We thank you, Lord for yet another day. We thank
-
you for last night's rest and this morning to horizon.
-
And when we rose up, God, we were in our
-
right mind. We had a mind to come and serve
-
Your Lord. And praying for all of those today that
-
had a mind to serve You today. God, in the
-
name of Jesus, bless your holy name today, God, and
-
bless them with a word today they will strengthen them
-
and keep them. God, bless them who are there that
-
are not saved with a word that will turn their
-
hearts to You, Lord, and give their life to You.
-
Today too may be saved. And bless those who have
-
walked away and confused God and have gotten angry and
-
angry at the Church, not realizing it's not you they
-
angry with. But they're angry with the Church and You've
-
done nothing to them. So they need to come back
-
to You, who loved them and is more than willing
-
to accept them back and continue to strengthen the saints
-
of God. Today. God, we're living in the dangerous times.
-
We're living in times where focus is hard to hold
-
onto God, But with your help, all things are possible.
-
Help us, Holy Spirit, to hold onto this focus that
-
we will endure to the end, whatever and whenever that
-
end is, and that we shall be saved in Jesus' name.
-
I pray thank God, Amen and Amen. We talked about
-
Sunday before last. We talked about the power of prayer,
-
how to pray, and how our prayers met and how
-
it's not met. Amen. And then we talked about last Sunday,
-
avoid temptation to sin. Amen. So today we're going to
-
talk about the avoidance and how to avoid that. And
-
James in chapter one, starting in verse nineteen, these verses
-
speak about hearing and doing the word. Now, a lot
-
of people, people meaning folks in the body of Christ,
-
hear the word. There are people on the streets that
-
hear the word. People listening to radios hear the word.
-
People watching the television hear the word. But they're not
-
all doing what the word says. Do. Amen. And we
-
must understand hearing the word is not enough just to
-
hear it. So here in the Book of James, chapter nineteen,
-
it says, wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be
-
swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. Amen.
-
This is a key verse. Here in the express this
-
is three topics that James has developed here in this letter, hearing, speaking,
-
and doing amen. For the raft of man work it
-
not the righteousness of God. It does not produce the
-
wraft of man, does not produce God's righteousness. Wherefore, lay
-
apart all filthiness and super filthy of knoughtiness, and receive
-
with meekness the ingrafted Word, which is able to save
-
your soul. That's it. The Word is able to save
-
your soul. But be doers of the word and not
-
hearers only it is say, don't hear it, but just
-
don't only hear it. Be a doer. Deceive in your
-
own self. That's who you suceive. You don't deceive God.
-
I told you can't treat God, can't port the woold
-
have only per you deceiving is yourself. For if ity
-
be a hero of the word and not a doer,
-
he is liking to a man beholding his natural face
-
in a glass. You done observed yourself, and you've got
-
what you look like. For he beholded himself and goeth
-
his way and straightway. Forget it what manner a man
-
he was, But whoso looketh into the perfect law of
-
liberty and continue it therein he being not a forgetful hero,
-
but ada of the work. This man shall be blessed
-
in his deed. And now notice it didn't say a
-
doer of the word, a doer of the work, and
-
the work comes from the word. Amen. And this man,
-
it says, is blessed. Indeed, in whatever he he does,
-
he's blessed. Hey, man, that's what he's saying. And if
-
any man among you seem to be religious, so if
-
you think you're religious and bridles not his tongue, but
-
deceive his own heart, this man's religion is vain. In
-
other words, it's useless. Listen to me, good pure religion
-
and undefiled, pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father.
-
Is this? This is what it is to visit the
-
fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself
-
unspotted from the world. Okay, this is what true pure
-
religion is and undefiled. This is what it is before God.
-
All the other stuff thea aint pure before God. You
-
heard the Bible, right, it don't start out with nothing
-
but pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father.
-
Is this it's trying to tell you something and then
-
it tells you what it is to visit the fathers
-
and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted
-
from the world. And the only way to do that
-
is to be a doer, not just a hero of
-
his word. Amen, may be seated in the house of
-
the Lord. See he's speaking here in an ABC in
-
verse nineteen. And it does not mean that we are
-
to refrain from speaking. It ain't telling us that where
-
for my beloved brother. Let every man be swift to
-
here and slow to speak. It's not telling us to
-
refrain from speaking. But we are to be ready and
-
willing to listen. Yeh, hear what I said. A whole
-
lot of people hear things, but they ain't listening. See,
-
listening requires your attention. Hey man, they're hearing the word
-
of God, but they're not listening because it requires your attention.
-
And when you get your attention, that's what God trying
-
to do. You say it all the time, don't you
-
just said it back the Lord trying to get the Lord.
-
I hope the Lord got our attention. I hope the
-
Lord got their attention. It's your attention. The only way
-
to get your attention is you got to be listening.
