  1. And something I think we need to hear as we start

  2. a new year is that God wants everyone to be a

  3. part of his family. And I don't think that should

  4. be news. I don't think that should be a new idea.

  5. But for some reason, it needs to be said. It

  6. needs to be a reminder for all Christians to

  7. hear, for all people to hear that God wants everyone

  8. to be a part of his family. Because sometimes

  9. we look at the church, we look at God and we

  10. say, that's a very exclusive thing. The truth

  11. is, it is not an exclusive thing. It is a very

  12. inclusive thing. The question is, is are you

  13. going to be included? It's up to you. But it's

  14. also up to me to tell you what you should be

  15. included in. It's like if I was throwing a party

  16. and I'm having this party and I invite everybody,

  17. but I don't invite you, you would be very upset

  18. with me, right? Because everyone else got invited

  19. except for you. The same is true for Christians

  20. that walk around. We talk about how good God

  21. is and we say, yes, God has done so much good

  22. in my life. God has blessed me. He saved me.

  23. He's given me the promise of an eternal life

  24. with him in heaven. And he's done all of these

  25. good things for me. But we don't tell them what

  26. he can and wants to do for them. God's party

  27. is not exclusive. But sometimes we have made

  28. it exclusive. I want to start this series talking

  29. about the one. I want to start it by telling

  30. you about all the friends that I have. Believe

  31. it or not, I do have friends. I have a lot of

  32. friends from different backgrounds. I have a

  33. lot of friends that come from different places.

  34. They come from different life experiences, different

  35. socioeconomic statuses, different religious groups,

  36. different just cultures in general. I have a

  37. lot of friends that are different. But because

  38. we live in the South, one thing that is pretty

  39. consistent with our friend groups is most of

  40. our friends have some type of a church background.

  41. They have some type of Christian background.

  42. Maybe they grew up in the Catholic church or

  43. they grew up in a Baptist church or they grew

  44. up with parents that did pray and said they believed

  45. in God. They didn't really go to church, but

  46. they had some type of a faith background. We've

  47. all got friends that have some type of connection.

  48. to the church. When I think about my friends,

  49. I can place most of them into just a few categories,

  50. and I'm going to have those on the screen. Maybe

  51. a little bit small for you to read, so I'll read

  52. them out loud. I have some friends that grew

  53. up in the church, but they've wandered from the

  54. faith. Maybe they just kind of walked away. It

  55. wasn't that they intentionally walked away, but

  56. you go to college and you stop paying attention

  57. to go into church on Sunday morning. Or maybe

  58. you moved away, you joined the military, and

  59. it was kind of a hassle to get a ride off base

  60. to the church. They drifted. They wandered from

  61. the faith. Some grew up in a church or in church,

  62. and they were hurt by the church. They were hurt

  63. by people in the church. Things happened. That

  64. really just kind of pushed them away. So they

  65. walked away. Maybe they just really hated the

  66. doctrine. Maybe they just couldn't deal with

  67. the legalism. Or maybe they couldn't deal with

  68. the hypocrisy. Or maybe some really traumatic

  69. things happened to them. So they walked away.

  70. And they said, I'm done. I'm done with the whole

  71. Jesus thing. I can't do it anymore. Maybe they

  72. just walked away from church, not Jesus. Some

  73. believe they found a better way. to live apart

  74. from the church. They believe maybe in a different

  75. religious group or maybe they've kind of subscribed

  76. to a different way of thinking. But whatever

  77. it is, they've walked away because they feel

  78. they found a better way. And then some would

  79. call themselves Christians. They would say that

  80. they are Christ followers, but they're trusting

  81. more in their own goodness than in his. They're

  82. trusting more in their own self -righteousness

  83. and their own ability to do right and their own

  84. ability to do good than they are trusting in

  85. God's. And then some are genuine followers of

  86. Christ. They're still flawed, but they're faithfully

  87. following. So we've got these different categories

  88. of our friends. And I think if you're honest

  89. with yourself, you could probably put a majority

  90. of your friends in those categories. Maybe you

  91. have friends that come from different faith backgrounds

  92. altogether, and we'll talk about that at some

  93. point in the series. But this morning, what we're

  94. going to talk about the most is the first friend.

