Thank you for listening to our How about the
-
bride walking down the aisle? What happens when
-
the bride is unveiled? Now the groom has full
-
access. Into what? Intimacy. We have to remove
-
the veil. It's okay to celebrate guys It's okay
-
to get happy about the Word of God It's okay
-
to celebrate good news of Jesus There we go Thank
-
you friend Luke chapter 23 I want us to look
Luke 23 chapter mention
-
at the moments before Jesus's death on the cross.
-
Let's just look at the buildup here for a moment.
-
He's betrayed. He's abandoned. He's arrested.
-
He's denied. He's blasphemed. He's mocked. He's
-
beaten beyond the appearance of man. And he's
-
nailed to a cross. Now look at his last moments.
-
The word says, it was now about the sixth hour.
-
And there was darkness over the whole land until
-
the ninth hour. While the sun's light failed
-
And the curtain of the temple was torn in two
-
Somebody say then Jesus Calling out with a loud
-
voice Said father into your hands. I commit my
-
spirit And having said this he breathed his last
-
Jesus suffers through everything And finally
-
when the veil is torn, it's in that moment, it's
-
like he's saying on the cross, okay Father, my
-
work here is done. He was waiting for the veil
-
to be torn. The last thing that had to happen
-
for him to accomplish everything. Do you see
-
how much it matters about us being in the presence
-
of God? Do you see how much He desires to be
-
close to us? No longer does He want some high
-
priest coming in to represent you. Just once
-
a year, just to pay for your sins, just to atone
-
for your sins. No, no, no, He wants more. I want
-
to give it to Him. Hebrews chapter 6 verses 19
-
to 20 says this We have this as a sure and steadfast
-
anchor of the soul a hope that enters into the
-
inner place behind the curtain Where Jesus has
-
gone as a forerunner on our behalf? Having become
-
a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek
-
The only one, the only priest to enter through
-
the curtain In perfection was Jesus. Every priest
-
before him, they had to atone for their own sins
-
first. What happens when Jesus comes in with
-
no sins of his own? The perfect one, he tore
-
the veil. Why? So we can enter by his perfection.
-
and into his perfection. Y 'all ever wonder why
-
Jesus was baptized? Was there an old hymn that
-
he had to let down under the water? No, he said,
-
I must do this to fulfill all righteousness.
-
What's the reason for that? Now when we're baptized
-
we're baptized into his righteousness We get
-
to leave behind all unrighteousness All the dirty
-
stuff and we get to come up perfected This is
-
why the word says in Hebrews 10 This is for by
-
a single offering He has perfected for all time
-
those who are being sanctified You have already
-
been perfected Doesn't say He will perfect you.
-
We have been perfected, even as we're being sanctified.
-
That means when we look at ourselves in the mirror,
-
we see a process of sanctification. When Jesus
-
looks at us, He sees His perfected work. How
-
do you want to see you? Give me your eyes Jesus.
-
I want to see myself as you see me. I want to
-
see people as you see them. Show us Lord. Open
-
our eyes. You see how you enter his presence?
-
Is how you will see his face. And how you see
-
his face? Is how you know him. I can always tell
-
how somebody knows the Lord. By the way, they
-
read his word. You ever get a text message from
-
somebody? and you can't tell the tone of what
-
they're saying? Are they mad at me? Is this just
-
a joke? Are they actually saying it in a sweet
-
voice? When you don't know the person, you can't
-
tell. If I don't know the person who wrote this,
-
I can't tell the tone or the context of his words.
-
How you enter his presence matters. I don't want
-
to enter his presence and meet a false Jesus.
-
How can that happen? If I don't know him, I will
-
never know. How we enter matters. Let's go to
-
Hebrews chapter 10, verses 19 to 22. It says,
-
therefore, brothers, since we have confidence
-
to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,
-
by the new and living way that he opened for
-
us through the curtain. Look. that is through
-
his flesh and Since we have a great priest over
-
the house of God Let us draw near with a true
-
heart in full assurance of faith look with our
-
hearts sprinkled clean From an evil conscience
-
and our bodies wash with pure water So brothers,
-
having the freedom to enter the holy place through
-
the blood of Jesus Christ, through the new way
-
that he opened us through the veil, this is of
-
his flesh, and having a great priest over the
-
house of God, let us approach with a sincere
-
heart, in full certainty of faith, purifying
-
the hearts of evil conscience and washing the
-
bodies with pure water. When I read this scripture
-
I pick up on one thing We can only enter his
-
presence on his terms. No longer my terms. No
-
longer my filter. No longer my veil. No, I only
-
enter through Jesus. The word says the curtain
-
is his flesh. Can you imagine this just for a
-
second? He says from now on you enter the holy
-
places through my flesh, through my blood. What
-
does it look like to enter the presence of God
-
by the blood of Jesus? The way I picture this
-
is like a waterfall coming down. You ever seen
-
the movies where there's like a little cave underneath
-
the waterfall? And you can like walk through
-
the waterfall into the cave? I pictured it like
-
this with Jesus. It's like He's inviting us in.
-
But before I can even get in, I have to go through
-
His blood. So what do I look like when I get
-
to Him? I look perfected. I look like Jesus.
-
I look like the fullness of who I was supposed
-
to be. Now what happens when I get there? I can
-
look at myself and see now I've been perfected
-
How does that help me see him now? It helps me
-
see him rightly No longer do I come in bound
-
by the spirit of slavery, that would cause me
-
to fall back into fear. No, this is why we enter
-
by confidence. This is why the word says we can
-
come to the throne with boldness. I can't do
-
that when I enter through my sin, my friends.
-
The only way I can do it is when I enter through
-
the blood. Brings a whole new meaning to John
-
14 When Jesus says I am the way the truth and
-
the life No one comes to the father except through
-
me. Well, if you want to get into the presence
-
of my Father, the only way you get in is when
-
you're perfected. The only way you're perfected
-
is through me. I want an untainted experience
-
with the Lord. I don't wanna bring my sin in.
-
Why bring in debt that he's already paid for?
-
Sometimes we just have a receipt of our debt.
-
And we bring it in with us waving it around.
-
What that thing does is it blocks our view of
-
a perfected version of him. If I can't see Him
-
rightly, I will never see myself rightly. And
-
I will walk this earth all the days of my life.
-
I struggle with my identity. I think the struggle
-
of identity has to come to an end in the church.
-
Is it okay that we're a work in progress? The
-
more I see you, Jesus, the more I'll look like
-
you. Enough of this stuff where it's like, I
-
just don't look like Jesus yet. You're good.
-
There's a perfected version coming. It's only
-
unlocked when you see Him rightly. What does
-
it look like for us to be with Jesus? With our
-
hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience.
-
You guys can, let's stand up all across this
-
room. Close your eyes please. Here's where intimacy
-
forms my identity. When I look at Jesus, I get
-
to see how he is looking at me. Ask God to give
-
you the spirit of wisdom and revelation. In the
-
knowledge of Jesus So that your eyes may be opened
-
And your heart be enlightened I want to see you
-
rightly Jesus Think about it When you come through
-
Jesus to get to Jesus, we finally get to hear
-
his thoughts. I finally get to know the right
-
tone of his voice. I can reject all of my own
-
thoughts. I can reject everybody else's thoughts
-
about me. And I can hear what he has to say about
-
me. Righteous. Holy. perfected, my child, my
-
beloved, my bride, my delight is in her. Jesus
-
open up our ears today. Let us hear your voice
-
now more than ever Lord. Remove the veil fully
-
Jesus. Let us enter in by your terms. Let us
-
enter through by your blood. I want to see you
-
perfectly Jesus. The day
