  1. You're listening to the Cross Kingdom Sermon of the week.

  2. We hope you enjoyed this message from Justin Carpenter wherever

  3. he went. Sorry I was refueling. Mm hmm oh, I

  4. might hope. Have I actually had something up here too?

  5. Huh the wind blowing off me, that's just the spiritual life.

  6. Don't strike me, Lord a real quick And in the

  7. line of appreciation, Nancy Good, where's Nancy Hood? Nancy, You're

  8. so amazing. You are literally being a testimony of what

  9. the sage season looks like. And I just bless you

  10. for that. Yeah. Teresa Whitfield. Teresa has literally organized those

  11. shipping containers with ferocity and keeping the shelves intact and

  12. like a guardian of the containers. We are so thankful

  13. for all that you and your husband have done. Bless

  14. you all so much. Uh, Corey Simpson, let me tell

  15. you something, Corey, Corey. Corey has no quit. Corey doesn't

  16. have any quit in him. And then and then, and

  17. this guy has served in the Youth Ministries department faithfully

  18. and and I mean I don't care if you asked

  19. him to go unplug a commode, he would do it.

  20. Would not complain, wouldn't give you any crap back. You

  21. know what I'm saying. So sorry, bad joke. Anyways, we

  22. love you, buddy, Thank you so much for your servant's

  23. heart and servant leadership. I'm blessed you, bless you. Christy Vic.

  24. Are you in the house, Yeah, oh, there you are.

  25. You know, there's there's a saying especially about this family.

  26. Dynamite comes in small packages, and we're so thank thankful

  27. for who y'all are. Amazing two. You could have so

  28. easily asked everyone to just leave you alone and give

  29. you time as a family to grieve, and yet here

  30. you are, in the midst of your grief serving the

  31. body of Christ, and we acknowledge that we don't take

  32. that for granted. And we love you all so much.

  33. Bless you. Oh my eyesight's bad without tears. Oh okay, tests, tests,

  34. Art and tests, y'all are amazing. Art's always ready to

  35. protect me. Anybody charge the stage better watch out going

  36. down in Jesus' name. And Tess, literally, I don't know

  37. how many times I'm like, do you need to go home?

  38. Like are you okay? Like you have just from literally

  39. like the day after the you know, July fifth. I

  40. think y'all have just been faithfully here in way above

  41. the call of duty, and we're very thankful for that.

  42. I think I'm ringing a little, but bless you so much.

  43. Thank you for serving. Gianna come home again, someone who's

  44. been navigating turbulent times, and here you are serving the

  45. body of Christ in our community. We honor you, We

  46. thank you, We love you of your family, So thankful

  47. for you, and thank you for being a part of

  48. our tribe. Quinnette, come on girl, whoo. The good men's

  49. have started running with us in the last few months,

  50. and and and again just have shown up and served.

  51. And you were a part of the clothing saga, and

  52. you got to watch my wife and I argue over

  53. what clothes we should take when we should stop bringing clothes.

  54. Have I heard the word clothes one more time? I'm

  55. gonna twitch? And yet and yet you just smiled while

  56. we bickered back and forth. But y'all are amazing and

  57. we're so thankful for you. Thank you for your hearts,

  58. thank you that you're running with us, and we just

  59. honor you this morning. Bless you, Cammy, are you, Cammy?

  60. Are you here? I'm sorry Carrie, would you read this? Yeah,

  61. where's Carrie? Yes, Carrie, Sorry, that was not my handwriting.

  62. I apologize. She has been one of the troopers here

  63. day in and day out for two weeks, and I

  64. always saw you over here organizing food, and y'all has

  65. just been an amazing uh in the midst of crisis.

  66. It's been amazing to see you and so many others serving,

  67. and we love you and we thank you. Thank you

  68. for being a part of of all of this. Now

  69. I have two more, and apparently they say thank you.

  70. So I need help with these last two because I

  71. don't want to I don't want to miss anybody. So

  72. and of course the silent, awkward silence comes. Yeah, Laurie's

  73. not here, and Julie is not here. Who am I missing?

