  1. The Word of God is food for the spirit and health to the body.

  2. Through the spirit of revelation, we are guided into the wisdom and deep mysteries in His

  3. Word that make our lives vibrant and productive.

  4. Welcome to the Mercureful Gospel Church Podcast.

  5. As you listen in, the glory of God will be quickened and activated in your life.

  6. And now, the Word.

  7. Good morning everyone.

  8. It's so good to see you all this morning.

  9. For the last few weeks or months we've been looking at the subject of being in covenant

  10. with God.

  11. I am still convinced that it's one of the most significant things a human being can

  12. do to get into covenant with God.

  13. It has such profound implications and outcomes.

  14. This morning we're going to look at the subject, the relationship between sex and the covenant

  15. believer.

  16. How is this important aspect of our lives related to our being in covenant with God?

  17. What does it mean for a Christian who is in covenant with God?

  18. How are we supposed to handle our bodies and how are we supposed to live together as husband

  19. and wife?

  20. This is extremely important for us to study this morning.

  21. And I want us to read in the book of Genesis chapter 16, we're stressing the unfolding,

    Genesis 16 chapter mention

  22. the way Abraham lived out his covenant.

  23. And as we look at Abraham, we'll be studying our own lives because Abraham is our father

  24. by what?

  25. By faith.

  26. Abraham is the father of the faithful.

  27. So when you study Abraham, you're studying your own life.

  28. So we chose to look at the life of Abraham, how he lived out his covenant life and what

  29. that meant to him.

  30. And today we're going to see how sex played a role in the home of Abraham.

  31. Genesis 16 verse 1 to verse 5, now Sarai, Abraham's wife had born him no children.

    Genesis 16:1

  32. And she had an Egyptian maid whose name was Hagar.

  33. So Sarai said to Abraham, see now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children.

  34. Please go into my maid.

  35. Perhaps I shall obtain children by her.

  36. And Abraham heeded the voice of Sarai.

  37. Then Sarai, Abraham's wife, please underline that Sarai, Abraham's wife took Hagar, underline

  38. Hagar, the maid, took Hagar, her maid, the Egyptian and gave her to a husband, underline

  39. her husband to be his wife.

  40. So Abraham had written ten years in the land of Canaan.

  41. So he went into Hagar and she conceived.

  42. When she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes.

  43. Then Sarai said to Abraham, my wrong be upon you.

  44. I gave you my maid into your embrace.

  45. When she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes.

  46. The Lord judged between you and me.

  47. Now it's interesting that Sarai thought that she could use the servant as a surrogate mother,

  48. as a tool, as a vessel to bear children on my behalf and that there will be no repercussions.

  49. She thought that she could hand over a maid to have sex with her husband and there will

  50. be no consequences except giving birth to a child who will be legally the child of Sarai.

  51. You know, she's a servant, slave, sleep with her.

  52. When she gives birth to the child, the child will be mine and the matter will end there.

  53. She thought that after Hagar sleeps with Abraham, there will be no change.

  54. She'll still be a lowly servant, a slave that they brought from Egypt.

  55. To her surprise, she observed that when people have sex, the dynamic of relationships change.

  56. When you sleep with, it's not like any other person.

  57. There is a change in the emotional social cycle relationship between you and that individual.

  58. It's never the same.

  59. Even if you meet him on the street, you feel something.

  60. That is how powerful sex is.

  61. Sex is not just a physical activity.

  62. It affects your emotional and spiritual life very, very deeply.

  63. Even if it's a casual, you think it's casual sex, one time stunt.

  64. But when you look at it carefully, even if it's the same prostitute you slept with on

  65. the street, when you see her, there is a chemistry there.

  66. Sex is not just like eating food together.

  67. It goes much deeper than that.

  68. Sarah or Sarai was surprised.

  69. She says, I thought I gave you this woman to bear children on my behalf.

  70. Now look, she has become your wife.

  71. What did you expect?

  72. The Bible says in verse three, then Sarai, Abraham's wife, took Hagar, the maid, the

  73. Egyptian, and gave her to her husband to be his wife.

  74. She thought that they would just stop there.

  75. There would be nothing.

  76. Even Abraham, the way he treated Hagar, changed.

  77. In the home, the relationship changed.

  78. The home was disrupted because of that one night Abraham slept with Hagar.

  79. In fact, this is one reason why in some workplaces romance between a senior officer and a junior

  80. officer is prohibited.

