May I be seated?
-
It's a great honor to be here with you.
-
I had the honor of being here with you, Mending, also.
-
As we had the memorial, I called her my daughter.
-
Cindy and I are so old that everyone's our daughter and son.
-
Cindy and I are very old that everyone's our daughter and son.
-
I think I'm older than her parents.
-
Anyone know? Anyway.
-
Let me start tonight by saying this.
-
Cindy has a saying.
-
And it's this.
-
Don't preach past the anointing.
-
Don't preach beyond the anointing.
-
Don't say, you have to fill the time.
-
I'm not going to do that.
-
I believe the Lord has given me a specific message that I believe is anointed.
-
I don't know how long it's going to take for Jennifer and I to release it.
-
But we'll do it.
-
And it will give you something that I hope will have impact in your life.
-
As we have been walking together through this very challenging season,
-
I was asking, what do you say to a people who are in a challenging season?
-
And here's what he told me.
-
I want you to teach tonight about the revelation of why
-
and the revelation of where.
-
I want you to teach tonight about the revelation of why and the revelation of where.
-
Why, or why, and the revelation of where.
-
Very important for your life.
-
If you mess up these two revelations, you will get stuck in your life.
-
How many of you do not want to be stuck in your life?
-
Most of you.
-
We'll talk to the ones who like being stuck later.
-
I want to talk about why.
-
Even prophets don't always have the revelation that they would desire to have.
-
I'll give you an example of that in the Word.
-
In 2 Kings, the 4th chapter, and we'll not go to the specific verses at this time.
-
But I will tell you the story that is related to this.
-
The prophet Elisha had developed a relationship with a couple
-
and we know the woman was called a shunamite woman
-
and she had prepared, she entered the world,
-
and she had prepared, she and her husband had prepared a special room for the prophet.
-
So as he traveled, he would have a place to stay.
-
So in time, the prophet had a question.
-
What can I do to bless this woman?
-
And so what he found was she was bearing
-
and she wanted a child.
-
So Elisha saw the Lord
-
and the Lord allowed him to release a word
-
that in one year she would be holding a son in her arms.
-
Now this was almost beyond the belief of the woman.
-
And I don't know how this translates to Spanish, but she said,
-
don't mess with me
-
and she basically said, don't you play with me?
-
Because if this is going to happen,
-
you have to account for this child.
-
So within a year, the woman gave birth to a wonderful son.
-
And we know that as the child grew up,
-
there was a day when he went into the fields
-
and he had some kind of episode, I believe it may have been sunstroke,
-
but it was very serious,
-
and he died.
-
They took him into the house and he died.
-
Well, this really upset the woman.
-
This was a child of promise.
-
The prophet promised the child.
-
So how could this be happening?
-
Let me put it this way.
-
Why?
-
And so she went to see the prophet.
-
And it's really interesting what happens.
-
Elijah did not know about the death of the child
-
and he told his servant,
-
the Lord hath hid it from me
-
and hath not told me.
-
So sometimes even the prophets will not have the revelation of why.
-
And sometimes for us, I would say it this way,
-
it is not given for us to know why.
-
Not the side of heaven.
-
I believe there will be a day in heaven
-
where we have true clarity on everything that's happened
-
and all of our whys will be answered.
-
So even prophets don't have revelation about everything,
-
much less us.
-
In many cases,
-
things happen and we're just not given to know
-
or have revelation of why.
-
So that's the first point about the prophet.
-
And we're not given the reason or the revelation of why.
-
So that's the first point about why.
-
Now here's the second and most important point about why.
-
If you're not careful,
-
you will get stuck
-
if there's been a tragedy,
-
if there's been something that's happened,
-
if there's been something traumatic,
-
and you will get stuck in your why
-
and you will not be able to move forward in your life
-
and the Bible says you can become shipwrecked in your faith.
-
You have to be able to be mature enough
-
to say when you don't understand or you don't know why,
-
you have to be mature enough to move on.
-
God will someday give you the revelation,
-
but you cannot afford to get stuck on wondering why.
-
Two very simple things.
-
Even prophets don't understand everything.
-
You're not going to understand everything.
-
Don't get stuck.
-
Now the main thing I want to focus on tonight
-
is the revelation of where.
-
Let me unpack this.
-
Let me unpack this.
-
In the 28th chapter of Genesis,
-
we find Jacob.
-
You know him. You have Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
-
Abraham, the father of our faith,
-
was the grandfather of Jacob.
-
He was only the third generation into this walk.
-
And by the way, since I was last with you,
-
last October, I turned 75.
-
You may think that's old,
-
but that was the age
-
that Abraham began his journey.
-
You're never too old to begin something new.
-
But I have to tell you,
-
Cindy and I have been pretty busy through the years.
-
And I have found myself asking the Lord,
-
Am I getting ready to move into a new season of my life?
-
Is there a new journey that you're going to have me begin on?
-
That's going to take generations to complete.
-
I was sensing that he was saying, possibly,
-
we'll see.
-
So,
-
here we have Jacob, who's the grandson of Abraham.
-
And his father said, I want you to go to a distant place,
-
Paddan-er-ram, which is a number of hundreds of miles away.
-
And I want you to take a wife from our relatives.
-
So, Jacob, just like his father Isaac,
-
was a seed of Abraham,
-
his grandfather.
-
And Jacob was aware of the covenantal promises God had given him
-
in the beginning of his life.
-
And Jacob was aware of the covenantal promises God had given him,
-
and that these promises would flow down through the generations,
-
that is, to him.