  74. If you been helping yet? Well, Heid, he's not here either,

  75. I can Sylvia, they're out. We have a few folks

  76. out right now. Andrea, Yes, where is Andrea? She? Oh,

  77. she's in the youth. I'll put this aside for her,

  78. and then charity charity. Oh, come on, and also a

  79. huge shout out for there you are. That man's got

  80. mad skills when it comes to a Blackstone. But We're

  81. so thankful for y'all. We're thank you for your charity,

  82. charity Glass, y'all. Thank you Eric. Eric. Eric showed up

  83. in the very beginning and goes, hey, can can I

  84. just cook? And and he showed up and he started

  85. cooking and and giving burgers. And I do gotta say

  86. this because he is rocking and rolling flipping all these hamburgers.

  87. And then Joe from Bill's Barbecue shows up with briskets

  88. and Eric's like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah awesome. So absolutely,

  89. thank you y'all. This this is a marathon and I

  90. wish it would. Oh and Carrie, heflin, hello, get up here.

  91. Don't look at me like I was gonna do a

  92. dad joke, but I'm gonna be really, you know, pastoral

  93. in this moment, Carrie is another trooper who does not

  94. like to be in front of people. But we love

  95. you and we're so thankful for you. She's looking at

  96. me like I'm going to get you later, but we're

  97. thanking you've been running with us for for eight years,

  98. nine years, like you're one of the originals, one of

  99. the what was it the o G Yeah, thank you

  100. for your heart. We love you, Thank you so much.

  101. Bless you. Anybody I forgot, please forgive me. We have

  102. interhealing afterwards, we'll both be in there. But just to

  103. give you all a little update. As of yesterday, they

  104. said that people in Kerk County that are missing or

  105. down to three people. I hope and pray that's accurate.

  106. And it was from the Sheriff's department, Like all the

  107. official departments, I have been in contact with Johnny Grimes

  108. daily and I know that they they're The number of

  109. recovered bodies is one hundred and nine right now, and y'all,

  110. I mean, we're going to be shifting gears into relief

  111. and rebuilding and we'll we'll have a better idea this

  112. week where they as things kind of begin to settle

  113. and people that have come out of town go and

  114. will will begin to see a clearer picture of where

  115. we're gonna need help. And so we'll continue to do

  116. daily updates as well as supply updates and so on

  117. and so forth, and give you all opportunities to be

  118. able to serve, but pace yourselves. You'll take time. I

  119. know it's difficult in times like this to want to rest.

  120. I get it. I had one day off in a

  121. month up until I left for the worship school. And uh,

  122. but it's important that you take care of yourself because

  123. if you don't take care of yourself, you're you're not

  124. going to be any good to anybody else. And if

  125. you get so burned out that you're chopping everybody's heads off,

  126. that's not good either. So I want to do a

  127. public announcement and encourage everyone to expand your capacity of

  128. tolerance in this time because people everyone handles trauma and

  129. grief differently, and so our processes are going to bump

  130. into each other, I promise you. But I'm asking y'all

  131. to be patient with each other. Love is patient Christians thirteen. Right. So,

  132. but they've estimated that the total losses with everything included,

  133. is between eighteen and twenty two billion dollars from this disaster.