-
And the only way you're gonna be listening, you gotta
-
first hear it says. It says quick to listen and
-
slow to speak. I was talking to a lady the
-
other day and she was just talking, sid man, ain't
-
what I'm talking about. See the Bible be swift to listen,
-
slow to speak. You're not even talking about what I'm
-
getting ready to tell you. I said, the Bible say
-
you make a shame of yourself, and she did, and
-
she smiled. She wasn't offinished. She took it and understood it.
-
She began to listen to what I was saying. Then
-
she knew she was going in the wrong direction, but
-
she began to talk before I could even tell her
-
what I'm talking about. So we have to be quick
-
to listen and slow to speak. See this should be
-
taken together as size of the same coin. Listen, quick
-
to listen size of the same coin, slowness and speaking
-
being speaking with humility and patience, not with haughty words
-
are non stop gabbing. Now, I practiced this because of
-
the gift that God has given me. Sometimes I say
-
a lot of times right, they don't need lying back.
-
I cut folk off in the conversation. But the reason why,
-
and I'm not saying the reason why is though I
-
have an excuse because I don't. But the reason why
-
I do that because a greater percentage of the time
-
God already revealed me what they gonna say, So I'm
-
having to have to learn the patience of waiting to
-
actually hear it. I already know what they're gonna say
-
a lot of times, and sometimes I might say something
-
and if it no not exactly that, so okay, now
-
I need to shut up so I can actually hear
-
it what's on their heart. But it takes it consists
-
of patience because if you can I say this all
-
the time, if you consistently talk, and they do too.
-
Who's so if you consistently talk, it keeps and it
-
also keeps a person from being able to hear you
-
gotta you gotta You ever see people that they don't
-
take a breath and you're waiting to get you you
-
You're patiently waiting, but at some point you you know
-
you have to you just cut them off so you
-
don't lose your thought. Whole lot of people you need
-
a pad and a pencil to talk to because they
-
don't breathe, so we got to be able to hear.
-
The person has to be able to hear you. Because
-
wisdom is not always having something to say, Hey man,
-
it involves listening. Wisdom involves listening very carefully to those
-
that are speaking to you and speaking quietly to them. Amen.
-
Because when we talk too much and listen too little,
-
we communicate to others that we think our ideas and
-
what we're saying are much more important than theirs. If
-
somebody ever call you on the phone, it happened to me.
-
I don't know about job, but I'm smiling because I'm
-
sure it has. You don't call somebody. You got a
-
concern and you need to talk to somebody, and you
-
start talking to them and they tell you all they
-
problems and you never even got to tell them what
-
you call for. I'm just saying slow to anger. You see,
-
anger closes our minds to God's truth. That's why we
-
have to be slow to anger, because it will close
-
your mind to God's truth. I tell people all the time,
-
we get upset and we get we get out of content,
-
out of character real and that's because in that anger,
-
we forget what God tells us to do aymen, and
-
so we go, and we we be angry and sin
-
instead of what God says, be angry and sin not.
-
Proverbs thirteen and three tells us he that keepeth his
-
mouth keepeth his life, but he that opened wide his
-
lips shall have destruction. This is Proverbs. And then Proverbs
-
also tells us in the tenth chapter that was thirteen
-
and three, and in ten and nineteen it tells us
-
that as righteousness tendeth to life, so he that pursueth
-
even pursued it to his own debt. And seventeen and
-
twenty eight tells us that means you just can't shut up.
-
Seventeen and verse twenty eight tells us, thank you Lord
-
that even listen to this. This is how to just
-
help you. This right her just really how to help you.
-
It says, even a fool, even a fool, when he
-
holdeth his peace keep silence, is counted wise. Even when
-
a fool, when he hold his peace, shut his mouth
-
and listen, he's counted to be He's a fool when
-
he counted to be wise at that time, hey man,
-
And he that shut at his lips is esteemed a
-
man of understanding. Hey man, got one more for you,
-
Gonna help you, help you listen, listen more, help me
-
listen more. Thank you Lord. Be quiet, even though I
-
may know, be quiet and just listen to the whole man.
-
Seeing thou a man that is haughty in his words, words, words, words,
-
not just words, but words. It's more hope. Here we
-
go again. You ain't gonna like this, you know. It's
-
more hope of a fool than of him. Yeah. So,
-
so when injustice comes upon us and sin occurs, we
-
should become We should become angry when we are unjustly done,
-
and when injustice comes up on us, and when injustice
-
come upon us and folks sin against us. Yes, we
-
should be angry because others are being hurt, not just
-
when we see injustice upon ourselves, when we see injustice
-
upon other people. Yeah, we ought to be hurt. Why
-
Because Jesus Christ is hurt. He has compassion for that,
-
and if we have him, we should be too. See.
