  1. Wy don't y'all extend your hands towards Ben and let's

  2. bless him.

  3. Father.

  4. I thank you for Ben.

  5. I thank you for his heart, for you, for family,

  6. for men, Lord, for your kingdom. And I asked that

  7. you would fill him this morning with your spirit, that

  8. you would cause your.

  9. Anointing to rest upon him and flow through him, that

  10. everything that's on your heart, Lord, that you would just

  11. say it, Lord, that he would stay sensitive to your

  12. leaning and.

  13. Your direction this morning in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

  14. Good morning, Cross Kingdom.

  15. Amen. Mm hm h m h man.

  16. It's gonna be still for a second, just listening the Lord.

  17. Yeah.

  18. M you know, one of the things I've had to

  19. work on in.

  20. My life really hard, especially if you know my wife.

  21. You know this has been a challenge for me over

  22. my lifetime, is slowing down. Do y'all know that there's

  23. nothing in the Kingdom of God that's microwaved And there's

  24. this all surrounding miracles, and they're great. I don't want

  25. to take anything away from a miracle, but you know,

  26. we weren't designed to live a life of miracles. Scripture

  27. says we were designed to live a life of faith.

  28. Amen.

  29. More often than not when we we want to see

  30. a miracle in our life, and often it's because something

  31. has happened in our life, either unexpected or out of blue,

  32. or something that we may have caused and want a

  33. miracle to happen to fix it all. And that's okay,

  34. but it doesn't take away from the fact that we

  35. were called to live a life of faith. I say

  36. this to you in this moment very humbly because I

  37. taught them something in first Service and wrestle with it

  38. since yesterday. Wrestle with it since yesterday to teach on it,

  39. and then I taught on it, and Sean and I

  40. were up here talking about the difference to be first

  41. service and second service, and man, there is a difference

  42. I have. Just I'm not saying batter good, worse or better.

  43. There's a difference between first service and second service. And

  44. I taught on it first service and it's really interesting.

  45. Got done and I was just kind of like, well, okay,

  46. and a lady came up in the back and she

  47. grabbed me and she'd been fighting with all kinds of things.

  48. Hope she doesn't mind me sharing this, but she's.

  49. Like, everything you said today, if nobody else heard it.

  50. It was just for me.

  51. And that tends to get me because for most of

  52. my adult time as a Christian, Kim and I have

  53. often talked about this that I care about, the one,

  54. the one in the back that nobody sees, the one

  55. in the back that nobody sees.

  56. You're worth it.

  57. You're absolutely worth it. Hm, You're worth saying.

  58. You have something to add to what God has. You're special,

  59. You're absolutely amazing, and you're worth it. Yeah, So sitting

  60. down and thinking about second service, man, we're just gonna

  61. jump in.

  62. I want to talk to you a little bit today.

  63. M Hello, If you guys will go into your Bibles

  64. to one Corinthians thirteen. I want to talk to you

  65. guys today about hope. Everybody say hope.

  66. You know in church, in church with a big C,

  67. there's a lot.

  68. I mean, you google podcasts, you look up stuff. You

  69. find lots of teachings on faith, right, that's.

  70. A pretty good one.

  71. You can find lots of teachings on love. How many

  72. teachings do you find on hope? Why don't we talk

  73. about hope? The lack of it is slowly killing the church.

  74. And I know in some reference you understand what I'm

  75. talking about, because at some point, it's sometime in your

  76. life you prayed for something and didn't see it immediately, and.

  77. It drained you.

  78. And as you're flying down the highway of Christianity from

  79. that point forward, you questioned every prayer after that. And then,

  80. as a church with a big sea church, Christianity as

  81. a whole, we had the audacity to start blaming God

  82. for our lack of faith. Why did I see that healing? Well,

  83. you know, God's trying to teach you something. How many

  84. of you all have heard that in your life? Okay,

  85. think about the audacity of just that statement.

  86. God's trying to teach you something.

  87. You would go to jail as a parent if you

  88. looked at your kid and said, give your hand that

  89. stove's hot.