  134. You know, that includes relief efforts, power outages like that hole,

  135. the whole deal. You know, we can rebuild buildings fairly quickly,

  136. going through loss, trauma and grief takes time. We're also

  137. in the process of finding which ministries we want to

  138. connect and network with, and so then we're also going

  139. to be a distribution outlet for people getting healthy because

  140. we're not just here to meet physical needs, We're also

  141. here to meet spiritual needs. And our heart ultimately is

  142. that no one in this region ends up on the

  143. other side of this not knowing the Lord Jesus. And

  144. it's so important that we understand our eternal purpose that

  145. we're advancing the kingdom. Right. So I want to talk

  146. to you for a little bit here this morning on

  147. overcoming the storms of life. I know, same theme, but

  148. this is where we're at. This is what we're walking

  149. through right now, and I'm gonna give you some perspectives

  150. this morning on some scripture that is going to challenge

  151. you significantly. And when I mean challenge you, it it's

  152. gonna trigger strongholds, and it's you're gonna have every excuse

  153. to argue with his word. But I just want to

  154. remind you it's his word, not mine, and so please

  155. send all complaints to Sean at Cross Kingdom dot org. So, Father,

  156. I just asked, at this moment, Lord, this this teaching moment,

  157. that your word, Lord Jeremiah said, your word is like

  158. a hammer and it's like a fire. So Lord, bring

  159. the power of your word to transform our lives through

  160. your glory. This morning and Jesus Mighty name. Psalms one

  161. twenty six five says those who sow in tears shall

  162. reap shouts of joy. Though weeping endures for a night,

  163. joy will come in the morning. You know, I was.

  164. I was scrambling through three of my dream books this

  165. morning because roughly about eleven years ago, I had a

  166. dream and I thought it was a dream and not

  167. a night vision. And I was driving from hunt Ingram area,

  168. and as I'm driving down Junction Highway coming towards this way,

  169. I'm yelling to everyone to get to higher ground, that

  170. a flood is coming. And eleven years ago, literally when

  171. I had that, when I woke up from that dream,

  172. I thought, man, there's no way that's literal. There's no

  173. way our area could flood like that. And I know

  174. there was some dreams shared last week. You know, you're like, Okay, well,

  175. what's the point it still happened. Well, I can tell

  176. you that I don't always know why. And again you've

  177. heard this, but it's so true that we set in

  178. the tension of mystery at times. And if we're going

  179. to stay abiding in the Lord Jesus and advancing his kingdom,

  180. we're going to have to be okay not understanding the

  181. why at times in our life, and my heart is

  182. that we don't get trapped. Are stuck in that place

  183. of asking why many whether we like it or not,

  184. most of the time, we don't have the answer to why.

  185. I remember my own healing journey from being molested as

  186. a child. When I started that journey, I asked the

  187. Lord many times, why why did you let this happen? Lord?

  188. Do you send an angel strike a king? Why don't

  189. you kill his butt? Being honest, yeah, you're like, I

  190. don't know if I like you as our pastor anymore.

  191. But it's the truth and all of this stuff that's

  192. in our heart right now. Wherever you're at with grief,

  193. whether you're numb, whether you're angry, whether you're confused. I mean,

  194. we go through this process of emotions. I want to

  195. encourage you process, get with somebody, to process with them.

  196. Don't keep it all clammed up and buried because it

  197. will absolutely affect you. It will damn you up if

  198. you don't process. And whether you recognize or not, even

  199. if you weren't really directly affected, this has absolutely been

  200. traumatic to our entire community. Isaiah fifty nine nineteen says,

  201. so shall they fear the name of the Lord from

  202. the west and his glory from the rising of the sun.

  203. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit

  204. of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

  205. Right now, we are a part of that standard being

  206. rised up against against the enemy. Right now. Every one

  207. of you plays a significant role. Each of you are

  208. a part of the body of Christ. Every single one

  209. of you. Do not diminish what you're doing. Don't diminish

  210. this week. When you walk out of here in a

  211. little bit and we reset as a distribution center again,

  212. do not diminish your role in this community. Don't diminish

  213. your role in the body of Christ and his kingdom.

  214. The enemy would love nothing more than to get you

  215. to think that what you're doing, and how you're loving,

  216. and just the simple acts of kindness, that they don't

  217. mean anything. Why I have news for you. Jesus said

  218. that not even a cup of water, if it's given

  219. and his name will be forgotten. That means when nobody's

  220. around and you're looking, and your heart goes out to

  221. somebody and you love on them, and you minister to

  222. them this week and no one knows. All the media

  223. is gone. You can check out all mainstream media now.

  224. There's almost nothing being said about the flood. Just here

  225. and there, a little pop up. But he sees what

  226. we do to the least of them, We've done unto him.

