-
Listen, family, there's a word from the Lord.
-
This morning I'm going to read one verse from 1st Samuel, the 17th chapter, verse 26.
-
I'm going to be reading this one verse from the King James version, 1st Samuel, the 17th chapter, verse 26.
-
We love to stand and read the word of God together and read it out loud because it helps us to help make it stick.
-
So I'll be reading it from the King James Version and you can.
-
And, matter of fact, since you all don't have the King James Version, that was my fault.
-
I didn't give it to the media team, I shifted on them I'm going to read it Y'all.
-
Oh, look at them.
-
They so good, amen, amen them.
-
They so good, amen, amen.
-
So let's uh, let's do this.
-
Let's read the word of God, this one verse.
-
Let's read it out loud, together, ready, set, read.
-
And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying what shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine and taketh away the reproach from Israel?
-
For who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?
-
And I would like to use as a subject today, as the Holy Ghost would allow?
-
They not like us.
-
Can you turn to somebody right now and tell them say they not like us, they not like us.
-
You may be seated in the presence of the lord family.
-
I.
-
I was grateful for this opportunity to take a break.
-
It's obvious that I listened to a little bit more than mahalia jackson and john p key I.
-
Uh, it's amazing where you can find inspiration if you're not, if you listen carefully.
-
And today's inspiration is found by an individual by the name of Kendrick Lamar.
-
Let me pull the room.
-
How many of us in the house know Kendrick Lamar is a man?
-
Amen.
-
This may be, if this somebody you're not familiar with, maybe a time for group exercise and activity.
-
Generation X you might need to go sit next to the other generation and help them out today so they don't miss it on the way home.
-
But generation for the older generation listen, don't be looking at the preacher sideways.
-
I know he ain't about to talk about no rapper.
-
As if you didn't get a motivation from Curtis Mayfield back in the day.
-
Listen, as if Sam Cook didn't keep you when you was talking about.
-
It's been a long time coming, but I know a change is going to come.
-
While it's true, listen, I'm trying to come.
-
While it's true, listen.
-
I'm trying listen.
-
While it's true that all of the lyrics of some of the music that we have is not always edifying and some of it is not appropriate for our children and things of that nature, as it relates to rap, it is always that culture has always been a place of inspiration to the world.
-
And true for the matter even though we have this, the world, and true for the matter even though we have this diss track that was birthed from a battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
-
The real issue is, the real reality is that you can find motivation anywhere.
-
If you look carefully, for example, for those hip-hop heads from my culture, coach Brown his favorite rapper is Tupac y'all and Coach Brown he would find motivation from one line from pop where he simply declared I ain't a killer, but what so?
-
Y'all know, y'all know, y'all already know.
-
You can find motivation anywhere.
-
I was watching CNN and this new crowd is different.
-
They rap a little bit different.
-
I don't quite understand.
-
I was watching CNN and they had one on there by the name of Glorilla.
-
Anybody heard of Glorilla.
-
Glorilla blessed me y'all.
-
She blessed me real good.
-
She said she was doing an interview, she had went to the White House and had went to see the president and they was asking all these questions about politics and stuff.
-
She said I don't know nothing about none of that.
-
All I can tell you is that at the end of the day, the day gone in.
-
Now, it didn't make much sense to me at the time.
-
But then I went and I was doing some Bible study and ran across the scripture that said that weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
-
I said ah, gloria, you just said it different, but we're saying, we're saying the same thing.
-
You can, you, we could find motivation anywhere that we look.
-
And so this time I was looking and I heard this.
-
This track and it's back and forth between kendrick lamar and dra Drake has been going on since sometime last year, if not anything that I was paying attention to, and even when this particular song came out, I wasn't paying attention to it until I saw the video.
-
See my one of my college roommates that I play ball with.
-
He's from Compton, and when I saw the video I saw some of the same streets that he took me on when I went to visit him, when we took his car back to Compton.
-
First time I crossed the Mississippi River, was driving from Birmingham, alabama, to Compton, california.
-
Oh Lord, help me.
-
And look, the muffler was out and everything.
-
So by the time we got to Compton my head was ringing, but we made it and his family told me that they were going to get me back to Birmingham.
-
I'm assuming American allies united, you know what I'm saying.
-
No, they gave me a Greyhound bus ticket, y'all.
-
I'm ready to tell my story.
-
But when I was out there and I saw some of those same streets on that video and I saw how Kendrick pulled a whole community together, pulled a whole squad together, and he started to rap in response in his distracted drink they not like us.
-
And I started hearing that man I about wanted to see walk myself, but I'm too saved for that.
-
You know, don't do that stuff no more.
-
The things I used to do, I don't do no more.
-
But, uh, but.
-
But I'm starting to hear this and I'm getting excited because I said, ooh, what would happen if the body of Christ took on that mentality that at the end of the day, the day gone in and they not like us?
-
What would happen if we?
-
We said that we were more than conquerors, because there is something that is in us that is not in them.
-
Now let me help you real good, so you don't weaponize this sermon.
-
The they, the them is not your cousin that just got on your nerves.
-
The the they, the them is not the people that you left at the house.
-
I don't want you to go home and start see, walking in front of your neighbors talking about they not like us.
-
That's what I asked you to do.
-
If you remember, I've been teaching for the last hour before I took my break, that we wrestle not against what flesh and blood.
-
We are in spiritual warfare.
-
In a nutshell, I ain't.
-
My problem is not with you.
-
I ain't got time to go back and forth with you.
-
I got to fight where the fight really is, where well, principalities and demonic influence, and in high places.
-
So we're not like them because we fight different than them.
-
Who is the them?
-
Everything that's coming against the plan and the call, and everything that God wants to do in your life.
-
You have to take this attitude when you are dealing with obstacles and opposition that, at the end of the day, they are not like us.
-
What do you mean?
-
I could take you to the bible.
-
It's the bible that says that everybody cries.
-
The bible says we weep, just like they weep, but we don't weep as those who have no hope.
-
That means that they are not like us.
-
I go through stuff, you go through stuff, but Romans 8 28 declares since they are not like us, all things work for our good, for those who are called according to his plan and for those that love the Lord.
-
I need to talk to some people in this room and encourage you that it's about to work out in your favor, even though it didn't work out for somebody else, simply because you are not like them.
-
You are chosen, you are royal, you are peculiar, you are loved by God.
-
You are loved by God and even though they were not able to push through the fire, you are coming through the fire and won't smell like smoke.
-
I need you to high-five about three people and say they are not like us.
-
I'm going to make it anyhow.
-
I'm going to survive anyhow because I'm different.
-
God is doing something special in me, god has his hand on me and they are not like us.
-
The Lord gives us an example of how to embrace this mentality through the story of the Israelites in a battle for their lives.
-
The text brings us to a battle between the Israelites and the Philistines.
-
The Israelites and the Philistines are literally fighting over the same thing that the Palestinian and Israelis are fighting over today.
-
Israelis are fighting over today Land, territory, power, land territory and power.
-
War start over land, territory and power.
-
The war in Ukraine is a result of a fight over land, territory and power.
-
In the natural realm, there are always fights over land, territory and power.
-
But I need you to know, in the natural realm, there are always fights over land, territory and power.
-
But I need you to know, in the spiritual realm, there are fights over land, territory and power.
-
You do know that satan was kicked out of heaven simply because he was trying to take over some territory that didn't belong to him, and anytime you try to take something from god or for one or one of God's children that does not belong to you, it's going to be some consequences and repercussions.
-
There's going to be some furniture moving whenever.
-
You ought to be encouraged to know that if anybody try to take something that don't belong to you, that the Lord is going to move some furniture on your behalf.
-
That that ought to be some good news for somebody.
-
The Israelites have been fighting the Philistines and the Bible says that records at least seven battles between the Israelites and the Philistines.
-
Here this the Lord had promised to the Israelites that they would have this land because he was keeping a promise that he made to their forefather, abraham, but they found themselves fighting against the Philistines seven times, even though it had been promised.
-
I normally talk to the preachers.
-
I'm gonna.
-
I'm gonna talk to the adjutants today.
-
Jermaine, it was promised, but they had to fight seven times because I don't.
-
I don't know if they, I don't know if they catching what I'm trying to say.
-
God said it's mine.
-
God said I'm going to have it.
-
God said no weapon for him, but I'm having to fight seven times.
-
I'm going to talk to my brother right here.
-
His name is David.
-
Maybe David will catch what I'm trying to say about David.
-
David.
-
God said it was theirs, but they had to fight seven times.
-
Can I talk to somebody right now and let you know, just because you have to fight for it, it does not mean that it doesn't belong to you.
-
There's somebody in here that it hasn't happened yet.
-
Nobody told you that the road was going to be easy anyway, and if they did.
-
They lied to you, they prophesied.
-
If they told you that it was going to be easy, they didn't tell you the truth.
-
I'm here to tell you the truth, the raw, the real, the straight.
-
No chasing.
-
It may be yours, but you may have to fight for it seven times.
-
Your marriage may be yours, but you may have to fight for it seven times.
-
Your children are yours, but you may have to fight for them seven times.
-
Your financial prosperity is yours, but you may have to fight for it seven times.
-
I want to talk to somebody right there and encourage you to keep fighting.
-
It's yours, but every now and then God is just saying I'm going to develop you through the fight.
-
Sometimes I'm not developed until I get into the ring.
-
Sometimes I'm not developed until I get knocked out.