  95. The friend that has the church background, but

  96. maybe they just kind of drifted. They didn't

  97. walk away on purpose. They didn't run. They weren't

  98. pushed out. They just kind of drifted. Because,

  99. again, in the South, We have a lot of friends

  100. that have Christian backgrounds. This is the

  101. Bible Belt, after all. And so we might assume

  102. that they're okay because they have a church

  103. background. But what I want to be very clear

  104. about, and this is one thing that can be painful

  105. for some people to hear, it can feel very judgmental.

  106. And so I want to clarify before I say it that

  107. I am in no way being judgmental. But the truth

  108. is, is a church background is not the same as

  109. a relationship with Christ. You can come to church

  110. every Sunday. You can be here every time the

  111. doors are open. You can participate in all the

  112. events. You can be in all the Bible studies.

  113. You can do everything that the church does. But

  114. it does not qualify as a relationship with Christ.

  115. Claiming Christianity is not the same thing as

  116. following Jesus. I am a very. Christ follower

  117. type person. I don't really even like to say

  118. Christian that much anymore. If you'll notice,

  119. sometimes I'll post things on Facebook and I

  120. like to qualify that these are posts for Christians

  121. because I have a lot of friends on Facebook that

  122. aren't Christians. And I don't want them to hear

  123. me say something about Christians and think I'm

  124. talking to them because I'm not. I'm talking

  125. to the Christ follower. And so we have to understand

  126. that we can claim to be Christians all day long.

  127. But to the world, all that sounds like is a bunch

  128. of people who occupy a seat on Sunday mornings

  129. and tell everybody else they're going to hell.

  130. I want to be a follower of Christ, someone who

  131. looks and lives like Jesus. That's what we're

  132. called to. If we're being if we're willing to

  133. be really honest, there may be someone sitting

  134. in this room today who fits in one of those categories

  135. that we just mentioned. That fits in the category

  136. of the person that maybe they drifted away or

  137. they were pushed away. Maybe you've been hurt

  138. by the church and so you walked away. I don't

  139. know which category that we just touched on that

  140. you fit in, but I would imagine you fit somewhere

  141. in there. And we don't want to sound judgmental,

  142. so we avoid using the word that the Bible uses.

  143. And hear me again when I say not being judgmental

  144. at all, because I fit in this category some days

  145. of the week. And the word. that we have to use,

  146. if we're being very honest, is lost. But I want

  147. you to understand that calling somebody lost

  148. is not a judgmental, it's not a hateful thing

  149. to say. Calling someone lost isn't an insult.

  150. To say someone is lost is to say that they have

  151. value, that they matter. Because you don't lose

  152. something that doesn't matter to you. It's just

  153. gone. I'll give you a story, and I did get permission

  154. from Eliza to tell this because I don't want

  155. to get in trouble. A couple of years ago, Eliza

  156. lost one of the keys to her car. Conveniently

  157. enough, just a few months before that, she lost

  158. a key to our other car. So just going to tell

  159. you really quickly, don't give my wife your keys.

  160. Don't do that. Love her to death. Hopefully she

  161. doesn't listen to this sermon. But yeah, she

  162. lost one of her car keys and her car is, well,

  163. it was fairly newer. I don't know if you know

  164. this, but new car keys are not cheap to replace.

  165. So I started calling around like, hey, how much

  166. is it going to be to get a new key? Well, for

  167. her car specifically, it was going to be like

  168. $300. Car keys today cost anywhere from $100

  169. to $400 to replace. It seems kind of silly to

  170. me, but whatever. We looked everywhere for this

  171. car key. I mean, we checked in the garbage. We

  172. checked in all of our clothes. We checked every

  173. inch of that car. We checked all over our apartment.

  174. We looked everywhere for that key. Why did we

  175. look for it? Because it had value. Because it

  176. mattered. And so to say we lost, well, she, make

  177. sure that's clear. She lost her car key was to

  178. say she lost something of value, of something

  179. that mattered. And so when we say that people

  180. are lost, when we say that people have wandered

  181. from God or maybe they've walked away from God

  182. and they are his lost sheep. They're his lost

  183. children. That's not to insult them. It's not

  184. to say anything bad about them. It's to say they

  185. matter to God and they matter to us. If we look

  186. around this room and we see people that maybe

  187. used to go to church with us or be a part of

  188. our church family, and we say that person is

  189. lost, it's not to say anything bad about them.

  190. It's to say, I miss them. I need them. I want

  191. them. And so when God says one of his children

  192. is lost, he's saying they matter. Because to

  193. God, every single person has a measurable value.

  194. They cost a lot more than a car key. And when

  195. they are lost, God does everything to track them

  196. down. We saw that with the Israelite people.

