It's Actually Happening (OMG!) | Nehemiah 2:11-20 | Pastor Walter Bowers Jr.

Thank you, Lord, for your presence in your house.

God, we come to the throne boldly today, expecting and thanking you for a supernatural encounter in our worship.

Part of the worship where we sing, part of the worship where the Holy Spirit preaches, we thank you for an encounter.

God in the baseball world, a batter can come up to the plate and point to the outfield, Lord.

And we call that calling his shot.

Batter is suggesting that no matter what type of pitch is thrown, this is gonna be a home run swing.

So, Lord, you told us that when we also come to you, we ought to come to the throne boldly.

We ought to be bolder than the best batter out there.

That regardless of the pitch that is thrown at us, God, we declare that this next swing will result in a home run.

As a constant reminder, God, that you're still here.

As a constant reminder that you have never left us.

Your people need a miracle, God, so that they can continue to share the testimony of your goodness.

And when you do it, God, Lord, when you do it, we'll be careful, oh Lord, to give your name all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise.

Pray, let the people of God say, Amen, amen, amen.

To God be the glory, to God be the glory, to God be the glory.

Hallelujah.

Family, we are in this season this month.

This I should say it will last longer than a month, but we're in a season of vision where the Lord has us working on vision, not just for chosen city church, but working on vision for your house.

Because it is so true that if you don't have vision for your house, there's no way you can have vision for his house.

And so we started that journey last week and we'll continue it today.

And then some may be asking, well, Pastor, in light of everything that has happened this week or last two weeks in Charlotte, Charlotte being in the national news because of violence, and then uh the other incident that happened uh where an individual was assassinated publicly.

He's like, Pastor, do you uh do you have to shift to adjust those things?

And I said, No, not at all.

Because it is in the darkest times that God gives vision.

It's too much we gotta get past this notion that vision is this cute thing that we do in January and post on the wall, that vision will save your life.

And whenever darkness is going on in the land, God always gives vision.

And if there was ever a time that God is releasing vision, that time is now.

And to that, and in and in that vein, I want to I want to journey a little bit further today, picking up right where we left off.

Today, there's a word from the Lord found in Nehemiah the second chapter, verse 11 through 20.

And I'll be reading the New Living Translation, and it is our custom to read the word of God out loud together.

It helps you to remember what God is saying, and so we're gonna do that right now.

Nehemiah the second chapter, verse 11 through 20.

Let's do it.

Ready, set, read.

So I arrived in Jerusalem three days later.

I slipped out during the night, taking only a few others with me.

And not told anyone about the plans God had put in my heart for Jerusalem.

We took no packed animals with us except the donkey I was riding.

After dark, I went out through the valley gate, past the jackal's well, and over to the dung gate to inspect the broken walls and burn gates.

Then I went to the fountain gate and to the king's pool, but my donkey couldn't get through the rubble.

So though it was still dark, I went up the Kidron Valley instead, inspecting the wall before I turned back and entered again at the valley gate.

The city officials did not know I had been out there or what I was doing, or had not yet said anything to anyone about my plans.

I had not yet spoken to the Jewish leaders, the priests, the nobles, the officials, or anyone else in the administration.

But now I said to them, You know very well what trouble we are in.

Jerusalem lies in ruins and its gates have been destroyed by fire.

Let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and end this disgrace.

Then I told them about how the gracious hand of God had been on me and about my conversation with the king.

They replied at once, Yes, let's rebuild the wall.

So they began the good work.

But when Sagalat, Tobiah, and Geshem the Arab heard of our plan, they scoffed contemptuously.

What are you doing?

Are you rebelling against the king?

They asked.

I replied, the God of heaven will help us succeed.

We his servants will start rebuilding this wall, but you have no share, legal right, or historic claim in Jerusalem.

And I would just like to use today as a subject as the Holy Ghost would allow.

It's about to happen.

Said the vision that God gave you, it's about to happen.