-
Real talk, if you ever want to learn how to jab a punch, get knocked out one time.
-
Do I have any boxers in the house?
-
Listen, real talk.
-
You want to know what a boxer made of you don't find out until they take that first stiff jab.
-
Listen, what's the name of the boxer?
-
I can't think of his name.
-
He started rapping Roy Jones.
-
I love some Roy Jones.
-
If Roy Jones your kinfolk.
-
No disrespect.
-
Roy Jones was a bad boy until he took that first one in the chin for all the boxers in the room.
-
After that he started his rap career, because I'm here to tell you everybody can't take getting hit in the chin and some of y'all in the room right now.
-
God is doing a great thing in your life, but now you want to quit and do something else just because you didn't got hit in the chin.
-
But the word of God said get up off the mat.
-
You need to tell about four people right there.
-
Tell them, get up off the mat.
-
Get get up off the mat.
-
Get up off the mat because even though it's promised I might have to fight seven times, but one of the fights was the most interesting fight.
-
It was the fight where the Philistines took their champion by the name of Goliath and Goliath told the Philistine army to stand back.
-
He said I'm going to send out a challenge.
-
Goliath historians say suggests in the Bible somewhere between 8 and 9 feet tall.
-
He was a real world giant.
-
So that you will understand that this is not make-believe there.
-
This is something that has been proven in history that there was a time where where people literally were that size and, as a matter of fact, there is even a bone condition.
-
In recent history, any wrestling fans in the room, anybody, remember Andre the Giant?
-
The reason Andre the Giant was so large is because he had a condition that caused his bones to be big.
-
I need to explain that to the analysts in the room who don't believe that giants are real.
-
Goliath was a giant of a man, somewhere between eight and nine feet tall.
-
He told the Philistine army stand back.
-
He said I'm going to send out a challenge.
-
Israelites, send your best man, send your best man to meet me down in the valley.
-
You see, the Israelites send your best man, send your best man to meet me down in the valley.
-
You see, the Israelites were on one side of the valley in a high position and the Philistines were on the other side of the valley in a high position.
-
But Goliath said I'll come down in the valley and send your best man if he's willing to fight.
-
I want to talk to somebody today and let you know that the Lord is saying that you are going to win, but you've got to be willing to get down in the valley and fight.
-
What happens next is amazing.
-
We hear and we have an encounter with an individual by the name of David, and David is one that says that helps us to understand the concept of they not like us.
-
David says I'm going to help the people at Chosen City Church understand how to be different when you have a giant that needs to die on today, david is going to help us to understand how to be different when God is calling you to greater and there's still something that you're still wrestling with.
-
David said there's a standard for your life if you want to be able to operate in a different capacity and have wins that other people have yet to have.
-
He said there's a standard if you, if you want to be able to operate in a different capacity and have wins that other people have yet to have.
-
He said there's a standard that you got to have.
-
What's the standard, david?
-
He said the first thing is you got to be humble.
-
It requires humility.
-
Everybody say humility.
-
Everybody say humility, humility, humility.
-
Let me show it to you.
-
Uh, we don't have to pull the scriptures up today, media team, and we're just going to flow right through David to understand David's call in first Samuel the uh, the 17th chapter, or his story in first Samuel, the 17th chapter, you got to understand David.
-
In first Samuel, the 16th chapter.
-
See, in first Samuel, the 16th chapter, something crazy happened.
-
The king of Israel was an individual by the name of Saul, who was anointed by God, but because he started to be disobedient to everything God told him to do, he lost his position.
-
Can I talk to somebody right now and tell you I'm here to remind you that whenever we are disobedient to what God has said to our lives, we run the risk of losing our position.
-
That goes for the pastor, that goes for the clergy, that goes for people that are in business, that goes for politicians.
-
If God you there, if you don't do what God told you to do, guess what?
-
You run the risk of losing your position.
-
And so Saul was disobedient.
-
And so God said I'm tired of Saul, I regret the fact that I made Saul the king, and he said I'm going to replace him Now.
-
Samuel was the prophet, so in today's vernacular, think of the president of the country being Saul and then whoever his chaplain is being Samuel.
-
Right, and I believe that in this world that we're living in right now, we need both the king and the prophet.
-
The king and the prophet need to work hand in hand.
-
Do y'all understand what I'm trying to tell you?
-
Well, everything that we see going on in our society I don't care what side of the aisle that you work on but the reason we have issues in our world right now is that the king, the governmental leaders, are not working hand in hand with the prophet.
-
Right, we were no longer.
-
It was a time where the people that were in governance would either hear from God for themselves or they would reach out to the prophet and say stuff like they said in Jeremiah is there any word from the Lord?
-
What would happen?
-
I don't care who you vote for.
-
I just want the candidate to be one that will say is there any word from the Lord?
-
I can't fix this division by myself.
-
Is there any word from the Lord?
-
I can't unite this country by myself.
-
We need people that be willing to connect with the prophetic folk, to be able to hear what God has in store, because if we don't make some changes, I'll tell you where we are.
-
As Dr Lynch would say, I'll tell you where we are.
-
We in trouble.
-
Saul lost his way because he wouldn't listen to the prophet, the president wouldn't listen to the preacher.
-
And so God said I'm taking my hand off of Saul, but there's another one that I got for you.
-
But what happened was because Samuel loved Saul.
-
Samuel was the one that anointed Saul in accordance with God's instruction.
-
The Bible says that Samuel wept over the fact that God was going to replace Saul.
-
Did y'all hear what I said?
-
Samuel cried because Saul was no longer going to be a part of his life.
-
Samuel cried because, even though Saul had all the potential in the world, it was not going to work out.
-
Samuel wept bitterly.
-
But God says something to Samuel in 1 Samuel, the 16th chapter that I got to say to y'all, chosen City.
-
He's crying because there's a season for tears.
-
But in 1 Samuel, the 16th chapter, god comes to Samuel and he said how much longer are you going to cry over Saul?
-
There was a season for you to cry over Saul, because I know y'all was close.
-
But my question is how much longer are you going to cry over Saul?
-
Can I come down your street?
-
It was a season for you to feel some type of way about what happened to you.
-
It was a season for you to feel some type of way about what you lost and that's painful and that's real.
-
Because loss is painful, loss is real and I'm so glad that we are a church that believes in in the mental health profession, but we still believe that the holy ghost got more power and it's not a, it's not a conflict.
-
You can have the holy ghost and a counselor, but I want to let you know that with the greatest counselor, we got about four, five real good ones right there.
-
If you need to see one.
-
They even gave me a referral.
-
I'm going back, I promise.
-
He says and I say to you how much longer before you accept the fact that God wants to heal you, accept the fact that God wants to heal you, how much longer before you accept the fact that God didn't allow you to lose just because your loss is so that you can gain?
-
So the question got to be how much longer are you gonna stay where you are before you accept that the master has something greater?
-
I want to talk to somebody and say you've been with y'all long enough that's a, that's a prophetic utterance and say you've cried about it long enough.
-
Can I say it like I really feel it?
-
I'll say how I really feel it today, because, coming off, vacation and stuff.
-
You was at another place that allowed you to cry and that was good for you.
-
But you've been sent to this place because the Lord is saying that I want to do a new thing.
-
You've been sent to this place because God is saying it's time for you to heal, it's time for you to go forward and he has something else in store for you.
-
So over here, the question is going to be how much longer are you going to cry about what happened over there?
-
The question is that you got to embrace the concept that we believe that you won't leave here like you came in Jesus name.
-
I'm going to run it back.
-
How much longer will you cry over what broke your heart?
-
How much longer will you cry over who left you?
-
How much longer will you cry over what broke your heart?
-
How much longer will you cry over who left you?
-
How much longer will you cry over what they said about you?
-
How much longer will you cry over yesterday?
-
Yeah, there's some folks that have been married for 15 years, but you ain't got over what the ex-girlfriend did, and so you still ain't loved your wife the way you're supposed to.
-
She ain't still felt the full essence of you.
-
How much longer?
-
Oh, by the way's, that's gender neutral, it go both ways.
-
Some, some ladies in the house, if you ever loved that man, the one that you went like the one that you lost that that man to give you the world, but you ain't got over what happened to you.
-
So how much longer will you treat the one that you went like a second class citizen because you mad, oh, we go in the church?
-
A second-class citizen because you mad, are we going to church too.
-
How much longer, because you got hurt at the last church, are you going to sit on your gift?
-
Because you mad that they didn't treat you right?
-
You mad that they pimped your gift at the last place.
-
So you said I ain't going to use my gift no more.
-
And God has said I'm sorry that they pimped your gift at the last place, but but how much longer are you gonna sit on your talent?
-
I'm gonna be right here after church is over because I'm talking about six of y'all that are extremely and incredibly talented and I hear the Lord say ask them how much longer before they get to the place that they are supposed to be.
-
You see, we're not like them.
-
We can't stew and stuff forever and one.
-
We, because they not like us.
-
We, we have authority one day to wake up and say I'm decreeing and declaring that everything in my life is about to shift.
-
I'm I'm decreeing and declaring that today is the day I'm gonna be everything that god has called me to be.
-
I'm decreeing and declaring that today is the day I'm breaking every chain that has been holding me hostage, everything that's keeping me from the promise, everything that's keeping me from the blessing.
-
You know why?
-
Because I'm Holy Ghost filled and I have the authority to speak life into dead situations.
-
I need about 45 people that don't mind speaking into your own life right now to say how much longer?