  90. Put their hand on stove.

  91. See pain, it's teaching you.

  92. You go to jail for that.

  93. But yet we blame God for the same thing. We

  94. have the audacity to blame God for the same thing.

  95. We start making up excuses, we take scripture out of

  96. context to framework our lack of faith.

  97. Am I standing up here today?

  98. I'm gonna tell you why people get prayed for and

  99. don't get healed.

  100. Nope, I'm not God, but I will stand here, bold

  101. face and look in the eye and say, God heals.

  102. He would not send his son to the cross to

  103. be beaten unrecognizably.

  104. So that you could be healed, just to keep you sick.

  105. So I want to share this weega. I want to

  106. share it in love. Troy's pain over me up here

  107. today and.

  108. One of the things that I want to really impart

  109. with you guys.

  110. And I want to do this.

  111. My life's been really good over the last twenty years.

  112. If you've known me, I can be very aggressive with things.

  113. So I want to deliver this message with with love

  114. and know that I care about you, which is why

  115. I want to say it. If you're asking for something

  116. from the Lord, Scripture says that you may not receive

  117. it because you ask a miss What does that mean? Well,

  118. here's the fun part of my job. I don't know,

  119. but you do. What do you mean by that? Too?

  120. Long have Christians come to leadership in the Body of

  121. Christ for answers when the whole time the answer is

  122. sitting inside you. There are things that the Lord has

  123. for you that he will not share with anybody else.

  124. I want to say that because I can train wreck

  125. a lot of people. There are things that God has

  126. for you that he will not share with anybody else.

  127. And we go down the list, Right, well, what about

  128. the prophecy? What about this? And what about Ephesians four? Right,

  129. we're all knit together and my brother's allowed to speak

  130. into my life. So I got to run to him

  131. and ask him. You're trying to avoid your relationship ship

  132. with God. You're trying to avoid your relationship with God.

  133. God is still standing there talking to you. Wait, Joe,

  134. what do you think the Lord would have me do

  135. about this? I want Joe to look at you and

  136. go ask them. When Kim and I were pastoring up North,

  137. lots of people would come to us with challenges, and

  138. the first thing I would say is, well, what's the

  139. Lord telling you? I think maybe I'm not gonna say

  140. never majority of the time. Oh man, you've got a

  141. problem in your life that you're not even talking to

  142. the Lord about. I'm not gonna get in a seat

  143. where you blame me for the errors in your life.

  144. Amen.

  145. I really didn't want y'all to go to onest Corinthia thirteen.

  146. All right, y'all there yet you've had enough time, Amen,

  147. Verse thirteen. Three things will last forever, faith, hope, and love,

  148. and the greatest of these is love. Now, this is

  149. a very interesting sentence to me. For all time, hope

  150. will exist. I want y'all to take just a second

  151. and think back to when you had genuine hope in

  152. your life, like you were genuinely excited about something. And

  153. then I want you to ask yourself, was it based

  154. on so God said? Was it based on your relationship

  155. with the Father? The word actually separates hope and expectation.

  156. Did John know there's a difference Philippians one, verse twenty.

  157. According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing

  158. I will be ashamed. Webster actually defines hope as a

  159. desire of something good or a belief that is obtainable.

  160. According to Webster, expectation is the act of expecting or

  161. looking forward to a future event with at least some

  162. reason to believe it will happen. So expectation is expectation

  163. is based on something giving you a reason that will happen.

  164. Hope is based on believe. There is a fundamental difference here.

  165. Hope originates in desire and may exist with little or

  166. no grounds for its existence. Expectation is founded on reason,

  167. which renders the given event probable. They are built on observation, memory,

  168. and or circumstances. Now, this is really interesting, and you

  169. may be looking at me going, why are you talking

  170. about difference between hope and expectation because most of us

  171. put them together. The reality is your expectation is poisoning

  172. your hope. Give you an example, right, how many other

  173. are Dallas Cowboy fans? You have a monstrous hope, right,

  174. Like there's hope? Right? Lose a game or two and

  175. all of a sudden your expectations for their Super Bowl

  176. hopes are dashed. Right. Okay, we'll go something a little

  177. simpler for those of you here and aren't football players.

