Lee for the first time and she I mean for the very first time both
-
services. So if y'all want to put your hands together for Lisa. Okay,
-
so y'all extend your hands towards her, you would, Now, I've
-
never gotten that response. That's okay, babe. It keeps me humble.
-
So Lord, I just thank you for your word. Father. I thank
-
you for first service's message. And Lord, I just thank you for peace.
-
I thank you for strength of her voice. And Lord, just once
-
again, I asked that you would just flow through her holy spirit, that
-
she would be the clothes that you wear. Lord, just Gideon, and
-
I thank you for my wife, my family, or the gifts that you've
-
put inside of her. And I thank you for the honor and the privilege
-
of running in the kingdom with her. In Jesus' name and menn Wow,
-
okay, Oh, I don't know why I feel a little bit more nervous
-
this service. I don't know. There's more faces, more people, But
-
I just want to say that I am really, actually thankful and grateful to
-
be here today. This is not something I ever wanted to do. I'm
-
just going to share that with you right now. But I want to be
-
obedient to the Lord, and he's been putting a message on my heart.
-
But yeah, having a platform is not anything I've ever desired to have.
-
But because I love the Lord, i am here. And so as I
-
was preparing for this message, actually probably months and months ago, I was
-
like, Okay, Lord, if you really want me to speak, how
-
do I do this? This is not something that I'm very comfortable with.
-
And he just said, speak to them as if you were speaking to your
-
boys, as a mother with a mother's heart, and I was like that
-
simple, like, can I really speak to you all? Come to you
-
today as a mother. I love my children so incredibly much and I love
-
y'all as well, and so I'm coming here today as a mother with a
-
message on my heart that the Lord's been speaking to me about. So the
-
Lord speaks to me in seasons. I don't know about each of you seasons
-
of life. And this last season that Justin and I went through with ministry
-
was really difficult. I know a lot of you just see us on Sunday
-
morning and we're happy and life looks great, but behind the scenes, it's
-
not always easy. And I love you all, but sometimes dealing with your
-
stuff is not easy. I'm just gonna tell you right now, and please
-
do not take offits to that. Okay, We're all going through things and
-
so in this season, yeah, Anthony, so yeah, So this season
-
has been a struggle for me. And I was like, Lord, what
-
are you saying to me? And He's been talking to me about the renewing
-
of my mind. The last song Lion of Judah is like, how do
-
you want to how do we get the valleys to raise up in the mountains
-
to come down. It's through the renewing of your mind. It's through your
-
perspective, It's through how you see life challenges. And so the Lord has
-
been speaking to me about that in my challenges in life. And one day
-
I was driving down this road and Justin loves to call it intercessory whining,
-
and so that's exactly what I was doing. I was like, Lord,
-
why are we dealing with this difficult situation? And these people are hurting me
-
and you know, all this stuff, and like all this turmoil was going
-
on in my heart. And so as I'm praying slash whining to the Lord,
-
I hear him say in my spirit. So when the Lord speaks to
-
me and my spirit, I hear him here? Does that make sense?
-
I don't necessarily hear him up here? So this is what I get this
-
download. He says, you can't move forward into this new season keeping your
-
old ways of thinking. Those roots have to be dug up. You can't
-
go into this new season with the fear Man. And I was like,
-
wait a second. So as I was driving, whining, praying, the
-
Lord brought to memory the new land, the new land. Some of you
-
are guests here and you might not know that, but the church has been
-
blessed with twenty five acres so that we can go from this, we can
-
build a campus. And we are just so humbled and grateful for what the
-
Lord is doing. And on this new land there was about one hundred and
-
fifty beautiful oak trees that got diseased and had to be chopped down, which
-
was really heartbreaking. But I love to go out there and I love to
-
walk the land. I love to pray and thank the Lord for the land
-
that He's given us. And so one day I was out there and there's
-
this huge I mean, some of these trees were massive, and so I
-
just did because they were all chopped down, just straight flat with the ground.
-
So I'm standing on a stump looking down and I'm like, huh interesting,
-
Like I felt like a little tree. And the Lord was like,
-
those have to go. Those roots have to go the land. You can't
-
build on the land over roots. And so that's what he was showing me
-
when he was saying, you can't go into this new season with the old
-
mindset, the old way of thinking. I was like, okay, interesting.
