  18. adore

  19. him. Oh come let us adore

  20. him

  21. the Lord

  22. of God.

  23. I [singing and music]

  24. saw blood

  25. though he

  26. not the

  27. god be

  28. not cated.

  29. Oh come let us adore [music]

  30. him. Oh come let us adore

  31. him. Christ

  32. the Lord.

  33. Sing

  34. of angels.

  35. Sing in exultation.

  45. Come let us

  46. standing on worship.

  47. [music] Raise a voice to worship.

  48. King of kings.

  49. standing on worship.

  50. Raise a voice [music] in worship.

  51. King of kings and lord of lords.

  52. It came [music]

  53. upon the midnight,

  54. the glorious son

  55. >> [music]

  56. >> I never

  57. from angels bending near the earth to

  58. touch the hearts of gold.

  59. Peace on the earth of good will to men

  60. from him graciously.

  61. The world needs

  62. still light to hear the angels sing.

  63. With the world of sin and strife, the

  64. world has suffered alone.

  65. Beneath the angels straight.

  66. [music]

  67. So church,

  68. you are going to be able to sing this

  69. morning without lyrics. That's just what

  70. we're going to do. At some point, there

  71. may be a man that comes with a computer

  72. and he connects things and he has the

  73. things to connect [music] and you will

  74. be able to see words on a screen that

  75. will bless your heart. But until that

  76. time, we're going to ask that you sing

  77. by our yelling at you in leadership. And

  78. so, uh, you may know the words to the

  79. songs, you may not know. And so, I'm

  80. going to ask you to stand with me. And

  81. in the posture that we may not be common

  82. to, which is to [music]

  83. give everything that we have to God,

  84. including the tension we have around

  85. lyrics or whatever that is, God, we

  86. surrender all to you. We surrender our

  87. worship to you. We surrender our church

  88. to you. We thank you, God, for our

  89. church, for the ways you've just

  90. continued [music] to generously pour out

  91. on us the love of this community. And so

  92. we say more, Lord, this morning, God, is

  93. not about us. It's about you and giving

  94. back to you [music] what you deserve,

  95. which is everything.

  96. And so, like the rest of the church

  97. globally, we say these pray these three

  98. words in prayer this morning. We say,

  99. "Come, [music] Holy Spirit.

  100. Come Holy Spirit.

  101. We hunger for you God.

  102. Now, Jake's a pretty good drummer, but

  103. you can help him by clapping if you

  104. want.

  105. The lyrics of this song go something

  106. like this.

  107. Let our praise

  108. be your welcome and let our songs

  109. [music]

  110. be a sign because we are here for you.

  111. We're here for you this morning, God.

  112. Let our praise [singing]

  113. be your welcome.

  114. Let our songs [music]

  115. be a sign we are here for you. [singing]

  116. We are here for you. [music] Let your

  117. breath come from heaven. Fill our hearts

  118. with your life. Let our breath

  119. come from [music] heaven. [singing]

  120. Fill our hearts

  121. with your life. We are here. We are here

  122. for you.

  123. >> We are here for you. [music]

  124. >> Let's sing it again. Let our praise be

  125. your welcome. Let our praise

  126. be [singing and music] your welcome. Let

  127. our songs be a sign.

  128. >> Let our songs

  129. >> be [music] a sign. [singing]

  130. We are here for you.

  131. >> We are here for [music] you.

  132. >> Let your breath come from heaven. Fill

  133. our hearts.

  134. >> Let your breath [singing]

  135. come from [music] heaven.

  136. Fill our hearts

  137. >> with your life.

  138. >> with your [singing] life. We [music] are

  139. here for you.

  140. We are here [music and singing] for you.

  141. >> To you. Our hearts are open. Nothing

  142. here is hidden. To you our [music]

  143. hearts are open. [singing]

  144. You are our heart's desire.

  145. >> You are one.

  146. >> You alone are holy.

  147. >> You alone are only you are worthy.

  148. [singing]

  149. Only [music] you are worthy. Lord, let

  150. your fire fall down.

  151. >> Let your firefold down.

  152. >> To you. Our hearts are open. To you our

  153. hearts are open. [singing]

  154. [music] Nothing here is you are one

  155. desire.

  156. >> You are one desire.

  157. >> You alone are holy.

  158. >> You alone.

  159. >> Only you are worthy. [singing and music]

  160. Only you are worthy. God, let your fire

  161. fall down. [singing]

  162. >> Come Holy Spirit. Let our shout be your

  163. anthem. Let our shout [music]

  164. >> be your anthem.

  165. >> You're renowned.

  166. >> You're reowned.

  167. >> Fill the sky. Fill the sky.

  168. >> We are here [music] for you.

  169. >> We are here for you.

  170. >> Let your word move in power. Let what's

  171. dead come to life.

  172. >> Let your word

  173. move [singing] in power.

  174. Let what's dead

  175. come to [singing] life. We [music] are

  176. here for you.

  177. >> We are here for you.

  178. >> To you. Our hearts are open

  179. >> to you. Our [singing] hearts are open.

  180. Nothing [music] here is hidden. You are

  181. our one [singing] desire.

  182. >> You alone are holy. [music] Only you are

  183. worthy. [singing]

  184. God let your heart down.

  185. >> To you our hearts are open.

  186. [singing and music]

  187. Nothing here is hidden. You are

  188. [singing] our one [music] desire.

  189. You alone [singing] are holy, holy, you

  190. are worthy. God, [music] let your fire

  191. fall down.

  192. >> We welcome you with praise.

  193. >> We welcome [singing] you with praise. We

  194. welcome you with praise. [music]

  195. Almighty God of love, be welcomed

  196. [singing] in this place. We welcome you

  197. with praise. We [music] welcome you with

  198. praise. [singing] Almighty God of love,

  199. [music] be welcomed in this. We welcome

  200. you with praise. We welcome [singing]

  201. you with praise. [music] Almighty God of

  202. love, be welcomed [singing] in this

  203. place. We welcome you with praise.

  204. [music] We welcome you with praise.

  205. Almighty God of love.

  206. >> Let every heart adore. Be welcomed in

  207. [music and singing] this place. Let

  208. every heart adore. Let every soul awake.