  178. Let's go to church services. Oh I like that one.

  179. Most people in church hope we're gonna be done by noon. Yeah,

  180. but if you cross, you come across Kingdom, you expect

  181. it to be later.

  182. Yeah.

  183. Okay, so you got that one. Amen?

  184. Amen?

  185. What about what about let let's get let's get super spiritual? Now?

  186. What about what about Christianity? Right comes to Christmas? Most

  187. of us expect presents right as a whole Christmas. You know,

  188. presence it would be odd for a lot of us

  189. to see at Christmas tree with no presence under it, right,

  190. that would be super odd. So expect presents at Christmas? Right?

  191. How many of you hope you're saved? Right? It's not

  192. based on anything you read it. Faith happened and you believed.

  193. You believe that when you die you are going to

  194. go to heaven. How many people you talk to lately

  195. in your circle that have been to heaven? So my

  196. point is you don't have some circumstance or person in

  197. your life that is physically died, checked out, come back

  198. and been like, man, your house looks good. I just

  199. want to tell you that. So that's hope, y'all. Are

  200. y'all getting the difference between hope and expectation? This is important, y'all.

  201. So many times we are trying to conceive faith from

  202. our expectations of failure.

  203. I'll read that again.

  204. Many times we are trying to conceive faith from an

  205. expectation of failure. The soil of your heart is either

  206. positive or negative in its expectations. Proverbs twenty three seven

  207. says for as a man thinks, so is he. Proverbs

  208. thirteen twelve Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when

  209. the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

  210. Go to Hebrews eleven for me.

  211. Hebrews eleven, yep, Pastor Justin's favorite favorite book in the Bible,

  212. because it talks about coffee.

  213. And then.

  214. Verse one. If y'all don't know it, it's in a

  215. lot of circles. Chapter eleven here is called the A

  216. lot of people refer to it different things. But it's

  217. kind of like the Faith Hall of Fame, right, Like

  218. this is like and what's said is we look back

  219. at this and kind of reverence and all. But you

  220. know you were supposed to get better from here, right

  221. all right? Verse one. Faith is the confidence that what

  222. we hope for will actually happen. It gives assurance about

  223. things we cannot see. The New Living it's better. I

  224. almost brought up the Passion translation. It's not a translation

  225. for y'all, just the allawere. I'm reading The New Living

  226. for the record of the people online and Justin for

  227. it is the confidence that we hope for. Faith is

  228. the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen.

  229. It gives us the assurance of things we cannot see.

  230. I read this Hi I love this because it's really

  231. hope is the thermost stat of our faith. Hope is

  232. the thermest stat of our faith. Let's not let's not

  233. pick sick this, Let's pick uh, let's pick finances. Right,

  234. let's touch that one for a second. When it comes

  235. to hope, is your hope in God or your ability?

  236. I fight the same fight. I'm not. I'm not calling

  237. you all out. I nothing. I don't fight myself. Is

  238. it in your ability or God? And I'll be honest

  239. with you. I find that struggle myself, right. And there's

  240. something in us. I don't know where it comes in

  241. life that we all believe. We're all supposed to be wealthy,

  242. like physical dollars in your bank account wealthy. But how

  243. many of us have the maturity or the character to

  244. handle it. I know in a previous world, I lived

  245. in kim and I had a couple of houses, a

  246. bunch of cars on that stuff, and I didn't have

  247. the maturity for it. I'll be honest with you. And

  248. and we know this if we use, if we use

  249. wisdom in our own lives, none of you would toss

  250. your car keys to your four year old because they

  251. would die or kill other people. But we don't sit

  252. back and honestly evaluate ourselves and the actions that we

  253. we carry out throughout the day. We have to make

  254. sure our hope is anchored in the right thing. Is

  255. our hope anchored in people or circumstances or God? You

  256. don't want to touch on this one for a minute, y'all.

