You're listening to the Cross Kingdom Sermon of the Week.
-
We hope you enjoyed this message from Justin Carpenter.
-
Oh well, oh, so, as I was saying, I'm thankful
-
to be up and about at least, I got sick
-
with the flu last Friday, and uh, unfortunately I got
-
hit Monday. And I'll tell you what, y'all, I rarely
-
ever get sick ever, and I felt like crap.
-
I mean just it was bad.
-
And somebody said, well, did you go get tested? Like
-
why I'm sick. I don't need them to tell me
-
I'm sick. I know how I feel and I'm not.
-
I'm not adding to the uh the c game.
-
That was free.
-
So so I will sound a little bit like Charles
-
Bronson as I teach. And because I'm getting over my
-
last little bit of drainage and cough, you know, I
-
I've been asking the Lord this week. I had had
-
a lot of time to sit home, obviously sleep a bunch,
-
and I was like, Lord, what is it specifically about
-
Charlie Kirk? Because we have Martyredom happen every day in
-
this earth. It's just we have been hedged in in
-
the United States from it. But he wasn't just assassinated.
-
He literally just lost two million dollars a year in
-
support because he wouldn't back off talking about Jesus everywhere
-
he goes.
-
And so he was martyred, period. And uh. And you know,
-
I know all.
-
Sorts of zillions of conspiracies are flying around, but I
-
will tell you that.
-
It intrigues me. There's I don't.
-
Ask the Lord for revelation on a lot of things,
-
like I could care less about always talking about like
-
the political prophets drive me nuts.
-
I'm sorry.
-
And because our primary job is not about politics, It's
-
it's about the equipping of the saints. So that means
-
if I'm a prophet, then I better be equipping you
-
to hear the voice of the Lord for yourself, not
-
to follow me. And but I've been I was asking
-
the Lord. I said, Lord, I don't ask you a
-
lot about political stuff. And I'm like, but what is
-
it about Charlie that you that you've chosen to move
-
Because what's happening right now in the United States, in
-
this moment and even around the globe is way bigger
-
than Charlie Kirk. And you know, the scripture says unless
-
the seed dies and goes into the ground. You've heard
-
that scripture before, and revival is built on the blood
-
of the martyrs. It is, And I keep asking him.
-
I haven't gotten a real clear answer, but I do
-
know this, and I don't mean to sound cheesy or cliche,
-
but I do believe that there is a prophetic word
-
to this nation in the name of His organization, and
-
that is turning point for the United States. And I
-
believe that wholeheartedly God speaks. He speaks in one way
-
or in another, and we don't always get it. Sometimes
-
he speaks with a big chief coloring book, and I
-
think this is one of those moments where the Lord
-
is speaking to us. I believe that it is imperative
-
that we respond as a nation to this invitation of
-
the Lord of repentance, because if we don't, we will
-
end up in civil unrest, and that's exactly what the
-
enemy would love. And as the body of Christ, we
-
need to be bold, like so many people that are
-
waking up in this hour and saying they're going to
-
be bold for their faith, because the only way we
-
have a true turning.
-
Point back to the Lord Jesus Christ is if.
-
The Church stands up and becomes bold as a lion
-
and speaks the truth and love and takes back our
-
schools and takes back these government positions, and we actually
-
be the light and salt that He's called us to
-
be and stop giving a flip about the fear of man.
-
But the only way that this invitation that I believe
-
is a sovereign invitation in this moment of the Lord.
-
The only way we don't pass this by is if we.
-
Actually take our relationship individual relationship with Jesus serious, and
-
that we allow his fire to come and purge us,
-
that we would be set on fire and stewart that
-
first love. The world is sick and tired of seeing
-
people talk about God but then not show God in
-
their life.
-
And we all fall short, we all stumble.
-
We all have moments where a spirit of stupid comes
-
over us and we repent from it and move forward.
-
But the days of playing games are over.
-
Like the Church has got to wake up, stay awake
-
and watch and pray and understand the moment that we're in.
-
Understand that the shakings, the birth pains. Whether you think
-
you're leaving on Tuesday or not, the birth pains are
-
getting intense, are they not? I mean, you got to
-
be a special kind of dole to not recognize that
-
everything that can be shaken is being shaken right now.