  81. You cannot have a commanding officer having a romantic relationship with a junior officer.

  82. It is forbidden.

  83. Why?

  84. Because it confuses the way how you issue commands.

  85. That sergeant is no longer just another soldier you slept with.

  86. She has an age.

  87. She has part of you.

  88. She's no longer just like any other soldier.

  89. That is how powerful this thing is.

  90. And I think Christians, we need to be reminded that before you go to bed with anybody, think.

  91. Yeah, think.

  92. Because there will be changes.

  93. There will be things that take place that you probably didn't expect.

  94. Now if you're a teacher, a lecturer, pastor, if you're someone that is superior, you should

  95. be very careful how you treat those that are within your realm of authority.

  96. A maid.

  97. But that's why some maids, after they sleep with the husband, they begin to change how

  98. they treat the wife and how they respond to instructions.

  99. They get an air.

  100. The moment you see your maid has changed the ocean.

  101. No, I'm joking.

  102. When the maid no longer submits to the wife, there's something that happens.

  103. This woman said, she's not despising me.

  104. I gave you my maid, not despising me.

  105. It's because sex has a profound impact.

  106. The first thing I want you to write as the lesson this morning is sex among covenant

  107. believers is radically exclusive.

  108. Sex among covenant believers is exclusive.

  109. I have brothers.

  110. Some of them are gone, but I have a few left.

  111. I don't share Sabrina with them.

  112. Thank you, honey.

  113. I am expected to share my resources.

  114. If they're in need, I can help them.

  115. I'm expected as a Christian to give and share what I have with others.

  116. But there is one thing in my life that no one else can touch is that woman.

  117. It's exclusive, and the same thing with her.

  118. To me, no one else can come in my life as my wife does.

  119. I am exclusively mama for you.

  120. Because that's the way God designed it.

  121. We don't share husbands.

  122. We don't share wives.

  123. I know there is a trend these days, it's a way that people now think they are modern,

  124. they are progressive.

  125. People copy these white people.

  126. They want to be like white people.

  127. They have parties and husbands and wives mixed and mingled.

  128. And there is a complete mess as wife X sleeps with husband Y.

  129. That's the world.

  130. But as believers, I have come to remind us that marriage among common believers, I mean

  131. sex is radically exclusive.

  132. Hallelujah.

  133. Exclusive.

  134. Bible says in Hebrews 13 verse 4, marriage is honorable among all, and the bed and the

    Hebrews 13:4

  135. file, but fornication and adulterous, God will judge.

  136. Bed is exclusively for the couple.

  137. God says those who reach this rule, they will be judged.

  138. They are consequences.

  139. The marriage bed is exclusive for the two.

  140. The husband and the wife.

  141. Now turn with me to Proverbs 5 verse 15.

    Proverbs 5:15

  142. Let's turn there together.

  143. Proverbs 5 verse 15.

    Proverbs 5:15

  144. It says, drink waters out of your own system and running waters out of your own well.

  145. If you have a pen, it's your Bible.

  146. If you have a laptop like me, bolden, underscore the word drink.

  147. Drink water.

  148. Drink.

  149. The Bible is using water as an analogy for sex.

  150. It does that intentionally because sex like water becomes a need in our lives.

  151. The Bible says for those who are married, drink.

  152. In other words, don't just look at the water.

  153. Don't just feel the water.

  154. Don't just stare at the water.

  155. So couples, we need to do our best to engage sexually as often as we can.

  156. There's no amen.

  157. I don't know why, but I'm preaching the gospel here.

  158. It says drink.

  159. It means this must be something you make regular.

  160. It doesn't say look at the water.

  161. Touch the water.

  162. Feel it.

  163. Stare at it.

  164. So couples must program.

  165. They must put on timetable.

  166. This this things.

  167. The Bible says drink.

  168. And it says running waters out of your own well.

  169. See that?

  170. It's exclusive.

  171. Your own well.

  172. You are own, not the man, not the woman.

  173. You your own.

  174. That is God's design for sex among those who are in covenant with Him.

  175. That's His design.

  176. Your own well.

  177. It says let thy fountains be dispersed abroad rivers, waters, and the streets.

  178. Chapter 17, let them be only thine own and not strangers with thee.

  179. Hallelujah.

  180. You're own.

  181. Now it means that physical interaction between the husband and wife is exclusive to the point

  182. that even your thought processes must be restricted to your wife.