-
And the answer is today, god is the day that some things are going to shift for me.
-
So he gets up and the Lord said go to Jesse's house.
-
He goes go to Jesse's house.
-
He goes down to Jesse's house.
-
He encounters Jesse's eight sons.
-
The first seven are in the house.
-
Everybody say inside, but David is on the outside.
-
But David is on the outside.
-
The sons on the inside are brought before Samuel, because Samuel's job as prophet was to anoint the next king.
-
Somebody say inside, the sons on the inside are brought.
-
Before Samuel, samuel took with him a horn that was filled with oil and God will say you'll know the one that I've anointed to be king next, because when he encounters you and the horn, the oil is going to flow.
-
See, the oil represents the power of the Holy Ghost.
-
The oil represents an anointing, it represents a call, it represents an assignment on your life.
-
And so when he got before the first seven individual, first seven sons of Jesse, the oil didn't flow.
-
So he asked him everybody say inside.
-
He said all these, all your sons that you got in the house.
-
He said well, there's another one, but he's on the outside.
-
Everybody say outside.
-
Can I remind you prophetically that sometimes the people that are the most anointed are the people that are not on the inside, but the folk that's on the outside, and I know that some of you have been on the outside.
-
You're not.
-
You're not in the in crowd, they don't call you, you're not in the in crowd, they don't invite you.
-
But I want to remind you that every now and then the most anointed people hang out.
-
Well, on the outside, you that every now and then the most anointed people hang out where, on the outside.
-
He said there's another son, I I got he.
-
I I got some old hip-hop inspiration.
-
He, he from tlc, he, he's a scrub.
-
He, he don't look good, he ain't got nothing.
-
And, samuel, you don't want no scrub now I surely you want somebody else.
-
You know this one on the outside he don't.
-
He don't look as good as my, as my other boys.
-
He said bring him here, because the Lord spoke to me before I got here.
-
And he said I need you to know something, samuel.
-
That man looks on the outside, but God looks at what's on the inside.
-
And what happened is that David came into the room, into Samuel's presence, the horn and the oil began to flow.
-
Watch this presence.
-
The horn and the oil began to flow.
-
Watch this.
-
The oil began to flow from the horn because David was anointed by God to be the king of Israel.
-
But the oil did not flow while David was still in the field.
-
The oil did not begin to flow until David got into the house and got into the presence of Samuel.
-
Try it one more time.
-
The oil did not flow while David was in the field.
-
The oil did not flow until David got in the right position.
-
Can I talk to some of y'all right now and let you know that you're anointed.
-
But I got an answer to your problem.
-
If you don't remember nothing else today, the reason that the oil is not flowing for some of you is because you are still in the field when God is calling you in the house.
-
He said until you get in the right position, the oil won't flow.
-
In other words, you won't have the power, the authority, the resources until you get into the right position.
-
And the amazing thing is about a right position is notice, david.
-
Uh, david didn't have the brown nose, he didn't have the jockey, he didn't have to hate, he didn't have to do anything.
-
All he had to do was do what God had called him to do.
-
And sooner or later, god set before him an open door.
-
And I want to talk to somebody.
-
Let you know that the Lord is sitting before you an open door.
-
You just got to be willing to walk through it and not be afraid.
-
Press through the door and you're going to see God has something greater in store for you.
-
Now you got to understand this about David.
-
David said I'm giving you keys to operate in a way that they don't operate.
-
And I told you all.
-
The first key is to be humble.
-
Now you say what does humility have to do with all that?
-
You just said?
-
Pastor Walt, first Samuel, the 16th chapter.
-
Everything I told you happened.
-
But in first Samuel, the 17th chapter, he get his first anointed assignment.
-
He's anointed now.
-
Now he gifted, he marvelous, he get his first anointed assignment.
-
Y'all know what it was.
-
First Samuel, 17th chapter.
-
You know what it was To take some sandwiches and some cheese to his brothers.
-
Who was in the field.
-
Let me run that back.
-
First Samuel, 16th chapter.
-
Behold David, all is flowing.
-
Behold David, you about to be the next king of all Israel.
-
Thank you, lord.
-
I've been waiting for this moment for all of my life.
-
Oh Lord, oh Lord, here's your next assignment Take cheese and sandwiches to your brother.
-
Then when you come back, you better clean them.
-
Lambs up.
-
David said I need some people to understand that for your elevation, it requires us to be humble.
-
We could talk about humility all day long, but I need you to want to understand one concept of humility today.
-
The key of being humble is your ability to listen.
-
David listened to his earthly father, who told him to take some sandwiches and some cheese to your, to your brothers, even though it seemed to be a job that would be lesser than for a person who was supposed to be preparing to be king.
-
The problem with us today is that we are a body of individuals that don't want to listen.
-
We want to do it our way.
-
David's earthly father was in a God-given position of authority over him.
-
Does that make sense?
-
As father?
-
It was a God-given position of authority.
-
Does that mean that Jesse was always perfect?
-
No.
-
Does it mean that Jesse was always right?
-
No.
-
But David was humble enough to respect his father's authority and listen to him, and because of his willingness to listen, god would soon elevate him.
-
In 2024, we have a crowd of folk that don't want to listen to nothing to him, and because of his willingness to listen, god will soon elevate him.
-
In 2024, we have a crowd of folk that don't want to listen to nothing or nobody.
-
Your grown children.
-
They don't want to listen to you and you don't want to listen to nobody.
-
That's where you think they get it from Right.
-
If you got somebody in your life, that's if your bloodline and they don't listen News flash, they got it from somewhere and and I ain't the baby is that, and I want to tell you right now that we are in a generation of people that refuse to listen every time that if it's the man of God or the woman of God say something that you disagree with or you don't like, we tune it out.
-
I use Deacon Rainey as an example earlier.
-
I'll use him as a example again.
-
Deacon Rainey just overcame a five bypass heart surgery.
-
To God be the glory, he's standing tall.
-
He was here early.
-
I think he's still here.
-
Can y'all imagine what the outcome would have been for Deacon Rainey when he was feeling something wrong in his body If he went to the doctor and said hey, doc, I don't feel quite right, but I've come to the conclusion that what I need is Advil.
-
What you talk about I ain't really trying to hear.
-
Give me two Advil and I'll call you in the morning.
-
Right?
-
Y'all think somebody would be crazy to go to the doctor and tell them what to do.
-
Side point one of my grandmas kind of operated like that.
-
But anyway, I want want to tell you it's a dangerous thing when you think you can diagnose yourself.
-
I I got some mental health professionals.
-
They'll testify that they listen to people all the time and people want to come in people like me and say, oh, I know what my issue is, I know what I need.
-
Do you?
-
Because you're looking from a from a from a, you have tunnel vision.
-
When you're looking at yourself in your own circumstances, you have tunnel vision.
-
You can't really understand and see what's going on with you.
-
So you got to trust somebody sometime and the truth of the matter is they're going to say something that you ain't going to like.
-
They're going to say something that you disagree with.
-
They're going to say something and you're going to think you're supposed to disconnect.
-
But David said you got to be humble enough to listen to those people that have authority over you for God to elevate you when you come into the house of the true and living God.
-
If you have prayed, you believe that God can speak through an imperfect vessel like me to deliver a word to you, not because I'm perfect, but because you pray.
-
Lord, I need a word today, lord.
-
Something needs to shift today, lord, something needs to shift today, lord, something needs to fix today.
-
And so when the man of God says that the issue is not that God does not want to elevate you, the issue is that you lack humility.
-
The issue is that you think you know everything.
-
The issue is you can't listen to anybody.
-
Don give me the finger and tip out of church.
-
Be like David, be different than everybody else and submit yourself to the fact that God is trying to tell me he wants to do greater.
-
But I gotta be humble.
-
God is saying watch this, see, david will become king, and God needed to see that David would be willing to submit himself to the authority of somebody else because with his elevation, other people would have to soon submit themselves unto him.
-
God is trying to get you ready for your elevation.
-
So he's trying to see if you can handle where you're at right now.
-
He's trying to see if you're humble enough to do whatever they ask you to do.
-
I know you was the official apostle prelate at the last place, but today, over here, I need you to make a sandwich.
-
Can you do it, I?
-
I?
-
I know that.
-
I know you sang with mahalia jackson and uh and john piki at the same time at the last church, but over here I need you to usher.
-
Can you do it, I?
-
I know that you preach that every fire holiness conference on this side of the east coast over there, but but here, all I need you to do is come pray when the building is empty.
-
Can you do it?
-
I?
-
I know you know what's wrong with your family and what your family need, but they ain't trying to hear your voice right now.
-
But can you pray and show up anyhow?
-
Can you do it?
-
I know that you think that people are not listening to you when you have all of the issues, but can you still be a part of the team when you are last?
-
When the bible declares that the last shall be first and the first shall be last, the lord is saying that in this house today is humility that's going to get you to your new next.
-
And until some of us humble ourselves, you'll never see and feel everything that the good Lord got for you.
-
I'm here to tell you you got to get over yourself.
-
I gotta get over me.
-
I told Pastor Q.
-
I said I don't have an ego much anymore, I do not care.
-
I said, not that I it doesn't exist.
-
I said, but in this season of my life, my focus is to win.
-
Oh, I got another hip hop example for you.
-
All we want to do is win, win, win, no matter what.
-
And this season of my life for me to win.
-
If I got to be humble, I'm going to be humble.