-
I want to encourage you in these birth pains. And
-
it says, don't think it's strange that these fiery trials
-
come on your life. But why is it we always
-
seem so surprised that we're in another trial?
-
Are we not?
-
I'm like, lately here, I've been like, Lord, can I
-
just get a little break? I mean, just, you know,
-
can can we take a break from shaking bake for
-
like a week or something. I just need to get
-
a little recovery time. And next thing, you know, it's
-
like something else crazy happens, y'all. And he says, count
-
it all, joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of
-
various kinds. I love that word because the Greek word
-
is poikilos and it means multicolored. So count it all, joy,
-
my brothers, when you meet trials of multi colored kinds.
-
For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness,
-
and let steadfastness have its full effect, and that you
-
may be perfect, in complete, and lacking nothing. So when
-
we act surprised and go into intercessory whining because we're
-
being tested again. We're telling the Lord that we do
-
not want to be complete and we want.
-
To be in lack. You're like, last night what I said,
-
But that's what.
-
You're saying when you don't yield to that scripture and
-
take joy in your testings. My wife's looking at me
-
like are you listening? Yes, I'm not always joyous in
-
my testings. I got a phone call Friday night from
-
the Kerrville I mean the Kirk County Sheriff's Department.
-
Y'all, we've gone through enough. I'm a little shell shocked
-
right now. I pick up the phone.
-
They're like, yes, this is the Kirk County Sheriff's Department.
-
I'm like, Lord, Jesus have mercy. Is this mister Justin Carpenter.
-
I was like, yes it is. Are you the owner
-
of a two thousand and four Chevy trail Blazer. I'm
-
like yes, And they're like, well, your vehicle's been hit
-
and it's in the parking lot at Ingram And I'm like, well,
-
my son Micah was driving it is he?
-
How's he?
-
And she goes, could I have Micah's cell phone number.
-
That was her response to me, not like I don't
-
know or he wasn't driving or anything like that. So
-
I may have overreacted emotionally a little bit, and that
-
not to her. But when I got off the phone
-
and I hear my wife in the background, you know,
-
kind of like the Holy Spirit, Well that was an overreaction.
-
I'm like, yes, I know, my nerves are un end
-
Then I get down there only to find out some
-
sweet young teenage girl in a big pickup truck with
-
a grill guard didn't know how to park. Then she
-
smoked the back of the trailblazer and crunched the metal.
-
I was like, I would have thought she'd back off
-
a little bit after she heard the you know, the
-
plastic and glass break, but giving her all, she's got captain,
-
And so I was not joyful in that moment. Lord,
-
thank you for.
-
This phone call. Thank you.
-
I went down there and my wife's like, you'd be
-
nice to that little she's a teenager, and I'm like, huh,
-
I'm not gonna get upset. I already had my moment
-
and got down there, and then the Ingram police officer
-
proceeds to tell me he can't do anything as is
-
on private property, which is not exactly the correct legal
-
information of my understanding. Correct, that's not true, right, or
-
that is true? Okay, I thought he was trying to
-
blow smoke up my shorts or something. You know, you
-
thought I was gonna say, skirt. That stuff don't work
-
in this house. You know what I'm saying. I'm gonna
-
keep going. I'm already in a ditch now, all right, folks.
-
So anyways, but.
-
We're not supposed to believe or we're not supposed to
-
think that it's strange that our.
-
Faith is being tested.
-
The Lord is way more interested in your transformation and
-
your holiness than he is you being comfortable. And we
-
have taught a gospel that doesn't have a whole lot
-
of cost in the Western Church, and now we're beginning
-
to see a faith.
-
That actually cost us something.
-
Now we're beginning to see a little bit of pushback.
-
Which I've said for years, persecution was coming to the us,
-
and that you better be ready, and that you better
-
understand the sufferings of Christ because the enemy is not
-
going to roll over. Remember, in the Last Days it
-
says gross darkness will cover the people. It's going to
-
cover the people. Are we seeing gross darkness in our
-
faith right now? But the glory of the knowledge of
-
the Lord will cover the earth, or the knowledge of
-
the glory.
-
Of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters
-
cover the sea. So it's bittersweet, But what's going to guarantee.
