Let's give Jesus the praise.

What a special day.

What a privilege it is to be able to be with you today.

Today we're celebrating a very special day.

The foundation of our faith was generated on a day like today.

So we are very happy to be able to celebrate Passover with you

before anything I want to thank my Lord Jesus Christ

for giving me the opportunity to preach his message.

Also I want to thank our pastors who believe in us.

Don't think that pastors are just running away from you.

They are people that truly believe in your leadership.

They send their greetings over.

They're not here today because they went to Chile this week.

They are celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of pastors' life.

So send them all your congratulations.

They want to let you know that they love you and they miss you.

We want to thank you for your prayers for pastor.

Pastor's wife is doing very well.

We're still believing for more.

If you haven't seen her here, well she was here on Monday

and those who were able to see her, we saw her that she was so intertwined.

She is stronger than all of us here put together.

So we thank the Lord for her life.

Let's get into the Word of God.

Today we're going to deliver a simple message.

What is the foundation of your faith and my faith?

If Jesus Christ would not have risen,

everything we preach would be in vain.

Anything that we say that we believe in would be in vain.

If there was no resurrection,

there would be no Christian faith.

In other words, if you go ask a Muslim,

Mohammed never rose from the dead.

They can go to his tomb

and they're not expecting anything from him.

As a matter of fact, they believe that when they die,

as a day they're going to find out where they're going to go,

either to heaven or to hell.

But you and I have a different type of foundation

which tells us that he who believes in the Son of God,

they will be saved.

You and I have the confidence,

the complete assurity

of where you and I will go the day we leave this earth.

And it's only about having faith in the Son of God.

Today we remember the Passover.

We're remembering the resurrection of Christ

who died on a day like Friday,

he resurrected on the third day.

You might say, but that's not three days.

For the Jewish calendar, Friday counts as a day,

Saturday as another, and Sunday as a third one.

So that's how we can fulfill what is said

that on the third day he was risen from the dead.

But before going in deeper into the topic,

we're going to watch a video in which I ask you to open your heart

because to walk the gospel without understanding the sacrifice of Jesus,

without understanding the purpose for which Jesus came to earth.

Our faith can vary and can be directionless.

If we don't understand the sacrifice, we think that Jesus died to bless us.

So I can have a car, a house, a scholarship.

I have two planes.

Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God did not die for that.

That's an additional blessing.

But it's not the purpose for which the Son of God came to this earth.

Let's watch the screens.

His resurrection will always be a sign to you and to I.

It will always be a perpetual sign to you and to me of his love for you and for me.

Let's go to Isaiah 53.

He said,

He was passed down by our rebellions,

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, and as

one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised and we esteemed him not.

Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed him stricken,

smitten by God and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities.

Upon him was a chastisement that brought us peace and with his wounds we are healed.

Verse 7, he was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth, like a lamb

that is led to the slaughter and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent.

So he opened not his mouth.

By oppression and judgment he was taken away and as for his generation who considered that

he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people.

That prophecy given by Prophet Isaiah was given so long before Jesus even existed.

We still have this book in common with the Jewish people.

And if you were to ask the Jewish people, according to humanity's history, who is this

describing?

And they all point to Jesus without recognizing that he is the Son of God.

His suffering, his story, comes into agreement with what Isaiah had prophesied many years

before Jesus came to earth.

It's so impressive to see how the Bible is such a complex book.

The Bible is written by many authors in different places of the world, in different stories

or times, in different socioeconomic and political spheres.

However, the entire Bible points back to Jesus of Nazareth.

How is this possible?

A book that was written in different languages and it all points back to the person of Jesus.

This prophecy points directly back to the Lord Jesus Christ.

In a day like today we celebrate Passover, which means to jump over.

It was a feast of the Lord where you had to sacrifice a lamb in order to have the people's

sins forgiven.

A high priest had to be the one that offered that sacrifice.

