Thank you for always listening to our podcast.
-
We hope they are a blessing to your life. this
-
house. I love Pastor Daniel. I love this team.
-
You guys are family. And I just felt this morning
-
when I opened my eyes the first thing. I heard
-
that verse, blessed are the pure in heart. For
-
they shall see God. And I want to honor your
-
purity. When I think about this church, when
-
I think about Pastor Daniel, I just think of
-
purity. almost offensive servanthood the humility
-
you carry I don't think you realize how rare
-
that is and I just want to honor you each and
-
every one of you And I believe that what's the
-
contents of your heart, what's inside of your
-
heart, that far outweighs anything that could
-
be done on a platform. His eyes aren't searching
-
to and fro for the best preachers or for the
-
most gifted. or for the ones who have it all
-
together. He's looking for the pure ones. He's
-
looking for pure sacrifices. That he can trust
-
with his dreams. And I believe that's who you
-
are. So I just want to honor you. When I was
-
praying about this morning, Isaac knows I've
-
been going back and forth. What do I say? What
-
do I talk about? I'm not going to say I'm not
-
a preacher because I'm trying to break that lie,
-
but I am far more comfortable as a worshiper
-
than a preacher. But for some reason the Lord
-
would not let me move on from the Nazarite vow.
-
Normally I talk about worship. But I felt like
-
there was an invitation this morning to a deeper
-
lifestyle of consecration. And about holiness.
-
I don't know if you're anything like me. Maybe
-
you grew up in the church, maybe you didn't.
-
but usually when people hear the word holy or
-
holiness, there's immediately a reservation.
-
Because for me growing up, holiness, that word
-
was used as a punishment or a fear tactic. That's
-
not how a good Christian woman lives. That's
-
not how someone who's holy lives. And it was
-
all about the outward appearance. Or even behavioral
-
modification. And God's not after you being a
-
good church kid. As we were just singing, he's
-
an all -consuming fire. And he's looking for
-
those who will be holy as he is holy. So a little
-
bit about my story. I did not grow up in church.
-
I'm gonna just... kind of do the rapid fire version
-
because there's so many details. But basically
-
I grew up in Florida, a little tiny town, Daytona
-
Beach. Come on Florida people, I know what you're
-
doing here. So I grew up in a single mom household.
-
My mom's a queen. She is or is a firefighter,
-
police officer, corrections officer. She's intense.
-
She is amazing though. But I didn't grow up with
-
a father in my life. So my dad originally, my
-
mom and my dad, I'm just gonna be really raw
-
tonight, that's okay, or this morning. Basically,
-
I was the product of a one night stand. My dad
-
was told that he was completely infertile. He
-
was in between his second and third marriage
-
at the time. So when my mom found out that she
-
was pregnant, obviously naturally it was like,
-
you're crazy. There's no way that's impossible.
-
I was told by doctors that I'm infertile So for
-
the first four years of my life my dad kept my
-
existence a secret And my mom decided to raise
-
me on her own I didn't meet my biological father
-
until I was four years old. And although I loved
-
him when I met him, he was very inconsistent,
-
very in and out of my life. And there was a point
-
where my mom was like, I can't do this on my
-
own, I need help to raise Bailey. So she sent
-
word to my grandmother, my crazy grandmother,
-
to come and move down to Florida and help raise
-
me. Who in here has a crazy Pentecostal grandmother?
-
Raise your hand. I know I'm not alone. I just
-
want to say, if you have a praying grandmother,
-
you're cooked. Just give up now. because her
-
prayers are potent. So my grandmother moved down
-
and all of a sudden she's raising me. And every
-
day she's literally preaching the gospel to me.
-
I remember, even at five, six years old, being
-
woken up to the sound of her weeping in the living
-
room at four in the morning. And I actually brought
-
her Bible today. Because it's the greatest legacy
-
that I have. And so as my grandmother, for years
-
and years, praying for me and raising me. There
-
came a point where her prayers caught up to me.
-
And in middle school, as I'm being dragged to
-
church with her, there was a moment when I was
-
in eighth grade. where I heard news that my father
-
had gotten arrested. He was arrested for sexually
-
abusing a couple hundred women or something like
-
that. And obviously, that's devastating to hear
-
the news of. And that moment for me, it wasn't
-
just, oh, well, My dad's arrested, oh well. For
-
me, it just solidified the lie that I was already
-
carrying, that I was rejected, abandoned. And
-
that any hope I had for a father in my life was
-
hopeless. And I will never forget the day my
-
grandmother looked me in the eyes. And she said,
-
you are not fatherless. Before you were formed
-
in your mother's womb. He knew you. He saw you.
