The Power of Oneness In Him!

M a man. You know, we talk a lot about the the death,

burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and sometimes the ascension is included.

Well, it's pretty rare that we actually talk about the coronation when he was

crowned king for what he did, and Pentecost is that day. You know,

we know he was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world,

but the angels didn't even see it. They watched, didn't wonder as he

descended to earth and became a man, and you can just imagine them waiting

for him to be crowned Lord overall and for the song for the first time

to burst out. Worthiest, the lamb, worthiest, the lamb worthiest,

the lamb worthiest, the lamb to be seated above all powers, principalities,

to receive all honor and glory and power and strength forever. And he was

anointed, and that oil flowed down and moved down the train of his robe

and dripped onto his kids, assembled like tongues of fire. And the Father

gave the gift of his Holy Spirit at Jesus's request, and it was the

beginning of the answer of John seventeen. That is what we celebrate the reason

we belong is because Jesus is worthy. We have nothing apart from him um

to celebrate. He gave gifts, and Holy Spirit gave gifts, and God

gave the whole spirit that he would be empowered to become one. If you

have your Bible, open up to John seventeen, verse thirty. My Bible's

making me log in now it locked me out. M Oh, it's probably

on the wrong network. A h oh, sure, I guess I could

put my phone out, John seventeen thirty. Sorry, m twenty. I

have some verses I want to add to the scriptures. It's gonna be a

holy day. Oh, that's funny, this is I'm verse twenty. This

is really When he starts talking about us, he says, I'm praying not

only for these disciples, but also for all who will ever believe in me

through their message. I pray that they will all be one just as just

as just as you and I are one, as you are in me,

father, and I am in you. John seventeen. Is like, you

know, when you study the scriptures, there's you learn harmoneutics and how to

understand context so that you're not misinterpreting a single piece of scripture, out of

the general understanding of that throughout God's word. But John seventeen is kind of

its own thing because there's no other place that you actually get to witness a

conversation between the Godhead, Like, what what do God the Father, God

the Son, and God the Holy Spirit talk about? What have they talked

about for censuries and millennia past when maybe there was nothing else but it was

just them? What do they talk about amongst themselves? There's only really one

place in scripture that we get to take a peek into that, and that

is John seventeen. What what do we see that he praise that we unworthy,

undeserving people would step into the same unity that exists between them, that

we would be one just as they are one. I mean, how do

you really even fathom it? You know, if it wasn't in the Bible,

it we'd be like, that's a massive exaggeration, you know, like

I exaggerate, We exaggerate. Does Jesus exaggerate? No? What was he?

What was he praying for there? How could we possibly be that unified

just as I am in you and you are in me, that we would

be one, that they would be one? Of us that everybody who believes

would be one. It's a perfect oneness. It's a perfect unity. And

he says, and may they be in me so that so that, so

that the world may believe you sent me. What does it mean to step

into a family that's so secure, that there's oneness that you step in and

you're not afraid of separation? What does that look like? You know,

we've all been born into a culture of separation, a culture of divorce,

and if you've been divorced, there's I'm not there's no shame on this,

but this is just what we've grown up into. You know, a child

who has gone through three or four or five parents becomes an adult and gets

married. What's the expectation, you know, like, how much do you

put in when you don't think it's gonna work. How much of your heart

do you make accessible or do you really bring out if if deep down you

just think someday it's gonna it's probably gonna split. I've been a part of

many church splits, churches that just fell apart, and I think probably most

people in here have most people in here have been touched by divorce and the

consequences of it. And again, if you've been if you've gone through that,

oh there's healing. There's just there's healing available if you're still hurting from

it. Okay, But we we tend to expect it, even if we

won't admit it. There's some kind of thing deep down that says, I

don't know if I can put all of me in again. I don't know

that I really want to go that far. And if things get too hard,

I think I'd like to just keep a way out. And I'm not

talking about like like a local congregation. I'm talking about the body all believers.

You know. A thousand years ago, nobody asked the question where do

you go to church? Through? What that's like asking where do you go

to a family? Like, where do I go to this? No?

This is my family, Like this is my family. The people gathering in

that house over there, that's are my family. And the people over there

that's my family. And and no, we're not stepping out and away from

each other. We're not leaving each other. That's not what Jesus prayed for.

He prayed that we would be one. And when he was crowned the

king and his coronation, he gave us the ability to become one. But

you know, in the thousand and fifty four the church experienced its first split,

became the Roman Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox, and then it continued to

split from there. And we think there are all these things called denominations,

but it's just one body. It's still one faith. Jesus prayer will still

be answered. As hard as it might be to imagine it, it's going

to be answered. And I think some of that just I mean, we

can go along ways with this, but some of it today, I really

feel like he wants to come in like a like a master gardener and pull

up some of these roots of disappointment and discouragement and pain and loss from constantly

wondering deep down, sometimes subconsciously and as it am I really safe? Is

it really a family where I belong? Or is it just going to split

up again? Or are or are we just going to go different ways again?

I think when you know, when you have those places in your heart,

you you subconsciously can find yourself sabotaging your experience. Sarah and I were

talking about this yesterday. It's not always easy to see, but you create

this expectation of things. I've been cut loose before, I've not fit before,

I've not had a place before. I I you know, they're going

to get it wrong and and they're going to split up, and who knows

what will happen, and I'll just find another place and I don't know,

So maybe I'll just keep to myself a little more. But those things that

belief that cycle can be healed by the spirit, and I think he wants

to move into our hearts today and just touch those places just so we can

have a bit of restoration of hope again, you know, because there's not

like there's no defined program or formula for creating the unity of the spirit.

