  1. I'm sitting next to the playground at the newly renovated Navarra Park, watching children play and be happy,

  2. and also thinking, meditating on 2 Timothy 2.16.

  3. It says,

  4. But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness.

  5. Worldly and empty, here in this verse, are two descriptors that could really refer to a lot of talk, couldn't they?

  6. Unconstructive seems like it would cover empty. That happens a lot.

  7. Worldly mostly means stuff not to do with God. Also happens a lot.

  8. It seems like we would be silent a good part of the time if we actually cut these things out.

  9. However, the emphasis in this verse is on what will lead us to further godliness.

  10. We're to be cutting out things that will lead us to further ungodliness,

  11. and our lives should be built on things that will lead us to further godliness.

  12. So if you speak, make your speech valuable. Make it encouragement. Make it godly.

  13. Focus your eyes, your attention, your heart on Jesus and on His Word,

  14. and these things will give you strength to make your life full of godliness.

  15. Check out our website, newysolidchurch.org,

  16. and feel free to text back in to the 419-419-00095 number,

  17. any encouraging message you'd like to see passed around to other Christians.

  18. God bless you today.
