  17. it on and these two these two sitting in the front row here tomorrow tomorrow

  18. they celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary. How good is that?

  19. Fantastic. And there's also a birthday tomorrow.

  20. He tried to tell me not to do anything and not worry about cakes,

  21. but Andrew, what have I said about birthday cakes?

  22. You've got to tell us so that we can all have birthday cakes.

  23. So happy birthday for tomorrow to Andrew.

  24. It's his 30th birthday tomorrow, so that's a milestone too.

  25. So it's awesome. It's good. It's good to be in church, isn't it?

  26. It says in Ephesians 2 verse 19, it says, Now, therefore, you are no longer

    Ephesians 2:19

  27. strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.

  28. We are fellow citizens with the saints, with one another, and members of where? The household of God.

  29. How awesome is that? So let's stand this morning. We're going to celebrate.

  30. We're going to have an awesome service. There's people listening in online again.

  31. And today I've got the microphone sorted out. So for the first half an hour

  32. of the service, they won't be listening to me sing.

  33. They'll be listening to these guys sing, which is a... Did you notice that last

  34. week? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm so sorry.

  35. That's what the volume control's for. Were you trying to tell me,

  36. were you? Turn the microphone.

  37. Very good. Anyway, Lord, we thank you for today. Lord, we thank you that this

  38. will be a service, Lord, that will run so smoothly, Lord, that the technology

  39. will work, Lord, that most of all, Lord God, we will draw near to you.

  40. Lord, we come to church, Lord, to worship you and to give you praise and honour.

  41. Lord, whether we are here in the building or we're listening in somewhere else,

  42. Lord God, we give you honor and praise this morning.

  43. We lift up your name, we bless and magnify the mighty name of Jesus this morning.

  44. When he died, shortly before he died, he said the words, it is finished.

  45. And Lord, we thank you that so much was accomplished with those three words, Lord God.

  46. And we bless you, we honor you, and we welcome you into this place,

  47. Lord, because it is all about you.

  48. And everyone said, amen. And let's worship, everyone.

  49. Music.

  50. Say when there's nothing left to pray it's your spirit that arises within me,

  51. it's deeper than my thoughts it's better than my best of intentions of the cross.

  52. Music.

  53. My whole life sing how I love you,

  54. I love you and my words fall short and I have nothing more let my whole life sing how I love you,

  55. I love you and I love you,

  56. you'll be my heart surrendered Let my whole life sing how I love you, how I love you.

  57. Let my words fall short and I have nothing wrong.

  58. Let my whole life sing how I love you, how I love you.

  59. I love you, we love you.

  60. Oh, we pour it out for you, God, so heaven.

  61. You're so precious, Jesus.

  62. Jesus.

  63. Thank you, Lord. We bless you. Come, Holy Spirit, come fill this place.

  64. You can have all my moments, all my days.

  65. I give you all my worship, Jesus.

  66. You can have all my moments, all my days.

  67. I give you all my worship, Jesus.

  68. You can have all my moments, all my days.

  72. I give him all my worship.

  73. Music.

  74. Thank you, Lord, to say, would you fill this place with Jesus, Lord, God.

  75. Music.

  76. Thank you, Jesus. We worship you. Thank you, God.

  77. Thank you, Lord. Lord, we just thank you for your precious blood that washes over us, God.

  78. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you've paid the price once and for all for us, God.

  79. Thank you, Lord, that we can walk in freedom, Lord. Thank you,

  80. Lord, by your stripes we are healed.

  81. In Jesus' name. And, God, we bring before you this morning those of our members

  82. that are not well, God, Vic and Catherine, Brad, Lord, Sia, God.

  83. We pray for Maureen's family, Lord.

  84. And, Lord, anyone that I've missed, Father, Lord, I just thank you,

  85. Jesus, that you are the healer.

  86. And so, Lord, I pray in Jesus' name

  87. that you would heal them of all their infirmities, right now, right here.

