I did
-
want to mention again, it was in the
-
announcement,
-
but General Flynn is going to be with
-
us this weekend. I'm very excited about that.
-
This is this is,
-
very important subject,
-
human trafficking, child trafficking specifically,
-
exploitation of children.
-
The United States is the number one nation
-
in the entire world
-
for human trafficking.
-
This is sad. It's disgusting.
-
We have
-
so many resources, and this is what we
-
use them for.
-
It's horrible. And so,
-
and, by the way, the State of Colorado
-
is one of the top states in the
-
entire United States for human trafficking, too. Now,
-
part of that is because
-
we have made it easier for human trafficking
-
in the State of Colorado than most other
-
States. We pass laws constantly
-
that,
-
that make it easy for pedophiles to get
-
away with what they do. We take away,
-
penalties
-
for this. We take away penalties for,
-
the traffickers. We take away penalties for those
-
that are buying the children.
-
This is constantly what we do in the
-
United States.
-
And, it's it's sad, but it's it's reality
-
that Colorado leads the way in this subject.
-
And now, some states I need to be
-
fair. Some states are good about,
-
putting laws in place for this and to
-
to restrict this, but Colorado is is one
-
of the worst.
-
We made we've made that clear, and I
-
see this constantly, constantly
-
in the laws that are passed in Colorado.
-
Any time we try to bring up something
-
that would,
-
hinder pedophiles, hinder trafficking,
-
the Democrats shoot it down
-
100%
-
unanimously,
-
every single time.
-
It's,
-
it's horrible. And so
-
join us. If you can only be at
-
1 of the 2 days, do that. This
-
is going to be very beneficial, very educational.
-
You do have to sign up and there
-
is a charge.
-
I forget right offhand what the charge is,
-
but you go to the website, you can
-
go to events, the church website, go to
-
events, and go down, and under there will
-
be, General Flynn's,
-
thing. So
-
so hope to see you Friday, Saturday with
-
this.
-
So so, this morning, I I want to,
-
this is gonna be a little challenging for
-
us, I think.
-
Hopefully, it's convicting, but not just convicting, but
-
to the point where
-
it causes
-
a change of action, it causes something
-
to happen, okay?
-
I think that's a necessary, important part of
-
the process.
-
But but looking at where our country is,
-
and I wanna I wanna say give some
-
disclaimers for us before I jump into this.
-
It is
-
it is,
-
I think it's at a good place where
-
the country has come to, We're not there
-
yet. But where the church is starting to
-
wake up, we're starting to see,
-
Christians that are saying, wait a second, what
-
has been happening? Our country has got away
-
from us and we weren't paying attention.
-
Waking
-
up. And I think one of the most
-
important things that has contributed to this was
-
something, you know, it's kind of the the
-
scripture that says that what
-
Satan meant for evil, God meant for good,
-
is the
-
what Satan meant for evil, God meant for
-
good,
-
is the is the whole COVID
-
scam that was pulled on America.
-
What happened is kids started staying home, parents
-
started seeing
-
them do their work and those kind of
-
things, and they started realizing
-
that that, there's some there's some really bad
-
stuff going on in the schools. Not all
-
teachers, obviously. We have we have great teachers
-
in our city, we have great teachers in
-
our church, but that's not the norm nowadays,
-
okay?
-
And parents started to realize there's a lot
-
of a lot of bad stuff that's being
-
taught and being pushed through our school systems.
-
That was kind of the beginning. And part
-
of the reason I know that was the
-
major,
-
impetus
-
was because I I hear that anywhere I
-
go around the state and I speak. People
-
will come up to me every single event.
-
People will come up to me and say,
-
you know, I was not involved. I didn't
-
see this until
-
COVID.
-
And then my eyes were opened. There's some
-
other reasons, too. But what has happened with
-
this is the church,
-
There's some other reasons too.
-
But what has happened with this is the
-
church is starting to wake up.
-
Society in general is starting to wake up,
-
but specifically the church.
-
And the church is starting to say, wait,
-
we can't keep doing this. We can't keep
-
letting Satan destroy us, destroy our children, destroy
-
our country.
-
Now that's the disclaimer, because I'm gonna I'm
-
gonna kinda go a different direction with this
-
this morning. If we're not careful, what happens
-
is
-
we start to stand up and fight,
-
and we start which is necessary, which is
-
important, but we get a little confused as
-
to where the fight is and how we're
-
supposed to fight. And so
-
we start going after people.
-
And Ephesians,
Ephesians 6 chapter mention
-
chapter 6 tells us that people are not
-
actually the fight.
-
Now, this becomes challenging
-
when the person at the you know, that
-
is the head of a 1,000 people march
-
in
-
in New York that are saying they're the
-
transgender
-
grooming march that are chanting,
-
We're coming for your children.
-
When that is headed up by a person,
-
it's difficult
-
to separate
-
this battle is not against flesh and blood,
-
right? I understand that.
-
I I get that. I want to try
-
to help us process this a little bit.
-
And by the way, I I mentioned this
-
in the Capitol, in one of the times
-
I got up and spoke, and I mentioned
-
that they that they were chanting
-
by the thousands, chanting,
-
we're coming for your children. And the Speaker
-
of the House galloped me down and said,
-
that is not happening.
-
And I said, There's video. And she said,
-
That is not happening. I said, No, but
-
we have video. And she said, Please leave
-
the well. I said, Yes, ma'am. So
-
but this is
-
I understand that it is difficult to disseminate
-
this. It's difficult to separate.
-
We know we know scripture says we're not
-
fighting against flesh and blood, but it's flesh
-
and blood that that is
-
the face
-
of evil and and Satan's push in this
-
country.
