Under the blood, under the blood.
-
Okay. Let me read from Leviticus. Let's go back to the law and read a little
-
bit of law to want to it to you.
-
It's Leviticus 14 verses 14 to 18.
-
And it says, the priest will then take some of the blood of the guilt offering
-
and apply it to the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand,
-
and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified.
-
Then the priest will pour some of the olive oil into the palm of his own left hand.
-
He will dip his finger into the oil in the palm and sprinkle some of it with
-
his finger seven times before the Lord.
-
The priest will then apply some of the oil in his palm over the blood from the
-
guilt offering that is on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right
-
hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified. Are you following me?
-
The priest will apply the oil remaining in his hand to the head of the person being purified.
-
Through this process, the priest will purify the person before the Lord.
-
Now for several days this week, several days...
-
The Holy Spirit has been impressing on me, on my heart, the importance and the
-
power of the blood of Jesus.
-
Okay. I sense that the Holy Spirit and we're a week since Christmas and we're, sorry, since Easter,
-
we're probably a few more weeks since Christmas, but we're a week since Easter
-
and we're a week before a federal election.
-
We're right in between Easter and an election.
-
And I sense that the Holy Spirit is trying to send a notice to us,
-
to the church, to get back to the blood, to get back to the blood,
-
not only in our own thinking,
-
but in our speaking and our thinking and our living. Amen.
-
In Joshua 2 verse 18, it says this, when we come into the land,
-
you must leave this scarlet rope hanging from the window through which you let us down.
-
And all your family members, your father, mother, brothers, and all your relatives
-
must be here inside the house. Now, this talks about Rahab the harlot.
-
Rahab the harlot who saved herself and her entire family from destruction when
-
she hung a scarlet thread from her window. Now, that scarlet thread represents the blood.
-
Okay. Another example, Exodus 12, very well-known example to do with the blood.
-
Exodus 12 and verse 23 says, For the Lord will pass through the land to strike down the Egyptians.
-
But when he sees the blood on top and sides of the doorframe,
-
the Lord will pass over your home.
-
He will not permit the death angel to enter your house and strike you down.
-
Now the children of Israel saved their entire household from the death angel
-
when they applied the blood of the lamb to the top and the sides of the doorposts.
-
Now, let's look again at our scripture from Leviticus this morning.
-
The scripture that we read earlier, Leviticus 14, deals with the cleansing of a leper.
-
Leprosy in the Old Testament was symbolic for sin.
-
Now, what the text shows us is that the leper was not considered clean until
-
the blood was applied to their life.
-
And after the leper was pronounced clean by the application of the blood,
-
then the priest would apply the oil on right on top of the blood.
-
The oil was only applied where the blood was present.
-
The importance of that to you and to I is this, okay?
-
The Holy Spirit answers to the blood, Okay, if we're talking about applying
-
oil to where the blood was applied,
-
then that's saying to me that the Holy Spirit answers to the blood.
-
The Holy Spirit witnesses to the blood.
-
The Holy Spirit honors the blood.
-
The Holy Spirit testifies to the blood.
-
And the Holy Spirit, wait for it, waits for the blood.
-
Waits for the blood. In other words, the Holy Spirit comes where the blood has been applied.
-
First, it's the blood, and then it's the oil.
-
If there's no blood, there's no salvation. If there's no blood,
-
there's no deliverance. We're talking about blood this morning.
-
I was thinking Angela in her preaching hands out gifts to people.
-
I'm talking about blood this morning. I'm thinking, what could I hand out?
-
No, I'm not handing out bags of blood to people.
-
So if there's no blood, there's no deliverance. As I said, if there's no blood, there's no oil.
-
There's no blood, therefore there's no power. There's no blood,
-
there's no anointing. If there's no blood, there's no peace.
-
If there's no blood, there's no authority. Are you following?
-
If there's no blood, there's no joy.
-
And if there's no blood, there's no protection. No wonder the Holy Spirit is
-
trying to bring the church back under the blood No wonder the Bible says in
-
Hebrews 9.22 In fact, according to the law of Moses,
-
nearly everything was purified with blood.
-
For without the shedding of blood, there's no forgiveness.
-
Now, in a few weeks' time, we are celebrating Pentecost.
-
In a few weeks, probably five or six weeks, I think it is, after 49 days there.