-
So I went out there probably a few weeks after that, and the
-
land is being cleared. All of those one hundred and fifty roots had to
-
be dug out, and so I went out there and some of these roots
-
that they pulled out, I mean are massive. They're full of dirt and
-
rocks. I mean they're gnarly roots, and they left massive holes in the
-
ground. And so the Lord was showing me my old way of thinking,
-
my mindsets that are not rooted in him, to be dug out. And
-
it was painful, and it made me have to look deep inside my stuff,
-
my yuck, and look at what is it that I'm holding on too.
-
So that painful season, that painful situation, I was like, what
-
is it. That's when he said it's the fear of man. See.
-
In a healthy Lisa, I love people. I mean I really love people,
-
even difficult people. I really love you. But in an unhealthy Lisa
-
becomes a people pleaser because why because I don't want to disappoint you. I
-
don't want to let you down. But what I do, what we all
-
might Doccasionally we pit ourselves the face that we don't belong. It's not my
-
job to please all of you. It's not Justin's job, it's not Anthony's
-
job, Wayne's job. So in an unhealthy place, I start focusing on
-
what if I don't do this and so and so gets upset with me?
-
Or did I greet everyone at church? Oh? No, I miss someone,
-
they're a visitor. Maybe they're going to be offended. DC do any
-
of y'all recognize this in your own self? So that was a challenge.
-
I was going through this, and I was realizing I wasn't focused on the
-
Lord. I was focused on this situation. And so the Lord said,
-
Nope, this is painful, but you've got to uproot this old way of
-
thinking. We're going to start working on the renewing of your mind. And
-
I'm telling you it was not easy, Justin and I spent a lot of
-
evenings crying, frustrated, all all kinds of stuff. And so so this
-
is interesting because you know, I didn't really know that all of those roots
-
out at the land had to be uprooted. And they're like, oh,
-
yeah, because if you build a road over it, if you build anything
-
over it, that those trees could spring up again. And I was like,
-
okay, interesting, and I was thinking about my heart again. Why
-
the Lord said that these old, these roots, these old ways of thinking
-
had to be dug out. This is what he showed me. It's job
-
fourteen seven through nine. So for there is a hope for a tree,
-
if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its
-
shoots will not cease, though its roots grow old in the earth and it's
-
die in the soil, yet at the scent of water, it will bud
-
and put out branches like a young plant. Now this passage is talking about
-
the hope and the Lord, but the Lord was also showing me. At
-
the hint of me thinking oh uh, oh, did I hurt Susan's feelings
-
or Justin's feelings, I would go back that root that was to the ground
-
in my heart. I could go back at the thought, the scent of
-
maybe I didn't please someone, that old way of thinking would just bust right
-
up. Do you see what I'm saying? And that's when the Lord said,
-
that's why it has to be dug out. You can't leave it in,
-
cannot leave it in your heart. So I was like, Okay,
-
this is gonna be fun. I'm like, oh Lord, you know,
-
we say prayers like you know, I want to see the miraculous. I
-
want to experience God move. But that means that you have to come to
-
a point in your life where you're coming to a challenge an issue. I
-
call it like a red Sea moment. We all say, oh yeah,
-
we want to be a people that sees miracles, do you Because that means
-
that you're facing the giant, You're facing the red Sea. You don't have
-
anywhere to go. You have to put your full trust in the Lord.
-
So through this process, I'm like, Okay, Lord, I'm going to
-
trust you. So I want to talk a little bit about where do thoughts
-
come from? Where do these mindsets come from? So for years I literally
-
thought my thoughts were just my thoughts, nothing else, and years ago,
-
before we had started the church, Justin was teaching a Sunday evening class and
-
he was talking about thoughts and something called a familiar spirit, and I thought
-
he was crazy. Sometimes I still think he's a little crazy. Okay,
-
So he's talking about familiar spirits and how it sounds like you and I'm sitting
-
here and I started arguing with him. I was like, my thoughts are
-
my own. I don't know what you're talking about. And he's like,
-
no, Lucy, you don't know what you're talking about because blah blah blah
-
blah. And so I was like, okay, lord, I don't understand
-
this. So you're gonna have to show me what a familiar spirit is because
-
I believe my thoughts are my own. So fast forward two weeks go by.
-
We were going to a church in Fredericksburg and it was Sunday morning.
