the final

  211. judgment of Satan. And then in verse 11

  212. through 15, the final judgment of the

  213. lost.

  214. We have the final judgment of Satan, and

  215. then the final judgment for the lost.

  216. The final judgement of Satan is what we

  217. would call, refer to as the battle of

  218. Gog and Magog.

  219. Let's break it down and walk through it

  220. and uh

  221. and then we'll go from there. So, in

  222. verse number seven, Satan is released.

  223. We mentioned this last week just

  224. briefly, but at the end of the

  225. thousand-year reign of Christ, at the

  226. end of the millennial kingdom,

  227. when it has been finished, that's the

  228. word that's used uh there in verse

  229. seven, that word that is

  230. in our translation it's expired. The

  231. word means finished or completed. So,

  232. when it is completed at when it has come

  233. to its

  234. uh conclusion,

  235. Satan is going to be released for a

  236. season of time to deceive the world

  237. again. And we asked this question last

  238. week, I'm going to ask it again this

  239. week and provide maybe a little more

  240. clarification on it.

  241. Why?

  242. Why would we let him loose? We've got

  243. him, he's locked up, he's in the

  244. bottomless pit, he's been there for a

  245. thousand years, and while he's been

  246. locked up, things have been pretty good.

  247. While Satan has been in the bottomless

  248. pit, uh things have been going very

  249. well. The kingdom of Christ, the

  250. millennial kingdom, there's uh there's

  251. peace all throughout the kingdom, that

  252. even between the animals and the and

  253. man, there's peace between us, there's

  254. uh people are living much longer, a

  255. hundred-year-old person is considered

  256. still a child, still a baby. People are

  257. living much longer now, there's no

  258. sickness in this kingdom of Christ, but

  259. most importantly, there is no influence

  260. of Satan or evil at all. Satan is locked

  261. away, there is no satanic influence in

  262. the world at all. Today, the world that

  263. you and I live in, Satan is walking

  264. about as a roaring lion seeking whom he

  265. may devour, but in that day, for those

  266. thousand years, there's no influence of

  267. Satan, there's no influence of evil in

  268. the world at all. So, why do we release

  269. him? I'm not just in In transparency,

  270. I'm not a hundred percent sure why. I

  271. really don't know. But, I have a couple

  272. of of a thoughts on it that I'll share

  273. with you. Here's my best answer to the

  274. question why.

  275. There will be people

  276. that will go into the tribulation period

  277. with their mortal bodies. You know what

  278. I mean by mortal bodies?

  279. That's the body that you and I have

  280. right now. You and I will not have our

  281. mortal mortal bodies anymore in the

  282. millennial kingdom. Because whether we

  283. die uh

  284. on this earth and go to heaven and

  285. receive our glorified bodies or if we're

  286. raptured out on the way up, we're going

  287. to get a glorified body. So, either way,

  288. you and I are going to have a glorified

  289. body when we come back with Christ. And

  290. we're going to be in the millennial

  291. kingdom in a glorified body, which I

  292. thought about this today as I was just

  293. thinking through this passage. One I

  294. think one of the greatest things about

  295. the millennial kingdom is that I'll be

  296. able to live and and work and have a

  297. good time and and fellowship with people

  298. and I will never have to worry not for a

  299. second about fighting my sin nature.

  300. Isn't that going to be a wonderful

  301. thing? I'll be able to live for a

  302. thousand years, but I'll have a

  303. glorified body. I won't have to think

  304. one time about a temptation or something

  305. my sin nature pulling me in a direction

  306. different than the Holy Spirit is

  307. directing me to go. I'll be able to live

  308. in harmony with Christ because of my

  309. glorified body. However, not everyone

  310. will have a glorified body.

  311. There will be people, I'm not sure how

  312. many, I may throw some numbers at you

  313. here, but there will There will be a

  314. group of people who make it through the

  315. end of the tribulation.

