You're listening to the Cross Kingdom Sermon of the Week, we hope you enjoy
-
this message from Justin Carpenter. So, if y'all remember last week I said
-
next week was Josh. In the week after that was Brian, I don't
-
know what week I'm in, apparently, because there's five weeks this month,
-
next week is Josh. So you all got to put up with me one
-
more time? Wow, without honor in my own house. Actually I'm excited
-
about this, so um oh yes, thank you, Sarah. So the
-
marriage Wednesday night marriage class, there's no class next winter this coming Wednesday night
-
because Sean and Sarah will be out of town. It will resist the week
-
after. If your marriage is broke, start coming. If your marriage is
-
good, you should come get it, get it better, get an upgrade.
-
The Kendricks have an anointing for either making it or breaking it. So
-
yeah, that was a joke, people. I have my doctorate's degree and
-
dad jokes, so you're just gonna have to deal with it. And my
-
neck did loosen up some after two hours of drumming this morning, so I
-
may I may be turning a little bit that way, but I'll be all
-
right. So um. Back in probably twenty eleven, we were living in
-
Houston, and for all of you that have lived in Houston before, I
-
just want to say the best part of Houston was actually seeing it in my
-
rear view mirror with my U haul truck coming back to Kerville. Amen.
-
And but no, during that time, it was it was a sweet season.
-
We had just left Denver and we were battling to figure out where we're
-
supposed to go. And one Saturday morning in my prayer time, the Lord
-
told me the answer was easy, and he said, let Lisa choose.
-
This season's not about you. That's what he said very clearly to me.
-
And being the humble man that I am, I came out of the came
-
out of the bedroom and I go, Lisa. I got the answer,
-
and I said, she's like, really, what is it? I said,
-
you choose. I don't want to choose Ah. The Lord said,
-
the season's not about me. So we ended up in Houston, and so
-
I was a stay at home dad for about a year and a half in
-
Houston, and it was actually one of the sweetest times with the Lord in
-
my life. Micah was a baby nappened two and a half hours a day.
-
That's not why I'm crying. It was it was actually it was actually
-
my time with the Lord. And who yeah, I just got away a
-
stepping in it not even knowing it. Sometimes you know, and I'm telling
-
you, it's always this spot right here there. There's just like a little
-
shoot here or something, and um. But one day I was on my
-
couch or in my chair spending time with the Lord, and all of a
-
sudden, the candlestick from the tabernacle appeared in front of me, literally,
-
and I was not real brave in that moment. I was definitely the fear
-
of the Lord. And it started to move towards me and kept moving towards
-
me. By this point, I'm definitely have the fear of the Lord and
-
the candlestick and parted into my chest. Then the first thing I said was
-
Jesus, please tell me that was you. And that was good. And
-
then I was like, okay, well what was that about? I didn't
-
I mean, I knew what the candlestick was, the seven spirits of God.
-
You know, you get the service, but what is this invitation about?
-
And I think because we don't really stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit a
-
lot of times we miss a lot of invitations from him. We don't slow
-
down long enough to really get the fullness of the revelation that he wants to
-
release. And so I was sitting there and asking the Lord, and he
-
didn't say a whole lot. About two weeks later, I'm at a Texas
-
Ablaze conference and Keith Miller, for those of you that know who he is.
-
In Texas Ablaze, Keith had a book on the Seven Spirits of God,
-
and the Holy Spirit said, this is what that's about. And it
-
was my invitation to really begin to dive deep on the seven spirits of God.
-
Now I know y'all are already confused with Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
-
and all of a sudden, I say, now the Holy Spirit's sevenfold
-
expression just push, but I want to spit. We're gonna We're going to
-
build a foundation, and specifically, I'm want to talk about the fear of
-
the Lord, which is one of the seven spirits. The Church does not
-
have the fear of the Lord. Most of it does not, and I
-
think it's brutally, brutally obvious over the last few years with exposures and the
-
things that are happening, and hopefully by the end of this two and a
-
half hour teaching, we'll be able to you are listening, we'll be able
-
to explain the difference between fear, because first John says that he didn't give
-
us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind,
-
versus the fear of the Lord, which the fear of the Lord is
-
what we need in the church. There'd be a whole lot less, the
-
Lord says, and we would have purified words if we feared the Lord,
-
because we would actually stand in the council of the Lord and carry the word
-
of the Lord a whole lot more consistently, and we would have an awe
-
and reverence of the Lord when we claim to be speaking on his behalf.
-
Right. That was good, yep, I'm just talking to my angel.
-
Thank you, Wanda. We're keeping you in the front rowe. So John
-
fifteen fourteen says, you are my friends if you do what I command you.