A lamb had to die in order to forgive the sins of the rest of the people.

And they were also celebrating going from winter to spring.

They would usually hold this feast in the first full moon of springtime.

But then it became a celebration in which we remember the Israel people whenever they

left Egypt.

A plague would come.

It would end up killing anyone it passed through.

But the Lord gave an instruction.

Grab some blood of a lamb and place it on the doorposts of the houses.

Every house.

Listen to this with spiritual ears.

Every house that would have the blood of the lamb upon it, the plague would skip over it.

Death would skip over it.

And that's why it's called Passover because it would pass over the houses.

It would pass over the houses and it wouldn't kill the people.

We make references to that historical moment where millions of Jewish people were able to

go into the Promised Land.

Then we go to 2,000 years later.

And we're going to speak a little bit about the death of Jesus.

You know that we are in a generation that is charged with knowledge.

But with a little revelation of who Christ is, we die to just to know secrets.

We're dying to know different data points that just catch our attention.

But the basic concept of who Christ is, why He did what He did, we are just falling short.

I'm going to prove it to you in the times of tribulation.

What's the first thing we do?

We have our faith doubt.

Because we have the conviction that our faith is all about being blessed.

So if I'm not blessed and it means Jesus doesn't exist or He's not with me.

If someone gets sick, we say, oh God isn't with that person.

Oh God is punishing them.

He's going through some personal things.

If you knew Jesus Christ, the Son of God, you would understand that not even sickness

is a sign that He has thought in your life.

I'm here to tell you that whatever circumstance you're going through is not a sign that God

is not with you.

The Jewish people, as seen what was happening to Jesus, they would say, oh surely God is

not with them.

God is not with him.

If He says that He had all the power, why doesn't He just step down from the cross?

Even Gandhi.

He just, he had a meeting with the poor, the Pope was in the moment.

And he said, Gandhi said that he wasn't understanding how Jesus didn't save himself.

That he didn't understand the wisdom and the knowledge of Jesus.

He knew everything he'd done.

Church, his story doesn't deny the existence of Jesus.

Everything the Bible says is historically proven.

The issue isn't believing if He existed or if He did.

The issue is understanding the mystery of the cross.

The mystery of His sacrifice.

It's this mystery.

It's this revelation that sustains you on your bad days.

It's this conviction that goes beyond your emotions that keeps you firm.

Everything that occurred in the cross was a repercussion of a prophecy.

If Jesus would not have died an evil death, then you and I would not be saved.

Because of this cross, there was a marvelous exchange.

He made himself a wicked man.

So you and I didn't have to pay for our sins.

We have to be a generation that walks conscious of the payment of our sins.

We shouldn't be walking a long life thinking that we should have been forgiven.

Don't confuse yourself.

You and I weren't that good.

Yes, but I didn't kill, I didn't hate, I didn't steal.

Let me remind you that it took God Himself, the Son of God, to come to earth and pay it.

A sacrifice wasn't enough, a ritual wasn't enough, words weren't enough, emotions weren't

enough.

God Himself had to die to pay the price.

This is a reminder that I owe my life to Him.

That's why we must understand everything that happened at the cross.

All His sacrifice and all the events that led up to His sacrifice, time, place, the

words that were spoken, they were responding to the prophecies.

Did you know that we've proven historically that for a person to fulfill 100% of a prophecy,

it's one out of 10 million chance.

Science says or history speaks about that we can believe that a person fulfills eight

out of all the prophecies that were said about a person.

Jesus is the only one that fulfilled 100% of His prophecies.

The day that He died was a chosen day.

Jesus wasn't taken by surprise by death.

It had to be during a Passover.

It had to be a day where the people were sacrificing their sins for their sins to be

forgiven.

But Jesus of Nazareth arrives and He says, I'm going to be the Lamb of God.

I will pay for the sin of the world.

That Friday was when they arrested Him and different events took place.

He was with His disciples enjoying the Last Supper, eating from the bread, drinking from

the wine.

