The Resurrection!

M h. You're listening to the Cross Kingdom Sermon of the Week. We

helped you enjoy this message from Justin Carpenter m fort and first service, I

was I was telling everybody we were talking about, you know, raising your

kids up in the ways of the Lord. And uh I, by the

very grace of God, Lisa and I have two boys that are not your

typical p K kids. And uh, I don't know that either one of

us did a whole lot to get that blessing because I know I was a

little hell young growing up. And uh but Micah came to me yes or

yesterday m hm, and he goes, Dad, how do you pray?

Because he wanted to strengthen his prayer life and he wanted who wanted to know

if there was any things that I did with my prayer life that would help

him. And y'all, there's never been a greater time where we've been in

a fatherless generation. I mean, this is that right now is the most

fatherless generation. And part of Melachi with the hearts of the fathers returning back

to the sons and the sons returning back to the fathers is because Kingdom is

family. You understand, that kingdom is family. So from a physical manifestate

for the enemy to hit the earth, he's going to hit the family.

Because God created family. It says he took a Melachi says he took a

portion of his spirit and placed it in the marriage and for the purpose of

godly offspring. He calls his angels his sons, and one day in this

life to come, part of our inheritance is we're going to join that divine

Council and we're going to rule and reign with them. Do you understand that

this earth is it's in very much a place of practice. You, your

stewardship, your faithfulness is what's actually setting you up for the life to come.

If this was all we had and there wasn't an inheritance in the resurrection

to come, you wouldn't have Hebrews wouldn't have been written where it says people

refuse to be released so they might obtain to a better resurrection. Now today,

in the American Church, we don't always hold on when things get tough.

In fact, we have a tendency to where our emotions on our sleeves

and easily get offended with each other and want to pack up our legos and

go home. And yet there was something after Pentecost that super glued the body

of Christ together. At this time every year, people always have questions like

where the heck did Easter come from? And how in the world this year

is Easter? Like three weeks away from Passover? Anybody wondered that, like,

why is this year? Why are we so far away from Passover?

Hold on to your breeches. So it comes to no surprise that the early

Christian Church developed many traditions and celebrations to commemorate this event of that first Easter

morning, even though the first historical mention of the word Easter as an annual

event did not occur into the late second century. There's evidence from the New

Testament that the early Apostles shifted their Sabbath from the seventh day to the first

day of the week to commemorate the Resurrection on a weekly basis. So if

that was like the epicenter of what they were celebrating weekly, fast forward twenty

twenty four years later, and we're doing it once a year and then we

Oh help me, Jesus, I'm about to rip some political butt And sorry,

I'm trying to be good and then we have leaders that are making laws

to totally try to bury this day. If you don't start opening your mouths

and get a spiritual backbone, don't complain that the culture is going to hell

if you refuse to be light and salt, if you're afraid of a little

persecution, because I have news for you, this is nothing compared to the

days ahead, nothing in the aspect of His glory, and nothing compared with

persecution. I know it's not popular, y'all, but persecution is coming to

this land, and we need to be ready to have the backbone and love

not our lives, even unto death. Whenever that day comes, or however

intense it comes. There's barely been any moves of God without persecution. It's

like the counterbalances of justice and the class of the kingdoms of good and evil.

Y'all. There should be a love coming out of this body of Christ

that is an evangelistic message in and of itself. We should be loving each

other, taking care of each other, and have a unity that cannot be

broken, where we lean into each other in the midst of conflict. Because

when I read this, and and I read how they would go to the

temple daily and pray and go to their homes daily and break bread. There

was this intensity of God's love that I think we're lacking. We hear a

whole lot about God's love, but the ultimate display of that first century love

we have to recover. That love is what took Peter from literally denying Jesus

three times to refusing to be crucified the way his lord was because he was

not worthy to die the same death. So the tradition says that he was

crucified upside down. Stephen when he was martyred, that says his face radiated

like an angel. The Moravians would sell themselves into slavery, and as they're

sailing off, never knowing if they're going to see that family again, they

would say, may the lamb receive the reward of his suffering. I want

to see us get back to the place where Jesus is literally the first thing

we think of when we wake up and the last thing we think of when

we go to sleep, because it's that type of spiritual hunger for righteousness and

holiness that's going to change a nation. I can't even see both John and

Luke knowe that Rice the Followers met together on the first day of the week.

