  1. So the study is as time passes, and it's James

  2. 5, 7 through 11. Okay. Thank you. All right.

  3. So we're going to fill in the blanks. Okay. So

  4. here's how we're going to do it. We're going

  5. to go around the room, and you'll be the first

  6. person to get to guess at the next blank. Okay.

  7. You can pass. If you don't know it, that's fine.

  8. No harm done. And if you get it, you'll get a

  9. ticket. All right. So I'm going to start with

  10. you, Tony Tate. The first one is. Therefore be.

  11. That's correct. That's fine. That helps you out.

  12. Everyone put patient in the blank. This is your

  13. ticket. Yep. If you get a prize and you don't

  14. want it, you can give it to somebody else. Okay.

  15. Donyell, do you know what that next word might

  16. be? It says, therefore, be patient. It starts

  17. with a B. Look, Thomas has got a Bible there.

  18. It might be in there. He's got it in the letter.

  19. Brothers. Yes. Brethren or brothers. Okay. So

  20. this is Donyell's ticket. Donyell, I don't remember

  21. what your last name is. Dennis. Okay. D .D. That'll

  22. be easy to remember, too. All right. So it's,

  23. therefore, be patient, brethren, until the coming

  24. of the... Thomas? Lord. That was an easy one.

  25. Brethren or brothers. Okay. I have a ticket up

  26. here for you when you're ready, Thomas. Okay.

  27. Solo, back to you. The farmer waits for the precious.

  28. Starts with a P. Okay. Carrie, you want to try

  29. it? The farmer waits for the precious what? It's

  30. a word we don't use very much anymore, but if

  31. you think about the grocery store, you might

  32. get it. What does a farmer make? Starts with

  33. a P. No, that's a baker. What do you think, Gabby?

  34. Do you know what a farmer makes? No, that's more

  35. like a baker, I think. Although, I mean, maybe

  36. at birthday time, the farmer might bake a cake.

  37. It's probably a good idea. All right, Aaron,

  38. what do you got? P. Produce. Produce is correct.

  39. Like as in the produce department in the grocery

  40. store? Yep. The farmer waits for the precious

  41. produce of the soil, being patient about it until

  42. it gets the early and late rains. You two be,

  43. Caitlin, patient. So that's patient again. Is

  44. everybody keeping up okay? I'm just going to

  45. put Erin instead of A .S. because we have a lot

  46. of A .S.'s. Erin and Kate. I put bunny in the

  47. bottom right corner of my CWLT. Oh, awesome.

  48. All right. You two be patient. Now we've got

  49. an S, and we're to Ariana. It's a tough one.

  50. If you look at the way it's written in context,

  51. it might help you. Okay, then that might help

  52. you. What would you do with what you put in H?

  53. If it starts with an S, think about what you

  54. might do with that. Nope, it's not saved. Yes,

  55. it is the NASV translation. Strengthen. Strengthen

  56. is correct. And no one ever said you couldn't

  57. look at the Bible. Good job. All right? Funny.

  58. All right? Now you've got to take it up here

  59. when the time comes. Okay, we'll strengthen your...

  60. What do you think, Abby? Starts with an H. Strengthen

  61. your... You should have let her look at the Bible.

  62. Hearts. Strengthen your hearts. Okay. Abby gets

  63. another ticket. Pile developing. For the coming

  64. of the Lord is near. So it's coming. Okay. Do

  65. not. Starts with a C. And Tommy. Do not complain.

  66. Complain is correct. Do not complain, brethren,

  67. against one another. So that, this is probably

  68. the hardest one if you're not looking at the

  69. Bible, and Mike got it. What do you got, Mike?

  70. It starts with a Y. You're jumping ahead. No.

  71. It's one word. What's longer, though? It's kind

  72. of you, but it's kind of longer. Think multiple

  73. yous. Yourselves. Yes. It's yourselves is the

  74. word. It's possible. I mean, I copied and pasted,

  75. so it seems unlikely, but it could happen. Okay.

  76. So it's that yourselves, or you yourselves, I'll

  77. put a little carrot there, may not be River.