Now, just in case you're set by somebody who is a non-believer or didn't get night's sleep, turn to the other side and say, the vision that God gave you, it's about to happen.

Now let's give God some glory and faith.

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen, amen, amen.

You may be seated in the presence of the Lord.

Family, the Lord has shown you in part, but now God is about to reveal the whole to you.

I want to say that real carefully.

The Lord has shown you in part what your future looks like.

He's shown you in part the potential.

If you've ever heard somebody say to you, or you said to someone, you have so much potential, what that is is a partial prophecy.

It means that you have displayed enough for people to know that there's a glimmer of hope there.

But now God is saying that I'm going to show you the whole.

But in this season, with everything that is going on, may I encourage you and show you in the Word of God that He's about to make it all come clear.

And the Lord is saying that it is critical for it all to become clear because as it becomes clear, that's what we refer to as vision.

Everybody say vision.

Vision.

Yes.

The Lord is saying that in this season you have to have a whole vision.

Not no longer is it good enough to have a partial vision.

I want to make that real plain.

It's no longer good enough to have an idea for a business, but not to have a full-fledged business plan to make sure it's going to come to pass.

It's no longer a good idea just to want to be in love.

Hey girl.

Hey, dude.

But not go through the whole entire understanding of what it takes to have a happy and healthy relationship.

The word of God is clear on that.

Proverbs 29, verse 18.

Proverbs 29:18

He says this where there is no vision, the people perish.

Can I unpack that for you?

I want to talk directly to circumstances and situations.

It is not the fact that you went through a bad breakup that will kill you.

It's not the fact that you was in a bad relationship that would kill you.

You know what's killing you?

It's that you have no vision for what's on the other side of it.

You don't have vision while you are in it, and you don't have vision for what's on the other side of it.

That's what kill the saints.

It's not the fact that you have a horrible job that you dislike and you just can't stand it.

Because if you lose, if you leave that horrible job, you will soon discover you're in the same place.

Because the reality, it wasn't the horrible job, it just that you didn't have any vision for your future.

And the word of God is clear that where there is no vision, the people perish.

I come in the name of the Holy, in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit to ask our God to release vision for a people who may be perish.

Can I say that again?

This is not universal.

I'm talking to the person sitting in your seat.

I came for you today.

Because I can't leave you.

I can't keep allowing you to come to church every Sunday and you dying every week.

Lord have mercy.

You can't keep coming to church every Sunday and you just fading away week after week.

And you're fading away because you can't see it on the other side.

And I need every deacon, minister, elder in the room to start praying.

The Lord released vision today.

Did you ever think about the fact that when I've been praying for God to send miracles today, it could be in the physical where we see somebody get healed physically?

What if somebody's miracle is that God finally give them a vision?

You don't know what it's like to call uh seeing a miracle unless you've been blind.

Yeah, you take it for granted because you've been seeing all this time, but if you don't have vision, you're blind.

And God is saying, I need to release some vision so that some people in this room can see.

Are y'all praying with me?

It's some people sitting on your road right now.

They look good on the outside, but they're dying because they can't see while they are in it, and they can't see what's on the other side of it.

Our ancestors knew the power of vision, which is why they used to sing songs that connected the vision.

They used to say stuff like, I'm gonna run on and see what the end is gonna be.

I'm gonna keep on, I'm gonna press on.

Do heights I'm gaining every day.

I want to talk to some people in the room and say that God is saying that in this season, uh, what is killing you is a lack of vision.

But men and women of God, I got some good news for you.

Not only is God releasing vision for your family, vision for yourself, vision for his church.

Not only is vision being released in this season, I got some great news for your family that you are about to get your chance.

Say it again.

So I'm about to get my chance.

I'm gonna give y'all a test right now.

See if y'all do better than eight o'clock.

See, oh y'all, see they didn't listen to uh praise 100.9 and power 98.

Y'all know that song?

I can feel it calling in the air tonight.

Oh la y'all know that song Doom doom doom oh y'all just listen to Tupac and Biggie.