But we know that when brother is the sisters dwell together in unity, that

God commands a blessing. I mean he commands it. So it's like,

Okay, come into my heart and I want you to heal these things.

Or I'm scared, or I feel too broken to try anymore, or I

just have bad expectations. I just don't believe that good things are going to

happen in the family. You know, he could come in and heal those

things and then that stink can start to go away, and it's like,

you know what, I can live a little more selflessly now. S Good's

taking care of me, and I can love well, and I can I

could start to move into becoming a real family, choosing humility, choosing to

stay when I want to run. God, we need your grace. You

know, none of us, none of us have the strength on our own.

This is why I said, Hey, the anniversary of Pentecost is such

a beautiful reminder because you didn't have to send Holy Spirit, and you didn't

have to give gifts that would work together to bring us into unity. But

you did, and you made grace perpetually available that we could come to you

for it when we needed it. So if you would just close your eyes

right now, Holy Spirit, I ask you to come and move on our

hearts right now like a master gardener, that you would touch the places of

deep disappointment and discouragement, and you would just begin to pull those roots out,

just grab them and pull them completely out of our heart, the places

that we've closed off, in the areas that we've we've not wanted to make

accessible again because of those things. Would you come in and pull out bitter

roots, would you pull out the seeds of fear that have taken place in

our hearts. Would you come and heal those open, empty spaces that we're

that we've been afraid to touch or to let people into. Holy Spirit,

Would you give us a grace, supernatural grace to come into unity as a

family, the way that Jesus prayed. Only only you can do it,

working in us, And so we're just asking for you to work in us

to do it. Father, we give you the disappointment, we give you

the fear, We give you the distance we've kept. We give you open

hands, We give you the painful memories, the weeks and months and years

and decades that feel lost. We give them to you. We give them

to you. We let go. We can't hold on anymore. And we

ask you to come in and fill those places and heal them and bring a

fresh outpouring of hope and grace, and that, by your grace, we

would enter into a greater unity by your spirit, by your spirit, by

what you do, by your supernatural movement. Did you bring your your church,

your bride into greater unity? And when someone meets you for the first

time, when they come into the family, it's like, oh, this

is this is where I'm always supposed to be you, I'm I'm loved here,

I'm secure here, this is my family. Could you tear down everything

that keeps us from calling each other their family from the heart. Oh,

we're gonna we're gonna take communion together now and kind of just make a declaration

before the heavens and the earth. You know, this was said so many

times, but communion was the centerpiece of It was the centerpiece of all the

gatherings for the early Church. If there was a room that they gathered in,

it was literally in the middle of the room, and it was the

thing they would take together and they would celebrate and they would remember it's Jesus

and what he did, and they would choose to let go of all the

bitterness and the judgment they had against each other. They would choose to forgive.

And it was even so serious that was like you can't, like,

you can't come to the table if you're not going to forgive, Like,

this is what it is to be family. Family forgives. This is what

it is to be family. Family, lets go of the grudges and the

bitterness. But not only that you do this, you take part in a

supernatural life. You receive what you need, and I receive what I need.

And together with the unique gifts God's given us and the love He's put

in our hearts, we're gonna build together. We're gonna grow together, and

we're gonna love each other. And this is gonna be a safe place.

And when the world sees us, and when they step into our presence,

they're going to want to be a part of the family. That's our declaration

today. When we take communion today, that's our declaration. We're a family.

Everyone who believes is our family, and we're gonna have their back,

and we're gonna serve. We're gonna get low. Worthy is the lab the

highest, who got the lowest so we can get low. He didn't choose

to be humble. He is humility. We are being transformed in his image.

Does everybody have one? If you raise your hand, if you don't

have one yet, Okay, Today, as we take this, we're remembering

Jesus's heart, what he did to bring us together, to make us a

family, to bring in the orphans. And if we're honest, we've all

been orphans. Only you are this good, Jesus. We'd love you.

We thank you, We remember what you did, and we receive your race

and your healing, your freedom, and we just bring our hearts and our

whole beings into agreement with your desires. We want to be one as you

and the Father are one. Thank you for giving us your holy spirit to

make it possible. So we just take this step now together, we take

the bread and the wine. We receive your healing. We forgive each other

where we need to forgive. We let go of bitterness, our own rights

to put the rights and the needs of others ahead of our own. We

love you, we celebrate you. You are worthy, You are worthy,

You are worthy, you are worthy. Worthies Mmm. Worthy is the lamb?

Worthy, ust the lamb? You guys can take it. Man h

ah h Aba. Do you guys know that was the most common name that

was used in the early Church for God. If you read any of the

first hand accounts, you'll find they constantly just referred to him as Abba pop.

This is the father of our family, Baba. Thank you for doing

what you do. Jesus reveals you and showed the world just how great you

are. Thank you for being here with us today, for bringing us into

a place we get to worship you, to worship Jesus. That is so

sweet, such a gift. Your presences are good. We celebrate today and

we thank you for what you're doing. And we just asked that right now

you would seal the work you've done in our hearts today, the healing that's

taken place and m and if anything comes up, that you would mercifully continue

to deal with those things and bring healing. We love you, amen,