  197. We see that in the way that Jesus goes to the

  198. lost. God values every single person. That's

  199. why our theme verse for this series is Luke chapter

    Luke 19:10

  200. 19, verse 10. For the son of man came to seek

  201. and to save the lost. That's the mission of Jesus.

  202. That's what Christ came for is to seek and save

  203. the lost. And if we're followers of Jesus, if

  204. we're going to be like Christ, if we're going

  205. to do the things that Jesus did, then we don't

  206. just believe in him. We follow him into his mission.

  207. And if his mission was to come seek and save

  208. the lost, then what are we supposed to be doing?

  209. Seeking. Now, we don't do the saving. I want

  210. that to be very clear. But we are supposed to

  211. be seeking the lost. We introduce them to the

  212. one who saves. Every one of us has been lost

  213. at some point. Again, that's why I said calling

  214. somebody lost is not an insult. We've all been

  215. lost at some point and some may be sitting here

  216. today. In the state of being lost, whether you

  217. realize it or not. That's why for the next month,

  218. we're going to focus on the people that Jesus

  219. values. The lost. Specifically, we're going to

  220. focus on. The one in your life that may be lost.

  221. The one person that you know. The friend that

  222. you have. The co -worker. The family member that

  223. is lost. That they're not in a relationship with

  224. Christ. The person that you can be praying for.

  225. That you can be thinking about in your time of

  226. meditation with God. In your time of prayer.

  227. In your time of scripture reading. In your fasting.

  228. We're going to be doing a 31 days of prayer and

  229. fasting throughout the month of January. I'm

  230. just throwing that on you right now. So starting

  231. on, I think it's Wednesday. and New Year's Day?

  232. Yes, Thursday is. Thursday is New Year's Day.

  233. So starting on Thursday, you're going to give

  234. up something. You don't have to. This is completely

  235. up to you. I'm encouraging you to. You're going

  236. to give up something for a month. I'm going to

  237. give up Dr. Pepper. Well, Dr. Pepper and root

  238. beer. I'm going to give up Dr. Pepper and root

  239. beer and desserts. The desserts part can be amended.

  240. I'm going to give up sodas for a month. And that's

  241. going to be what I fast from. And we'll have

  242. a prayer and fasting guide that we're going to

  243. send out to you. And each week, the week's prayer

  244. prompts will be printed out for you. But I want

  245. you to think about what you can fast from so

  246. that you can invite God in to do some really

  247. incredible things. But I also want you to be

  248. praying. And our prayer focus is going to be

  249. on the one. The one in your life that is not

  250. in relationship with Christ. The one in your

  251. life that's not a follower. Because sometimes

  252. the Great Commission, that whole go into all

  253. the worlds and proclaim the gospel can feel kind

  254. of like a daunting task that I have to give the

  255. gospel to everybody. So the challenge is if we

  256. can just start with one, maybe we can just change

  257. the world. We did the math a few months ago in

  258. a sermon where I told you, you know, there's

  259. 100 people in the room. If you multiply 100 by

  260. two, you get to 200 and you keep multiplying.

  261. If we just start with one, we can change this

  262. county. In just a matter of years, we can bring

  263. everyone to Christ if we just start with one.

  264. And so today we begin with the one who has wandered.

  265. So in Luke chapter 15, and this is where the

    Luke 15 chapter mention

  266. series is going to kind of be anchored is in

  267. Luke 15. We start in verses one through seven.

  268. We see Jesus, he's receiving some criticism from

  269. the religious elites for the things that he's

  270. teaching, the things that he's doing. And this

  271. is how he responds to them. It's on the screen,

  272. but again, it's a little small. So if you want

  273. to turn there, it's Luke 15 verses 1 through

    Luke 15:1–7

  274. 7. Now the tax collectors and sinners were all

  275. drawing near to hear him. And the Pharisees and

  276. the scribes grumbled, saying, This man receives

  277. sinners and eats with them. So he told them this

  278. parable. What man of you, having a hundred sheep,

  279. if he has lost one of them, does not leave the

  280. ninety -nine in the open country and go after

  281. the one that is lost until he finds it? And when

  282. he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders

  283. rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together

  284. his friends and his neighbors, saying to them,

  285. Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that

  286. was lost. Just so I tell you, there will be more

  287. joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than

  288. over ninety nine righteous persons who need no

  289. repentance. I want you to notice first who Jesus

  290. attracts. He attracts religious people, obviously,

  291. because he's a rabbi. He's a teacher. And so

  292. religious people are curious about him. But Jesus

  293. also attracts sinners. He attracts outcasts.

