Walking In The Light!

We're all are gonna have to listen really quickly this morning.
-
If you're visiting with us, we normally traditionally go about
-
an hour for worship, and uh today was a little
-
unique and you have to you have to be flexible
-
so you don't end up quenching the spirit because we
-
can come with our preconceived plans and he has the
-
ability to uh change them up and that's a good thing.
-
So good morning those of you on live stream. We
-
apologize for.
-
The delay, but I think we're good, all right.
-
So in the next hour and a half before we
-
just joking. This was one of those weeks where I've
-
said this before. I literally woke up this morning and
-
was like, it's been a crazy week. We've been running
-
from morning tonight every night, and my buddy Brad Roberts
-
is up in the sound booth. He's a sound engineer
-
from Dallas and he's been working on the system and
-
changing the live stream and anyways, so I don't know
-
if you all noticed the.
-
Sound was a little bit different. Sean was like, man,
-
is that me?
-
I said, he put every glory app on there, and
-
but we appreciate Brad coming and helping us out I've
-
known him for twenty six years. For those of you
-
that were around here when so Cafe was running, I actually,
-
in fact, Brad and I worked for the same nuclear company,
-
the Atlantic Group.
-
Way back. My hair was my I love you, Becky Bowen. Anyways, so.
-
I want to stretch the way you think about the
-
Lord this morning.
-
That's my goal.
-
I specifically want to stretch you in the way you
-
think about being light. So I want to talk to
-
you just for a little bit here on walking in
-
the light and really what that means. And there's probably
-
some metaphoric, preconceived ideas y'all have had where you thought
-
it was way more metaphor than literal. I'm going to
-
hopefully get to a couple of things that just really
-
mess you up in a good way and make you
-
want to go.
-
Study the Word. My heart.
-
Every time I teach is more than anything, I'm able
-
to impart a hunger for his word and help give
-
you skill on how to study.
-
His word for yourself. Does that sound reasonable?
-
And so every time I teach, my heart is that
-
y'all don't just gain knowledge, but you actually grow in
-
intimacy with Him through impartation. Because of the revelation and
-
that it's not just simply knowledge of Him. Okay, so
-
if you have your Bibles with you or your Bible
-
app go to Genesis one.
-
We're going to start in the beginning. We're gonna we're
-
gonna work all the way through. No, we're not.
-
And I'm gonna point out a couple of things you're
-
gonna find as God begins to unveil himself in Genesis
-
one that you're going to see there are actually different
-
types of light. Because God is light. He's not a
-
metaphoric light. He is literal light. He is the light
-
that meant Paul on the road to Damascus and literally
-
blinded him.
-
Because of his glory.
-
And it's this light that comes into us through his
-
sun and begins to permeate every fiber of our being.
-
It begins to change us from the inside out. And
-
as we submit to his spirit and surrender our lives
-
to him, we begin to recognize that we're lighter, We
-
begin to radiate light.
-
People begin to notice.
-
That you're not nearly as dark as you were a
-
couple of years ago. And you can even see before
-
and after pictures when people get delivered. I love when
-
people come into my office, and they get healing and deliverance,
-
and their continence literally is radiating more light, and it's
-
not metaphoric, it's literal, radiant light. And in Genesis it says,
-
in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
-
The earth was without form and void, and darkness was
-
over the face of the deep, and the spirit of
-
God was hovering or brewing over the face of the waters.
-
And God said, let there be light, and there was light.
-
So right there, eternal light and spoken light are in
-
that one sentence. You have eternal light. Who is God?
-
You have spoken light? Where he said, let there be light,
-
And then we're going to see that you have created
-
light when he made the stars, the sun, and the moon,
-
and he says, he says that the light was good,
-
and God separated the light from darkness. God called the
-
light day, and the darkness.
-
He called night.
-
And there was evening and there was morning, and that
-
was the first day. Day starts at night. According to
-
the scriptures, it doesn't actually start. In the mons, and
-
God said, let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed
-
and fruit, trees bearing fruit in which their seed, each
-
according to its kind, on earth.
-
And it was so.
-
The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to
-
their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is
-
their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw
-
that it was good. And there was evening and there
-
was morning, and that was.
-
The third day.