  78. Judged is correct. We're on our way across the

  79. room. Got a big pile up here. Behold, the judge

  80. is Kashawn. I'm doing them in order. Standing

  81. is correct. I'm doing everybody in order. But

  82. we'll have some extras at the end, I think. Okay,

  83. I'll go back to anybody that wanted to take another

  84. shot at it. Okay, so the judge is standing right

  85. at the Haley. Door is correct. The judge is standing

  86. right at the door. Now, this next one is kind

  87. of tucked in there. Door is on there. Oh, that's

  88. right. I'm sorry. I forgot it. Okay. All right.

  89. Then the next one is kind of tucked into the

  90. crossword puzzle. Do you see it? It says as and,

  91. and then it starts with E. What do you think,

  92. Holly? Example is correct. I give her a cheat.

  93. She got the free one. I gave her the ticket already.

  94. Okay. So then it's Brethren of... Starts with

  95. an S, Chris. Suffering. And P, Hannah. Say it

  96. again. Patience is correct. Everybody getting

  97. it? I'm going to go too fast. Probably going

  98. too fast for me. Okay, so... It says, as an example

  99. of suffering and patience, then, take the...

  100. Starts with a P, Jaden. Prophets. Correct. Take

  101. the prophets. So they're an example of suffering

  102. and patience. The prophets. Who? Solo. Spook.

  103. Is correct. In the name of the Lord, we... Starts

  104. with a C. Did anybody not get theirs that wanted

  105. to try? 20 to 8? Consider. No. Although it could

  106. be. That could be what's there, but it's not,

  107. Sherry. Count. We count. Let's just consider.

  108. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. That'll be even funnier later.

  109. Okay. We count those blessed who endured. You

  110. have heard of the... Starts with an E. Chris.

  111. Endurance is correct. Okay. Of Job and have seen

  112. the O. Solo. Correct. Of the Lord's D. Holly.

  113. Dealings is correct. That's a weird word that

  114. we don't use anymore, but it's a good fight.

  115. Okay. That the Lord is full of starts with a

  116. C. Chicken. I don't think you've got enough chicken

  117. in the world to fill up the Lord. Tommy. Say

  118. it again. Compassion. Compassion is correct.

  119. Compassion is C -O -M -P -A -S -S -I -O -N. Calm.

  120. C -O -M -P -A -S -S -I -O -N. And is Natalie.

  121. Merciful. Okay. Sure. Which one? Example. As

  122. in example. Suffering. I'm like, what are you

  123. talking about? But she got it. Okay. Abby, look

  124. around the room. Do you know everyone's name

  125. in the room pretty much? Okay. Come here. I'm

  126. going to let you pass these tickets out for me.

  127. And then I'll give you a ticket for passing all

  128. the tickets out. How about that? Yeah, I should

  129. have my first names on it. I tried to do first

  130. names. If she gets stuck, we'll help her. Okay,

  131. so now we're going to start on the crossword

  132. puzzle. We'll stop in the middle of the crossword

  133. puzzle after she gets that done to do another

  134. stunt. Say that again. Okay. All right, so we're

  135. going to keep doing the same thing. If you can

  136. guess it, we'll keep making tickets. All right,

  137. so the first one is one down, and we're going

  138. to start on this side of the room with Haley

  139. over here. I will tell you that you will find

  140. that most of the words that are in the crossword

  141. puzzle are from what you just did. So that might

  142. be a good clue, right? So the clue is made it

  143. through starts and we don't have any letters.

  144. So what do you got? Made it through. It's in

  145. the verse. Going once. Going twice. To Sean.

  146. Can you do it? This is a hard one. There's no

  147. letters to work with. Made it through. I'm going

  148. to go in order. I'll go three at a time and then

  149. somebody can guess. Say it again. Nope. Can you

  150. guess it? We'll be at Mike in a minute. Solo's

  151. got his hand up. Go. Not endurance, although

  152. that was the word we actually put on there, Holly.

  153. Nope. Does that fit? No, it's not patient. Anybody

  154. got it? Endured. Endured. Yep. Okay, and then

  155. you'll notice, don't do anything with it yet,

  156. but you'll notice that there is an E in the circle.

  157. Okay? But it's not the first letter, so don't

  158. put it down yet. The first letter is to the left.