-
That's thing we really got to understand about all of
-
this is that knowing that when we have him, all
-
of this stuff applicable to him should be applicable to us.
-
When you see people being being rude to other people.
-
We should feel some kind of compassion for the both
-
of them, not just the one, not just the victim,
-
but also the other one. We're more angry at the
-
drunk driver and have no compassion for him, but pray
-
for the one he hurt. What a drunk driver got
-
a demon? We should have some compassion for him. He's
-
demon possessed. Yeah, he raped that little girl, he killed
-
that baby, But we Jesus still has compassion for that murderer.
-
That pediphier. Kind of hard to take in and kind
-
of hard to take. Take a little compassion for them. Man,
-
I was watching those cases where criminals had no compassion, uh,
-
show no remorse. These are true stories, and when I
-
was watching it, I don't know why the judge allows us.
-
It does no good. They allowed the family to take
-
the podium and the ladies, I hope you're burning rotten
-
hell for what you did to my child. And I'll
-
never I listened to the world forgive you. You know
-
it's gonna happen to her. I'm saying, that's the reason
-
why that you have to have that compassion for them,
-
for both of them. And then they tried to sell
-
all of them. It ran away from that poem to
-
get to them. Two brothers got to that one guy
-
they were trying. They were beating them down in the court.
-
They beat them down through the courtroom floor, and the
-
babies fell and got them.
-
Off of them.
-
Because that blind and can't see, they can't recognize. I
-
put my own self in that position when I'm watching this,
-
What would I do? You got to you got what
-
would you do? Hopefully, prayerfully you would do what Jesus?
-
Did you see Jesus retaliating when they were beating the
-
crap out of him. He could have they they didn't
-
have the power to hold him to that post and
-
beat him. They didn't have the power to lay him down,
-
nail him to that cross. They didn't have the power
-
to do it. They didn't have the power to do that.
-
He could have retaliated. He didn't even have to retaliate it.
-
He didn't have to go if he didn't want too.
-
But he had to go because he had to. If
-
you understand what I'm saying, he didn't have a power.
-
They didn't have the power to do it. Think how
-
fust the fun Think how fuss That's why the angels
-
say they don't know. That's why the angels say they
-
don't understand why God is so mindful of us. The
-
angels was on attack mode when they was with when
-
what they was doing to the Savior, they were on
-
a tack mode. All Jesus had to do was hit,
-
and they would have took out the whole place. The
-
Bible declass one angel, and he said ten thousand angels
-
was up their weight. One angel can destroy nation. You
-
ain't what I said. I ain't say a neighborhood. I
-
ain't say your house. I said a nation. If he
-
wanted to, he allowed it to be so, and then said,
-
forgive them, for they know not what they do. He
-
didn't say sentenced them to hell. He didn't say I'll
-
never forgive them for what they've done to me. He
-
didn't say that. See, that's why you gotta be swiftly listening,
-
slow to speak, so you can understand how God operates,
-
and so you can operate the same way he operates.
-
Because when you claiming he's in you, and you don't
-
act like He would have you to act, you a liar.
-
You're a liar. I hold makeup because we have listened
-
swiftly and heard the word of God. It's supposed to
-
cause us to be doers of the word, doers of
-
the words. Do what y'all getting this, doueers of Jesus Christ.
-
Let me put it like that. He's our example. He
-
showed us even in trials and affliction. He showed us
-
how to act. He retaliated on the cross. He didn't
-
retaliate before he got to the cross. He didn't retaliate
-
when they took him back and forth, trying to make
-
and pally, trying to find away to get rid of.
-
And then when he thought he did, because of the
-
customer tradition, it's still backfired on him and even his
-
wife and a dream told him, man, don't you have
-
nothing to do with that man? And he symbolized by
-
washing his hands. I already know how powerful you are,
-
but I really don't want nothing to do with it.
-
You see me washing my hands, don't you. I'm gonna
-
leave it up to his people, And they chose the thief,
-
the robber. So we have to take a note from
-
Jesus Christ. Slow to anger. He didn't say we couldn't
-
be angry, but he said be angry. He even said
-
be angry but seeing not, Amen, Because situations, circumstances is
-
gonna come upon us. We're gonna see people committing injustice.
-
We're gonna even to us, and and and wrongful judgment
-
and sinning against us. But we're not. But we are
-
not to become angry when we fail, because we're gonna
-
fail to win the people. Amen, angry as far as
-
unto sining. Amen, we should not become angry when we
-
fail to win an argument. While are you upset because
-
you lost argument? You should be upset to the point
-
where gone somewhere. You know what we do. We should
-
not be to the We should not be even when
-
we feel offended, because the joy of the Lord is
-
our strength. See. Gotta remember the word. When things happen,
-
it brings you own back around. See. These are the
-
things that bring you all around and cause you to
-
be angry for saying not because you know who you
-
are and you know who's working in you. Huh. I
-
might get offended, but I'm good. You hear what I'm saying.