-
Satan uses people. He doesn't do it in
-
a vacuum. He uses people.
-
And so what we have to do is
-
we have to make sure that who we
-
are,
-
is lining up with God's word and that
-
our heart and our mind is right before
-
God with all
-
all of this, and that we are fighting
-
the right way
-
rather than,
-
human way.
-
It is so easy for us to use
-
human weapons.
-
But the problem is we're human using human
-
weapons
-
against spiritual
-
realities.
-
Spiritual realities. That's the trick, right?
-
That's the that's the challenge. And so we're
-
gonna we're
-
gonna walk down through
-
Psalm 73.
-
And there's a handful of Psalms here that
-
are written by Esauf that
-
are kind of this they're a little bit
-
of the same thought processes.
-
It's,
-
like, I think it's Psalm 71 or 72
-
that talks about it's almost how depressed,
-
he's getting because of the stuff that's happening.
-
And so there's 3 or 4 Psalms right
-
here. Ron, I think you should go read
-
them. They're read them with that understanding, that
-
they kind of all fit together. But this
-
one I'm going to pull out, because I've
-
been reading this over and over and over
-
for months now,
-
trying to make sure that I have the
-
balance that I'm supposed to have, because it
-
is challenging.
-
It is difficult for me sometimes
-
to to to walk into the capital
-
or to have
-
conversations in our community
-
that are are conversations
-
almost,
-
back and forth debate
-
on whether we should murder our children.
-
I don't I I that's not a debate
-
to me. That is, you are wrong, you're
-
evil, that's demonic.
-
End of discussion.
-
But that's that's what we're doing.
-
These are the conversations. This is the stuff
-
that's going on.
-
And it is difficult for me to keep
-
my
-
my cool sometimes.
-
I've had people tell me this a lot,
-
but I had this conversation a couple weeks
-
ago.
-
Where this person came up and said, you
-
know, I watched the speeches that you give
-
and I see all this stuff, and you
-
are always so cool and calm and collected,
-
in the capitol. They were serious.
-
And I'm like, is that the way I'm
-
coming across? Because thank you. That is not
-
how I feel.
-
That is not how I feel.
-
And,
-
and I'm I'm not like an overly demonstrative
-
person, but still,
-
I wouldn't call it cool, calm, and collected.
-
But,
-
but it is difficult to keep your mind,
-
your spirit right, and keep the balance that
-
you need to have.
-
Guys, we are supposed to hate what is
-
evil. We're supposed to hate what is evil.
-
We're We're supposed to hate what is evil.
-
We're supposed to fight against what is evil.
-
But we've got to be careful that we're
-
not letting this get into our spirit in
-
a wrong way, and then also fighting
-
against
-
people.
-
We're fighting against evil,
-
Satan.
-
Okay? So Psalm 73,
-
I broke this into
-
4 I broke this into 4, sections. I
-
actually think it would work better in 6
-
sections, but it becomes a little laborious that
-
way. So, I simplified
-
it to this. But this is important. The
-
first two verses
-
set the stage for the entire psalm. Now,
-
this is when
-
you're studying something like this,
-
like the Psalms of David, he doesn't do
-
the same thing, right?
-
He, Esav, does a different he writes a
-
different way. And this is one of the
-
things that he does. This is his opening
-
to
-
versus what we call 2 versus
-
is the theme of the entire thing. It's
-
the point. And when he gets to the
-
end, he's going to come back to that.
-
He's going to arrive back at this, but
-
with a declaration of action. Okay? So
-
so understanding that as we're reading down through,
-
when you get through verses 3 through
-
16,
-
there's there's a lot of stuff going on
-
there. You got to keep in mind these
-
first two verses. First one, truly God
-
is good to Israel. And we understand that
-
that includes us too.
-
Truly God is good to you and I,
-
to those whose hearts are pure. God is
-
good. He's he's saying this upfront. This is
-
the point of the psalm. It's not going
-
to feel like that as we go through
-
that through this. But that's the point of
-
this thing, is that God is good.
-
And then he says, and this sets up
-
the this is the opposite, right? It's like
-
him saying, but however
-
Right? He says, but
-
as for me,
-
I almost lost my footing. God is good.
-
He is,
-
to those whose hearts are pure, he's gonna
-
take care of you, all these things. God
-
is good. But as for me, I almost
-
lost my footing.
-
My feet were slipping and I was almost
-
gone. I almost,
-
let me let me kind of help you
-
with the the next statement. I
-
almost gave in
-
to everything that he's gonna explain. I almost
-
gave in to all of this and lost
-
my way.
-
I almost did.
-
So we need to see what he's talking
-
about. What is what how did he almost
-
if we know that God is good
-
to to us, we keep our hearts and
-
our minds and our focus on God. If
-
we know that, then what is he saying
-
when he says, almost lost my footing? We
-
need to know that information. So verse 3,
-
for I envied the proud,
-
when I saw them prosper
-
despite their wickedness
-
I've experienced this and I think
-
every single Christian will deal with this. You
-
can't be a Christian for very long at
-
all before you will get frustrated with God
-
in a few different ways. And this is,
-
I think, the easiest and the biggest way
-
that Satan tries to manipulate us, is
-
he he makes you
-
assess
-
yourself in relationship
-
to other people. Okay? So when he says,
-
when he saw the proud and he saw
-
that they were prospering, what does that mean?
-
This isn't this is inherent within the statement,
-
is when you say that you see somebody
-
else prospering, what you are saying is in
-
direct relationship to you.