  159. Yep. E -N -D -U -R -E -D. Oh. Okay. And then,

  160. so we're going to go two down. Again, no letters

  161. on there to help you. So, two down. Still there.

  162. Anybody got it? Okay, we're going to go back

  163. to Mike. Mike, you got it? Still there. Eight

  164. letters. Still there. And it's all, it's in the

  165. verse. Once we start getting some letters to

  166. help us, it'll be easier. Okay, Nat. Say it again.

  167. Standing is correct. Good job. Okay, so now,

  168. instead of keeping going on the downs, we'll

  169. do that seven across. So we've got endured down

  170. from the top on the right, and we've got standing

  171. down. Now seven across is verdict rendered, and

  172. it's Holly. We're going across now. Judged is

  173. correct. Okay. So now we've got endured, we've

  174. got standing, and we've got judged. Okay. So

  175. let's go down to, is that nine across? Because

  176. we've got a letter in that one. Okay. Nine across,

  177. and we're to Chris. Make more able. I'll get

  178. you in a second. If Chris doesn't get it, strengthen.

  179. Right. Strengthen. Make more able is to strengthen.

  180. OK, so now we have a letter in three down. Not

  181. very much, but it's there. All right. So we're

  182. to Hannah. Need three down. There is an S way

  183. down in there somewhere in the fifth and the

  184. sixth space. You have an S in the sixth space.

  185. Love. Compassion is correct. Okay. Three down.

  186. Yeah, it goes, number one was all the way to

  187. the right, then two, then three, up going across.

  188. So, compassion. Okay. Alright. Jaden, you're

  189. up. Which one would you like? Pick one, quickly.

  190. Say it again. 16. There is no 16 across. 16 down?

  191. I think it's 10. Ten across. Yep, I see it, yep.

  192. And what is it? Suffering. Suffering, that's

  193. correct. Okay. All right. Coming to the middle

  194. of the room at Tommy. Can you do, you said you

  195. worked ahead, right? Can you do four down? Yay,

  196. caught ya. Output based on labor. Produce. Very

  197. good. So that one, four down, is output based

  198. on labor. Okay. How about five across, Solo?

  199. An entry barrier. Door is correct. Is that what

  200. you said? Did I do it right? I'm sorry. Okay.

  201. Yep, it's a door. Now, it's funny when you think

  202. about it. People don't realize. People think

  203. doors are the way you go into somewhere, but

  204. that's not actually true. You go through doorways.

  205. Doors are what keeps you out. Think about it.

  206. It's not really the way most people think. Oh,

  207. I need a door so I can get in. What you really

  208. need is a doorway. You don't really need a door.

  209. You need a doorway. Okay, anyway. That was funny.

  210. All right. How about... Six down, Sherry. Multiple

  211. of you to you. Yourselves. A big long word. Y

  212. -O -U -R -S -E -L -V -E -S. Yourselves. Now we

  213. have a lot of letters to go through. Six down.

  214. It's on the left -hand side going down. Okay.

  215. What is that one? Cross. Okay, eight across,

  216. Caitlin. Merciful is correct. M -E -R -C -I -F

  217. -U -L. That was eight across. It's all the way

  218. on the left. It's the one above the as an example.

  219. Okay, I'm going to stop right there. Do a stunt.

  220. That's about halfway. Hopefully we'll get something

  221. we haven't seen before that'll be fun. Okay.

  222. Alright, so this is a... Kind of a challenging

  223. stunt that involves three cups, so we can only

  224. have three people try it once. Hold on one second

  225. while I get you ready. Okay. Does this involve

  226. throwing and catching? Does that happen? This

  227. is one of those, huh? Okay. So we've got to do

  228. a stack of shots. Let me show it a picture. Down.

  229. Does that work? It's supposed to work. Okay.

  230. So you're going to stack them like that. I'm

  231. going to give you the pieces of paper. Yep. The

  232. paper is the stuff. Yeah, you have to put paper

  233. in between them. Are we going to be pulling people

  234. out from them? Yes. I knew it. Okay, yep. Alright,

  235. so you have 60 seconds. to remove the pieces

  236. of paper without the cups falling over. If the

  237. cups fall over, you have to start back from this

  238. position to try again. Are we allowed to touch

  239. the cups? No. Hold on, let me double check. Technically,

  240. you can touch the cups. You just can't hold the

  241. cups. So you can't hold them, but you can put

  242. your finger against it to keep it from sliding.

