  1. Welcome to Burning Lab Podcast. The daily refresh

  2. for your life. Jesus is the center of everything

  3. we do. Burning Lab Church. I came here to ask

  4. you guys a couple of questions. How many of you

  5. want a greater level of intimacy with Jesus?

  6. Good, good, good. How many of you want a greater

  7. understanding of your identity in Jesus? I believe

  8. that intimacy births identity. You will find

  9. out who you are when you are intimate with the

  10. Lord. One day we're gonna see him face to face,

  11. guys. Are you preparing yourself for that moment?

  12. We believe not because we see, but there is coming

  13. a day where we will see him. The reward of every

  14. sacrifice we made on the earth will be fulfilled

  15. in a moment when my eyes are locked with his.

  16. Does anybody get excited about that? Or is it

  17. just me? Or is it just session four? Alright,

  18. I'm just checking. Holy Spirit, wake me up. Let's

  19. ask the Holy Spirit today to give us intimacy

  20. and identity. 1 John chapter 3 verse 2 says this.

    1 John 3:2

  21. It says, beloved, we are God's children now,

  22. and what we will be has not yet appeared. But

  23. we know that when he appears We shall be like

  24. him why because we shall see him as he is There

  25. is a perfect version of you And it will be revealed

  26. when you see Him face to face. So if you're struggling

  27. in your identity, it's because you're looking

  28. at yourself and not looking at Him. What can

  29. I fix about me? What can I change about me? What

  30. can I improve about me? See, your problem is

  31. you cannot be your standard. Perfection is your

  32. standard. Jesus is your standard. If I'm going

  33. to have any identity, it's in Him, not in me.

  34. Seeing Jesus allows my identity to be formed

  35. in Him. Look at this. Hebrews chapter 1 verse

    Hebrews 1:3

  36. 3 says this. He is the radiance of the glory

  37. of God the exact imprint of his nature and he

  38. upholds the universe by the word of his power

  39. He is the radiance That's good, I need to know

  40. He's the one that's going to light up all of

  41. heaven for eternity You understand there's no

  42. sun moon or stars in heaven The glory of the

  43. Lord and the lamb will be its lamp Do you know

  44. how bright he is? So what happens when I look

  45. at him? What happens when I look at his radiance?

  46. This is what the word says in Psalm 34 5 Those

  47. who look to him are radiant And their faces shall

  48. never be ashamed Do you see how looking at Jesus

  49. changes everything? Some of us have been looking

  50. at ourselves for far too long. We ain't getting

  51. any prettier. I'm getting a little thicker. Thicker.

  52. Guapo? I don't know. I'm just guessing here.

  53. He is the radiance of the glory of God. Can you

  54. imagine that? He is the mark of the glory of

  55. God. And it comes out from him as radiance. And

  56. when I look to him, I become like him. I believe

  57. our greatest form of ministry is radiance. I

  58. have no idea. Our greatest form of ministry is

  59. radiance. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5 14. He

  60. says you are the light of the world. He says

  61. let your light shine before others so that they

  62. may see your good works and give glory to your

  63. father who is in heaven. In other words, others

  64. will see my affection, my fire and have to attribute

  65. it to God. They'll have to attribute it to their

  66. creator. Even those who don't know him, they

  67. will see him because I see him. Do you see how

  68. our ministry is radiant? We always think it's

  69. about what I can do. All of my good works. The

  70. question really is are you on fire? How are you

  71. keeping your fire going? Do you have intimacy

  72. with Jesus? This must be the greatest question.

  73. You see my greatest ministry to Jesus is looking

  74. at Jesus. And my greatest ministry to people

  75. is looking like Jesus. I don't know about you

  76. guys, you ever think about your funeral day?

  77. You care about the flowers that are going to

  78. be there, right? You want to know who's going

  79. to show up? Some of you have bouncers ready?

  80. You want to make sure certain people don't get

  81. to come to your funeral? I know you feel bad

  82. that I'm dead now. So now you want to show up.

  83. I'm gonna have bouncers. I don't really care

  84. about any of that stuff. What I do care about

  85. is what will be said about me at my funeral.

  86. What will be said about you? He reached one million

  87. souls for Jesus. He pastored the greatest church

  88. in the world. It's called Burning Lamb Church.

  89. He had the greatest and deepest revelations of

  90. Jesus. None of these I long to hear. All good

  91. things. I long to hear, Miles looked just like

  92. Jesus. He looked just like him. I am convinced.

  93. There is no greater accomplishment than to be

  94. just like Jesus. Go find me a better one. You

  95. will not find it. If my greatest accomplishment

  96. is to be like Jesus, that must mean there's no

  97. greater calling than to set my gaze upon Jesus'

  98. face. I know this house is very familiar with

  99. Psalm 27. This is the desperate cry of David.

  100. One thing have I asked of the Lord. That will

  101. I seek after. That I may dwell in the house of

  102. the Lord all the days of my life. Why? To gaze

  103. upon the beauty of the Lord. I get to just look

  104. at Him. What is so great about golden streets

  105. in heaven? The only thing great about them is

  106. I walk on them to get to him. I can't even see

  107. where I'm walking without his light anyway. I

  108. don't want to wait till I get to heaven to gaze.

  109. You see there's a difference we can glance or

  110. we can gaze There's a big difference You see

  111. before you're married I see y 'all glancing Looking

  112. at some fine things walking by I know nobody

  113. struggles with that in here That's the other

  114. conference When you glance there is no intimacy

  115. But if I get you in front of a candlelit dinner

  116. Now we step into intimacy I want to be a gazer

  117. not a glancer We can celebrate that if we want

  118. to But the question really becomes for us. Do

  119. we love seeing a move of God? Or do we love inviting

  120. God to move in? We gotta get this people. Do

  121. we desire pursuit? Or do we desire intimacy?