-
Let me say it again, you are my friends if you do what
-
I command you. Fear of the Lord or fear God has actually mentioned three
-
hundred times in scripture. Do you think the subject's important? You think we
-
need a government that fears God? Oh? I could go someplace with that,
-
I'll be good. But the Hebrew word is your a. It means
-
a fear. Fearing the Lord means to be in reverent awe of his holiness,
-
to give him complete reverence, and to honor him as the God of
-
great glory, majesty, purity, and power. I was recently, y'all
-
know who John Bavie is, right, John Bavere's got a book on the
-
awe of God or the fear of the Lord, And I was watching this
-
little snippet of him with sid Roth. You know, it's supernatural. I'm
-
gonna rabbit trail real quick. When I was in Houston, I had an
-
encounter with an angel and it was a visitation. I was completely out of
-
my body and the angel looked identical to sid Roth, and that I'm not
-
kidding now, this is where God broke my religious spirit. And I realized
-
the Holy Spirit has a sense of humor, because after this encounter was over
-
and I boom popped up back in my body and looked at the scripture he
-
gave me and you know, tested the encounter and everything. I was like,
-
Lord, why in the world did that angel look like sid Roth?
-
And I kid you not. This is what I heard. It's supernatural,
-
And I like that broke something in me. Like from a religious standpoint,
-
I was like, the Lord just made it funny. All right? Now?
-
Where was I? Oh? John Bavier, and y'all remember Jim Baker,
-
right, there's two Jim Bakers by the way today. Both of them
-
are good. The original Jim Baker got restored and he's doing great. But
-
he went to he went to prison for male fraud and some different things,
-
and he ended up serving like five years. John Bavier went to him and
-
was talking with him and had about ninety minutes with him. This was years
-
ago when he was still locked up, and and he said. John asked
-
him, he goes, when did you stop loving Jesus? And Jim Baker
-
said I didn't, And Bavier gets I love Bavier man. He gets fired
-
up and he's like, no, no, I don't think you're hearing me.
-
Nineteen eighty three, you committed adulter. I mean, he's blah blah
-
blah blah blap going off on this thing. He goes, when did you
-
stop loving Jesus? And he says, John, I never stopped loving Jesus.
-
He goes I didn't fear him, and it was the issue of the
-
fear of the Lord. Now again, Jesus said, if you loved me,
-
you'll obey my commandments. And we live in a church culture today where
-
easy believism, once saved, always saved. Is you know a lot of
-
times where you know, I don't want to go off to too far on
-
that, but people come down, they say a prayer, and not everybody
-
gets converted because many of them end up trusting in the prayer and not Jesus.
-
I did the same thing coming up, growing up as Baptist, and
-
thought I was fine because I'd said a prayer, and then all of a
-
sudden, years later, the conviction of the Holy Spirit hit me of my
-
sin and I actually repented and gave my life to Jesus. And I've told
-
you this before. The sinner's prayer is not in the Bible. Y'all know
-
that the center. Yet now now all of y'all are like SE's saying,
-
you don't need to accept Jesus. No, I didn't say that. What
-
I'm saying is the actual prayer that we do is our custom. Jesus's version
-
was a little bit different. You're welcome. So Extodus twenty five, you
-
shall make a lamp stand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of
-
hammered work. It's base, it stems, its cups, it's callouses or
-
calloux's. I literally just heard that word and messed it up. And it's
-
flowers should be one piece with it, and there will be six branches going
-
out of its sides. Three branches of the lamp stand out of one side
-
of it, and three branches of lamp stand out of the other side of
-
it. So you see this single hammered piece of gold with three branches on
-
each side, seven lights total, which represents the spirit of the seven spirits
-
of God. The next time I preach in a probably three weeks or so,
-
I'm going a segue from here into the seven spirits of God. Okay,
-
so that you should show up. But Exodus twenty five thirty one to
-
forty is where he goes into detail and he and he keeps repeating this,
-
and he says, and see that you make them after the pattern for them
-
which is being shown you on the mountain. So remember Moses, he was
-
on the mountain, went into the mountain, and then he's being shown all
-
these different patterns in detail on the tabernacle. Who was with us when John
-
came and did the Tabernacle conference and went through piece by piece by piece.
-
Yeah. So Isaiah eleven says, there shall come forth a shoot from the
-
stump of Jesse, and a branch from its roots shall bear fruit, And
-
the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
-
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge, and
-
the fear of the Lord. There's your seven spirits. Are you with me?
-
And it says, and his delight shall be in the fear of the
-
Lord. He shall not judge by his eyes what as I see, or
-
decide disputes by what his ears here. But with righteousness he shall judge the
-
poor and decide with equity for the meek of the earth. And he shall
-
strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of
-
his lips he shall kill the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of his
-
waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins. So this is describing Jesus,
-
and that the fullness of the seven spirits of God is going to rest
-
upon him and actually be manifested in his life, and you can see this
-
sevenfold expression of the Holy Spirit on his life. You, every one of
-
you are supposed to be manifesting the seventh spirits of God in your life.