-
If I got to say I'm sorry.
-
I got to say I'm sorry, because my objective is clear.
-
There's an assignment on my life.
-
My objective is here.
-
There's a charge to keep.
-
I have a God to glorify to serve this present age.
-
My objective is clear.
-
They tried to assassinate a former president.
-
Don't y'all know?
-
That's the stuff that could send us into civil war, regardless of where you align politically.
-
My objective is clear to send us into civil war, regardless of where you align politically.
-
My objective is clear.
-
That it's getting late in the evening and the sun is going down.
-
My objective is clear.
-
I got to be focused on the master's work because if we are not the light in a dark place, then this thing is going to come to an end faster than you ever know it.
-
But I want to talk to somebody today that you've got to be like Pastor Walt, that your primary objective is to win.
-
Your primary objective is not to get all of the recognition.
-
Your primary objective is not to be right.
-
Your number one objective is to submit yourself so that you can be everything that God has called you to be.
-
Because the Lord is saying I want to elevate you, but are you willing to make the cheese sandwich and the peanut butter and jelly?
-
Are you willing to close your mouth and listen, because that's the type of servant that I need.
-
So David says we're not like them because we know how to be humble, because the world don't know how to be humble.
-
Everybody got something to say about everything.
-
But the Lord is saying tell the people that you serve that their humility is what's about to open the door.
-
That's that's prophetic.
-
If you can receive it, your humility is what is going to open the door.
-
Stop worried about if you was, stop worrying about if you was right, stop worrying about if you was wrong.
-
You getting caught up in that stuff, that's spiritual warfare, getting you caught up in who was right, who was wrong, instead of saying look, I got number sons for y'all today, blame it on me, say it's my fault Because at the end of the day, I'm just trying to get to the place where God will have me to be.
-
So David says I'm humble because and that's that's that's a characteristic that the world does not carry today.
-
We don't, we don't value uh, humbleness, but in the kingdom, humbleness is the key to your new next.
-
In the kingdom, humbleness is the key to your new next.
-
I'm going to say it one more time In the kingdom.
-
We are kingdom citizens.
-
We got kingdom access.
-
We got kingdom power.
-
We got kingdom authority.
-
We got kingdom victory.
-
We got kingdom resources.
-
We got kingdom elevation in the kingdom.
-
Humility is the key that's about to open the door to what God got in store for you.
-
David was humble, but David was also observant.
-
Everybody say observant, david being humble.
-
He goes and he makes it to the battlefield.
-
It's an interesting dynamic.
-
The Israelites have taken a fixed position on one hillside and the Philistines have taken another.
-
When you look at the history of all their wars, deacon Coleman, every time the Israelites would try to move to get a better position, the Philistines would counter move.
-
Do they teach all this stuff in the Air Force?
-
Air Force people, any Air Force people in the house, y'all fly.
-
Y'all may not know anything about this.
-
We on the ground, on the ground, any Marines in the house, y'all may know something about this.
-
Every time, thank you For the one Marine, the few, the ground On the ground, any Marines in the house, y'all may know something about this.
-
Every time, thank you for the one Marine, the few, the proud.
-
In combat, the objective of winning is to get in the best position.
-
If you are in the best position, your chances of winning are significantly increased.
-
Your chances of winning are significantly increased.
-
If I could get at a higher elevation than you, my chance of defeating you just got a whole lot better.
-
So every time the Israelites would try to get into a better position, the Philistines would counter move.
-
I want to talk to somebody right now and let you know why you've been having so much problems, so many problems in the first six months of this year.
-
It's not that you're trying to do the wrong.
-
It's not that you're doing wrong per se, but what's happening is, every time you try to make a move for better, here come the adversary with a counter move, because he said I can't let you get over depression.
-
No, no, no, I got to throw something else your way.
-
I can't let you get a financial breakthrough.
-
Let me throw this bill that you ain't seen in a while.
-
I got to do something.
-
Every time, god tries to open the door.
-
The enemy's objective is to throw a counter at you.
-
So don't get discouraged just because you're dealing with counter moves right now.
-
That's all you're dealing with is counter moves.
-
Don't think that God has forgotten about you.
-
You're just dealing with counter moves.
-
We still talk about spiritual warfare, but they not like us.
-
I don't quit when the enemy throws a counter move, when he move.
-
I move just like that, because I'm trying to remind you I'm going to win.
-
I need you to high five people right now and say I'm going to win, I'm going to win, I'm going to win.
-
Yeah, you need to high five some people right there and say I'm going to win.
-
Yeah, you need to high-five the poor right there and say I'm going to win.
-
David is observant.
-
He gets here.
-
He sees all the jockeying for position.
-
He sees all of them moving around and then he hears something from the giant named Goliath.
-
He hears the giant start to challenge the people of God.
-
He hears them say that this fight has been going on for 40 days.
-
Do y'all understand what I'm telling you?
-
Goliath had been challenging the Israelites for 40 days.
-
He said but tell you this instead of us jockeying with all of these armies, let's save all this bloodshed.
-
Get your best man, get my and I get me, and we fight in the valley.
-
Winner, take all.
-
Get your best man, I get my best man, and we go get in the trenches in the winter.
-
Come out, go, take all.
-
That was a movie I used to watch a mad max beyond thunderdome.
-
Two men and a one man leave.
-
That's my kind of fight.
-
Huh goliath said come on down in the valley with me.
-
Pull up if you want to today's vernacular.
-
This ain't what you want.
-
I'm nine feet tall and the bible said he did it for 40 days.
-
Xavier he was, was down over the valley.
-
My name is Goliath, I'm nine feet tall.
-
Pull up if you want to.
-
This ain't what you want.
-
He did it for 40 days straight.
-
My name is Goliath, I'm nine feet tall.
-
Pull up if you want to.
-
This ain't what you want.
-
And the Bible says this went on for 40 days.
-
Now the truth of the matter is that we can chuckle and look at the Israelites and say for 40 days they were scared to fight.
-
But for some of y'all it's been 40 years.
-
For some of y'all, that one issue, that one giant have been looking at you in the face every day, day in and day out for the last several years, especially this year.
-
Can I talk about just this year?
-
That giant has been looking at you in the face every day this year saying my name is the giant of your misery.
-
I stand nine feet tall.
-
Pull up if you want to.
-
This ain't what you want.
-
My name is the giant of the divorce that you have to deal with.
-
I stand nine feet tall.
-
Pull up if you want to.
-
You're going to lose everything.
-
This ain't what you want.
-
My name is the giant of your future.
-
You know that God has greater in store for you, but to get to it, you got to go through me.
-
You got to face some fears.
-
You got to take some risks.
-
You got to go out and trust God.
-
Pull up if you want to.
-
You'll lose your house because you won't have enough resources.
-
This ain't what you want.
-
David was observant to all of these things that were going around, but because David was different, because David said they are not like us and, more specifically, said they are not like me us and more specifically, said they are not like me.
-
The Israelites saw defeat, but David saw something that needs different.
-
Where the enemy saw the giant and saw defeat, david saw a giant that needed to be defeated.
-
When the Israelites saw the giant and saw defeat, david saw a giant that needed to be defeated.
-
It's not the same Are y'all catching me?
-
When the Israelites saw something that they could not overcome and they saw it as defeat.
-
That's why they wouldn't fight it.
-
David saw a giant and said the only thing that needs to happen is that somebody needs to be bold enough to move some furniture and knock this giant down.
-
I want to talk to you and say that you got to change your perspective on how you see your giant.
-
Here's the question from the pulpit, this situation that's before you right now do you see defeat or do you see a giant that just needs to be defeated?
-
That's a question for every soul in this house, social media.
-
I holler at you, holler back at me.
-
Do you see defeat or do you see a giant that just needs to be defeated?
-
David had a discerning spirit and because he had a discerning spirit, he saw things in a way that other people didn't see it.
-
May I help you.
-
Today.
-
We are at the halfway point of the year.
-
July the 2nd was the halfway point, and I know the Lord is saying that I have greater in store for you.
-
There were some things that were prophesied into your life at the beginning of this year, and for some of you it was prophesied last year, and the Lord is saying it's yours, but it's how you see the giant.
-
He says that you've got to be one that sees, never see defeat, but just see a giant that needs to be defeated.
-
It is hard for me in this season to listen to people who have good ideas but they don't have any faith.
-
I need people to not just tell me what the charts and the darts say.
-
Where is your faith?
-
Where is your belief that, even when the math ain't math and the change looks strange, where is your faith when it's not adding up in your life?
-
When you don't have faith, you see the obstacle as defeat.
-
But when you walk by faith and not by sight, you see the situation as a giant that just needs to be defeated.
-
And the Lord is saying July 2nd was the halfway point of 2024.
-
Everything that I promised for you is yours, but you got to change how you look at the giant.
-
He says you got to understand and remember that I call you to this and I didn't call you and bring you this far to leave you now.
-
I call you to this because there is something greater for you, but in the process I'm gonna teach you more about yourself than you ever knew, because it's in the fight for your life that you're gonna learn more about me than you ever knew.
-
David, he was observant, you could say that he was a had a discerning spirit.
-
He, he saw what was going on.
-
He, he saw Goliath for who he really was.
-
Can I talk to you and tell you right now my prayer in the Holy Ghost is that for spiritual warfare, you start to see the giant for what it really is.
-
You got to start to see the giant for what it really is.
-
David said listen, I'm observing some stuff.
-
He said I'm observing the fact that y'all are afraid.