-
You're not just saying in some kind of
-
vacuum. In other words, if on a scale
-
from 1 to 10, you're prospering and this
-
does not just mean materialistically. Okay? This means
-
in a lot of different ways. In fact,
-
I think materialistically
-
is probably one of the least ways that
-
the psalmist is trying to address. He's talking
-
more about,
-
community relationship importance,
-
just being,
-
everything going their way kind of thing.
-
So if if if in a prosper or
-
blessing or God taking care of you kind
-
of way, you're on a scale of 1
-
to 10, you're about a 7 or 8.
-
And the evil around you
-
is being blessed at a 3 or a
-
4, you will not say this statement. This
-
doesn't come into your mind. The The moment
-
it begins to be addressed by you and
-
it becomes personal to you is when you're
-
at about a
-
5 and the
-
person down the road that you know
-
is doing bad things is a 5.2,
-
now you're upset.
-
Because it's in direct relationship to how you
-
are assessing
-
your existence,
-
not the big picture of life,
-
but you have specific people that you're processing
-
this with. And it can be people that
-
don't know you. I I part of the,
-
part of the conversation in my head since
-
the presidential debate has been this, is how
-
how how everybody has been processing the presidential
-
debate.
-
And here's the thing. Is I really and
-
I don't think I'm the only one. I
-
think every almost every one of us in
-
here could have figured this out. But you
-
could have written the you could have written
-
this script for this thing
-
before they did the debate.
-
It's amazing to me how many people online
-
are like, well, how could ABC act like
-
that? They just came after Trump.
-
I'm like, are you where have you been?
-
Where have you been? They didn't need Kamala
-
in that.
-
They didn't even need her there. They were
-
gonna take care of Trump. They gave her
-
all the questions ahead of time, prepped her,
-
and she barely, barely held her.
-
Guys,
-
this is the thing, is then we get
-
all upset. And, and here's what happens. And
-
I understand there's some legitimacy to this, but
-
I think, I think, I think the church
-
is going overboard. A lot of
-
ways, I think the Christians are going overboard.
-
We just rant and rave online. This is
-
horrible. And it's not like somebody opened up
-
your Facebook account and was like, ABC was
-
dishonest? What?
-
I don't know.
-
It's not like that's
-
and I understand. Sometimes, you just need to
-
say what is right and truth. I get
-
that. Okay? I get that. But I think
-
a lot of times, we're just ranting and
-
raving on on x or or Facebook or
-
something,
-
and it literally accomplishes nothing, except it just
-
accomplishes more anger between everybody. Everybody's more angry.
-
Even all the people that are all on
-
your side. You know, you put some on
-
Facebook and 10 other people read it, They
-
all agree with you a 100%, but at
-
the end, the only thing that happens is
-
everybody's more mad.
-
But are we doing something?
-
Are we trying to change something? Is there
-
some action taken
-
or are we confusing
-
verbalization
-
with no results as actual action?
-
And then do we let it get in
-
our spirit wrong? Is there other things that
-
come along with this?
-
He said, When I saw them prosper,
-
despite their wickedness, they seem to live such
-
painless lives. Really?
-
Their bodies are so healthy and strong.
-
Do you think maybe he's over exaggerating
-
here a little bit?
-
The evil people, they're always healthy and strong.
-
They're always better off. Everything is always better.
-
Verse 5, he says, they don't have troubles
-
like other people.
-
You realize okay. So let's go back to
-
the to the opening line. God is good
-
to those who truly go after him,
-
who truly want relationship with him. He is
-
revealing to you how he almost lost his
-
footing.
-
In other words, he almost
-
made a major failure mistake here.
-
This is how he's doing it, is he
-
is assuming in his mind, it's a it's,
-
projection kind of thing that that all of
-
the bad guys
-
are all
-
everything goes perfect for the bad guys.
-
Guys, I've done this.
-
I thought this way.
-
I felt this way. I have verbalized these
-
kind of things.
-
And it's not healthy. You you build a
-
you build a
-
a falseness that's unhealthy for you. It's it
-
hurts you. And it's not even true to
-
assume
-
that that, the evil people don't have troubles
-
like other people. And I'm not trying to
-
justify what evil people do. I I said
-
this a couple weeks ago, and I I
-
preached an entire message about it a few
-
months ago,
-
that there are evil people.
-
There are bad people on this planet. There
-
are bad people in your neighborhood. There are
-
bad people at your workplace, and they want
-
to hurt you. Some people, the only thing
-
that makes them happy is when they are
-
hurting other people.
-
Some people, the only thing that makes them
-
happy is when they are causing
-
confusion and dissension.
-
I've seen that even within marriages, that that
-
one of the
-
people in the marriage have to stir up
-
a problem where they don't feel good.
-
I know a couple years ago that that
-
they would fight so then they could make
-
up.
-
I'm like, skip the fight and just make
-
out.
-
Why?
-
Right? Doesn't that seem better? I don't understand.
-
But but we do this. We build, like,
-
this false
-
mentality
-
thing.
-
I don't know who I'll take
-
a piano turn.
-
Is that a
-
is that a commercial? Should I pause?
-
He says,
-
he says, they don't have trouble like other
-
people. They're not played with problems like everyone
-
else. Come on. They are.
-
But it's but see, it's easier to to
-
have pity. It's easy to feel sorry for
-
yourself
-
when you can build the other side
-
so
-
much better,
-
right? So much.
-
We do the same thing with
-
building the other side so much more evil.
