Yeah. person to volunteer to open us to pray
-
for you. Are you ready? Carson, go ahead. Nice
-
and loud. Hold on to your seatbelt. I changed
-
everything, but it's okay because it doesn't
-
always have to be the same. So here we go. Wacked
-
out simple stuff today. We're going to look at
-
some Bible verses, Bible intake through music.
-
So some of you have some note cards. We're going
-
to start with number one. Who's got number one?
-
Go ahead, Reed. All right. 2 Corinthians 4, 8,
-
9. And then Psalms 34 .5. Okay. Got to read the
-
verse. I got to hear the verse. I didn't know.
-
The instructions are not clear. Give me one second.
-
One second. I'm behind you. Sorry. So we'll play
-
the Jeopardy song. One second. One second. Hey,
-
that makes sense. We are hard -pressed on every
-
side, but not crushed, perplexed, but not despair,
-
persecuted, but not advantaged, struck down,
-
but not destroyed. Sound familiar? We just sang
-
Bible verse. You got the other one, Tommy? Yeah.
-
All right, Psalms 34 and 5 is, Sing to the Lord,
-
you saints of his. Praise his holy name. For
-
his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor
-
lasts a lifetime. We who may remain for a night,
-
but rejoice it comes in the morning. That's Psalm
-
2. Yep. Who's that number two? Go ahead. Sounds
-
familiar? Yes. We're counting in order. So whoever
-
has number three can read now. Who's got it?
-
Who's got three? Behind you. And my people who
-
are called by my name humble themselves and pray
-
and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways
-
that I will hear from heaven and I will forgive
-
their sin and will heal their man. What is That's
-
exactly right. From the right to the left. Number
-
six. Seven. So. So. You are the Skip number eight
-
for a minute. Number nine. Sorry, going out of
-
order. Number nine. Who's got it? Three of them.
-
Go ahead. For I know that my Redeemer lives,
-
and he shall stand on the earth. Stand at last
-
on the earth. Isaiah 40, 31. But those who hope
-
in the Lord will endure their strength. They
-
will soar on wings. They will run and not grow
-
weary. They will walk and not be faint. We just
-
did this song on Sunday. I'm not going to sing
-
this one because I don't have time. So, but you
-
are my hiding place. Says, you are my hiding
-
place. You always fill my heart with songs of
-
deliverance. Whenever I am afraid, I will trust
-
in you. Let the weak say I am strong in the strength
-
of the Lord. You are my hiding place. You always
-
fill my heart with songs of deliverance. Whenever
-
I am afraid, I will trust in you. 12. Isaiah
-
54, 17. But in that coming day, when I went to
-
turn against you, you will succeed. These benefits
-
are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord. Their
-
vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have
-
spoken. this passion against us will stand. Your
-
battle belongs to the Lord. We sing glory, honor,
-
power, and strength to the Lord. We sing glory,
-
honor, power, and strength to the Lord. 13. By
-
my spirit, we did on Sunday, these mountains
-
shall be removed, I will build my temple in you,
-
and what I have promised shall be done, not by
-
might, not by power, but by my spirit, says the
-
Lord. 14. 126. Jesus said to her, woman, believe
-
me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain
-
nor in Jerusalem will worship the Father. You
-
worship what you do, not know. You worship what
-
we know. For salvation is from the Jews. But
-
an hour is coming and now is When the true worshipers
-
will worship the Father in spirit and in truth,
-
for such people the Father seeks to be his worshipers,
-
God is spirit, and those who worship him must
-
worship in spirit and truth. Then the woman said
-
to him, I know that Messiah is coming, he who
-
is called Christ. When the one comes, he will
-
declare all things he was. Jesus said to her,
-
I am he. The song Maranatha, that Tim sings so
-
well, says, hear the news. Jesus Christ is coming
-
and it will be soon. Come on and join the race
-
we're running. For God is the spirit, the almighty
-
spirit, the spirit that's living inside of me.
-
And I want to raise my voice and sing, Maranatha,
-
Christ is king. Fifteen? Fifteen? All right,
-
Jason, last one. Okay, so hold that thought.
-
One more song. Before we do that, I want you
-
to think about this. I have sang these songs,
-
some of these songs, for what, 15, 20 years?
-
Did I know that they were Bible verses word for
-
word from the Bible? I did not. So think about
-
that when you're going through your life. Think
-
about there may be things that you're seeing,
-
that you're hearing, that you're saying, that
-
you're singing every day that is straight from
-
the Bible and you may not even know it. Which
-
is why Bible intake is so important. You take
-
it in, you put it out. But it's good to know
-
where the out comes from. Children, you may go
-
to your lesson. That was cool. Let's go. Woo!
-
Thank you very much. I gave them all to him.
-
Okay. So you have a worksheet coming around.