  88. And we declare it done.

  89. Thank you, God, for the finished work of the cross, Lord.

  90. And we bless your name this morning. We bless your holy name, Lord.

  91. Lord, we just worship you, our Redeemer, our Saviour.

  92. Thank you Lord Jesus that you are our

  93. hope and our victory Lord even as

  94. we call out your name Jehovah Lord Jehovah

  95. Nissi who fights our battles Jehovah Rapha who heals our body Jehovah Shalom

  96. you are our peace God thank you we bless your name we call upon your name this

  97. morning the name above every other name.

  98. Lord that at your name every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that you are the Lord.

  99. You are Lord. Jesus name.

  100. Thank you. Thank you Holy Spirit. Worship you.

  101. Thank you Jesus. we bless your name.

  102. Thank you God we worship you yeah young Andrew,

  103. is it okay if we pray for Andrew this morning yeah I just felt to pray for you

  104. this morning is that okay Tim come and yeah I don't know what the Lord wants

  105. to say but I'm going to pray and believe that He'll just speak.

  106. So, Holy Spirit, we just thank You, God, for Andrew.

  107. Lord, that you're raising him up. Yes, you are. Lord, I thank you that it's

  108. no mistake that tomorrow is his birthday, Lord, the first day of September,

  109. God, but that it's spring, the first day of spring.

  110. And so, Lord, I just declare over Andrew a new season, a new season.

  111. Lord, as he enters into that 30th year, Father, we thank you and bless him with

  112. the new season ahead that you have prepared for him, God.

  113. Lord, that he can leave the old behind.

  114. And Lord, I hear you saying from Isaiah, Behold, you are doing a new thing.

  115. The old is gone and the new has come.

  116. Thank you, Lord Jesus. I thank you, Lord, that you open Andrew's eyes to see

  117. who you are. So bless him this day.

  118. Fill him with your Holy Spirit, God.

  119. In Jesus' name, thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord.

  120. Lord, I thank you for the words, Lord, of don't underestimate what God can do for you.

  121. And that's for you, Andrew, but it's for all of us.

  122. Don't underestimate the power, the strength, and the authority of Almighty God

  123. to be able to take control of every situation in our life and turn it around. Thank you, Lord.

  124. And turn it around. Lord, I bless Andrew, Father, that he would be fully aware,

  125. Lord God, of your works in his life, Lord God.

  126. Lord, you see him seeking after you, Lord, striving to be more like you,

  127. which is what we're all called to do, Lord.

  128. But in every area of our life, we're not to underestimate the power that you

  129. can change every situation in our life, every situation.

  130. So I bless you, Andrew, with those words. I bless you, Andrew,

  131. in Jesus' name. Hallelujah. Thank you. Bless you.

  132. Have a seat, everyone.

  133. We have a visitor in church.

  134. Oh, Phoebe. Welcome, Phoebe, the sausage dog.

  135. Phoebe looks a bit overwhelmed.

  136. We should have brought the other sausage dogs. Oh, dear. How is everyone?

  137. Yeah, I'm great, thanks. Last day of winter.

  138. Spring is upon us tomorrow. It's a new season, as I spoke last week.

  139. Well, it is a new season, but not only in the weather, but also in the spiritual.

  140. It's what the Lord is doing in each of your hearts and for us as a church together. So that's good.

  141. This week, we're going to share communion a bit later, but this week announcements,

  142. Wednesday night here at the church, not my house, here at the church,

  143. seven o'clock, we're going to be having a worship, prayer and healing night.

  144. So we hope you can come.

  145. Bring your family, bring anyone that's sick with you.

  146. And we're just going to set aside time to worship the Lord.

  147. We really feel the Lord is doing something and it's when we really put Him first

  148. and worship Him and bless Him, then He can really bless us.

