Welcome to Burning Lamb Podcast A daily refresh
-
for your life Jesus is the center of everything
-
we do Burning Lamb Church So on this day we're
-
going to continue with a very special series.
-
The Lord has been teaching us on how to abide
-
in Him. This has been a series that has transformed
-
our hearts, our character, and He has given us
-
the key tools to be able to remain in this walk.
-
What a week we had of abiding in Him. of Christ,
-
right? Everything happened. For the church, it's
-
very important to be aware of the times. If the
-
church isn't aware of the times, then we become
-
irrelevant. We stop being the salt of this world.
-
And the Lord called us to be that. And that is
-
why it's so important to be aware. Because your
-
prayer is important. Because your voice on this
-
earth is important. Because each one of us that
-
are here, we carry a point of influence in our
-
surroundings. You carry power within you. This
-
week we had a very sad news about a A brother
-
in the faith. He was assassinated. He was silent.
-
Through hate. Through the way of not being able
-
to tolerate him. But his voice has been a very
-
prophetic. prophetic voice on this nation, especially
-
in universities and schools, where the Word of
-
God was preached without any compromise. It wasn't
-
compromised. the evidence of Jesus was proven.
-
And now this is the time for the church to arise.
-
This is the time for you and I to assume our
-
position. Today is the day the Lord is calling
-
us from a place of comfort. Because it has been
-
enough, our point of... of comfort, where we
-
have heard more the sound of the world. And it's
-
time for the church to rise and speak. This is
-
the time for the church to rise up and speak.
-
Today, let's go to John 15. So we're going to
-
start from verse four forward. John chapter 15
-
-
y se les concederá. Mi padre es glorificado cuando
-
ustedes dan mucho fruto y muestran así that are
-
my disciples. Just as the Father has loved me,
-
I have also loved you. Stay in my love. If you
-
obey my commandments, you will remain in my love.
-
Just as I have obeyed the commandments of my
-
Father and I remain in his love. les he dicho
-
esto para que tenga mi alegría y así su alegría
-
sea completa este es mi mandamiento que se amen
-
los unos a los otros así como yo los he amado
-
a ustedes nadie tiene mayor amor nadie tiene
-
-
a ustedes y ustedes no me escogieron a mí sino
-
que yo los escogí a ustedes y los comisioné para
-
que vayan y den fruto y fruto que perdure y así
-
el padre le dará todo lo que pidan en mi nombre
-
ese es mi mandamiento que se amen los unos a
-
los otros you could read it in English. Okay,
-
so we're going to go to John 15, chapter 15,
-
verse 4. Abide in me, and I in you, as the branch
-
cannot bear fruit of itself. Unless it abides
-
in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide
-
in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He
-
who abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit,
-
for without me you can do nothing. If anyone
-
does not abide in me, he is cast out as a branch
-
and is withered, and gather them and throw them
-
in the fire and they are burned. If you abide
-
in me and my words abide in you, you will ask
-
whatever you desire, and it shall be done for
-
you. By this my Father is glorified, that you
-
bear much fruit, so you will be my disciples.
-
And as the Father loved me, I have also loved
-
you, abiding my love. If you keep my commandments,
-
you will abide in my love, just as I have kept
-
my Father's commandments. and I abide in his
-
love. These things I have spoken to you that
-
my joy may remain in you and that your joy may
-
be full. This is my commandment that you have
-
done, that you have loved one another as I have
-
loved you. Greater love has no one than this.
-
than to lay down one's life for his friend. You
-
are my friends if you do whatever I command you.
-
No longer do I call you servants, for a servant
-
does not know what his master is doing. But I
-
have called you my friends for all the things
-
that I have heard my father and I have made known
-
to you. You did not choose me, but I have chose
-
you and appointed you that you should go and
-
bear fruit and that your fruit should remain.
-
That whatever you ask my father in my name, he
-
may give you. These things I command. that you
-
love one another. If the world hates you, you
-
know that it hated me before it hated you. If
-
you were of this world, the world would love
-
its own, yet because you're not of this world,
-
but I chose you out of the world, therefore the
-
world hates you. Remember the word that I said
-
to you, a servant is not greater than the master.
-
If they persecuted me, they will also persecute
-
you. If they keep my word, they will keep yours
-
also. but all these things they will do to you
-
for my name's sake because they do not know me
-
who sent me I had not come and spoken to you
-
they have come they have no sin but now they
-
have no excuse for their sin he who hates me
-
hates my father also Lord we honor the saints
-
of your word this morning. We pray that this
-
word is planted in our being. So in John 15 there
-
are instructions of eternal life for you and
-
I. It's a word that will forever remain fresh
-
and it will be a reminder for our lives. That's
-
why the Word of God doesn't change. That's why
-
it remains forever and ever. And it will always
-
be as effective. But we're going to break this
-
down a bit. It says abiding me. This word abide
-
comes from the word menos. It means to remain
-
constant. That's what the Lord was telling the
-
church and His disciples. Stay firm. Remain constant.