-
Did you know that every one of you should be manifesting the seventh Spirit of
-
God in your life. If the Holy Spirit is inside of you, that
-
means the sevenfold expression of Him is inside of you. That means that the
-
fear of the Lord is actually inside of you. It's interesting. So many
-
times, No, you cannot have WiFi. So many times in scripture it
-
shows up if you have an Apple phone of you're wondering, whoever just clicked
-
I'm watching you said, repeat that right, the seventh spirits one more time
-
for the slower ones. I'm just playing. It says, there shall come
-
forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots
-
shall bear fruit. The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him. Think
-
of the candlestick, the center, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the
-
spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge, and the fear of
-
the Lord. Now it's interesting if you actually take Isaiah eleven and the seven
-
Spirits of God and line it up with Revelation four. With the rainbow,
-
you actually begin to get real definition and understanding too that God is light,
-
and you begin to understand what those spirits are read, Wisdom, purple,
-
fear of the Lord. It has nothing to do with LGBT. It has
-
everything to do with the seven spirits of God, first and foremost, and
-
then it has everything to do with His covenant that he made with this earth.
-
The bow will be in the sky. And I'm telling you Church,
-
if you're afraid to talk about what I just talked about, you will be
-
silenced. You'll be in the closet. We need to speak truth and love,
-
but stop tolerating and have a backbone. You're welcome. Matthew six nine.
-
Now watch this. Here's the disciples. They're with Jesus right, and
-
they said, Lord, teach us to pray, teach us to pray.
-
What does he start out with in the Lord's prayer? Matthew six nine,
-
pray then like this our father in heaven hollowed be your name. He says,
-
you want to pray, and you want to pray, right. The
-
first thing you need to do is actually have the fear of the Lord.
-
You need to hollow his name. Now, how do you know if you
-
have the fear of the Lord, Well, if you're in habitual sin,
-
because all of us fall short, right, And if you say you don't,
-
I'll talk to your spouse. We all fall short. But the reality
-
is, if you're in habitual sin and you think the Lord is winking at
-
that rebellion, you do not have the fear of the Lord. Isaiah thirty
-
three six says this, and he will be the security and stability of your
-
himes. Who wants some stability in these crazy times? I mean, y'all,
-
we're three D printing meat in a lab and selling it like we have
-
all. I just want real steak, you know what I'm saying. I'm
-
a ribby guy. I don't want ribby being printed out of a machine.
-
I want that, all right, the meat of the word and the meat.
-
You know what I'm saying. It says a treasure of salvation, wisdom,
-
and knowledge. The fear of the Lord is your treasure. The fear
-
of the Lord is your treasure. Where your treasure is there, your heart
-
will be Also. What are you treasure? Because what you treasure, you're
-
actually going to steward what you treasure. You're actually going to sew into what
-
you treasure, You're gonna have it grow. So where's your treasure? It
-
should start there. Proverbs one seven says the fear of the Lord is the
-
beginning of knowledge. Fools despise wisdom and instruct You know, there's a proverb.
-
I think it's Proverb twenty nine, which I don't think I put it
-
in there. I'm now, okay, give me one sec I'm almost positive
-
it's Proverbs twenty nine one. It says he who has often reproved yet stiffens
-
his neck will suddenly be broken beyond healing. That is a scripture that should
-
bring the fear of the Lord in your life. If you think you determine
-
when you're going to come to the Lord, come close to him, and
-
when you're not going to be close to him, and you're in control of
-
this thing, you better watch out, because I'm gonna tell you something.
-
As God begins to move in more intense ways and pours out his spirit and
-
we actually get back to everybody's talking about going past the Book of Acts,
-
I'd love just to get back there first. And when you're there, guess
-
what the theme of Acts was. It was the fear of the Lord.