-
You will notice when it comes around that it
-
is... than average size. At least the amount
-
of information that we're going to cover in it
-
is smaller than average size. Before we are through,
-
we are going to stretch our technology to the
-
limit and review all of the last 10 weeks of
-
lessons that we have done through the time when
-
David was ousted from Jerusalem. Okay, so that
-
is our goal. So we have quite a bit on our agenda
-
and I have done it in kind of a fun way when
-
that time comes. So we'll... Some of us will
-
actually be using our phones in church. This
-
will be very different, very new, something odd.
-
So I hope you did bring it today, but don't have
-
it out until that time comes. So we're looking
-
at David, and it says wrapping up. So as much
-
as this as we can do from memory will be the
-
less of it that we need to look up. So the more
-
that you can do from memory. the less we will
-
need to look up and the faster it will go and
-
the more time that we'll have for fun later,
-
which we'll need quite a bit of time because
-
the fun is going to take a minute, okay? All
-
right, so David, wrapping up. The first section
-
there is always a person and then, if you will,
-
what happened to them or what we learned about
-
them during the time of our total study, okay?
-
And then I threw in a couple of guys that you
-
probably won't remember and we will have to learn
-
about them. So the first section, We learned
-
about a guy who starts with the letter J. That's
-
exactly right. And what happened to him ends
-
with he died. That's right. So he wound up dead.
-
Very good. That was easy. The next one, a little
-
less known guy starts, the whole name is there,
-
was Abiathar. Do you remember who he was? Anybody
-
remember who he was? Okay, who was he? Kind of
-
an advisor. Who was he? Tell me who he was first.
-
He was a priest. And later became a high priest.
-
That's true. And so he was the high priest when
-
Solomon takes over when David dies. And then
-
what did Solomon do to him? And it's on the paper
-
then. They're filling the blank. It starts with
-
an R, so that's pretty easy. What did he do to
-
him? You got a high priest. You get rid of him.
-
You have to have a high priest. So you replaced
-
him. So he replaced him. Abiathar was there during
-
the time of David's ousting, but he was not the
-
high priest at that time. Zadok was. Later, Zadok
-
and Abiathar are still alive, but Abiathar is
-
the high priest. And Solomon kicks Abiathar out
-
of the priesthood and brings Zadok to be priest
-
again. So the old guy comes back. And then the
-
next one is Solomon. And this one we will actually
-
probably have to read. David says to Solomon,
-
this is from 1 Kings 2. He says, I am going the
-
way of all the earth. Be strong, therefore, and
-
show yourself a man. And so Solomon is what?
-
Starts with a C. What's that? No, I'm talking
-
about in this actual verse. So what did David
-
do to him? He says, I'm going the way. No, not
-
cursed. That's not like a curse, does it? He
-
says, be strong, therefore. And show yourself
-
a man. Jason, if I say to you, be strong, what
-
am I doing to you? Okay, yeah, you could say
-
that. Or if it starts with a C, you could say
-
he challenged him or charged him. Right? He was
-
charged with what? Being strong. That's right.
-
He was charged with being strong. And it continues
-
on to the next line. And, shall I read the verse
-
again? Showing himself a man. Okay. Those are
-
not the same thing necessarily. Right. So it's
-
not a restatement of the same phrase. So be strong
-
and show himself a man. That's what David told
-
Solomon to do. Now he does a little bit more.
-
We'll get to it a little later. All right. And
-
we have this guy who's kind of an interesting
-
character. I very seriously doubt that you remember
-
him. His name is Barzillai. B -A -R -Z -I -L
-
-L -A -I. Okay. And David. charges Solomon in
-
verse 7 of that same chapter, but show kindness
-
to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite. I can
-
spell Gileadite for you as well. It is exactly
-
like it sounds. G -I -L -E -A -D -I -T -E. So
-
it's Barzillai the Gileadite. That just means
-
he was from Gilead. Okay, Barzillai the Gileadite.
-
And David told him the K is what? Kindness. And
-
it goes a little further, so I'll read a little
-
bit more here. Show kindness to the sons of Barzillai
-
the Gileadite, and let them be among those who
-
eat at your table. For they assisted me when
-
I fled from Absalom your brother. So Barzillai
-
the Gileadite, kindness and eat at Solomon's
-
table. Eat at Solomon's table. We're going good.
-
We'll have plenty of time for the fun part. I
-
don't like this. This is kind of fun part two.
-
So whatever. All right. So then we have another
-
guy. Does anybody remember some guys that started
-
with an S and maybe you'll get it? We studied
-
them. Saul was one, but not the one. Right. Saul
-
is pre this story mostly. Right. Shimei or Shimei.
-
That's who we're talking about. And he was, you
-
probably wouldn't remember this. He was the son
-
of Gera. G -E -R -A. What did he do? He's in
-
your paperwork. We studied him. He was not on
-
a page by himself. We did not study him a week
-
by himself because he's kind of a small character.