  227. That is a very powerful, powerful scripture. Don't let the

  228. enemy lie to you and get you to believe that

  229. what you're doing is insignificant, because it is significant. There

  230. is a compounding kingdom factor. That is when we come

  231. together as the body of Christ in unity, which I'll

  232. be honest with you. As a shepherd in this region,

  233. trying to work with some other shepherds, sometimes it feels

  234. like herding cats. But overall it's been an amazing, amazing

  235. thing to watch everybody come together. I mean, last week,

  236. the independent photographer from the Washington Post, she was here

  237. and she said, I have never seen a community rally

  238. together the way your community has. Y'all. What we're doing

  239. right now by being the hands and feet of Jesus,

  240. we are literally affecting this country people from all over

  241. the country. I did an interview with NPR Radio and

  242. they eat somebody who listens to NPR was flap or

  243. just shocked that they didn't edit my interview about Jesus.

  244. I don't listen to NPR so but apparently they have

  245. a tendency to edit stuff out like that. They did.

  246. They played the whole interview. Somebody sent a twenty five

  247. hundred dollars check to the relief fund because of that interview.

  248. It's it's so important that we are leading well in

  249. this moment right now. Whether you think of yourselves as

  250. a leader or not, you are and the world is looking. Literally,

  251. this country has been watching Curville and I am so

  252. proud of our community. But we are a part of

  253. that standard. We are a part of that new swarm

  254. of cross pollination. You know, James is clear, faith without

  255. works is dead, and we're in that moments. Like I

  256. said two weeks ago, y'all, this is go time. This

  257. is what we've been equipped to do, and it's time

  258. that we keep our armor on and keep going forward.

  259. But recognizing this is a marathon, and so I want

  260. to encourage each of you to take care of yourselves.

  261. Philippians four to seven says, and the peace of God,

  262. which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts in your minds.

  263. In Christ Jesus, if you'll give up your right to

  264. understand the fruit of that is his peace. If you

  265. allow his peace, it says, let his peace rule and

  266. reign right now, in the midst of these storms, in

  267. the midst of all this loss and death and devastation.

  268. If will give up our right to know why and

  269. trust him, the result is this covering of shalom. And

  270. that shalom is what removes the chaos that causes anxiety.

  271. That peace is the weapon that you carry when you

  272. go into homes and you say peace. It's the shalom

  273. that devastates the storms of the enemy coming at you.

  274. I love the Psalms. There's so many like little hidden

  275. Messianic nuggets. And here's a scripture that you may never

  276. realized was actually fulfilled in the Gospels Psalms. When I

  277. was seven twenty nine to thirty, he made the storm

  278. be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.

  279. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and

  280. he brought them to their desired haven. It was talking

  281. of his disciples Matthew eight twenty three to twenty seven.

  282. And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him,

  283. and behold there arose a great storm on the sea,

  284. so that the boat was being swamped by the waves,

  285. but he was asleep, and they went and woke him, saying,

  286. save us, Lord, we are perishing. And he said to them,

  287. why are you afraid, oh you of little faith. Now

  288. let's paint a picture here, y'all. You have professional fishermen,

  289. professional they've been through storms, they've been fishing through craziness. Literally,

  290. they're crying out for their lives to be spared. And

  291. Jesus is asleep now. And mark It says that on

  292. that day, when evening had come, he said to them,

  293. let us go across to the other side, and leaving

  294. the crowd, they took him with them in the boat

  295. just as he was, and other boats were with him,

  296. and a great windstorm arose and the waves were breaking

  297. into the boat, so that the boat was already filling,

  298. But he was asleep in the stern on a cushion.

  299. So reality check, massive windstorm boats are filled, literally filling

  300. up with water. Jesus is probably about to blow bubbles

  301. on his cushion. The disciples wake up, I mean they're awake, Sorry,

  302. they're wide awake, and they wake him up like hey,

  303. there's a storm. Hello, Jesus, will you do something? We're

  304. gonna die here. And he has the audacity to say,

  305. why are you afraid? Lord? You realize the water is

  306. like right here on you right, we're about to go

  307. under All the other boats they've already peed their pants.