And whenever He took the bread and the wine, He said, do this in remembrance of me.

He was preparing them for what was about to happen in a few hours.

It was more than just bread and wine.

Jesus was saying, every time you eat of this bread, remember what you're about to see in

the next few hours.

Remember what's about to happen in the next minute.

Jesus of Nazareth was betrayed.

They sold Him for 30 coins.

It is written that His life was worth 30 coins.

That was the exact amount for which He sold Him for.

A soldier arrives and they ask, go with me to John 18 and 19.

Because of time, I'm going to paraphrase it.

Whenever the soldiers come, He says it Himself, who are you looking for?

You're looking for Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus responds, that's me.

The moment He says those words, I am, that's the name of God, your soul.

The Bible says that they fell to the ground because they felt the presence of God in

that moment because every knee shall bow to that name.

And He would say, your soul, the soldiers fall.

Jesus comes back and asks, who are you looking for?

Jesus of Nazareth.

They come and fall again.

The presence of God falls.

Jesus is arrested.

Then they take them to a certain type of court.

The religious Jews were desperate for Him to be killed already because according to

the law, if a person said that they were the son of God, they should be stoned to death.

If they were to be called to the court, they would be lobbying the Roman government and

they would say, we need you to kill them.

Kill him.

So then Jesus goes with Pilate to get interrogated.

Whenever He goes to this interrogation with Pilate, He asks, who are you?

Are you the king?

Are you the king of the Jews?

And Jesus would say, I'm not saying so.

You're declaring so.

It's the words coming out of your mouth.

The description Isaiah is fulfilled with the said, as a slain lamb He did not open

His mouth.

He didn't defend Himself although He had all authority to do so.

I could imagine the entire army of heaven was ready to desinilate the earth but everything

stopped because they loved you and me because the price of that death was so high.

He was determined to die for you and for me.

In the moment where Pilate asks Him, is it you?

Are you the king of the Jews?

You're saying so.

They say that such a fear came upon Pilate.

I can only imagine the fear of God that that man felt and we can say a thousand things

about Pilate.

He washed his hands off.

He just wasn't embarrassed about this at all.

But keep in mind that he wasn't a Jew.

He didn't have to believe in anything.

Nevertheless in Him there was a fear.

And one of the questions that Jesus asked was, are you the one asking me?

Because Pilate would say they want to crucify you because you say you're the king of the

Jews.

And Jesus asked Him, are you asking or are they asking?

There was a shuffling inside of Pilate that was telling him there's something different

about this man.

He went and told the Jewish people, I don't see anything bad in him.

Y'all kill him.

And they were saying crucify him, crucify him, crucify him.

Why crucify him if politically they had no reason to crucify him?

Because the earth and the story that follows the earth have to follow the word of God.

The God had already said it had to be a wicked death upon a cross.

Jesus was before the governor at the time and he had an opportunity to run away from

this situation.

Jesus was basically saying, can't you just see that I can save you?

And Pilate was telling Jesus, I have the authority to save you.

Speak.

Who are you?

Where are you coming from?

He was saying, don't you see that I have the authority to let you go?

Jesus stands up and says there's no authority upon you unless it's been placed by God himself.

Jesus wasn't speaking to Pilate, Jesus was speaking to the demon that was behind Pilate.

And he was saying there was no authority given on to you, spirit of death.

You have been delegated, you have been delegated power but it's not your own power.

Because of Nazareth had to die that day, that day was the day that they were sacrificing

the land.

Jews would come from all over the world and they came to celebrate Passover.

It was like this great festival going on in the city.

However, there was the juicio más grande that was happening at that moment.

They were desperate.

Kill them already.

Kill them already.

Jesus was supposed to die the Friday before Passover.

But the time is aligned because then his trial would have had to be on Saturday.

They couldn't do anything on a Saturday.

That's why even the time that Jesus died was responding to an event from God.