-
And this is one giant that's in the valley.
-
And he said in first Samuel, 17, verse 26 who is this uncircumcised Philistine?
-
That he should stand against the armies of the true and living God.
-
I'm gonna run that back, david talking mad trash.
-
Now I I'm not wanting to try, you know, get into the races of people in the Bible and stuff.
-
We know they was from the Middle East, but he sure sound like some of y'all Maybe think that brother had a little chocolate in him.
-
You know, because you know when we fight we ain't going to just fight.
-
We got to say something.
-
Humility is out the window at that point they even pull up talking who is this uncircumcised Philistine that David pulled up talking?
-
Who is this uncircumcised Philistine?
-
That's that.
-
That's that old testament trash talk y'all.
-
Y'all don't know that about.
-
They hit hard in the old testament because I want you to think about what he was saying.
-
He said who is this uncircumcised?
-
Meaning that that giant that was trying to kill the child of God did not even have a relationship with God.
-
You see, circumcision in the Old Testament was a sign for the being of God.
-
That meant I was connected to God.
-
That meant that Jehovah Rapha was my healer, that he was my provider, that Jehovah was my protector, that Jehovah was my covering.
-
That Jehovah, the same one that opened the water so the children of Israel could walk through on dry ground.
-
The same Jehovah that provided for them in the wilderness.
-
The same Jehovah that kept Daniel in the lion's den.
-
The same Jehovah that kept the Hebrew boys in the fire.
-
He was saying you don't even have a connection to my God.
-
Who are you to challenge me to my God?
-
Who are you to challenge me?
-
So David saw that his giant did not have the power that it was claiming to have.
-
We all up in vernacular day and culture today.
-
Oh, if David could talk today.
-
David and us here told the giant stop capping.
-
Now, if you don't know what that means, ask your young adult student.
-
They'll tell you.
-
If your child ever say to you you capping, pull out a switch, because you know that means they tell you that you're lying.
-
They tell you you're lying.
-
They said it that way so you didn't know.
-
But the pastor telling you now.
-
If somebody but I'm the pastor telling you now Somebody ever say you're capping, they say that you're full of it.
-
That's what they're saying.
-
And David was basically saying Goliath, you're capping.
-
You ain't about that life for real.
-
And I need some of y'all to start looking at your giant like that and tell your giant you're capping.
-
If you read the Bible every day and you don't read nothing else, then just call your giant an uncircumcised Philistine.
-
But whatever you need to do, you need to start talking to your giant about your God.
-
You need to start talking to your giant and see what it really is, because I want to let somebody know it's not as bad as it appears to be.
-
Can I tell somebody that right now it's not as bad as it appears to be.
-
I want to say it one more time because this is going to keep somebody holding on just a little while longer.
-
Woman of God, man of God, couple of God, it is not as bad as it appears to be, because God is closer than you think.
-
He observes what's going on.
-
Watch this y'all.
-
He observes what's going on in his discernment, in his discernment.
-
The discernment is what us know what the giant really is.
-
Because when I know what the giant really is, then I know how to fight the giant.
-
We'll deal with that next week, but hear me, I'm going to say it again when I know what the giant really is, I know how to fight the giant.
-
As long as I'm fighting and I really don't understand what I'm fighting, I'm not going to fight the right fight.
-
But when I know what the giant really is, then I know how to fight the giant.
-
He observes everything that's going on.
-
But then guess what?
-
Not only is he humble, not only is he observant, he is brave.
-
Everybody say brave.
-
After he's delivered the sandwiches now he did deliver the cheese.
-
He observed everything that's going on.
-
He starts to ask more questions.
-
And he said, he starts to say you know what?
-
If nobody else can?
-
I will, david, you crazy, but they not like us.
-
I am a little crazy.
-
They not like us.
-
I know who is on our side.
-
Did y'all forget?
-
I want to talk to some people in here and say y'all got to stop operating like them.
-
They not like us.
-
When you go to the bank, the Holy Ghost goes with you.
-
When you go to your job, the Holy Ghost goes with you.
-
When you go wherever you got to go, the Holy Spirit is on your side.
-
You know why?
-
Because they not like us.
-
If God be for us.
-
Oh, y'all read the Bible.
-
Who can be against us?
-
But when he is brave, there's a problem with being brave.
-
Family, you know what the problem with being brave is?
-
The problem with being brave is that if you are a brave person, welcome to the club of being the most misunderstood person in the room.
-
If you are a brave person, welcome to the club of being the misunderstood person in the room.
-
Bravery when you are brave, people will call you arrogant.
-
When you're brave, people will say you're cocky.
-
When you're brave.
-
Thank you, man of God.
-
Help pray for the preacher.
-
When you're brave.
-
When you're brave, everybody going to have something to say about what you're supposed to be doing Of note.
-
They ain't going to help you do it, but they got something to say.
-
That's're supposed to be doing of note.
-
They ain't gonna help you do it, but they got something to say.
-
That's what it's like being brave when you're brave.
-
When they say you're arrogant, it's not that you're arrogant, you just confident in who your God is.
-
But watch the pattern family Humble first, because some of us like to be brave and don't want to be humble.
-
Humble first, observant next, and then I can be brave.
-
If you jump out there and be brave first, as they said in Alabama, you'll get your head bust to the white meat.
-
Humble first, I mean, I'm mean, I'm gonna listen.
-
Observant second, and then we could be brave.
-
He's brave.
-
The problem about being brave you know where the pain come from.
-
When you're brave, it's the people that closest to you that'll hurt you the most.
-
When y'all go home, read first 1 Samuel 17 in its entirety for yourself.
-
It was his own brother that said David man, stop all this, stop all this talk.
-
David, we know why you're here.
-
You just want to see a fight.
-
David, we know why you're here.
-
You just want to see what's going on, because even his own brothers didn't understand his assignment.
-
And I want to talk to you and let you know and remind you, your own family often will not understand your assignment.
-
They won't.
-
They won't understand it.
-
But David has some back and forth banter and then what's worse is his brothers bring in other people into the conversation against David.
-
It's bad enough that you disagree with me, but why you can't disagree with me on your own, why you got to go tell everybody Because every misery love company.
-
Now you got to get a pity party, Now you got to get a team of folk, and so now there's a team of people talking sideways to David.
-
David has a back and forth conversation with his brother and the people.
-
But then David makes a shift and stop talking.
-
Listen to this y'all.
-
He stops talking to the people and he starts talking to the king.
-
The king is Saul at the time.
-
He starts talking to Saul and he tells Saul I can do this, can I make sure that y'all don't miss that right there?
-
He stopped talking to the people and he started talking to the king.
-
They not like us.
-
They not like us.
-
They not like us.
-
See, what happens is, at some point, us.
-
You know what we do.
-
I'm going to stop talking to the people and I'm going to have a conversation with the king.
-
Can I talk to you and encourage you?
-
How much longer are you going to talk to people before you take this conversation to the king?
-
So David stopped talking to the people and started talking to the king and said Saul, I need you to understand something.
-
I'm built for this battle.
-
He said what do you mean you built for this battle?
-
He says when I was in the field as a shepherd boy, I had some experiences that nobody would ever believe.
-
I want to talk to somebody's field right now.
-
The field is that place where you seem to be outside of God's eyesight.
-
You seem to be outside of God's presence.
-
You seem to be outside of God's plan for your life.
-
It seems like you're in a demeaning position and nobody sees you.
-
And the truth of the matter is you've been worried about people seeing you, and people that never see you, but if they saw you, they couldn't do nothing for you.
-
Anyway, I need to talk to some people that's in the field and say stop worrying about what people see, stop worrying about what people think.
-
You need to know that, el Roy E.
-
Y'all know El Roy E in Hebrew God sees me.
-
Can I tell you right now El Roy E sees you in the field.
-
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-
When the pastor don't see you, god see you in the field.
-
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-
When the pastor don't see you, god see you.
-
When the bishop don't see you, god see you.
-
When your employer don't see you, god see you.
-
When your children don't understand your sacrifices, god sees you.
-
He said I was in the field, saul, nobody saw me, but my God.
-
He said there was this one time a bear showed up because I need to give you my resume, saul, so you can understand that I'm built to battle Goliath in the valley.
-
He said one time, when I was in the field, there was a bear that showed up and I clapped.
-
I clapped, well, they said why come?
-
I swear for God.
-
I know we're not about to swear, but I'm just talking.
-
Like Darian said, I swear upon God that when that bear showed up, I took care of him with my bear hands.
-
At this point, saul is impressed.
-
But he said hold up, king.
-
That wasn't the only thing that I experienced in the field.
-
Side point.
-
I need to talk to somebody else field experience right now and say stop disrespecting your field experience, because everything that you experience in the field is built you for the battle that's ahead of you.
-
Stop downplaying your low place, stop downplaying your struggle.
-
That's the thing that helps us to know that you built for the battle that's ahead of you.
-
He said wait a minute, I got some more to tell you.
-
He said not only did a bear show up, I took care of the bear, he said, but a lion showed up and the lion got past my defenses and the lion was able to grab one of my lambs.
-
The lion grabbed the lamb and ran into the woods.
-
I didn't see this until last night in my study.
-
David chased the lion.
-
I want to run that back as a bad boy that could beat a bear, but you're on a whole other level if you're able to chase a lion.
-
As a matter of fact, there's only one other individual in the in the bible, in recorded history, that ever chased a lion with his bare hands.