-
People start dropping dead in the midst of a meeting, and I'm pretty sure
-
the fear of the Lord's going to be there. You lie to the holy
-
But what happened there, it was the intensity of his presence. What you
-
got away within the outer court kills you in the Holy of holies. And
-
so he wants to purify his bride because as he comes closer, his judgment
-
is swifter because of his glory. Do you catch that? I don't know
-
if I can repeat that Proverbs two one to six. Then they will call
-
upon me. I'm sorry, Proverbs one twenty eight to thirty one. Then
-
they will call upon me, but I will not answer. They will seek
-
me diligently, but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did
-
not choose the fear of the Lord, would have none of my counsel,
-
despised all of my reproof. Therefore they ate the fruit of their way and
-
have their fill of their own devices. Remember I always say, if you
-
don't like your harvest, change your seed. If you sow to the flesh
-
of the flesh, you reap corruption. If you sow to the spirit of
-
the spiritual read life. If you're not reaping life, then look at the
-
siege you're sewing. Says God will not be mocked. Whatever a man sows,
-
that also showy reap. You want to reap life, then start with
-
the fear of the Lord, my son, if you received my words and
-
treasure up my commandments with you, making your ir attentive to wisdom and inclining
-
your heart to understanding. If you call out for insight and raise your voice
-
or understanding, if you seek it like silver in search for it is hidden
-
treasures. You know it's hard to teach when he's on you. Then you'll
-
understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the
-
Lord gives wisdom from his mouth. Come knowledge and understanding. Y'all, we've
-
all fallen short in this area. With the fear of the Lord, we
-
wouldn't be so full of ourselves that Greek the Greek word crapola. Yeah,
-
we wouldn't be so full of that if we really had humility and the fear
-
of the Lord. Thank you. Psalm's thirty four eleven says, come,
-
old children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the
-
Lord. The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the
-
wicked would be short. Proverbs ten twenty seven says, don't let your heart
-
envy centners, but continue in the fear of the Lord all day. Better
-
is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with
-
it. Whatever you do to get wealth, you have to maintain that.
-
Whatever you do to get promotion, you have to maintain that. Whatever you
-
do in your life to get to where you're going, you must maintain that.
-
And if you're striving and performing and working out of your flesh, you're
-
going to have to continue to work out of your flesh to stay in that
-
place. But the fear of the Lord will bring promotion, because the fear
-
of the Lord will bring the favor of the Lord. And the favor of
-
the Lord is way better than your sweat Proverbs fourteen twenty six. And the
-
fear of the Lord one strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.
-
Let me repeat that, in the fear of the Lord, one has
-
strong confidence, and his children will have refuge. Let me tell you some
-
of them. I am so thankful. My two boys are not your typical
-
peak kids. And I take that as a massive blessing, a massive blessing.
-
We had been careful from the time we went into ministry to not force
-
stuff on them, to not make them perform certain ways, because we feared
-
what you thought. We don't. I mean that humbly. I don't fear
-
you. If I feared you, I wouldn't preach and teach the way I
-
teach. I would tickle your ears. You know. It's like Todd White
-
said, I came to cut you. I want to cut you with the
-
word because it brings healing, it brings restoration, It brings what it brings
-
transformation, which then you actually have fruit that stays, fruit that remains.
-
I'm in this thing for the fruit that remains. I don't want spoiled fruit.
-
And I didn't come into ministry to become a millionaire, that's for sure.
-
Now watch this Psalms nineteen nine. The fear of the Lord is clean,
-
enduring forever. The rules of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
-
What is the fear of the Lord. It is clean. If you have
-
struggled coming out of sexual abuse or or things that have brought defilement on your
-
life, the fear of the Lord is clean. The fear of the Lord
-
brings cleanness. That means that spirit of defilement cannot stay in the presence of
-
the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of
-
wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. So what is
-
how do you get wisdom? Can you have wisdom without the fear of the
-
Lord? Worldly wisdom? The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life
-
that one may turn away from the snares of death. Yeah, we're not,
-
by the way, we're not going through all three hundred fear of the
-
Lord and fear of God's scripture reverences this morning. But I want to paint
-
a picture of what the fear of the Lord is because it's rarely talked about
-
in the Church, and it is absolutely going to be at the forefront as
-
we get closer to these end days, whether they're one hundred years away,
-
two hundred years, or whatever it is, when as He gets closer,
-
we're living in the fulfillment of Joel. Right now, you understand it's not
-
fulfilled. Joel. I will pour out my spirit on all flesh is being
-
fulfilled right now. It's not done because if you keep reading, it says,
-
until he comes, until He returns, that's when it's fulfilled. So
-
we're living in this dispensation of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all flesh,
-
nonbelievers and believers. That's why I tell you all the time. Dream
-
interpretation is one of the best evangelism tools because God's pouring out his spirit on
-
lost people and they have dreams and they've had visions where God has shown them
-
what he created them for and all they need. They don't need psychics around
-
them. They actually need a prophetic company that knows these ways. Are you
-
with me? I am next year? Dreams and Visions Proverbs in nineteen twenty
-
three The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests
-
satisfied he will not be visited by harm. Proverb says that when we're living
-
right, when we have the fear of the Lord, he makes even our
-
enemies to be at peace with us. That means if you came out of
-
a crazy life with lots of chaos and lots of fighting, the moment you
-
surrender your life and give it to Jesus and have the fear of the Lord,
-
then what happens all of a sudden, he brings peace into your life.