-
So if you're wondering, yes, I'm skipping a little bit
-
of a I'm skipping one of the days. But notice
-
that that was the third day. That vegetation is growing,
-
trees are growing. You have life, and it's being nurtured
-
by this spoken light. And yet the sun in the
-
moon is not there yet. Remember in Revelation it says
-
that there will be no need for the sun or
-
the moon, because the Lamb is the light. And from
-
day one, God has been revealing himself through his Word,
-
which who is his word, Jesus. In the beginning was
-
the word, the word was with God, the word was God,
-
and the word became flesh. So the Father, the Son,
-
and the Spirit are there in creation. Right there in Genesis,
-
the God had literally recreating an earth that's in chaos,
-
full of darkness, and the Holy Spirit's brewing over this,
-
and the eternal Light says, let there be light, and
-
he's literally released the light of Jesus into the earth,
-
and life happens. And then it goes on to say,
-
are y all with me, and let and he goes
-
and let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens,
-
to separate the day from the night. And let them
-
be for signs and for seasons and for days and years.
-
Let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens,
-
to give light upon the earth. And it was so oh,
-
and God made the two great lights, the greater light
-
to rule the day and the lesser light to rule
-
the night, and the stars to rule over the day
-
and over the night, and to separate the light from
-
the darkness. And God saw it was good. And there
-
was evening and there was morning, and that was the
-
fourth day. So the sun and moon is literally made
-
the day after everything's already growing. So my challenge to
-
you this morning is to actually begin to think in
-
terms of light, to process in terms of color, to
-
recognize that when Jesus says you are the light of
-
the world, that it's not metaphoric. And when we sing
-
that song from camp, this little light of mine, I'm
-
gonna let it shine. It's actually a much bigger light
-
than a little light. Now you can dim your light.
-
There are dim lights out there, especially in the political world.
-
But you can brighten your light. And I'm going to
-
show you how hopefully. And John three nineteen to twenty one,
-
it says, and this is the judgment. The light has
-
come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than
-
the light because their works were evil. For everyone who
-
does wicked things hates the light and does not come
-
to the light lest his work should be exposed. But
-
whoever does what is true comes to the light so
-
that it may be clearly seen that his works have
-
been carried out in God, Why do you think people
-
when they're struggling with sin disappear because there's a part
-
of them wrestling with the reality. They don't want to
-
be in the light because they understand that once they're
-
in that light, what they've been carrying and what they've
-
been trying to hide can no longer stay hidden. Jesus said,
-
what you speak in the secret places is going to
-
be shouted from the mountaintops. And we're seeing that, we're
-
seeing exposure by his light all over the place. Why,
-
because he is drawing near in this season, and the
-
closer he draws, whatever darkness is in your life, whatever
-
darkness you've not dealt with, it's going to get exposed
-
by his light. All of this is written for believers,
-
you understand, Like when we read the Word, all of
-
it was written for believers. It wasn't written for the world.
-
And so when he's addressing these crazy Sins and Corinthians
-
and tone them like, hey, this crap's not even been
-
heard of among Pagans. That's crap ola for Greek. And
-
he says, that's not even been heard like the Pagans
-
don't even do that. He is a loving father, saying
-
that this darkness has nothing to do with you.
-
You have nothing in.
-
Common every time you choose to sin willfully because it's
-
no longer a slave descin because you've been set free
-
from the power of sin, from the slavery of sin.
-
When you step into.
-
G Jesus and you carry this light inside of you,
-
and if we don't understand that that is an eternal, everlasting,
-
literal light because the moment you stepped into Jesus, you
-
your spirit came alive and your maid in God's image,
-
and he is light. He literally when he manifest, he
-
can manifest just like he did on the road said Damascus,
-
as a light, because that's who he is. It's his nature.
-
It's not just something he does. He is eternal light.
-
Amos eight eleven and twelve says, behold, the days are coming,
-
declares the Lord God, when I will send a famine
-
on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a
-
thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.
-
They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north
-
to east, and they shall run to and fro to
-
seek the word of the Lord, that they won't find
-
it interesting enough. In Isaiah nine, it says the people
-
who walked in darkness have seen a great light this
-
and goes on to say, those who dwelt in the
-
land of deep darkness, on them the light shone. So
-
it's prophesying Isaiah nine the birth of Jesus, and it's
-
and it's actually giving you a picture of deep darkness.