  308. They're scared to death. They're losing it. Lord, it's all

  309. we're about to lose it. And he says, why are

  310. you afraid, oh, you of little faith? The audacity of

  311. the King of Glory to talk to them about a

  312. level of faith when their boat's about to go underwater literally,

  313. and he is not pretending to be asleep, but he

  314. is asleep. But in that Second Gospel and Mark he

  315. already told them what was gonna happen. He said, let

  316. us go across to the other side. See other moments

  317. where we don't have clarity. There are moments where his

  318. word is a lamp unto our feet, like what she's

  319. doing there, and then a light unto our path, and

  320. those prophetic seasons like right now, it's like we have

  321. just enough light to take the next step. Hit he

  322. is a lamp onto our path, right now, onto our feet.

  323. And then there's moments where we can prophetically see off

  324. into the future. It's like John sixteen where he says

  325. he'll show us things to come, and all of a

  326. sudden we have vision way out. But our testing, our

  327. growth comes when we're in those valley seasons. Like what

  328. Kylie talked about. There's something forged inside of us in

  329. the midst of suffering, the sufferings of Christ. There's something

  330. forged inside of us, of eternal purpose that literally produces

  331. fruit that you would never get any other way. So

  332. they're losing their stuff, and he rebukes the storm, and

  333. I might remind you, we know that storm didn't come

  334. from the Lord, because if Jesus rebuked the storm, he

  335. was just guilty of rebelling against his father. So not

  336. every storm that comes. Sometimes people theologically have a perception that,

  337. you know, because of God's sovereignty, everything comes from him,

  338. and that's just thinking thinking, that's not the mind of Christ.

  339. John ten ten. The enemy came to steal, kill, and destroy,

  340. but Jesus came to give us life and give it

  341. more abundantly. And so when the storms of life, when

  342. the enemy comes in like a flood, he raises a

  343. standard and in that moment we have a choice to make.

  344. Are we going to be a part of the standard?

  345. Are we going to be washed away in the storm?

  346. Now I understand that that's some of that context with

  347. what we just went through is not literal. But for

  348. us we have to grab a hold of God's logic.

  349. It says, as high as the heavens are above the earth,

  350. so his ways are above our ways. Another way of

  351. saying that is, his logic is so much higher than

  352. our logic, it seems illogical. Are you with me and

  353. our spiritual capacity to praise Him in the midst of

  354. loss when seemingly the enemy had his way for a

  355. moment is no easy task. And just like the disciples

  356. in the boat that's filling up with water and the

  357. other boats are around, we can get mad at God

  358. for being at peace. Lord, do you not see Kerville? Lord?

  359. Why do you not see what's happening? Y'all? Like, let's

  360. get real here. We're going through a turbulent, turbulent time

  361. that's difficult, and there's no way we're not wrestling with

  362. these different emotions and in the midst of us living

  363. in this tow and not understanding why in the world

  364. our community has been hit so flipping hard living in

  365. that tension. There's a gift of peace in the midst

  366. of it. And one day, as believers, we know that

  367. He's gonna wipe every tier away. There'll be no more loss,

  368. There'll be no more death. It says, death, where is

  369. your sting? All of this will pass away, y'all. One

  370. thing we do as a family every day is my

  371. family is we're consistent and focused on telling each other

  372. that we love each other, because you never know. I mean,

  373. when I got that text Thursday night that Doug Guard

  374. had passed away, I was just like, are you kidding me?

  375. I was studying in a Bethel session at the worship school.

  376. He was just with us Christmas Eve at my house,

  377. And in that moment, words can't fix the pain. The

  378. only way that immediate pain goes away is if you

  379. had them back. And yet in the midst of this

  380. life dealing with these trials and tribulations and the enemy

  381. coming in and overplaying his hand and doing these things,

  382. and then us not always being able to connect all

  383. these divine dots because we don't even have the capacity

  384. to process like that, we can be like, Lord, are

  385. you serious? Are you? Yeah? I'm afraid. See, if he

  386. didn't call us to live in the impossible, he says,

  387. With man, nothing's possible, but with God, all things are possible.

  388. If he didn't put his spirit inside of us, we

  389. would not have the capacity or the ability to even

  390. rise up to where he's calling us. Are you all

  391. with me? Like you have the hope of glory living

  392. inside of you? The God of the universe, who created everything,

  393. literally dwells inside of each and every one of you.