-
I might get offended, but I'm good. Humans gonna get offended,
-
spirit gonna be, but I'm good. Ah work with me
-
because self anger never help anybody, Hey, man self anger,
-
let me help you, Let me help you, Let me
-
help you. I don't want to just say nothing in it.
-
In the word of God, God has said it. Ecclesiastic
-
says the Book of Ecclesiastics, chapter seven, verse nine. Be
-
not hasty in thy spirit. They talk about your spirit,
-
that's your flesh, because it's the spirit that's been dealt with.
-
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry, for
-
anger rest is in the bosom of fools. And the
-
word is again it rests. I say that rest. It
-
has a home in the bosom of a fool. It
-
should not live in you that way. It should not
-
rest in you that way. But in the bosom of
-
a fool it has a resting place. Now, if you're
-
a fool, I understand, right, mm hmm. What we're not done.
-
Ephesians chapter four, verse twenty six says, be angry and
-
sin not. God spoke this in Psalms four. So this
-
in the Old Testament and the New. Amen, let not
-
the sun go down upon your wrath. Amen, you got
-
to come to You got to conclude this thing before
-
the sun goes down. Amen. You know why you gotta
-
conclude this thing before the sun go down, cause if
-
you go to sleep, you can die in that anger.
-
You can die that angle. You better get that thing
-
take care of. Amen, something might get upset. And I
-
wonder if you conclusion of this thing because I'm gad
-
to go to sleep. I actually think like that, because
-
I don't want to live and not that now. In
-
Matthew five and twenty one, Jesus says, listen to what
-
he says. You have heard. You ain't got no excuse now,
-
because Jesus said you have heard that it was sad.
-
He said, listen, you have heard. In other words, he's
-
talking to these daygone nation of Israel, telling them they
-
have heard. But here's what he tell them. They have heard,
-
and this is because we have read this before. We've
-
heard it too. So in other words, they was without excuse,
-
and where without excuse? Hey man, that's the point he's
-
getting to. When he said you have heard, he letting
-
you know. You won't have an excuse because you didn't
-
heard it. It was sad by them the world and
-
the not understanding Jews of old time. Thuy shall not kill,
-
and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of judgment. Amen.
-
Then He goes on to say, but I say unto
-
you that whosoever's angry with his brother without a cause
-
shall be in danger of the judgment. And whosoever shall
-
say to his brother raca racer, what does raca mean?
-
Empty racer? What is rackerman? That means you empty headed?
-
Shall be in danger of the counsel. But whosoever shall
-
say thy food shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore,
-
if thy bring thy guilt to the altar, yeah, I
-
better hear this. That's why these people in those courtrooms
-
that I was watching, they did that, and they probably
-
never will, some of them. Therefore, if thy bring thy
-
guilt to the altar and their memories that thy brother
-
had aught against thee you got something against you, leave
-
there thy gift before the altar. Drop it off, Get
-
on down, go handle your business, and then go thy way. First,
-
be reconciled to thy brother. You gotta do that first,
-
and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thy
-
adversary quickly while there art in the way with him.
-
Least at any time the adversary deliveredy to the judge,
-
and the judge deliveredy to the officer, and thy be
-
cast into prison. Don't kill all doing all that argument fairly,
-
I saying to thee, thy shall by no means come
-
out tense till thy has paid the outhermost frightening. He
-
ain't coming out of it until you paid the price
-
of forgiveness and forgiving. Amen, come out of your anger. Amen. Amen.
-
Because James says and one and twenty for the wrath
-
of man work it not the righteousness of God. So
-
man's wrath does not produce. See, man's wrath has something
-
that it does produce, but it does not produce the
-
righteousness of God. But God the anger will produce the
-
righteousness of God. You see, God ain't telling us not
-
to be angry. As a matter of fact, he's us
-
out and says, be ye angry. He has to you
-
know what, because Jesus is in you and he's angry.
-
God is angry, so there's no way God will tell
-
you not to do something that he do that ain't right.
-
So he said, be angry, but do what I do
-
when you do get angry. Sining not See, most folks
-
would have said Jesus was sinning when he went to
-
the temple and got angry and turned over the money
-
changes tables and kicked the folks up out. That was
-
called a righteous anger. It was a righteous anger, Amen,
-
because they was out of order. See, man's wrath don't
-
produce the righteousness of God, but man's anger the results
-
in it results in thoughtlessness. Get some anger. You ain't
-
thinking about nothing, Just do it. Thoughtlessness, uncontrolled temper and
-
leads to hash heart felt words. When you get heart
-
failed you son of a biscuit, eating you mL just
-
leads to heartfelt word. Get the so and so if
-
you heart felt words and those things can never make
-
it right in the sight of God. Never. Uncontrolled anger
-
is not consistent with Jesus' command to love our enemies.