John twenty verse nineteen, Acts twenty verse seven, John twenty verse twenty

six. Luke also adds that the disciples were there to break bread. The

reason for the abrupt shift seemed to be that miraculous resurrection. You understand that

when he resurrected from the dead, he wasn't the only one walking around.

He brought some friends with him. And for forty days, there's Aunt Sue,

there's Uncle Bill. Do you understand that all of these people in Jerusalem

for forty days saw dead people resurrected walking around for forty days. There's no

way you can deny the resurrection. I still marvel when it says in John

that it's to our benefit that Jesus went back to the Father, because here

he was in the flesh, walking with the disciples, fulfilling scripture after scripture

after scripture, and he's right there. John would lay up against his bosom,

it said. John didn't call himself the intergalactic, apostolic, prophetic world

leader. He called himself the disciple whom Jesus loved. He let the anointing

and the calling on his life say who he was. He didn't need to.

And then all of a sudden, there's Jesus saying, it's to your

benefit that I leave. So what is it that we've not unwrapped with the

Holy Spirit this side of the cross, this side of Pentecost? You know,

forty days after the eclipse Pentecost, we're going to celebrate Pentecost. You

know. One of the tensions with the whole trying to figure out you know,

Resurrection, Easter and so on and so forth, is the priests would

go outside and they would look at the moon to determine whether or not they

could declare the feast. And it was a lunar calendar, which that's God's

calendar. We're on a Gregorian calendar, which his sun. And so you

have all this argument of what day. You know that we don't know for

sure what day he died, the exact date. We know that because of

passover and resurrecting on the first day of the week. He resurrected on Sunday.

But there's a big tension. Can we can we be okay with celebrating

resurrection today? Can we be okay if if if they saw that it was

important enough to actually do it weekly? Do we have permission to actually celebrate

his resurrection weekly. You understand, without without the Resurrection, we're all lost

and dead in our sins. There is no hope for a life to come

without the resurrection. And the very most important role that the Holy Spirit's going

to do in your very life is He's going to raise your dead body from

the grave. I'm still trying to recover from three hours of drums. Each

Sabbath Day for those earliest Christians was either a commemoration or a reflection of that

miracle. Early Christian apologist Justin Martyr hopefully not Tomorrow and Tortillian corroborate the celebration

of Easter every Sunday, and the Christian congregations of the second century. Eventually,

these weekly commemorations appear to have been held into one annual Easter celebration.

Early church father Iranius documented this annual celebration as he wrote against the dogmatic position

of Bishop Victor of Rome, who demanded that Easter be affixed to only one

day. Iranius favored a date that coincided with the Jewish Passover. That fallout

from that exchange confirms that by AD one sixty, the Christian community had adopted

a single annual celebration. The Christian community, however, was far from united

concerning the date of Easter, and I don't know how united we are today

twenty twenty four years later. But that is a little background of Jesus's resurrection.

You know, we our hope is not in an Easter bunny. It's

it's not in Easter egg hunts. It's in the Son of God. You

know, it's interesting that, you know, when he did the satyr dinner

for the Passover right before he was betrayed that night, think about this.

You know we always hear deception is deceiving, right, What do you think

was going on through Judas's mind when he knew he was gonna betray him.

I guarantee you Judas was deceived and believing he was going to do something good.

Probably more than likely, he probably thought that he would push Jesus into

setting up his kingdom earthly, because remember, their hope was that Jesus with

the Messiahs showed up. He was going to show up and stop a mud

hole in the Roman Empire. That's Greek for mud. And all of a

sudden, he starts talking about this kingdom that is internal, that's inside and

not external. And all of a sudden, he's telling these people that you

got to take up your cross and deny yourself to actually enter into this kingdom.