-
He fashioned you. Your destiny was pre -written
-
before you ever took your first breath. And at
-
the time I thought, this lady is crazy. She doesn't
-
even know what she's talking about. She's just
-
saying that because she's my grandma and she
-
has to. But the next thing you know, as an eighth
-
grader, I'm being plagued and tormented with
-
suicidal thoughts. I was self -harming. Nobody
-
knew it. And just to give you a side note, I
-
was leading worship. That whole time. That entire
-
time I was up on a stage, singing to a God I
-
did not know. But all it took was one single
-
moment for me. Where I grabbed this exact Bible.
-
I got home from school that day after hearing
-
the news about my father's arrest. And I remember
-
I literally got on the floor and I opened the
-
Bible like this and I'm like, just waiting for
-
the sky to split open or something to happen.
-
And obviously nothing did. And I'm frustrated.
-
I'm like this God that everyone keeps saying
-
he's so good. He's so faithful. He's my father.
-
Where is he now? I'm sitting there. I say out
-
loud. If you're real, prove it. And let me just
-
tell you, if you ever pray a prayer like that,
-
God's like test me. Try me. So in that moment,
-
you know how in scary movies the whole room turns
-
colder? And there's like that eerie music and
-
it gets darker. It was the opposite for me. All
-
of a sudden the room gets like 30 degrees hotter.
-
And I feel something shift in the room. And I
-
had no grid for the presence of God or for, you
-
know, His presence manifesting. I never even
-
read the Bible before. I never even prayed before.
-
And all of a sudden, I feel this tangible love
-
fill the room. And I felt someone come up behind
-
me and bear hug me. And I was terrified. Absolutely
-
terrified. But I knew that he was real. And I
-
never felt a love like that. I had never felt
-
a love like that. It's like it filled up every
-
void and every question. It didn't even make
-
sense. He didn't even have to tell me I am God.
-
It was like there was a deep knowing, a deep
-
longing that this is the one I've been searching
-
for. So from that day, I actually went to a Christian
-
school at the time because of my grandmother
-
and I remember walking up to my teachers and
-
the first thing I said to them was hypothetically
-
speaking, if this were to happen to you, what
-
would you do? And of course my teachers are like,
-
did that happen to you? I'm like, no, no, no,
-
just my friend or something. Because I had a
-
reputation of being that girl that was rebellious.
-
That laughed at other Christians. Even when I
-
would lead worship, I would think to myself.
-
They look so stupid. They're singing to the walls.
-
I have never seen God show up until it happens
-
to me. And when I was talking to my teacher,
-
what she told me was the same way that you...
-
walked into your room and you sat with your Bible
-
open and you talked to him. Do that every day.
-
I was like, okay, I guess I will. So I quickly
-
became addicted to his presence. I didn't know
-
what I was doing. There was no There was no pastor
-
telling me pray like this, do this. It was me
-
in my weakness, in my brokenness, fumbling my
-
way through relationship with God. And every
-
time he showed up, he didn't split the sky open,
-
fired I didn't descend down, but in that small
-
whisper, in the secret place, where no one knew
-
me except him, where no one's eyes were on me
-
but his, he changed everything. Literally everything.
-
So the very next year, Because of my dad's arrest,
-
my mom could no longer afford child support.
-
So all of a sudden, I'm being sent to a public
-
school. Although I was not a believer, at the
-
time that I went to the private school, all of
-
a sudden my little Christian bubble is being
-
popped. So now I'm at a school with 3 ,000 people.
-
But this time I'm burning. This time I'm in love.
-
And I remember the very first day of my high
-
school years. I prayed to the Lord on the bus
-
on the way. And I said, God, would you send revival
-
to this school? I want to be walking revival
-
today. And from that began this four year journey.
-
Where every chance I got. I was telling someone
-
about Jesus. And I wish I could tell you I was
-
perfect at it and everyone got saved. Actually,
-
the opposite happened. There was so much opposition.
-
People at school hated me. I would walk in the
-
halls and they'd be like, there's the Mother
-
Mary, there she is. And they would call me Jesus
-
freak not knowing that's a compliment. But I
-
remember even during class, I'd be talking to
-
someone and they'd be like. I am Christian. But
-
everything in their life looked just like how
-
mine did in middle school. And I remember opening
-
up the Bible and be like, no, no, no, no. Look
-
what it says. Look what it says. I was in love.