  294. He attracts the people that everybody else would

  295. have avoided. He attracts those people. I got

  296. to be very honest here. Sometimes I think Christians

  297. push those people away. We kind of scare them

  298. off. Again, I want to be a Christ follower, a

  299. disciple of Christ. And if Jesus attracted those

  300. people, then I want to attract those people.

  301. Now, what I want to be very clear is I don't

  302. want to attract those people by doing what they

  303. do and fitting in with them. But I want to attract

  304. those people by being so different that when

  305. they look at me, they see somebody and say, what

  306. in the world is wrong with that guy? I got to

  307. know some about him. I got to know why he's so

  308. different. Just imagine what the world would

  309. think, what they would see if Christians actually

  310. look like Jesus. If Jesus attracted those people,

  311. maybe we could too. And so what I want to do

  312. is live a life that attracts the people that

  313. everybody else avoids. And Jesus gets criticism

  314. for this. And the religious leaders, they can't

  315. stand it. So Jesus tells this story. He talks

  316. about a shepherd. The shepherd leaves his 99

  317. sheep because he has 100, math, 99 sheep to go

  318. find one. He goes to find the one, the one that

  319. wandered off. And without hesitation, when he

  320. finds him, he rejoices. He doesn't scold the

  321. sheep. He doesn't shame the sheep and beat him

  322. over the head with a stick and say, you stupid

  323. sheep. How could you run away? He doesn't do

  324. that. He puts the sheep over his shoulders. He

  325. carries them home and he throws a party. He calls

  326. his friends. He says, celebrate with me. What

  327. was lost has been found. You know, something

  328. we were. I was talking with somebody the other

  329. day about clapping when somebody gives their

  330. life to Christ, celebrating when somebody gives

  331. their life to Christ. Y 'all, heaven throws a

  332. party when someone comes to know Christ as their

  333. Lord and Savior. Heaven rejoices. And so when

  334. somebody gives their life to Christ in these

  335. waters. What are we supposed to do? Just stand

  336. here like good for you, dude. Happy for you.

  337. I'll send you a card. No, we celebrate because

  338. what was lost has been found. Here's the point.

  339. Jesus values the one who wanders. He looks at

  340. the one that kind of drifts off. He says, I still

  341. love you and I'm going to do things. I'm going

  342. to send people your way. I'm going to send things

  343. your way so that you can be found. I want you

  344. to be a part of my family. Jesus says the person

  345. that wanders matters. And if we truly value something,

  346. we go looking for it. So if we're going to be

  347. like Jesus, then we've got to look at the person

  348. who's wandered off. And we've got to say, I value

  349. them. I'm going to go find them. And when I find

  350. them, I'm going to celebrate. So let me ask you

  351. today. If someone you love has wandered from

  352. Christ. Why would you not go after them? Why

  353. would you not chase them down? You know, I think

  354. about when my kids, they start, they got, Peyton

  355. got a four -wheeler and Easton got a little go

  356. -kart for Christmas and they were driving down

  357. the hill right there, the driveway, and Peyton

  358. started going a little too fast. So I had to

  359. run and catch him, right? Because I didn't want

  360. him to drift down the hill. Because what's at

  361. the bottom of the hill? A highway. Right. When

  362. Jesus sees us drifting, he does what he can to

  363. catch us. And when we see the people we love

  364. drifting down a hill, we know what's at the bottom

  365. of that hill. So why would we not chase them

  366. to catch them? And I use the word wander. I use

  367. the word drift because a sheep doesn't typically

  368. leave intentionally. Sheep aren't they're not

  369. the type to run away and just go do their own

  370. thing because they want to. Sheep are kind of

  371. dumb. And so if a sheep gets lost, it's because

  372. it wandered off or drifted off from the rest

  373. of the flock. And so we look at a sheep and we

  374. say, well, it's gone. It's lost because it kind

  375. of slowly, subtly. sometimes unnoticed, drifts

  376. away from the flock. I want you to think about

  377. a car that's not actively being steered. If you

  378. take your hands off the steering wheel, maybe

  379. if your front end alignment's good, you can stay

  380. in the lane for a good while. But if it's not,

  381. you're going to just slowly drift. And before

  382. long, you end up in the median, or hopefully

  383. that's all that happens is you just end up in

  384. the median. I can remember one time when I was

  385. in high school. My grandma and I, we had to drive

  386. to Jackson, Mississippi. So about a three hour

  387. drive. And well, I say my grandma and I, I drove

  388. because my grandma doesn't drive far. And so

  389. I drove, but I was really tired. And so on our

  390. way back, I fell asleep and I had sunglasses

  391. on. So my grandma didn't realize I'd fallen asleep.