-
I mean, there I'm not backing away from
-
where I started with this, guys. There is
-
abject evil in this world,
-
and it is attacking us, and it is
-
attacking our families, and it is attacking our
-
children, and we've got to stand up against
-
this. But there's a difference between
-
the actual demonic evil that Satan is trying
-
to destroy humanity with and and our neighbor
-
disagreeing with us and their dog pooping in
-
our yard.
-
That's not demonic.
-
K? It's not Satan did not plan that
-
whole thing to destroy your world and psyche.
-
You you understand what I'm saying? But we
-
but it's easier for us
-
to vilify other people because we're justified by
-
what we feel then.
-
We can we can kind of ramp up
-
our our,
-
how how bad it is for us and
-
how justified we are by saying and doing
-
things
-
that we shouldn't.
-
He said, They wore pride like a jeweled
-
necklace and clothed themselves with cruelty.
-
I looked in probably 10 other translations. This
-
is the only translation that I've been able
-
to find that has it worded like this.
-
It's interesting
-
Well, I don't
-
know why the translators came up with this
-
as their their statement.
-
Verse 7. These fat cats
-
have everything their hearts could ever wish for.
-
These fat cats.
-
All the other translations
-
say something along the lines of,
-
their,
-
their eyes bulge with all the things that
-
they have.
-
That's what it says. I don't know how
-
they got fat cats out of that,
-
but I can tell you they better not
-
go to Ohio.
-
Yeah, I went there.
-
I've been trying to think because I'm I'm
-
an opportunist. I like to
-
I like to look for opportunities.
-
I like to make money and do stuff
-
like that.
-
I've been trying to figure out how to
-
make cat bacon.
-
Too far?
-
Come on, guys. Focus. Talking about God's word
-
here.
-
Verse 8.
-
They scoff and speak only evil.
-
Again, there are going to be people in
-
your world
-
that they truly speak evil.
-
Okay. That's a reality.
-
Now, here's part of the conversation is you
-
really can't
-
change that.
-
But you can
-
decide how you're gonna react to that.
-
You can't change them.
-
They scoff and speak only evil. In their
-
pride, they seek to crush others.
-
They boast against the very heavens
-
and their words strut throughout the earth.
-
So the people are dismayed and confused,
-
drinking in all of their words. And see,
-
this is this is part of our problem.
-
This is part of our problem. This is
-
a major part of our problem in our
-
country, but it's also a major part of
-
the problem in the church
-
is so these so the people are dismayed
-
and confused. The people
-
are dismayed and confused. But why are they
-
dismayed and confused?
-
Not because these people are saying things, not
-
because they're cruel or evil or scoffing at
-
God and all this other stuff, it's because
-
the people
-
are drinking in their words.
-
They're buying it.
-
We we were watching the debate with our
-
our son
-
and our daughter-in-law here and
-
And,
-
and and Isaac has a hard time staying
-
quiet
-
during these kind of things.
-
Me, I'm much more mature and reserved.
-
And and like every other cynist, that's a
-
lie. She's lying.
-
And, and and and and we kept saying
-
I think all of us kept saying this.
-
How can people believe that stuff? How can
-
people well, here's the here's the reason why.
-
Because they choose to.
-
Because to everybody, every one of us in
-
this room, we choose to believe certain things.
-
Now you say, yeah. But but what I
-
choose to believe is based on truth. I
-
would agree. I'm not I'm not picking on
-
you. I don't know what you believe or
-
don't believe, but I do know this, we
-
choose whether we're gonna believe something or not.
-
That's not a that's not a, an arbitrary
-
thing that just happens.
-
You have to make a choice.
-
Do I believe this or do I believe
-
this?
-
Well, you're choosing. Now I think I I
-
think most I would like to say all,
-
but I I think that's probably, percentagewise,
-
not possible.
-
But I think most of what I believe
-
is actually based upon truth and fact. Okay?
-
I believe I think that. That's why I
-
believe what I believe.
-
I I believe what God's word says because
-
I I believe it to be truth. So
-
so I understand, you know, where my source
-
is, but at the end of the day,
-
I'm the one choosing this.
-
Our country right now is choosing to believe
-
a lot of stuff because there's a lot
-
of things that our country
-
does not actually believe in their heart,
-
but they're choosing to believe it.
-
No. Nobody,
-
nobody down in there, unless they are completely
-
blinded by Satan,
-
nobody believes at the end of the day
-
that you can change your sex.
-
Nobody believes that.
-
But that's why we use a word like
-
gender because we can cloud it up a
-
little bit, make it a little more confusing.
-
We can't exactly define it. But but now
-
now we've got a word that helps us
-
lie to ourself,
-
And then we drink in all the words
-
and then we're dismayed and confused, which causes
-
bigger problems.
-
Verse 11, what does God know? They ask.
-
I I love the fact that
-
the people question this. This is one of
-
the things the funny things for me that
-
has always been with atheists,
-
people that claim to be atheists. I just
-
don't really believe that there is such a
-
thing as an atheist. I think you gotta
-
try really, really hard to not believe in
-
something that God put within you in intuitively.
-
Okay?
-
But this is one of the big things
-
is how much they feel a need
-
to fight against
-
God and against the idea of God or
-
Christianity
-
or the Bible. And they'll spend their life
-
building the arguments and fighting against this.
-
I
-
I don't believe
-
in unicorns
-
unless I'm around my granddaughter and then I
-
get a little hazy on weather.
-
Do you believe in unicorns?
-
But you know what? It's not my life's
-
crusade
-
to disprove unicorns.
-
They're they're it's not real.
-
I can't say that publicly,
-
Arch.
-
There are children in the room. So you
-
understand what I'm saying. Right?
-
They they ask, how what does God know?
-
Does the most high even know what's happening?