  316. They're not anyone who's alive today.

  317. I take that back. They're not any of the

  318. church that's alive today because the

  319. church is going to be raptured out.

  320. If the church is raptured out tonight

  321. and God takes all of the Christians on

  322. the planet home to heaven tonight, then

  323. we don't know how many, truly only God

  324. knows who's saved, but if we say, okay,

  325. let's say 500 million people leave

  326. tonight, that leaves about 8 billion

  327. people left on the earth.

  328. That would go through the tribulation

  329. period. Of those that go through the

  330. tribulation period, a large majority of

  331. them are going to die.

  332. Most of them will die without Christ.

  333. However, there will be witnesses on

  334. earth, there's going to be prophets on

  335. earth, their gospel is going to be being

  336. preached. In fact, we've studied it

  337. before, there's going to be an angel

  338. that flies over the earth preaching the

  339. gospel as he flies around the world, and

  340. we know people are going to be saved

  341. because of this gospel witness that's

  342. present during the tribulation. There

  343. will be people who turn to Christ. How

  344. many we we don't know.

  345. And of those that do turn to Christ,

  346. many of them will be martyred for their

  347. faith.

  348. There will be a group of people though

  349. who get saved in the tribulation, and

  350. they survive the tribulation, and they

  351. go into the millennial kingdom of Christ

  352. as a Christian, but still having their

  353. mortal bodies. Does this make sense?

  354. Seven years from now, the tribulation is

  355. only seven years long. So, if the

  356. rapture happened tonight, seven years

  357. from now

  358. would be the conclusion of it, the

  359. millennial kingdom would begin. And so,

  360. there would be a group of people who

  361. would have been saved, tribulation

  362. saints is what we call them, and they

  363. were protected by God, and they go into

  364. the millennial kingdom

  365. with their glorified bodies. I'm going

  366. somewhere with all this, okay?

  367. So, that group of people then are able

  368. to marry, in fact, they may already be

  369. married, and they're able to recreate or

  370. procreate.

  371. So,

  372. they're able to have children.

  373. Let me just give you an idea of how this

  374. might look.

  375. If

  376. 99%

  377. of the population on the world today

  378. dies

  379. between the rapture

  380. and the tribulation, the end of the

  381. tribulation, 99%. There's 8 and 1/2

  382. billion

  383. 500 million Christians are raptured, 8

  384. billion are left over the course of the

  385. tribulation and all of the things that

  386. take place. 99% of that 8 billion are

  387. are killed. You get to the end, less

  388. than 1% has survived. We're still

  389. talking about millions of people.

  390. At the very least, we're talking a

  391. hundreds of thousands of people.

  392. It's entirely possible that hundreds of

  393. thousands of people

  394. live through the tribulation period and

  395. go into the millennial kingdom of

  396. Christ.

  397. And I I

  398. If you want to discuss that further, we

  399. can. And I I'll I was looking today at

  400. all the numbers of it and and the

  401. tribulation tells us percentages, but it

  402. doesn't tell us numbers. So, at the end

  403. of the day, we're speculating.

  404. But if not more than 99% we could say 99

  405. and a half percent of all of the earth's

  406. population dies, then there's still

  407. going to be a thousands of people who

  408. will go into the tribulation in their

  409. mortal bodies. I'm answering a question.

  410. Are you with me still? Have I lost you

  411. yet?

  412. Those those people are going to have

  413. children.

  414. Those children are going to live a long

  415. time. And all they will ever know is the

  416. kingdom of Christ.

  417. They'll be born into the millennial

  418. kingdom

  419. in a mortal body. And they will live

  420. through that millennial kingdom in a

  421. mortal body. And all they will know is

  422. the peace and the tranquility and the

  423. wonderful kingdom of Christ.

  424. And they won't have an option to choose

  425. whether they want to serve Christ

  426. or whether they want to serve Satan.