Y'all anybody don't know some Phil Collins?

And it was my Phil Collins.

How long?

How long you been waiting on this moment?

I've been waiting on this moment, how long?

For all of my can I can I tell you so somebody lighter went up in the back.

Y'all help, y'all help, y'all help to say.

Can I tell you spiritually that you are about to get your chance?

Yeah, say, so say somebody say I'm about to get my chance.

I I need you to really feel this in the spirit that you are about, you have been, they don't know how long you've been waiting for this, but you have been waiting for this moment for all your life.

You've about to discover why God birthed you at a season such as this.

And I'm excited for you because you're about to get your chance.

I'm so excited for you because you have been grinding the sweat, the blood, the tears, the faith.

You finally are about to get a chance.

After all these years of not being seen, the Lord told me to tell you that you are about to get your chance, and it's right here in the Word of God in verse 11.

So it says, This is Nehemiah talking.

So I arrived in Jerusalem three days later.

Somebody said, I'm about to get my chance.

For those that may not have been with us last week, God had given Nehemiah a word through his brothers and friends that his hometown, his the place where they connected to God, their everything had been burned to the ground while they had been taken into captivity.

They lost everything.

And even though everybody knew about it, it was only Nehemiah that was troubled in his spirit to do something about it.

And visionary, that's how you know that God is giving you a vision because we said it last week, it's stuck on you.

Other people hear it and they keep moving, but you it's stuck on you.

Yeah, it's stuck on you.

And so because it was stuck on him and he couldn't let it go, he finally goes to the king and asks the king um for favor and and to do something.

And and there are three or four favors that are released uh that help Nehemiah.

Uh, the first favor that is released is the favor of time.

Y'all remember we we talked about it, and and I want to remind you briefly that because God is about to give you your chance, he's about to bless you with the favor of time.

What do you mean?

Well, when Nehemiah went to the king, because Nehemiah was the cupbearer to the king, he said, I just need a little bit of time to go back because my hometown is destroyed.

I I just need one shot.

I just need one opportunity.

Just give me one moment, and the king blessed him.

Can I tell you that God is about to give you one shot?

He's about to give you an opportunity, he's about to give you the time.

You used to say, I mean, if I just had time, God said, You got it today.

I need somebody who's been praying there.

Lord, uh, you gotta walk in faith.

Somebody said, I've I just and God said, You got you just got it.

Lord, have mercy.

I I wish somebody could just praise God because you could receive that in the spirit.

I thought I didn't have time, but God, hey, hey, God just gave me time, he gave me time today.

And and he blesses them with time.

But because he was bold enough to ask for everything that he needed, Rem Shank, he he said, Uh uh King, um, I I I need some I need some protection.

He said, What I'm when I'm I gotta travel through the enemy's camp to get back, uh to get my shot.

And the king said, I'm gonna give you a letter.

So anybody that comes up against you, they not coming against you, they coming against me.

And I'm gonna recourage you in the spirit again.

When God has given you a vision, when they come against you, they not coming against you, they fighting your king.

So, what are you afraid about?

You better, hey, what are you afraid of?

So he gave him the favor of time, he gave him the favor of protection, and then he gave him the favor of provision.

He said, King, when I get there, um I I need some resources.

Um, and and and and and he said, Would you allow uh your financer over the timber?

And that's what I said last week, the Lord is releasing timber.

Uh, timber in the Bible is a sign of wealth.

Can I prophesy that the Lord is releasing timber?

I know that some of you may have grew up in the church and you clutch your pearls whenever somebody starts talking about money.

But when we look at the book of Nehemiah, we learn quickly that wherever there is a vision from God, there is always provision.

And you ought to be thanking God right now and asking God, God, send me some timber, send me some provision for what the thing that you have called me to do.

And and when we and when we operate in faith, and then Nehemiah got up to start moving, and then the king got happy.

Yeah, remember um when when the the king will always get happy when the scene the king sees you operating in your purpose.