  149. So we hope you can come on Wednesday night, 7 o'clock.

  150. Until half past eight, we won't keep you later. Well, I try not to keep you later.

  151. But we'll just let the Holy Spirit move amongst us then and do what only the Holy Spirit can do.

  152. So that's this Wednesday night at 7 o'clock.

  153. Updates on all our travellers. My gosh, they're everywhere travelling.

  154. So Jean and Peter, they're down somewhere past Miami.

  155. Oh, the Panama Canal. Now they're going down the west coast of South America.

  156. I believe going to Lima, I think. Lima, maybe.

  157. So, Gene and Peter, if you're listening, we miss you. We look forward to welcoming

  158. you back. I think you're back in less than four weeks, four weeks a day.

  159. I think they actually get in for the Sunday, though, but four weeks.

  160. Hasn't that gone slow but fast?

  161. So we'll look forward to hear what the Lord's doing with them.

  162. I know they've been giving out a lot of Bibles to all the crew and passengers

  163. and people and I've sent a lot of pictures, so that's great.

  164. Kelly and Peter, I heard from Kelly.

  165. I'm not really on social media but I use Messenger and I heard back from Kelly.

  166. They're having an amazing time over in Thailand and helping with those little

  167. children and doing lots of other things.

  168. They've been to a worship night. I think they're out looking for a utility van,

  169. truck, car to help with the transport of the children.

  170. So I know if anyone's on your heart that you'd like to donate any money to Voices

  171. of Opportunity, then you can pop it in the offering or donate it to the bank account.

  172. Just put a note for Voices of Opportunity and we'll make sure that that goes

  173. to Kelly and Peter for that. It's a proper charity that's been set up,

  174. and I think they're going to use a new accountant.

  175. They've founded an accountant overseas, a young girl, I think.

  176. So anyway, it's good. God is really using everyone, and it's really good that

  177. everyone's listening to the Lord and doing what we're meant to be doing.

  178. Who else has been out traveling?

  179. Alex, welcome back today. I know you're house-sitting, but it's so good to...

  180. You might not know everybody, Alex.

  181. Or has really been with our church really since we started here and has been

  182. settled in Turalga at the moment.

  183. Welcome back today. I'm glad that you're house sitting in Natai Ponds. A cat.

  184. A cat. So, yeah, welcome today. Any other announcements? Have I missed anyone?

  185. Anyone I didn't pray for?

  186. No. I don't think so. I was just saying my grandchild is, show your tummy, 23.

  187. He's 23 and a half weeks old today, so yeah, we're looking forward to welcoming

  188. him and he can hear us well now.

  189. And little baby, we bless you, my little grandson, we bless you in the name

  190. of Jesus and we thank you, Lord, that you are growing him into perfection,

  191. that he's fearfully and wonderfully made.

  192. And Lord, we bless him this day in Jesus' name. And I just pray that he will

  193. know you all the days of his life, that he will serve you.

  194. I thank you, Lord, that he will be a mighty worshipper like his mother.

  195. And, Lord, I thank you for all the gifts you've already given him in Jesus' name.

  196. Amen. Is he kicking?

  197. Yeah. Well, I'm going to hand over to Tim.

  198. And whilst he's coming up, we'll send around our offering. Johnny,

  199. would you mind doing that?

  200. And, yeah, it's good.

  201. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Jesus.

  202. How's the weather in here? Cold. Cold? Cold.

  203. How's everyone else? Are we all good? Excellent. fantastic yeah.

  204. Andrew, would you pray for the offering, please, mate? Thank you.

  205. Father God in heaven, we thank you for all that you have done for us and all that you give us.

  206. And Lord, out of the willingness and what you have given us in our hearts,

  207. we give to you for your work, Father.