  394. And it's in moments like this that seem Lord, are

  395. you kidding me? Doubt? Are you the boats filled with water?

  396. We begin to wrestle with him. We begin to wrestle

  397. with the Lord like Jacob, And I promise you if

  398. you don't quit, you don't give up. You keep wrestling

  399. until you land into that place with Him where you

  400. need to be. You might walk with a limp on

  401. the other side of this thing, but you're going to

  402. be forged with Jesus inside of you. You're going to

  403. look so much more like him, and you're going to

  404. walk into a place with this crazy level of peace

  405. that makes no sense when chaos is all around. We

  406. are being called up right now, in this moment we're

  407. being challenged, we're being invited to a maturation process. We're

  408. being invited to step into Him to such a degree

  409. that even if the boat fills up, we can stay

  410. at peace. And when we see a storm that's not

  411. coming from him, we step into a realm of authority

  412. that commands peace to come and remove the chaos. Now

  413. that may be you later this week going into a

  414. home and then because you responded to a need where

  415. somebody needs a refrigerator or a microwave, but you're bringing

  416. much more than an appliance. You're bringing the good news.

  417. You're bringing the hope of glory. You're letting a family

  418. know that one day, if they know the Lord, that

  419. they'll be able to be reunited with their loved ones.

  420. On the other side of this thing, the enemy is

  421. gonna wish he never touched us. And I'm not saying

  422. that lightly. On the other side of this thing, because

  423. the justice of God is coming and the outpouring of

  424. His spirit for a harvest is on its way happening,

  425. and He is going to turn this thing around. It's

  426. not going to remove our grieving, it's not going to

  427. remove question marks. But one day we're all going to

  428. be with him, and every tear will be wiped away.

  429. There'll be no more grieving, there'll be no more loss.

  430. And I know that's not easy to like. I'm not

  431. expecting those words to make everything, you know, like a

  432. sitting on a cloud playing a harp, because we're going

  433. through a really difficult time. But it's his word, he said.

  434. He put his word above his name, y'all. It's his

  435. word that we hold onto in this moment. It's the

  436. promises of God that we hold on to to bring comfort.

  437. One more scripture and I'll begin to land. This is

  438. Matthew fourteen. Immediately he made the disciples get into the

  439. boat and go before him to the other side. Well,

  440. he dismissed the crowds. And after he had dismissed the crowds,

  441. he went up on the mountain by himself to pray.

  442. When evening came, he was there alone. But the boat

  443. by this time was a long way from the land,

  444. beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them.

  445. I don't know about y'all, but if I was the disciples,

  446. I think I'd just start taking the long way around,

  447. like a nice hike for fifteen miles around that water like,

  448. all right, Lord, I'm good. Had enough of these encounters now.

  449. And the fourth watch of the night he came to them.

  450. But it says that but the boat by this time

  451. was long away from the land, beaten by the waves,

  452. for the wind was against them. And then the fourth

  453. watch of the night he came to them walking on

  454. the sea. The reason why the Lord can put such

  455. a crazy demand on us is because he is the

  456. creator of the universe, and he's not telling us to

  457. go do something on our own. He's saying, the very

  458. spirit that rose Jesus from the dead dwells inside of you,

  459. and you pull on his strength and his strength alone,

  460. and that's why I can put a demand on your

  461. life for the impossible. And in the fourth watch of

  462. the night he came to them walking on the sea.