-
So Galatians four to four when it says in the
-
fullness of time, that's when Jesus came, And the fullness
-
of time meant that it was in the fullness of
-
darkness you had a roughly four hundred year lapse between
-
Malachi and Matthew, where there's no revelation being released. I mean,
-
you had the scrolls and you had the Old Covenant,
-
but literally there was no prophetic words going. It was silence,
-
and it was in the fullness of time in the
-
in this moment, this crescendoing moment in history, where it's
-
so dark, it says, for unto us, a child is born,
-
to us, a son is given, and the government will
-
be upon his shoulders, and his name shall be Wonderful
-
counselor Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, of the
-
increase of his government and of peace. There will be
-
no end. You have been You have been given a
-
kingdom that exists inside of you that literally radiates the
-
light of your creator. And as you embrace his spirit
-
and allow him to increase the capacity of your spirit,
-
that light increases. You become a greater light to the
-
world around you. And every moment that we choose to
-
stiff our him or not yield, or not allow him
-
to lower or to remove our strongholds, we're putting a
-
bushel over that light. And you have people in your
-
life that are watching you right now that you have
-
influence with that, whether you recognize it or not, these
-
people are looking at you because there's something that they're
-
picking up on. And it's not even as much as
-
what you're saying. It's what you're carrying. And don't forget
-
that people are looking at you way more than you think.
-
And the more you increase your spirit's capacity, the brighter
-
the lights are going to be, the easier the potential
-
for those that are in darkness to come out. Isaiah
-
sixty one and two says, a rise, shine, for your
-
light has come, and the glory of the Lord has
-
risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
-
and thick darkness the peoples. But the Lord will arise
-
upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.
-
Remember y'all have back at two fourteen, for the earth
-
will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of
-
the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. This issue,
-
this time and history that we're living, which is literally
-
a perplexity of nations, and we're living in this I
-
would say this tipping point, this reprieve for our country
-
where literally as the government is being audited, the Lord
-
has been auditing the church the Lord has been dealing.
-
He is drawing close and exposing the church. It says
-
judgment starts first in the House of God, and he starts.
-
With his elders.
-
But we need to be very careful as the body
-
of Christ to not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
-
God has not changed his mind on what his government is.
-
But it's wounded people that have refused to remove their
-
bushels and allow that light to increase, that have ended
-
up living their lives at the expense of others.
-
Because wounded people, wound people.
-
You didn't walk into this building and go, oh, it
-
hurts so bad to come in here. No, if you
-
get hurt in church, you get hurt by people. Right,
-
You didn't get hurt by a shell of a building.
-
This building is not the church you are. And God
-
is purifying his bride because he wants us to be
-
the light and salt we're called to. As much change
-
as we've seen in the last month in this country,
-
it will disappear as quick as it's come if the
-
church is not awakened to the reality of who they
-
are and to take their rightful place so that they
-
can advance the kingdom and bring the Kingdom to earth.
-
Make no mistake. Literally, this can be gone like that
-
in a moment. And it's not politicians jobs to save
-
a country. It's the church's job to be the church
-
to advance the Kingdom. Everything on earth that is not
-
in heaven. Guess what, there's your assignment. You don't need
-
an angelic visitation to go pray for someone. If you
-
see the evidence of darkness in their life, that is
-
a target.
-
You don't need anything beyond that in that moment.
-
So John one to five, the light shines in the darkness,
-
and the darkness has not overcome it.
-
I shared this first service.
-
I remember John Paul Jackson sharing a story probably fifteen
-
years ago. They used to do outreaches in Salem. So
-
they would do outreaches dream They would have a booth
-
and they would do spiritual reading, spiritual cleansings, which were
-
you know, deliverance and dream interpretation, and they would meet
-
with these witches and these warlocks. And this warlock came
-
up to John Paul and said, when I'm done with you, you
-
know you're gonna be on the ground. I'm gonna, you know,
-
blah blah blah, I'm gonna curse you and you like that, Alex,
-
I got the blah blah blah, and I'm gonna curse you,
-
and when I'm done with you, you're just gonna be
-
a puddle of nothing. So John Paul goes, all right, well,
-
go ahead, and the warlock starts running his mouth trying
-
to do all this stuff, and he's like he was done.
-
He goes, okay, he goes, I don't know what I'm
-
supposed to be feeling right now, he goes, But you
-
had your chance, now it's mine. Then he said Lord,
-
and he prayed a simple prayer, and that guy lifted
-
off of the ground and supernaturally stuck to the wall
-
and begin to scream at the top of his lungs.