-
Your longevity is what side of coin you decide to
-
stay focused on, Because if you, as a believer, decide
-
to stay focused on the side of gross darkness covering
-
the people, then you will be a casualty of war
-
because you will allow the lawlessness of men to become
-
your teacher in these last days, and you will get
-
offended with God and forget his goodness, And that is
-
exactly what the enemy would love to happen. And the
-
reality is, we've got to become unoffendable in this hour.
-
And the only way we're going to become unoffendable in
-
this hour is to allow his fire to burn, for
-
his purifying fire to come over us, and not resist it,
-
yield to his transformational fiery love. Our God is a
-
jealous God and he is an all consuming fire, and
-
we need to know the difference between holy fire and
-
strange fire, because there's a lot of counterfeit fires out
-
there in this hour. There's a lot of counterfeit, y'all.
-
When Jesus started talking about doctrines of demons seducing spirits,
-
and that there would be false prophets and false teachers,
-
we're living in that day that he was talking about
-
wolf's and sheep's clothing, and when they smile, you see
-
wolf teeth and not sheep teeth. In fact, I think
-
I got a couple of puncture wounds in the backside.
-
Didn't mean to give you that visualization, But John three
-
to eight. This week, i'd been reading again and listening
-
to Artie Kendall's book on Holy Fire that came out
-
about at least ten years ago.
-
It was actually written.
-
In response to John MacArthur's Strange Fire Book if you
-
remember the clashes of the fires back then. But one
-
of the chapters starts out with John three to eight,
-
and it says, the wind blows where it wishes, and
-
you hear it sound, but you do not know where
-
it comes from or where it goes. So it is
-
with everyone who's born of the spirit. And this is
-
obviously Jesus talking to Nicodemus in context and he's addressing
-
the issue of the Holy Spirit, and it says, the
-
wind blows where it pleases.
-
Do you understand that.
-
You can't make the wind blow in the direction that
-
you want. No matter how much desire you have in
-
your heart for something in this planet, you cannot make
-
it God's will.
-
If it's not.
-
You can't direct the wind. You can't direct the direction
-
of the Holy Spirit. It blows where it pleases. He
-
shows up in his sovereignty when he decides, and when
-
he moves sovereignly, nothing can stop it. When he shows
-
up with moves of God, revivals of the past, it
-
was holy fire. People got uncomfortable because in the midst
-
of that holy fire, their unholiness got exposed. But make
-
no mistake, as God draws closer, you begin to feel
-
the heat turning up. You begin to recognize the things
-
that you thought you were getting away with in your
-
past that now it's in your face, and He, as
-
a loving father, is asking for you to deal with it.
-
We can lie to ourselves, we can fool our spouses,
-
we can fool our kids, or fool our friends, but
-
you're never going to fool the Lord. Aw Tozer said,
-
if the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today,
-
ninety five percent of what we do would go on
-
and no one would know the difference. The question for
-
you this morning is how much in your life is
-
actually of the Holy Spirit? And if He stopped hovering
-
over your life and moving through you, how much of
-
your activity would cease versus just continue on as it
-
always has, and it's got Jesus sprinkles on it.
-
How much of Oh Lord, your will not mine is truly.
-
Reality when it comes down to us living the rest
-
of the one hundred and sixty some hours a week.
-
How much of Jesus do you actually need to show
-
up in your life each day? How dangerous are you living?
-
And when I say dangerous, I mean dangerous to the enemy.
-
There was a season of my life my wife did
-
not like going out in public with me. She does now,
-
but I think, but I wouldn't. I just I I was.
-
I had my spiritual gun loaded, and I was I
-
was ready.
-
I was always looking, and.
-
I'd grab a hold of people in the street and
-
start praying for them, and and and Lisa is like, hun,
-
we're on a date night. Can you can you just
-
like focus on me a little bit?
-
Right now.