  208. And we ask that you would bless it so that your word can go out in the name of Jesus.

  209. Praise you. Amen. Thank you, mate. Bless you, mate. Thank you.

  210. Very good. All right. I've had a good week preparing my sermon today.

  211. I've learned some new things and I've learned some Greek. Yeah, yeah.

  212. I've learned some Greek. So I'm going to attempt to speak some words in Greek in a little while.

  213. So Johnny, you'll be able to correct me if I get it wrong.

  214. All right. So the title of this message, let me read the title of the message to you.

  215. And then as we progress through, you'll see where I'm going with it.

  216. The title is, Go and Live in the Power of It is Finished.

  217. Go and live in the power of, inverted commas, it is finished.

  218. Because in John 19 and verse 30, we all know that Jesus was on the cross, okay?

  219. And he said these words, and it says this, when Jesus had tasted it, he said, it is finished.

  220. Then he bowed his head and released his spirit.

  221. Now, imagine with me, church, if you can for a moment, the weight of those words, it is finished.

  222. It is finished. In the Greek, in the Greek,

  223. It is one single explosive word, and that word is tetelestai, tetelestai.

  224. How did I go, Andrew?

  225. Oh, no, no, no. That's the Cypriot way of saying it.

  226. I'm saying it, tetelestai, tetelestai.

  227. It's a word that I say to you, and I believe echoes through eternity.

  228. How did I go, Johnny, with that?

  229. Tetelestai. it echoes through all eternity.

  230. And it's a word that speaks of victory and not defeat.

  231. It's a victorious word. And it's not a whisper of surrender either.

  232. It wasn't Jesus on the cross surrendering and saying it was finished.

  233. Rather, it was a shout of triumph.

  234. It was a shout of triumph. This cry was not a sigh of relief from a man at the

  235. end of his strength either.

  236. It was a royal declaration of the King of Kings, proclaiming that the mission

  237. was complete, the debt was paid,

  238. the way was made open for sinners to be reconciled to God.

  239. It is finished. It's the completion of a mission.

  240. It's the completion of that Greek word again, tetelestai.

  241. Apparently, the first bit is te, T-E-H, and that's very, it's soft.

  242. The second bit, T-E-H, again, is a little louder, so tetai and then lestai.

  243. I'm close, aren't I? I'm close. It means these words. It means it's been accomplished.

  244. It's paid in full. It's bought to its intended goal.

  245. So you think of those words when we see Jesus.

  246. In the marketplace, apparently in the ancient world, it was stamped on receipts to declare paid in full.

  247. Paid in full. On the battlefield as well, it was the victory cry,

  248. the mission is accomplished.

  249. Tetelestai. Go on. Say it in my microphone.

  250. Tetelestai. Okay. Tetelestai. There you go. I knew I'd get it right.

  251. So the mission is accomplished. From the very beginning of scriptures...

  252. From the very beginning of scripture, God promised a redeemer.

  253. In Genesis 3.15, in the Amplified Version, it says, and this is actually the

  254. first announcement of the gospel in the Bible.

  255. In Genesis 3.15, it says, And I will put enmity, open hostility,

  256. between you and the woman, and between your seed, the offspring, and her seed.

  257. Seed, and her seed. He shall fatally bruise your head.

  258. This is Jesus. He will fatally bruise your head, and you shall only bruise his heel.

  259. Come on. That verse is the first announcement of the gospel.

  260. This is the first prophecy about the Messiah, who through his death on the cross

  261. and resurrection would ultimately defeat Satan with a death blow.

  262. Come on. Come on. Every prophecy, every sacrifice, every shadow in the Old Testament

  263. is pointed to the moment of Christ's cry of Tetelestai.

  264. It is finished. Means the plan of redemption that began in Eden has reached

  265. its climax at Calvary. It is finished.

  266. The cross is the perfect, complete and final payment for sin.

  267. There is nothing you can add to it and nothing you can take away from it either.

  268. It's the final, perfect, complete payment for sin.

  269. This is so true. So true.

  270. Although it's so true, although many in our day think that salvation is actually

  271. a ladder that we climb, that we must climb, that we must tick or the weight that we must carry.