You have to allow this kingdom to overtake you internally so that it can

flow through you to overtake others. And over and over and over he's talking

about this kingdom, and they had to be they had to be a little

bit confused when he died. We know they were scared to death because they're

all in the upper room and the door's locked. Well, at this point,

Jesus doesn't really need doors, so he just comes in, Hi,

guys, and they were terrified. But something changed, y'all. There's something

that changed because all of these disciples, one hundred and twenty of them tearying

in the upper room for a promise, something changed drastically with them when the

baptism of the Holy Spirit came. It's better that I leave so the promised

one can come. Why what is it that we have not connected with today,

with the role of the Holy Spirit that has us living a life way

under what he's called us to way under. An about y'all, wo'll be

really cool to walk by somebody and they get healed by my shadow. I

mean, I've got a wide shadow, you know what I'm saying. Not

tall, but it's wider and give them a little more room. But God

was, He was manifest his glory, his authority, his power. You

know, even in the Old Covenant, in the days of old, when

the prophet showed up, they carried such fear of the Lord. Israel carried

the fear of the Lord when they would show up. Nations would tremble when

they showed up because they knew the God of Israel were with them. When's

the last time you met someone that walked in such authority and power because of

the fear of the Lord on their life that you were like, man,

I hope he doesn't say anything to me. They've been very few and far

between in recent decades. There's a handful of people. I meant that I

was like, man, they walk in authority, you understand. It's that

authority that Jesus walked in when he'd gone to the temple. All the demons

would freak out. I always loved telling y'all you understand. The third of

Jesus's ministry was casting out demons. So WHI is in a thirty years?

Could it be that we've gotten so intellectually secular humanism smart that we explain away

the supernatural biblical view and we tell people, oh, that's not a demon,

it's an emotion. Oh that's ignore that growling in the eyes turning black.

That has nothing to do with anything supernatural. Y'all. There's an invitation

for us to embrace the fear of the Lord in this hour because we are

in a time of mountaintop exposures, and it's a loving father that's drawn a

line in the sand and saying enough is enough. It's time to come back.

When we have a life that we pursue righteousness. Blest are those who

hunger and thirst for righteousness. They'll be filled when we have a life that

pursues righteousness. Holiness is a byproduct, and holiness is not the end game.

It's actually intimacy, the depth of intimacy that we get when we're in

that place of holiness. No, all, right, now, I always

feel very I just want to tell y'all something. Don't ever say anything about

manifestations because I said I would never have any, and I would. I

would Minister under the anointing with dignity. I think the Lord said, hey,

send that angel and just hit him right in the side. And and

the truth is, it's kind of Lauren Sandford's fault. Lauren prayed for me

over there some years ago before he passed, and I hit the ground from

the power of God. And a couple of days later, is Becky here

Bowen? She was, She's I think she's out there, Becky. We're

in session. I'm doing a per ministry session and this lady had this stabbing

pain in her back, and I'm praying, and all of a sudden,

I did what I just did, right, But I went oh, and

I went oh no. And the person I'm praying over they were as confused

as I was. And and they go, that is so weird. When

you made that weird noise, that stabbing pain flew right out of my back.

So I've learned not to well. Number one, say never. Number

two prejudge manifestations. Tom. When I was asking the Lord about you when

I was in worship playing and what came to my heart. I know you're

in real estate because we've talked a little bit, and I know you've done

music in the past. But I saw houses going up into musical notes,

and I believe that there's a forerunner calling on your life in this out or

you have not been shelfed. You have not missed anything, and you're gonna

You're gonna reintroduce a generation of people to the anointing that you walked in in

the past. And then there's gonna be a transition from the anointing that you

walked in in the past to an upgrade anointing that will be released, and

you're gonna be headed into a sage legacy. It's time to call the prophetic

eagles back. No mm hmm, somebody hold me up for something. I

hope, I hope that's some confirmation and resonates with you. Oh man,

who y'all? Okay, Yeah, I'm living the dream Galatians four four.