  209. Almighty God of love, be welcomed

  210. [music] in [singing] this place. We

  211. welcome you with praise. We welcome you

  212. with praise. [music]

  213. Almighty God of [singing] love, be

  214. welcomed in this place.

  215. [music]

  216. >> Our mission as a church is to welcome

  217. Jesus into all of life. And so just

  218. begin in your mind's eye picturing those

  219. things where Jesus needs [music] to be

  220. welcomed. Come Holy Spirit.

  221. And the song says, "We welcome you with

  222. praise."

  223. So there's a sense of expectation that

  224. when we welcome Jesus into all of life

  225. that the bigness of God, the amazingness

  226. of God meets our need.

  227. So let's sing again. We welcome you with

  228. praise in those things. We welcome you

  229. with praise. We welcome you with praise.

  230. Almighty God of love, be welcomed in

  231. [singing and music] this place. We

  232. welcome you with praise. We welcome

  233. [singing]

  234. you with praise. [music] Almighty God of

  235. love, be welcomed [singing] in [music]

  236. this place.

  237. >> With praise, all praise to the King of

  238. Kings. All glory, honor, power be to the

  239. King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

  240. You are worthy, God. Worthy, worthy,

  241. worthy is the Lord God Almighty. The one

  242. who is and is to come

  243. and you are there, God, in our need. You

  244. are here in our need. [music] You will

  245. be there in our need.

  246. All the kingdoms.

  247. We started out this uh service singing

  248. without lyrics. And so I'm going [music]

  249. to ask you to sing again this one word.

  250. Hallelujah.

  251. Hallelu.

  252. [singing]

  253. Hallelu.

  254. Hallelujah.

  255. Hallelujah. [singing]

  256. [music]

  257. Feel

  258. free to be still and then whenever

  259. you're ready you can have a seat.

  260. And we're going to welcome our sages.

  261. That doesn't just mean old people.

  262. We're going to welcome our sages. those

  263. who in the church we lift up in honor.

  264. They pray regularly for you

  265. individually. [music]

  266. They reach out to you all the time for

  267. how they can pray for you. We asked a

  268. couple to welcome us into this Advent

  269. day of love.

  270. Love came down at Christmas, not as a

  271. feeling, nor as a sentiment on a

  272. greeting card, but as a person. Jesus,

  273. God in a helpless baby's body, was born

  274. on the edges to an unwed teenage mother

  275. in an occupied land, visited first by

  276. shepherds, the overlooked night shift

  277. workers of the day. Mhm.

  278. >> This is how love entered the world.

  279. Choosing the margins, stepping toward

  280. the forgotten, making room where no one

  281. else would. When we receive that kind of

  282. love, undeserved, pursuing, relentless,

  283. it changes us. It won't let us stay

  284. comfortable. It compels us to love the

  285. same way, boldly, sacrificially,

  286. reaching out to the lonely, the hurting,

  287. the left out.

  288. >> First John 4:19,

    1 John 4:19

  289. we have, we love each other because he

  290. loved us first.

  291. >> [clears throat]

  292. >> And in Matthew 25:35-4,

  293. Jesus said, "For I was hungry and you

  294. fed me. I was thirsty and you gave me a

  295. drink. I was a stranger and you invited

  296. me into your home. I was naked and you

  297. gave me clothing. I was sick and you

  298. cared for me. I was in prison and you

  299. visited me." Then these righteous ones

  300. will reply, "Lord, when did we ever see

  301. you hungry and feed you or thirsty and

  302. give you something to drink? or a

  303. stranger and show you hospitality or

  304. naked and give you clothing. When did we

  305. ever see you sick or in prison and visit

  306. you? And the king will say, "I tell you

  307. the truth. When you did it to one of the

  308. least of these, my brothers and sisters,

  309. you were doing it to me."

  310. [clears throat]

  311. This fourth candle is the candle of

  312. love. It reminds us the God who crossed

  313. the universe to find us now sends us to

  314. cross the street, the room, the divide.

  315. >> Jesus has come. Jesus is here. Jesus is

  316. coming again. Come, Lord Jesus. Set our

  317. hearts ablaze with your love today and

  318. every day. We light the love candle.

  319. Whether it's serving at Mission

  320. Vineyard, helping a neighbor, or

  321. partnering with One Hope for Kids, we

  322. become the hands and feet of Jesus. We

  323. join in your kingdom work, letting the

  324. love of Christ shine through us. Amen.

  325. [music]

  326. You're welcome to stand with us again in

  327. worship.

  328. And you've come

  329. to bring peace,

  330. to be love,

  331. to [singing] be nearer to us. [music]

  332. You've come

  333. to bring [singing] life,

  334. to be life,

  335. to shine brighter [singing]

  336. in us. So we met you well,

  337. God [singing]

  338. [music] with us.

  339. >> You've come.

  340. You've come to bring [singing and music]

  341. peace,

  342. to be love,

  343. to be nearer to us. You've come

  344. [singing and music]

  345. to bring light,

  346. to be [singing] light, [music] to shine

  347. brighter in us. So, we [music]

  348. [singing]

  349. are God with [singing]

  350. us.

  351. our [music] deliverer.

  352. You [singing] are savior.

  353. In your presence we find [music] our

  354. strength [singing]

  355. over everything. [music] Our redemption.

  356. God with us. [singing]

  357. You are God with us.

  358. And you've [singing and music] come

  359. to behold

  360. to this world

  361. for your honor [singing]

  362. name. And you've come

  363. to take sin, [music] to bear shame,

  364. and to [singing] coner the grave. Oh, we

  365. [music]

  366. [singing]

  367. are God with [singing]

  368. love. [music]

  369. Our

  370. deliverer,

  371. you [music] are savior.

  372. In [singing] your presence we find our

  373. strength [music] over everything.

  374. Our redemption [singing]

  375. God. With

  376. >> our deliverer,

  377. >> our deliverer, [singing]

  378. you are savior. [music] In your presence

  379. we find our strength [singing]

  380. over everything. [music]

  381. Our redemption. [singing]

  382. God with us. [music]

  383. You are [singing] God with us.

  384. Come [singing and music] Holy Spirit.

  385. >> You are here.

  386. You are holy.

  387. We are [singing] standing

  388. in your glory.

  389. You [music and singing] are here.

  390. You are holy.

  391. We are [singing and music] standing

  392. in your glory.