-
The the fact that you are bringing God
-
into the subject is a weird
-
conversation you are only having with yourself.
-
Does does God even know what's going on?
-
If he's God, he does. If he's not,
-
why do you care?
-
Right?
-
Verse 12, look at all these wicked people
-
enjoying the life of ease while their riches
-
multiply.
-
And then verse 13, he kind of switches
-
gears because he goes back to himself. But
-
I'm gonna include it in the first category
-
here. Verse 13,
-
did I keep my heart pure for nothing?
-
Have you ever asked God things like this?
-
God, I'm trying to do everything right,
-
but everything happens bad to me and nothing
-
happens bad to the other guy.
-
Make it about us,
-
right? Did I keep myself innocent for no
-
reason? I've even tried to use the, pastor
-
Trump card on God. Right? God, I'm I'm
-
one of your chosen ones.
-
You know, you know how much better I
-
am
-
and everyone else, Lord?
-
God, I'm one of your I'm I've sacrificed
-
my whole life for you.
-
Right?
-
You've got those versions. You just don't have
-
the pastor Trump card.
-
It's a good one.
-
But
-
here's the thing. Do you really think God's
-
up there like, oh, wait. Yeah. You're right.
-
You're a pastor.
-
My bad.
-
Did I did I keep my heart pure
-
for nothing? Did I keep myself innocent for
-
no reason?
-
He's this is a pity party.
-
I get nothing but trouble all day long.
-
Every morning brings me pain.
-
Really? Is it is life really as bad
-
as you're making it out here to be?
-
Guys, be careful because when you when you
-
when you start doing this, you can find
-
everything wrong with everything. And then, you
-
everything wrong with everything. Instead of pausing long
-
enough to say, wait a second, I'm still
-
breathing
-
air God made. That's good. Right? I'm still
-
smelling flowers,
-
a
-
my deck out back to pray, because
-
I get to look at the mountains while
-
I'm praying. That's
-
That's way better than praying in a building
-
like this.
-
It's way better.
-
You know what's cool? Get up into the
-
mountains,
-
get by a little
-
stream,
-
and just sit there and talk to God.
-
You're in the middle of his amazingness.
-
Not buildings,
-
It's easy to worship the God that made
-
that. Get out of the the the caving
-
in mentality.
-
I get nothing but trouble
-
all
-
day long.
-
Every morning brings me pain. No, it doesn't.
-
It doesn't have to if you don't want
-
it to.
-
You're making those decisions.
-
If I had really spoken this way to
-
others, I would have been a traitor to
-
your people. God, you're letting all these other
-
people get away but you would never let
-
me get away with
-
this. So I tried to understand why the
-
wicked prosper, but what a difficult
-
task it is. And then he begins the
-
process of change. Remember, what is the first
-
sentence?
-
You are good.
-
God, you are good to me.
-
That's where he's trying to get back to.
-
But I almost
-
completely had a falling out.
-
And he switches, and this is the second
-
part,
-
verse 17. He begins the journey that he
-
needs to begin back.
-
Then I went into your sanctuary. Oh, God.
-
Then I went into your sanctuary.
-
I've heard this for years. Even when I
-
was a kid, I would hear this. Somebody
-
hadn't been in church in forever.
-
And something bad goes
-
wrong in their life. And they show up
-
to church. And I would hear
-
other people in the church there like their
-
every day.
-
And they would say, oh, did you see
-
so and so was there today? Well, you
-
know, this bad thing happened. That's the only
-
reason they were at church. And they would
-
say, oh, did you see so and so
-
was there today? Well, you know, this bad
-
thing happened. That's the only reason they were
-
at church.
-
This bad thing happened. That's the only reason
-
they were at church.
-
Okay? Good.
-
They chose the right choice.
-
What would you rather be saying?
-
Oh,
-
well, they chose drugs and they OD'd and
-
died
-
because that bad thing happened.
-
It's weird how we do this. But what
-
happens is we can say, well, I'm there
-
every week. Specifically, if you volunteer and you
-
work and you do a lot, I'm there
-
every week. And who are they to just
-
come walking in like this place belongs to
-
them?
-
Who does it belong to?
-
Great
-
One of the things that I pray when
-
I'm driving back and forth to the capitol,
-
I pray and I pray constantly, constantly, constantly.
-
When I'm by myself, I pray out loud.
-
When I'm with others, I just pray.
-
But
-
I pray, God, help my mind and my
-
spirit be in the right place
-
room. Because if you only see
-
the physical, the natural,
-
you stay there. You get caught up in
-
there and that's where you're living. It's where
-
you're living mentally, emotionally. That's what you're fighting
-
or not fighting.
-
And and that's where you're that's where the
-
the domain is.
-
But if you can if you can transcend
-
it, if you can step outside of that,
-
and you can see the bigger picture as
-
he's saying here, I finally understood the destiny
-
of the wicked. Now, he's not finished being
-
negative yet, but he but he is setting
-
up the right mindset now. God, when I
-
finally get to you, I begin to understand
-
the bigger picture.
-
And here's the bigger picture. This is still
-
the negative, but it's the beginning of the
-
bigger picture. Verse 18, truly you put them
-
on a slippery path
-
and send them sliding over the cliff to
-
destruction.
-
And here's where you should at least pause
-
and say, do I want that of other
-
people?
-
Think about what I'm saying. Because guys, here's
-
where here's where being truly a Christian and
-
letting God's grace first change you and then
-
you giving grace to others, this is where
-
it'll be convicting to us.
-
Do I really want them to slide over
-
a cliff of destruction?