  392. And so all of a sudden the truck just starts

  393. drifting into the median. And I guess my grandma

  394. maybe wasn't paying attention because before

  395. long we were in the median and I kind of had

  396. to. Get back on the road. I wasn't paying attention.

  397. I wasn't being conscious about keeping it on

  398. the road. And before long, we were in danger.

  399. That's what happens sometimes. Life gets busy,

  400. right? We go to, like I said, we go to college

  401. and we stop. going to church on Sunday or maybe

  402. work gets busy and we miss Wednesday night because

  403. it's been a long week or things get hard. So

  404. we don't pray as much as we should. And life

  405. is kind of chaotic. So we don't have the time

  406. to sit down and read our Bible and spend time

  407. with God. And these things happen and things

  408. build up. And before long, we have not been to

  409. church in a long time. We haven't talked to God

  410. in a long time. And it's not because we don't

  411. want to. We just aren't thinking about it. We

  412. drift. You know exactly what that's like because

  413. it's happened to you. I mean, I shouldn't just

  414. put that on you, but I would imagine it's happened

  415. to you, especially if you work and have kids.

  416. Things get chaotic. And all of a sudden, the

  417. thing to take the back seat is the God that you

  418. can't see with your eyes. And so it's easy to

  419. just put him on the back burner. We drift. That's

  420. why I'm preaching this, because there are people

  421. in this room that have drifted and there are

  422. a ton of people out there that have drifted.

  423. And I have three specific reasons for this lesson.

  424. The first one is we have to be intentional if

  425. we want to stay close to the shepherd, if we

  426. want to stay on the road, if we want to stay

  427. on the path that leads to that home in heaven

  428. with God. We've got to be intentional about it

  429. because it can be very easy to just drift off.

  430. And before long, we're the sheep that's wandered

  431. away that needs somebody to come find him. And

  432. if we're not careful, we may never be found.

  433. We've got to be intentional. The second thing

  434. is, is if you've wandered, if you are lost. I

  435. want you to hear this clearly. You can come home.

  436. There is not a better time than right now to

  437. come home. And the third is, is if someone you

  438. love has wandered, you better go find them. I

  439. better go find them. If someone you love has

  440. wandered and if you want to be like Jesus, if

  441. I want to be like Jesus, I better go find them.

  442. Because they're not just going to find their

  443. way home on their own. That's another thing about

  444. sheep. Again, sheep are dumb. I'm not calling

  445. our loved ones dumb. I'm just saying we're all

  446. sheep. Sheep, when they wander, they're stuck

  447. because they're not smart enough to find the

  448. shepherd, to find the flock. They're not smart

  449. enough. You know, if you get lost in the woods,

  450. it's like, OK, if I just walk this direction

  451. long enough, I will find my way home. Right.

  452. It's not like that. Sheep, when they get lost,

  453. they're lost until someone goes to find them.

  454. And so if our friends are lost, we better go

  455. find them. To follow Jesus is to see people the

  456. way he sees them. And Jesus doesn't look at the

  457. lost sheep and say, well, that was their fault.

  458. I hope they find their way home. He looks at

  459. them. He goes after them. And there are thousands

  460. of people in our community with church backgrounds

  461. who have simply drifted away from Christ. You

  462. know those people. I don't because I'm new here.