-
You begin to taste and see that He really is good, and you
-
recognize that it's the goodness of God that draws us to repentance. Lord fall
-
I asked that this morning we would experience the fear of the Lord Jesus,
-
that we would experience the fear of the Lord this morning, that we would
-
not leave this place without tasting and getting an upgrade and the awe and reverence
-
of who you are, your majesty, your power, your glory, your
-
love. By steadfast love and faithfulness, iniquities atoned for, and by the
-
fear of the Lord, one turns away from evil. We just had an
-
altar call earlier, and y'all, y'all were up here, and there's and
-
everybody's got a different story. There's no telling how long some of you were
-
battling with things that you're crying out to the Lord to deliver you of.
-
I want to remind you it's only a battle because your flesh doesn't want to
-
let go whatever you're battling. You need to understand the deception as you actually
-
believe it's helping you. There's your agreement so say Jesus, exchange whatever it
-
is you're battling, it doesn't matter. Give me the fear of the Lord
-
instead, because that will give you the ability to actually repent and turn away
-
from evil. The fear of the Lord is love what he loves, and
-
hate what he hates. He doesn't hate people, he hates sin. And
-
we only lost one one person here a little while ago from my comment,
-
so I'm not doing too bad, my heart. More than having a big,
-
brand new church is that you are big believers, that you're actually champions
-
of the faith, that you're not going to coward in the days ahead as
-
it gets turbulent, because make no mistake about it, y'all, turbulent times
-
are in front of us. There's storms brewing, and storms are coming.
-
And you can't be a weak, need spineless believer. Is this is time
-
for David's mighty men of God. And guess what when they first showed up
-
to David, they didn't look too mighty. All those who were distressed and
-
bittered and in debt that all surrounded him hallelujah. But look at look at
-
the description of those men afterwards. I'm gonna tell you right now, without
-
a shadow of a doubt. If you'd feel called to be here, it's
-
because God says you're a champion. Because God gave me that scripture with David
-
and his mighty men years ago, when I was doing intercessory whining about shepherding.
-
It was like, what are you doing to me? And literally clear
-
as day he quotes Samuel twenty two two, and I go to it.
-
I'm like, oh, okay, Lord, that was an encouragement, not
-
way too quiet, way too quiet. And he charged them, thus you
-
shall do in the fear of the Lord, in faithfulness with your whole heart.
-
The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil, pride and arrogance,
-
the way of evil and perverted speech. I hate Proverbs eight thirteen again Job
-
twenty eight. And he said, and he said, to man, behold
-
the fear of the Lord. That is wisdom, and to turn away from
-
evil is understanding. So without repentance, you actually don't have understanding. Without
-
the fear of the Lord, you don't have wisdom. And then you can't
-
say you have understanding if it's not actually applied fruit. There's repentance that takes
-
place. Does that make sense? The fear of the Lord is the beginning
-
of wisdom. All those who practice it have a good understanding. Proverbs actually
-
talks about stupid people. You know how I always joke around. I say,
-
I talk about a spirit of stupid? Who was it that? Yeah?
-
She didn't here is he? Well? I was teaching my keys to
-
the Kingdom course, which is interhaling and deliverance. And and Christia goes,
-
I have a question in one of the classes. She goes, is there
-
really a spirit of stupid? Because I had said it so much? Now
-
there is a spirit of stupor, which you know, it's not too far
-
a stretch. And before anybody gets arrogant or offended, we've all had moments
-
where we've come under the influence of the spirit is stupid. See, we're
-
all in the same boat. I'm doing really good with not doing too many
-
crazy jokes today. Bid I hadn't offended anybody yet, right, Okay,
-
Well, there's not more hands up, so I gotta keep going. Oh
-
I did call you slow, didn't I? Yeah? Haven't you know?
-
I was joking. You're like, this is my first time here. Moving
-
on second chronicle seventeen ten, And the fear of the Lord fell upon all
-
the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, and they made no war
-
against Josah Fat. Do you understand the fear of the Lord was on the
-
prophet that it was. The fear of the Lord was on the prophets of
-
old. When prophets in the Old Covenant came to town, the fear of
-
the Lord was there. They knew it's it's yeah, did you come for
-
peace or did you come for judgment? And they knew whatever that prophet said,
-
it would come to pass. I can tell you there's very few prophetic
-
guys today that I think really carry the fear of the Lord. Hear my
-
heart. I'm not saying they're not prophets, but like really carry the fear
-
of the Lord. I know when I met John Paul and I looked into
-
his eyes and froze up for ten minutes, bent halfway over, crying like
-
a baby and couldn't move. I was like, I walked away. True
-
story and Diane I shared it with her, his widow, a few couple
-
months ago or so at lunch, and she just started busting up Lavin.