-
Or could I have the argument that I
-
just want how they are wrong
-
put on display?
-
Right?
-
I I want it I want every
-
evil lie. I want everything to be brought
-
to light. I want it to be surfaced.
-
Not all mine, but everybody else's. I want
-
everything
-
to be brought to the surface. But do
-
I want them destroyed?
-
We're talking
-
deeper Christianity
-
stuff,
-
stuff that's much more challenging to deal with.
-
Do I want them to be destroyed? I
-
want what they're doing to be destroyed. And
-
if their business is bad, I want their
-
business to be destroyed.
-
You know, if they're trafficking kids and things
-
like that, I want that to be destroyed.
-
But do I want them
-
and here's the ultimate way to ask the
-
right question do I want them to go
-
to hell?
-
In an instant, they are destroyed, completely
-
swept away by terrors.
-
When you arise, oh Lord, you will laugh
-
at their silly ideas as a person laughs
-
at dreams in the morning.
-
And then he finally
-
makes the switch.
-
In verse 21,
-
this is the 3rd section. I realized my
-
heart was bitter.
-
That my heart was bitter and I was
-
all torn up inside. I realized I was
-
bitter, which means this goes all the way
-
back to verse 2. This is where he
-
almost
-
derailed.
-
This is where he almost
-
completely had the fall the falling out.
-
Is he let it get into his heart
-
as bitterness
-
to the point where he was okay with
-
them being destroyed.
-
Because we can't do that.
-
I know our country is very vitriolic right
-
now, and everybody's being put against, everybody else,
-
right? That,
-
everybody else,
-
right? That
-
there is, there is,
-
everything is, everything is racist and the race
-
baiters
-
are they're pitting us against each other.
-
Right? Everything is homophobic. Everything is, well, you
-
know, whatever.
-
You can understand
-
the agenda. You can see
-
the evil in the darkness, and we are
-
supposed to hate
-
hate
-
sin.
-
Difficult.
-
And he says,
-
then I realized my heart was bitter. The
-
problem wasn't all of those people.
-
The problem wasn't their cruelty or how they
-
were trying to hurt me or other people.
-
The problem is not actually that at the
-
end of the day. The problem is my
-
heart is bitter.
-
I'm still going to fight all against that
-
stuff. I'm not going to let that stuff
-
go away. I'm not going to let I'm
-
not going to I'm not going to let
-
them groom our children. I'm not.
-
I'm going to fight against that because it's
-
demonic.
-
But I also and this is where praying
-
all the way to the capitol and back
-
every day
-
can make the difference,
-
is I also
-
need to to understand that these people are
-
being manipulated by Satan, Maybe, maybe voluntarily, I
-
think a lot of them are. They know.
-
They know what they're doing. But Satan is
-
trying to destroy them and they can't see
-
that.
-
So I got a
-
to
-
see.
-
They
-
get
-
to
-
see. Then, not only do they stop doing
-
all the bad stuff and stop trying to
-
hurt kids and stop all the,
-
the evil, now they're actually going to fight
-
against it.
-
I've got a great message I'm putting together
-
about the very first speaker of the house,
-
the United States, very first guy ever that
-
was a speaker of the house. Now,
-
look at what he says. I
-
Now, look at what he says. I realized
-
that my heart was bitter. I was all
-
torn up inside. I was so foolish
-
and ignorant.
-
I love it when guys in the Bible
-
say things about themselves that I say about
-
me regularly.
-
Makes me feel good.
-
You ever Have you ever said to yourself,
-
man, that was stupid.
-
You're just being dumb,
-
Right?
-
Why? Because
-
we are. That's the reason.
-
There you go.
-
He says,
-
I was so foolish and ignorant. And then
-
he says, to God, I must have seemed
-
like a senseless animal to you.
-
I must have seemed like a complete idiot
-
to you, God.
-
And you know,
-
I've said that to God and it's amazing
-
how quiet God gets at that moment.
-
He's not coming to my defense. No, Scott.
-
You're not an idiot.
-
He's just
-
Right? Because why? Guys, when we actually allow
-
the stuff that Satan is trying to do
-
to destroy us, to get in our heart
-
and begin to destroy us, we're the ignorant
-
ones.
-
We're the foolish ones
-
because that is Satan's goal and he is
-
being successful
-
and we're allowing it to happen. See, here's
-
the thing about bitterness.
-
Nobody can make you bitter.
-
Only you can make you bitter.
-
Nobody
-
can they People can do things to you,
-
but nobody can make you unforgiving.
-
Only you can make use yourself unforgiving.
-
Satan does things. He's gonna constantly do stuff
-
to us. Why? Because he wants to destroy
-
us. He wants to steal, kill, and destroy.
-
But he cannot
-
make you
-
be angry at God.
-
He cannot make you hate other people.
-
He cannot make you be bitter.
-
Bitter. We embrace that. We choose
-
that.
-
We choose to to go down the road
-
that Satan is paving for us.
-
Verse 23, yet I still belong to you.
-
You hold my right hand. Even though I
-
am ignorant and I am doing the wrong
-
things, you're still full of grace, and you're
-
gonna hold my hand. And guys, that's where
-
he's trying to get to with this.
-
We cannot let satan manipulate us
-
in this in this fight. Our our our
-
country is is in a horrible, horrible bad
-
place.
-
I don't believe we go by the Constitution
-
anymore, the rule of law, or any of
-
this kind of stuff.
-
All of this stuff, I had I had
-
so many
-
people from other states
-
calling me and asking I'm talking about,
-
representatives, elected officials from other states that are
-
calling me and asking me about what's going
-
on in Aurora.