  272. That Christ's cry of tetelestai demolishes all human striving. Hallelujah.

  273. It is such good news. We cannot add to a finished work. If something is finished, it's finished.

  274. There's nothing we can add to it. It demolishes all human striving.

  275. We cannot add to something that's finished. Does that make sense? Yeah, yeah.

  276. Now, how many of us live as if that work is finished?

  277. It's gone quiet. We try. We try. We strive for acceptance, don't we?

  278. We strive for acceptance. We punish ourselves for sin that's already been forgiven.

  279. But church, the gospel is not try harder.

  280. It's trust fully. That's what the gospel is all about.

  281. Trusting fully. When Jesus said to Taylor Stye, he declared your sin debt cancelled.

  282. Past, present, and future.

  283. All canceled. All finished. Hallelujah.

  284. Tap. Sold. Just like that. Imagine the auctioneer. All finished.

  285. All finished. Sold. Done.

  286. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  287. It's finished. It is finished. And it's finished. It's the fulfillment of prophecy,

  288. as we've spoken about briefly.

  289. In Luke 24, verses 44 to 47, it says, Then he said,

    Luke 24:44–47

  290. When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the

  291. law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.

  292. Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures and he said,

  293. yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise

  294. from the dead on the third day.

  295. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of

  296. his name to all the nations beginning in Jerusalem.

  297. There is forgiveness for sins for all who repent.

  298. The cross was not an accident. It was not an accident. It was a plan.

  299. It was the centerpiece of a masterpiece plan from the God of eternity.

  300. Over 300 prophecies are in the Bible, which foretell the Messiah's suffering,

  301. death, and resurrection.

  302. We know the famous one in Isaiah, where Isaiah wrote of him being pierced,

  303. which is Isaiah 53 verse 5, which says, but he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.

    Isaiah 53:5

  304. He was beaten so we could be whole and he was whipped so that we could be healed.

  305. Psalm 22 describes the very crucifixion scene centuries before the crucifixion even happened.

  306. Read it for yourself. Go and have a read of Psalm 22.

  307. I'd love to read it. It's a long one, but it describes the crucifixion. Have a read.

  308. John Piper wrote this. He wrote, the wisdom of God designed a plan for our salvation

  309. that would magnify his grace forever.

  310. The cross is that plan revealed. The cross is the plan revealed.

  311. When prophecy is fulfilled, it's not just a detail of history it's heaven's

  312. declaration that God sits enthroned above time itself,

  313. Hallelujah. Man makes predictions and guesses, okay?

  314. But God speaks the end from the beginning. He's a great God.

  315. Every prophecy fulfilled is like a divine signature written across the pages

  316. of history, providing beyond doubt that he is sovereign and that his word cannot fail.

  317. When you see prophecy come to pass, you're not just looking at an event.

  318. You are looking at the evidence that God who spoke it is alive,

  319. in control, and faithful to every promise that he's ever made.

  320. That's what prophecy is.

  321. In an age of uncertainty that we live in now, who agrees?

  322. Age of uncertainty, political unrest, yep.

  323. Moral confusion, yep.

  324. Personal suffering, yep. We can anchor ourselves in this truth,

  325. that God keeps his promises.

  326. And you know how I can prove that? The cross. The cross.

  327. God keeps his word. And if he fulfilled every promise in Christ's first coming,

  328. he will keep every promise about his return as well.

  329. Hallelujah. Come soon, Lord Jesus. So it is finished.

  330. It is finished, which can also mean it's the payment for sin.

  331. Payment for sin. Colossians 2 verses 13 and 14 says, You were dead because of

    Colossians 2:13

  332. your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away.

  333. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins.

  334. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.