-
It's not consistent with that, okay, man, For Jesus Christ
-
tells us to love our enemies. Ah, but we have
-
a hard time being a doer of what we heard. Amen, Somebody,
-
he still gotta be ader of that word. You can't
-
just pick and choose what you want to be a
-
doer of. You can't be You can't pick and choose.
-
You gotta be a doer of all. That's much called
-
obedience to the word. Of obedience to some of the
-
word of God. No obedience to the word of God.
-
Jesus says, you have heard that it had been said. Again.
-
You heard what they said, Thou shall love thy neighbor.
-
This is what they said. This ain't what I said.
-
But this is what they said. He said. They said,
-
love your neighbor and hate that enemy. That's what they said.
-
That ain't what I said. I'm saying that a lot
-
because I want to make it quite clear, because it's
-
wrote here in the Bible. Some people can take that
-
out of content and missed the part where he said,
-
I didn't say that. He said, that's what they said.
-
They don't read. They're talking about Jesus can hate your enemy. No,
-
he said, that's what they said. Jesus say that. This
-
is what Jesus said. He said, But I say, now
-
you know he said it right in verse forty four,
-
he said, But I say, now you know he said,
-
But in first forty three he said, this is when
-
you have heard what they had said. But I say,
-
unto you, love your enemy, bless them? What love them? Man?
-
Bless them? Hold on? Is he the right? He's the
-
right one? These ain't just love him? But he said
-
he said to love them and bless them. That curse
-
you do good to them that hate do what? Do
-
good to them that hate you? Y'all holding on to
-
y'all seat.
-
This is called being a door and not just a hero.
-
Can we do it? Can we do what we have heard?
-
Can we love them? Bless them? Huh? And then do
-
good to them that hate us? And then we gotta
-
turn around and do something else. We gotta turn around
-
and pray for them, which spikefully, I said, spikeefully, they spitefully,
-
they period feel spitefully use you. Oh so.
-
I gotta do all this to somebody that'll use me
-
up like toilet paper. Oh and then I gotta do
-
one more thing that they do to me.
-
I gotta do the same thing to them that persecute me.
-
Y'all still want to be a doer? You might not
-
be able to help being a hero, But do you
-
still want to be a doer? My God? And he
-
ain't through, He ain't do because he goes on to
-
saying forty five that you may this is why you
-
gotta do all this, that you hear that ye might
-
be the children of your father, that you might be
-
sons and daughters. Being a doer causes you to be
-
sons and daughters. A doer of all that you heard
-
him say, causes you to be a son and a
-
daughter of your father, which is in heaven. For he
-
maketh his son to rise on the evil and on
-
the good. He ain't talking about to ask so any
-
talking about that you in right here, He talking about
-
that's you in rising, not the s o in. He
-
make it the su in to rise on the evil
-
and on the good, and send it rain on the
-
just and on the unjust. He rain on everybody the
-
sun he allows to shine on everybody. For if you
-
love them, this is what you liking them too. For
-
if you love them, which love you? You know how
-
we got a partners and stuff. What reward have you?
-
What got reward? You got because you love somebody love you?
-
What got the reward? Is that? That's even do not
-
even the Republicans the same? Don't the sinners do the
-
same thing. They do the same thing. You doing the
-
same thing the sinner do. There's no difference between you
-
and them, then, huh. In other words, God's saying right here,
-
they gotta be a difference. Your love can't be like theirs.
-
Your love be like mine, because their love is not
-
like mine. Don't even they only love them that love them,
-
hang out with them that would hang out with them,
-
do good to them that do good to them, hate
-
those that hate them. You ain't doing no different than
-
of heathen doing if you're doing it like that. He
-
told us to love them the enemy, loved them to
-
curse us. Love them that despitefully use us and abuse
-
us and persecute us. Love them. And then he said,
-
bless them and do good to them. Don't you realize
-
those folks that was persecuting Jesus, he did good to
-
them because he went to the cross for them too.
-
Don't you know that he said, bless them. Jesus blessed
-
them that persecuted him because he went to the cross
-
for them too. Now you understand while he says, bury
-
your cross daily. Huh, you understand this. You understand that
-
now bury your cross daily. You need their cross to remember.
-
He wasn't done, he says, And if you salute your brethren,
-
only what do you more than others? Do not? Even
-
the sinners do? Also the Republicans. But here's what you did.