-
To be exact. To be exact. Thank you, mate.
-
49 days. So, I'm here to tell you this morning that there is no Pentecost without Passover.
-
There's no Pentecost without Passover. Passover, as we read,
-
is when the death angel had to pass over the houses with the blood on the doorposts.
-
There was a spirit of death that looked at every household, Egyptian and Israelite,
-
and the only safe house was the house under the blood.
-
Now, if there's no Pentecost without power, it means there's no fire without the blood. Okay.
-
On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came to the upper room and baptized
-
120 men and women in supernatural fire.
-
But that was after the shedding of blood.
-
In Acts 2 verse 1, let's read about it. On the day of Pentecost,
-
all the believers, all the believers, all those who were washed in the blood
-
were meeting together in one place.
-
Suddenly there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm
-
and it filled the house where they were sitting.
-
Then what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.
-
And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other
-
languages as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
-
You know what that's telling me? It's telling me that you've got to go to Calvary
-
before you go to the upper room.
-
You need to go and experience the blood before you go to the upper room and
-
experience the power of the Holy Spirit.
-
The pathway to power is soaked in blood.
-
If you want to walk in power with the lion of the tribe of Judah,
-
who doesn't want to walk with the lion of the tribe of Judah,
-
first you have to be covered with the blood of the lamb.
-
Amen? You have to be covered. I'm talking about the blood this morning.
-
I'm talking about the blood of Jesus this morning.
-
There's something happening in my spirit and in our spirits,
-
I believe, when we talk of the blood.
-
Something stands up inside of me, the hair on the back of my neck, and it stands up.
-
I feel my spirit wake up. I feel the anointing, stirring.
-
I thank God for the blood. I thank God for the blood. I know we're all modern today.
-
We're all modern today, and we've got access to the libraries of the world at
-
our fingertips through these sort of things, okay?
-
We can flip on a TV anytime, day or night, and hear someone preaching or teaching the word, can't we?
-
Angela and I listen to Elaine all the time, listening in her house to all this
-
staticky preaching, but that's all right. We love it. We love it.
-
So we've got Bibles on our tablets. We've got Bibles on our iPads and phones.
-
We can study the Hebrew and the Greek, can't we, Andrew? just on our phone and
-
the meaning of the Bible words right from our phones.
-
We are in a hear it all, see it all, and know it all generation, aren't we?
-
But for all our technology and all of our intelligence and know-how,
-
I'm concerned that we've lost something, okay?
-
Our grandmothers and our grandfathers, even perhaps our mothers and our fathers,
-
didn't have access to all those modern conveniences and technology like we do today.
-
But they had something that I believe we've lost in our modern high-tech church age.
-
They understood the importance of living under the blood of Jesus.
-
They understood the importance of it. They would do something they would call plead the blood.
-
They would plead the blood.
-
They would plead the blood on everything, the house, the car,
-
the dog, the cat, the garden, everything was covered with the blood of Jesus.
-
They pleaded, they pled the blood.
-
They might not have understood it and we might not understand it,
-
but that word plead is actually a legal term. It was an answer to judgment.
-
Okay. The judge would say, you've been charged with such and such a crime. How do you plead?
-
And the accused would answer, I plead guilty or I plead not guilty.
-
Well, the legal proceedings such as that carries over to the spiritual realm as well.
-
When the devil comes around saying, you've been accused of this or that or this
-
crime, and the devil says you've sinned and you've come short of the glory of God.
-
What is your defense? He says to you. Well, that's when you look the devil in
-
the eye and you square back your shoulders and you say, I plead the blood.
-
I plead the blood.
-
I plead that the blood is my defense. The blood speaks for me.
-
In the natural, here's a bit of obvious information for you here.
-
In the natural, if you don't have blood, you're dead.
-
Okay? If you don't have blood, I don't care how big you are,
-
how muscular, how fit, how pretty the body may be, without the blood, you're dead. Okay?
-
Have you noticed today, and in the world today, there's a bit of a fascination
-
in the world over zombie movies and zombie TV shows.
-
What's that show that's just come back on?
-
The Last of Us? I think that's just come, if anyone's interested in zombie shows, The Last of Us.
-
But there is, there's this fascination at the moment over zombie movies and
-
dressing like zombies and acting like zombies.