-
And you know, you look back on your life as
-
as your history with the Lord, and and you see
-
moments where you were on fire, an unquenchable fire in
-
your life. But then you see moments where you felt
-
like you were just trying to get through. One of
-
the dangers that we face in this local region in
-
this moment is that if we don't take care of
-
our emotional spiritual health in this season, many of us
-
will find ourselves shipwrecked trying to deal with trauma that
-
we weren't willing to deal with upfront. Y'all, this whole
-
area has been affected horribly by things, and we must
-
understand that. Whether you think it has affected you or not,
-
it has affected you. And I want to encourage you
-
to get a tune up, get a tune up, get
-
some prayer ministry, whether it's with us or we've partnered
-
with another ministry, and for inner healing. And I mean,
-
don't blow off that damning up that can happen. You
-
may not recognize it in this moment, but I promise
-
you anything you don't deal with, you'll begin to see
-
symptoms of In numbers twenty six sixty one, it says,
-
but Nadab and a buy who died when they offered
-
unauthorized fire before the Lord. We want to stay away
-
from strange fire. John Wesley said, I set myself on
-
fire and people come and watch me burn. Is there
-
enough evidence in your life right now that if people
-
get around.
-
You, they actually see Jesus.
-
You know it can't help, but you sit there and
-
you really begin to think about legacy when in moments
-
like this and when you it's it's interesting as people pass,
-
you know, the different levels of influence that people have
-
on this earth.
-
I don't know about you, but.
-
I want to leave the greatest impact for Jesus I
-
possibly can. Charlie and his wife they had a saying
-
they wanted to pop overpopulate Heaven. That was their goal,
-
to overpopulate, right. I'm sorry, make Keaven crowded. I knew
-
I was close, but make Heaven crowded. That that was
-
their family motto, make Heaven crowded. The only way you
-
make Heaven crowded is if you have a boldness and
-
you're actually speaking the gospel, which is the power under salvation.
-
So here's another challenge. When was the last time you
-
shared the gospel with somebody in your life.
-
Think about it.
-
When was the last time you shared Jesus with somebody?
-
Y'all?
-
We can go months, if not years, without sharing the
-
Gospel and not even recognize it because we're so comfortable,
-
and we can get into our fellowship bubbles to where
-
Like for me, because of my calling, I'm always around believers,
-
like I gotta go look for unbelievers to get around
-
because I'm constantly surrounded by believers, recognizing that if I'm
-
not intentional in my life, then all I'm never around
-
lost people, like seven days a week. I mean, some
-
believers may be acting like they're lost, but they're still believers.
-
There's a there's a Hebrew word and it's uh salak,
-
and it means to rush, and the verb of this
-
rush it also means to cleave, penetrate, and then advance,
-
so or another definition breakout, come, mightily, go over, be
-
good to meet, and it comes from a primitive word
-
to be profitable. So when you see that word rush,
-
the Holy Spirit rushed upon Saul, or the whole Holy
-
Spirit rushed upon David, or the Holy Spirit rushed upon Sampson,
-
over and over and over, you see that terminology that
-
he rushed upon Sampson. It literally means to cleave, penetrate,
-
and then advance. So what needs to happen when you
-
have moments where the Holy Spirit comes upon you?
-
What is the goal there?
-
It's for him to get more a hold of you
-
so that he can advance through you. He wants to
-
cleave to you Judge Is fourteen six. Then the spirit
-
of the Lord rushed upon him, and although he had
-
nothing in his hand, he tore the lion in pieces,
-
as one tears a young goat. But he did not
-
tell his father or his mother what he had done. Judges,
-
fourteen six. I'll never forget the time I did that
-
at Lisa just could not believe her eyes.
-
The point of this is.
-
That anytime you see in scripture the Holy Spirit coming
-
upon someone, something supernatural happens.
-
That you can't make happen.
-
How much are we doing in our own strength and saying,
-
oh Jesus, would you bless this instead of putting ourselves
-
allowing him to put us into positions to where if
-
he does not move, nothing happens. Like where you're literally going, Lord,
-
if you don't show up, nothing is going to happen.
-
Right now? Is that scare anybody.
-
Guess what, that's where we're supposed to be. How does
-
he get glory if we're doing stuff that we can
-
do in and of our own strength. It's like him
-
talking to Israel and say, hey, the first three or
-
four enemies you can take out in your own strength,
-
but there are seven greater and mightier than you, and
-
you can't take them out without me. And this is
-
where people get stuck in their destiny. They get past
-
that third enemy of their life that they've been able
-
to take out in their strength with.
-
The Lord.
-
Because of the way the Lord wired them and gifted them.