-
His name was Benaiah.
-
His story is also in Samuel.
-
Anybody know the story of Benaiah.
-
He's only mentioned a couple of times in the bible.
-
But when they give Benaiah's resume, they don't talk about who his daddy was.
-
They talked about his field experience, because one time Benaiah ended up chasing a lion down into a pit on a snowy day.
-
I'm gonna run that one back.
-
Benaiah chased a lion into a pit on a snowy day.
-
That means that Benaiah and David operated in a way that the Lord, god Almighty, is calling you to operate.
-
The Lord is saying, since you are not like them and they are not like us, we got to be the type of people that's willing to chase lions into the pit on a snowy day, meaning that I'll chase the lion and I'll bring the fight to the enemy, even when my circumstances are not perfect, even when things around me are not looking good, even in the midst of inclement weather on my soul.
-
But because I know who I am in Christ Jesus, jesus, I'm willing to chase a lion in a pit on a snowy day.
-
And I want to talk to somebody and let you know that we are the type of people that have got to stop being so passive.
-
We are the type of people that got to stop sitting back and, instead of taking, instead of the enemy bringing the fight to us, we got to be the type of people that's willing to take the fight to the enemy.
-
I don't know what giants you've been facing in your family, in your mind, in your finances, but how long before you get up and take the fight to the boogeyman, how long before you get up and say that I'm going to get back everything that God has for me?
-
I need about 75 lion chasers in the room to declare unto the heavens with your best preacher voice that from this day forward, I'm going to chase the lion.
-
Come on, help me out today.
-
Say, from this day forward, I'm going to chase the lion.
-
Say it like you mean it From this day forward, I'm going to chase the lion.
-
When Saul heard David's resume and I'll give you one more thing and we're done for the day We'll finish next week when Saul heard David's resume, he said I, he was humble, he was very observant, he was brave, very brave.
-
He was built for that battle.
-
Everything that you've gone through now, remember this.
-
It built you for the battle that battle.
-
Everything that you've gone through now, remember this.
-
It built you for the battle that's ahead of you.
-
That's why you can't dismiss it.
-
It built you for this battle.
-
And the last thing you'll see today from David is that David had to learn to adjust quickly.
-
Everybody say adjust.
-
I believe to me this is the most important thing that I'm going to say to you today, as it relates to being different, as it relates to operating in a way that's going to allow what God has for you this year to come to pass.
-
You have to be able to adjust quickly, being a woman of God.
-
Saul says okay, it's your funeral.
-
If you want to go out there and fight that giant, somebody make sure his affairs are in order.
-
Somebody go ahead and write his obituary.
-
You know, that's how people think.
-
When you say I'm going to go out here and do what God has called me to do, they say well, that's your funeral.
-
We wish you luck with that.
-
We're going to stay up here.
-
We call your family next of kin.
-
But what happened next is on you.
-
But David was not walking alone.
-
He was first humble, he listened right, he was observant.
-
Now he's brave.
-
But then he learns to adjust quickly.
-
Watch this y'all.
-
So Saul said well, little fella, because David was maybe a teenager at the time.
-
Here you go, and Saul was a tall man, little fella, since you brave, I'm gonna do something that kings don't normally do.
-
I'm going to give you my armor.
-
And the Bible says that Saul gave David his helmet and his body armor.
-
David put on the helmet and he put on the body armor.
-
He took two steps and said I can't fight like this.
-
I need to talk to y'all real plainly about this situation, because for me, every sermon people get different stuff, but this was the one for me.
-
I pray.
-
Something else along the way was for you, but this one was for me.
-
Saul was not a bad individual by offering his armor to David, because that's the best that Saul had to offer.
-
Your parents offered you their armor when, as an example, they taught you about finances and they didn't know about finances themselves.
-
If that was your parents, some of your parents that's not their story.
-
But if you had a parent, maybe they weren't educated.
-
They gave you the best that they had.
-
And so what do you do when somebody gives you the best that they have?
-
You try it on.
-
But with the moment that you realize that this ain't the armor for you, you got to take that off.
-
As a pastor, I'll tell you, especially as a.
-
You know, they still say I'm a young pastor.
-
I don't feel young.
-
No more.
-
I'll be 45 this year.
-
You know, I still be playing ball and stuff though, but as a young pastor, as they say, the older pastors say, I appreciate the wisdom that I get from them.
-
But guess what?
-
Y'all don't know the number of pastors that try to tell me stuff.
-
They good folks, these good pastors, but they try to tell me how to do it and they give me the best that they had because that's what worked for them and because, out of respect, I tried.
-
I take two steps in it and then I realize this is too heavy for me, I can't do it the way that you do it there.
-
And I realize this is too heavy for me.
-
I can't do it the way that you do it.
-
There are even wonderful clergy here.
-
Gifted or anointed, they give me their best armor because that's how they've been successful in ministry the last 50 years.
-
They've seen a lot of stuff and they love me and I love them.
-
But I have to let them know I'm not disrespecting your armor.
-
Your armor kept you and your whole family, but I got to fight the way I fight.
-
I say the same to you, men and women of God.
-
There are too many of you, of you, the reason that you have not really seen the level of success, as God was.
-
To find success is because you are wearing somebody else's armor.
-
You're trying to do it the way that they did it.
-
And listen, stop.
-
Don't.
-
Don't be so critical to them, because Saul did not give David jump.
-
He gave him the best armor in the kingdom.
-
It was the king's armor, but the reality was it wasn't for David.
-
Our ancestors gave us the best that they had.
-
We learned from it.
-
We tried on, but you got to ask yourself am I doing it the way that they would do it or am I doing it the way that God would have me to do it now?
-
And I need to talk to some people right here today and say that I need you to do this.
-
I need you to focus on making some adjustments and some shifts quickly, quickly, quickly, quickly.
-
Look at what David did.
-
He took two steps.
-
David put the helmet on.
-
He put the helmet on.
-
He put the arm on on.
-
He put the arm on.
-
He took two steps and said I can't fight like this.
-
Saul, with the most due respect, I love you and I thank you, but I can't fight like this.
-
And can I say to the Saul's in the room.
-
If you are Saul and you have given somebody your best, they're not disrespecting you when they take the armor off.
-
They're just different than you and they got to fight the way that God has called them to fight.
-
So David has to respect Saul and Saul has to respect David If we are going to slay Goliath, because at the end of the day, it ain't about whether or not I wear your armor or you wear mine.
-
The real objective is to bust Goliath's head to the white meat, and sometimes we get so caught up in methods that we forget about the primary objective.
-
Our primary objective as a body of believers is to win souls into the kingdom of the most high God.
-
That's the primary objective.
-
Our primary objective is to help people to overcome, to help people to build, build in the natural, build in the spirit, to be better citizens, to be blessed in the city, to be blessed in the field, to be blessed when they come, to be blessed when they go, for there to be overflow, to hit their out.
-
So there could be peace and favor, so there could be grace and favor, so there could be grace, so the spirit of God could move upon their life.
-
That's our primary objective, and I will go into battle naked if I have to, to make sure that we all see victory.
-
Here we are family.
-
I'm going to pause right there, because what I want to do different today as I end this sermon today, because for me and I can say, everything is different for everyone.
-
For me, your deliverance moment in today's sermon is really about your ability to adjust.
-
Your deliverance moment in today's sermon is about your ability to adjust.
-
This is very prophetic, this is very spiritual.
-
I'm talking to everybody that will listen, because some may not listen.
-
But can you adjust?
-
Not tomorrow, right now.
-
Can you adjust how you deal with people?
-
Can you adjust how you deal with family?
-
Can you adjust how you deal with people at church?
-
Can you adjust how you deal with family?
-
Can you adjust how you deal with people at church?
-
Can you adjust how you deal with people on the job?
-
Can you adjust how you respond to giants?
-
Because the key to your victory is your ability to adjust.
-
Some of us been stuck so long.
-
We can't adjust, but I believe that there's a freedom in the house that's going to allow some of us to adjust and make some quick shifts.
-
Y'all do know that diet, diet, david didn't have a whole lot of time to decide whether or not he was going to make that shift.
-
You know why?
-
Because goliath was in the valley and they, the lord, said tell the people, y'all ain't got a whole lot of time to figure out whether or not you're going to make certain shifts.
-
You know why?
-
Because goliath is in the valley and after a while, either Goliath going to come or the entire Philistine army going to come.
-
Because you waiting.
-
And let me tell y'all something about the danger.
-
There's this the danger of wearing armor that is not yours is that you can't move.
-
How you're supposed to move is that you can't move how you're supposed to move.
-
Had David put on Saul's armor and went into battle, he would not have had the speed and agility that God blessed him with.
-
The speed and the agility is what gave him the advantage over Goliath.
-
And when I put on armor that don't belong to me, I've taken away the very advantage that God has given me.
-
Can I say it real plain Do you, player, be who God has called you to be?
-
Hold up, marcus, hold up Marcus.
-
Pause that right there.
-
I need him to hear this real good.
-
Do you be who God has called you to be?
-
You do it like Pastor Walt.
-
Do it.
-
The armor is going to be too heavy.
-
You do it like Pastor Walt do it the armor is going to be too heavy.
-
You do it like the other generation did.
-
The armor is going to be too heavy.
-
You learn from them, but you got to do you, and when you do you, what happens is you will.
-
God will take the essence of who you are, the best of you you are, and you'll be able to step down into that valley and Goliath won't even have a chance.