-
Because darkness is no match to light. It's like it's
-
like taking a match and trying to fight a bonfire, y'all.
-
It's it's not like, it's not even close. You don't
-
have to be a friend of darkness. Do you understand
-
If you walk into a room it's pitch black, and
-
you light a little candle, what happens? That room illuminates
-
just from a little candle. I'm talking quick, y'all, listening quick?
-
All right? Great again?
-
Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of
-
the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,
-
but will have the light of life. And first John
-
one seven says this, but if we walk in the
-
light as he is in the light, we have fellowship
-
with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son
-
cleanses us from all sin.
-
Over and over and over.
-
In fact, there is this Greek word that's called poikilos,
-
and it's translated all through the New Covenant as various
-
or multi colored. And when you realize that that word
-
it means multicolored, all of a sudden, it begins to
-
change things like the scriptures that you read when it
-
talks about the manifold wisdom of God, the multicolored of God,
-
the multicolored gifting of God, the multicolored trials, the multi
-
colored diseases. All of a sudden, you realize again this
-
issue of light is hitting home. You realize that it's
-
not metaphoric, it's literal, and that heaven is going to
-
be full of colors that we've not even perceived yet.
-
Ephesians five says, for at one time you were darkness,
-
but now you are light in the Lord. Walk is
-
children of light, for the fruit of light is found
-
in all that is good and right and true. And
-
try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take
-
no part in unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
-
For it's shameful even to speak of the things that
-
they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by
-
the light, it becomes visible. For anything that becomes visible
-
is light. Therefore, it says, awake, o sleeper, and arise
-
from the dead, and Christ will.
-
Shine upon you one more.
-
And then we're going to dive deep for about five minutes,
-
and then I'll let you come up for air. Okay,
-
this is the message we've heard from him. And proclaim
-
to you that God is light and in him is
-
no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship
-
with Him, while we walk in darkness, we lie and
-
do not practice the truth. But if we walk in
-
the light as He is in the light, we have
-
fellowship with one another. And the blood of Jesus's Son
-
cleanses us from sin. Y'all, we always pray for oneness
-
and the body of Christ. We talk about John chapter seventeen.
-
We talk about true unity, even in Psalms where it
-
talks about that the blessing comes when the brother the
-
brethren dwell in unity. It's like the oil dripping from
-
Aaron's beard. But if you're in darkness, you're not ever
-
going to be in true unity with the Body of Christ.
-
Because if they're in light, and they're walking in the light,
-
because they're children of light, and you choose to go
-
into darkness, you've automatically disqualified yourself from that true oneness
-
that Jesus prayed for in John seventeen. It's impossible because
-
darkness has nothing in common with light. Centuries ago, Isaac
-
Newton discovered that life light shining through a prism produced
-
a rainbow. A prism is three sided and has seven colors.
-
Interestingly enough, we see there are seven spirits of God
-
according to Revelation three to one, four, five, and five six,
-
And we see exactly what those seven spirits are. Those
-
angels on the roof. We say exactly what those spirits are.
-
In Isaiah eleven two, we see the seven spirits of God.
-
Science reveals that an atom is composed of a nucleus
-
and electrons. Even small particles, protons and neutrons make up
-
the nucleus. Particle physics has further discovered that protons and
-
neutrons are a collection of extremely small light particles called
-
gluons and mesons, which are comprised of color and anticolor.
-
They're constantly moving in and out of the quark. There
-
are six flavors of quartz. They can successfully account for
-
all known mesons and borons, over two hundred, the most
-
familiar borons for the protons and neutrons. This, this literally
-
tells us that everything literally on a cellular level of
-
an atom is made up of light, of color, and
-
it's moving. So this, even though it's solid, it literally
-
is moving and it's light. Everything is made of light.
-
Nothing that was created was not. It was not created
-
apart from light, because He is light.
-
Last point. So when you go back to.
-
Genesis and he says, let there be light, that is
-
the substance these atoms.
-
Creation is made of light from him.
-
As dan in here she was her first service.
-
Is Dean here.
-
She's an art a part of me. She's an artist
-
and understands the color wheel. And what's interesting if you
-
in Exodus twenty eight you see the breastplate of the
-
high priest.
-
There were twelve stones.