-
And the media now in Denver is really
-
doubling down and trying to say, oh, there's
-
nothing to see here.
-
Are you even watching that? It's getting worse
-
and worse. Nothing to see here. They've taken
-
over entire car the Venezuelan gangs have taken
-
over entire car apartment complex and they actually
-
have people that they have
-
kept inside,
-
kidnapped and kept inside
-
of these apartments. And this is on video.
-
People have this stuff. This is not something
-
that people are thinking might be the case.
-
K. This is happening.
-
But it's interesting how all of this stuff
-
is being covered up. All of these people
-
are trying to do this kind of stuff.
-
But you know what? I have learned at
-
the end of the day
-
is that even if I even if I'm
-
going to buy into all of that stuff
-
and be ignorant, I'm going to let this
-
get into my spirit or what. But you
-
know, God will God will extend grace to
-
me.
-
He will still extend grace to
-
me. If you say, well, well, I don't
-
believe this has happened. Okay. God will still
-
extend grace to you.
-
Understand the difference in the fight. I'm not
-
going after people. I'm going I'm going after
-
the evil and the sin. I'm going after
-
the junk
-
that has become
-
our state and our country.
-
Our country is
-
our country is
-
we don't
-
I know I keep using this example, but
-
our president's not even running the country. I
-
believe and the people have different views about
-
this, but I believe the World Economic Forum
-
is running our country. That means people from
-
other countries are running our country. The reason
-
I'm
-
saying all of this is the church has
-
got
-
to stop playing games. And the church has
-
got to stop playing games. And the church
-
has got to stop playing games. And the
-
church has got to stop playing games. And
-
the
-
is the church has got to stop playing
-
games.
-
We need to be serious.
-
We need to start really praying I saw
-
online a group of people that actually groups
-
all over the country that got together during
-
the debate and rather watch rather than watch
-
the debate and get mad, they all got
-
together and prayed
-
during the debate.
-
And I thought, there you go.
-
That's what we're supposed to be doing. That's
-
how you fight. All I did was sit
-
and listen to my son get mad the
-
whole time.
-
But but I'm I'm hoping one of these
-
days he grows up
-
and be more like his daddy.
-
But here's the thing, guys. Those people praying,
-
they figured it out. That's how you fight.
-
That's how you do this is who the
-
this is who the church needs to be,
-
is we've got to stop playing petty little
-
games with everybody
-
on Facebook
-
and and and x and,
-
and Instagram and and that have
-
no bearing whatsoever on anything except makes everybody
-
mad.
-
And instead,
-
begin to really get in and fight. Get
-
your word open and pray through the word.
-
Pray through the things where Jesus says that
-
all government rests upon his shoulders.
-
Pray that over our country.
-
Guys, I I don't know what's gonna happen
-
in November, but I keep saying this and
-
I stand on this.
-
They are not
-
going to let Trump in the White House.
-
They are not going to let that man
-
get there
-
because he will destroy them,
-
and they know it.
-
The people
-
will will will tear this stuff down and
-
rebuild our country the way it needs to
-
be rebuilt.
-
They cannot let him get to the White
-
House. So you say, well, then what happens?
-
I don't know what's gonna happen. I do
-
know this. The vice president, the one who
-
ratifies the election,
-
she's gonna ratify her own election.
-
They're not gonna let him get there. That
-
means between now November, things are gonna get
-
worse and November, it's gonna blow up. And
-
guys, the church better be ready to be
-
the church because it could get crazy violent
-
in our country.
-
It could get crazy violent.
-
We don't need that.
-
We need the church
-
needs to have our eyes open and be
-
doing the right things at the right time,
-
not letting pettiness and bitterness and anger rule
-
the day.
-
We need to be the people of God.
-
All of us,
-
not a small group, but all of us
-
be the people of God.
-
That needs to start long before
-
election day.
-
We've got to figure this out.
-
He says, you guide me with your counsel,
-
leading me to a glorious destiny.
-
Anybody else. I've got God. I don't need
-
anybody else. I desire you more than anything
-
on earth. Is that is that our defining
-
statement?
-
Truth for you, you need to get on
-
your face before God because that's the only
-
hope
-
for you and that's the only hope for
-
those around you,
-
relational, anything that you could put as a
-
priority in your life. Lord,
-
I
-
desire you more.
-
My health may fail. Now, this is interesting
-
because he's finally coming full circle. At the
-
first, he was like, well, the wicked never
-
gets sick. Now, he's got it. He's figured
-
it out. Even
-
not about whether somebody else is not
-
getting sick.
-
It's not about whether somebody else is getting
-
something.
-
It's not about somebody else. It's do you
-
desire the Lord more than anything?
-
That's that's the point.
-
And he finishes it up with an action.
-
I'm gonna tell
-
people
-
how awesome God is. Verse 27. Those who
-
desert him will perish,
-
for you destroy those who abandon you. But
-
as for me, I can't do anything about
-
them. But as for me,
-
how good it is to be near God,
-
I have made the sovereign Lord my shelter.
-
And I will tell everyone
-
about the wonderful things you do.
-
I will tell everyone.
-
Why? Because he's the only hope. When everybody's
-
fighting, innergetic Jesus.
-
Guys, your only hope is Jesus.
-
I've said that to so many,
-
married couples over the years.
-
If you will repent and turn to Jesus
-
but heshe
-
If you will repent and turn to Jesus,
-
you can save this thing.
-
It's the same with our country.
-
As if you repent
-
and turn to Jesus,
-
we can save our country.
-
We can save our country.
-
God, we need you
-
so much more than we we even know.