-
I was consumed. And there came a point. All of
-
a sudden the Jesus Club that I had started had
-
grown to 80 people. Which is amazing, but it
-
started to attract a lot of unwanted attention.
-
Where all of a sudden people are writing me death
-
letters. Students that I went to school with.
-
in class with, all of a sudden are writing me
-
letters saying, if you ever say the name of Jesus
-
again, we're gonna beat you up. We're gonna kill
-
your family. We're gonna set you on fire. In
-
America. And to be honest, they were all talk,
-
to be honest. And they don't know that my mom's
-
a cop. But the reality that I was walking in
-
the midst of darkness was real to me. It was
-
my everyday. And there was a day where I'm riding
-
my bike through my neighborhood. We lived by
-
the beach, so a bunch of us were riding back
-
home. We lived near the beach and a group of
-
girls who hated the Jesus Club were hiding in
-
the neighborhood and the minute that they saw
-
me they jumped us, they beat us up. And I just
-
remember The thing that they said before they
-
left us was they spit and they said, we hate
-
Jesus. And I remember laying there, literally
-
just shook about what just happened. And I remember
-
thinking to myself, it's worth it. He's worth
-
it. And my mom, of course, he wanted to press
-
charges. As she does. I remember she sat with
-
me. And my mom is a believer now, but she wasn't
-
at the time. And I remember she looked at me
-
with tears in her eyes. And she said, do you
-
really have to be that loud about Jesus? Does
-
it really take all that? It's okay if you have
-
your religion You don't have to talk about it
-
all the time And I just remember sobbing As I
-
told my mom There is no one else for me I will
-
not lay down my love for Jesus for anything.
-
Can I tell you that it was not any better after
-
that? I wish I could tell you that all of a sudden
-
the difficulty lifted. I wish I could tell you
-
that everyone loved me after that. But honestly
-
those four years of high school was a plow It
-
was a journey But I remember as I graduated high
-
school Remember I remember saying to myself Jesus
-
is worthy of this a single decision that you've
-
made in the name of radical love for Jesus, it
-
is never wasted. It's never wasted. And the reason
-
why I share my story and I share some of those
-
high school years is because I was burning and
-
I was passionate for the gospel. But in my later
-
years, as I went to Bible college, and I started
-
going to ministry, that zeal died down. Because
-
I remember everyone in high school telling me,
-
that's just young zeal, you'll get over that.
-
Ah, just let her be wild now, because she'll
-
calm down later. And I honestly bit the bait.
-
I took it. Now in my college years, I'm surrounded
-
by primarily Christians. And I began to see how
-
many Christians were living in apathy. All of
-
a sudden everyone's telling me, you need to build
-
your ministry. And I'm not knocking school. But
-
for me, it was out of duty, not love. It was
-
because I was more caught up in a Christian culture
-
than living out simple obedience to Jesus. And
-
I began to tone down this passion and this burning
-
zeal. And eventually I found myself really backslidden.
-
I found myself in rooms I never thought I'd be
-
in. With people I never thought I'd be with.
-
Making choices I knew in my heart this is not
-
what God had asked of me. But in 2016, I just
-
got off work. And I'm sitting on my bed, and
-
I'm scrolling through Facebook. And I remember,
-
I stumbled upon this live stream of a man named
-
Lu Engel. And it was the Azusa now, the call.
-
It was a gathering of about 80 ,000 believers
-
in the Coliseum in Los Angeles. And the whole
-
gathering was about prayer and fasting for the
-
turning of America back to God. And I'm at this
-
place in my life where all of a sudden, I'm only
-
18 years old. years all of a sudden became the
-
glory days. I remember when I saw God heal that
-
person in my lunchroom. I remember seeing the
-
atheist all of a sudden on his knees weeping
-
before God in my school. But all these stories
-
were Because I became a professional Christian.
-
I had forgotten the love I had at first. It all
-
became about ministry and movement. But I had
-
forgotten Him. All of a sudden it was about me
-
being this minister, but my heart was far. And
-
as I'm watching Azusa now, I see this wild 60
-
-year -old man with fire in his eyes, crying
-
out for the turning of America. And he began
-
to talk about something called the Nazareth Vowel.
-
Do you guys have your Bibles? Even if it's digital.