  183. Times, men and women can have what we call emotional affairs.

  184. You fantasize being with somebody else.

  185. That's the danger of watching pornography.

  186. They can create lovers in the mind.

  187. You look at this girl or this man doing these crazy things in pornography.

  188. You begin to be attracted and you begin to dream sleeping with him.

  189. That if you're married, that is emotional cheating.

  190. You're having an emotional affair with someone other than your spouse.

  191. That's why we discourage believers, stay away from pornography or ruin your marriage.

  192. You begin to imagine things that are not there.

  193. In fact, today we are watching the news.

  194. If you are like me, I watch news every day and I'm following the solder between Trump

  195. and Stormy Daniels.

  196. How many have heard of Stormy Daniels?

  197. Stormy Daniels gave Trump a run for his money.

  198. Stormy Daniels is a porn star.

  199. She's a porn star.

  200. I don't know why they call them stars, but she's a porn star.

  201. And Trump apparently watches pornography.

  202. He was attracted to this woman, being one with money, fighted her, slept with her and

  203. he tried to cover up.

  204. Now fighting for his political life because of an affair he had with a porn star called

  205. Stormy Daniels.

  206. It all began by viewing pornography.

  207. Because it says, let them be only thine and not stranger with thee.

  208. Now verse 18, let your fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of your youth.

  209. This verse is loaded.

  210. Why is this verse loaded?

  211. It's loaded because it says, let your fountain.

  212. In other words, every man here must ask God for the grace of God to always review a wife

  213. as a bride.

  214. Even when the breasts go south, even when wrinkles come in, even when everything is

  215. being challenged by the force of gravity, even when we are unable to perform as we used

  216. to when we were in our twenties, the Bible says let.

  217. That's why marriage is not for children.

  218. There is a mindset you must have to get married.

  219. It is a commitment to be loyal.

  220. Come and buy and buy.

  221. It is a let, let, it's a mindset you choose.

  222. You choose.

  223. Those breasts may not look as they were twenty, thirty years ago, but to you they are blessed.

  224. They are wonderful.

  225. You say it, pastor, that's a lie.

  226. No, it's not a lie.

  227. We walk by faith.

  228. This is the way of believers.

  229. This is the way for believers.

  230. I'm not talking about unbelievers.

  231. It's the way for believers.

  232. That's how we walk because our sex life is exclusive.

  233. There's no room for me to let my mind be under.

  234. There's no room for me to leave my wife and go somewhere.

  235. It is an exclusive commitment between me and Sabrina.

  236. Hallelujah.

  237. It says verse eighteen, it says, and rejoice with the wife of your youth.

  238. It means, it means that now you're old.

  239. You're now sixties or seventies, whatever it is.

  240. The Bible says, don't forget the wife of your youth.

  241. Look at her as you did when she was just twenty two or twenty five.

  242. It speaks of longevity in marriage.

  243. It implies that marriage is supposed to last.

  244. That's why I said our form was not for children.

  245. You need a mindset to be one who is determined.

  246. God loves this woman and God be faithful to her all my life.

  247. I'll train and control my heart and my mind to be exclusively committed to her and her.

  248. That's the mindset.

  249. And as the hours pass by, it says, and as a loving dear, as a graceful boy, let her

  250. bless us for you at all times, always be enraptured with her love.

  251. Hindsight.

  252. Never get married to a young man who doesn't have this mindset.

  253. You need that to be faithful to your spouse.

  254. Hallelujah.

  255. Now, the next thing I want to talk about regarding sex among believers is sex among covenant

  256. believers determines how far you reach in your potential, how far you go in your potential.

  257. All of us are gifted.

  258. God has designed us to achieve certain things in this life.

  259. God has called us, God has gifted us this potential in each one of us.

  260. But here me Christians, how you treat your sex life, how you handle your sexual drive

  261. determines to a large extent how far you attain your potential, how far you attain those achievements,

  262. how far you go in your calling God.

  263. If you handle your sex life frequently, carelessly, you will jeopardize your ability to succeed

  264. in this life.

  265. It's true.

  266. Look, Clinton, look, all this men, look, Samson, look, it is a principle.

  267. If you fail to control this part of your life, you may never fully achieve all your potential.

  268. It's that powerful.

  269. I want to show you something in the Bible, Judges chapter 13, Judges 13 verse 5, talking

Judges 13 chapter mention Judges 13:5

  270. about Samson, Judges 13 verse 5 says, For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son,

    Judges 13:5

  271. and no razor shall come upon his head.