-
Lord, I think this thing is crumbled even
-
farther than we can see. Lord, I think
-
this thing is crumbled even farther than we
-
can see. Lord, I think this thing is
-
crumbled even farther than we can see. Lord,
-
I think this thing is crumbled even
-
crumbled even farther than we can see.
-
God, that doesn't change you. You're still in
-
charge.
-
You're still
-
God.
-
You still rule
-
and reign.
-
You are still sovereign.
-
That there is nothing that's happening on the
-
planet
-
that is escaping you. There's no evil. There's
-
no plans that is that is getting by
-
you.
-
Or do you know everything,
-
and you're still in control.
-
So Lord Jesus, we trust you.
-
We trust you.
-
We need You.
-
Lord, I pray for my heart with this,
-
and I pray for every one of us
-
in here
-
that I truly
-
desire You
-
more than anything.
-
And Lord, if I don't reveal that to
-
me, show it to me.
-
I desire you
-
more than anything.
-
I need you more than anything.
-
Lord, help me to love you more than
-
anything.
-
In Jesus' name.
-
God, I pray against
-
any kind of bitterness.
-
I pray against anything that builds that we
-
allow to build up in our heart
-
against people.
-
Lord, I don't want the bad guys to
-
win
-
but I don't want them to go to
-
hell.
-
Lord, I pray you tear down their kingdoms,
-
and in doing so, you save their souls.
-
In the name of Jesus.
-
God, help it not to get into my
-
spirit. And I pray this for every one
-
of us. God, I I I rebuke
-
the spirit of of bitterness and anger and
-
unforgiveness.
-
I rebuke that.
-
God, deliver us from that.
-
Save us from that.
-
Cleanse our minds and our hearts,
-
so that so that we don't let anger
-
and hate rule so much.
-
God, it seems so prevalent in our country
-
right now.
-
Help us to get away from
-
it, in the name of Jesus.
-
Communion, I think, I think what we
-
should do when
-
we take
-
communion is we ask for
-
forgiveness.
-
We're remembering that Jesus died on the cross
-
for us.
-
That's the point.
-
If you need communion, if you didn't grab
-
one when you came in, raise your hand
-
real quick and they'll bring you.
-
Brainwashed.
-
This is the,
-
this is the point of community. It's to
-
say
-
I remember
-
I'm remembering that when you died on the
-
cross, you did it to say
-
So we're gonna, we're gonna
-
tie this up together this morning
-
by just asking the Lord just to wash
-
us with his blood.
-
Just cover us, forgive us.
-
Stuff to control me. I want Jesus to
-
be God over my life,
-
right?
-
On the night when he was betrayed, the
-
Lord Jesus took some bread
-
and he gave thanks to God for it,
-
then he broke it into pieces. Think about
-
when he broke this into pieces.
-
So this had been this is Passover and
-
it had been celebrated for,
-
remembered and celebrated for literally centuries,
-
a couple thousand few 1000 years.
-
And there's the point in in the middle
-
every time where they take at the end
-
and it's it's not like bread,
-
like yeast bread. It's non yeast bread. It's
-
flat, like cracker. Right? If you've ever been
-
at our Seder dinner, that's matzo bread.
-
And,
-
he takes and breaks this. Do you think
-
about this? When he breaks this, he realizes
-
the next thing that's going to be broken
-
is him.
-
He knows that,
-
and he does it.
-
Because the whole point is you and I.
-
The whole point is those disciples sitting there
-
that he wants them to know, I'm gonna
-
be broken for what reason so that you
-
can be put together. You can be made
-
whole. Said, this is my body which is
-
given for you. Do this in remembrance of
-
me. God, we thank you for what this
-
little piece of bread represents.
-
That it represents you, that it represents you.
-
It
-
That it represents you
-
being brutalized
-
for me.
-
Lord, I thank you for that.
-
I'm completely indebted to you for this.
-
I can never repay you.
-
Lord, I also know you didn't do it
-
for that. You did it just because you
-
love me.
-
So Lord, thank you.
-
Thank you for our healing
-
that you provide with this,
-
in Jesus name.
-
Let's take the bread together.
-
In the same way, he took the cup
-
of wine
-
after supper saying, this cup is the new
-
covenant
-
between God and his people,
-
an agreement confirmed
-
with my blood. It is it is bound
-
contractually with his blood.
-
Do this in remembrance of me as often
-
as you drink
-
it. For every time you eat this bread
-
and drink this cup, you're announcing the Lord's
-
death until he comes again.
-
Jesus, thank you for forgiveness.
-
Thank you for your blood.
-
Me. I pray for all of us. Convict
-
us of the things that we know
-
are not
-
right.
-
Convict us, Lord,
-
and we wanna get them right with you.
-
In Jesus'
-
name, wash us clean,
-
covers with your blood.
-
Let's take the drink together.
-
Thank you so much, Jesus.
-
Thank you for your grace.
-
Thank you for your mercy. And I pray
-
that we will be a people
-
that stand up for your word, your truth,
-
your righteousness,
-
and your justice.
-
But Lord, I pray that we do it
-
with your heart,
-
your compassion and love for the lost.
-
Lord, help us to tell people
-
how wonderful you are,
-
in the name of Jesus.
-
God, help it not to get into our
-
heart
-
and become bitterness and unforgiveness.
-
Lord, thank you.
-
Thank you for your grace.
-
Help us to extend it to others.
-
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
-
Amen. Before noon tomorrow,
-
God's gonna give you the opportunity
-
to tell somebody how wonderful God is.
-
Take the chance. Step out there a little
-
bit and just tell them.
-
Tell them something.