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his son born

of a woman, born under the law. I've said this before, but

we always when we read that scripture in the fullness of time, we always

think that it was like this mega outpouring that Israel was going through, and

it was like the Lord shows up and it's just this amazing time and the

truth is was in the fullness of time. It was very dark. The

word of the Lord was very rare. In fact, it was so rare

that there was about a four hundred year period of silence. Think about it,

some of y' all that are revelatory in nature, you get all tied

up when you go a week without feeling like you had a dream or a

vision or something. And they went four hundred years and John the Baptist shows

up and starts preparing the way of the Lord. He is the spirit of

Elijah to come. And Jesus called him the greatest prophet, and he had

no personal prophecy. So why is it today fast forward in the New Covenant,

that every time we see somebody have a gift of prophecy, oh,

they must be a prophet. Well, John the Baptist was the greatest prophet

and never had personal prophecy. Wow, why do we judge based off of

that? See, this part of this season of exposure and pruning and purifying

is so that we can be in a place where when God falls with his

glory, we actually have the fear of the Lord in our lives and we

can we can carry what He's calling us to carry in this hour because without

the fear of the Lord and the glory comes, you're dead. The High

Priest would what you could get away with in the outer court would kill you.

In the Holy of Holies, they would tie the rope and the bell

around the high priest. And the day of Yam Kapoor, he goes in,

and he better make sure he's covered, because if he goes in and

he's not clean, guess what, the bell stops ringing. And they were

smart enough to tie a rope around his butt so they could pull him out

and out go in there and die too. See David, they made the

mistake. They didn't understand how to handle God's glory. And so he reaches

out, not David, but what's his name reaches out and to sturdy the

ark and boom. And David was afraid of the Lord that day. See

it says, my people perish for lack of knowledge. If you hadn't figured

it out yet, the enemy does not care what you know, what you

don't know. He does not care even if you believe that he can do

what he does. Through legalism says a curse can't fall about a right.

The enemy's a legalist see, we think we can live a life full of

unforgiveness towards others, and we're going to be fined. And that's not how

it works. Hebrews says, be careful, don't let any root of binners

spring up in you thereby defiling many, which means your unforgiveness doesn't just defile

you, it defiles all your relationships around you. The very heart of interhealing

ministry, it lays on the foundation of repentance and forgiveness. If you could

just get people to come into your office, and there was nothing else you

could do but get them into a place of total forgiveness with everyone around their

lives, it would radically transform them. An forgiveness becomes effortless when you actually

get the lie based thinking out of your heart Ephesians one seven to eleven.

In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses,

according to the riches of his grace which he lavished upon us, and all

wisdom and insight, making known to us the mystery of his will, according

to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the

fullness of time, to reunite all things in him. Things in heaven,

things on earth, and him. We have obtained an inheritance, having been

predestined according to the purpose of the Him who works all things according to the

counsel of his will. He is the second atom Jesus. When he would

teach, they marveled because it specifically said that he actually taught as someone with

authority, not like the scribes and the Pharisees. Think about that for a

moment. He actually taught with authority. We'll go back to Isaiah eleven.

What was the key of that? One of the keys it says in his

delight will be in the fear of the Lord. We've been on this theme,

which I don't think we're going to be getting off of very soon,

with the fear of the Lord and all the leadership and the elders. We've

been reading The Awe of God by John Bevie, and just like it's I

feel like we don't have an option. We've got to get this, y'all.

We've got to get it. I don't mean out of a legalism place.

I'm talking out of a place of if you truly want to love God

with all your heart's soul and strength, and you want to love others.

The fear of the Lord is not optional if we want to actually see his

glory, if we actually want to see the greater things, we got to

get back to the things he was doing. I'd be happy if we could

just get back to acts as a starter. So the question this morning,

by us not having God's priorities, how's it affected you? How has it

affected you? What is it that needs to change in your life? Then

it can be as easy aster just realigning the affections of your heart Luke twelve

thirty four. For where your treasure is there, your heart will be Also

what has the affections of your heart this morning? Is it the Kingdom?