  427. If a If a couple hundred thousand people

  428. go Let's Let's say 200, 300,000 people

  429. go into the millennial kingdom in their

  430. mortal bodies. At the end of a thousand

  431. years, people living much longer, then

  432. it's entirely possible that the

  433. population of the world at the end of

  434. the millennial kingdom far outnumbers

  435. the population of the world today by

  436. billions of people. So, 8 and a half

  437. billion today,

  438. it could be it would go up to 15, 20, 30

  439. billion people at the end of the

  440. millennium.

  441. Easy. Easy.

  442. So, Satan's going to be loosed. All of

  443. these people, billions and billions of

  444. people who have all they have known is

  445. the millennial kingdom of Christ. That's

  446. where they was live, that's what they

  447. grew up in, that's all they know, the

  448. millennial kingdom of Christ.

  449. And so, Satan's going to be loosed for a

  450. season.

  451. And when he is loosed, he is going to go

  452. right to work. He's not going to lose

  453. any time.

  454. And he's going to begin to deceive and

  455. convince all of these billions of people

  456. to turn against the kingdom of Christ.

  457. And all of these people that have lived

  458. in this perfect kingdom all of this time

  459. are going to have a choice.

  460. Just like Adam and Eve had a choice in

  461. the garden. You know, Adam and Eve in

  462. the garden, they could have sinned prior

  463. to Satan showing up,

  464. but they didn't even know it was an

  465. option

  466. until the devil showed up and started

  467. tempting them.

  468. And I think some that would be somewhat

  469. true, that's somewhat a picture of what

  470. will take place at the end of the

  471. millennial kingdom. Billions and

  472. billions of people and we're all living

  473. in this perfect kingdom. And then Satan

  474. will be loosed and he's going to provide

  475. a second option.

  476. He's going to say, "You You can turn

  477. against this. You can sin against this.

  478. You can rebel against this." And what

  479. happens is a mighty army raises up and

  480. turns against the kingdom of Christ,

  481. rebels against him, and decides that

  482. they're going to fight against him.

  483. So, that was a really long answer. And

  484. if if I rambled too much, I apologize.

  485. But, if that's verse seven, now look at

  486. verse eight.

  487. Thousand years expire, Satan is loosed

  488. out of prison, verse eight. And they

  489. shall He shall go out to deceive the

  490. nations which are in the four quarters

  491. of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather

  492. them together to battle, and the number

  493. of whom is as the sand of the sea.

  494. So,

  495. what what how many will turn against

  496. Christ?

  497. A lot. The sand of the sea. We're We're

  498. talking billions of people will turn and

  499. rebel against Christ uh during this

  500. loosing of Satan. He'll gather this army

  501. and the people will choose to follow

  502. him. Now, this is going to show us a

  503. couple things. You want to write down a

  504. couple of notes here. Here's three

  505. things that this

  506. turning away shows us in the millennial

  507. kingdom. First of all, it reveals to us

  508. the heart of man.

  509. The heart of of mortal man, the heart of

  510. flesh is desperately wicked.

  511. That's what Jeremiah 17:9 says, that the

    Jeremiah 17:9

  512. heart of man is desperately wicked and

  513. we see that

  514. uh in in this prophecy of what will

  515. happen at the end of the millennial

  516. kingdom. That even these people who have

  517. lived in a perfect kingdom, in Christ's

  518. kingdom, in perfect peace and and wonder

  519. and and and such amazement for a

  520. thousand years,

  521. when they are offered the option to

  522. rebel, they do. Billions and billions of

  523. them rebel against Christ. Okay, number

  524. two, not only does it show us the the

  525. heart of man is wicked, but it shows us

  526. that Satan is extremely powerful in his

  527. deception of man.

  528. The devil is extremely powerful.

  529. I would want to think, now this is not

  530. possible for me because I'll have a

  531. glorified body, but if I were able to

  532. have a mortal body and go through the

  533. millennial kingdom, I would hope that

  534. after living for hundreds of years in a

  535. perfect kingdom,

  536. at the temptation to change anything, I

  537. would say no, right? I would want to

  538. think that I would No, have you seen

  539. what glory there is, what splendor there

  540. is, what amazement I mean, this is

  541. perfect. This is This is a beautiful

  542. place, a utopia of sorts. I'm not

  543. changing anything. I'm not rebelling

  544. against our king, King Jesus.