-
Be ye there for perfect there it is. Did you
-
hear that? This is all the folks talking about I
-
ain't perfect. I'm telling the people of God, be ye
-
there for perfect. That's Jesus speaking to you and me
-
even as your father, which is having its perfect. In
-
other words, when you're a hero, to really become a doer,
-
you must mature in the word of God. That's what
-
perfect means. You're mature. You run around here thinking you
-
one hundred. I can't be one hundred. He asked you
-
to be one hunded. He said, be perfect. You used
-
to cuss him out one time, didn't he Huh, You
-
don't cuss them out no more. Guess what happened right there?
-
You got perfect? Amen? Amen. So that's why he tells
-
us lay apart all filthiness and super flutey of knaughtiness
-
and receive meekness, the in grafted words, which is able
-
to save your soul. Why well, because progress in our
-
spiritual lives cannot occur unless we see sin for what
-
it is. This is why he's saying that it's like
-
getting rid of our evil habits and actions like stripping
-
off dirty clothes, and we need to humble, humbly accept
-
the message of God humbly, not like some folks I've
-
given the word. You mean I can't do nothing. You're
-
not humbly accepting the word of God. Day, But I'm
-
just saying I love them. M you're out order. You're
-
not humbly accepting the word of God. You have not
-
stripped off your dirty clothes. Amen. You have to humbly
-
accept the message of God. Because the unplanet word is
-
strong enough to save our soul. The implanet word is
-
strong enough to save our soul. And trials and temptation
-
cannot decede us if we are applying God's word to
-
our life. Notice I said it can't defeat us if
-
we applying God's word. There is another side to that.
-
Defeat can come if you're not applying God's word. Hey man,
-
but be ye doers of the word, not heroes only
-
just even only yourself. In other words, reading and studying
-
God's word does not perfect us. If we don't obeen.
-
You can read it, feel good about it, study it,
-
feel great about it. But if you don't do it,
-
you're gonna be mad about it. You're gonna be mad
-
about it. We don't listen to the word just to
-
know it. There are those that do. There are those
-
that study the word so they can impress people. They
-
know exactly the scripture and the verse and the chapter.
-
They can pronounce the word, that can articulate the word
-
only to in rest other people. That's not why we
-
read the word. Hey man. We don't listen to the
-
word just to know it, but also to do it.
-
We would be fooling ourselves. Are you listening to me
-
about knowledge of scripture? If that's all it is to
-
it is just reading it, articulating, proclaiming it, and not
-
doing it, we will be fooling ourselves. Amen. God's word
-
can only grow in the soul of obedience. You see.
-
It ain't just the fertile ground that the seed goes
-
in and makes it grow. It's the obedience to the
-
word that causes it to grow. And when it grows,
-
that's a sign that is causing you to mature in
-
the word of God and to be obedient to the
-
word of God. Amen. In other words, for a listener
-
to make a difference in a student's life, it must
-
enter the heart and mind affecting their life. So just
-
because you read this, it's got to enter into your
-
heart and be rooted and grounded and planet, which will
-
cause you to have the obedience to God's word. So
-
it's important, very important for us to hear God's word,
-
but it's much more important to obey God's word. See,
-
you can hear the word of God, and you know
-
when you hear it the most when you're reading it,
-
not right now because I'm speaking it. You hear it
-
a greater a rim when you're reading it. So, because
-
when you're reading it, you also can hear it. I
-
suggest the people a lot of times when they're studying
-
or reading the word of God, to speak out loud,
-
like you said, in a reading you should read. Uh,
-
but be ye doers of the word and not hearers
-
only what happens right there. You're not just a seer,
-
but you're also a hearer because you're reading, and the
-
word of God is speaking to you in your in
-
your physical ear, going down in your spiritual ear amen,
-
which gets into your spiritual soul, which gets into your heart,
-
and should cause an effect on you to be obedient
-
to God's word because you come to understand how important
-
obedience to God's word is. So it's not so much
-
so important to hear a word as it is to
-
obey the word, because you can. You can you can
-
measure the effectiveness of Bible study time. Are Sunday school time?
-
Are your study time? By the guess what? Guess what?
-
Guess what? Guess what you're ready for? It is you're
-
ready by the effect it has on your behavior and attitude.
-
This is how you can tell. You can tell about
-
your own study. You go to Bible study, study in
-
your home or Sunday school or hear the word of
-
God and your own study and you study, you gonna
-
make it. Tell the effect you have on you a boy,
-
your own behavior and your own your own behavior and
-
your own attitude. Is this word really directed me on
-
the path of righteousness? Yes? It is? Whatever I really
-
on that path? I can't answer that that according to
-
your behavior and your attitude. Because do you put it
-
into action what you have studied. That's how you can tell.
-
Have you put it into action what you study? Because
-
believe you me, when you study the Word of God,
-
it may come quick, it may come slow, But whatever
-
you study coming to you, it's gonna come to you.