-
Does anybody remember what he did? S -H -I -M
-
-E -I. Shim -E -I or Shim -A. He is the son of
-
Gerah. G -E -R -A. Does anybody remember anything
-
about him? He cursed David when David was in
-
retreat. As they came to a place of worship in
-
the high hills, He yelled curses at David and
-
said, see, you didn't belong to be king anyway.
-
He cursed him, calling down curses from God on
-
David. Yeah, he said, do not punish him. Do not
-
kill him now. Maybe God will respond to these
-
curses and give me good instead. Yep. So later,
-
Shimei comes back and we studied this. Shimei
-
comes back to David and he pledges his loyalty.
-
He does it right. He comes back to him, he brings
-
the troops, and he says, we're with you. And
-
David says, I promise you, I will not kill you
-
with a sword. I will not do it. Even though you
-
cursed me in that day, I'm not going to do it.
-
So now we're at the death of David. And Shimei,
-
the son of Gerah, David says, shall not be unpunished.
-
So the word there is not unpunished. I'm going
-
to read to you how Solomon handles this. Pretty
-
tricky, pretty wise sounding. This is what happens.
-
I'm almost there. Almost there. Almost there.
-
There it is. Okay. The king. Okay. Now the king
-
sent and called for Shimei and said to him, build
-
for yourself a house in Jerusalem and live there.
-
Do not go out from there to any place. In other
-
words, he basically grounded him in Jerusalem.
-
For on the day you go out and cross over the
-
brook Kidron, you will know for certain that
-
you shall surely die. Your blood shall be on
-
your own head. Shimei then said to the king,
-
the word is good. As my lord the king has said,
-
so your servant will do. So Shimei lived in Jerusalem
-
many days. But it came about at the end of three
-
years that two of the servants of Shimei ran
-
away to Ashish, son of Makkah, king of Gath.
-
And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, your servants
-
are in Gath. Then Shimei arose and saddled his
-
donkey and went to Gath to Ashish to look for
-
his servants. And Shimei went and brought his
-
servants from Gath. It was told Solomon that
-
Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had
-
returned. So the king sent and called for Shimei
-
and said to him, Did I not make you swear by
-
the Lord and solemnly warn you, saying, You will
-
know for certain that on the day you depart and
-
go anywhere, you shall surely die? And you said
-
to me, The word which I have heard is good. Why
-
then have you not kept the oath of the Lord and
-
the command which I have laid on you? The king
-
also said to Shimei, You know all the evil which
-
you acknowledge in your heart, which you did
-
to my father David. Therefore the Lord shall
-
return your evil on your own head. But King Solomon
-
shall be blessed. and the throne of David shall
-
be established before the Lord forever. So the
-
king commanded Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada,
-
and he went out and fell upon him so that he
-
died. So Shimei, the son of Gerah, it says on
-
your paper, not unpunished, he was first ordered
-
to stay in Jerusalem, then, keep going, then,
-
killed for breaking his promise. Perfect. Killed
-
for breaking his promise. See how good we've
-
gotten at this? So he was... First ordered to
-
stay in Jerusalem, then killed for breaking his
-
promise. That's right. So now we have another
-
character. The next part is another character.
-
I just mentioned him. His name is Benaiah. It's
-
B -E -N -A -I -A -H. Benaiah. B -E -N -A -I -A
-
-H. Okay? And he is the son of, I just read it.
-
Did anybody hear it? Jehoiada. That's right.
-
He is the son of Jehoiada. During our story,
-
He was already a mighty man of God. And when
-
we read about him, he was the... Say it again.
-
Okay. Get it from somebody around you. They should
-
have it. Okay. Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada,
-
he was the... Yes, the head of David's... Starts
-
with a G. A king must have a guard. He was the
-
head of the king's guard. Right? And now, Solomon
-
makes him... He gets a promotion of that. The
-
head of the army. That's right. So upon David's
-
death, Joab is slain. Solomon orders it. And
-
Jehoiada, I'm sorry, Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada,
-
becomes the head of the army in Joab's place.
-
David spends his remaining days. The next line
-
is David. Does anybody know what David did for
-
the remaining days of his life? Starts with a
-
G. Say it again. Nope. In fact, he had no cause
-
to grieve from then on. Everything went pretty
-
well, even though he was dying. He gathered supplies.
-
What did he gather the supplies for? To build
-
the temple. So David spends the remainder of
-
his life, you can read about it in 1 Chronicles
-
22 .5, gathering supplies to build the temple.
-
David gathered supplies to build the temple.
-
Then, He charged Solomon again with a list of
-
things to do. And I'm just going to give them
-
to you in the interest of time because I want
-
to get on to the review. Solomon was charged
-
with being successful. He was already charged
-
with being strong. Now he's charged with being
-
successful. Discerning, D -I -S -C -E -R -N -I
-
-N -G. Discerning, D -I -S, like disc, E -R -N
-
-I -N -G. Discerning. It means to be able to
-
sort one thing from another. Understanding. We
-
talked a lot about that recently. You need to
-
be able to understand the word. That is what
-
we are called to, is not just to know it or even
-
abide by it, but to understand it. That's a pretty
-
big calling. He was called to understand it.