  545. And yet,

  546. the devil is able to gather an army as

  547. the sand of the sea of people who rebel

  548. against Christ and his kingdom.

  549. And then, a third thing that it teaches

  550. us is that God is always faithful

  551. to provide mankind a choice.

  552. God has never forced anyone

  553. to follow him.

  554. And he never will.

  555. Mankind will get to choose

  556. who they will serve.

  557. What Joshua says at the end of the book

  558. of Joshua, he says, "As for me and my

  559. house, we will serve the Lord, but as

  560. for you, you're going to have to choose.

  561. Choose you this day whom you will

  562. serve."

  563. And it's a choice that every person has

  564. ever had to make, every person who's

  565. ever lived has had to make.

  566. God is faithful to provide mankind a

  567. choice. God is not looking for robots.

  568. He's looking for people who love him and

  569. who choose him and who receive him.

  570. So, that's verse 8, Satan's deception.

  571. Then verse 9, Satan is defeated.

  572. And they went up. Who is the they there?

  573. That's all of the the army of Satan.

  574. They went up the breadth of the earth

  575. and compassed the camp of the saints

  576. about and the beloved city. That's

  577. Jerusalem. That's where King Jesus is

  578. ruling from.

  579. The beloved city and fire came down from

  580. God out of heaven and devoured them. So,

  581. just as he did in the end of chapter 19,

  582. the battle of Armageddon, Satan has once

  583. again gathered all of the armies of the

  584. world together and they've surrounded

  585. the city of Jerusalem and they are ready

  586. to fight. The devil has come back ready

  587. to fight against uh Christ again, ready

  588. to fight against King Jesus again. And

  589. and Jesus allows them, Christ allows

  590. them to encircle the city and and gather

  591. together against him and and they're

  592. anticipating a great battle and a great

  593. war and there is no battle whatsoever.

  594. Fire comes down from heaven

  595. and consumes them, devours the armies of

  596. Satan in a moment. And just as the word

  597. of Christ defeated them at Armageddon,

  598. now the fire of God defeats them at this

  599. battle. This battle is commonly called

  600. the battle of Gog and Magog.

  601. This is the final defeat of Satan.

  602. And it's it's recorded for us in just a

  603. verse. Really, the defeat of Satan is

  604. recorded in only half a verse. I think

  605. there's some some implications there.

  606. It is not going to take much to defeat

  607. this guy.

  608. He thinks he's tough, and he thinks he's

  609. strong, and he thinks he's powerful, but

  610. just a little fire from heaven and he's

  611. done.

  612. He is no challenge for almighty God.

  613. Now, let me I know I'm teaching a lot

  614. tonight. I hope you're not bored with

  615. the Bible, but let me give you an

  616. important note to remember here. There's

  617. actually two battles in the Bible that

  618. are called the battle of Gog and Magog,

  619. and they're different.

  620. So, don't be confused. These are

  621. different events. Let me clarify for

  622. you.

  623. In Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39, there is a

    Ezekiel 38 chapter mention

  624. battle in which a coalition of nations

  625. surround and attack Israel. They attack

  626. primarily from the north.

  627. That battle in Ezekiel 38 and 39 is

  628. called the battle of Gog and Magog.

  629. Gog is identified usually identified as

  630. the leader. Magog is identified as his

  631. followers.

  632. And most conservative literal Bible

  633. scholars would agree that this battle

  634. takes place at the beginning of the

  635. tribulation.

  636. At the beginning of the tribulation.

  637. Where are we right now in Revelation

    Revelation 20 chapter mention

  638. chapter 20? We're past the end of the

  639. tribulation, past the end or at the end

  640. of the millennial kingdom. So, we're far

  641. removed from the beginning of the

  642. tribulation. So, the first battle of Gog

  643. and Magog is in Ezekiel 38 and 39.