-
But there is something that I like here. It says
-
stay firm with the ability to withhold. To bear.
-
To resist a strike. So Jesus wasn't just saying,
-
so remain here by me and let's just be friends.
-
And let's just chill. Let's just soak in the
-
presence. He was saying, abiding me in a firm
-
way, with strength, with the ability to bear.
-
Because in the days to come, you're going to
-
need this. The word meno also means to remain
-
without mixtures So the Lord was telling the
-
church remain pure with the message of the gospel
-
It's enough with so many mixtures that we have
-
nowadays. Back then they also had mixtures. Is
-
the Father worshipped here or there? Is this
-
the way, this is not the way? But the message
-
of Jesus when He says to remain, It says to remain
-
to My words and do not mix them. Do not interpret
-
these your own way. Abide in Me just as I abide
-
in you. It says He who does not abide in Me is
-
withered. That's a strong word. When you cast
-
someone out, it's not that you keep somebody
-
away from you. That word to be cast, it comes
-
from a word that means, To be cast to the care
-
of another. So in other words he would say, you're
-
no longer under my care. Who do you think he
-
was casting them to the care of who? This is
-
a strong word. It says, he who does not abide
-
in me is cast. He's given to the care of another.
-
If you abide in Me and My words, and when He
-
says My words, it refers to the word Rema. It
-
means the words or sayings of the mouth of God,
-
what Jesus was teaching us, without a self -interpretation.
-
It is what it is. Let's not try to get a leg
-
to the cat. Let's not try to complicate the Gospel.
-
When Jesus made it so simple, There are very
-
clear instructions, abide in me and I in you.
-
And here there is a very key word and we spoke
-
about this during the pre -retreat. The word
-
abide here, it makes reference to the word union.
-
This word union is as though you mix two particles
-
to the point that you're not able to recognize
-
the former nature of that. So abide in me, function
-
in me, let's become one, and there won't be any
-
memory of the past. You mix water with red ink,
-
you mix it. When you mix that water, what color
-
does the water become? Red, right? If you say
-
green, we're gonna pray for you. So when you
-
mix it together, it becomes red. When you see
-
the red water, can you see how the water looked
-
like before? There is no way to see the division.
-
That's what Jesus was referring to, that when
-
they see Him, they see Him. That when they see
-
us, they see Jesus. Jesus, he speaks about re
-
-abiding in him and about the vine. He says,
-
I am the vine and you are the branches. So let's
-
see a vine here. This is a vine. The grapes are
-
the fruit. You can see the branch. Right? If
-
you see the branch, it looks like this. And from
-
the branches, something comes out. And from that,
-
then you see a fruit. So the fruit doesn't even
-
come out directly from the branch. It says, you
-
are the branches. But the fruit, you don't bear
-
the fruit. The fruit is connected to something
-
else. That's why nowadays we have a very frustrated
-
church, trying to produce fruit. Jesus is very
-
specific when He relates us to life. You are
-
the branches, and I am the vine. But if you see
-
something there, there is something that is really
-
producing the fruit. Nowadays the church is so
-
tired of trying to produce, but we can do this
-
on our own strength. When we talk about abiding
-
in Him, this is making reference to a union that
-
is a constant and growing relationship. It doesn't
-
speak as though it is an event. Like we connect
-
to the vine when we are in a service. When you
-
come to church, this is an event. An event does
-
not produce fruit in your life. Glory to God
-
for the conferences. Glory to God for the services.
-
But if you don't have a relationship with the
-
Son of God, there is no fruit that you can bear.
-
Jesus makes a reference of a vine that is completely
-
stuck to the tree. A vine and a branch. One is
-
greater than the other. One gives life, a nutritious
-
life. The necessary surroundings and environments
-
so the other one can live. because of the tree.
-
There is a branch. Nowadays we live in a culture
-
where the center of everything is us. We do it
-
for us and because of us. With motives that are
-
hidden with a personal agenda. trying to produce
-
fruit so they can see my tree. And you know how
-
the Christians, they hide this. Oh, thanks to
-
the Lord. Thank God. It was because of God. How
-
much of this fruit is real by the Spirit of God
-
and not by the human strength? Every good fruit
-
is highlighted out of this union with the tree.
-
A rotten tree cannot produce something good.
-
That's why with our perfect union with the vine,
-
with the tree which is God, we're able to produce
-
good fruits. The fruits of the Spirit are for
-
the earth. When we go to heaven we will need
-
this. We're cultivating the gifts of the spirit,
-
but we don't work with the fruits. We love the
-
gift of the Spirit But we don't abide in the
-
fruit of the Spirit The Lord is calling a generation
-
that is able to carry the fruit of the Spirit
-
of God That's why abiding in Him participants
-
del fruto del espíritu de dios is that we're
-
able to be partakers of the spirit of god galatas