-
I want to open up a moment of prayer right now at this altar, because I need to pray.
-
It's not enough to talk making the shift.
-
The Holy Spirit is going to have to help some of you all to make the shift, because if you could have done it on your own, you would have done it by now.
-
So, as we stand to our feet, as we stand to our feet, if you could have made the adjustment that you need to make in your mentality, you would have done it by now.
-
But there is a stronghold, there is something that keeps you from adjusting the way that you need to adjust, not to my standard, but to the master's standard.
-
Adjust so that you see the giant not as defeat, but you see the giant as something that just needs to be defeated.
-
Everybody, under the sound of my voice, I'm opening the altar.
-
Today.
-
You can come to the altar if you're led.
-
You can do it in your seat, because I know that there are more people that need to make this adjustment than can make it to the altar.
-
But some of y'all need to come and get on bended knee.
-
Some of you need to cry out to God.
-
Today, it's just because you need to make some adjustments, god, today, it's just because you need to make some adjustments.
-
You need to make them now.
-
You need to make some adjustment in your temperament.
-
You need to make some adjustments in how you see things, and the Lord is saying you were not called to make those adjustments by yourself that he is here with you.
-
So if you want to be real and want to be honest with God and say Lord, I know I'm called to win this year.
-
I know something was prophesied over my life Glory to God.
-
Thank you for the first person.
-
I need some others that need to be honest with God.
-
Come on.
-
Y'all know we come to this altar often because we know that there's power here.
-
As you come to this altar and you say God, I need you to help me to make some adjustments.
-
I need you to help me to make some shifts, taking off the armor is also a sign of release.
-
Release yourself from other people's expectations, release.
-
Release yourself from other people's standards, release.
-
Understand that to every person that's in this house today that you are like in kindred spirit with David.
-
You're different.
-
You fight different.
-
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal.
-
We fight from bended knees.
-
We fight different because they are not like us.
-
We fight together.
-
So there are some more people that need to come to the altar.
-
Even if you're not coming for yourself, you need to come to agree with some of the people at the altar because we fight together In this season the rest of 2024, we can't fight individually.
-
We got to fight unified and we got to have one another's back.
-
But the Lord is saying this.
-
He said for those of y'all who know what the Lord told you was going to happen this year it will happen, but you got to follow the outline that was declared in the word of God today.
-
Stay humble, be observant and be discerning.
-
Maybe didn't be brave in that order, and the Lord is saying that I will do what I promise you.
-
There was something that was promised to you all Some of you, all that came to a New Year's Eve service, some of y'all who ain't even been to church.
-
You was somewhere else and God spoke to you.
-
The Lord is saying it's going to happen, but there has to be some adjustments.
-
But the Lord also wanted me to give you a word of a warning that if you go into this next season of the year wearing armor that does not belong to you, it's going to hurt you.
-
The Lord is saying don't always tell them what they want to hear.
-
Tell them the truth that you survive by wearing armor that didn't belong to you.
-
You survive by carrying heaviness that you should not have been carrying.
-
But if you want to thrive and if you want to win, you got to take some stuff off.
-
And the Lord is saying you can't afford to even take it off tomorrow.
-
You got to disrobe right now.
-
Take off everything that doesn't belong to you.
-
Take off other people's problems that don't belong to you.
-
The lord is saying that we speak the truth in love.
-
But you're not responsible for other people's decisions.
-
And he is saying that there are too many of you at this altar.
-
You've been trying to carry the weight of other people's decisions, even your adult children.
-
You can't carry the weight of an adult child's decision.
-
You can't carry the weight of a sister or auntie or a cousin or a co-worker's decision.
-
All you can do is love on them and and and share the truth in love.
-
But if you keep carrying that weight, it has been blocking you from seeing what God wants to do in your life.
-
The Lord is saying to some of my clergy stop carrying the weight of how it was done where you came from, and avail yourself to what God is doing here.
-
The Lord is saying also stop trying to make the David of this house wear your armor and understand that he's called to fight different.
-
Pray for him as he tried to discern what the fight looks like, but stop trying to put your armor on top of him.
-
And that goes for all of y'all.
-
Y'all are, y'all are built different.
-
Now stop letting other people put their armor on you for the rest of this year.
-
And you got to tell folks I fight different, I'm built different.
-
I I'm going to be humble, I'm going to listen, but I'm going to do it in the essence of who God made me to be.
-
So at this altar, we laying some stuff down.
-
Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you today because we know that we're not like the world.
-
We are chosen people.
-
We are a chosen people.
-
We are a royal priesthood.
-
You brought us out of the darkness into your marvelous light.
-
We are different.
-
We fight different.
-
We are different.
-
For the world, preaching of the cross is foolishness, but to the believer, preaching of the cross is all the power that we'll ever need.
-
God, at this altar today, there are people that need to make some adjustments in how they see their circumstance and see their situation.
-
There are some people here who need to make some adjustments as it relates to how they operate and how they do what they do.
-
There are some people here that need to take off the armor.
-
There are some people here, god, that need to make some adjustments.
-
God, they would have been made the adjustments if they knew how.
-
They don't know how, god.
-
So that's where the Holy Ghost has to show up, god, right now, god, we need to make some adjustments.
-
God, david made adjustments after taking two steps, and some of us, god, god, hadn't made an adjustment.
-
And it's been 20 miles.
-
God, we can't walk another step with heaviness that we shouldn't be carrying.
-
So right now, under the power of the Holy Ghost that you have given unto me, god, I speak a loosing in this house, the God that they will take off every weight that does not belong to them.
-
I speak of loosing in this house.
-
They will relinquish things, god, and put it in your hand.
-
For some, god, you just showed me they don't trust you enough.
-
That's why they haven't let it go yet.
-
They don't trust you to work it out.
-
So they have been trying to work it out and that has caused them to carry more stuff than they need to carry.
-
But, god, let them trust you today like never before, god, let them trust you so much so that if it has to fall down, it has to fall down.
-
But from this day forward, I'm not carrying anything, god, that you have not called me to carry.
-
Because, god, if it falls down, I understand that you'll pick it up when you get ready to pick it up anyway, if it falls down.
-
I understand that sometimes some stuff needs to fall so it can get back up again better.
-
And sometimes, god, us carrying stuff that we are not supposed to be carrying.
-
What it results in is helping starting to hurt.
-
There are some people at this altar, father God, that have been carrying stuff that they should not carry and now they are hurting the very people that they call themselves trying to help.
-
God, I pray for everybody at this altar that they are able to lay their burdens down today, god, and I pray, god, by faith, that you will keep your promise concerning them, that lord that whatever you spoke into their life earlier this year, I pray that it'll come to pass before December 31st 2024.
-
I pray, god, that we have a room full of testimonies about December 31st 2024, because these young pioneers that are in my presence, father God, they will go forward humbly, they will go forward observing, and they will go forward, father God, bravely, with the power of the Holy Ghost, to be what you've called them to be and to do what you've called them to do.
-
But, lord, before they leave the altar, there has to be a manifestation of a breaking.
-
Take it off right now, god.
-
Right now, god.
-
Take it off.
-
Take it off right now, god.
-
Take it off right now, God.
-
God, I know this is a spiritual talk, but because you are moving, as you are taking it off of them and they are really letting it go and it's been hard for them to let it go let them feel lighter in their natural body as evidence that you are moving spiritually.
-
Let them feel lighter in their natural body right now, god, whether they're at the altar or at home or in the pews.
-
Let them feel lighter in the natural body so that they will have confirmation that you're moving in the spirit, so that they will have confirmation that you're moving in the spirit.
-
Speak, holy Ghost.
-
Speak, holy Ghost.
-
Speak, holy Ghost.
-
Speak until there is fresh vision.
-
I speak fresh vision.
-
Now that they've taken off armor that does not belong to them, they can see what they're supposed to see.
-
I declare fresh vision, fresh vision, clearer vision.
-
You showed them a glimpse of it before.
-
But, god, there's fresh vision for the house today.
-
There's a fresh vision, lord, wherever there's a vision now, god, I pray for provision.
-
Lord, they're going to need resources for what you're showing them to do.
-
I pray for provision, supernatural provision, by faith, to come for some this week and for some soon, as they are humble and start to listen, it'll come, god.
-
I pray for a fresh feeling of the Holy Ghost.
-
I pray, god, that, if you don't mind, lord, send a wind right now, god, let them feel a wind.
-
Let them feel a wind, father, god, I know that's in the natural, I know this is a spiritual work, but some people need some confirmation, god, that this ain't no play thing.
-
So, god, god, let them feel lighter.
-
Let them feel a fresh wind.
-
I, I breathe, I speak a fresh wind, a fresh wind.
-
Breathe on your children right now, god.
-
Breathe on every David in the room right now, god.
-
Anoint every David in the room right now, god, because there's greater that's in store for them.
-
And, oh, lord, we count it all done.
-
We believe, by faith, that you've moved, that you're breathing on your people.
-
We believe, by faith, that it's getting lighter.
-
God, it's going to be real hard for some people to let it go, but they letting it go right now, it's going to be real hard because they've been caring for that person and carrying other folk weight and other folks baggage for a long time.
-
They've been carrying their own stuff for a long time.
-
But we believe, by faith, that today is the beginning of a new day, that Lord, you did a new thing and it's marvelous in our sight.
-
Oh Lord, I feel it in this house today.
-
I feel a shift, I feel a breaking, I feel a transformation.