  335. Say it like it is. Sin is debt. Sin is debt.

  336. In Romans 6.23, it says, for the wages of sin is debt.

  337. But the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

  338. The law speaks of our failure. It's a record of our failure.

  339. But on the cross, Jesus paid it all.

  340. The word tetelestai was written across our spiritual debt ledger, paid in full.

  341. Think of that, all the sin, all the corruption.

  342. We turn to Jesus, all of a sudden the words paid in full are written across

  343. that. Max Liccardo beautifully said The cross is the crowbar God used to pry open the doors of heaven.

  344. Wow. The cross is a crowbar that God used to pry open the doors of heaven.

  345. That means now nothing stands between you and God.

  346. No unpaid debt, no hidden guilt, no lingering shame, if you are in Christ.

  347. Picture a prisoner on death row for me. Not a great picture,

  348. but picture a prisoner on death row. It's a good story, though.

  349. Picture a prisoner on death row The execution hour is approaching,

  350. but suddenly the warden walks in, tearing up the death warrant,

  351. saying, the debt has been paid. You are free to go.

  352. That's the gospel. That is the gospel. But Christ did not just cancel your sentence.

  353. He took your sentence. He took your place. That's Jesus.

  354. That's who we serve. So it is finished.

  355. It's also an invitation to believe. When Jesus was hanging on that cross and

  356. he said it is finished, it's an invitation to believe.

  357. Because John 3 verses 16 and 17 says, For this is how God loved the world.

    John 3:16

  358. He gave his one and only son, that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

  359. God sent his son into the world, not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

  360. The finished work of Jesus demands a response.

  361. The cross does not save everyone automatically. It saves those who repent and believe.

  362. Faith is not believing in spite of evidence. It's obeying in spite of consequence.

  363. Do you want me to say that again?

  364. Faith is not believing in spite of evidence. It's obeying in spite of consequence.

  365. True belief is not passive. It turns from sin.

  366. It embraces Christ and follows him as our Lord and Savior.

  367. True belief does not sit still.

  368. It moves, it surrenders, and it obeys.

  369. Belief without repentance isn't belief at all. It's actually an illusion. We need to repent.

  370. Serving faith is not just a knot of agreement, but it's a life of surrender.

  371. True belief is never passive. It's not just a mental nod to the facts about Jesus.

  372. Real faith produces real change. It turns from sin with repentance.

  373. It runs to Christ with trust and bows to him as Lord with obedience.

  374. That is faith. That is real faith. Anything less is not the faith that saves.

  375. Belief that does not transform is not belief at all. It's deception.

  376. When you truly believe, your life begins to shout louder than your lips. Jesus is Lord.

  377. Jesus is Lord. Amen.

  378. In the 21st century that we live in now, people believe in many saviors. They could be careers.

  379. They could be relationships.

  380. They could be good deeds. It could even be religion itself.

  381. But only one saviour died and rose again.

  382. Only one declared, it is finished. Tatalostai.

  383. Tatalostai. At Calvary, Jesus bore the wrath that you deserved.

  384. He was buried in a borrowed tomb, and on the third day he rose,

  385. proving that the payment was accepted and that death was defeated.

  386. What a God. What a Savior. What a Savior.

  387. Romans 10 verse 9 says, if you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe

    Romans 10:9

  388. in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  389. You will be saved. It is finished.

  390. It also means it's a bridge across a chasm, okay?

  391. I want you to picture this with me. Time to get the picture in your mind with me, okay?

  392. You stand on one side of a great canyon, and on the other side is the presence of God, okay?

  393. Between you and him is a gulf, deep, dark, and uncrossable.

  394. It's the canyon of sin that's standing between you and God. and no matter how

  395. hard you try, you can't get across there. You can't bridge that canyon.

  396. You stack up all your good works, your morality, your religion,

  397. your best intentions, but they all fall short.

  398. The gap is too wide.

  399. But here's the good news of the cross.

  400. Jesus laid himself down as the bridge.

  401. Jesus is the bridge. With nails in his hands and his feet, he stretched himself

  402. between heaven and earth, and with his dying breath, he cried out to Testoli.

