  1. Zechariah Zechariah one. In the eighth month in the second

  2. year of Darias, the word of the Lord came to

  3. the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berekiah, son of Ido, saying.

  4. The Lord was very angry with your fathers. Therefore say

  5. to them, thus declares the Lord of Hosts. Return to me,

  6. says the Lord of Hosts, and I will return to you,

  7. says the Lord of Hosts. Do not be like your fathers,

  8. to whom the former prophets cried out. Thus says the

  9. Lord of Hosts, return from your evil ways and from

  10. your evil deeds. But they did not hear or pay

  11. attention to me, declares the Lord. Your fathers, where are they?

  12. And the prophets do they live for? But my words

  13. and my statues which I commanded my servants the prophets,

  14. did they not overtake your father's. So they repented and said.

  15. As the Lord of Hosts purpose to deal with us

  16. for our ways and deeds, so has he dealt with us.

  17. On the twenty fourth day of the eleventh month, which

  18. is the month of Shebad, in the second year of Darias,

  19. the word of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah,

  20. the son of Berekiah, son of Iddo, saying, I saw.

  21. In the night, and behold a man riding on a

  22. red horse. He was standing among the myrtle trees in

  23. the glen, and behind him were red sorrel and white horses.

  24. And I said, what are these? My Lord? The Angel

  25. who talked with me said to me, I will show

  26. you what they are. So the man who is standing

  27. among the myrtle trees answered.

  28. These are they whom the Lord is said to patrol

  29. the earth.

  30. And they answered the Angel of the Lord, who was

  31. standing among the myrtle trees, and said.

  32. We have patrolled the earth, and behold all the earth

  33. remains at rest.

  34. Then the Angel of the Lord said, O, Lord of Hosts,

  35. how long will you have no mercy on Jerusalem and

  36. the cities of Judah, against which you have been angry

  37. these seventy years. And the Lord answered gracious and comforting

  38. words to the angel who talked with me.

  39. So the Angel who talked with me said to me,

  40. cry out, Thus says the Lord of Hosts, I am

  41. exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion, and I am

  42. exceedingly angry with the nations that are at ease, for

  43. while I was angry, but a little they further the disaster.

  44. Therefore, that says the Lord, I have returned to Jerusalem

  45. with mercy.

  46. My house shall be built in it, declares the Lord

  47. of Hosts.

  48. And the measuring lines shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.

  49. Cry.

  50. And again, thus says the Lord of Hosts, My city

  51. shall again overflow with prosperity. And the Lord will again

  52. comfort Zion, and again choose Jerusalem.

  53. And I lifted my eyes and saw and behold four horns.

  54. And I said to the Angel who talked with me,

  55. what are these?

  56. And he said to me, these are the horns that

  57. have scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.

  58. Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen, and I said,

  59. what are these coming to do?

  60. He said, these are the horns that scattered Judah so

  61. that no one raised his head.

  62. And these have come to terrify them, to cast down

  63. the horns of the nations, who lifted up their horns

  64. against the land of Judah to scatter it.

  65. Zechariah too.

  66. And I lifted my eyes and saw and behold a

  67. man with a measuring line in his hand. Then I said,

  68. where are you going? And he said to me to

  69. measure Jerusalem, to see what is it's with and what

  70. is its lengthy? And behold, the angel who talked with

  71. me came forward, and another angel came forward to meet him,

  72. and said to him.

  73. Run, say to that young man.

  74. Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, because of

  75. the multitude of people and livestock in it.

  76. And I will be to her a wall of fire

  77. all around.

  78. Declared there's the Lord, and I will be the glory

  79. in her midst of up Flee from the land of

  80. the north.

  81. Declares the Lord.

  82. For I have spread you abroad as the four winds

  83. of the heavens, declares the Lord of Escape to Zion.

  84. You well with the daughter of Babylon.

  85. For thus said the Lord of Hosts, after his glory

  86. sent me to the nations who plundered you. For he

  87. who touches you touches the apple.

  88. Of his arm.

  89. Behold, and I will shake my hand over them, and

  90. they shall become plunder for those who serve them.

  91. Then you will know that the Lord of Hosts has

  92. sent me.

  93. Sing and rejoice, O, daughter of Zion, for behold I come,

  94. and I will dwell in your.