  463. But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea,

  464. they were terrified and said, it is a ghost, and

  465. they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying,

  466. take heart his eye, do not be afraid. And Peter

  467. answered him, Lord, if it's you, command me to come

  468. to you on the water. And he said come. So

  469. Peter got out of the boat and walked on the

  470. water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind,

  471. he was afraid and beginning to sink. He cried out, Lord,

  472. save me. Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took

  473. hold of him, saying to him, oh, you of little faith,

  474. why did you doubt? And when they got I guarantee

  475. the other disciples weren't trash talking because they didn't get

  476. out of that boat walking on water. He did. I

  477. love Peter. He gives me so much hope. The guy

  478. that chopped an ear off is also the same guy

  479. that walked on water. He says, save me. Jesus reached

  480. out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, oh,

  481. you of little faith, why did you doubt? And when

  482. they got in the boat, the wind ceased, and those

  483. in the boat worshiped him, saying, truly you are the

  484. son of God. So here we go reality check. Another

  485. crazy storm, not from the Lord. They're they're just ah,

  486. just rowing getting after it and can't make any can't

  487. get there, can't get across. Jesus is up on the

  488. mountain praying is like man, those boys only made it

  489. about two miles in the last six hours. I bet,

  490. I bet you their arms are tired. Let me go

  491. check on them walking that walking on the water, because

  492. remember it says that the waves were contrary, so you

  493. had wave and then between the waves, wave and then

  494. between the waves. And Jesus said, Lord, if it's really you,

  495. command me to come out. And I've shared this before.

  496. But he gets out of the boat, and Jesus is

  497. walking on top of the water, which means he's walking

  498. on tip the waves and then between the waves. Peter's

  499. walking on top of the waves and between the waves,

  500. and he's watching Jesus and he sees him as he

  501. crests the top of the waves. But when Jesus goes

  502. between the waves and Peter goes between the waves, now

  503. all he can see is the wave. The only thing

  504. he can see in that moment is the storm, and

  505. fear rises up in sight of him because his eyes

  506. are no longer on Jesus, it's on the storm because

  507. the waves were contrary. So here's Jesus, here's Peter, here's Jesus,

  508. here's Peter. Maybe they were together and sink sorry and

  509. uh that's a band for you young us old people,

  510. and up and down and up and down, and he's like,

  511. why'd you doubt you were doing so good? Y'all, keep

  512. your eyes on Jesus as we go through this storm,

  513. because if you take your eye off of Him, the grief,

  514. the death, and the loss has the capability of taking

  515. you out. This is not a joke. Keep your eyes

  516. on the author and finisher of your faith. Give up

  517. your right to understand in this moment and allow his

  518. peace to be a weapon over your heart and your mind.

  519. Are you with me? And then ask the Lord for

  520. strength to step into the impossible and say, Lord, I

  521. want justice. I want to see your justice, because your

  522. throne is built on righteousness and justice according to his word,

  523. and I want to see justice come to our area. Lord,

  524. I want to see you pour out your spirit and

  525. such a measure that this entire county comes to know

  526. Jesus and that that big ol' seventy seven foot cross

  527. that we're all under the lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  528. And as we choose right now in this season to

  529. live our life for him to take up our cross daily,

  530. give up our right to understand and pursue him, we

  531. will be a part of that standard that he is

  532. raising up from the flood that the enemy brought in,

  533. because make no mistake, that flood did not come from

  534. the Lord. But the enemy is going to pay and

  535. the and the Lord will see to it. I promise

  536. you he will make all things together for the good.

  537. Is it all gonna be coming back? Are we gonna

  538. get everybody back? No? And And that is a that

  539. that is that part we don't have the answer to.

  540. That is the part that we grieve and we mourn.

  541. And in the midst of that, he draws near. It

  542. says that he's close to the broken heart. And it

  543. says that he takes every one of our tears and

  544. puts it in a bottle. So we weep with those

  545. who weep, We mourn with those who mourn, and we

  546. lock arms as his bride, as his dread champions, as

  547. David's mighty men, Gideon's three hundred. We lock arms together,

  548. and we be a part of the standard that he

  549. is raising in our community to be the answer so

  550. that people can have hope. He's still the God of hope.

  551. He's still the hope of glory that we carry inside

  552. of us. And I just want to encourage y'all that

  553. says that those that wait for the Lord will renew

  554. their strength. They will mount up with wings like an eagle.