-
We woke up. Everybody's in a good mood, the kids have gotten ready
-
for church, and I am about to blow dry my hair. Y'all are
-
gonna love this poor Justin. So Justin comes walking into the there I'm like
-
you would normally do getting ready, comes walking in and I look up and
-
I look at him, and this thought hits my mind and it says,
-
he is so annoying. Why can't I ever have any privacy? And I
-
went, yeah, he is. And then I lashed out at him and
-
I literally verbeted him, said you are so annoying? Why can't I have
-
any privacy? And then the Lord said that is your familiar spirit? And
-
I went, oh, my gosh, and his eyes got real big,
-
like what did I do? And I said, I said, I am
-
so sorry. Please forgive me. I don't even know why I did that.
-
And the Lord was showing me like, this is what he was talking
-
about. Not all your thoughts are your own. But did you see that
-
the thought came to me. I came into agreement with it. I said,
-
yes, Justin is annoying. And then I attacked. Okay, and
-
I'm like oh, I was like, oh, I'm so sorry. So
-
let me read a Fusion six sixteen. So it says, in all circumstances,
-
take up the shield of faith, which with which you can extinguish all
-
the flaming darts of the evil one. So in this passage, Paul is
-
comparing the attacks of the enemy to flaming darts. Right so flaming darts or
-
arrows. They could represent temptations, doubts, lies, or other spiritual texts.
-
Can any of you relate to this where you're just minding your own business
-
and all of a sudden boom a thought comes and you're like, what the
-
heck is that is that me? I'll give you another example, and this
-
one was hard because I thought something was really wrong with me. Is two
-
weeks old, my oldest. He's now nineteen. I'm a very happy,
-
peaceful person. I've never dealt with depression, thank you lord. Yes,
-
I've had bouts of sadness and things like that. So I have coal and
-
I had gone upstairs to get in and as I'm walking down the stairs,
-
I am bombarded by this thought, drop him, drop him. And I
-
thought, oh, oh my gosh, this must be postpartum depression. There
-
must be something wrong with me. I did not realize until years later.
-
And of course I did not drop him, just so you know I had
-
not dropped him. I was like, oh, no, something's wrong with
-
me. No, that is a fiery, fiery arrow that enemy wants to
-
still kill and destroy. Where does he start The battle is for your mind?
-
If he can get you to come into to agreement with him. It
-
becomes a thought and then it becomes an action. Does that make sense to
-
you? Okay, okay, So let's go to Second Corinthians ten three through
-
six. So this is how you're going to combat this. So it says,
-
for though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according
-
to the flesh, For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh,
-
but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments in every lofty
-
opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey
-
Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience when your obedience is complete. So
-
how do you battle this? You have to take every thought captive. You
-
have to take your thoughts. You have to I think about your thinking first
-
of all. Then you have to take your thoughts, and you have to
-
say, well, Lord, is this you? What is the voice of
-
the Father love peace. He's gentle, he's kind, he's encouraging. What's
-
the voice of the enemy. He accuses you, he shames you, he
-
instills fear in you. He tells you you're not good enough. Weigh that,
-
then you've got your own voice as well. You have to start learning
-
to know the difference between the voices in your head. Yeah. Not every
-
thought is your thought, okay. And so when a thought comes in,
-
like I said, you have the choice you can come into agreement with it.
-
When you come into an agreement with the voice of the enemy, the
-
thoughts of the enemy, you start building strongholds. Okay. So with stronghold
-
holds, that's like a fortified city. It's like a castle that you're building
-
around your heart in your mind. I'm not good enough. I'm not good
-
enough. Guess what You're gonna live the rest of your life believing you're not
-
good enough? Or parents, I gotta talk to you. The Lord convicted
-
me big time. When Micah was eight years old, michaeh, you gotta
-
stand up this kid right here, Come on, stand up. Look at
-
this now you can well, you can stand up right there. This kid
-
right here, This is Micah. This is my youngest. He's fifteen.
-
But when he was eight years old, woo. Those of you that knew
-
Micah, there's quite a few of you that knew Micah when he was little.