The king got so happy that he gave Nehemiah something that he didn't ask for.

He said, Nehemiah, I'm gonna send my army with you, and that's a sign of overflow.

Everybody say overflow.

When you are being obedient to God, not only does he give you time, not only does he give you protection, not only does he give you provision, he gives you overflow.

Those are the things that you didn't pray for, but he blessed you because the king got happy.

Yeah.

Um, how does the king get happy when we are operating in obedience?

Because the word of God says the obedience is better than sacrifice.

Uh and I need you to stop being hard-headed in this season.

I need you to stop being stubborn in this season.

I need you to start being stopped, being stiff-necked in this season.

And I need your answer to be yes, Lord, yes.

Uh I'll say yes, Lord, yes, to your will and to your way.

I'll say, yes, Lord, yes, I will trust you and your way.

When your spirit speaks to me, that means when you give me a vision, my whole heart I will agree.

And then my answer will be yes, Lord, yes.

If I could just get about 200 visionaries in the room that are willing to say, God, I'll say yes, Lord, yes, do your will and do your way off.

If you tell me to run for an office, I'll run for a doctor.

If you tell me to volunteer at the school, I'll go off to it.

If you tell me to become a guardian at Lanham, I'll do it, doctor.

If you tell me to be a foster parent, I'll make away of it.

I'll say yes, Lord, yes, doctor.

Do your will and do your way, I'll say yes, Lord, yes, of course.

I will trust you and when your spirit speaks to me with my whole heart.

I'll agree.

And I answer will be yes, Lord, yes.

And because Nehemiah operates in obedience, he arrives in Jerusalem three days later.

We're reminded in the Bible that many times when we see the number three is the number of what, family?

Completion.

Can I tell somebody that you're about to complete the struggle and you're about to arrive at your place of purpose?

You're about to complete this struggle to arrive at the place of purpose.

You're about to get your chance.

I didn't say this at eight o'clock.

I'm gonna I'm gonna say it right here.

Don't mess it up this time.

Y'all, you're about to get your chance.

I'm a man of God.

I some you about to get you been praying for the Lord.

You get you said, God, I came to church.

They need a confirmation.

The answer is you're about to get your chance.

And the Holy Ghost said, Tell them, don't mess it up this time.

Y'all, we're gonna preach to one another, turn to somebody right be sleep.

Say, don't mess it up this time.

Listen, you already messing up.

You over here texting and tweeting.

Ain't in the text or tweet about it.

I see preachers texting and tweeting.

You about to mess it up already.

That's why you're stuck where you are.

Don't mess it up this time.

I ain't playing with it today because I'm trying to see some people shift.

I'm trying to see some people get set free.

I'm trying to see you get your miracle.

Because I ain't gonna lie to you, God has been blessing me real good in this season, Deacon Bailey.

And I don't want to be the only one in the room blessed.

And I got blessed by being obedient to what God told me.

That's all I did.

And if it started the head, it flows down to the body.

But I'm just trying to tell your body that I wasn't perfect, I would just been obedient.

I didn't always do right, but I started to trust him.

And I'm just trying to get some other people in the room that said, I'm trying to get mine, and I'm trying to get it now that I'm gonna be obedient to everything that he called me to do, and I ain't gonna mess it up this time.

Somebody's about to get my chance.

Somebody get I'm about to get my chance.

You're about to get your chance.

Then the next thing he says, When you get your chance, here's what you gotta do.

Write this down.

Get your core team together and keep your mouth closed.

Get your core team.

You about to get your chance, bro.

You've been pro you've been asking, you've been precision, you about to get your chance.

Get your core team together and keep your mouth closed.

I'm in the Bible.

Everything I say is in the word of God.

Chapter and verse.

I'm in the Bible.

Here it is.

Verse 12.

I slipped out during the night, taking only a few others with me.

He said he slipped out during the night because he was that because he didn't want everybody to see what he was up to because it wasn't the time.