  393. You [singing] are here.

  394. You [music] are holy.

  395. We are standing

  396. in [singing] your glory.

  397. You [music] are here.

  398. You [singing] are holy.

  399. We are standing

  400. in your glory. [singing]

  401. You are here.

  402. You are

  403. [music]

  404. >> You are here.

  405. >> You are

  406. my [music and singing] God.

  407. >> You are here.

  408. >> You [singing] are here.

  409. You are holy. [music] We are standing

  410. [singing] in your glory.

  411. You are here. [music] You are holy.

  412. [singing]

  413. We are standing

  414. in your glory. [music]

  415. Lord,

  416. >> our deliverer, [singing]

  417. you are savior.

  418. In your presence we find [music]

  419. our strength [singing]

  420. over everything. [music]

  421. Our redemption. God with us. Our

  422. deliverer,

  423. >> you are our God. [singing]

  424. >> Our deliverer,

  425. you are [music] savior.

  426. In your presence [singing] we find our

  427. [music] strength. For everything

  428. [singing]

  429. our redemption God with us.

  430. >> You are God. You are God.

  431. >> With us.

  432. >> You are God.

  433. with [singing] us.

  434. Be a God [music] with us.

  435. >> Some of you have scriptures coming to

  436. your mind. Just start yelling them out.

  437. Just go ahead.

  438. >> [music]

  439. [music]

  440. >> There's no

  441. Thank you God for your word.

  442. Before

  443. I spoke a word, you were singing over

  444. me.

  445. You have been [singing] so so good to

  446. me.

  447. Before I took a breath, you breathe your

  448. life in me.

  449. >> You [music] have been [singing] so so

  450. kind to me.

  451. >> Oh, [singing] the overwhelming,

  452. neverending, [singing]

  453. [music] reckless love of God.

  454. Oh, [singing] it chases [music] me down.

  455. But still I'm leaves the 99. [music]

  456. I [singing] couldn't earn it. I don't

  457. deserve it. Still [singing] you give

  458. yourself [music] away.

  459. >> All the [singing] overwhelming

  460. neverending

  461. [music] love of God.

  462. When I was your foe, still your love

  463. fought for me.

  464. You have been so so [singing] good to

  465. me.

  466. >> When I felt no [singing] word, you paid

  467. it all for me.

  468. >> You have been so so kind to me. [music]

  469. [singing]

  470. Oh, the overwhelming

  471. [music and singing] neverending

  472. reckless love of God. Oh, [singing] it

  473. chases me down. [music]

  474. Fight till I'm found. Leaves the 99.

  475. [music]

  476. I [singing] couldn't earn it. I don't

  477. deserve it. Still you [singing] give

  478. yourself [music]

  479. away.

  480. Oh, the overwhelming,

  481. neverending,

  482. reckless [singing] love of God.

  483. >> There's no shadow you won't light up,

  484. mountain you won't climb up, coming

  485. after me.

  486. There's no wall you won't kick down, lie

  487. you won't tear down, coming after me.

  488. There's no shadow you won't light up.

  489. Mountain you [singing and music] won't

  490. climb up. Coming after me.

  491. >> No lie [singing] you won't tear [music]

  492. down. Lie you won't tear down. Coming

  493. after me.

  494. [music]

  495. >> No shadow you [singing] won't light up.

  496. Mountain you won't climb up. Coming

  497. [music] after me. [singing]

  498. Snow wall you won't [singing] kick down.

  499. Lie you won't tear [music] down. Coming

  500. after me.

  501. Oh the [singing and music] overwhelming,

  502. neverending,

  503. reckless love [singing] of God. Oh it

  504. chases me [music] down, fights till I'm

  505. found. [singing]

  506. Leaves the 99. [music]

  507. I couldn't earn it. [singing]

  508. >> I don't deserve it. [music] Still you

  509. give [singing] yourself away.

  510. >> Oh, the overwhelming [singing and music]

  511. neverending

  512. reckless love.

  513. You can be seated for a moment if you'd

  514. like.

  515. What a great day to invite each of you

  516. and all of us to this table.

  517. It's not ours, but the Lord's. Thank

  518. you. Thank you, Lord. Jesus [music]

  519. invites everyone who follows him to come

  520. with open hearts.

  521. If you happen to be one [music] that is

  522. not following him today, he still

  523. invites you to come today. This is a

  524. table of grace not based on our

  525. worthiness but on his love.

  526. If you want to [music] receive this

  527. love, you are welcome to come today

  528. especially.

  529. This is a moment of remembrance [music]

  530. and a time to meet Jesus who is present

  531. with us always, but especially today in

  532. a very special way. As we've heard, this

  533. fourth day of [music] Advent is all

  534. about Jesus's love. And certainly this

  535. table and what is offered to us at this

  536. table is one of the greatest expressions

  537. of his love to each one of us. The

  538. Apostle Paul

  539. in uh Apostle John, excuse me, in

  540. Revelation 19:7-9 [music]

    Revelation 19:7–9

  541. says, "Let us celebrate. Let us rejoice.

  542. Let us give him the glory. The marriage

  543. of the lamb has [music] come. his bride

  544. is made ready, which is all of us. She

  545. has been given a bridal gown of bright

  546. and shining linen. The linen is the

  547. righteousness of the saints. Then the

  548. angel said to me, "Write this. Blessed

  549. are those invited to the wedding supper

  550. of the Lamb."

  551. This is an invitation to all of you

  552. today.

  553. "These are the true words of God," said

  554. the lamb. As we approach Jesus's table

  555. today, this

  556. fourth Sunday in Advent, let us rejoice

  557. in [music] his presence.

  558. know today that each one of us here is

  559. [music] on his mind and in his heart.

  560. Every single one of you, me.

  561. May we call to mind the greatness of God

  562. the Father and his great love through

  563. the gift of his son for us. He has

  564. demonstrated

  565. this love by Jesus's advent and his

  566. sacrifice.

  567. So as we approach the table today, let

  568. us pray for a reawakened wonder

  569. this Advent season [music] at the way

  570. the God of glory has loved us by the

  571. birth of his son and continues to love

  572. each and every one of us, no matter how

  573. we feel about that.