  257. If y'all get upset and me talk to Troy, he

  258. pray for me. Let's talk about circumstances, our hope being

  259. in people for just a second. Justin has talked a

  260. lot here lately about pastors who have fallen. I want

  261. to I want to just hear me out. Okay, did

  262. God use them while they were in sin?

  263. See how people? Should you struggle with that? Did God

  264. use them? Did people get saved? Yes? They did. They

  265. came to the Lord when they fell?

  266. Right where?

  267. What was that like?

  268. Deep Southern? When they failed? When they fell? When they fell?

  269. How many people walked away from the church? Wasn't he

  270. always a man? Was he ever perfect? The Why don't

  271. we act like the people that are up heround stage

  272. are stop following me? Stop following justin follow God. If

  273. we have something for you, amen, If we have something

  274. for you. Amen, get it, sew it in your own lives.

  275. Be responsible for yourself. We have a whole nation right

  276. now that it's holding its breath in hope of one man.

  277. Let me help you.

  278. He wasn't our savior two thousand years ago, and he

  279. ain't our savior today, and he is a man. What

  280. I almost did the hope of good jokes versus the

  281. expatation of dad jokes. I almost did it, but now

  282. you're doing it to me. We have we have the

  283. whole nation, even Christians, and look at what's look at

  284. Let's talk about that for a second. Let what is

  285. doing to our hope? What if he doesn't get into office?

  286. Are you going to be?

  287. Okay, let me help you. God's still God. He already

  288. knows the outcome. God is not sitting up in heaven

  289. holding his breath going a little closed one.

  290. What about hope and circumstances?

  291. You know, lots of people say, hey, if it's God's will,

  292. He'll make it easy or I'll open the door.

  293. Can that happen? Yes? Should we rely on that? Both

  294. of you agree? Should we rely on that? Okay? You

  295. know what? Man? Listen or sorry, folks talking to myself here.

  296. In Jesus Name Acts, chapter sixteen, verse nine through twenty four,

  297. Paul was told in a dream to go to Macedonia,

  298. where he was beaten and put in prison. If it's easy,

  299. does that make it gone? I know it's hard. I

  300. get it. It's hard. Can God make it easy?

  301. Yes? My point to.

  302. You is stopped looking for the easy road in life,

  303. because I promise you, if you're led by circumstances, your

  304. circumstances will shape how you view God.

  305. Well, God made it easy. Well, God made it easy. Well,

  306. God made it easy. Sickness, well, God must want me

  307. to happen. It's all been easy till now.

  308. If you trust in circumstances, circumstances will dictate your life.

  309. It's all through scripture. I just read you one verse.

  310. Let's talk about two Timothy chapter three, verse two. When

  311. God When people's Christians say, well, God will make the way.

  312. You know, let's be honest. When we say God will

  313. make the way, what are we really saying?

  314. Yep, I want him to do it for me. What

  315. we're really.

  316. Asking, in my opinion, is we want God to prove

  317. out what we're hearing. The problem with that is then

  318. it takes no faith. Two Timothy Chapter three, verse twelve.

  319. Yes and all who desire to live a godly life.

  320. Who wants to live a godly life? Regionne Okay, so

  321. he's talking to everybody in here. Yes and all who

  322. desire to live a godly to live godly in Christ,

  323. Jesus will hold on.

  324. I got to read that right. It says suffer persecution.

  325. But wait a minute.

  326. I thought God was gonna make a way. If your

  327. circumstances dictate for you God's will for your life, circumstances

  328. will talk you out of God's will. I'm say that again.

  329. If your circumstances dictate, if they dictate to you God's will,

  330. then circumstances will talk you out of God's will.