Somebody said it's not the time.

And he only took a few others with him.

We know this is biblical because Jesus uh was known to operate with 12 disciples, even though there were a lot more.

He had 12 that were close.

But in the close 12, he had an inner circle.

How many people?

Somebody said it right there.

Just three.

Um, I know y'all know the Bible, y'all know math.

Three three out of twelve is what percent?

What's that?

25%.

Can I suggest to you?

Not from everybody you know, I'm talking about the ones that's closer than close.

Of the ones that are closer than close, may I suggest to you that it may be 25% or less that can handle everything that God is showing you right now.

Amen, somebody.

It don't mean that they don't love you, it don't mean that they don't have your back, but they can't handle it.

And the problem is that when God gives us vision, some of us open our mouths too soon.

Look at what Nehemiah says.

He says, I had not told anyone about the plans God had put in my heart for Jerusalem.

Y'all, I gave out vision books last week, and I'm gonna give out them today right after service for those who didn't give it.

But I've been in this game a long time.

I gave the macro level of the vision, the big level.

I did pay attention when they talked the macro and microeconomics.

I found that interesting.

So I gave y'all the macro, but I kept the micro in my heart.

Because I realized that people would take the macro and take it down to the sizzler and take it down to Zaxby's and hey, y'all see what's going on, and then in conversation with Scar.

So there is nothing in that book that I'm afraid of getting out publicly because I know my people.

Amen.

Somebody.

I love y'all, but I know us.

I I know I know my people that deserve.

So the macro is here because if I release the micro too soon, I run the risk of messing stuff up.

The problem is God gave you a vision, but you talked too much.

God did give you a vision, but you spoke too soon.

You had to go on Facebook Live, didn't you?

God spoke to you at four o'clock in the morning.

About 6 15 a.m.

I'm going live.

I got a few more followers in the room.

I want to let everybody know what I'm about to release to the atmosphere.

God is saying you need to close your mouth in this season.

I'm just going in the Bible because I'm trying to help you.

Because sometimes we talk too soon.

So Nehemiah, he said, I had not told anyone about the plans God put in my heart for Jerusalem.

And then he says, We took no packed animals with us except the donkey I was riding, because again, he's moving in silence.

He's moving in a stealth like manner.

Had he taken all of what he had, it would have made too much noise.

And can I talk to you this season and say, stop making so much noise?

Move silently toward the objective.

Can I get you to do that?

To move silently toward the objective.

You're not afraid, uh, you're you're not ashamed, uh, but you're getting things together.

Somebody say, I'm getting stuff together.

Uh tell them I'm just getting it together.

Tell them I I I hadn't switched up on you, but uh in this season, I'm just getting my stuff together.

That's somebody in the room, they think you switched up, they think you're acting funny, they think you're acting different.

No, you just getting your stuff together because you know that your God, God, has something in store for you.

Yeah, yeah.

He he's getting his stuff together and and he's going at dark and and he goes through the valley gate and past the jackals well and over to the dung gate.

And next week I will show you the power of these gates.

But for today, I need you to know that he was on inspection.

He was expecting the walls and the and the burned down gates, he was expecting the rubble and he was expecting everything that has been torn down.

Men and women of God, uh, I want to tell you something that in this season, uh, as you are getting your core team together, uh uh side point, you ought to pray right now for your core team.

Uh, we're gonna have an altar call at the at the end of worship, and I need you to pray for your core team.

Who's your core team?

If one of your core team members is here, you better grab him by the hand today and pray for your core team as you keep your mouth closed.

Because right now, God is saying is the only person that needs to know is uh is him, uh, you, and the people that you can trust the most.

This ain't the season uh to invite the enemy into the room because every time vision goes forth, here comes the enemy, and you gotta be ready.

And I'm here to tell some of us you're not ready because you're still in a season of inspection.

What does inspection look like, Elder Rosa?

Inspection is the season where I go and I survey Brittany everything that was torn down.