-
But here's what I knew. I knew that he was real. I knew
-
the encounters that he had talked about that it was legit, that he wasn't
-
full of fluff, that he wasn't being evangelastic stretching things. And I walked
-
away all messed up because I said, Lord, I want to carry you
-
like that. I want to walk into a room and the room shifts because
-
your presence is on me that heavy, and I know I'm not there yet,
-
but I desire to walk like that. We should all desire to walk
-
that way. The presence of God is what changes things. It's not us,
-
it's not our skill set. He's not impressed with your gift. He
-
gave it to you. Some of y'all need to hear that, because I've
-
met some people they think they're really special because they were given a gift from
-
God, as if somehow He's like, Wow, that's impressive. I can't
-
believe that. Where did that come from? Therefore, knowing the fear of
-
the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God,
-
and I hope it is known also to your conscience. Secondchrithians five eleven.
-
Now, then let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be
-
careful what you do, for there's no injustice with the Lord, our God,
-
our partiality, or taking bribes second Chronicles nineteen seven. I want to
-
encourage y'all. You know, we we look at the political atmosphere today and
-
we and we see just the corruption and politics, and it's on both sides.
-
Don't think it's not. It is absolutely on both sides. And we
-
look at the bribes, and y'all, y'all realize, three days ago California
-
shot down a bill to make child trafficking a felony, a greater felony with
-
a greater penalty. They shot it down. They said no. And the
-
last days you will call evil good and good evil. This is the garbage
-
that we're up against. And make no mistake, you're not fighting and gets
-
flesh and blood. You're dealing with a divine counsel. You're dealing with fallen
-
ones in that council. You're dealing with fallen principalities and powers, rulers,
-
dominions and thrones. You're you're dealing with all of this crazy battle. We
-
have to stand up as the church and protect these children. We know guys
-
personally that rescue kids out of trafficking, and one guy that we're friends with
-
said you have twenty four hours on average, right, and then they're slamming
-
sound of freedom. They're trying to rolling stop. I made the post rolling
-
stones. The media is nothing but a propaganda machine. If you think you're
-
getting truth through the media, you might as well go talk to Satan.
-
And don't think Fox News hadn't jacked up too. That was free All right?
-
Sorry, I'm done. Proverbs twenty two four. The reward for humility
-
and the fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life. Remember the
-
disciples, they're in front of Jesus, they're complaining, They're going, Lord,
-
we gave up houses, we gave up mothers and children, and we
-
gave up all these things. And you know, Peter, Peter should give
-
all of us hope. I love Peter has no filter. I kind of
-
relate sometimes with that. And he's like, Lord, what about us?
-
He says, what about us? And he says, you'll have all of
-
these things in this life and the life to come with persecutions. I have
-
a question for you, what if because we don't have the fear of the
-
Lord in our life, the way we need to the glory of the Lord
-
is not resting on your life to the degree that actually demands persecution, so
-
hence there's not much persecution. You want to grow an authority, growing the
-
fear of the Lord, get closer to him, because that's what increases authority.
-
I want to walk into a room and there's not a demon safe in
-
that room. They're scared to death because of the authority I'm walking in now.
-
I get growled at from time to time, like whatever, weird things
-
happen often. But think about this, y'all, it's upgrade time. It
-
is upgrade time. Um. When John Thomas was here, one of the
-
things he prophesied over Leasa some years ago was that she would help bring Cross
-
Kingdom into the Promised Land. And Lisa, the Lord just brought that word
-
back up to her as we were sitting on the twenty five acres praying,
-
because that that is our promised land and we and she had no grid for
-
that at the time. And that's y'all have to understand. When you get
-
a prophetic or you may not have any grid for it. The first time
-
I had got a prophetic word that I would plan a church, I was
-
like, that, ain't Jesus. And for six years. I was like
-
that, ain't Jesus? Then my flesh died number six, so I'm thirty
-
four nine. Oh, fear the Lord. You his saints, for those
-
who fear Him have no lack. Isn't it interesting how provision finances prosperity tied
-
to the fear of the Lord. If you don't give, you don't fear
-
God. If you don't give, you don't fear God, because that's part
-
of it. You don't have a lifestyle of generosity in him. And you
-
give when he says give, you don't fear God. You're eating your seed
-
and you wonder why you're broke. And that's not the old Jim Baker prosperity
-
stuff. Just to make that clear, it's the Bible. The Angel of
-
the Lord encamps around those who fear him and delivers them. Serve the Lord
-
with fear and rejoice with trembling. What's it saying. It says, work
-
out your salvation with fear and trembling. It's not an unhealthy fear. It's
-
not a fear of punishment, because perfect love drives out all fear, for
-
fear has to do with punishment or torment. God's not into tormenting us.