-
I feel a breaking, I feel a transformation, I feel the adjustment.
-
Lord, I know there's some witnesses in the house, so I pray for the witnesses that already feel a shift.
-
I pray for the witnesses that already feel your load getting lighter.
-
I pray for the witnesses that feel God breathing on you right now.
-
I pray on everybody.
-
If that's you, I need you to testify by exhorting God and loving on God and giving him, and even if you don't feel him yet, you ought to celebrate him with expectation.
-
You ought to lift up holy hands with expectation that, god I know that I'm going to make some adjustments.
-
Right now, god, I feel lighter.
-
I feel lighter, I feel better, so much better since I laid my burdens down.
-
I feel better.
-
God, yeah yeah, that's it right there.
-
Come on, let's worship right there.
-
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh release, yeah, yeah, yeah.
-
Proud to God in this place.
-
Family, he's here, he's here, he's here, yeah, release, cry out to God.
-
Man of God talk to your God, woman of God talk to your God Release oh release.
-
Release.
-
Release your power.
-
Release new revelation.
-
Release oh, release your power, lord.
-
Hey, family, we're about to go home.
-
I need about 30 seconds to do this, though.
-
This next praise see, I walk by faith, so when I declare stuff, I'm declaring it by faith.
-
This next, this next sound to heaven is about to change some stuff today for somebody.
-
I believe in the next sound that we're going to lift.
-
It's going to be a healing sound which is going to allow some people to finally be light, to allow some people to finally be light, to allow some people to finally be free.
-
This is a faith move.
-
I believe it.
-
We don't do this just to make a noise, but this is a war cry.
-
This is a cry to say God, when I cry out to you, it's victory, but it's also release.
-
It's victory meaning that it's celebratory, but it's released, meaning that it may be painful because it's been attached to me so long, like I can see in the spirit, like some, for some of you, you're trying to release, but it's like it's attached to you.
-
You know it's like it's attached to you and the more you try to release, the more you're trying to stay.
-
But I'm just believing, by faith, that this next sound that this church puts up, matter of fact, if you're at home and you're going to be obedient and you're going to hear and you're not ashamed, even if you're at home.
-
I need you to make a sound and even in the building we're going to make a sound.
-
It's a sound of victory, but it's going to be a little bit of pain.
-
Don't be afraid of the pain.
-
The pain is just you fighting for your release.
-
The pain is where you, fighting for your victory.
-
I'm so excited about this sound because I believe, by faith, when this sound is over, somebody going to be lighter on their feet.
-
God is saying for you, put a notebook by your bed this week, because your mind has been clogged up for so long.
-
You stop dreaming and visioning.
-
So he said bring the notebook back by your bed because I'm going to wake you up in the night this week.
-
I'm going to show you some stuff and you need to write it down so you don't forget it.
-
So, as a matter of fact, you might want to keep the notebook in your pocket this week.
-
I'm sorry, say it bad.
-
The lord is saying keep the notebook with you in your pocket this week, or if you text yourself wherever you put your notes, because your mind has been clogged up so long you couldn't see, and now that you're about to be free, it's gonna start flowing.
-
If you're a writer, all of a sudden you're gonna be able to finish the book.
-
I declare, declare it.
-
Whatever it is you're trying to do, you're going to be able to do it because you're about to be free.
-
In this sound there is pain and victory, but it's got to be faith-based.
-
Y'all ready to make a sound.
-
Before we make this sound, you've got to believe.
-
You've got to believe that this sound is about to change everything.
-
You got to believe that this sound is about to change everything Because in the Bible we see there's always a sound that precedes a move of God.
-
They heard thunder before they got the rain.
-
There was an earthquake before the stone rolled away.
-
There's always a sound that precedes a move of God, but all this is a faith-based move.
-
Brandy, I want you to help our amazing musicians here because I want to shift in the music right here, because I want to.
-
I'm not going to tell you what to play, marcus, and I'm not going to tell you what to minister Brandy, but I need a shift right here because we're going somewhere we ain't never been before and we about to lift up a sign we ain't never lifted before and some people are going to get delivered like they ain't never been delivered before because we have faith in our God that if we are obedient to his word, we will move.
-
I'm crazy enough to believe God like that.
-
If I'm obedient, he's going to move.
-
Randy, we ready.
-
I'm going to see, i'm'm gonna see a victory, yeah now, on the count of three, on my count of three, we are going to lift up a sound as brandy sings.
-
I'm gonna see a victory.
-
For some of you, the sound may be painful, cause it's all of the stuff you've been courting.
-
But you will not stop making your sound until you see, victory.
-
For some of you it will start as pain, but it's going to end in victory.
-
Y'all ready?
-
I'm so ready.
-
Let's do this family on the count of three.
-
Brandi, you keep singing, Marcus, you keep ministering On the count of three.
-
Brandi, you keep singing, Marcus, you keep ministering on the count of three.
-
Let's make this sound One, two, three.
-
Let the prayer out, Let the praying out.
-
Let the praying out, let the praying out Come on.
-
But you got to start.
-
You got to keep letting the pain out, let the pain out, come on, but you got to keep letting the pain out and you got to make a sound until the pain shifts to victory, let the pain out you got to let the pain out.
-
But you can't stop shouting until it's victory.
-
Let the pain out.
-
Let the pain out, let the pain out, let the disappointment out, let the confusion out.
-
But we don't stop until there is victory.
-
We don't stop until there is victory.
-
Flow Brandi, flow Marcus.
-
Free the people.
-
Free the people.
-
Use her.
-
God, use her voice.
-
Free the people.
-
Use her.
-
God, use her voice.
-
Use LJ, use Isaiah, use Brandi, use us, god.
-
Come on, let's get the pain out.
-
Let the pain out so you can get the victory.
-
Let the pain out.
-
This is a safe space.
-
We let pain out because this is the victory.
-
Let the pain out.
-
This is a safe space.
-
We let pain out Because this is the adjustment.
-
Hey, hey, come on, let the pain out.
-
Let the pain out, let it out.
-
Let it out Somebody that's still in your seat.
-
The Lord loves you.
-
You didn't make it to the altar.
-
But the Lord said You're sitting down, but he sees you, he loves you.
-
Don't be afraid to let the pain out.
-
This is the safest space you can be in to get what you need.
-
This is the safest space that you can be in.
-
Yeah, I'm going to see your pain.
-
I can see it.
-
Right now I can see I look better than before.
-
I'm going to see your pain.
-
What has had me bound knows what has me bound?
-
I'm going to see it.
-
I'm going to a man.
-
What has had me bound?
-
No, there's a hand me bound.
-
I'm gonna see it.
-
I'm gonna be a man, no matter what it takes, I'm gonna see it.
-
I've got the victory.
-
I'm gonna be a man.
-
When victory hits your spirit, when victory hits your mind, I need you to give God a type of praise you personally have not given God either before or in a while.
-
You all hear what I said.
-
When victory hits your spirit, right now, at this altar in your seat, I need you to give.
-
God a praise that you ain't given him in a while, or maybe never before.
-
You ain't never yelled you ain't never cried, you ain't never ran, but when it hits you this time, there's an adjustment that has hit this whole house.
-
There's an adjustment that has hit this whole house.
-
There's an adjustment that has hit this whole house.
-
There's an adjustment that has hit this whole house.
-
There's an adjustment that has hit this whole house.
-
There's an adjustment that has hit this whole house.
-
I believe that, in my faith.
-
We're adjusting our minds.
-
We're adjusting how we love, we're adjusting our understanding of one another.
-
We're adjusting our care for one another.
-
Oh, there's victory in the house.
-
There is victory in the house.
-
Breathe on it, breathe.
-
We're adjusting our care for one another.
-
Oh, there's victory in the house.
-
There is victory in the house.
-
Breathe on us, breathe on us, breathe on us, breathe on us, breathe on us, lord, breathe on us, lord, breathe on us, lord, lord, we trust you for the victory.
-
Lord, we trust you for the victory.
-
Breathe on us, god, breathe on us, god, breathe on us.
-
God, I need somebody to inhale your victory.
-
He's breathing on you right now.
-
Inhale the victory for your family.
-
Inhale, oh, spirit of the living God, Spirit of the living God.
-
Some people are not going to even recognize you when you leave here.
-
Spirit of the living God, some people are not going to even recognize you when you leave here.
-
I promise you somebody is going to say you look different.
-
Somebody just got their clothes back.
-
You look different.
-
You stand in tall, amanda, god, you look different.
-
Your essence of who you are is silent.
-
We couldn't see you with all that stuff on, but we see you now.
-
The Lord sees you.
-
The Lord sees you.
-
Fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down to fall down.
-
Bread of the living God, fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down, fall down, say fall down, fall down and cleanse us of our sin, lord, cleanse our hearts, help us make the adjustment quickly.
-
Fall down, say fall down.
-
Fall down, say fall down, say fall down.
-
Oh faithful God, faithful King, oh Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me.
-
Spirit of the living God fall fresh on me.
-
You say Spirit of the living God.
-
Fall fresh on me, spirit of the living.
-
God fall fresh on me.
-
Listen, family in a moment, in a move like this, this is what the holy spirit would have me to do.
-
I'm going to what we call officially in service at a moment so that people can transition accordingly, but there are some real talk.
-
You need a little bit more time in this worship and at the altar and I'm going to give you that.
-
I always believe in that and in some you certainly have other responsibilities and obligations, but I just want to make sure everybody gets what they need.