  555. They will run and not grow weary, and they will

  556. walk and not faint. And it says that in Isaiah

  557. that he is actively working on the behalf of those

  558. that wait for him. So even in the silence, even

  559. in the grief, he is actively working everything together for

  560. our good. And there's so many areas right now we're like, Lord,

  561. I don't even get this. I don't even understand how

  562. in the world could this be worked out for our good.

  563. But he's doing it. He's doing it. And one day,

  564. one day, we're all going to join that massive table

  565. of the Lord in eternity, and there'll be no more pain,

  566. no more sorrow, no more death. It says Jesus himself

  567. will literally be the light. We won't even need the

  568. sun or moon, because the Lamb is the light. Y'all.

  569. This is reality. The lamb is inside of you. The

  570. light of the world is inside of you. You're carrying

  571. this light for such a time as this, this this

  572. is Acts seventeen says that he preordained the very time

  573. and history that we would live, and even our exact

  574. dwelling places are boundaries of our life. So none of

  575. you are here by mistake, none of you are here

  576. by accident. There is destiny over your life, and there

  577. is an invitation in this moment for us to continue

  578. to lock arms and be the hands and feet of

  579. Jesus in the midst of mystery. Let me read this

  580. last scripture, and I'd ask the prayer teams to come

  581. up in Micah, my son, wherever you are, would you

  582. come on the oh, would you get on the keys

  583. for me? Please? Yeah, I know you're right there. I

  584. should give you hope. You don't have to be super sharp.

  585. Isaiah sixty one one to four says this, The spirit

  586. of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord

  587. has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.

  588. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted,

  589. to proclaim liberty to the captain, and the opening of

  590. the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the

  591. year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance

  592. of our God. To comfort all those who mourn, To

  593. grant to those who mourn in Kurville in Zion, to

  594. give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil

  595. of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise, instead

  596. of a faint spirit. Anybody felt like that a faint

  597. spirit lately, that they would be called oaks of righteousness,

  598. the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.

  599. They shall build up the ancient ruins, they shall raise

  600. up from the former devastations. They shall repaired. They shall

  601. repair the ruined cities and the devastation of many generations.

  602. Y'all say this with me, not on my watch. I

  603. will not quit, I will not give up. I will

  604. pursue him with every breath I take until he brings

  605. me home for his kingdom, his glory, and his honor. So, Father,

  606. I ask, oh, it's okay, sorry, you're all right. Command

  607. he keeps going. So, Father, I just ask right now,

  608. in the mighty name of Jesus, Lord, do what only

  609. you can do. We can do nothing apart from you, Lord.

  610. We lift up all of those people that have gone

  611. through this loss, that don't know you. In this moment,

  612. the loss up to you in this region, and we

  613. asked that you would save them. Father, we lift up

  614. all of the families that have lost loved one's. Lord,

  615. I lift up my friend Brooke who had to do

  616. a double funeral for her sister and brother in law. Lord,

  617. we lift up the guard family, his kids, his loved one's. Lord,

  618. we continue to pray for peace and comfort and strength

  619. over our beautiful ciphered family. Jesus, you're the only one

  620. and bring beauty for hashes. You're the only one that

  621. can turn our mourning into joy. You're the only one

  622. that can heal the trauma and the grief. Lord Jesus,

  623. I ask that you would show yourself strong on our behalf,

  624. that we would continue to be a beacon of light,

  625. carrying the eternal Gospel of the Kingdom, which is the

  626. power unto salvation. Lord, I asked that you would strengthen

  627. the gifts that you've placed in each inside of each

  628. person here this morning, That you would cause your oil

  629. to increase in their lives. Lord, that you knock the

  630. callouses off our souls and expand our spirits for yours.

  631. Or that you would give us that warrior mindset in

  632. the season, Lord, where we have our swords drawn. We

  633. have a We're like Nea Mayah in this our Lord.

  634. We've got a hammer in one hand, building and we

  635. have a sword in the other to cut the enemy's throat.

  636. So Lord, solidify the mind of Christ and your heart

  637. and each and every one of us in the mighty

  638. name of Jesus. Amen. Thank you for listening. For more