-
But then when they come up against the last seven,
-
they stop. They stall because they don't want to fully
-
yield to the lordship of Jesus and then allow him
-
to take out those enemies that you can't take out.
-
And if you want to live in the abundant life,
-
and you want to live in the fullness of your inheritance,
-
then you have got to take out the enemies of
-
your inheritance that you can't do in your own strength.
-
But we have been and sold the bag of goods
-
with a theology in the United States that says us
-
first and Jesus helps.
-
I don't know about, y'all.
-
I'm sick and tired of not living exactly the way
-
Jesus said we're supposed to live, Like, when is the
-
reality of greater things than this?
-
You will do? Because I go to the Father.
-
Y'all, we're still trying to get back to acts, let
-
alone get past it.
-
Are we not?
-
When's the last time somebody walked by your shadow and
-
was healed? I mean, I cast a pretty decent sized
-
shadow for my five foot eight size. But so I
-
want you to find your anointing today. Are you wearing
-
a construction hat? It's rough out there, isn't it. What's
-
you say? I got a bit. Isaiah forty four to
-
three says, for I will pour water on him who
-
is thirsty? Are you thirsty? And floods on a dry ground.
-
I will pour my spirit on your descendants, and my
-
blessing on your offspring. Jesus said to them, peace be
-
with you, as the Father has sent me, even so
-
I'm sending you. And when he said this, he breathed
-
on them and said, received the Holy Spirit. John twenty, y'all,
-
I've just gotten to the point lately where I am
-
it says godliness with contentment is great gain. But I'm
-
getting back that holy hunger for more where i am
-
not satisfied with where I'm at in my life with
-
the Lord.
-
And that's.
-
It's our responsibility as priests to keep the wick trimmed
-
so we can burn bright.
-
And it's time, y'all like it. Playtime is over.
-
The seasons of us just being laxadative about things is
-
over like this. This is frontline battle line time. It is,
-
it really is, and you better understand the time we're
-
living in.
-
RT.
-
Kendall says, the hardest thing with discovering your anointing is
-
coming to terms with your limits.
-
How many people you know can't stay in their lane.
-
Do you know how much less arguments we would have
-
if people would just stay in their lanes, if you
-
would honor what God's given somebody's responsibility over in their
-
life and not try to go there uninvited and try
-
to tell them how to do everything because you know
-
how to do everything. That's not humility, that's arrogance. One
-
of the best ways to know of your call to
-
do something is by invitation, not by self promotion. And
-
I promise you you'll hold on to that principle that
-
when doors begin to open because of the favor of God,
-
you'll know the timing of God versus you becoming a
-
master social media marketer and presenting yourself to be some
-
sort of expert in something.
-
God has set apart.
-
Each individual to function under the anointing in a unique way.
-
And and when we are under.
-
An identity crisis, we tend to try and clone the
-
other people's anointing. There's an authentic expression of the anointing
-
that each of you have been given, and it's released
-
when you live from your true identity in Christ. In
-
other words, don't try to walk in somebody else's shoes.
-
I said this first service.
-
Shawn's always got his shoes off right, and those are
-
some massive size nine and a half's right there. And
-
so if my son Micah, who's six foot two, got
-
up here and tried to put his feet in my shoes,
-
he blow him out. He looked like a hobbit. And
-
if I try to get in his boots, I'd go
-
water skiing. He can't walk in my shoes and I
-
can't walk in his. We've each been given our own
-
path to walk in. Do understand that if you're trying
-
to imitate somebody else, look like them, act like them,
-
walk like them, that means that you believe your inferior
-
and what God created you to do is not as
-
significant as this other person. And all of a sudden,
-
now the body is dysfunctional because the hand wants to
-
be afoot when it was designed to be a hand.
-
And then you wonder why there's no favor in movement
-
in your life, because the Lord's simply trying to get
-
you to get rid of the self rejection and start
-
loving yourself for who He created you to be, so
-
then he can breathe his anointing on your authenticity, because
-
you have been each created to express a unique part
-
of who God is his nature, to show to the
-
world who the Father is uniquely, and no one else
-
can do what He's called each of you individually to do,
-
as well as yourself. Each are given a measure of
-
faith Romans twelve three. What are you doing with the
-
measure of faith you've been given this morning? How are
-
you stuarding your measure of faith? What are you doing
-
with it? How are you making your faith grow today?