-
So, Jennifer read Genesis 28 verses 3 and 4.
-
Now, as Jacob begins his German journey, and that evening,
-
he reaches a place where he lays down to sleep,
-
and he begins to have a revelatory dream.
-
So, Jacob, in his journey,
-
he reaches a place where he lays down to sleep,
-
and he begins to have a revelatory dream.
-
Now, read verses 12 through 15 for them.
-
Now, read verses 12 through 15 for them.
-
Now, I want you to notice that in verse 13 of that,
-
he looks up into heaven,
-
and he sees the Lord.
-
In the Hebrew, it says, he saw Yahweh.
-
At the top of the stairs, in heaven.
-
And so then let's look at the fact that this dream shocks Jacob awake,
-
and he realizes, and this is important,
-
he realizes where he is.
-
Now, read verses 16 and 17.
-
Note that the dream shocks Jacob awake,
-
and he realizes where he is,
-
and also note that he says he had not had the revelation of where he was.
-
He had been stuck in an earthly understanding,
-
even though he was a child of promise.
-
Even though Abraham had encounters with God,
-
and promises were released to God,
-
and he had the revelation of where he was.
-
Now, let's look at the fact that in verse 13,
-
he realizes where he is,
-
and he realizes where he is,
-
and he has the revelation of where he was.
-
Abraham had encounters with God,
-
and promises were released to him.
-
Here we have only a couple of generations later,
-
and rather than grow in revelation,
-
his grandson, Jacob,
-
was stuck in an earthly understanding.
-
He did not know where he was until he had the dream.
-
You'll understand the importance of this in a few minutes.
-
Note that in verse 17,
-
he receives the revelation that his where is a gate,
-
or a portal of heaven.
-
Or you could say a portal of revelation.
-
We're beginning to see a pattern by this far in the Bible.
-
And it's this.
-
When you're in a covenant relationship with God,
-
you have by virtue of that covenant,
-
access to a heavenly revelation all the time.
-
And the Lord is trying to get you to understand
-
that you need a consciousness of your where,
-
that revelatory position that you have been given on earth,
-
that allows you to look up to heaven
-
and know that the Lord himself is there,
-
and he is going to speak to you how you fit in the covenant.
-
This is very important.
-
Most people never achieve a consistent consciousness
-
of their where.
-
Most people never achieve a consistent consciousness
-
of their where.
-
And I just want you to know that there's a continuity in the Bible
-
as it relates to having this where consciousness.
-
I want you to understand something.
-
Walking in the revelation of your covenant promises,
-
unlocks a heavenly gate
-
that releases an atmosphere of heaven,
-
an atmosphere of the miraculous power of God.
-
By virtue of your covenant, by virtue of being seed of Abraham,
-
this is yours.
-
You are to walk in it.
-
Let's bring this a little closer to home.
-
Let's talk about the power of God.
-
The power of God is the power of God.
-
The power of God is the power of God.
-
Let's bring this a little closer to home.
-
Let's talk about Jesus.
-
Now we know from Galatians 3.16,
-
and you can read that.
-
You can read Galatians 3.16.
-
This is an important scripture passage.
-
In fact, we'll circle back around to this in a few minutes.
-
We have just shifted from the Old Testament to the New Testament.
-
And this is a critical scripture for you to understand.
-
Jesus was the seed of Abraham.
-
Not as if there were many.
-
Jesus was the promise that God gave to Abraham that he would have a seed.
-
And Jesus walked in that revelation.
-
He knew where ever he was.
-
There existed a gate of heaven.
-
He knew where ever he was.
-
He knew where ever he was.
-
He knew where ever he was.
-
There existed a gate of heaven
-
that released the miraculous atmosphere of heaven.
-
Now you know this if you read the New Testament.
-
He walked exhibiting signs and wonders.
-
He walked performing miracles.
-
He was feeding thousands with five loaves and two fishes.
-
Whether it was raising the dead.
-
He exhibited being totally conscious of his where.
-
He was our example.
-
It didn't stop there.
-
The disciples of Jesus were trained to walk in that revelation of where.
-
Where they were.
-
There existed a miraculous gate of heaven.
-
We see that manifested in Luke 9.
-
Verse 2 verse 2 verse 3.
-
We see that manifested in Luke 9.
-
We see that manifested in Luke 9.
-
Verse 2 verse 2 verses.
-
Which Jennifer is going to read to you.
-
Luke 9 verses 1 through 2.
-
He gave power and authority to all demons and to cure diseases.
-
He gave his 12 disciples power and authority over devils.
-
Power and authority to cure diseases.
-
Power to preach the kingdom of God.
-
Power to preach the kingdom of God.
-
Power to heal the sick.
-
Power to heal the sick.
-
Now let me tell you something.
-
In the first example, Jacob was in a place
-
and had the revelation of covenant people living in the kingdom of God.
-
Jacob was in a place.
-
And had the revelation of covenant people living in a portal of heaven.
-
By the time you get to Jesus, Jesus was a mobile gate of heaven.
-
The disciples were mobile gates of heaven.
-
Wherever they walked, they had been trained.
-
You need to understand your where.
-
Because where you are, where you go, where you walk,
-
you will create an atmosphere.
-
If you are conscious of what I have for you,
-
wherever you go, you will create an atmosphere of heaven.
-
And you will see a manifestation of heaven on earth.
-
Wherever you go.
-
Thank you for listening to our podcast.