-
And the last one you might get starts with a
-
K. Say it again. No. Actually, he was not called
-
to be kind. He was kind of a jerk. He was harsh.
-
Real harsh. Like, remember the whole, take her
-
baby out and cut it in half. That's not kind.
-
That was pretty mean. Pretty shrewd. So try it
-
again. K? Nope. It's not knowledge. It's keep
-
the whole law. Now all kings were called to keep
-
the whole law, but not all of them will do it,
-
right? Keep the whole law. And we have now seen
-
the transition then from King David to King Solomon.
-
From King David to King Solomon. And now we arrive
-
at our review of 10 weeks. Okay? So Tommy is
-
going to... go on the New Heights website where
-
you can look at this from now on until I take
-
it off of there. Just FYI, the New Heights website
-
right now will say that the security is invalid
-
because it is. It's not trying to steal your
-
identity or anything like that, but our security
-
certificate is invalid and we're waiting for
-
them to update it. They have everything that
-
they need. It will be updated shortly. But in
-
Google, it should already be open, Tommy. What's
-
after Ben Rehosoja? Okay. Was the head of David's
-
Guard, now the head of the Army. Yep. Did everybody
-
get all the blanks? Okay. So we are going to
-
play Jeopardy. But before we begin, first of
-
all, we're going to have a token. Hold on. We
-
will not play this throughout because it's actually
-
quite annoying. This is our one time. So if you
-
recognize it, the Jeopardy scene. Okay. Maybe
-
we'll play 12 more seconds of it later. Okay.
-
So now, this is where we need our phones. So
-
if you brought a phone, I need about three or
-
four people to volunteer to be one of the people.
-
Okay. So Jason is one. Tony is one. Haley is
-
one. I've got three. I need one more at least.
-
One more person is willing to use their phone.
-
You don't have to say where you're at. Okay.
-
So you're willing to use your phone? Okay. So
-
it's Tony, Haley, Solo, and Jason. And everybody
-
else needs to get on one of their teams right
-
now. So move a little closer. Somebody's with
-
Haley somebody so let's go. So why don't you
-
go move over there? Yeah, you can collect all
-
those adults Okay, and then Jason why don't you
-
come up here to the front? You can have Brady
-
and your mom. Oh boy, that's a winning team right
-
here. Okay, and then Haley why don't you move
-
back there with Tommy and Tim can you move over
-
with Haley and Tommy? Tommy's gonna play because
-
he has to run the screen, but he doesn't know
-
the answers and then Josh should be with Tony.
-
Okay, that'll work The mic's probably going to
-
come up a row because he's doing his yarn up
-
here. All right. Okay. So now, those of you who
-
are using your phone, I need you to go to a certain
-
website. So you're going to go to Google, and
-
I'm going to read the website to you. Can't do
-
what? Can you go to Google and put in a website?
-
If not, it's okay. We'll do it differently. Okay,
-
so the website is Buzonk, B -U -Z -Z -O -N -K
-
dot com. B -U -Z -Z -O -N -K two Z's dot com.
-
Okay, are you there? Okay, then enter this code
-
on the line when you're there. The number eight.
-
Looks like this. It's yellow and black. It says
-
Bazunk. Like a B. It's B -U, not B -O. You can't
-
misspell words. Is that a problem? B -U -C -Z.
-
O -N -K. Is it just B? That's it. In the box.
-
Is it just B? You guys give us all. Okay, so
-
the code is 8, the letter R, the number 7, 8R,
-
7, Y, W, K. And then you can join. It should
-
be there. Yes. Okay, I've got a connection problem.
-
Retry. Hold on. Okay, if you click the top, you
-
should be able to add your name, your team name.
-
Yours is Bill? Yeah. Okay, I may have just erased
-
you. Did you say enter? Or buzz? That's the buzzer
-
for the game. Okay, so I have five players. Let's
-
see what they are. Make sure all my settings
-
are right. All right, so here's how the game
-
is going to be played. One player will begin
-
by picking a category and a point amount off
-
of the screen that you see above us. Okay, we're
-
going to try this one time. So I'm going to hit
-
the reset button. You should be able to... Push
-
your buzzer after I hit the reset button. Do
-
you see your buzzer lit up? Yes, it's lit. Everyone
-
got it? Haley, is your buzzer lit up? No, it's
-
not. Somebody pushed theirs, that's why. Okay,
-
try it again. Everybody's buzzer should light
-
up. Don't push it. As long as we can all see
-
it, that's fine. Okay, we're good. Okay, so everyone
-
can see the buzzer. So here's how it's going
-
to work. Once somebody buzzes in, nobody else
-
will be able to buzz in. Okay? Yep. So I should
-
get a record of who buzzed in first. You start
-
with zero points. If you get an incorrect answer,
-
you will go backwards. I'm not seeing everybody's
-
name title. Do we have to say who it is, what
-
it is, just like Jeffrey? Yes. Yes, it's a question
-
like Jeffrey. Yes Okay, there I see everybody
-
now. All right, so I have these are the teams
-
who's awesome You guys are awesome back there.