  122. We must recognize the only thing to pursue is

  123. intimacy. Some of us have been living a life

  124. of pursuit, completely lacking intimacy. I glance

  125. every Sunday morning, Saturday night, I glance

  126. at the cross and we're almost distant from him

  127. because we don't know how to look at him. That's

  128. what I've come today for. I've learned that people

  129. struggle with their identity. It's not because

  130. they have an identity problem. It's because they

  131. have an intimacy problem. When you are distant

  132. from your creator, you forget what you look like.

  133. We have an intimacy problem. Remember the scripture

  134. from the Psalms. Those who look to him are radiant.

  135. Look at this part. And their faces shall never

  136. be ashamed. You see, when we see Jesus rightly,

  137. we will not walk in shame. Because when we see

  138. Jesus We get to see how he sees us You ever think

  139. about that? Oh, I desire to see the face of Jesus

  140. What happens when he looks back? How does he

  141. see me? We need to flood our minds with this

  142. thought How does Jesus see me? This is where

  143. we find the fullness of our identity. Let me

  144. tell you something. One time I went and got alone

  145. with the Lord. This will be a fun one. You know

  146. what a caboose is of a train? What is it? I'm

  147. so sorry, it's okay. I went and stayed in this

  148. this Airbnb. And it was like this this caboose

  149. of a train. Just in the middle of some land.

  150. It was red and cute. And I just went and got

  151. alone with the Lord. I don't know about you.

  152. But pretty much any time I'm expecting something

  153. from the Lord, it's always extreme. Guys, I'm

  154. looking up at the ceiling tiles during worship,

  155. and I'm just wondering, like, when's the fire

  156. coming down? So I'm thinking I'm going to this

  157. train caboose, and the Lord's just going to pick

  158. it up and bring it to heaven, and I'm going to

  159. see a vision or something. Hey, nothing wrong

  160. with this vision, though, right? Or this desire.

  161. I want it to be a little extreme. I don't want

  162. to not ask for anything from the Lord, right?

  163. But I just desired that he would speak to me

  164. while I was there. And I just said, Lord, what

  165. do you want to speak to me? And he said this

  166. to me. Everything will change when you know how

  167. I see you. Changed my life. Everything will change,

  168. Myles, when you know how I see you. I started

  169. to learn something new from this. As one of our

  170. greatest struggles as children of God, is that

  171. we attempt to see Jesus' face, based upon the

  172. condition of my flesh. I see Jesus, I look to

  173. Jesus, but there is a filter between us. Maybe

  174. you could just call it a veil, I don't know.

  175. But there's this filter and it's designed by

  176. my sin. So when I look through a filter of sin,

  177. I'm attempting to look to Jesus through my shame.

  178. But the word says when I look to him, my face

  179. should become radiant. And I should never be

  180. ashamed. How is this even possible? We look at

  181. Jesus through the lens of our failures, our sin,

  182. our evil thoughts, our past mistakes, basically

  183. everything Jesus already paid for. Doesn't he

  184. worthy of a better perception? You see, what

  185. I started to find out is that there are three

  186. different realities, but only one of them is

  187. truth. Are you ready for them? I believe that

  188. you could be set free from some things in this

  189. moment right now. Here are your three realities.

  190. How you see you, how others see you, and how

  191. Jesus sees you. Think about that for a moment.

  192. Which of these three do you want to matter the

  193. most? how you see you, how others see you, or

  194. how Jesus sees you. Here's the problem. The one

  195. that matters the most to you is the one that

  196. floods your mind the most. I know we all want

  197. it to be number three, right? But which one's

  198. flooding your mind? Oh, I just always, I can't

  199. stop thinking about how Jesus sees me. That would

  200. be the greatest problem in your life. No, the

  201. problem we face often. Is that I look at myself

  202. in the mirror And I see all my problems And when

  203. I don't have a mirror to look in I have my mind

  204. And all I can think about is what others think

  205. about me What do others say about me? These things

  206. flood my mind more than how he sees me What if

  207. right now in this room take a moment reject your

  208. thoughts reject the thoughts that people have

  209. about you Even if they're good, they're not his

  210. thoughts. He says, my thoughts are higher than

  211. your thoughts. You can't even measure how high

  212. they are. As high as the heavens are above the

  213. earth. So are my thoughts of you. That's great

  214. that you can tell me something good about myself.

  215. It still can't define me. I can't let it define

  216. me. I can't let it shape me. There's only one

  217. that matters. This one thing I'm after. If I

  218. can just gaze upon his face. Jesus, what do you

  219. see when you see me? Can we just get lost in

  220. that? What if we only pursue, how do you see

  221. me Jesus? I think we struggle with this though.

  222. We're constantly working on ourselves. And when

  223. we're not, somebody else is trying to work on

  224. us too. Nobody likes that. But if I'm going to

  225. be clay, and I have one potter, I want him to

  226. mold me. Maybe some of us have been molded and

  227. shaped. By other people's words And we wonder

  228. why God allows us to be broken sometimes Everybody

  229. hates suffering But maybe Paul was onto something.

  230. He says we don't just rejoice in glory. There's

  231. a suffering we can rejoice in. Because if there's

  232. a suffering I'm walking through right now, maybe

  233. it's my father shaping me into something new.

  234. Somebody just shout, Father shape me.