  403. It is finished. Debt is paid.

  404. The way is open. The bridge now spans the canyon. and.

  405. But friends, the bridge is no good unless we step on it.

  406. The bridge is no good unless you step onto it. You can admire it.

  407. That's a nice looking bridge.

  408. You can talk about it.

  409. You can even agree that it's the only bridge available.

  410. But unless you walk onto it by faith, you will remain on the wrong side of the

  411. chasm or the canyon, separated from God.

  412. Don't just look at the bridge, step on it and start walking across.

  413. It is finished it is

  414. finished it's the call to live in the

  415. finished work here's my title again go and

  416. live in the power of it is finished it's the call to live in the finished work

  417. Hebrews 12 verses 1 and 2 says therefore since we are surrounded by such a huge

    Hebrews 12:1

  418. crowd of witnesses to the life of faith,

  419. let us strip off every weight that slows us down,

  420. especially the sin that so easily trips us up, and let us run with endurance

  421. the race that God has set before us.

  422. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

  423. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarded its shame,

  424. and now is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne.

  425. The cross is not just the starting point either.

  426. It's the sustaining power for daily life.

  427. That's why I'm asking the question or making the statement this morning,

  428. go and live in the power of it is finished.

  429. It's the sustaining power for daily life. We do not run to earn God's love.

  430. We run because of his love, because of his love, which he's already poured out to us at Calvary.

  431. The cross is not just the ABC of Christian life.

  432. It's the A to Z of Christian life.

  433. It's the beginning right through to the end. The cross is not just the baby

  434. food we move past once we mature.

  435. It's the solid meat that we need to feast on daily. The cross.

  436. The cross. We never get beyond the cross either because everything God gives us flows from the cross.

  437. Our forgiveness, our freedom, our healing, our hope, and our future all comes

  438. from the cross. It is finished.

  439. The deeper you go with Christ, the deeper you go into the meaning and the power of the cross.

  440. The Christian life is not a journey away from the cross, but it's a journey

  441. into the inexhaustible reaches and riches of what Jesus accomplished on the

  442. cross. That's our journey.

  443. The same to telestai that saved you also empowers you to forgive others,

  444. to resist sin, and to live boldly.

  445. Are you carrying any guilt this morning? Christ has already paid for it. It is finished.

  446. Are you striving for approval this morning?

  447. He's already secured it for you. It is finished. lay them down live free go

  448. and tell the world to Taylor Stye it is finished Josh come on up for me,

  449. All right. Is this all right? How good is the cross? Amen. How precious.

  450. It is finished. Tetelestai. Every time I say that, I can see you guys go, oh.

  451. Talk to me later. Talk to me later. All right.

  452. So if you're a believer this morning, if you're a believer, stop living like

  453. the cross was not complete.

  454. Stop living like the cross was incomplete. Rest in Christ's finished work. It is finished.

  455. Forgive freely, serve boldly, and share courageously.

  456. Oh, wow.

  457. If you're seeking this morning or you're undecided, today is the day of salvation, I'm telling you.

  458. Repent and believe. Receive the gift that costs Jesus everything,

  459. but is offered to you freely.

  460. If you've never trusted Jesus as your saviour, this is your moment.

  461. He cried out to Taylor Stye for you. For you. Will you come?

  462. Today, the Lord is inviting you to step onto the bridge.

  463. Turn from sin, embrace Christ and follow him as Lord.

  464. Don't wait for a better time. There's no better time. This is the time.

  465. Don't wait to clean yourself up.

  466. He died to wash you clean. It is finished. Don't wait until you feel ready because he is ready now.

  467. So I ask you, will you step in onto the bridge and cross the chasm by faith this morning?

  468. Will you cross over from death to life, from guilt to forgiveness,

  469. from separation to reconciliation?

  470. If that's your desire this morning, I want you to pray with me right now.

  471. Bow your heads, open your heart and say after me, Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner.

  472. I know I cannot save myself.

  473. Today, I step onto the bridge.

  474. You built out the cross. I turn from my sin, I put my trust in you,

  475. and I receive you as my Lord and Saviour.