-
Okay, who's Knights of God Knights of God over
-
there? Okay, who's Pluto? Okay up there and then
-
yarn busters. I love it So So what we're gonna
-
do is the first part whoever has it first will
-
Pick a category at a dollar or point amounts.
-
We're not doing dollars, okay? And then you will
-
have the question will be displayed. Whoever
-
buzzes in at that time, only who buzzes in will
-
be called on to answer the question. If you get
-
the question wrong, you will go backwards by
-
that many points. And then somebody else will
-
have an opportunity to buzz in and you will not,
-
okay? All right. Here we go. We're going to try.
-
I say we're stretching the technology as far
-
as I know how to stretch it right now, all right?
-
Okay, so I am going to ask a question. No, actually,
-
I'm just going to pick. The Yarn Busters will
-
have the first choice, so we can just get this
-
moving, all right? Because we're going to try
-
to do the whole screen if we can. Let's do plots
-
for 300, Alex. Okay, so click on plots. Okay,
-
wait, wait. Plots for 300, Charlie. Ready? And
-
you are. Prophet and wife who approached David
-
to ensure that Solomon would become king, as
-
promised, need both names. Someone pushed the
-
buzzer, and it is Yarnbusters. Who is Nathan
-
and Bathsheba? That is correct. Those are the
-
correct answers. Yarnbusters, how much does it
-
work? 300. Yarnbusters have 300. Okay. So your
-
score should show 300 on your screen. All right.
-
Not bad. Okay. Alright yarn Buster's ever have
-
the board still give us a Category and points.
-
Let's go for plots for 400 army plots for 400
-
Okay Okay, this is a video challenge So I will
-
pause the timer on the buzz in alright So what
-
we're going to watch is a video segment of I
-
know I want to actually see people on the screen
-
because this is from YouTube But you'll be able
-
to hear This is not from Tuesday night. It is
-
from a Sunday morning sermon. Okay? So, Tommy,
-
there's going to be a question at the end of
-
it. When you hear the question, pause the YouTube
-
video. Okay? Because they'll give the answer
-
afterwards. All right. Okay. So let me reset
-
this. Once your buzzer lights up, you can buzz
-
in. Absalom has his men kill Amnon. And the story
-
could stop there, right? Revenge has been taken.
-
Sounds good. Absalom did that. But guess what?
-
The part of the story you may or may not have
-
focused on when we studied it is David receives
-
news of what happened. The first news he receives
-
is that all of his sons have been killed by Absalom.
-
That's the first news, right? But then there's
-
a guy there and he says, no, no, no. It really,
-
I guarantee you, it wasn't all of your sons.
-
It was just Amnon. Absalom had Amnon killed because
-
he was mad over the rape of Samar. Right? And
-
then the message comes and the servant or the
-
person who was there said, see, I told you. And
-
then the sons come and he says, see, I told you.
-
I told you it was just Amnon who was killed.
-
And guess who that person was? 11 seconds. And
-
the time has expired. And reveal the answer.
-
That was telling David. It was just... Just click
-
on the spot where it says face bar at the top
-
where it says reveal correct response. Jonadab.
-
Who was Jonadab? Okay. All right. So no one got
-
the answer correct. So we're back to the Yarnbusters
-
picking another category and point amount. Plots
-
for 200, Tommy. Plots for 200. This person sent
-
orders to Joab to have a man killed to cover
-
up his sin with the man's wife. Did you buzz
-
in? Hold on. Don't say the answer until I'm sure
-
it's you. Okay, I have awesome, correct? Yes,
-
that is right. David is the correct answer. And
-
was it 200? Yes. Okay. You should now have 200
-
points. Died hanging from his hair. Okay, who
-
buzzed in? It was buzzed in by Yarn Busters.
-
Absalom is correct. Was that 100? Okay. Alright.
-
Okay. Go ahead. What do we got? Plots for 500.
-
Tries to replace his brother Solomon as king
-
while David is old. Ten seconds. And time is
-
up. The answer is... Who is Adonijah? Adonijah.
-
Push the button, Tommy. Who is Adonijah? Okay.
-
And who picked that category? That was Yarnbusters.
-
Plots for 100, Tommy. Absalom used this method
-
to Joab to invite him to see King David. How
-
did he get Joab to invite him to see King David?
-
Somebody buzzed in. All right. Who was it? I
-
think it was Awesome. I have everybody. That's
-
not right. Okay. All right. Now I have Awesome.