-
He was a handful and I literally was like, oh Lord, help
-
you here. I was like he was so much fun, so full of
-
life, but he he had some behavior challenges. Any parents can, can
-
you you know, relate to that, and so, you know, he
-
would make a mistake or he would have a little fit and I'd be like,
-
Micah, why are you doing that and just like go to the negative,
-
you know, punishment or whatever. And the Lord was like, stop
-
it now, and I was like ooh, and he was like, start
-
speaking life over him. Change the way I see his behavior, see him
-
through a new filter, a filter that the Lord sees him. Who is
-
he? Who is he becoming? And so the Lord instead of you know,
-
Michael would maybe have a little meltdown and I would get down and I
-
would say, hey, Michah, this isn't who you are. You are
-
kind, you are gentle, you are patient, you know, and I'd
-
go through speaking the Father's heart over him, and he would just look at
-
me like didn't I just do something really bad? And you know, I
-
just started speaking life and to see how that has changed his life, because
-
once you speak the power of life and death, it's in your words,
-
it's in your tongue. If you speak oh, you're such a naughty kid,
-
or you're you know, I don't know, whatever it is, you
-
can fill in the blank. There's so many things you're not good enough,
-
you'll never succeed. And here's the thing, a lot of this comes from
-
our own inner voice. How many of you tell yourself you're not good enough,
-
you're broken, you're never going to whatever it is. That's not the
-
voice of the father, y'all. So we know that strongholds, they're not
-
built overnight, and they're also not torn down overnight. These strongholds, like
-
I said, they come through repeated thoughts, experiences, and influences. That's
-
why I'm talking to you parents. It's so important, y'all, that we
-
build godly beautiful thoughts in our children, not the strongholds that the enemy wants
-
us to instill in them. So I want to talk to you again about
-
how do we break these strongholds so even though they might look and feel like
-
they're unbeatable, that they're going to be like so difficult to overcome. We're
-
talking about all the stuff, all your life challenges. This is what as
-
followers of Christ again Second Corinthians ten four, we possess the authority and power
-
to tear down these strongholds through the weapons of our warfare, which are not
-
carnal, but in God for pulling down strongholds through prayer, worship and the
-
truth of God's word those empty places. So once you dig out those roots
-
of bitterness, whatever it is, you've got to fill that back in.
-
You can't leave it empty. So you do that by the Word of God,
-
by prayer, worship, and through that we can demolish every argument and
-
pretension that sets itself against the knowledge of God. How by taking every thought
-
captive. Okay, So I want to talk about this story because I was
-
like, man, sometimes I feel like I'm not very good at doing this,
-
and I get struck, you know, I get kind of like down
-
on myself. And the Lord had me watch a teaching by Bill Johnson and
-
he was talking also about mindsets and things, and so I love this story.
-
It's Matthew sixteen five through twelve. So this is the Disciples. They
-
had just seen the Lord. I mean, he's done all these miracles,
-
healings, he's fed the four thousand, he's fed the five thousand, and
-
now they're headed to another region. Okay, So when the Disciples reached the
-
other side, they had forgotten to bring any bread. Jesus said to them,
-
watch and beware of the loaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. And
-
they began discussing it among themselves, saying, we brought no bread. This
-
makes me laugh. I'm like, y'all, they were just with Jesus when
-
he fed the thousands with a few loafs and a few fish, and they're
-
literally having this discussion about not having bread, and I'm just like, oh
-
my, So Jesus says, Jesus is aware of this, and he says,
-
oh, you of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves the
-
fact that you have no bread? Do you not perceive? Do you not
-
remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many baskets you gathered,
-
or the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you gathered?
-
Yeah? How many times in our life do we go through a situation,
-
a scenario and we make it through, and then we're going back around the
-
mountain and then we get to the situation again and then we start stressing out,
-
freaking out, going, oh no, I don't have enough money for
-
the bills. But wait, didn't the Lord just provide for you back here?
-
Yes, and you're walking with the Lord and you're with him here,
-
you're facing your red seat. But yet do you not perceive? Do you
-
not see? I laugh at I'm laughing with Shay right now because she and
-
I am. If you're a visitor here, we have a amazing little nonprofit
-
Come Mercy Gate Ministries that walks with beautiful women that have gone through really hard
-
things, and so Chae and I it's our responsibility to make sure that it
-
stays afloat by raising funds. And let me tell you, neither one of
-
us enjoy raising funds. Okay, we did not do this to raise money.