-
He wants us to step into this play in place of awe and reverence and
-
be overwhelmed and consumed by his awesomeness. That is the fear of the Lord,
-
and that is a much greater motivator than fear. Did you know he
-
didn't He didn't save you with fear of death. It says, it's his
-
goodness Now I know, Jude says, by some snatching them out if if
-
need be. But fear is not his preference. It's coming into a place
-
where you get totally done by his love and his goodness. And you realized
-
he never stopped pursuing you when when you were all screwed up, while you
-
were yet sinners, Christ died for you. There we go freedom and come
-
out. Um. But then but then think about this, So it's the
-
goodness of God that drew you to repentance. What should really blow your mind
-
is the fact that his love never changed even after you came to know him,
-
because all of a sudden you actually became aware of how jacked up you
-
were and how far away you were from completion of truly looking like Jesus.
-
And He's like, though your sin be a scarlet, who I'm almost done
-
Psal fourteen. The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him.
-
Jesus said, I no longer call you servants, but I call you friends.
-
And he makes known to them his covenant who wants an upgrade in the
-
revelation of the new Covenant that we're in with Jesus. But you shall fear
-
the Lord, your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand
-
of all your enemies. I love this one, Isaiah eight thirteen. But
-
the Lord of hosts him. You show honor as holy. Let him be
-
your fear, and let him be your dread. I think it's Bobby Connor
-
that wrote a book Dread Champions. Yeah, real champions have the fear of
-
the Lord. Champions warriors of the Lord. They fear the Lord. Remember
-
the arc and it was it um you're Riah reached out his arm Uza.
-
Yeah, it'll lose Audie here in a second, and so he grabs it.
-
He gets struck dead, and it says that David feared the Lord that
-
day. Remember, He's like, what in the world? And they he
-
sends the ark off to obed Edam. What happens the moment the ark,
-
the presence of the Lord shows up there. They begin to prosper people.
-
It is not spiritual to be broke. Last Monday, I'm gonna land it.
-
Last Monday, I was at the office because I had a filing cabinet
-
I had to put together. It was being delivered and I was there and
-
I went to the mailbox to check the mail and I look across the street.
-
You know, our offices are up there by the co America, and
-
there's this lady. Strangest thing in the world. There was this lady at
-
the end of the parking lot at the bank. No one goes to that
-
bank, like, like hardly anybody goes to that bank. And this lady
-
standing there with a cardboard sign just like this and a sun hat, not
-
moving an inch. I mean, she doesn't move. She's like a statue.
-
And I get hit with this un I mean, I was like,
-
man, there's something. I looked up because I felt the demonic and I
-
looked over there. She's frozen, locked in on me, and I can't
-
I can't see what the sign says. And I walk all the way up
-
to the doors. I'm looking across the field. Never moves. I get
-
inside all of our glass and doors or you can't see inside it's mirrored.
-
And I'm looking at this and I'm like, and somebody drives by, they
-
pay no attention. I'm like, they see her, right Lord, And
-
so it hit my heart and I said, I asked that you would remove
-
the spirit of poverty and the gypsy spirit out of here now in Jesus name.
-
But it's interesting that spirit of poverty was standing right there at the bank
-
and I literally walked away for two seconds to check for creamer for my coffee
-
because you know, I have coffee, and I literally come back and she
-
never had time to leave that I would have saw. I mean, it
-
wasn't long enough, and she was gone. And when we had our restaurant
-
in Ingram, we were in an owner's meeting and that same spirit actually came
-
into the restaurant, the spirit of poverty, and walked right by us.
-
Chay, where's Chay, She's not here this morning? Chay felt it,
-
and that thing walked so close to me. I lit up in the hair
-
would up on my neck. And you're not battling flesh and blood, y'all,
-
and you're not just fighting for you don't be like Hezekiah and says,
-
oh, well, at least we'll have peace in our day, and forget
-
about your children. We're here to leave a legacy. This isn't just about
-
today. This is about leaving a spiritual legacy and inheritance for your children.
-
Okay, I'm landing right now Philippians two twelve to thirteen, last scripture.
-
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not
-
only as in my presence, but much more in my absence, work out
-
your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in
-
you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. When you
-
say, oh, I can't do this, I don't have the ability,
-
You're right. You have the right to remain dead. You know what the
-
hardest thing is to real we don't have a right, and that is probably
-
one of the slowest things to die inside of me my rights. Everybody's looking
-
at least going uh huh. I yeah. I had a moment a couple
-
of days ago because I'm learning to die on a new level, and I
-
yelled at my brother and ex sister in law because they were in my house
-
when I came home and It triggered me just telling how myself, because guess
-
what If I keep everything into the light, then he has nothing on me.
-
And I don't care if you look less at me, because Jesus made
-
himself of no reputation, so I have no business having one. So I
-
literally had to repent, and I heard my mother in law pop up.
-
I didn't even see her in the den, MEMI where you at? There's
-
in the back ed. I literally had text MEMI, please forgive me.