  243. Okay. Okay? Ready? Set? Go. Go on. Yeah, you

  244. got it. You got to start over. She had it, too.

  245. Riverhead fell at the last possible second. Just

  246. put your finger in here so it doesn't slide.

  247. There you go. You got it. You can do it, Nick.

  248. You can do it, Abby. You can do it. I did it.

  249. Just a little harder. I did it. Don't hold it.

  250. Okay. Put your finger in here so it doesn't slide

  251. slowly. But you can't slide slowly. Yeah, like

  252. that. Push harder with your finger. All right,

  253. next three people that want to try. Abby, you

  254. can start passing out my papers one more time.

  255. There will be no wrestling for whose turn it

  256. is. Okay. Alright. Set them up the way they were.

  257. You saw what to do. Stop shaking my writing surface.

  258. You need the paper. Gotta put the papers in there.

  259. Where's my papers? I don't know. My name is not

  260. Adam, it's Gavin. Get them set up first and then

  261. I'll give you the timer. How are you supposed

  262. to do that? Not magic, science. Okay, wherever

  263. you get to draw from the box one time. Oh, blank.

  264. It's blank. Draw another one. Blank again. Keep

  265. going. We'll have much more if you keep that

  266. up. Blank. How is that even possible? You're

  267. so good at that. Oh. No, blank. Okay. Huh? Alright,

  268. there you go. Abby, draw one from the box. Who

  269. is it? Who's RM? Oh, Ron. No, I don't think Ron.

  270. Can you pass these ones out for me, Abby? Oh,

  271. he passed out. Are you ready? Are you ready?

  272. Who's my third person? Michael, are you doing

  273. this? Michael, are you doing this or not? Quit

  274. making everybody wait. All right, you have 60

  275. seconds to pull them out. You cannot hold the

  276. cups. You can use one finger and touch the cup

  277. to keep it from sliding. You can't hold the cups.

  278. Yes, you start from the beginning. You can do

  279. that, but you cannot grab the cups with two fingers.

  280. Ready? Yeah. Go. Nope. Finish. No problem. No

  281. problem. Starting over. There's three. Draw one

  282. from the box. Alright. Oh, it's Blint. Set it

  283. over here and draw another one. Still got 16

  284. seconds, Mike. It's Blint. There's three. Draw

  285. one from the box. That's fine. This is Josh,

  286. right? Nope. This is Josh, right? So that's it.

  287. Yeah, you can start over. You've only got like

  288. five seconds. I don't think you're going to make

  289. it. You'll get a freebie. Here you go. Take your

  290. ticket. Draw one from the box. Maybe you'll draw

  291. your name. That's Tim Hunley. Right here. Don't

  292. draw a name. Alright, these are yours. This is...

  293. R -E? R -E. Is that River? I think it is. River,

  294. what's your... Is it R -E? R -J? Who's R -E?

  295. Anyway, they're not here. That's all that matters.

  296. Okay, that's it. We're done. Moving on. Alright,

  297. back to the crossword puzzle. And who are we

  298. up to? I forgot who's next. Who did one last?

  299. Solo, right? You went last, so it'll be Sherry.

  300. How about we do... Were you last? Was he last?

  301. Okay, so you're next. Alright, give me 11 across.

  302. Oh, 11 down. Sorry, 11 down. What kind of power

  303. is that? It's on the left -hand side. Count!

  304. 11 down is count. C -O -U -N -T. For the kids

  305. in the room, the clue was the Sesame Street Vampire.

  306. He's the guy. He's like, count, count! Alright.

  307. Yes. And then we'll go to Abby. Can you do 14

  308. across? The second letter is an N. And the clue

  309. is one more. What do you think, Abby? You have

  310. one, and then if you have one more, you might

  311. say, I have, uh... What? Another. Correct. Okay.

  312. Another it is. And you got the T -H -E in the

  313. circles there. Okay. Did we do 11 across yet?