-
H we do not like it. So twice a year we have a
-
fundraiser and each year we whining complain because we're like, not again, not
-
again. And so Shaye and I were having a moment and we were kind
-
of whining and complaining, maybe one more than the other, I don't know,
-
and She's like, ah, this is not gonna be good, blah
-
blah blah blah blah. And I was like, wait a second, didn't
-
we say this the last fundraiser? And look what the Lord did? He
-
blew it out of the waters. It was the best fundraiser we had ever
-
had, and I was like, oh, look we're going around the mountain
-
again. We're here again. So now we have a choice. So now
-
we have a choice of trusting the Lord or taking that control, stressing out,
-
freaking out, throwing a little hissy fit, whatever we do, because
-
that's kind of what I do. And so you're gonna get chance after chance
-
after chance. Wouldn't it be easier on you, your heart, your mind,
-
your emotions if the next time you get to that place you go,
-
oh, I remember. See. This is why it's important to have a
-
book of remembrance journal. Start writing down all the beautiful, miraculous things that
-
the Lord has done in your life. So when you get to that place,
-
you can go, oh, I remember when, and look how the
-
Lord showed up. He did it. Then he's going to do it again.
-
It's not always going to look the same, but it's okay. So
-
I'm going to share this today. I have a little bit more time than
-
what I had last time. I'm going to quickly share the story that I
-
didn't share in the first service because one of my biggest struggles has been trusting
-
the Lord with finances. So back in two thousand and eight, well maybe
-
it was two thousand and seven, life was good. We were building spec
-
homes, we were building custom homes. Life was good. Didn't have many
-
worries at that time. Financially, well any of you that know. Back
-
in two thousand and eight, two thousand and nine, the economy just crashed,
-
so Justin and I were left with two spec homes and all of our
-
savings just being poured into keeping those afloat. I got really sick with a
-
health a couple of health challenges, and it felt like we were being punished
-
because honestly, we lost everything, and so much so that we had to
-
move to Colorado because Justin couldn't even get hired for a job anywhere here.
-
I'm now pregnant, so I go through a health challenge. The doctor says,
-
hey, you've got this, and I hope you have insurance and do
-
not get pregnant. And I was like, oh no, my life is
-
over, okay, And then now I found out I'm pregnant, and now
-
they can't help treat whatever I was going through. Not that I would have
-
done it anyways, because I was not going to do their protocol. So
-
we have to move to Colorado, have to leave my family, my safety
-
net, my friends, to go to Colorado with a five month old baby
-
and a four year old and I'm stuck in this little bitty apartment justice work.
-
Justin's working his tail off and he's doing a night shift and he was
-
coming home and I was like, you look like death worn over. I
-
mean, he was pale. I was like, this is not how I
-
want to live. We were there eleven months, but I'm just gonna tell
-
you I was mad. I was so angry. I felt like I was
-
being punished. I felt like God wasn't showing up for us. I was
-
like, what did we do to deserve this? And I wasn't getting along
-
with Justin all that well, because Justin's my safe person. If I'm going
-
to be mad at someone, it's gonna be Justin. Poor guy. I'm
-
getting much better, but you know, you understand marriages, right, So
-
the Lord's working on me because we'll like it feels like maybe we can pay
-
our bills. And then the next month, because then he started working a
-
job with commission and we're down to nothing. So I'm like, it's a
-
repeat, it's the cycle. I'm going around that mountain. So what happened
-
in Texas? Now here we are again in Colorado. But I don't have
-
my family, I don't have my friends there. And I remember I'd gotten
-
a card in the mail and my Nana, my sweet little Nana, had
-
sent me forty dollars. That was the only money we had, forty dollars.