  95. Midst, declares the Lord.

  96. And many nations shall join.

  97. Themselves to the Lord and that day and.

  98. Shall be my people. And I will dwell in your midst.

  99. And you shall know that the Lord of Hosts has

  100. sent me to you. And the Lord will inherit Judah

  101. as his portion in the Holy lad and will again

  102. choose Jerusalem. Be silent, all flesh before the Lord, for

  103. he has roused himself from his holy dweller.

  104. Zechariah three.

  105. Then he showed me Joshua, the high Priest, standing before

  106. the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his

  107. right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, the.

  108. Lord rebuke you, o Satan, the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem,

  109. rebuke you.

  110. Is not this a brand pluck from the fire.

  111. Now Joshua was standing before the Angel, clothed with filthy garments.

  112. And the Angel said to those who were standing before.

  113. Him, remove the filthy garments from him.

  114. And to him he said.

  115. Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and

  116. I will clothe you with pure vestments.

  117. And I said, let them put a clean turban on

  118. his head. So they put a clean turban on his head,

  119. and clothed him with garments, and the Angel of the

  120. Lord was standing by. And the Angel of the Lord

  121. solemnly assured Joshua.

  122. Thus, as the Lord of Hosts, if you will walk

  123. in my ways and keep my charge, then you shall

  124. rule my house and have charge of my courts. And

  125. I will give you the right of access among those

  126. who are standing here here Now, Oh Joshua, the High Priest,

  127. you and your friends who sit before you, for they

  128. are men who are a signed.

  129. Behold, I will bring my servant the branch.

  130. For behold on the stone that I have set before Joshua,

  131. on a single stone with seven eyes, I will engrave

  132. its inscription, declares the Lord of Posts. And I will

  133. remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.

  134. And that day, declares the Lord of Hosts.

  135. Every one of you will invite his neighbor to come

  136. under his vine and under his fig tree.

  137. Zechariah four.

  138. And the angel who talked with me came again and

  139. woke me like a man who is awakened out of

  140. his sleep. And he said to me, what do you see?

  141. I said, I see, and behold a lamp stand all

  142. of gold, with a ball on the top of it,

  143. and seven lamps on it, with seven lips on each

  144. of the lamps that are on the top of it.

  145. And there are two olive trees by it, one on

  146. the right of the bull and the other on its left.

  147. I said to the angel who talked to me, what

  148. are these, my Lord? Then the angel who talked with

  149. me answered and said.

  150. To me, do you not know what these are?

  151. I said, no, my Lord.

  152. Then he said to me, this is the word of

  153. the Lord to Serubbable, not by might nor by power,

  154. but by my spirit, says the Lord of Hosts, Who

  155. are you, o great mountain?

  156. Before Zerubible, you shall become a plain, and he shall

  157. bring forward the top stone amid shouts of grace grace

  158. to it.

  159. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

  160. the hands of Zerobabel have laid the foundation of this house.

  161. His hands shall also complete it. Then you will know

  162. that the Lord of Hosts has sent me to you.

  163. For whoever has despised the day of small things shall

  164. rejoice and shall see the plumb line in the hand

  165. of Zerobabel. These seven are the eyes of the Lord,

  166. which ranged through the whole earth. Then I said to him,

  167. what are these two olive trees on the right and

  168. the left of the lampstand. And a second time I

  169. answered and said to him, what are these two branches

  170. of the olive trees which are beside the two golden

  171. pipes from which the golden oil is poured out.

  172. He said to me, do you not know what these are?

  173. I said, no, my lord. Then he said, these.

  174. Are the two anointed ones who stand by the Lord

  175. of the whole earth.

  176. Zechariah five.

  177. Again I lifted my eyes and saw and behold a

  178. flying scroll.

  179. And he said to me, what do you see?

  180. I answered, I see a flying scroll. Its length is

  181. twenty cubits, and it's with ten cubans. Then he said

  182. to me, this is.

  183. The curse that goes out over the face of the

  184. whole land. For everyone who steals shall be cleaned out

  185. according to what is on one side, and everyone who

  186. swears falsely shall be cleaned out according to what is

  187. on the other side. I will send it out, declares

  188. the Lord of Hosts. And it shall enter the house

  189. of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely.

  190. By my name, and it shall remain in his house.

  191. And consume it.

  192. Both timber and stones.

  193. Then the angel who talked with me came forward and

  194. said to me, lift your.