-
Can you flip to number six? Also, I just want
-
to say, I flipped to number six like two days
-
ago. And I found a vow my grandma had written
-
in the 80s. Write at number six. coincidence
-
okay I just want to read number six real quick
-
God spoke to Moses oh sorry that's the message
-
the Lord said to Moses speak to the Israelites
-
and say to them if a man or woman wants to make
-
a special vow a vow of separation to the Lord
-
as a Nazarite he must abstain from wine and other
-
fermented drink Must not drink vinegar made from
-
wine or from oh, I just get that or from other
-
fermented drink He must not drink grape juice
-
or eat grapes or raisins as long as he is a Nazarite
-
He must not eat anything that comes from the
-
grapevine not even the seeds or skins During
-
the entire period of his vows separation. No
-
razor may be used on his head He must be holy
-
until the period of a separation to the Lord
-
is over He must let the hair of his head grow
-
long Throughout the period of a separation to
-
the Lord he must not go near a dead body Even
-
if his own father or mother or brother or sister
-
dies He must not make himself ceremonially unclean
-
on account of them because the symbol of a separation
-
to God is on his head Throughout the period of
-
a separation he is consecrated to the Lord If
-
someone dies suddenly in his presence, thus defiling
-
the hair he is dedicated, he must shave his head
-
on the day of his cleansing, the seventh day.
-
Then on the eighth day, he must bring two doves
-
or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance
-
to the tent of meeting. The priest is to offer
-
one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt
-
offering to make atonement for him because he
-
sinned by being in the presence of the dead body.
-
That same day he is to consecrate his head. He
-
must dedicate himself to the Lord for the period
-
of a separation and must bring a year old male
-
lamb as a guilt offering. The previous days do
-
not count because he has become defiled during
-
a separation. Now this is the law for the Nazarite.
-
When the period of a separation is over, he is
-
to be brought to the entrance to the tent of
-
meeting. There he is to present his offerings
-
to the Lord. A year old male lamb without defect
-
for a burnt offering. A year old ewe lamb without
-
defect for a sin offering. A ram without defect
-
for a fellowship offering. Together with their
-
grain offerings and drink offerings and a basket
-
of bread made without yeast. Cakes made of fine
-
flour mixed with oil and wafers spread with oil.
-
The priest is to present them before the Lord
-
and make the sin offering and the burnt offering.
-
He is to present the basket of unleavened bread.
-
Is to sacrifice the ram as a fellowship offering
-
to the Lord together with this grain offering
-
and drink offering? Then at the entrance to the
-
tent of meeting the Nazarite must shave off the
-
hair that he dedicated He is to take the hair
-
and put it in the fire that is under the sacrifice
-
of the fellowship offering After the Nazarite
-
has shaved off the hair of his dedication The
-
priest is to place in his hands a boiled shoulder
-
of the ram and a cake and a wafer from the basket
-
both made without yeast. The priest shall then
-
wave them before the Lord as a wave offering.
-
They are holy and belong to the priest, together
-
with the breast that was waved and the thigh
-
that was presented. After that, the Nazarite
-
may drink wine. This is the law of the Nazarite
-
who vows his offering to the Lord in accordance
-
with the separation, in addition to whatever
-
else he can afford. He must fulfill the law or
-
the vow he has made according to the law of the
-
Nazarite. It's a mouthful, I know. Bear with
-
me.
-
Señor, no podrá acercarse a ningún cadáver, ni
-
-
con un cadáver. That same day Nazareth will consecrate
-
his head again, consecrating to the Lord the
-
time of his Nazareth and carrying a lamb of one
-
year as a sacrifice for the guilt. He will not
-
take into account the previous time because his
-
consecration was canceled. this is the Untadas
-
-
TAMIEN PRESENTARÁ LAS OFRENDAS DE CEREAL Y LAS
-
OFRENDAS LÍQUIDAS. LUEGO AL ENTRADO DE LA TIENDA
-
DE REUNION, EL NASAREO SE RAPARA LA CABEZA. TOMARÁ
-
EL CABELLO QUE CONSACRIÓ Y LO ECHARÁ AL FUEGO
-
QUE ARDE BAJO UN SACRIFICIO DE COMUNION. UNA
-
VEZ QUE EL NASAREO SE HAYA RAPADO LA CABEZA,
-
SACERDOTE TOMARÁ EL CANASTILLO UN PAN SIN LAVADURA
-
Y UNA HUELA SIN LAVADURA, MAS LA ESPALDIYA COCIDA
-
DEL CARNERO. Pondrá todo esto en manos del Nazareo.
-
-
This is the offering that the Lord will present
-
for his Nazareth, apart from what he can give
-
according to his resources. According to the
-
law of the Nazareth, he must fulfill the promise
-
he made.