-
Team Awesome. That is correct. What is burned
-
is peeled. 100 points. Chris just sent me a letter
-
and you burned my fields. You tried the letter
-
thing quite a few times before you resorted to
-
that. Resetting, pause, okay. Alright, what do
-
we got? Death for 200. Left under a blanket off
-
the road after being killed by Joab. Hey, I have
-
somebody buzzed in. It is awesome. Go. Amasa
-
is correct. 200 points. Okay. Awesome has control
-
of the board and also the lead with 500 points.
-
Is that right? Where's Yarnbusters? Yeah, Yarnbusters
-
is at 400 points. Okay. Pick title and... Not
-
Amasa, but the other leader of the army Joab
-
murdered. Okay, someone buzzed in and the answer
-
is two goes to Yarn Busters. Uh -oh. What is
-
the answer, please? You have eight seconds. Two
-
is incorrect. Okay, so that's the correct answer.
-
So you will lose 300 points. One second while
-
I do that. Resetting the buzzer so someone else
-
can buzz in. Okay. Pluto. Pluto. Who's Pluto?
-
Okay, go. Who is it? Abner is correct with 200
-
points. Okay. Yep, so you guys are picking. People
-
for 400. People for 400. Cursed David as David
-
evacuated. Okay, we have somebody buzzed in.
-
It is Team Pluto taking a big risk here. Team
-
Pluto, 10 seconds. Shimei. Shimei is correct.
-
Verily under the gun there. That was a big one,
-
though. And that puts them in the lead. So we
-
have 600 for Pluto, 500 for Awesome, 100 for
-
Yarn Busters. All right. Resetting. People for
-
500. People for 500. Became leader over one -third
-
of the army. David is famous for killing a giant
-
from his hometown. Did somebody buzz? Yes, I
-
think Pluto buzzed, but I think they're going
-
to be in trouble. Seven seconds. Itai. No. The
-
answer has been given as Itai, and that is correct.
-
Oh, okay. Love you. Who is Itai the Gittite?
-
Hold it out. Oh, my, my, my. You did not think
-
you were correct, though. No, I did not. Okay.
-
All right. People for 100. Hold on one second.
-
Okay, people for 100. King on the run. It should
-
be. It's counting. Somebody got it. No, it doesn't
-
show anybody buzzed. Oh, it is. Stop. Okay, get
-
ready. Everybody look away and go now. Let's
-
see who got it. Knights of God. That is correct.
-
David was on the run, and you're on the board.
-
Yay! All right. Watch him come from nowhere.
-
The game is still young. The game is still young.
-
It's anybody's game. Okay, you guys pick. What
-
do you want? Any category. People for 200. King
-
temporarily. Okay. The buzzer went to Pluto.
-
King temporarily. Absalom. Absalom is incorrect.
-
The answer must be phrased as a question. Hold
-
on. I got to restart it. Go. Somebody must have
-
done it. And the next person is yarn busters.
-
Okay. Grammatically incorrect, but still correct.
-
Okay, that was worth 200. Okay. We're not out
-
yet. No one's out. No one is out for sure. Okay.
-
Who got it? Yarnbusters, pick a category and
-
a point value. People for 10 ,000. That's not
-
fair. People for 300? 300 ,000. A loyal commander
-
of the army throughout. Yarn Busters is in. Who
-
is Joab? Joab is correct. And that was 300. The
-
parsers made a mistake there, apparently. I told
-
you I was stretching myself to limit here. All
-
right. Let's go Endings for 300. Endings for
-
300. Okay, so this is an illustration. Name the
-
two cities pictured, the hometowns of two people
-
who fought in the Battle of David and Goliath.
-
Someone buzzed in. It was Pluto. Gath and Bethlehem
-
is incorrect. Must be phrased as a question.
-
Ten seconds for somebody else to buzz in. Well,
-
it would as soon as I hit the resume button,
-
and now it has. And so awesome has buzzed in
-
for the answer. Awesome. Six seconds. Okay. Time
-
has expired. So both of them are getting a detraction.
-
We'll do that in a moment. The buzzer will become
-
available to you again. And time has expired
-
on the question. Okay, so let's do the directions.
-
The answer is what or where is both Bethlehem
-
and Gap, which is what Jason said. So he did
-
give the answer, he just gave it wrong for that.
-
300. All right, so both teams lose 300. All right.
-
All right. One second, we'll reset. Go ahead.
-
Endings for 200, Tommy. Replace David as king
-
when David died. I do not have anyone buzzed
-
in at the moment. Oh, my bad. Okay, here we go.
-
Okay. Yarn Busters. No, it is awesome. I'm sorry.
-
It is awesome. Awesome. Go ahead. What was that?
-
The question was, who is Solomon? That is correct.
-
And 200. Okay. So the scores as we stand right
-
now, just so everyone is aware, Awesome has 400,
-
Knights of God at 100, Pluto at 800, and Yarn
-
Busters at 600. So Pluto is in the lead despite...