  195. Eyes and see what this is that is going out.

  196. And I said, what is it?

  197. He said, this is the basket that is going out.

  198. And he said, this is their iniquity in all the land.

  199. And behold, the leaden cover was lifted, and there was

  200. a woman sitting in the basket.

  201. He said, this is wickedness.

  202. And he thrust her back into the basket and thrust

  203. down the leaden weight on its opening. Then I lifted

  204. my eyes and saw and behold two women coming forward.

  205. The wind was in their wings. They had wings like

  206. the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the

  207. basket between Earth and Heaven. Then I said to the

  208. angel who talked to me, where are they taking the basket?

  209. He said to me to the land of Shinar to

  210. build a house for it. And when this is prepared,

  211. they will set the basket down there on its base.

  212. Zechariah six.

  213. Again I lifted my eyes and saw and behold four

  214. chariots came out from between two mountains, and the mountains

  215. were mountains of bronze. The first chariot had red horses,

  216. the second black horses, the third white horses, and the

  217. fourth chariot dappled horses, all of them strong. Then and

  218. said to the angel who talked with me, what are these,

  219. my Lord? And the angel answered and said to me,

  220. these are.

  221. Going out to the four winds of heaven, after presenting

  222. themselves before the Lord of all the earth. The chariot

  223. with the black horses goes toward the north country. The

  224. white ones go after them, and the dappled ones go

  225. toward the south country.

  226. When the strong horses came out, they were impatient to

  227. go and patrol the earth, and he said.

  228. Go patrol the earth.

  229. So they've patrolled the earth. Then he cried to.

  230. Me, behold, those who go toward the north country have

  231. set my spirit at rest in the north country.

  232. And the word of the Lord came to me.

  233. Take from the exiles Heldai, Tobaija and Jadea, who have

  234. arrived from Babylon, and go the same day to the

  235. house of Josiah, the son of Zephaniah.

  236. Take from them silver and gold.

  237. And make a crown and set it on the head

  238. of Joshua, the Senate Jehuzadad the high Priest, and say to.

  239. Him thus says the Lord of Hosts, Behold the man

  240. whose name is the branch, for he shall ranch out

  241. from his place, and he shall build the temple of

  242. the Lord. It is he who shall build the temple

  243. of the Lord, and shall bear royal honor, and shall

  244. sit and rule on his throne. And there shall be

  245. a priest on his throne, and the council of peace

  246. shall be between them both, and the crown shall be

  247. in the temple of the Lord. As a reminder to Healim,

  248. to Bijah, to Deaa, and him the son of Zephaniah,

  249. and those who are far off shall come and help

  250. to build the temple of the Lord. And you shall

  251. know that the Lord of Hosts has sent me to you.

  252. This shall come to pass if you will diligently obey

  253. the voice of the Lord, your God.

  254. Zechariah seven of it. In the fourth year of King Darias,

  255. the word of the Lord came to Zechariah on the

  256. fourth day of the ninth month, which is Kislev. Now

  257. the people of Bethel had sent Sharizar and Rigamlik and

  258. their men to intreat the favor of the Lord, saying

  259. to the priests of the House of the Lord of

  260. Hosts and the prophets.

  261. Should I weep and abstain in the fifth month, as

  262. I have done for so many years.

  263. Then the word of the Lord of Hosts came to me.

  264. Say to all the people of the land and the priests,

  265. when you fasted and mourned in the fifth month and

  266. in the seventh these seventy years, was it for me

  267. that you fasted? And when you eat and when you drink,

  268. do you not eat for yourselves and drink for yourselves?

  269. Were not these the words of the Lord proclaimed by

  270. the former prophets. When Jerusalem was inhabited and prosperous, with

  271. her cities around her, and the south and the lowland

  272. were inhabited.

  273. And the word of the Lord came to Zechariah saying.

  274. Thus, says the Lord of Hosts, render true judgments, Show

  275. kindness and mercy to one another. Do not oppress the widow,

  276. the fatherless, the sojourny, or the poor. Let none of

  277. you devise evil against another in your heart. But they

  278. refused to pay attention, and turned a stubborn shoulder and

  279. stopped their ears that they might not hear. They made

  280. their hearts diamond hard lest they should hear the law

  281. and the words that the Lord of Hosts had sent

  282. by his spirit to the former prophets. Therefore, great anger

  283. came from the Lord of Hosts.