Is it him? Is it recognizing the hour that we're in? Because Israel

missed their visitation, Jesus wept. He said, how I long to gather

you like a hen with its chicks, but you have not. They didn't

have discernment, they missed their visitation. In fact, it says they never

would have crucified the Lord of Glory had they known it was him. So

what are we missing? What needs to be brought back into alignment so that

we can live a life that is worthy of the reward of his suffering,

Wayne, if I can get you to come on the keys, we're we're

going to set up for communion here in a minute, or as they're setting

up, so if you're helping with communion, if I could get y'all to

do that. You know, so many times when Passover was observed throughout scripture,

and specifically the times when Passover was reinstituted, like with Hezekiah and other

times where Israel literally had just fallen away from observing the feasts, something miraculous

would happen. They were healed every time God would hear their prayers and they

were literally physically healed. You have to understand when Israel left, they had

been in slavery for four hundred years. Y'all think about that, four hundred

years of slavery. They were malnourished, they were weak, they were feeble,

they were diseased. And guess what happened when they observed the very first

Passover. None were weak or feeble when they left reward. I mean,

fire always falls on sacrifice, and we're supposed to be living sacrifices pleasing and

acceptable to the Lord. I want to challenge you this Resurrection day. Don't

quit don't give up. First service. Nancy Lapointe was in the front row.

She had prayed for ten years for her prayer language, for ten years.

And I'm sorry what I say, Nancy, and Nalie sorry, thank

you? I thought I said that, and Nali And she'd prayed for ten

years for a prayer language, and she was listening to teaching on the Fear

of the Lord by jam fear, and she got her prayer language. She

wasn't asking for it. No one laid hands on her, no one prayed

for her, and boom, God just hit her. Y'all, if you've

been praying for ten years, or fifteen years or twenty years, don't quit.

Don't give up, keep persevering, keep believing, don't quit. If

y'all want to come forward for communion, the folks are y'all coming, Okay,

cool? Sure? Two in the front, two in the back.

Jesus said, I have food that you don't know of, and the disciples

go, who brought him food? Did Peter bring him food? Who brought

him food? He multiplies the bread. They have twelve baskets left over.

These twelve guys don't realize it's about them. So we're gonna make this.

Do you have anybody that can go upstairs as well? Or no? Okay?

So okay, we're gonna make this super simple. We have communion in

the back, we have communion in the front. We're gonna start on this

side, and y'all in fact, right now, y'all can come up,

and then we're gonna split this in half and go both ways, and then

that section, but the front half of the room come forward, back half

go back. Is that clear as mud? Okay, we're trying to be

organized here. So if you're towards the back, we have people with bread

and wine in the back. And then if y'all would grab your piece of

bread and hold on to it, we're and then once everybody's received bread and

the wine will partake. M hm. Yes, and it is not it's

great juice, y'all. For those of you that it's only grape juice business.

M If you all can hold on to your bread, if you already

ate it, you're forgiven. It's okay. I thought I said to hold

on to it? Did I not even my wife ate the bread? How

long shall I tarry? You are? I'm gonna get one for all right?

Everybody? Lying back up. For I received from the Lord what I

also delivered to you. That the Lord Jesus, on the night when he

was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke

it and said, this is my body, which is for you. Do

this and remembrance of me. And in the same way he also took the

cup after supper, saying, this cup is the new covenant in my blood.

Do this as often as you drink it in remembrance of me. Y'all,

they were breaking bread, they were observing this every week. They were

observing the resurrection. They were observing his death, burial and resurrection every week.

We have full permission to do it weekly, to observe communion weekly.

It was a part of their love feasts. It wasn't hate feasts. It

was love feast, y'all. And so Lord, I just I thank you

Jesus for being obedient all the way. Lord, at any moment, at

any moment, you could have said you're not worth it, they're not worth

But instead you've set your head like flint, and you said, for the

joy set before you, you endured the sufferings of the cross. So Lord,

we remember this bread, which is your body. We remember the wine

which is your blood of the New Covenant, Lord, and we look forward

to the day that we get to do this with you and the life to

come. We do this in the remembrance of you, Lord, until your

return and your name named Ben. You have the if the prayers prayer teams

could come forward, Father, I asked Lord, as we have observed killed.