-
I mean it's gonna come to you in the physicalness
-
of the world. You and man I just study that.
-
Why it happened For if any be a hero of
-
the word and not a duer, he is liking to
-
a man beholding his natural face in a mirror, for
-
he beholds himself. Go with this way and straightway? Forget it?
-
What maunt of a man? He is. The one who
-
listens and does nothing, is like a man who glances
-
at his face in a mirror and then forgets what
-
he saw. A like people who take a casual look
-
at God's word without letting it affect their lives. That's
-
what it's like. You done read the word. You don't
-
study the word, but you did not allow it to
-
affect your life. Because you see, God's mirror is unique.
-
It ain't like the one in your bathroom, in your bedroom.
-
You know what this mirror, His mirror is different. His
-
mirror shows you your see see your mirror, it only
-
shows you a reflection of yourself. But God's mirror, it's different.
-
It shows you the inner native of yourself. The inner
-
native of yourself is what is, what you are, who
-
you are. It shows you your nature. God's mirror shows
-
your true nature. The mirror in your bathroom shows you
-
reflection of yourself. You don't even see yourself you see
-
a reflection. But God's word shows you you in the
-
same way that a mirror in your bathroom a bedroom
-
shows you your external features. God's mirror shows you your inside,
-
who you really are. But both mirrors show a reflection
-
of what's there. Hey man. But whoso looking into the
-
perfect law of liberty and continue there nb he being
-
not a forgetful hear of it is a law of
-
liberty because it's free. That's why liberty means free from
-
the principles of sin and death. This is what Jesus
-
gave us. People who look steady and study, study with
-
serious attention, and then make God's law their chosen lifestyle.
-
They study with close attention, not only once, but continuously.
-
See a serious man and woman of God studies continuously,
-
hey man. And as a result of them studying continuously,
-
they remember. Somebody say, remember God's words, and they remember it,
-
and they also do what it says. This law sets
-
people free because it's only in obeying God's law that
-
true freedom can be found, hey man. Only in obeying
-
God's word can true feed freedom. Be y'all have to
-
listen to stay whitness, Stay whitness, stay whipness. This is
-
a learning experience. Amen, stay whn ive seen some of
-
your eyes pop open to some of the stuff. I said,
-
it's a learning experience. John chapter eight and thirty one.
-
He tells us that John chapter eighteen thirty one. Then said,
-
Jesus to those Jews which believe on him, if you continue.
-
I paused right there, because the last word I wanted
-
to sink in if you continue, if take that, take that,
-
take that word too, if that's conditional. If you don't,
-
you will see the opposite of if you do. If
-
you continue, are you abiding it? Lay in it? A
-
bast in it? He said, in my word, then are
-
ye my disciples? Indeed, in other words, ain't no doubt
-
in my mind who you are? If you abide in it,
-
bast in it, there is no doubt in my mind
-
who you are. And ye shall know the truth. Because
-
when you continue in it, you abide in it, you
-
gonna know the truth. And guess what the truth gonna
-
be do? The truth shall make the truth shall make
-
you free. That's what's gonna happen if you abide in it,
-
if you basting it. And God will bless those who
-
look steady at his word. Do what it says, don't
-
forget what they have heard and obeyed, Because see a
-
whole lot of people like It's like a man that
-
looks in the mirror and walks away and forget what
-
he looks like. Because what they do as they listened
-
to the word, they heard the word, they and all
-
of that. But guess what happens after they heard it?
-
They walk away and forget what it says. Do they
-
walk away and forget what it can do? See, they
-
don't just walk away and forget what it does. They
-
walk away and forget. If they walk away and forget
-
what it said it can do and what it does do,
-
that's mean why they crying? They forgot what God's word says? God, Lord,
-
what we're gonna do, Jesus, they gonna gas pricious this
-
food and gone up. You don't forgot what word God's
-
word saying. God's words not contention on what man do.
-
It's what God does. Lord. They're talking about cutting this
-
and cutting that. But God didn't cut his promises. They're
-
still here. God has not I cut his promises. But
-
we must be continuously seeking his faith. And when we
-
do that, the results will show the proof of God's
-
promise you got head, I said, when we consistently seek
-
the word of God and doing and obeying God's word,
-
God's word will result in the promises that He has
-
promised each and every one of us. The law sets
-
people free because it is only in obeying God, only
-
in obeying God, that true freedom can be found. Amen.
-
And if we claim, aw, it's a lot of claiming
-
out there. Aw, it's a lot of claim I asked, folks.
-
Sometimes you heard me say this man, do you say
-
I've been baptized? Did he answer my question? Deep? I said,
-
have you been saved as you you've been baptized? And
-
if you've been baptized and you ain't saved, you ain't
-
been baptized. You just took a swimming lesson. You just
-
you probably got your bath you ain't took in two
-
three weeks because you ain't seen no water in the wire.