  574. So I extend an invitation to every one

  575. of you, those that you know him [music]

  576. certainly you'll come. But this may be

  577. the day that you need to surrender to

  578. him, meet him again, or just come before

  579. him with your heart in your arms wide

  580. open.

  581. So, as as our

  582. custom, we'll [music] ask you to come

  583. down these inside aisles to the tables

  584. and then go back the outside. Let me

  585. pray before you come and we'll invite

  586. those who are serving to come while I

  587. pray. Lord, thank you especially today.

  588. Thank you for your love. Uh it is almost

  589. unknown to us the kind of love that you

  590. have. But you over and over and over

  591. again give us a picture of your love,

  592. give us your presence of love, to give

  593. us your Holy Spirit, to give us your

  594. word, all because you love us. So as we

  595. come today, Lord, we just thank you that

  596. we know you. Thank you for your love for

  597. us and that you express it to us each

  598. and every day, but especially today. So

  599. we pray this in Jesus name. Amen. Please

  600. come.

  601. There's no shadow you [singing] won't

  602. light up. Mountain you won't climb up.

  603. coming after me.

  604. There's no wall you won't kick down, lie

  605. you won't tear down. Coming after

  606. [music and singing] me. Come, Holy

  607. Spirit. There's no shadow you won't

  608. light up, mountain you won't climb up.

  609. Coming after me.

  610. There's no [singing] wall you won't kick

  611. [music] down. Lie you won't tear down.

  612. coming after me. [singing]

  613. >> There's no shadow you won't light up.

  614. [singing] You won't climb up. Coming

  615. after me.

  616. There's no wall you [singing] won't kick

  617. down. Light you won't tear down. Coming

  618. after me.

  619. >> There's no shadow [music and singing]

  620. you won't light up. Mountain you won't

  621. climb up. coming after

  622. [music and singing] me.

  623. >> There's no shadow you won't kick down.

  624. [music]

  625. Lie you won't tear down. Coming after

  626. me.

  627. >> There's no shadow you won't [singing]

  628. light up. Mountain you won't climb up.

  629. Coming after [music] me.

  630. >> No wall [singing] you won't kick [music]

  631. down. Lie you won't tear down. coming

  632. after me. [music]

  633. >> Oh, the [singing]

  634. overwhelming

  635. neverending

  636. [singing] reckless [music] love of God.

  637. Oh, it chases [singing] me down. Fights

  638. till I'm found. Leaves the 99. [music]

  639. I couldn't hurt it. I don't [singing]

  640. deserve [music] it. till you give

  641. yourself away.

  642. [singing] Oh, the overwhelming,

  643. [music] neverending,

  644. [singing]

  645. reckless love of God.

  646. Going to ask you to [music] stand and we

  647. will say the Lord's Prayer together. As

  648. you know, uh, we have it in English and

  649. in Spanish here, but we'd like for you

  650. to say it in the language with which you

  651. are most comfortable and the language

  652. that you connect to the Lord with. So,

  653. let's pray together. Our Father, who art

  654. in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy

  655. kingdom come, thy will be done on earth

  656. as it is in heaven. Give us this day our

  657. daily bread. And forgive us our

  658. trespasses [music]

  659. as we forgive those who trespass against

  660. us. And lead us not into temptation, but

  661. deliver us from evil. For thine is the

  662. kingdom and the power and the glory

  663. forever and ever. Amen.

  664. Won't you take a little break, visit

  665. with each other, and we'll come back

  666. with [music] announcements in a moment.

  667. Nice. Nice work. Yeah. Nice.

  668. [music]

  669. >> [music]

  670. [music]

  671. >> Thank you so much.

  672. You get

  673. Good morning, Mission Vineyard.

  674. If you'll find your way to your seats,

  675. we'll get started with some

  676. announcements.

  677. My name is Kate, and it's a joy to

  678. welcome you to church this morning. So,

  679. welcome. Welcome to Mission Vineyard.

  680. Thanks, Ken. Whether you're worshiping

  681. with us online or you're here with us in

  682. person, we are so grateful and we hope

  683. that you feel welcome to our church

  684. family this morning. If you are new to

  685. Mission Vineyard, please be sure that

  686. you take one of these um great welcome

  687. bags on your way out if you haven't

  688. grabbed one already. Um there are some

  689. on the back table, the welcome table.

  690. And in that bag um are several things

  691. for you. One is information about our

  692. church, information about the vineyard

  693. movement that we're part of, and then uh

  694. there's a connect card. So, we just ask

  695. that you would fill this out and drop it

  696. in the offering basket as we pass those

  697. or there's also um a place that you can

  698. fill it out online at

  699. connect.missionard.org.

  700. We would love to add you to our weekly

  701. church newsletter that goes out um by

  702. email just so you are informed of

  703. everything that's happening throughout

  704. the week. And so that's um how you can

  705. do that is put your email address here,

  706. your phone number if you're comfortable

  707. adding your ma physical mailing address.

  708. Our pastor John will send you just a

  709. note of gratitude for um joining us

  710. today. So if you'll fill that out, we

  711. would greatly appreciate it. Also in

  712. that bag is something we call a mana

  713. bag. And this is something for you to

  714. give away to those you may encounter

  715. throughout the week that might be in

  716. need of a blessing from God. And so

  717. there's just some practical supplies for

  718. you to give away. So, we encourage you

  719. um whether you're new or a regular

  720. partner with us, grab one of those mana

  721. bags also on the back table. And then

  722. our announcement for the week is

  723. Christmas Eve is coming up. And so,

  724. Christmas Eve service, yay, um is always

  725. a lovely candlelight, beautiful service

  726. on Christmas Eve. So, you're invited at

  727. 5:00 here at the Duzium. Um we have a

  728. tradition of bringing cookies and baked

  729. goods to church on Christmas Eve. Um but

  730. not so that we can eat more sugar, but

  731. so that we can go bless um those

  732. [laughter]