-
Okay. Do you know something? I've got to post a bit of a warning here.
-
So put your seatbelts on and strap yourselves in.
-
The church these days has become something like zombies.
-
Okay. Zombies are the living dead or the walking dead. Okay.
-
And that's what any church, any Christian without the blood in their life is.
-
They're the walking dead. Told you to put your seatbelts on.
-
Any church, any preacher, any pastor, any believer who does not love the blood
-
is nothing but a spiritual zombie.
-
Okay? There's no such thing as a Christian without the blood. Okay?
-
Jesus said, except you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life.
-
That's what Jesus said. The gospel is a blood-soaked gospel. Amen.
-
Calvary was blood-soaked.
-
The cross of Jesus was soaked in blood. Sorry, Josh.
-
Jesus carried his own blood into the holy place and offered it upon the mercy seat in heaven.
-
His own blood. God accepted Jesus' blood as an offering for sin.
-
And it's by and because of that same blood that you and I are saved today.
-
So without the blood, you and I are dead. It's by and because of that same blood that we're saved.
-
Now, church, listen to me. The Holy Spirit says to you today,
-
lay aside those garments that are stained with sin and be washed in the blood of the lamb.
-
There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean, oh, be washed in the blood of the lamb.
-
The reason why many of our churches today are lifeless and powerless is because they're anemic.
-
What does anemic mean? Lack of blood. Lack of red blood, I believe,
-
isn't it, Ange? Yep. Anemia?
-
Good. Yep. Hemoglobin.
-
Margaret knew that too.
-
So churches are lifeless in power because they're anemic. They're weak-blooded.
-
They have a blood deficiency. Okay.
-
If you want to see the power of God in the church again, then start talking about the blood.
-
Sing about the blood. Testify about the blood.
-
Testify about the blood. Preach about the blood and look for the blood.
-
Look for the blood. That's what the Holy Spirit is looking for.
-
That's the question the Holy Spirit is asking every church these days,
-
I believe. Where is the blood?
-
Where is the blood? Just as surely as the death angel passed through Egypt and
-
death, and death came to every house where the blood was not applied.
-
Death is passing through the land today, and the only safe place is under the blood.
-
Under the blood. Australia, we have an election next week.
-
Get under the blood. Get under the blood.
-
Friends, everyone here, family, get under the blood.
-
Get under the blood. And when we're back under the blood, you know what happens?
-
We're back under power. We're back under the power.
-
First it's blood, and then it's glory. First it's Passover, then it's Pentecost.
-
First it's blood, then it's power. Blood on the right ear. Blood on the right thumb.
-
Blood on the big toe of the right foot, then oil, then oil.
-
After the blood was applied, the priests dumped the rest of the oil on the cleansed leper's head.
-
And the head is representative of the whole body.
-
When the head is anointed, the body is anointed. First it's cleansing,
-
then it's blood, then it's power.
-
The Bible says in Proverbs 28, 13, from the Passion Translation,
-
it says, if you cover up your sin, you'll never do well.
-
But if you confess your sins and forsake them, you will be kissed by mercy.
-
The Bible was speaking of believers failing or sinning when it says in 1 John
-
1 verse 9, but if we freely admit our sins, when the light uncovers them,
-
and he will be faithful to forgive us every time.
-
God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to
-
cleanse us from all righteousness.
-
It's nothing but the blood that cleanses us from our sins. and the blood can
-
only cleanse what you confess, okay?
-
The blood can only remove what you repent of. Let's talk about repentance for a little while.
-
Repentance is more than just saying, I'm sorry. Repentance is a new way of living.
-
Repentance is about face. It's turning around.
-
Repentance is the doorway through which God's grace enters to empower us so
-
that you can stop sinning.
-
That's what repentance is.
-
The prodigal son, let's think about the prodigal son. The prodigal son didn't
-
just think about getting out of the pig pen.
-
He actually got out of the pig pen. He didn't just change the way he thought about the pig pen.
-
He picked himself up, set his feet on the ground and on the road to his father's house.
-
He repented He repented The Holy Spirit doesn't come to us To wallow around
-
with us in the pig pen Okay Jesus does love us the way we are Yes,
-
But he also loves us too much To leave us the way we are It's time to start
-
applying the blood everyone Josh come up for me.