Whatever vision that God is giving you, and I pray I'm gonna ask a scary question.

It ain't scary because you're gonna have vision today.

Everybody that got vision for your life or for your relationship, for your career, for your I don't, whatever it is.

Every hand, I pray every hand is up.

If your hand is not up, your miracle will be.

We declaring that God is gonna release a vision for you in Jesus' name.

That's our prayer.

Okay, here it is, visionaries.

We we together.

I need you to see in the spirit, like Nehemiah.

Now you've made it, you've arrived to the place of purpose.

You've arrived to the place that God birthed you for this moment.

Can I tell you that's why God birthed you for this moment?

He birthed you for this moment.

You've gotten to this moment, now you gotta inspect.

When I come in the aisle when I'm preaching, it is not just because I like to walk and talk.

I come into the aisle when I'm preaching because I'm expecting the people that God has called me to serve.

Y'all didn't know that.

I just let y'all know one of the things that I do.

Because something up there I got, I got I can't see as good.

But also I feel better when I come out here.

I can feel people that got hopes and dreams, I can feel people that's suicidal.

I can't, I seriously can't.

It may sound spooky to you, but God gives uh those of us that are in spiritual leadership, and some of y'all got it.

Y'all can feel stuff.

Y'all might not lose, use the churchy language that I use, but y'all be like, that's vibe off over there.

Well, in reality, what I'm doing is I'm inspecting the house.

I'm inspecting the house right now.

I'm inspecting the house right now.

Because if we're going to build, the first thing I gotta do is inspect.

I can't talk to you about a plan for chosen city church, but I'm sensing that your house is in ruins.

How I'm gonna talk to you about a building fund, but you gotta go to divorce court in the morning.

I'm inspecting the house to see where we are.

How I'm gonna talk to you about all this vision stuff, but you ain't got over cocaine and marijuana and all other vices in you.

How I'm gonna talk to you and pornography still got a stronghold on you.

So I I'm inspecting the house.

That pastor's inspect, that's where you inspect the house.

And when we inspect the house, is the enemy will have you to think that a pastor is inspecting the house to judge you.

A real pastor is inspecting the house to build you back up.

That's that's what it is.

I don't care what you did, but you won't leave here like you came in Jesus' name.

That's what we come here for.

So I inspect the house and it gets heavy.

It gets heavy when you inspect the house because you start sensing stuff.

I sense stuff right now.

It almost makes me want to cry.

I have to hold it back because I can sense what somebody is really going through.

But I'm gonna here tell you, you came on the right day.

You came on the right day.

You came on the right day, you came on the right day, you came on the right day because the Lord sees you right where you are.

Every visionary in the room, the same way that me as a pastor, I have to inspect.

The same way that Nehemiah I had to inspect.

I need y'all to start inspecting.

Inspect what what happened?

You gotta deal with it honestly.

You gotta inspect where it fell down at.

You gotta inspect it, examine it.

You gotta Go out in the dark and smell the ashes.

You got to go out and look amongst the rubble.

You got to go out and look on what the enemy did in last season, not to be defeated by, but so that God can download a fresh plan.

And you got to inspect what happened and failed in your last relationship so it don't fail in this relationship.

You got to inspect what happened at your last church that called you to leave, so it don't happen here.

I need some people that's not afraid to inspect.

The Bible says, examine ourselves.

And the reason that some of y'all end up in the same cycle year after year is because you're afraid of the inspection.

I ain't lying.

You got this theology that you just gonna forget about it.

But I ain't call you to forget about it today.

I need you to inspect it.

Amen, somebody.

Can I talk about it?

Can I say how I feel it?

How you in, and I say, I'm you know, by the way, anything y'all say, I've been there, done that, got a t-shirt.

But how you in your third relationship since 12 months ago?

You gotta inspect that.

How you unemployed again?

I'm sorry.

That sounds harsh.

I'm all pastor now.

I love y'all.

There's too much going on.