-
But you ain't been baptized, because you first must be
-
saved before you can be baptized. What you mean, precia,
-
The Bible says, be saved. The Bible says be saved,
-
and baptizing the name of Jesus Christ. What came first?
-
It is say be baptized and be saved in the
-
name of Jesus Christ. It said, be saved and be
-
baptizing the name of Jesus Christ. So if we claim
-
to be religious but don't control our tongue, we are
-
just fooling our own selves. People will know whether or
-
not our faith is real. It's about what we choose
-
to talk about and the way we speak. I told
-
you a long time ago, all folks that do open
-
up their mouth, and you gonna know what you need
-
to know about it. For the most fucker, just let
-
them keep talking. You gonna know where they stand, you
-
gonna know how they live. Just let them keep talking.
-
They gonna act out the very thing they singing. You'll
-
be able to tell by the way they acting, by
-
the way they speak. And we cannot be obeedn if
-
we cannot control our mouths noice. James talks about that mouth.
-
The tongue is an unruler member of our body. Think
-
about a big old ship. It got a little rudder
-
behind that turns that big old ship. That's how your
-
tongue is, turns that big old brain to yours. It
-
cause your big old brain to speak out of your
-
big old mouth. So if we cannot control our mouths,
-
and it is a self, the self to have religious
-
practices that do not lead to an ethical lifestyle. A
-
tongue leads us to a dishonor in our life. Amen,
-
our tongue dishonors God. When we gossip, have angry outburst
-
harsh criticism. Here come one. You ain't gonna like that.
-
Your tongue dishonors God, complaining and wrongful judgment. Our verbal
-
action speak louder than our religious rituals. Let me help y'all.
-
Our tongue the thing you got in your mouth. Everybody
-
in here got one. I pray everybody listening got one.
-
It dishonorts God when we gossip, not when we praise him,
-
but I praise can dishonor Him. If we ain't right
-
in our spirit. But we're talking about the tongue, it
-
will dishonor God when we gossip. It Just y'all, hear
-
what I'm saying. It dishonors God. God is the one
-
who wants to dishonor God. That's what I thought. When
-
we gossip. When we have angry outbursts, harsh criticism, harsh
-
criticism ain't bad harsh criticism is bad. Angry outbursts are
-
not even bad. Angry outburst at least the sin is bad.
-
I gotta show you both sides. A man complaining complain
-
it ain't bad, but it's bad when you're complaining to
-
a extent that you don't trust God wrong for judgment.
-
Judgment ain't bad. Only judgment bad is judgment that you
-
judge wrongfully. See our verbal verbal actions. When you speak,
-
people know what you're thinking about. It speaks louder than
-
our religious rituals. You know how you walking around with them?
-
Hold you carrying your bales? Ain't saying the word people
-
looking at you and you perceive in your mind, I
-
know they believe I'm saving Holy Yeah you do. No,
-
soon you open your mouth, they gonna know you carrying
-
their bibles? A lie, real deal. Our verbal actions speak
-
louder than our religious rituals. Amen. Amen. So the lesson
-
today is not only just hear God's word, not only
-
listen to God's words, but be a doer of God's word.
-
And if you're a duel then you are an obedient
-
child of God. Amen. Amen, Thank you Jesus, I'm done.
-
I wanted you to hear those things that can be
-
challenging to each and every one of us, because a
-
doer is not as easy as we think. See, we
-
think about being a doer. Be nice, be good, go
-
to church, study your word, love the Lord, love everybody.
-
But see, a doer also has to love his enemies.
-
Love the one that persecutes you, the one that talks
-
about you, the one that does wrong, the one that
-
lies on you a door. Is the one that has
-
to love them that deceitfully uses and abuses you. That's
-
a doer. See, we don't think about that part of
-
the door. We think about the nice, comfortable stuff we
-
can lay our hand on, the soft pillar. Huh a door.
-
When the man cuts you off and trashic cut you
-
off and give you the finger, yeah, cut you off
-
and talk crazy than you, that's a doer that just
-
gets angry. Yeah you're gonna get angry. But seeing not.
-
Sometimes I've seen people. People are cutting me off. I say,
-
dirty bastard. Then I have to say love forget me.
-
I'm just saying that flesher jump up in. Now that
-
flesh knows you well. Don't you ever think it? Don't
-
it knows you well? And don't you ever think it's
-
They say you got to kill the flash. They say
-
you got to kill the flash. You got to kill it. Y'ah.
-
Are y'all hearing what I'm saying. So, don't you just
-
think it's dead cause you done killed it? Once it
-
comes back. Amen. Amen, we're standing