  463. But you know those people. The people that sat

  464. in these chairs not too long ago. The people

  465. that you grew up going to church with, the people

  466. that you went on the youth group trips with,

  467. the people that you maybe went to a Christian

  468. college with and now they could care less about

  469. talking to God. You know those people. And if

  470. you see them the way Jesus sees them, we should

  471. go find them. The next thing I want you to notice

  472. what happens when the sheep is found again, and

  473. I really want to emphasize this point, is there

  474. is a celebration. There's not condemnation. Full

  475. transparency, I got the idea for this series

  476. from a preacher in Texas named Rick Ashley. And

  477. one thing that Rick says in his sermon on the

  478. sheep is he doesn't pick the sheep up and beat

  479. him over the head with his club and say, you

  480. stupid sheep, how dare you walk away? And he

  481. doesn't do that. He throws a party. And I say

  482. that, I said that twice now, maybe three times

  483. in this lesson, because I want that message to

  484. be very clear. I can't speak for all of you,

  485. but I know I can speak for myself. And I think

  486. I can speak for Chad and Phil as the shepherds.

  487. We're going to celebrate when people come to

  488. know Christ. And we're going to be a church that

  489. welcomes the lost. We're going to be a people

  490. that when people say, I want to know Jesus, we're

  491. going to do everything we can to make sure they

  492. get to know him. And when they find him, when

  493. they give their life to him, we are going to

  494. be a people that throw a party with heaven. Now,

  495. we may not have a real party, although that'd

  496. be kind of fun, right? Baptism parties. We should

  497. work on that. We're going to be a people that

  498. celebrate when somebody comes to know the greatest

  499. gift. that was ever given. When somebody comes

  500. to know the good shepherd, when somebody comes

  501. to know the God that loves to give abundant life

  502. to his children, we're going to celebrate that.

  503. The church should reflect the heart of heaven.

  504. So this month, we're committing ourselves to

  505. prayer. We're going to commit ourselves to fasting.

  506. I couldn't think of a better way to start our

  507. new year, my first full year with you as a congregation.

  508. I couldn't think of a better way to start us

  509. off than praying to God for the people that we

  510. know that are lost. to praying to God for our

  511. church to be a church family that welcomes the

  512. loss. I couldn't think of a better way than saying,

  513. I'm going to give something up. I'm going to

  514. pour something out so that God can fill me up

  515. in a better way through fasting. That's a spiritual

  516. discipline that we neglect, but I think we need

  517. to focus on a little bit more because I'm going

  518. to let something go so that God can give something

  519. better. And y 'all know how much I love Dr. Pepper.

  520. To say God can give me something better than

  521. Dr. Pepper is saying something. But let me tell

  522. you, if we have one baptism this year, that'll

  523. be better than a month without Dr. Pepper. Because

  524. that is what we're here for. We're here to find

  525. the lost. So this month we commit to praying

  526. for the lost. We commit to fasting so that God

  527. can open our eyes for the lost. This isn't a

  528. ritual. This isn't something that we're doing

  529. because it's a cool thing to do. This is about

  530. love. This is about loving our neighbor and loving

  531. each other as God has loved us. So we're starting

  532. with one because trying to reach everyone can

  533. feel a little bit intimidating. And our prayer

  534. and fasting guide is going to be, well, it's

  535. already made. It's designed to help us do this

  536. intentionally so that daily we can pray for our

  537. one and daily we can listen for God's leading

  538. and maybe look for God's prompting. And really

  539. intentionally what we want to do is we want to

  540. prepare prayer with loving and faithful action.

  541. Because we can pray all day long. We can ask

  542. God for things. We can talk to God about things.

  543. But if we are not a people of action with our

  544. prayer, then we're just people that make wishes

  545. to God. And every time you see people in Scripture

  546. come to know God, there's an action that they've

  547. got to be involved in. You look at the blind

  548. man. Jesus tells him. He says, go. Wash your

  549. face in the pool. You look at the lame man. He

  550. says, get up, walk. We can't just be people that

  551. say, I'm going to pray. I'm going to trust God

  552. to do it. We got to work with him. We have to

  553. serve with him. So we do this not to fix people,

  554. not to argue with people, but to seek, to invite,

  555. to care, trusting that God will do what only

  556. God can do. And as people return. whether they

  557. come quickly or they kind of trickle in, as people

  558. return to God, we rejoice together. We celebrate.

  559. This morning, if there's somebody in here with

  560. a heart that is troubled, if you feel like you're

  561. that sheep that's wandered off, if you feel like

  562. you fit into the category of lost, wherever you

  563. stand today, if you're just hurting, if you need

  564. to come to know Jesus for the first time, if

  565. you're ready to give your life to him, the water

  566. is always ready. If you need anything, We're

  567. a church that loves to pray for people. We're

  568. a church that loves to serve people. We're a

  569. church that loves to sit with people, grieve

  570. with people, rejoice with people, whatever you

  571. need. This is a time of invitation made specifically

  572. for you. I hope you'll take it as we stand and

  573. as we sing.