  331. Guys, it's on us. As I start to land this airplane,

  332. I've been wanting to say that.

  333. I'm actually a pilot, So I love that I'm on

  334. short final wheels down. Amen, guys, we have to keep

  335. our hope up. Go to Romans Chapter four were for

  336. me verse seventeen. That is what the scriptures mean when

  337. God told him I have made you the father of

  338. many nations. This happened because Abraham believed in God, who

  339. brings back, who brings the dead back to life, and

  340. who creates new things out of nothing Verse eighteen. Even

  341. when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping,

  342. believing that he would become the father of many nations,

  343. for God had said to him, that's how many descendants

  344. you will have. I use Abraham as a good example,

  345. because Abraham, there's more to Abraham's life that I can

  346. get to. And while I'm on short final coming in

  347. Pappy's are red and white, I'm looking good. There's more

  348. to Abraham's life than just he said, yes, slept with

  349. a maid, slept with his wife, and that's it. I

  350. encourage you, guys, all of you to look at look

  351. at the life of people of faith in scripture outside

  352. of just Hebrews eleven. Abraham followed God, and he did

  353. not do it perfectly. He gave his wife away. Most

  354. of y'all would be sitting with Jesus if you tried

  355. to give your wife away. Sarah was deeply anointed. I

  356. want to encourage you and give you, guys hope today.

  357. Hope Jeremiah twenty nine to eleven, for God's thoughts towards

  358. you are good, not evil. They give you a future

  359. and hope. Jeremiah is talking to people in captivity when

  360. that statement said, and he didn't tell them to leave,

  361. he didn't tell them to sharpen their battle axes. He said, hey,

  362. don't forget God's thoughts towards you are good, not evil.

  363. Despite what you're feeling and seeing and thinking, God's thoughts

  364. forwards you are good not evil, to give you a

  365. future and a hope. I want to encourage you. A

  366. lot of times we can we can be misguided or

  367. misled in how we view scripture. That some of what

  368. how God sees good in our life only applies.

  369. To certain areas.

  370. Jesus said that he comes so that you can have life,

  371. and have life more abundantly. That's in all areas. That's

  372. in health, finances, marriage, I'll stop there, but marriage. Some

  373. of y'all will have a more abundant marriage. I'm talking

  374. about what you do close doors. That's all right, Salem.

  375. Don't talk to you when you're married. I promise, like

  376. and that even in that we all joke about it.

  377. We giggled out of a bunch y'all turning red right now.

  378. And I'm just gonna let the Lord ad minister to.

  379. You, and that's okay. Of course, this is the moment

  380. I get to tell all the husbands.

  381. For you wives who don't know what I meant by that,

  382. ask your husband later at lunch. He'll share with you

  383. what more abundantly means. But more abundant in life, y'all.

  384. It covers a whole lot of things.

  385. Okay, let's go to that.

  386. I hear you when God says I want you to

  387. have life and have it more abundantly, tell me what

  388. he wasn't talking about.

  389. Now.

  390. The train wreck that happens in a lot of us

  391. internally is but I am not seeing it in my life.

  392. Could it be because of you?

  393. Now?

  394. I know that sounds really negative, but I am trying

  395. to give you hope because this church is full of

  396. people who will come alongside you, who will help you.

  397. It's one of the things I'm most excited about in

  398. men's ministry this Tuesday six thirty.

  399. By the way, guys, six three zero six thirty.

  400. Right here in the sanctuary, we're gonna go through while

  401. at heart, we're gonna talk about what it actually means

  402. to be a man. There is a fierceness to us

  403. that has slumbered for too long. We're going to have

  404. life and have it more abundantly, say more abundantly.

  405. My heart for you is that we'll look inside.

  406. It's one of the reasons I believe that Justin is

  407. the ministry that he has to help people with inner healing.

  408. Because we need it. Say we need it.

  409. We need it. We all do.

  410. And Justin's calendar's full through February.

  411. All right, So saddle up with the person next to you,

  412. I said, saddle up with the person next to you.

  413. Find people you can be vulnerable with men and while

  414. of heart and in the men's meetings, we are going

  415. to be vulnerable. I told you it's going to cost

  416. you something. It is going to cost you something. And

  417. some of you older heads in here been taught and trained.

  418. Just keep it together, lock it up, put on that

  419. good face. Some of these younger guys are gonna call

  420. you out on it because.