  733. Ken goes home and eats it. So that's so

  734. that we can bless those who are working

  735. on Christmas Eve. And so um if you're

  736. able, please bring a plate or several of

  737. cookies, brownies, baked goods, and then

  738. we will leave church um on Christmas Eve

  739. and go deliver um those cookies and

  740. treats to any open business um that you

  741. see where people might be working on

  742. Christmas Eve. And so we invite you to

  743. join us in that. but they're also on the

  744. back table. I'm holding this is because

  745. these are invitations um to give to

  746. someone that you might want to attend um

  747. our [clears throat] Christmas Eve

  748. service. So, those are also on the

  749. welcome table. Take some invitations as

  750. you go. And then I am going to pray for

  751. our tithes and our offerings. So, I'm

  752. going to ask those who are passing the

  753. baskets if you'll come forward and I'll

  754. just pray over those as well. And we

  755. believe that giving is a form of

  756. worship. And so we pause right now, Lord

  757. Jesus, and we give it all to you. And we

  758. give thanks for every good and perfect

  759. blessing that you have provided unto us,

  760. Lord. And would you magnify and multiply

  761. our resources in miraculous ways, Lord,

  762. so that we can give it away,

  763. [clears throat] that we can go and be

  764. the hands and feet of Jesus in this

  765. world? And so I pray a blessing over our

  766. church, over our church resources, over

  767. your resources and your finances. Lord

  768. Jesus, come. We invite you into this

  769. space of giving.

  770. Thank you. And I bless John as he brings

  771. us message.

  772. >> Thank you, Kate. And I will take that

  773. mic if you don't mind.

  774. Good morning, friends. It's almost

  775. Christmas. Can you believe it?

  776. The other day, I woke up and I saw my

  777. phone and it said a date that was closer

  778. to Christmas and I went, "Christ is

  779. coming."

  780. And uh with that comes a lot of

  781. celebration, but I think with with all

  782. of us, it also comes with a lot of it's

  783. not done yet.

  784. Well, uh I have to tell you, I I've been

  785. really really blessed by the foster and

  786. adopted parents in our church community

  787. that in the midst of their normal daily

  788. lives, whether it be Christmas or

  789. otherwise, they've decided to extend

  790. their lives to foster and adopt

  791. children. And uh all over the city,

  792. there's an organization that we've been

  793. working with since 2014. I have a

  794. picture of my children. I didn't put it

  795. in the slide deck this morning, but I

  796. have a picture of my children uh at with

  797. a hot cocoa stand

  798. from 2014

  799. raising money for one hope for kids as

  800. it was just starting out. Now, one hope

  801. for kids has placed over I think it's

  802. placed over a thousand children in homes

  803. over the last 10 years. And uh there are

  804. still I think 400 active homes uh that

  805. are welcoming the 3,000 orphans in our

  806. community into loving homes. And not

  807. just loving homes, but loving homes that

  808. are supported by the local church. And

  809. that's the real blessing that a whole

  810. church community comes around those that

  811. are fostering and adopting children. I

  812. wanted to invite Ken and Arlene this

  813. morning if you guys would come up. Uh,

  814. Ken and Arlene are not currently

  815. fostering, but you did and you adopted

  816. and you have two adopted daughters and

  817. one birth child and what an adventure it

  818. has been. But can you just tell us a

  819. little bit about how God put that on

  820. your heart at the beginning?

  821. I didn't turn it on for you. I'm sorry.

  822. Uh well, first of all, my parents

  823. adopted me. Um I was an infant when I

  824. was adopted, but before that u they had

  825. been foster parents and um there was a

  826. gentleman that used to come around my

  827. house when I was a kid. Uh we had a

  828. really big family, so I didn't really

  829. question it. But one day, I I think I

  830. was maybe 10 or 12, I said, "Mom, who is

  831. Mr. Bill in our family?" And she goes,

  832. "He was our foster son and he had only

  833. lived with my parents for two years when

  834. he was in high school, but in his 50s he

  835. was still coming around

  836. and uh because he loved my parents." So

  837. that planted a seed.

  838. >> Wow.

  839. >> Yeah.

  840. >> And and then continued until when?

  841. >> Well, we had our daughter Alish and um

  842. let me just say it this way. God can use

  843. a broken road

  844. to bring something really amazing into

  845. our lives. And uh we had gotten our home

  846. certified for one child uh that we were

  847. going to foster to adopt. And then we

  848. waited like nine months.

  849. The phone rang and they said, "We know

  850. you only were certified for one, but

  851. would you consider two?" And I just

  852. started shaking. [laughter]

  853. They told me their names. They're like

  854. they're they're sisters, blood sisters,

  855. and we won't separate them. And so we

  856. kind of met them on a Monday and they

  857. moved in on a Wednesday and it was

  858. crazy. [clears throat]

  859. >> And that was how many years ago?

  860. >> Well, see, Jesse wasn't quite three.

  861. Yeah, 22 years ago. And I would just say

  862. that they were the product of drugs and

  863. alcohol in womb.

  864. um mental illness, a pretty bleak uh you

  865. know genetic disposition as far as their

  866. parents. Um and they've had a lot of

  867. struggles that we've dealt with over the

  868. years,

  869. but our youngest daughter is getting

  870. married to a really beautiful man and

  871. they're like miracles.

  872. >> Our middle daughter has given us two

  873. grandchildren that are

  874. >> Yes.

  875. So 22 years, I mean, thankfully they've

  876. not lived with you for 22 years. Now

  877. they have their own homes, right? But

  878. for many years they did live with you

  879. and and you're their parents and now

  880. you're grandparents and this is your

  881. life and it's a beautiful, beautiful

  882. life. And it sounds like that which God

  883. gave to you in grace, you then you took

  884. the grace of God and gave it away to

  885. your children, which is amazing. I now

  886. God's grace is wonderful and there's

  887. been difficulty over the years and I'm

  888. curious if you could name one thing for

  889. our congregation if we were going to

  890. come alongside somebody who is fostering

  891. who is thinking about adoption what

  892. would be some of the greatest things you

  893. could say to a church that could really

  894. help us love those who are fostering and

  895. adopting and maybe even for yourself

  896. today because you it's still an impact

  897. in your lives. Well, one of the things

  898. that definitely is a help is getting

  899. yourselves certified to be able to

  900. provide respit for the families who are

  901. actually doing the long-term work

  902. because it is a neverending 247 by 365.

  903. And a lot of people just sort of say,

  904. "Oh, that's great. You've got your kids.