  284. As I called, and they would not hear.

  285. So they called, and I would not hear, says the

  286. Lord of Hosts. And I scattered them with a whirlwind

  287. among all the nations that they had not known. Thus

  288. the land they left was desolate, so that no one

  289. went to and fro and the pleasant land was made desolate.

  290. Zechariah ate, and.

  291. The word of the Lord of Hosts came saying, Thus

  292. says the Lord of Hosts, I am jealous for Zion

  293. with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with

  294. great wrath. Thus says the Lord, I have returned to

  295. Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And

  296. Jerusalem shall be called the Faithful City, and the mountain

  297. of the Lord of Hosts the Holy Mountain, Thus says

  298. the Lord of Hosts. Old men and old women shall

  299. again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff

  300. in hand because of great age, and the streets of

  301. the city shall be full of boys and girls playing

  302. in its streets. Thus says the Lord of Hosts. If

  303. it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of

  304. this people in those days, should it also be marvelous

  305. in my sight, declares the Lord of Hosts. Thus says

  306. the Lord of Hosts. Behold, I will save my people

  307. from the east country and from the west country, and

  308. I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusale,

  309. and they shall be my people, and I will be

  310. their God in faithfulness and in righteousness, Thus says the

  311. Lord of Hosts. Let your hands be strong, you who

  312. in these days have been hearing these words from the

  313. mouth of the prophets, who were present on the day

  314. that the foundation of the House of the Lord of

  315. Hosts was laid that the temple might be built. For

  316. before those days, there was no wage for man, or

  317. any wage for beast. Neither was there any safety from

  318. the foe for him who went out or came in.

  319. For I set every man against his neighbor. But now

  320. I will not deal with the remnant of this people

  321. as in the former days, declares the Lord of Hosts.

  322. For there shall be a sowing of peace. The vine

  323. shall give its fruit, and the ground shall it's produce,

  324. and the heavens shall give their doom, and I will

  325. cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.

  326. And as you have been a byword of cursing among

  327. the nations, O, House of Judah and House of Israel,

  328. so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing.

  329. Fear not, but let your hands be strong, For thus

  330. says the Lord of Hosts. As I purpose to bring

  331. disaster to you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath,

  332. and I did not relent, says the Lord of Hosts.

  333. So again have I purposed in these days to bring

  334. good to Jerusalem and to the House of Judah. Fear not.

  335. These are the things that you shall do. Speak the

  336. truth to one another, render in your gates judgments that

  337. are true, and make for peace. Do not devise evil

  338. in your hearts against one another. And love no false oath.

  339. For all these things I hate, declares the Lord. And

  340. the word of the Lord of Hosts came to me saying,

  341. thus says the Lord of Hosts, the fast of the

  342. fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the

  343. fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth

  344. shall be to the House of Judah. Seasons of joy

  345. and gladness and cheerful feasts. Therefore, love, truth and peace,

  346. thus says the Lord of Hosts. People shall yet come,

  347. even the inhabitants of many cities. The inhabitants of one

  348. city shall go to another, saying, let us go at

  349. once to entreat the favor of the Lord, and to

  350. seek the Lord of Hosts. I myself am going. Many

  351. peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord

  352. of Hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of

  353. the Lord, Thus says the Lord of Hosts. In those days,

  354. ten men from the nations of every tunnel shall take

  355. hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, let us

  356. go with you, for we have heard that God is

  357. with you.

  358. Zechariah nine.

  359. The burden of the word of the Lord is against

  360. the land of Hadrak, and Damascus is its resting place.

  361. If the Lord has an eye on mankind, and on

  362. all the tribes of Israel, and on Heymath also which

  363. borders on it, Tire inside it, though they are very wise.

  364. Tire has built herself a rampart and heaped up silver

  365. like dust, and find gold like the mud of the streets.

  366. But behold the Lord will strip her of her possessions

  367. and strike down her power on the sea, and she

  368. shall be devoured by fire. Ashgalon shall see it and

  369. be afraid. Gaza too, and shall writhe in anguish Ekron. Also,

  370. because its hopes are confounding, the king shall perish from Gaza.