-
Two major failures and forgetting to say a question.
-
Okay. All right. So we're going to test it. We're
-
going to test to make sure the buzzer. No one
-
buzz in, please. Go ahead. Okay. It's probably
-
because somebody's buzzing in right before you.
-
Sometimes you just have to have confidence and
-
risk it. I don't know. All right. Here we go.
-
So resetting, pausing. Okay. Pick a category
-
and point value. So should the buzzer be lit
-
up then? No, not until you put the question up.
-
Killed by Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, on Solomon's
-
orders after David's death for his murders of
-
army leaders. Yarnbusters has buzzed in. You
-
have 15 seconds to answer. Six, five. Time has
-
expired. Yarn Busters has not answered. Be prepared
-
to buzz in. Okay, who was it? Let's see. Knights
-
of God. That is correct. Joab is the correct
-
answer. So Yarn Busters lost the 400 points.
-
Hold on, I can't find 400 points off the screen.
-
And Knights of God have taken a jump toward the
-
front. No one's out. It's going to go to the
-
very last minute. It's going to go to the last
-
minute. So score as we have it right now, Awesome
-
is at 400, Knights of God at 500, Pluto at 800,
-
and Yarnbusters at 200 after a brilliant early
-
lead. Okay. Ah, I can't do it. Okay, I'm ready.
-
Nice if God got it, you pick. Allies for 100.
-
Allies for 100. Very top of the screen. A faithful
-
warrior, got results, no recorded losses. Someone
-
is obviously buzzed in. It is Pluto. Who is Joab?
-
Joab is correct. Who is Joab is correct. Okay,
-
so that was 100 points. Yay. What did you say?
-
All right, create a category and a point value.
-
Allies for 400. Allies for 400. Corrected David
-
after his sin with Bathsheba, use the prophet
-
Nathan to do so. Yarnbusters has buzzed in. Who
-
is the G .O .D.? Okay, I'll give it to you, even
-
though you spelled it. That's correct. Who is
-
God? 400 points for God there. God used the prophet
-
Nathan to correct. It was a trick question. It
-
was one of those ones designed to cause you to
-
lose points. For a second, I'm like, wait a minute.
-
Who corrected David? It was supposed to be exciting.
-
That was really hard. The bottom ones are kind
-
of tricky. Let's go. Allies for 500, Tommy. Allies
-
for 500. Going for the big points. Get back in.
-
This man countered Ahithophel's advice. Okay,
-
Pluto has buzzed in. 17 seconds. They're scrambling.
-
They don't know the answer yet. That is incorrect.
-
The buzzer will become available. Seven seconds
-
remaining. Going, going, going. All right. Time
-
has expired on this question. What was the word?
-
500. Okay, that hurts. Okay. Anybody want to
-
answer it now that time has expired? We want
-
to spell it correctly for points. Who was it?
-
Archi. I misspelled it. That's awesome. All right,
-
definitely stretching myself here. All right,
-
here we go. Are we ready? Deaths for 500. The
-
number of men slain by the pestilence before
-
the Lord stayed the hand of the angel about to
-
strike Jerusalem. Somebody buzzed in. It is nights
-
of God. You have 14 seconds to answer. The number
-
of men slain by the pestilence before God stayed
-
the hand of the angel. Four seconds. May as well
-
take a guess. The time has expired. Get ready
-
for your buzzer to be available. Okay, someone
-
has buzzed in. It is Pluto. Give us your answer.
-
I don't know how to phrase this. 20 ,000? What
-
is 20 ,000? That is incorrect. Okay, so they
-
will both get that incorrect and we will go to
-
the top. Your buzzer is going to become available
-
again. So Knights of God and Pluto are out. That
-
leaves the two of you if you want to take a stab
-
at it. Yarn Busters has buzzed in. Ten seconds.
-
Actually, seven seconds. Three, two... What is
-
70 ,000? What is 70 ,000? Is the correct answer?
-
You opened up the Bible, baby. You used the Bible
-
to get the answer? Oh, you're going to blame
-
me. I made such an awesome worksheet and you
-
didn't go find it in the worksheet? Way to come,
-
man. We could find it. He went to the champ.
-
All right, so we've got to do some reduction.
-
I don't think it's on the worksheet either. It
-
might not be, but we talked about it for sure.
-
Great job, Jeff. Way to come. Okay, thanks a
-
lot. Let's do allies for 300. Yarnbusters, hold
-
on, I'm doing the points here. Yarnbusters has
-
pulled ahead at 1100. We have Knights of God
-
and Pluto are both at negative 100. Awesome is
-
at 400. But we're not done yet. It's not over
-
yet. Whenever you're ready. Allies for 300. I
-
was trying to say. Stayed to carry messages during
-
David's flight into the region in Ephraim. Either
-
name will do. Five seconds. Pluto is in. 18 seconds.