  905. Go on." And then they don't see the

  906. struggles and the hardship. And so just

  907. getting yourself certified to be able to

  908. take the kids out for a couple of hours

  909. on a Saturday so that we could have a

  910. date would have been, you know, really

  911. tremendous uh helpful

  912. >> because that's what people don't

  913. understand. You can't just get any

  914. babysitter when you're fostering. You

  915. have to get somebody who's licensed to

  916. babysit for those who are foster

  917. children.

  918. >> Yeah. I mean, the the protocol is pretty

  919. intense. Um they're warrants of the

  920. state. So, uh, you have to be TB tested,

  921. CPR certified, fingerprinted, background

  922. check, all of that. So, yeah, it was a

  923. we in California had an amazing church

  924. community that really rallied around us.

  925. And I mean, I would say for sure prayer

  926. warriors and those that just loved us

  927. and came around us was the biggest

  928. blessing that we could have ever asked

  929. for in our community because it happened

  930. so quickly. you know, came around, gave

  931. us things we didn't have like a crib and

  932. just it was amazing the way people

  933. rallied around us.

  934. >> And so, Church, uh, Lucas, can we do

  935. websites? Is are you able? No, can't do

  936. it. Okay. Well, if you would, if you

  937. you're curious about being a respit

  938. babysitter, even for a couple hours, but

  939. man, overnight would be cool, too,

  940. right? Um, you don't need that anymore,

  941. but uh uh you can go to one hope for

  942. kids and it's number one. Arita, help

  943. me.

  944. One the word hope and then four with

  945. letters

  946. >> fo r kids.org oneh hopeforkids.org and

  947. there's all kinds of instructions so you

  948. can go there to sign up to be respit

  949. care and some of you already have which

  950. is amazing. You heard Ashley and Chris's

  951. testimony. they're fostering right now

  952. and you all have rallied which is

  953. fantastic. Um but I want to do exactly

  954. in fact would you uh pray for our church

  955. to be amazing prayer support and respit

  956. support for those who want to foster and

  957. adopt. Would you guys do that for us?

  958. >> I just wanted to add one more thing. I

  959. wanted to speak to the reality that

  960. there is a orphan spirit. Okay. There's

  961. a cloak

  962. >> Yeah. over the orphan spirit and God

  963. wants to remove that cloak. It's very

  964. powerful, but the child has to choose to

  965. do that. Um anyways, and why don't you

  966. >> Father God, we just come before you

  967. today and ask you to surround our church

  968. with your angels, Lord, to give us the

  969. spirit of giving, the spirit of

  970. sacrifice, Lord, and the willingness to

  971. take on the least of these, Lord, which

  972. are precious children who've been

  973. through no fault of their own, Lord,

  974. either neglected or abandoned, Lord. And

  975. we just ask you to raise up this church

  976. body to come around those who step out

  977. in faith, Lord, in a mighty way. Raise

  978. up workers, Lord. The harvest is is

  979. ready, but the workers are few, Lord.

  980. And we just ask you to do a mighty work

  981. in this body. In Jesus name we ask. And

  982. Lord, I thank you for Ken and Arlene and

  983. how they've given their lives to you

  984. over the years in so many different

  985. ways. God, would you bless their family?

  986. Bless their daughters. Bless what it

  987. means to be parents with their daughters

  988. and grandparents. Come, Holy Spirit.

  989. Shower them with your blessing.

  990. Show them your love, especially around

  991. this Christmas season in the name of

  992. Jesus. Amen.

  993. Thank you guys so much. [applause]

  994. So, you can go to oneh hopeforkids.org

  995. And we're asking if you would take the

  996. price of a Christmas gift that you would

  997. usually spend and invest extra time and

  998. energy in that friend or family member.

  999. Instead, take that money and give it to

1000. One Hope for Kids this season. You can

1001. do that either on our website and our

1002. website is brand new. So, you can go to

  1003. missionvener.org. After 14 years, we've

1004. finally hired a web developer. It's only

1005. taken 14 years of senior pastor doing it

1006. and now it broke too bad for me to fix

  1007. it. So missionvineyard.org has a great

1008. place for you to uh give financial gifts

1009. to one hope forkids and uh you can go to

1010. oneh hopeforkids.org to sign up to be a

  1011. volunteer with them.

1012. So uh before we go for today I have uh

1013. just some words from the scriptures I

1014. want to dive into John chapter 3. Thank

    John 3 chapter mention

1015. you Chris for this. I'm going to give

1016. your phone back because you're a busy

1017. man and you're going to get texted

  1018. during church. I'm sure.

1019. Church, if you don't remember anything

1020. else from today, I want you to remember

1021. one thing. God loves the world

1022. and he loves you, too. God loves the

1023. world and he loves you too.

1024. >> How many times I have gone up to

1025. somebody and said, "Hey, how can I pray

1026. for you?" and they say, "Oh, pray for

  1027. the world."

  1028. Well, that's harder

1029. than just praying for you. If you would

1030. just tell me how to pray for you. Oh,

1031. the world has more burdens than I do.

1032. And what's actually being said there?

1033. There's some part of disbelief that we

1034. carry in us that says God doesn't really

1035. care about me or my needs aren't really

1036. that big. But the truth of the gospel,

1037. the truth of Christmas is that Jesus

  1038. came to love us.

1039. He loves each one of us individually. He

1040. loves you. He loves you deeper than

  1041. you've ever realized.

1042. He knows you more than you know

1043. yourself. He knows your every weakness.

1044. Like Santa Claus in Christmas, he knows

1045. when you're sleeping. He knows when

1046. you're awake. But better than Santa

  1047. Claus,

  1048. he loves you unconditionally.

  1049. Unconditionally.

1050. There uh if you're familiar with this

1051. church more and more you'll find out

1052. that we're being continually influenced

  1053. and actually we're becoming a culture

1054. church of the emotionally healthy

1055. disciplehip movement out of New York.

1056. And I'm really really excited to be

1057. connected with them and to become a more

1058. emotionally healthy church. Uh the

1059. founder of that organization is named a

1060. guy named Pete Scatsero. He reads he

1061. writes all kinds of books and I would

1062. suggest all of them to you. The

1063. emotionally healthy church and mostly

1064. healthy spirituality. But in one of the

1065. books he writes, the good news of the

1066. gospel is not that God loves people or

1067. the world in some abstract in some

1068. abstract sense, but that God loves you

  1069. and me personally

  1070. and specifically

  1071. personally and specifically.