  371. Ashkelen shall be uninhabited. A mixed people shall dwell in Ashdod.

  372. And I will cut off the pride of Felistia. I

  373. will take away its blood from its mouth and its

  374. abominations from between its teeth. It too shall be a

  375. remnant for our God. It shall be like a clan

  376. in Judah, and Ekron shall be like the Jebusites. Then

  377. I will encamp at my house as a guard, so

  378. that none shall march too and fro No oppressor shall

  379. again march over them. For now I see with my

  380. own eyes. Rejoice greatly, O, daughter of Zion, Shout aloud, O,

  381. daughter of Jerusalem. Behold, your king is coming to you,

  382. righteous and having salvation. Is he humble and mounted on

  383. a donkey, on a colt, the full of a donkey.

  384. I will cut off the chariot from Ephrael, and the

  385. war horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be

  386. cut off, and he shall speak peace to the nations.

  387. His rule shall be from sea to sea, and from

  388. the river to the ends of the earth. As for you, also,

  389. because of the blood of my covenant with you, I

  390. will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit. Return

  391. to your stronghold, oh prisoners of hope. Today I did

  392. declare that I will restore to you to double For

  393. I have bent Judah as my bow. I have made

  394. ephraeim its arrow. I will stir up your son's ozion

  395. against your sons o Greece, and wield you like a

  396. warrior's sword. Then the Lord will appear over them, and

  397. his arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord God

  398. will sound the trumpet and will march forth in the

  399. whirlwinds of the south. The Lord of Hosts will protect them,

  400. and they shall devour and tread down the sling stones,

  401. and they shall drink and roar as if drunk with wine,

  402. and be full like a bull drenched like the corners

  403. of the altar. On that day, the Lord their God

  404. will save them as the flock of his people, For

  405. like the jewels of the Crown, they shall shine on

  406. his land. For how great is his goodness, and how

  407. great his beauty. Grain shall make the young men flourish

  408. and new wine. The young women.

  409. Zechariah ten.

  410. Ask rain from the Lord, and the season of the spring.

  411. Rain from the Lord who makes the storm clouds, and

  412. he will give them showers of rain to everyone. The

  413. vegetation in the field. For the household gods utter nonsense,

  414. and the diviners see lies. They tell false dreams and

  415. give empty consolation. Therefore the people wander like shoot. They

  416. are afflicted for lack of a shepherd.

  417. My anger is hot against the shepherds. And I will

  418. place the lead.

  419. For the Lord of Hostess cares for his flock, the

  420. house of Judah, and will make them like his majestic

  421. steed in battle. From him shall come the cornerstone, from him,

  422. the tent peg, from him, the battle bow. From him,

  423. every ruler, all of them together, they shall be like

  424. mighty men in battle, trampling the foe in the mud

  425. of the streets. They shall fight because the Lord is

  426. with them, and they shall put to shame the riders

  427. on horses.

  428. I will strengthen the House of Judah, and I will

  429. save the House of Joseph.

  430. I will bring them back, because I have the passion

  431. in them, and.

  432. They shall be as though I had not rejected them.

  433. For I am the Lord their God, and I will

  434. answer them.

  435. Then Driem shall become like a mighty warrior, and their

  436. hearts shall be glad as with wine. Their children shall

  437. see it and be glad. Their hearts shall rejoice in

  438. the Lord. I will whistle for them and gather them then,

  439. for I have redeemed them, and they shall be as

  440. many as they were before. Though I scattered them among

  441. the nations, yet in far countries, they shall remember me,

  442. and with their children they shall.

  443. Live and return.

  444. I will bring them home from the land of Egypt,

  445. and gather them from Assyria. And I will bring them

  446. to the land of Bilid and to Lebanon, till there

  447. is no room for them.

  448. He shall pass through the Sea of Troubles and strike

  449. down the waves of the sea, and all the depths

  450. of the Nile shall be dried up. The pride of

  451. Assyria shall be laid low, and the scepter of Egypt

  452. shall depart. I will make them strong in the Lord,

  453. and they shall walk in his name, declares the Lord.