  476. Thank you for dying for me, for rising again, and for opening the way to the Father.

  477. From this day on, I will follow you. Amen.

  478. If you prayed that prayer from your heart this morning, you have crossed the

  479. chasm. It's that simple.

  480. The Bible says you have crossed from death to life.

  481. You are no longer on the wrong side of the canyon. You belong to him.

  482. What better time to have communion, eh? Sound good?

  483. Angela and Johnny, would you mind handing out the communion for me?

  484. Thank you. Or Georgia, did you want to?

  485. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord. Let's just keep this atmosphere. Thank you, Lord.

  486. It is finished. It is finished. It is finished.

  487. Hallelujah.

  488. Praise you, Jesus.

  489. Thank you for everything that you accomplish, Lord God, by saying those words, it is finished.

  490. Lord, this morning we declare that we are set free, that we are set free because

  491. of those words, it is finished.

  492. Lord, we are guilt free because of those words, it is finished.

  493. We are healed because of those words, it is finished.

  494. All those listening in this morning, you are healed, it is finished.

  495. Jesus has set you free. Jesus has healed you. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord.

  496. Thank you, Jesus. Yes, Lord. Thank you for the blood.

  497. It does whitewash us clean.

  498. White as snow, the blood of Jesus, the precious blood of Jesus.

  499. Thank you, Lord. So take the emblems in your hands this morning and remember to tell us die.

  500. It is finished. One powerful word meaning it is done.

  501. The debt is paid. We are set free.

  502. It is finished. And we thank you for that, Lord.

  503. Lord, we thank you, Father, that your son, your precious son,

  504. Jesus, laid down his life for us, broke, had his body broken for us.

  505. And Lord, this small piece of bread, this small cracker biscuit,

  506. Lord God, represents the body of Christ that was broken for us.

  507. So go ahead and eat and give thanks and remember that Christ died for you. It is finished.

  508. Piano plays softly.

  509. I love this song, The Precious Blood of Jesus.

  510. What can take away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. There's so many things

  511. that are accomplished by the blood of Jesus.

  512. That's why he was so able to say those words, it is finished.

  513. Because the blood has caused everything to be finished. Our guilt,

  514. our shame, our sickness.

  515. It is finished, Lord. And Lord, we take the juice this morning,

  516. Lord. Lord, a symbol of your blood that was shed for us. And Lord, we are so thankful.

  517. We so appreciate it, Lord God. That's not saying much at all,

  518. but Lord, we lay down our lives for you because of this, Lord God,

  519. because of the blood that was shed for us, Lord.

  520. And we thank you for that. Go ahead and thank him and then drink in Jesus' name. Hallelujah.

  521. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Father. Thank you, Father.

  522. Thank you, Lord. Bless you, Lord. Thank you, Father.

  523. So this week, this week, here's my challenge for you.

  524. Go this week, not striving to

  525. earn God's love, but as those resting in his finished, perfect salvation.

  526. May the words of Christ to Telestai, it is finished, echo in your heart this week.

  527. Let them echo in your heart this week. When the enemy accuses you of something,

  528. let those words echo in your heart.

  529. When doubt whispers in your ear this week, let those words to telestai echo.

  530. In your heart. When sin tempts you this week, let those words echo in your heart. It is finished.

  531. Because the cross speaks louder than words.

  532. Because it is finished, it says. It is finished. It is paid in full.

  533. For each and every one of us this morning. Yeah, come on. Amen,

  534. He's a good God Hallelujah So go this week And live in the power Of the words

  535. It is finished And we'll go now And we'll have some morning tea together We're

  536. going to have a cake for Andrew We got you a cake Andrew As if we wouldn't,

  537. Hallelujah Bless you guys Have a great week Amen.

  538. Music.