1072. And so for those who I do go and I ask

1073. and there's strangers that I ask, how

1074. can I pray for you? And I get that they

  1075. don't want to get personal. That's I

1076. mean, how can I pray for you? And then

1077. they tell me their deepest, darkest

1078. secrets. That would be weirder probably.

1079. But how can I pray for you? God actually

1080. wants to attend to very specific things

1081. in our lives. And often times we don't

1082. walk in a relationship with God enough

1083. to get specific with him. I know if

1084. you're like me, I go through my prayer

1085. list or I go through the scriptures and

  1086. it's I gotta go. Jesus, let's go. Let's

1087. go here. Come on. BOXES ON THE SHELVES.

  1088. JESUS, let's go. I don't know if you

1089. knew that's how I talk with God.

1090. But it's often not enough time to dial

1091. down and get silent enough

1092. where our mind starts wandering. And

1093. that's when you know we're getting to

  1094. specifics.

1095. It's all the things in the background

1096. noise of our hearts and minds that we

1097. keep at bay while we're doing the daily

1098. tasks that God wants to love

  1099. specifically.

1100. And so as we quiet down and I try more

1101. and more these days just to give the

1102. Lord one minute or five minutes or on a

1103. beautiful day 20 minutes of silence and

1104. things start coming to mind. Everybody,

1105. anybody ever try to get silent and

1106. things come to mind and you feel guilty

1107. that things are coming to mind while

1108. you're trying to get silent with God?

1109. No, it's for that purpose. The Lord

1110. wants these things to come up so that he

1111. can attend to them specifically. And

1112. unless you gave him that silent time,

1113. they might not get the place of

1114. relationship between you and God. You

1115. might just deal with them yourselves.

1116. He wants to love you and me personally

  1117. and specifically.

1118. And one of the greatest places of

1119. scripture that we know of that speaks to

1120. this is John Football 3:16.

1121. I to say John football 3:16 because who

1122. knows why in the stands people hold up

1123. signs of John 3:16. Maybe they just want

    John 3:16

1124. to share this gospel because this is

  1125. really good news.

1126. It's really, really good news that Jesus

1127. wants to love us specifically.

1128. In fact, he rigged the game

  1129. to love us specifically.

1130. He rigged it from the beginning of time

1131. to know us and then to die for every

1132. single one of our sins. He died for you

1133. and for me every specific hunger we

1134. have. He loves us that much. So watch

1135. this. He's in this discussion with this

1136. high priest of the time, one of the most

1137. religious people of the time. Get this.

1138. Watch. Watch. He says, "For this is how

1139. God loved the world. He gave his one and

1140. only son." And when you see this

1141. scripture, look at like the manner, the

1142. way, the the abundance, the the kind of

1143. dance that God does to love us. He gave

1144. his one and only son like an undercover

  1145. operation

1146. so that everyone who believes in him

1147. will not perish but have eternal life.

1148. And what are we saying? believe in him

  1149. that you must follow

1150. everything that I say as a pastor to the

1151. point and I'll check on you every week

1152. that you do everything that I do as a

  1153. pastor.

1154. No, that you believe that Jesus is

1155. enough for you. That when the things

1156. come up in your mind and heart, you go,

1157. "God, you're big enough to handle this.

1158. In fact, you're big enough for all of

1159. it. and I trust you. I trust you.

1160. And so when we have that faith, when we

1161. when we believe in him, we stop

  1162. perishing.

1163. I want to stop perishing.

1164. Sometimes I feel like I perish at the

1165. end of a workout or when I don't get

  1166. enough sleep.

1167. But the perishing that Jesus is talking

1168. about is more like all the hidden stuff

1169. that we forget to attend to actually

1170. comes to mind so that Jesus can take

1171. care of it. In fact, one of the biggest

1172. sins Jesus says you could ever commit is

1173. dismissing the Holy Spirit's work to

1174. deal with our secret stuff.

1175. That's blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. to

  1176. believe

1177. that all that stuff that's buried the

1178. inside of the cup, Jesus would say,

1179. doesn't need dealing with as long as the

1180. outside of the cup is pretty. Jesus says

1181. that's blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

1182. Meaning that is a sin that nobody can

1183. get away with. Why? Because when our

  1184. insides aren't dealt with, we're not

1185. really experiencing love, are we? Real

1186. love gets to be experienced when our

  1187. real life gets loved.

1188. And we often don't feel comfortable or

1189. believe that God is big enough to handle

  1190. our real inside stuff.

1191. But this is why you should believe.

1192. Watch this in verse 17. God sent his son

1193. into the world not to judge the world.

1194. He wasn't going to take the inside of

1195. the cup stuff of your life, the stuff

1196. you're afraid to mention, the stuff that

1197. you don't even want to think about. It

1198. doesn't come up. He doesn't want to

1199. nitpick it and say, "Oh, you forgot.

1200. you didn't call that person or oh that

1201. sin that was five years ago. Oh, I still

1202. remember you and you get coal in your

  1203. spiritual stocking this year.

1204. No, God didn't send his world, his son

1205. into the world to judge the world, but

1206. to save the world through him. There is

1207. no judgment against anyone who believes

1208. in Jesus. Say amen. There is no judgment

1209. against anyone who believes in him. I

1210. can't wait for the day when I get to be

1211. in front of Jesus and all of my

1212. imaginary conversations of judgment that

1213. I have without all of my life.

1214. And I get face to face with Jesus.

1215. And I am so confident that there's no

  1216. more judgment.

1217. I want that relief of the kingdom right

1218. now. And it's available to us. There is

1219. no judgment against anyone who believes

1220. in Jesus. But anybody who doesn't

1221. believe in him, you've already been

  1222. judged, haven't you?

1223. The guilt and the shame that pile on,

1224. the stuff that we have a hard time even

  1225. processing,

1226. the accusations of the enemy that say

  1227. you're not enough

1228. and you've never been enough.

1229. That's the judgment of those that don't

1230. believe in God's one and only son. And

1231. the judgment is based on this that God's

1232. light came into the world like the sun

  1233. is for the earth.

1234. God's light has come into the world like

1235. the sun to the earth. God's light came

1236. into the earth into the world but people

1237. loved the darkness more than the light

1238. for their actions were evil. Why on

1239. earth have you ever known the the relief

  1240. of forgiveness?