-
That is incorrect. The original buzzer is resetting.
-
Three seconds. Okay, time is up. The answers
-
are two young men. Go ahead, Tommy. Jonathan
-
and I forgot the other guy's name. Ahamaz, the
-
son of Zadok, or Jonathan, Abiathar's son. Abiathar
-
and Zadok came out with the ark. I thought it
-
was Jonathan. I thought it was Jonathan. Allies
-
for 200, Tommy. Hold on, I've got to reduce Pluto,
-
right? How much was that word worth? That was
-
an hard one. It must have been 400, right? 300?
-
Okay. And that was the only person that missed
-
it, right? Okay. Next time, somebody else is
-
going to do this part. This is stressing me out.
-
I'm here to any keystrokes. Alex Trebek does
-
not do this. Okay. No, he doesn't do it for himself.
-
Okay. What do we got? Allies for 200. Allies
-
for 200. Brought the Ark of the Covenant out
-
to David at the Brook of Kidron. Someone buzzed
-
in. I'll tell you who it is in a second. It is
-
Pluto. 16 seconds. Who is Jonathan and Satan?
-
That is incorrect. Too many words. Too many words.
-
Reopening the buzzer. Still got 18 seconds left.
-
Knights of God buzzed in. Unfortunately, Jonathan
-
is incorrect. The buzzer is back. Does anybody
-
know the other word that Jason said? That was
-
the other word he said. Two seconds. One, zero.
-
Okay, so Knights of God missed it, unfortunately.
-
It was 200 down. It was not Jonathan. It was
-
Zadok. Zadok was the high priest. He came out
-
and David told him to go back. It's a tricky
-
question. The four and 500 point questions are
-
hard. Okay. All right, here we go. Endings for
-
500, Tommy. Endings for 500. Go with the big
-
banging here. Goliath has this many sons who
-
died to David and his allies. I heard a buzzer.
-
Hold on. It is Pluto. What is four? What is four
-
is correct. Yeah, good job. We're back to almost
-
zero. All right. We've got some left. Almost
-
done. What do we got? Endings for 400. This king
-
oversaw the building of the temple. Okay. The
-
buzzer has been buzzed. It is awesome. Solomon
-
is correct. 400. Look at that. They just came
-
way from behind. All right. I think we only have
-
one question left. One tiny little question left.
-
Who is Caiaphas? He became king over all Israel
-
for 40 years. Awesome. Who is David? Who is David
-
is correct. A good ending for you all. But Yarn
-
Busters will take the day. Congratulations. All
-
right. So we'll probably do this again and someone
-
will operate this part of it next time so I don't
-
have to because that was really hard. Yeah, probably.
-
But you won't be able to be answering questions
-
then. All right. Thank you very much. I enjoyed
-
that. We're going to pray together. I have hot
-
zots. Famously fizzy, fiery candies. Say that
-
five times fast. Famously fizzy, fiery candies.
-
For anybody who would like some. Okay? Everyone
-
can try them. I'm going to pray together first.
-
Let's pray together. Father in heaven, as we
-
bring to a close this lengthy study, it's been
-
a lot. There's been a ton of information. And
-
pulling out questions that I asked wasn't easy.
-
And asking them correctly wasn't easy. And certainly
-
answering them correctly isn't easy. And we're
-
grateful that we have such a rich history. Through
-
David, and we learned so many lessons through
-
him and through his being ousted from Jerusalem
-
and then being brought back and being king for
-
a long, long time. And even, Lord, some of the
-
things that he did that seemed shrewd, but at
-
the same time just seemed mean, vicious even.
-
Like on his deathbed, ordering that Solomon would
-
kill Joab. That's a big deal. Joab was faithful
-
to him for a really long time, but also kind
-
of sneaky and betraying him and manipulating
-
him. And Joab was a murderer twice over at least
-
that we know of. And so it does make sense. It
-
was just justice. But those things are challenging
-
to us, Lord. So we ask you, Lord, that we would
-
be found faithful, that each of us would step
-
up and do what needs to be done, that we would
-
stand strong, even be discerning and understanding
-
and walk as best we can by the whole counsel
-
of the Word of God. I don't know where we'll
-
go next, for sure. I believe you'll take us there.
-
I believe you'll teach us something special,
-
something exciting. I'm grateful that this technology
-
that I discovered is available. We can use it
-
again. And others can go on, even on our website
-
now, and go through those Jeopardy questions
-
and watch those. Or we might do them again by
-
way of studying and learning more. Lord, thank
-
you for all of it. Bless us as you see fit. In
-
Jesus' name, amen. I'll let you play outside
-
for a moment. I think they're great. I was supposed
-
to have a square. Why do I have a triangle and
-
not a square? Out of peopling. Patience is gone.
-
One more person bumps into me in the hallway.
-
I might shove back. She must have transposed
-
to our season two oh okay i'm gonna hear things
-
about that High steps down.