How you unemployed again?

Every time we turn up, you unemployed.

You gotta inspect that.

You you don't you?

How you sick again?

You got to inspect, we don't want to inspect it, do we?

We don't want to have that real examination and look in the mirror and say, God, this is what's burned down, this is how it got burned down, but I'm not gonna keep going through the same cycle.

And I come against cycles right now in the mighty name of Jesus.

And if I could get 50 people seriously in this room to come against cycles, God said the next miracle is I'm gonna break the cycle.

The first miracle was vision for the person that had vision, but the next miracle is the cycle is about to be broken.

Lord have mercy.

I wish I had some people that say I want the cycle to be broken.

I'm tired of the same cycle, I'm tired of going round and round, I'm tired of the same depression, I'm tired of the same situation.

Break the cycle, God.

Pray out loud.

Break the cycle, God.

Open your mouth, break the cycle, God.

Break the cycle, God, break, break the cycle, God.

Break it.

I feel the glory.

Somebody over here got it.

Break the cycle, God.

Ain't no way I'm gonna be in this satisfied time next year.

Break the cycle, God.

Break it, Lord.

The Lord is saying, I'm showing it to you in the spirit right now.

He said, I'm showing it to you in the spirit.

Don't be afraid of it.

If God just gave you a flashback, that was from God, not to bring you down, but to show you so you can break the cycle.

There are some of you in the room, suddenly you had a flashback to something that happened years ago.

It was buried.

The reason God brought it back up was not to put you in a bad spot, but to show you that it hadn't yet to be broken.

But there is a word from the Lord.

The Lord said He's gonna break it.

Not tomorrow, but today.

That's the faith walk.

Today, today, hey, today, today, today, today, hey, hey, today, today, today, today.

I don't know who this beautiful, amazing woman of God is, but I just need one of the elders to come over here and worship and just pray with her.

Just just today, God is breaking something today.

Hey, come on, I need one of y'all to move cooking, one of my women's elders to get over here today, today, today, today, today, today.

Elders inspect the room.

Ministers inspect the room.

Deacon Kim, inspect the room.

Inspect the room.

He inspected a room, and because he's still operating in silence, the Bible says that the city officials did not know he had been out there or what he was doing, for he had not yet said anything to anyone about his plans.

He makes it clear he had not spoken to the Jewish leadership, the priests, the nobles, the officials, or anyone else in administration.

I gotta bust the myth right now for all the visionaries in the room.

God has given you vision for a place where you are not even in charge.

The vision that God has given you does not conflict with his set leader, but it confirms and it supports that in which God is doing through that set woman or man of God.

You gotta here's the problem, I ain't free some of you all.

Some of you all think that you got to have a title, that you got to be the top dog before before God will release vision through you.

But Nehemiah shows us differently.

Nehemiah was just a cupbearer to the king.

That boy was working in the kitchen when God said, I got something greater for you.

He showed Nehemiah something, he didn't show King Artaxerxes, he didn't show the priests, he didn't show the nobles, he didn't show the pastor, he showed it to Nehemiah.

Because God is not a respecter of person, and I need to free some of y'all and say you need to open your mouth at the appointed time, because God is showing you something that's gonna be a blessing to the place where God has you situated.

You will be a blessing to the church that you serve in when you open your mouth at the appointed time, but it's not what you say, it's how you say it.

Somebody says how.

The Lord is saying that uh you still have to be humble and you still have to be respectful, but but but at the appointed time, you are God is about to make you an influencer.

Yeah, at the appointed time, God is about to make you an influencer.

Because the only way that people will get on your uh see what you see is if you have the spiritual ability to influence them.

The only way people in your family that you've been praying to come back to church will come back to church is if you have the spiritual ability to influence them.

Side point, you can influence them up or you can influence them down.

Uh when you go home and start talking about everything that you didn't like, congratulations, your kinfolk ain't never coming.

Uh, when you go home and talk about everything that's a struggle about being an entrepreneur, congratulations.