  314. There is no 11 across. Oh, there's no 11 across.

  315. Yeah. Well, what is that? What's the number for

  316. that word there then? Is it 13? Yes. Okay. Thank

  317. you. We got to work it out. All right. Okay,

  318. so who are we at? Ariana. 13 across is verbally

  319. expressing displeasure. And we know that the

  320. second letter is an O. How does someone verbally

  321. displeasure? What? Complain is correct. Complain

  322. is correct. Okay, do we have the whole top half

  323. then? I think we do. 18 across. It's a hard one.

  324. Thomas, do you know it? The second letter is

  325. an E. That's all you have. It's a hard one. It

  326. all comes from the verse. The clue is what went

  327. on. What went on is toward the bottom of the

  328. verse. It's on the next to the last line on the

  329. paper. It says you have heard of the endurance

  330. of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's...

  331. See it? His translation has a different word

  332. there, that's why. The answer is dealings. I'm

  333. giving him a ticket because he had it, but his

  334. translation says the purpose of the Lord. Okay.

  335. How about 17 across? Okay, I'm making that hard

  336. on you if we do it that way, huh? How about 11

  337. down? Can you do 11 down, Donya? We did that?

  338. Okay, so you do have the O. So you have 17 across,

  339. starts with an O. You know what it is, Donya?

  340. It's results. Over all the way over on the right.

  341. Okay, so we had not done it. It's actually 12.

  342. Okay, well, anyway, it starts with an O. We gave

  343. it to you now. Wait, does that add some results?

  344. No. We're looking at those results. I don't know

  345. if you can add it. Here. And it starts with an

  346. O. And that includes results. Do you know what

  347. this is? All right, so the answer is outcome.

  348. Outcome. All right. Okay, now. We had not actually

  349. done 12 down. And we're to Tony Tate. Made it

  350. all the way back across the room again. Gotcha.

  351. Spoke for guns here. Prophets. Prophets is correct.

  352. I'm just going to put T .T. Nobody else has that

  353. initials. Yep. Super. You need T .T. Okay. And

  354. what is that next one that's across there? 19

  355. across. 19 across begins with an E. Jaden. Example

  356. is correct. Look at that. You nailed it. Okay.

  357. Almost there. What does that bottom mean? That's

  358. a cross. 22 across. 22 across starts with an

  359. S. Hannah, can you do it? 22 across starts with

  360. an S. The clue is put to work their voices. Spoke

  361. is correct. Almost there. Thank goodness. Okay.

  362. Oh, here's a really important one. 21 down. We

  363. do not have any letters. It's a four -letter

  364. word. It means leader. Chris? Lord is correct.

  365. Holly, can you do the 24 across that ends in

  366. D? Heard is correct. We're getting there. Gotta

  367. go a little faster so we can finish it up. Okay.

  368. What is 23 across? The next to the last letter.

  369. Do we have that? Or no? We don't have any letters

  370. in it? No, we're gonna not do that one yet then,

  371. huh? It is coming. Let's just fill it in. 23

  372. across is coming. 20 across. Natalie. Brethren.

  373. 20 across. Brethren. Running out of little pieces.

  374. Okay. And then what is that one in the middle

  375. that is going down? We got coming. Oh, sorry.

  376. My bad. 16 down. Mike, you got 16 down? Strength

  377. to stay the course. Endurance is correct. Moving

  378. right along. Thank goodness. Okay. What don't

  379. we have? We don't have 15 down. Centers of being,

  380. it would be river. River, you want to take a

  381. stab at it? 15 down, centers of being, starts

  382. with an H. Say it again? Hearts is correct. Very

  383. good. 15. Oh, yeah, right in the middle. Should

  384. be about the only thing you don't have filled

  385. out. Alright, do we have them all filled in?

  386. What are we missing? Okay. Twelve. Twelve across.

  387. Calm. Twelve across is calm when faced with delay.

  388. What is that, Haley? She's got her excuse. Calm

  389. when facing delay with delay is patient. Again.

  390. Okay, what else are we missing? Ten. Across.

  391. Ongoing bad stuff. We definitely had that one.

  392. Ten across. Suffering. What else we got? Yeah,

  393. you can sit down. All right, so then now we're

  394. going to look at the circles. The last part of

  395. the puzzle, look at the circles. Starting from

  396. the top. Somebody might have already done it.