-
I'm telling you we were probably negative. I don't even know because I
-
refuse to look in the bank account. So I've got forty dollars and I'm
-
like, we need gas in the car, and I need milk for the
-
kiddos. The church that we went to, those of you that know Rich
-
harais it was his church. We met on Saturday nights. And I show
-
up, Justin's playing the drums and I've got my forty dollars in my purse
-
and I'm like, okay, I'm getting gas and milk. That's what I'm
-
doing with this forty dollars. Well, the Lord's putting on my heart give
-
it away. And I'm like, no, I mean, I know it's
-
only forty dollars, but that's all we had. Jobs Like, I am
-
not giving that away you know that battle. It was like, no,
-
give it away. So I take my forty dollars and I'm like, I
-
cannot believe I'm doing this. I march myself up. They had baskets and
-
I throw that forty dollars in there. I'm like, great, I don't
-
even have gas to get home. So Justin gets done with the drums and
-
he comes and I said, hey, do you think the Lord could fill
-
up my gas tank? And he goes, what do you mean. I
-
said, well, I gave away our last forty dollars and he goes,
-
well, did the Lord tell you to? And I was like, yeah,
-
I think so. I wouldn't have done it. And he was like,
-
then just let it be, so service is over. I'm literally putting
-
Micah because Micah was still a baby in a car seat. I'm putting him
-
in the car seat and Justin comes over and taps me on the shoulder and
-
he goes, here you go, and it's forty dollars. And I was
-
like, oh my gosh, you went and took it out of the basket.
-
That's what I thought he did. And he was like, no,
-
I didn't do that, and I was like, whoo okay, good.
-
I said, well, where did you get Where'd you get this forty dollars?
-
And he said, Lisa, you see that lady over there, I'm
-
like, yeah. She came up to Justin and said, hey, the
-
moment your wife walked through the door, the Lord told me to give you
-
forty dollars, and I just lost it. I went up to this lady
-
and I said, you don't understand, Like I didn't even know walking in
-
that it was going to give the forty dollars. But the Lord knew that
-
he was going to give me the challenge. He was going to give me
-
the challenge. And then I had a choice. Do you see that?
-
Like you all have challenges and you all have choices to make. So in
-
that moment, even though that was the hardest thing for me at that time,
-
because I had my precious little boys and I had no idea how we
-
were going to provide for them, but the Lord gave me a challenge,
-
and I said, Okay, Lord, I'm going to choose you and I'm
-
going to trust you, and I gave him everything we had. He had
-
already provided a way to meet our needs. Yeah, it was just forty
-
dollars. But you have no idea. Had it been one hundred dollars,
-
I don't think it would have been more impactful than the forty dollars. Y'all.
-
It meant everything. It changed my life. And have we had struggles
-
since then? Absolutely we have. But God is so good. So each
-
challenge that we come up to, I'm like, oh, I remember,
-
I remember when the Lord did that. I don't have to stress out.
-
I can trust him with it all. Do you understand giving everything is more
-
than the wealthy and the Bible when they were giving, you know, they
-
could give a lot, but it was the widow in her might that the
-
Lord said, this is more than anything, because it's all that she had.
-
Now I'm not even talking about finances here. I'm talking about your heart.
-
It's giving your everything, your heart to him. He's gonna challenge you.
-
See, my treasure was in the finances. My security was in the
-
finances, not about forty dollars. Is very secure, but that's all I
-
had. Okay, So okay, I've got to share this. So in
-
that teaching I was watching with Bill Johnson, he says, once you have
-
seen supernatural supply, you have lost any right to start any thought process with
-
what you don't have. Let that sink in. Yes, once you have
-
seen supernatural supply, you have lost any right to start any thought process with
-
what you don't have. So miracles they require change, change of mind,
-
change of thought, change of perspective. Right, So instead of I'm so
-
sick, no, I'm healed in Jesus' name. He paid for my healing.
-
He bore our stripes. Okay, I don't have enough. No,
-
he supplies all my needs. So listen to this bill says a renewed mind
-
is like the banks of a river. So it creates a place for faith
-
to flow in. Right, and it always works with faith. So faith
-
sees faith perceives in the renewed mind will always function in the perception of what
-
faith sees. The renewed mind makes possible for the miraculous. You know you
-
have a renewed mind when the impossible looks logical. Does that make sense?
-
I'm at the end of my rope. There's no way, we have nothing
-
left. We only have forty dollars. What are we gonna do? Oh
-
no, that's a lie. He supplies all of my needs. Period.
-
The renewed mind is anchored in God's word. You can't have a renewed mind
-
if you're not going to the word of God and hearing his truths. Wash
-
over you, wash over you, in you, and get rooted in your
-
heart. So Proverbs twenty three seven it says, for as a man thinketh
-
in his heart, so is he. Do you see why it's so important
-
to think about what you're thinking about? How are you thinking about yourself?