  272. For the child shall be another right to God from the womb.

  273. He shall begin, underline that word, he shall begin, he shall begin to deliver Israel out

  274. of the hand of the Philistines.

  275. Unfortunately, despite all the gifting and the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of

  276. Samson, he never fully achieved his potential.

  277. He never fully attained everything that God has set before him.

  278. He only began, he only began because Samson could not handle, control his sexual drive.

  279. Despite all the things he could do, he was the strongest man that ever lived.

  280. And also very smart.

  281. He had tremendous opportunity, established country of Israel.

  282. He had unusual gifting, but, but the liar, the liar and the wild man came in his life.

  283. And this principle, I could give you many examples in the Bible, Ruben and Genesis chapter

    Genesis 49 chapter mention

  284. 49, Ruben, Genesis 49 verse 3, Genesis 49 verse 3 says, Ruben, you are my firstborn,

    Genesis 49:3 Genesis 49:3

  285. my might and the beginning of my strength.

  286. You see the potential there.

  287. The excellency of dignity, the excellency of power.

  288. This man had it all.

  289. He had it all.

  290. Ruben, the firstborn had it all.

  291. Power, dignity, strength, and stable as water.

  292. You will not excel because you went up to your father's bed.

  293. You defiled it, you end up to my couch.

  294. So the message this morning, I think is important.

  295. If you are going somewhere with God, if you have any plans to become successful, become

  296. influential, please control, handle your sexual life.

  297. Because if you don't, it can affect negatively your ability to succeed in this life.

  298. This man, Samson, was so amazing.

  299. And until he met Delilah, he was undefeatable.

  300. Hear me.

  301. Whenever you have sex outside marriage, it's attempted spiritual suicide.

  302. Write that down.

  303. Whenever you have got sex, whenever you engage in sex outside marriage, it is attempted spiritual

  304. suicide.

  305. You may not die the first time, but keep on doing it.

  306. One day you will pay the price.

  307. Now don't expect a man, don't say a man to that.

  308. Just leave it there.

  309. This man, this man was a playboy.

  310. If you read the book of Judges, you'll agree with me.

  311. This man was a standard playboy.

  312. But this Samson, he loved the scots.

  313. He loved to play around.

  314. He was a typical, typical playboy.

  315. But a woman called Delilah.

  316. And Delilah was not alone, just as, just as Samson had spiritual power in his life.

  317. Amazing spiritual power.

  318. This man was, was amazing.

  319. He had spiritual power.

  320. When he met a woman called Delilah, she too had spiritual power.

  321. The Bible says in chapter 16 verse 4, Judges 16 verse 4.

    Judges 16:4

  322. Judges 16 verse 4 says, afterward it happened that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek,

    Judges 16:4

  323. whose name was Delilah.

  324. Now this is the first time the Bible says Samson loved a woman.

  325. All the other women was playing with them.

  326. Except this one, except this one, he got the prostitute.

  327. He was involved in sex out of marriage.

  328. He did that until he met Delilah.

  329. Delilah had him around her finger.

  330. Bible says for the first time the man was a woman.

  331. He loved this woman.

  332. Something different about Delilah.

  333. There was a way in which she was able to use spiritual power to draw this man, hold him.

  334. When you engage in sex, it's not just physical, it's also spiritual.

  335. There is a spiritual dimension to sex.

  336. That's why I said every sexual act outside marriage is attempted spiritual suicide.

  337. She hooked him.

  338. She hooked him.

  339. And the Philistines, the Lords, notice this.

  340. This man does not leave your house.

  341. Can you use your strength?

  342. Ask him where does he get his strength from?

  343. How can we kill him?

  344. How can we render him, destroy him?

  345. There was a blunt as that.

  346. They said we'll give you money.

  347. We'll give you, all of us will give you, I think they said one thousand silver pieces.

  348. She says tell us.

  349. The woman said okay, I'll do it.

  350. And she had some son around her finger.

  351. Some so could not leave this woman.

  352. Some people say that some women have got power to even put a man in a bottle.

  353. It's not probably, that's putting it in a funnel, but there is some truth in that.

  354. Because sex is not just physical, it's also spiritual.

  355. It is a dimension in which you open up your spirit, your innermost being to satanic and

  356. spiritual beings to control you.