  397. I know, right? So it's top left, and then you

  398. go left to right, left to right, toward the bottom.

  399. So the first letter that's in a circle is an

  400. R. See that? Then you go over to the right, you

  401. see an E. So it's R -E, okay? Then it's R -E

  402. -D. Then you got another E. So you're putting

  403. these in the circles in order. R -E -D -E. E

  404. again. So that's redeem. Okay. And then you've

  405. got T -H -E right in a row in the middle. Redeem

  406. the. And then it's T. And it's I -M -E. Okay.

  407. So in the Bible, here's what I want you to understand.

  408. In the Bible, in Ephesians 5, 15. Paul says,

  409. walk circumspectly as wise men. And then he says,

  410. redeeming the time. So here's what I want you

  411. to see. What would that be? What would redeeming

  412. the time look like? So redeeming the time looks

  413. like, one, being patient. Understand that when

  414. things are going slower than you might want them

  415. to go, God is up to something. Or when you really

  416. like... I know this sucks, but like Chris, you're

  417. really done with this, right? You want to be

  418. done with this. Understand, God is doing something.

  419. Sometimes we want it to be right now, but God

  420. is actually working a different program, right?

  421. So it's our job to be patient and wait what the

  422. Lord is doing. Now, at the same time, then, we

  423. should strengthen our hearts, right? So you don't...

  424. People make this huge mistake. It's taken forever.

  425. Now I'm frustrated. I'm going to blow up. I'm

  426. going to be angry. I'm going to say something

  427. I shouldn't say. I'm going to... throw something

  428. right or i'm gonna just go sit in bed in front

  429. of tv and watch a ton of tv or you know i'm gonna

  430. do something take a drink of alcohol Something

  431. to get my mind off of the fact that I have to

  432. wait so long for things to be what I want them

  433. to be. All of those are bad things. Do not use

  434. coping mechanisms to deal with the gap in time.

  435. That's not what the Bible asks us to do. So don't

  436. numb yourself in any way, shape, or form while

  437. you're waiting for God to do what God is going

  438. to do next. Maybe he's already doing it, right?

  439. So we practice the spiritual disciplines. That

  440. means you read your Bible, you pray, you serve,

  441. you give. You worship, do all those things, right?

  442. You spend time in Christian community. You repent

  443. of things during that period of gap. You might

  444. find things that you did wrong, and you turn

  445. back to God and say, God, I won't do that anymore.

  446. And you focus on the pure. So what we watch,

  447. that's what affects our mind and our heart. So

  448. when you watch... We're in our movies and people

  449. are killing people, even though we're like, it's

  450. not real, it's just the actors, whatever, the

  451. people are dying. That's not really focusing

  452. on the pure. It's not sin necessarily to watch

  453. a movie because it's just a movie, but it's not

  454. focusing on the pure either. So it's not strengthening

  455. your heart. It may not be weakening your heart

  456. necessarily, but we're not called just to be

  457. patient and then to take in whatever comes along.

  458. It says strengthen your heart, right? So do the

  459. things that will strengthen your heart. while

  460. you're waiting for God to do what God's going

  461. to do. And one of those things is definitely

  462. not what? What is one thing that we definitely

  463. don't do? From the verse, it said, don't do this.

  464. do not complain right and certainly not complaining

  465. against other people who are also on the journey

  466. with you realize people are they're making mistakes

  467. too right they've got their own aids their own

  468. worries their own problems so when you complain

  469. against other people even though again that's

  470. it might be the legitimate complaint right they

  471. did something you shouldn't they shouldn't have

  472. done you might have a legitimate complaint but

  473. when you put that out of your mouth You're not

  474. succeeding in the thing that we're called to

  475. do, which is what again? What was the overall

  476. overarching thing that we're supposed to do?

  477. Redeem the time. You're not redeeming the time.

  478. So if God says, I'm going to do something amazing

  479. in your life, I'm going to wait three months.