-
What do you think about your spouse, your children, your job situation,
-
your parents. Yeah, life is hard. We're all gonna have a lot
-
of challenges. I'm never gonna tell you it's gonna get easier, but guess
-
what, it can get easier, and here it can get easier, and
-
here you're gonna have challenges regardless. The Lord didn't say he came to take
-
away all your challe You're never gonna struggle in life. No, He's given
-
us a way to face the challenges. It's him, it's his word.
-
So I I don't know about y'all. Any of y'all have heard of doctor
-
Caroline Leaf? Anybody you knew what? Okay? I love this woman.
-
She is amazing. In fact, sometimes I have to put her on like
-
like slow mode. Because she's so smart. She is a brain scientist.
-
So she talks about the brain and thought and what positive thoughts they literally form
-
trees. They form trees in your brain. Negative thoughts form really gnarly,
-
nasty, black, dead looking trees. So she says, it takes your
-
brain twenty one days to create a new thought pathway. And Kylie, I
-
know you know a lot more about this. In fact, I think it
-
would be amazing if maybe one day you teach on some of that, because
-
it's so deep. I can't even get into it. We don't even have
-
time. I've got four minutes, but it is amazing. So here's my
-
challenge to you is I want every single one of you here to live an
-
abundant life. And if the battles for your mind and you're not having an
-
abundant life in your mind, in your thought life, how are you gonna
-
live an abundant life. If you're constantly dealing with the negative, I'm never
-
gonna amount to anything. We're always gonna be broke, I'm always gonna be
-
sick. Well, guess what you're setting yourself up for? That you really
-
are. So when you change your mindset, there's power in that the Lord
-
said he gave you the mind of Christ. You have the Holy Spirit inside
-
of you. You are able and capable of changing all of that. So
-
my challenge to you is, I want you to take the next twenty one
-
days. I print off a calendar. I just went to Google. I
-
printed one off for myself, and I want you to take one thought.
-
I don't want you to go into all the thoughts that you're battling with.
-
I want you to go take one thought. In fact, take a moment.
-
A lot of you probably already know what that thought is that you struggle
-
with. I want you to take that one thought. I want you to
-
be so mindful of it that when it pops into your mind, you say,
-
no, I do not receive that. I do have enough. I
-
am healed, whatever it is. And I want you to go day by
-
day and check off, did I take my thoughts captive? Did I change?
-
Did I flip the way I was thinking about things? And in twenty
-
one days? It takes twenty one days to create that new pathway. It's
-
like a river. It's a new pathway the way that you think, and
-
that is what's going to give you the change. Okay, So here's here's
-
some things. One of the things that the Lord has me do when I'm
-
really struggling in an area is speaking. Like I said earlier, the power
-
of life and death are in your tongue. So if you're battling something,
-
make a declaration. So here here's an example. So if I'm battling the
-
fear of lack, my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches
-
in Glory by Jesus Christ. I reject the lie of lack, and I
-
embrace the truth of abundance as Jehovah Jirah meets and exceeds every need and expectation.
-
So do you see how if you're battling with lack, you speak the
-
life over you. So I'm asking are y'all willing to do this challenge?
-
Are you willing? Do you want areas of your life to change? Okay?
-
So twenty one days I'm challenging you to do that, And could we
-
get the prayer teams to come on up. I want y'all to take a
-
moment just in silence, and I want you to think about what is it
-
you're struggling with it? What is the battle in your mind right now?
-
What is that thought that you need to take captive and bring it into the
-
obedience of Christ. If you have something you're struggling with, you don't have
-
to do it alone. There's hope, y'all. His name is Jesus,
-
and he changes life. And you've got people all around you that are willing
-
to walk with you, encourage you. Call a friend if you're battling and
-
you're like, I can't do this alone. I've got my friends. I've
-
got Jill, I got Jay, I got Carla. We got friends all
-
around that I'm like, help me. And friends bring a new perspective.
-
They can love you right where you are, but they can speak hard truth.
-
But because you can trust them, you know that you can share your
-
heart. So don't do this alone. But if you want change in your
-
life, go after those bitter roots, those deep rooted things, and be
-
willing to let the Lord dig them up. So I just I'm so grateful
-
that I was able to speak. I'm going to close in prayer, and
-
then as you need prayer up here, just please come so heavenly Father Lord,
-
we just thank you. I thank you that you are such a good
-
father. I thank you that your mercies are new every single morning that you
-
thank you for listening. For more messages and other resources, please subscribe to