  357. She was controlling this man.

  358. So she said to him, now, Samson, tell me, how can we, where is your source of strength?

  359. Tell me how can we hurt you?

  360. Can you imagine the woman asking her customer, how can I kill you?

  361. How can we kill you?

  362. Tell me where is your strength?

  363. And Samson, because he was under his spell, he thought he could deceive the woman.

  364. If you could get both string and hair, you would be able to conquer me.

  365. She did it.

  366. When she tied his hair, she told the man to come and kill him.

  367. And she said, Samson, please stand here.

  368. He woke up, shook off the whatever was tied on his hair, and he killed the philistines.

  369. He did that three times.

  370. I don't have time to go through everything.

  371. Just go back and read that three times.

  372. And every time you do that, she would ask him, but you have lied to me.

  373. Now, tell me the truth.

  374. How can we kill you?

  375. How can we kill you?

  376. Because this man was under spell, he had met another champion.

  377. I repeat, every time you engage in sex outside marriage is attempted spiritual suicide.

  378. You may not die the first time, but keep on doing it.

  379. There will be consequences because sex is beyond just something physical.

  380. There is something spiritual about it.

  381. And finally, the Bible says because the woman kept on nagging him, nagging him.

  382. He said, okay, okay, okay.

  383. She probably said, don't come back tomorrow.

  384. He says, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

  385. Okay, forgive me, Delilah, forgive me.

  386. Let me tell you the truth.

  387. She told him the whole truth.

  388. The rest is history.

  389. So this morning when we come to believers who are in covenant, sex because of its implications,

  390. because of its spiritual dimension must be exclusively among married couples.

  391. Don't go outside your marriage.

  392. It is risky.

  393. It's risky.

  394. Now you can say a man to that.

  395. All right.

  396. Okay.

  397. Bible says in first Corinthians chapter six, verse 16 says, what?

  398. No you know that he which is joined to a hallowed is one body for two safe he shall be one flesh.

  399. Sexual union is not just physical activity.

  400. It's also a spiritual union.

  401. But I'm not just joining physically, but there's also a spiritual union and transfer in Proverbs

  402. six, verse 32, but who so commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding.

  403. He that does it destroys his own soul.

  404. My Bible says so you destroy your own soul.

  405. This affects the soul.

  406. It affects the spirit of a man.

  407. Saturn knows this because the Bible says that it says in first Corinthians chapter six,

  408. verse nine to 10, it says, no, you know that the unrighteous are not in head.

  409. The kingdom of God be not deceived.

  410. Neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor a feminine nor abusers of themselves with

  411. mankind nor thieves, not covetous, not drunkards, not revelers, next to show us shall inherit

  412. the kingdom of God.

  413. Even the devil knows that funny.

  414. Look at that.

  415. Go back to verse nine.

  416. First night the devil knows that verse.

  417. He knows it.

  418. He says fornicators adulterers will never inherit the kingdom of God.

  419. Star night.

  420. And that's why he keeps people bowled in sin because he wants to take it to hell.

  421. He wants to take it to hell.

  422. He knows even though you're a pastor, if you are doing this, you will never see heaven.

  423. You may speak thanks, you may prophesy, you may heal the sick, but if you're a fornicate

  424. adulterer, you will never seek the kingdom of God.

  425. Satan knows that.

  426. That's why I said it is attempted spiritual what?

  427. Suicide.

  428. All right.

  429. Now, let me share with you the last thing before we pray.

  430. Sex among covenant believers requires self-control.

  431. That's the third point I want us to learn this morning.

  432. And I want us to look at the life of David.

  433. In Psalms, on second Samuel, second Samuel chapter 11 verse two, it says, then it happened

    2 Samuel 11 chapter mention

  434. one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king's house.

  435. And from the roof he saw a woman by the thing and the woman was very beautiful to behold.

  436. So David sent an inquired about the woman and someone said, is this not Bathsheba, the

  437. daughter of Biam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

  438. You know, I have learned over the years that every year, beautiful women are being born.

  439. Every year.

  440. Every year.

  441. My wife is beautiful, but even now to speak, there is a girl being born who is as beautiful.

  442. There's no end to the fact that we meet attractive people all the time.

  443. At your place of work, at the university, in your neighborhood.

  444. The Bible says David looked beautiful.

  445. There's no harm in that because they are always being born.

  446. They're handsome guys being born every day.

  447. You will meet them on the street.

  448. It's a fact of life.

  449. But to a believer who is in covenant with God, may the Lord give you the grace to acquire

  450. self-control.