  480. Then you should be able to spend the three months

  481. waiting for God to do the amazing thing, redeeming

  482. each moment, each hour, each day. So it's your

  483. job. not to complain, but to strengthen your

  484. heart, to be patient, bless you, and wait for

  485. what God is doing, right? During that period

  486. of time, we have examples. Remember, the prophets,

  487. they knew about Jesus' coming. They didn't know

  488. what he would look like or exactly how it would

  489. go, but it was, bless you again, it was Isaiah

  490. that wrote Isaiah 53. He wrote exactly what would

  491. happen in Jesus' lifetime. Hundreds of years

  492. before Jesus was born, those prophets were persecuted

  493. unto death. Jeremiah was thrown in a muddy well

  494. and left down there for days with no food and

  495. no water because he spoke for God. They were

  496. waiting to see what God was going to do. They

  497. were going through horrible things. And they

  498. were patient because they knew the ultimate of

  499. what God was going to do is better. They were

  500. redeeming the time. So they became our example.

  501. And you become the example for somebody else

  502. when you redeem the time, right? Because the

  503. truth is we're all waiting for God to do something,

  504. right? We're all waiting for Jesus to come back

  505. again. It's bad here. There's disease. There's

  506. villainy, right? There's a public agenda that's

  507. like pushing thoughts on people to make us think

  508. and feel a certain way. It's bad. These are the

  509. evil days. But there are also good days. But

  510. there are only good days if you redeem the time,

  511. right? And that's the good days that we're offered.

  512. And then we can count. that we are blessed and

  513. be corrected as a blessed people and realize,

  514. look, you're blessed. God is doing something.

  515. But I'm waiting. It's not happening. It's going

  516. wrong. Okay, well, I'm just going to watch a

  517. lot of TV or read a lot of books or I'm just

  518. going to... I'm going to focus on the good things.

  519. It's like we're going to take a lot of vacations.

  520. We're going to eat a lot of food. We're going

  521. to drink some alcohol, the bungee jumping. I'm

  522. going to do all the good things. It's like because

  523. God is not doing what I want him to do fast enough.

  524. If you fill the time, that is not the same thing

  525. as redeeming the time. So think about what you

  526. can do, which is be patient. Strengthen your

  527. heart. Do not complain. Be an example to others

  528. and look at the examples that have gone before

  529. us. And then he uses this phrase, which is to

  530. walk circumspectly. It's a big word. It just

  531. means pay attention to what you're doing. If

  532. you're going to redeem the time for the Lord,

  533. pay attention to what you're doing. And if you

  534. go like, this will be the deal. I'm just going

  535. to play some video games for a while. And hours

  536. go by. You probably didn't redeem the time. You

  537. filled the time, but you didn't really redeem

  538. the time. Okay, so our job is then to redeem

  539. the time. I've had a number of people in ministry

  540. over the years. My closing illustration will

  541. be done. A number of people over the years have

  542. told me, you just don't know. I had a guy tell

  543. me, you don't know how it is on the street. I

  544. had a guy tell me, you don't know the pain that

  545. I've been through or the way my life is or like

  546. that. You don't understand the struggle with

  547. sin. And you really can't say that to somebody

  548. else because we all understand the struggle with

  549. sin in our own context, right? It's so hard sometimes

  550. to do the right thing. And then you do the right

  551. thing and redeem the time and you go, oh, that

  552. really wasn't that hard at all. Like I'm fasting

  553. right before I came here today and I'm not saying

  554. anything negative or whatever. I haven't had

  555. anything with fruits and vegetables and some

  556. condiments and things like that. But we're now

  557. approaching 30 days or something like that. And

  558. Sherry made her signature meatloaf and reheated

  559. it up for dinner before I got here. And my fingers

  560. were on the meatloaf. I'm being completely sincere.

  561. 30 days. And yet I had a piece of meatloaf that

  562. I was ready to break off the meatloaf to eat

  563. it right before I came here. Now, I didn't do

  564. it. And I felt the spirit say to me, no, you're

  565. fasting. Don't do that. And I didn't eat it.

  566. But the point is, it is like that for everybody.

  567. We all... have those challenges. We all have

  568. those struggles. They're different for each person.