-
How are you flexing your faith muscles so that what
-
you have right now more will be given later, because
-
the principle of the kingdom is what you start, what
-
you stuart will grow. Are you willing to stewart with
-
the little things or do you think it should be
-
an overnight success, an intergalactic, international, apostolic prophetic whatever to
-
the world. Are you okay with small beginnings? My small
-
beginnings was literally doing prayer ministry in an inventory closet
-
of my wife's business, no exaggeration. She had a footwear
-
business and I was in the closet doing prayer ministry
-
with all these shoes on the shelves all around me.
-
And then I was promoted by getting kicked out of
-
the closet because somebody manifested a demon and her boss
-
freaked out and left. And so that was when I
-
got promoted and got my own little two hundred squarefoot office. Listen, y'all,
-
I didn't care when I was on Water Street and
-
a two hundred squarefoot office with Becky Bowen and doing
-
prayer ministry full time if nothing changed in that moment.
-
I knew I was doing what the Lord called me
-
to do, and I was totally content with it. When
-
you know you're doing what you're called to do. It
-
doesn't matter where you're at. You're not doing it for people.
-
Are you serving right now? Why are you serving? I
-
sure the heck cope, it's for Jesus. Don't serve for me,
-
Don't serve for somebody else in here. Do it because
-
it's a outpouring of the intimacy that you have with
-
the Lord. And you understand that he said, the Greatest
-
and the Kingdom are servants of all. And you want
-
to be about your father's business. I promise you, if
-
you serve to be seen, you've.
-
Had your reward.
-
And it'll take about fifteen minutes to get offended because
-
the moments you don't get patted on the back. Oh
-
we're so proud of you, you're going to get offended
-
and leave.
-
Are y all with me?
-
Are you all mad at me because I tell you
-
the truth. I haven't become your enemy because I tell
-
you the truth?
-
Have I ho, Piper? This is a tough crowd people.
-
Yeah, you better have thick skin and a soft heart
-
around here. Luke seventeen five to six. The apostles said
-
to the Lord, increase our faith. And the Lord said,
-
if you had faith like a grain of a mustard seed.
-
You could say to this mulberry tree, be uprooted and
-
planted to the sea, and it would obey you. What
-
is he saying there? The size of your faith is
-
not nearly as important as the purity of it, because
-
unbelief is like kryptonite, and it will shut down.
-
The Lord's ability to move through you. You're like, well,
-
where's that all? Over? Scripture?
-
How about he couldn't do any mighty works, but only
-
lay his hands on a few of the sick, and
-
he marveled at their unbelief of their hometown. They were
-
offended with him because they knew him from years past.
-
How about this, Maybe you missed a breakthrough because you
-
were offended with the person praying in front of you
-
because you knew him five years ago, and you don't
-
have any faith that Jesus transformed them. You think they're pretending. Oh,
-
I know, no, that stuff ever happens in church, not here.
-
We just came out of the closet. When finding the
-
limits of your anointing, you might say you're discovering the
-
measure of faith in which you abide. There are two
-
parts to your gifting and anointing. That which you were
-
born with and that which comes as a result of conversion.
-
So there are things that the Lord has gifted you
-
with from birth. I was a seer since I was
-
remember I would not have called that a gift because
-
it was tormenting to me. I didn't like seeing things,
-
and my grandparents, specifically my grandmother, thought I had a
-
vivid imagination because the enemy will use your gifting against
-
you when you don't know what it is. And when
-
it comes to the anointing, it's the anointing that breaks
-
the yoke. It's the anointing that breaks people out of bondage.
-
Y'all. It is not your gift.
-
You can have the greatest administrative gift in the world,
-
but that's not going to break the yoke.
-
And are you cultivating oil in your life? Are you?
-
Are you really truly seeking Jesus privately when no one's around,
-
and ministering unto the Lord and not doing it to
-
be accepted, not performing for his love, but truly in
-
relationship with him.
-
It's the simplicity of the gospel.
-
I don't know about you, but in the last however many months,
-
couple of years, man, everything's getting stripped down and at
-
the end of the day, it's the reality of the
-
simplicity of the gospel.