  451. Ah, you cannot please God without this discipline because they're everywhere.

  452. You might be working with a very attractive young woman.

  453. You may be having a maid who is very attractive.

  454. It's part of life.

  455. You are not living on an island.

  456. But what is imperative, what is critical, is that every believer must develop spiritual

  457. muscle, self-control.

  458. Without that, you cannot please God.

  459. Of course, we're not blind.

  460. We're made of flesh and temptation is with us to the day we got the grave.

  461. David looked and said, my goodness, who is that one?

  462. Who is she?

  463. He didn't stop there.

  464. He told him, ah, it is someone.

  465. He says, ah, ah, you just call her, tell her to come to my bedroom.

  466. And one would think that David had self-control because if you recall, when he went to battle

  467. and he saw Goliath, Goliath instilled fear in people.

  468. The Bible says when the Jews saw him, they were running and hiding in caves.

  469. Goliath was big.

  470. He had killed people from his youth.

  471. He had killed more people than he could count.

  472. By the way, Goliath was not also alone.

  473. He also had spiritual power.

  474. But anyway, Goliath was extremely fearsome.

  475. He was fearsome.

  476. And he had a record to back up his profession and his confession.

  477. He was a champion.

  478. And when people see him, fear will grip them.

  479. But David went to the front line and because of self-control, faith, he controlled the

  480. emotion of fear in him.

  481. He says, you come with me with a spear.

  482. I come to you in the name of the Lord.

  483. He controlled emotion of fear.

  484. Out of faith, he slew Goliath.

  485. Now one would expect that if he could control fear, why can't you control lust?

  486. David fell.

  487. This is his biggest failure in his career.

  488. This, but God loved this man.

  489. He really messed up.

  490. He really messed up big time.

  491. A few weeks ago, I went to the Toyota dealership.

  492. I took the car to be serviced.

  493. When I was there, I was attracted to a vehicle.

  494. I saw a beautiful Toyota Corolla.

  495. I think the model is 2022 or 2023.

  496. Beautiful car.

  497. Even I could fit behind the driver's seat with my long legs.

  498. That's how good it is.

  499. This car, very fuel efficient, beautiful car, comfortable.

  500. It is crafted wonderfully.

  501. It's a beautiful vehicle.

  502. The salesman told me, sir, you thought I had money.

  503. Sir, come and sit in the car.

  504. He opened the door for me.

  505. He says, you can also go for a test drive.

  506. Go for a test drive.

  507. I said, I don't have a driver.

  508. Let me just sit behind the wheel.

  509. I thought the car, it was beautiful.

  510. But I also had to exercise self-control because if I was younger, I'm now old.

  511. If I was younger, I would run to the bank to process a loan to buy the car.

  512. That's what I would do.

  513. If I was younger, that's what I would do.

  514. I would go into debt because the man really made me feel this is the car I should have.

  515. Even me with my long legs, I can feel behind the seat, driver seat.

  516. Brand new, beautiful.

  517. But I closed the door and walked away.

  518. Self-control, self-control.

  519. We will always meet beautiful girls.

  520. We'll always meet handsome men.

  521. We'll always meet people who are attractive.

  522. We shall meet them.

  523. But how far are you going to run after every skirt?

  524. A good example is Solomon.

  525. Solomon wanted to sample every attractive woman he saw.

  526. He married 1,000 wives, Solomon.

  527. If he had lived longer, he would have probably married even more.

  528. This man had no self-control.

  529. Self-control is a must for believers.

  530. It's a must because you're not made out of wood.

  531. We are human beings.

  532. This man, David, should have looked and said, my Nange, I thank you, God, for that woman.

  533. Close the chapter, turn away.

  534. Kept on looking, kept on looking and says, who is she?

  535. Says Uriah's wife.

  536. Oh, but go on and call her.

  537. He misused his power.

  538. He misused his office.

  539. And he committed adultery and ended up killing the husband.

  540. Now as I finish, men who are here and you have authority, you have money, you have means,

  541. you have position, please don't use that capacity to take advantage over women.

  542. Only men, because they can seduce and sleep with women, they do it.

  543. Just because you have the money to marry a second wife, buy her a new car, as a believer,

  544. it does not mean that you should do it.