Your child will never open a business.

Yeah.

Uh, when you go home and you talk about everything that's crazy about being married, congratulations.

She ain't gonna never let nobody put a ring on it because you have been influencing people the wrong way.

But I come against that, that's broken too.

Yeah, you gotta stop complaining out loud.

Yeah, you gotta stop saying this kind of stuff because you are a visionary, you have influence, and God is about to use your influence to make it happen.

Yeah, it is true that God will release vision to you right where you are, and there was a moment where you needed to keep your mouth closed, there was a moment you needed to get your core team together, and there was a moment that you needed to operate in silence, but here comes yet another moment because Nehemiah teaches us here it is, that at the appropriate time you will share what he showed you, Lord.

As God is getting ready to use you greatly, you've arrived, you've inspected, now it's time to share.

So initially didn't say, but then there was a butt in verse 17.

Now, at the appointed time, I said to them, You know very well what trouble we are in.

Because the reality is you know the trouble that your family is in.

But somebody say, but let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and end this disgrace.

Uh Nehemiah is reminding us at the appointed time, uh, you will release what it is that God has shown unto you.

Uh, and you will influence people to jump in because Nehemiah understood that he could not do this thing by himself.

You have to understand that God is giving me vision for this church, he's giving me vision for this city, but I cannot do it by myself.

Yeah, you have to understand that God is giving you vision for your family, he's giving you vision for your marriage, he's giving you vision for your children, but you cannot do it by yourself.

That's the reason you've gotten tired because you have been trying to do it by yourself.

But the Lord said, I'd never call you to do it by yourself, X.

I called you to influence others to jump into the fight.

Uh, you ought to be able to get somebody to jump into the fight with you.

Uh you ought to be able to get somebody to jump in and help you to rebuild the wall.

Uh you say, How do I uh get other people to jump into the fight?

Uh how do I rally troops to build the wall?

How do I get other people to get into the game?

Uh well, I'm glad you asked that question because the answer is found in verse 18.

Uh, you have to learn to motivate people through your testimony.

Yeah, it is through your testimony and people realizing what you have gone through that you will motivate people uh to jump into the fight.

Look at verse 18.

He said, Then I told them uh, not about my problems, but I told them about the gracious hand of God and how God's hand had been on me and about my conversation with the king.

Remember now, uh Nehemiah had to go through hell and high water just to make it back through Jerusalem.

Uh he told them how God favored them, he told them how God protected him, uh, and they had to say, Well, if God would do all that for him, uh, surely he would do the same for me.

Uh, if God would take all the time out and cover Nehemiah, then perhaps there's something to this individual named Nehemiah.

Perhaps Nehemiah is a leader after all.

After all, why would God favor just the nobody?

Can I encourage you today, like Jesse Jackson used to?

You ought to be able to say, I am somebody.

Yeah.

You ought to say it real loud.

Say, I am somebody, yeah.

It's been a long time since you declared that you was all of that.

You ought to be able to say, I am somebody.

I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

And no matter what comes up against you, I just want to remind you that the vision is in good hands.

Because the revival reminds me to touch not the head of the anointed and to do the prophets no harm.

That's to suggest that when God ever gives you a vision, you don't have to worry about who is not on your team.

You don't have to worry about who can't see it.

You can't worry about who is not for it.

You don't have to worry about who skips the opening ceremony.

You don't have to worry about who refuses to share it on social media.

You don't have to worry about those that got something sideways to say.

The only thing that you are required to do is learn to invoke the Holy Ghost.

Fill them up, God they got empty watching the news, uh fill them up, God they got empty what's going on in the country.

Fill them up, God they got empty, trying to take care of their families.

Fill them up, God and as you fill them, God, uh, now God allow them to pray in the spirit.

This is how I can say prophetically it's about to happen because the spirit is about to make sure the vision is in alignment with the will of God.

I know it's about to happen for you.

It's why at the old church we used to have songs and sayings like this.