-
It's love God and love others.
-
Jesus said, the entire law hung on it, and we
-
don't have to complicate this thing.
-
You know. We went to work right away on July fourth,
-
no angelic visitation.
-
We knew there's a massive need, and two point thirty
-
in the afternoon, we hit the.
-
Doors or hit the ground running.
-
And all we did was try to be the hands
-
and feet of Jesus and love and take care of
-
the people in front of us. And there's been an
-
amazing testimony of Jesus released through this house because of it,
-
because so many people laid their lives down and started
-
serving other people. That's the simplicity of the gospel. You know,
-
all the signs and wonders, it happens when you're moving
-
forward in obedience. You understand that right the Book of Acts,
-
Hello people, it means acts like you're moving. You're doing something.
-
You're spiritually moving forward. You're in motion. You're not sitting
-
back waiting for the Lord to knock this big godzilla
-
supernatural door open and be like okay, then I will
-
do it. No get out there. I've talked about this previously,
-
but from Exodus thirty, the cinnamon, calmus, casia, and the
-
olive oil. And because the anointing oil you couldn't read
-
in enacts Exodus thirty the natural representation of the spiritual
-
anointing oil. It had five ingredients and the do you
-
know mirror is good for painkiller, and it's symbolic of
-
love and suffering, compassion and passion. Cinnamon is highly flam
-
highly flammable spice, believe it or not, and this is
-
symbolic for spiritual fire revival. The calmus is also called
-
sweet flag, a cane type plant that grows among water lilies,
-
and it's known for its aromatic properties when it is
-
bruised or crushed, and this is symbolic of forgiveness from
-
betrayals and woundings. Casia is bark scraped from a tree,
-
and this is a symbolic of sacrifice, worship, brokenness. It
-
is the purity element of the anointing oil, since this
-
must be scraped off the tree. It also represents the
-
purging element of the Holy Spirit, anybody feeling the purge.
-
And then there's olive oil. It's the last ingredient added
-
by which the aroma of the anointing oil is enhanced,
-
made pungent to the nose. This is symbolic of the
-
power of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of His
-
presence to mankind.
-
It is also what holds the mixture together.
-
Your personal anointing is what ascends up from your spirit
-
man and out to the people. This is what we
-
are anointed to be an appointment. This is our relation
-
with Christ that is brought about by the Holy Spirit.
-
The Greek word for this is chrisma. This is not
-
chrisma and ministeral minister ministerial anointing, sorry, y'all, is what
-
we're anointed to do. It's a proclamation, a special touch
-
for a special task. This type of anointing is provisional
-
and you will feel it come upon you for the
-
task at hand, and it lifts off after the ministry
-
is complete. Remember Isaiah ten twenty seven. The anointing breaks
-
the yoke of bondage, the weights off the people and
-
fresh oil. You ever hear us talk about fresh oil.
-
Fresh oil is needed at different times to break through
-
the strongholds and resist and resistance that can face in
-
our daily walk fresh oil usually comes after difficult battles
-
or to usher in a new season in our life.
-
It brings a well needed refreshing.
-
To our souls, just at the right time, Psalm ninety
-
two to ten. Most kings, priests, and prophets were only
-
anointed with the sacred oil once in their entire life,
-
but David and Jesus were anointed three times. David was
-
anointed as a teenager in First Samuel six thirteen, he
-
was anointed as King of Judah Second Samuel two four,
-
and David was anointed as King of Israel second Samuel
-
two five. I'm sorry, saying Samuel five to three. Jesus
-
was anointed at his baptism John one thirty two, he
-
was anointed by Mary and John twelve three, and he
-
was anointed by Nicodemus and John nineteen thirty nine to
-
forty one. Interestingly, in Ecclesiastes ten to one, it says,
-
just like dead flies spoil.
-
The ointment, so does a little sin to the believer.
-
You understand, they would rub oil fresh oil on the sheep.
-
Rub it on their head, and rub it on their nose.
-
Why because it keeps the flies from landing and actually
-
putting eggs on their nose, they would lay their eggs
-
on them, and so fresh oil keeps the flies away.