  644. They attack from the north, and there's

  645. a quite a few details. If you go read

  646. that tonight, you read Ezekiel 38 39,

  647. look at the details of that battle, and

  648. then compare them to this battle, and

  649. there's quite a few differences that

  650. you'll be able to find. In this battle

  651. in Revelation 20 and verse 9, it

  652. mentions Gog and Magog, and it's

  653. commonly called the battle of Gog and

  654. Magog.

  655. This is the final rebellion of the world

  656. against God.

  657. Why does John call it the same name as

  658. Ezekiel 38 and 39

  659. if it's not the same battle? Well, I

  660. think it's probably that John is trying

  661. to use some way to describe this that

  662. will make sense to to the people to the

  663. people reading it. Ezekiel has already

  664. used this terminology logy

  665. of an army that surrounds Israel and

  666. attacks them from the north. And so

  667. John is going to borrow the phrase, if

  668. we could say that,

  669. Gog and Magog, and it's a He's pointing

  670. back to the previous battle. Ezekiel's

  671. battle of Gog and Magog then is a

  672. prophetic prototype of the final

  673. rebellion and defeat of the world

  674. against God.

  675. So, all that to say, if I can simplify

  676. it maybe for you, there's two Gogs and

  677. Magogs in the Bible.

  678. One will happen at the beginning of the

  679. tribulation when the world leaders of

  680. today will attack Israel. And we see

  681. some of that probably setting up for

  682. that to take place even today. When they

  683. will attack from the north,

  684. uh the these countries will attack the

  685. nation of Israel, and uh and God will

  686. protect them. Then there's a second Gog

  687. and Magog. That's Revelation 20:9.

    Revelation 20:9

  688. That's the final rebellion of mankind

  689. against God.

  690. And uh they don't attack from the north

  691. the second time. They have surrounded

  692. the beloved city, so they attack from

  693. all sides.

  694. And that's just one of the differences.

  695. There's several others that we could

  696. talk about.

  697. But this is if if you want the name for

  698. this, this is the battle of Gog and

  699. Magog. It's the final rebellion of of

  700. mankind against God, and it is the final

  701. judgment of Satan.

  702. So, then verse 10, Satan is destroyed.

  703. And the devil that deceived them was

  704. cast into the lake of fire and

  705. brimstone, where the beast and the false

  706. prophet are, and they shall be tormented

  707. day and night forever and ever. Let me

  708. give you this verse and then we'll be

  709. finished for this evening. The devil is

  710. cast into the lake of fire. So, God

  711. sends a consuming fire from heaven. The

  712. enemies of God are destroyed and Satan

  713. is cast into the lake of fire.

  714. And

  715. let's just make a clarification here

  716. here. This is not hell.

  717. Hell and the lake of fire are different

  718. places. Hell is actually going to be

  719. destroyed in verse number 14, which we

  720. read a moment ago. Death and hell are

  721. cast into the lake of fire.

  722. So, they're different places. Don't be

  723. confused by that. The lake of fire is

  724. going to be present for all of eternity

  725. and it is a place of permanent and

  726. perpetual torment.

  727. There is a false teaching that is being

  728. argued in in certain circles right now

  729. that

  730. um and there's different ways that they

  731. articulated. Essentially, people are

  732. arguing that when you go to hell, your

  733. soul burns up or when you go to the lake

  734. of fire, your soul burns up and you

  735. don't feel the pain of the torment of

  736. the lake of fire for all of eternity.

  737. You only feel it for a moment until your

  738. soul is is extinguished is a burnt up.

  739. That's not scripture. It's not Bible.

  740. The soul never dies. And so, whether

  741. you're saved or unsaved, your soul will

  742. live forever either in the presence of

  743. God or outside of the presence of God.

  744. And that's the choice that every person

  745. makes is where am I going to spend

  746. eternity? Will I spend eternity with God

  747. or without God? If without God, then you

  748. will spend eternity in the lake of fire.