-
I didn't know you're in there, texts my ex sister in law, Please
-
forgive me. That was wrong. I just feel like I don't have enough
-
of my own time and space at times. I texted my brother who's over
-
there in the other corner and h and asked him to forgive me. So
-
I see, we all have a spirit of stupid that comes on you every
-
once in a while. But thank God, they forgave me. Right,
-
I mean the half too. If they want to live, they don't have
-
a choice. If you gotta and if I offend you, guess what you
-
gotta forgive me too, because it says if you don't forgive, you're not
-
forgiven. So I tell people only forgive to the degree you want to be
-
forgiven. It's that easy, all right. The prayer team will come up
-
Wayne, if I can get you on the keys, bring me a beat.
-
You got to meet Pa, so we don't have it. Ike's got
-
something super inspired. He wants to share real quick. Can you hear me?
-
Can you hear me? Okay, real quick? Okay. So about
-
twenty something years ago, my wife and I were down in South Texas and
-
I was in a meeting with a pastor and there was a woman in the
-
church that was in sin. She was living with this guy. Everybody,
-
I mean, the whole community knew she was in the church, but everybody
-
knew what she was doing, and so she was living with this guy,
-
and I mean, it was a it was a big issue. And I
-
will tell you her name because you can look this up on the internet and
-
it's not going to make a difference. She's in the state penitentiary now.
-
But let me tell you. We called her in and we talked to her
-
and we said, look, Sheila, you can't do this. This is
-
ungodly and God will not tolerate this stuff. She had no fear of God,
-
none whatsoever. And the pastor literally asked her, when all this goes
-
to hell, what are you going to do about it? And she said,
-
I'll take care of it. I'll do it. I can do it.
-
And he said, you don't understand. God will not tolerate this kind
-
of behavior. You can't do this. What are you going to do?
-
She said, don't worry about it. I'll take care of it. She
-
walked out of the office. That was I want to say, on a
-
Wednesday or a Thursday, anyway, on Monday morning, she didn't show up
-
to work. Her son mysteriously. They never could tell what had gone on.
-
Her son mysteriously died. He was eighteen, seventeen, eighteen years old.
-
Okay, so then and it was like wow, this was I mean,
-
that brought fear into every heart in the church because the church was literally
-
praying for her as a whole. Then she got involved with two guys in
-
the community, ended up beating an old woman, an elderly woman, and
-
literally she was caught and now she's in the state penitentiary. You don't fool
-
And I know everybody talks about grace, grace, grace, and you know,
-
God, God will allow, God will allow, Yes, God will
-
allow. But I will tell you this. Okay, don't play games with
-
God knowingly, you'd had better fear the Lord. So fear is a very
-
real thing of who God is because the power of God is a mighty thing.
-
Yeah, stop sinning. Um oh, Jonathan, can you turn his
-
keyboard on? Sir? Does anyone have the iPad? Will you turn the
-
keyboard on? The back? I think I guess Jonathan left. He got
-
tired of running sound, he's out of here. Maybe I offended two people
-
today, So I want to do something because earlier, before they did the
-
altar call, I really felt like there was an anointing specifically for deliverance.
-
There are some things you have to die to right that means you they're they're
-
there. There's passions of the flesh that you just simply need to crucify.
-
There's things that you need your soul healed from, which is inner healing.
-
But then there's things that you actually need delivered from because you have a demon
-
on you. And I specifically felt during worship that there thank you buy that
-
there was a grace for deliverance. And the problem is when you have familiar
-
spirits, you think it's you you're dealing with. When you're not. You
-
think it's your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions, and it's actually
-
spirits that have worked their way into your personality since you were little. They're
-
called ancestral demons. And I really do believe that as we ask the Lord
-
for an impartation of the fear of the Lord, that deliverance is going to
-
come. And so I just want to encourage you as Wayne's playing the piano.
-
And here's how you know the difference between your flesh and a spirit.
-
It's the magnification of that motion, you understand me. So when you have
-
fits of anger or rage come over you and you literally feel like you're trapped
-
inside of your body, that's because that's a spirit of anger and rage you're
-
dealing with. It's not just you. If you get overwhelmed with lust and
-
you feel like there's no way out and you have no control over it,
-
that's because you've been given over to a sexual spirit and you need deliverance of
-
it. When you have extreme, crazy amounts of fear or panic attacks,
-
you're dealing with a spirit. Because God did not give you a spirit of
-
fear, and we don't rest soul against flesh and blood. That means that
-
there's contact with the unseen realm, whether you recognize it or not, and
-
you end up partnering with them through deception because you believe they're actually helping you
-
and they're empowering you. And I really believe the Lord wants to break some
-
things as we finish, so I just want to encourage you all to come
-
forward as finish up. We got prayer teams here and and get some freedom.
-
So Father, I just asked, right now, Lord, thank you
-
for listening. For more messages and other resources, please subscribe to this podcast.