-
Are you all thinking symbolically metaphorically right now? Just like
-
the flies spoil the oil, flies will ruin the anointing
-
on your life. I've never seen a man of God
-
in the past who bit the dust. Even when they
-
came back and restored, they were never walking at the
-
level of anointing. They were the first time ever, none
-
of them. Because there's a price, there's a price to
-
pay when you're walking at that level, and there's a
-
level of responsibility that if you don't stewart that well,
-
you never get back to where you were, at least
-
with the anointing. It doesn't seem like it all right,
-
I'm landing the plane, I promise. In the time of
-
the Jewish Temple, there were four major pressings of the
-
olive harvest. The first pressing was used for the temple's minora,
-
or for the oil of anointing. The second press was oil,
-
used for oil lamps to give light in the homes.
-
The third pressing was used for cooking purposes, and the
-
fourth pressing was for medical purposes as prophetic ministers, we
-
must be able to discern between a person's gift and
-
their anointing. A gift can function in a person's life
-
regardless of their character. If a person is living in
-
sin and moving in their gift, it's common to mistake
-
it for the believer to think that God's stamp of
-
approval is on that person's life and therefore assume that
-
that minister is living a godly lifestyle. We must never
-
fall into the trap of depending on our gifts instead
-
of having character and intimacy with God. The anointing flows from.
-
The secret place.
-
Mike, if I can have you come up here by
-
I have the prayer teams come up. If you are
-
on the prayer team.
-
Please come forward. Bueler h remember uh. Just a reminder.
-
After this is the we're gonna set up for the
-
new members luncheon. So h.
-
H. Father.
-
We know.
-
That you said in the.
-
Last days difficult times would come upon Earth.
-
Lord.
-
We recognize the winds of change. Things are shifting, Lord,
-
but we also see your hand making all things beautiful.
-
We see your hand working all things together for the good.
-
Lord. We see a spark.
-
That could turn into a fire Lord, that could turn
-
into revival that could turn into an awakening. And Lord,
-
we pray, just like when Elijah saw the cloud the
-
size of a hand, he said, go down and tell
-
him it's gonna rain.
-
Lord, we're believing.
-
This spark that we're seeing right now in the last
-
couple of weeks. Lord, it's identical to that hand. Lord,
-
rain's coming. Go down and tell him it's gonna rain.
-
And if he doesn't get off the mountain, he won't
-
be able to because of the abundance of rain that's coming.
-
So Lord, we just declare that that spark turns into
-
a bonfire, that it turns into a holy fire, that
-
the revival that we've been waiting and tearying and believing
-
for over this land is here. So Lord, let the
-
revival fire start. Lord, let the fire burn. Lord, set
-
people on fire. That there would be a boldness that
-
comes over your church. Lord, that there would be a
-
I don't care if your servant tables like Stephen and
-
Axe was, but that there would be a company of
-
people moving in power, because you said, Paul said that
-
that the kingdom wasn't just in word, but it was
-
in power. And Lord, we say, use us. You said,
-
who will go how are they going to get saved
-
or they can't hear? Lord, we say send us, Lord,
-
we say send us. And just like in Isaiah, that
-
little ember of fire touched Isaiah's lips and purified his mouth. Lord,
-
purify our language, purify the words we speak.
-
Lord, May there be word words of life, of blessing
-
of honor that we would speak. Lord.
-
Father, we asked that you would be with our nation today, Lord,
-
that you would draw us back, that we would be
-
turning back to you. We asked Lord, that you would
-
be with the country as it mourns and Kerville, as
-
it continues to mourn the loss of so many people
-
lost in the flood. Lord, you said, blessed are those
-
who mourn, because they will be comforted.
-
So Lord, I thank you for your comfort.
-
But Lord, I'm asking that you would look upon these firebrands, Lord,
-
and just blow on the ember. Lord, blow on the ember.
-
That we would be set on fire. Lord, that we
-
would be set on fire. Lord, that it wouldn't that
-
it wouldn't it wouldn't be mad made, it wouldn't come
-
out of desire the soul, But that there would be
-
a holy fire that consumes us. Lord, a zeal, a
-
love for our first love, Lord that could not be quenched.
-
I asked that you would do this, Lord, for your
-
namesake in Jesus Mighty name.
-
Amen. Thank you for listening.