  545. Are you following?

  546. Just because you can doesn't mean you should do it.

  547. Self-control.

  548. David was a powerful king.

  549. When he said, who is she?

  550. They told him someone's wife says, ah, call her.

  551. Who could refuse?

  552. This is King David, my friend.

  553. This is David.

  554. This is the beloved of God.

  555. This is the man who would conquer the Philistines, said Kola.

  556. The servants obeyed and the woman came.

  557. And what happened happened.

  558. I have learned that just because you can doesn't mean that you should.

  559. Just because you are the lecturer, the professor, the pastor, you're the master, it's housemaid,

  560. you're the wealthy man, you've hired this girl, she's your receptionist.

  561. You have the power.

  562. You have the wealth.

  563. You have the the ephorist to defile her.

  564. Doesn't mean you should.

  565. Self-control.

  566. Believers are different.

  567. We are different.

  568. We don't take advantage of our people.

  569. Now we don't do that.

  570. We could.

  571. We have the means.

  572. We have the position.

  573. We have the money.

  574. There's a guy who had cars and he giving this campus student car to drive and she, this

  575. young woman was coming to this man's son for discussion and this older man became attracted

  576. to this campus girl.

  577. In the sense they began to things to happen and gave her money, buy her clothing and gave

  578. her a car to drive.

  579. The son asked the dad, what are you doing?

  580. He says, we are friends.

  581. We are friends.

  582. A car long story short, she became pregnant.

  583. She began to have children with this man.

  584. This man when he died, this woman, the student who was a former student has become a problem

  585. in the family.

  586. What I'm saying to you is fact.

  587. There's now a case in court because this young woman wants to take all the property.

  588. It all began by this man who had means, could afford it, give a weekend package, gave her

  589. a car, gave her this.

  590. She became the mother of his children.

  591. Now she's become a terror in the family.

  592. It's because you can't, doesn't mean you should.

  593. Self control.

  594. Hallelujah.

  595. Now, as I finish, I don't want to end this message this way.

  596. There is hope.

  597. There is hope.

  598. If anyone is here and you've made mistakes, there is hope.

  599. These are the things that took Jesus to the cross.

  600. He knows very well how afraid he is.

  601. That's why he died on the cross.

  602. So there is hope.

  603. Those who have lost their virginity, there is what we call secondary virginity.

  604. And it's interesting when a woman wises up and sizes up and begins to live a life of

  605. purity, she becomes attractive to men.

  606. It is true.

  607. Your men are put off by a loose woman.

  608. You never get a serious husband if you're loose.

  609. You never.

  610. But men are drawn to a virtuous woman.

  611. So even if you've messed, now put your life in order.

  612. Because when you decide to become a secondary virgin in that you abstain from sex, you begin

  613. to become attractive to men.

  614. I'm talking about serious men.

  615. So this morning, there is hope.

  616. Let's bow heads and pray.

  617. If you need prayer this morning, and I'm not going to ask you to stand.

  618. Why?

  619. Because I'm not here to judge anybody.

  620. But you know yourself.

  621. If you have not worked as a covenant believer, you will not adhere to the terms and conditions

  622. of the covenant.

  623. You have wounds, you've got scars, you've been burnt, your fingers have been burnt,

  624. you've lost your virginity, you've messed up your wife, wife or husband or marriage.

  625. But there's hope.

  626. God of Jesus that was shed our Calvary, can cleanse us from all sin, all sin.

  627. I'll ask you to do one thing.

  628. Just raise your hand to God.

  629. Raise your hand, not to men, but to God.

  630. And say, God, this morning, I have heard your word.

  631. Please forgive me.

  632. Restore me.

  633. Help me back in the center of your will.

  634. Help me get back to the right trajectory in my life.

  635. Help me attain all the achievement and the potential you've placed in my life.

  636. Raise your hand to God, not to me, to God.

  637. And I'm going to pray for you.

  638. Heavenly Father, this morning, you gave me this message for a reason.

  639. You have not come to judge.

  640. The Bible says that we should come boldly.

  641. The throne of grace is a throne of grace.

  642. The throne of judgment has not yet come.

  643. It's still the throne of grace.

  644. There's hope for every sinner on this side of heaven.

  645. Therefore, Lord, I pray, convict them, convince them and cleanse them.

  646. Wash them clean.

  647. Bring them back the center of your will.

  648. And I pray that you bless them beyond their imagination.

  649. I pray these things in Jesus' name, amen.

  650. God bless you.

  651. Thank you for listening.

  652. We hope that you've been strengthened with his might and fortified by the word of God.