  454. Zechariah. Eleven.

  455. Open your doors, o Lebanon, that the fire may devour

  456. your cedars. Whil Oh Cyprus, for the cedar has fallen,

  457. for the glorious trees who ruined, whil oakservation, for the

  458. thick forest has been felled. The sound of the wail

  459. of the shepherds, for their glory is ruined. The sound

  460. of the roar of the lions, for the thicket of

  461. the Jordan is ruined. Thus said the Lord my God,

  462. become shepherd of the flock doomed to slaughter those who

  463. buy them, slaughter them and go unpunished, and those who

  464. seldom say blessed be the Lord. I have become rich,

  465. and their own shepherds have no pity on them. Where

  466. I will no longer have pity on the inhabitants of

  467. this land, declares the Lord. Behold, I will cause each

  468. of them to fall into the hand of his neighbor,

  469. and each into the hand of his key, and they

  470. shall crush the land, and I will deliver none from

  471. their hand. So I became the shepherd of the flock

  472. doomed to be slaughtered by the sheep traders. And I

  473. took two staffs. One I named Favor, the other I

  474. named Union, and I tended the sheep. In one month,

  475. I destroyed the three shepherds, but I became impatient with them,

  476. and they also detested me. So I said, I will

  477. not be your shepherd. What is to die, let it die,

  478. what is to be destroyed, Let it be destroyed, and

  479. let those who are left devour the flesh of one another.

  480. And I took my staff favor, and I broke it,

  481. annulling the covenant that I'd made with all the peoples.

  482. So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep traders,

  483. who were watching me, knew that it was the word

  484. of the Lord. Then I said to them, if it

  485. seems good to you, give me my wages, but if not,

  486. keep them. And they weighed out as my wages thirty

  487. pieces of silver. Then the Lord said to.

  488. Me, throw it to the potter.

  489. The lordly price at which I was priced by them.

  490. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw

  491. them into the house of the Lord to the potter.

  492. Then I broke my second staff union, annulling the brotherhood

  493. between Judah and Israel. Then the Lord said to me,

  494. take once more the equipment of a foolish shepherd for Behold,

  495. I am raising up in the land a shepherd who

  496. does not care for those being destroyed, or seek the young,

  497. or heal the mand or nourish the healthy, but devours

  498. the flesh of the fat ones, tearing off even their

  499. hoofs Woe to my worthless shepherd who deserts the flock.

  500. May the sword strike his arm and his right eye.

  501. Let his arm be holy withered, his right eye utterly blinded.

  502. Zechariah twelve. The burden of the word of the Lord

  503. concerning ISRAELI.

  504. Thus declares the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and

  505. founded the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him. Behold,

  506. I am about to make Yourerusalem a cup of staggering

  507. to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will

  508. also be against Judah. On that day I will make

  509. Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who

  510. lift it will surely hurt themselves, and all the nations

  511. of the earth will gather against it. On that day,

  512. declares the Lord, I will strike every horse with panic

  513. and its rider with madness. But for the sake of

  514. the house of Judah, I will keep my eyes open

  515. when I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.

  516. Then the clans of Judah shall say to themselves, the

  517. inhabitants of Jerusalem have strength through the Lord of Hosts,

  518. their God. On that day I will make the clans

  519. of Judah like a blazing pot in the midst of wood,

  520. like a flaming torch among sheaves, and they shall devour

  521. to the right and to the left all the surrounding peoples,

  522. while Jerusalem shall again be inhabited in its place in Jerusalem,

  523. and the Lord will give salvation to the tents of Judah. First,

  524. that the glory of the House of David and the

  525. glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not surpass that

  526. of Judah. On that day, the Lord will protect the

  527. inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them on

  528. that day shall be like David, and the House of

  529. David shall be like God, like the Angel of the

  530. Lord going before them. And on that day I will

  531. seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

  532. And I will pour out on the House of David

  533. and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and

  534. please for mercy, so that when they look on me

  535. on him whom they have pierced. They shall mourn for

  536. him as for an only child, and weep bitterly over him,

  537. as one weeps over a first born. On that day,

  538. the morning in Jerusalem will be as great as the

  539. mourning for hey Dad remen in the plain of Megiddo.

  540. The land shall mourn each family by itself, the family

  541. of the House of David by itself, and their wives

  542. by themselves. The family of the House of Nathan by itself,

  543. and their wives by themselves. The family of the House

  544. of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves. The

  545. family of the Schimiites by itself, and their wives by themselves.

  546. And all the families that are left, each by itself

  547. and their wives by themselves.