-
This must be the church's finest hour.
-
I feel like Winston Churchill right now. This must be the church's finest hour.
-
And in order for this to be our finest hour, we've got to get back to having
-
Pentecostal power in our lives.
-
And the only way we get to the power is through the blood.
-
It's through the blood. The cross is the doorway to power in our lives.
-
If there had been no Calvary and there had been no cross and there had been
-
no crucifixion, then there would have been no blood,
-
no resurrection, and then there would have been no Pentecost and there would have been no power.
-
There's no shortcut to power.
-
There's no testimony without a test, okay?
-
There's no victory without a fight in our lives.
-
There's no victory without a fight. There's no crown without a cross.
-
And there's no power without blood.
-
The devil's not afraid of our singing. And he isn't afraid of our shouting and our dancing.
-
And he's not even afraid of our preaching.
-
But there's one thing that sends shockwaves through hell. and that's a church
-
that lives by the blood of the Lamb.
-
Really is. A church that knows how to plead the blood. Plead the blood.
-
A church that knows how to wage war by the power of the blood.
-
And they overcame him, the Bible says, by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
-
Amen. Let's get back under the blood, everyone. Let's get back under the blood
-
as we prepare to vote next Saturday, or some of us already have voted.
-
It's a good feeling to have the votes done.
-
As we prepare, let's start pleading the blood over our nation.
-
Let's start pleading the blood over our politicians and government.
-
Let's start pleading the blood over everything that has an impact to us in this country. Amen.
-
Let's plead the blood. Let's stand by the blood that overcomes all.
-
Let's let God arise in our lives and plead the blood. They overcame Him.
-
They overcame it all by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
-
Lord, we thank You, Father. We thank You, Jesus, for the blood.
-
We thank You that the blood was shed. Lord, I thank You that the blood was shed
-
for me and for all those, Lord God, who are with me today.
-
Lord, the blood was shed so that we could overcome. The blood was shed so that
-
we could then be anointed with the holy oil of power in our lives.
-
Lord, the blood was shed so that we could overcome and that Lord,
-
we could surrender to allow You to overcome, Lord.
-
We thank You, Lord, for the blood that was shed for the remission of sin in our life.
-
We thank You, Lord, for the blood that was shed that we could be healed of anything
-
in Jesus' Name. We thank You, Lord, that the blood was shed.
-
And what we do this morning, Lord, is we plead the blood.
-
Plead the blood over our own lives, Lord God.
-
We plead the blood over our family's life. We plead the blood over this city,
-
Lord God, over this area of the Southern Highlands.
-
Lord, we plead the blood over the state of New South Wales, Lord.
-
We plead the blood of Jesus over the Commonwealth of Australia.
-
Especially now, Lord, when we are preparing a new election, a vote,
-
Lord, for new government, Lord.
-
We plead the blood of Jesus over that.
-
And that, Lord, that would be washed clean.
-
And Lord, as Andrew prayed earlier, that the evil will be uncovered,
-
by the blood of the Lamb, Lord, and be washed clean by the blood of the Lamb,
-
and be exposed by the blood of the Lamb.
-
Lord, we plead the blood of Jesus over our lives and the lives of those we love, Lord God.
-
And we plead the blood of Jesus over this nation.
-
We plead the blood of Jesus, Lord. I plead the blood of Jesus over every person here.
-
Precious blood of Jesus that was spilled for each and every one of us.
-
I plead that blood over you this morning in Jesus' Name. And I want you to go.
-
I want you to go. And I want you to believe that and show that and speak about that and live like that.
-
Live by the power of the blood in your life and overcome, overcome every situation,
-
over every illness, over every concern.
-
Plead the blood, plead the blood. So we thank you for the blood, Lord God.
-
We thank you for your blood, Jesus.
-
The blood of the Lamb of God, the blood of the Lamb of God that was shed for
-
us. Lord, we claim that this morning.
-
Lord, put it on my right ear, put it on my right thumb, put it on my right big toe.
-
Lord, wash me in your blood. Wash me clean.
-
Wash me clean by the blood of the Lamb. It has the power to overcome it all,
-
the blood of the Lamb. And we thank you, Lord.
-
We thank you for the blessing of the blood in our lives.
-
Music.