  749. And notice one other note here. It says

  750. where the beast and the false prophet

  751. are. They're already there.

  752. Satan was thrown into the the bottomless

  753. pit.

  754. But the beast and the false prophet were

  755. thrown into the lake of fire a thousand

  756. years ago.

  757. At the at the end of the tribulation. In

  758. fact, look at Revelation 19. Just maybe

  759. a page over or across the page for you.

  760. Chapter 19 and verse number 20.

  761. And the beast was taken and with him the

  762. false prophet that wrought miracles

  763. before him with which he deceived them

  764. that had received the mark of the beast

  765. and them that worshiped the worshiped

  766. his image. These both were cast alive

  767. into the lake of fire burning with

  768. brimstone.

  769. And then we come to to chapter 20 and

  770. verse number 10, the devil that deceived

  771. them was cast into the lake of fire and

  772. brimstone where the beast and the false

  773. prophet are. So, they're already there.

  774. They've been there for a thousand years.

  775. Satan

  776. was not placed in that place of of

  777. eternal torment because God was going to

  778. release him for a season of time in

  779. order to deceive the world and and

  780. attack that final time at the battle of

  781. Gog and Magog. So, God has has got a

  782. plan through all of this.

  783. The beast and the false prophet thrown

  784. into the lake of fire after the battle

  785. of Armageddon.

  786. And Satan will be joining them a

  787. thousand years later or it could be more

  788. than a thousand years,

  789. but at least a thousand years later. And

  790. the reason I say it could be more is I'm

  791. not sure.

  792. Maybe I'll have to do more study on

  793. this, but I'm not sure how long the

  794. season is that he will be loosed

  795. in order to deceive people. It could be

  796. it could be quite a long time.

  797. Perhaps even thousands of years that the

  798. devil has

  799. to try and deceive people in that period

  800. of time between the millennial reign of

  801. Christ and the battle of Gog and Magog.

  802. If you have a good answer for that, you

  803. can let me know. I haven't looked into

  804. that, but uh

  805. we're we're not sure. I'm not sure

  806. exactly how long that would be.

  807. So, a lot of information tonight and a

  808. lot of teaching this evening. I hope

  809. that you are not too confused tonight

  810. after all of that, but I think that's

  811. enough for us to think about for now.

  812. And so, we'll leave it there and we'll

  813. come back next week and we'll finish

  814. this out with the great white throne

  815. judgment. And uh

  816. very interesting passage and how God is

  817. actually going to bring all of this to

  818. end and how he's going to conclude all

  819. of this

  820. and uh defeat evil and sin forever and

  821. ever and ever. Then we'll go into

  822. chapter 21 and 22 and we'll see the

  823. eternal state. What does God have for

  824. us?

  825. Remember, you and I, we're saved. We're

  826. the church. We're raptured out in

  827. chapter 4. We spend some time in heaven.

  828. We come back at the end of the

  829. tribulation. We rule and reign with

  830. Christ for a thousand years. And uh

  831. we're present there at the battle of Gog

  832. and Magog. We don't have to do anything.

  833. God takes care of the enemies. And uh

  834. then we enter the eternal state with the

  835. new Jerusalem, the new heaven, the new

  836. earth. And it's a glorious place. So,

  837. for the believer, the book of Revelation

  838. should bring much blessing and hope for

  839. you and I. Let's pray and let's thank

  840. the Lord for our time together tonight.

  841. Father, we love you and we thank you for

  842. the word of God.

  843. And Lord, thank you for the book of

  844. Revelation that it Lord explains these

  845. things to us. And Father,

  846. I pray you'd help us to do a good job at

  847. studying them.

  848. Lord, I pray that you would help us to

  849. study thoroughly and understand these

  850. things. You have said multiple times