  548. Zechariah thirteen.

  549. On that day there shall be a fountain open for

  550. the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to

  551. cleanse them from sin and uncleanness. And on that day

  552. declares the Lord of Hosts, I will cut off the

  553. names of the idols from the land, so that they

  554. shall be remembered no more. And also I will remove

  555. from the land the prophets and the spirit of uncleanness,

  556. and if anyone again prophesies, his father and mother who

  557. bore him, will say to him, you shall not live,

  558. for you speak lies in the name of the Lord,

  559. and his father and mother who bore him, shall pierce

  560. him through when he prophesies. On that day, every prophet

  561. will be ashamed of his vision. When he prophesies, he

  562. will not put on a hairy cloak in order to decede,

  563. but he will say, I am no prophet. I am

  564. a worker of the soil. For a man sold me

  565. in my youth. And if one asks himply, what are

  566. these wounds on your back, he will say, the wounds

  567. I received in the house of my friends. Awake, O

  568. sword against my shepherd, against the man who stands next

  569. to me, declares the Lord of Hosts. Strike the shepherd,

  570. and the sheep will be scattered. I will turn my

  571. hand against the little ones in the whole land, declares

  572. the Lord. Two thirds shall be cut off and perish,

  573. and one third shall be left alive. And I will

  574. put this third into the fire and refine them as

  575. one refined silver, and test them as gold is tested.

  576. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them.

  577. I will say they are my people, and they will say.

  578. The law Lord is my God.

  579. Zechariah fourteen.

  580. Behold, a day is coming for the Lord, when the

  581. spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst.

  582. For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle,

  583. and the city shall be taken, and the houses plundered,

  584. and the women raped. Half of the city shall go

  585. out into exile, but the rest of the people shall

  586. not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord

  587. will go out and fight against those nations, as when

  588. he fights on a day of battle. On that day,

  589. his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that

  590. lies before Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of

  591. Olives shall be split in two from east to west

  592. by a very wide valley, so that one half of

  593. the mountain shall move northward and the other half southward.

  594. And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains.

  595. For the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azul,

  596. and you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake

  597. in the days of Aziah, king of Judah. Then the

  598. Lord my God will come and all the holy ones

  599. with him. On that day there shall be no light, cold,

  600. or frost, and there shall be a unique day, which

  601. is known to the Lord. Neither day nor night, but

  602. an evening time. There shall be light. On that day,

  603. living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them

  604. to the Eastern Sea, and half of them to the

  605. Western Sea. It shall continue in summer as in winter,

  606. and the Lord will be king of all the earth.

  607. On that day, the Lord will be one and his

  608. name one. The whole land shall be turned into a

  609. plain from Giba to Rimen south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem

  610. shall remain aloft on its site, from the Gate of

  611. Benjamin to the place of the former gate to the

  612. corner gate, and from the tower of Hannanel to the

  613. King's wine presses. And it shall be inhabited, for there

  614. shall never again be a decree of utter destruction. Jerusalem

  615. shall dwell in security. And this shall be the plague

  616. with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that

  617. wage war against Jerusalem. Their flesh will rot while they

  618. are still standing on their feet. Their eyes will rot

  619. in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

  620. And on that day a great panic from the Lord

  621. shall fall on them, so that each will seize the

  622. hand of another and the hand of the one will

  623. be raised against the hand of the other. Even Shootam

  624. will fight at Jerusalem. And the wealth of all the

  625. surrounding nations shall be collected, gold, silver, and garments in

  626. great abundance. And a plague like this plague shall fall

  627. on the horses, the mules, the camels, the donkeys, and

  628. whatever beasts may be in those camps. Then everyone who

  629. survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem

  630. shall go up year after year to worship the King,

  631. the Lord of Hosts, to keep the feast of boots.

  632. And if any of the families of the earth do

  633. not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the

  634. Lord of Hosts, there will be no rain on them.

  635. And if the family of Egypt does not go up

  636. and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain.

  637. There shall be the plague with which the Lord afflicts

  638. the nations that do not go up to keep the

  639. feasts of booths. This shall be the punishment to Egypt,

  640. and the punishment to all the nations that do not

  641. go up to keep the feast of booths. And on

  642. that day there shall be inscribed on the bells of

  643. the horses Holy to the Lord. And the pots in

  644. the house of the Lord shall be as the bulls

  645. before the altar, and every pot in Jerusalem and Judah

  646. shall be holy to the Lord of Hosts, so that

  647. all whose sacrifice may come and take of them, and

  648. boil the meat of the sacrifice in them. And there

  649. shall no longer be a trader in the House of

  650. the Lord of Hosts on that day,