  569. So what do you do? Remember, redeem the time.

  570. Think about it. Look closely at your life and

  571. what you're doing with your moments and your

  572. hours and your days and your weeks and redeem

  573. the time. because that's the job that God has

  574. given us to do. All right. Okay, so I've got

  575. some tickets real quick that need to be distributed

  576. before we can finish. If you have any tickets

  577. that you're holding, make sure they get put up

  578. on the... So this is a... Here. This is Donyell.

  579. I just happened to see it. Your ticket on the

  580. thing that you might want to win up here on the

  581. front, and we're going to do the drawings, and

  582. then we're going to pray. Put on whatever you

  583. want to win. We're going to do a drawing and

  584. we'll be done. We've got to pray yet. Put on

  585. anything you want to wear. One time Natalie put

  586. like seven on mine and Jayden put one on and

  587. Jayden won. Jayden won. I was ready for you to

  588. say Jayden won. That's great. I'm going to take

  589. that. Are you going to be okay to play for us?

  590. Huh? Are you going to be okay to play for us?

  591. Oh, for sure. That's why I ran into tissue. It's

  592. funny though. Okay. It looks like you are. I

  593. don't know if that's draw. Yeah. Okay. Draw the

  594. proud owner of a plus two edition for you and

  595. a friend. Don't do the other one. I can't find

  596. it. Tommy gets the experience. Oh, cool. Cool,

  597. game movie. I don't have a friend yet. I don't

  598. have a friend yet. I don't have a friend yet.

  599. Apparently he just threw one. You want the markers?

  600. What do I have to see? You can put it in here

  601. if you want the markers or any of the prizes

  602. that are left. It'd be really unfortunate if...

  603. Okay, here we go. This is for all of us. T .T.

  604. Tony Tate. Sweet, 20 bucks. Spoiler. Spoiler.

  605. I mean, like one of these songs. That I don't

  606. use. Dad, can you move it out of the way? No.

  607. Suck. But I'm like over 3 ,000 days older than

  608. you. Okay, sure. I'll do it again. Those two.

  609. Jada. I'm going to go really high so Mike can't

  610. reach it. Good catch, Jada. Thank you. Thank

  611. you. Thank you. Thank you. The entire bag of

  612. candy is Natalie. Yeah, Natalie! You got all

  613. of your eggs in one cup. All right. I want to

  614. tell you, it's going to lead us in prayer. We'll

  615. pray together, and then we'll be done. All right.

  616. Quick word of prayer. I read James chapter 5

    James 5 chapter mention

  617. a lot, and I just recently last year read it,

  618. and just was blown away by that verse you just

  619. read. I thought the craziest thing was when I

  620. was reading it, it said that... When Job was

  621. suffering, he didn't know the outcome of the

  622. situation. And everybody can say it, but I heard

  623. the Lord say, see what I'm saying, that you didn't

  624. know the outcome of the situation either. You

  625. read the outcome of the situation. And that's

  626. kind of cool. It's like we don't know the outcomes

  627. of any of our situations. And Job didn't know.

  628. We didn't know Job was going to get past. We

  629. didn't know what the prophets were going to do.

  630. We're reading all these outcomes after the story.

  631. And so in this time in our story, I love that,

  632. redeem the time, that we can patiently suffer,

  633. which means like to endure and not like a patience,

  634. you know, just to, you know, take the hits, but

  635. to take it with God, to enjoy it with God, to

  636. do what's right with God. All of us, of course,

  637. we all suffer. It doesn't mean we suffer wrongly.

  638. It doesn't mean we suffer righteously for God.

  639. It's just something I thought was really cool,

  640. is that, yeah, none of us know our outcome, but

  641. God does. So, Lord Jesus, I think first and foremost

  642. that you know the outcome for all your brothers

  643. and sisters. That's that this life is momentary.

  644. So we ask for your strength and grace in our

  645. life, in our work, in our families. things that

  646. just really detours. We were not ready for it.

  647. Sometimes it was not fair. It shouldn't have

  648. happened in the first place, but Lord, you were

  649. with us through it all. And so Lord, I pray for

  650. your peace as you just be able to study with

  651. you and peace when we get out of here. So just

  652. strength and grace over New Life Fellowship and

  653. the church itself. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen.

  654. Thank you very much.