-
You also notice that when all the sons of Abraham,
-
the twelve tribes, when those twelve brothers were blessed, it
-
gives description to the characteristics of each of them, of
-
who they are. And when you take those stones, each
-
tribe has a colored stone, you also begin to get
-
definition of the color and the characteristics of them. So
-
like when you take the rainbow and you align it
-
with Isaiah eleven two, which are the seven spirits of God,
-
you actually begin to get definition of what that the
-
seventh spirits mean. So red is wisdom, purple is the
-
fear of the Lord. You actually begin to understand in
-
this term. With the mind of Christ, you start thinking
-
in terms of light and in color. And then all
-
of a sudden, now when you have a dream and
-
you see a certain color that like say, your shirt
-
is blue, why is it blue? Well, you study scripture
-
and you realize blue's revelation. You realize in the in
-
the temple, so many things were colored and covered in red,
-
and they were covered in blue. And they were given
-
specific directions to cover these items in the tabernacle in
-
these fabrics and specifically in blue. See when you're reading
-
the scriptures, you have to ask questions, why did you
-
do this, why didn't you do this?
-
And if it was important enough.
-
To you to give that type of detail to tell
-
you how to handle something, why, Because it's when you
-
ask the Lord why to these things that you actually
-
open yourself up to revelation and encountering Him. And it
-
no longer just gaining some knowledge that you can spit
-
out to somebody and look spiritual.
-
Now it's about encountering.
-
Him and being transformed by his light, be transformed by
-
His word. Revelation four five, it says around the throne
-
were twenty four thrones, and seated on the thrones were
-
twenty four elders, clothed in white garments with golden crowns
-
on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings,
-
and peals of thunder. And before the throne were burning
-
seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God.
-
And remember, God is also an all consuming fire. So
-
all of a sudden, all these descriptions our God is
-
an all consuming fire, God is light. All of a sudden,
-
you realize these things aren't metaphoric. If you're in the
-
throne room you see the seven spirits burning like a lamp.
-
You see them like a rainbow over the throne.
-
And when you see that, it says that Lucifer walked
-
in the midst of the fiery stones. You understand that
-
those two stones actually represented Jesus and the Holy Spirit,
-
and that Lucifer at one point had such intimacy with
-
the Lord. He was walking in the midst of the
-
fiery stones. He had that intensity, that closeness of intimacy
-
with the Godhead. And there's twenty four colors to a
-
color wheel, just like twenty four elders around his throne. See,
-
there's something that the Lord wants us to understand. It's
-
that we're either abiding in light or abiding in darkness.
-
And we literally anytime we try to enter into the
-
spiritual realm through illegal access, meaning any other way except
-
for Jesus, I don't care what you think you're accomplishing.
-
You're not being enlightened. You're being darkened. And when we
-
walk in the dark, we have no clue where we're walking.
-
When we hold on to hatred and unforgiveness towards our brother,
-
it says we're not walking in the truth and we're
-
lying and we're stumbling. We have nowhere, we have no
-
clue where we're headed. This is not a time, in
-
this time and history, This is not a moment for
-
us to think that God is winking at darkness, that
-
He's winking at our darkness. Every time we get that attitude,
-
you need to remember the price He paid to redeem
-
us from sin and darkness and to literally cause us
-
to be born again. When it says you're dead and
-
your trespasses and sins, your spirit wasn't radiating any light.
-
It was dead, and all of a sudden, the seed
-
of God came into you and boom your new creation.
-
And now your spirit is radiating light. And it's through
-
the spiritual disciplines of fasting and reading His word and
-
meditating on his word, and intercession and prayer and waiting
-
on him, beholding him, spending time with him that causes
-
our spirits to grow, which means the light in you
-
is growing, which in turn allows more of the Holy
-
Spirit to be in you, because He dwells inside of
-
your spirit. If you can grab a hold of the
-
reality of God being light and you being light, and
-
be conscious of the reality that everywhere you go, you're
-
actually bringing the light of life with you you have.
-
The reality is you actually can change the atmosphere whatever
-
room you walk into. You don't have to be afraid
-
of the darkness. You can say it's okay, the light
-
is here because the light is Jesus and He is
-
inside of you. When he says let your light shine,
-
that means walk in the light, Abide in the light.
-
God is light and in him is no darkness.
-
And if we're going.
-
To step into a place of unity in the body
-
of Christ and stay there, we must abide in his light.
-
It is not optional. All right, Let's stand up. Thank
-
you forgiving me grace.