1241. I had this moment with a pastor in

1242. Argentina and I was talking about how uh

1243. some of the practices that we have with

1244. our technology in our house so that we

1245. don't get as addicted as I already am.

1246. And I said something like, "Oh, you

1247. know, here's a book, you know, for your

1248. that you can read at night before you go

1249. to bed so you don't have to keep your

1250. phone in your bedroom." And they went,

1251. "SEE KIDS, NO PHONES IN YOUR BEDROOM."

1252. Like all OF A SUDDEN MY ONE suggestion

1253. of a book in the bedroom turned into

1254. judgment on the whole family.

1255. And I I let it go for a moment and the

1256. Lord caused me said, "Don't let that

1257. become a lie in your conversation that

1258. you you don't keep a phone in your

  1259. bedroom."

  1260. >> So the next day I said, "Okay, I just I

1261. want to let you know

1262. I I keep my phone in my bedroom."

1263. and he got it. I said, 'But please I

1264. want you forgive me. I I don't want that

1265. to become a lie between us. He said,

1266. 'Oh, yeah, yeah, no, I I forgive you. I

1267. forgive you. And uh it became nothing,

1268. but can I tell you the relief?

  1269. It was just a small I mean, I don't

1270. know, a lie is a lie, but to me, it was

1271. a small lie that that took its own

1272. place, but the relief I had when I

1273. disclosed it to Jorge and it was

  1274. forgiven.

1275. Why on earth wouldn't want people want

1276. to live in the light?

1277. And I think sometimes it's the wounding

1278. from our sins, either the sins against

1279. us, from others, or the woundings of our

1280. own sin, of whatever we've done. We

1281. don't know how to deal with them. And

1282. so, we don't believe that God could ever

1283. deal with them. And so, bringing them up

1284. is too hard to bear.

1285. People love the darkness more than the

1286. light because the light is too

1287. overwhelming. and their actions were

1288. rightfully evil. And we can't deal with

1289. evil ourselves. Only Jesus's love can.

1290. We don't have the love in ourselves to

1291. actually forgive the debts that we cause

1292. with our sin. Only Jesus can do that.

1293. All who do evil hate the light. They

1294. refuse to go near it for their sins.

1295. What will be exposed? All of the sudden,

1296. people won't be known just for the

1297. outside of the cup anymore. They're

1298. known for the inside, too. And they're

1299. afraid they haven't done their dishes in

  1300. a while.

1301. But the inside of our hearts need to be

1302. cleaned. And the only one that can do

1303. it, the only one who's worthy, the only

1304. love that really matters is Jesus.

1305. Those who do what's right come to the

1306. light. They let Jesus wash the inside

1307. so that others can see what the real

1308. love of God is. Christmas, you know, you

1309. you and I both know it's gotten out of

1310. control in the wrong direction, far away

  1311. from Jesus.

1312. We bring it back on these Sundays the

1313. best that we can. We go out caroling and

1314. mission. We give away our money instead

1315. of spending it on ourselves. We do

1316. things intentionally to remember Jesus

1317. in the season is the focus. But how

1318. difficult it is in this world. It is for

1319. me that the outside of the cup would

1320. look really good. And so most of our

1321. work looks like work for the outside. I

1322. really want to be impressive in front of

1323. others. I really want to look like I

1324. don't need anything from anybody else.

1325. If our gospel good news is based on

1326. looking good, then Christmas love is

  1327. lost.

1328. The love of Christmas is a love that we

  1329. welcome to the inside

1330. and we're cleaned on the inside.

  1331. And then

1332. what shines is the real love of God. If

1333. we expect for the love of God to only be

1334. reflected in an Instagram Christian

  1335. reality,

1336. a tick- tock Christian reality of just

1337. an outside looking good, then we have

1338. missed out on the depth of why Jesus has

  1339. come as a baby.

1340. Jesus has come to clean the inside. and

1341. those who do what is right come to the

  1342. light so that

1343. the world can actually see what this

  1344. real love is.

1345. We don't project love into the world as

1346. the world needs it. We reflect what the

1347. authentic love of God has done inside of

1348. us because that's what the world is

1349. actually hungering for. The world

1350. doesn't need another shiny person

1351. winning. They need another clean person

1352. restored and transformed by a love

1353. that's gotten to the deepest darkest

1354. hunger and burden of their lives.

1355. And if you're willing to receive Jesus

1356. that way, then you are the light of the

  1357. world.

1358. You are the light of the world.

1359. Jesus's love is meant to live in us and

1360. it's meant to shine through us. His last

1361. prayer was this in John 17. I am in them

1362. and you are in me. May they experience

1363. such perfect unity that the world will

1364. know that you sent me and that you love

1365. them as much as you love me. I have

1366. revealed you to them and I'll continue

1367. to do so. Then your love for me will be

1368. in them and I will be in them. I've got

1369. so much more to preach and no more time.

1370. There are scriptures and steps and love

1371. God's love on your sheets. But what is

1372. not on your sheets? These wonderful,

1373. wonderful photos. I want to as we go

1374. into ministry time because I believe

1375. that God wants to touch some of you with

1376. his love. Charlie Mackey. If can we put

1377. up the paintings of Charlie Mackey?

  1378. Lucas are up there.

1379. Charlie came to Alpha in London. He's a

1380. beautiful, beautiful artist. And if you

  1381. know anything about Alpha, there's a

1382. Holy Spirit weekend. And you get prayer

1383. that Holy Spirit weekend just like we

1384. have prayer every Sunday during ministry

1385. time. There's prophetic words and and

1386. people say how they need prayer. And

1387. Charlie went for prayer. He wasn't a

1388. follower of Jesus at all. And the guy

1389. that started praying for him smelled

1390. like he had just ate sardines. And it

1391. was just the worst thing in the world.

1392. And let me tell you, God's power is so

1393. big. It broke through the bad breath of

1394. that man. And Charlie, who had been

  1395. smoking nervous all day

1396. about that alpha weekend, his life, his

1397. inside life, was so burdened.

1398. He finally went to receive prayer. And

1399. through receiving prayer, he allowed for

1400. the power of God not just to touch the

1401. outside of his life, but to touch the

  1402. inside of his life.

1403. And the inside of his life has been

  1404. completely transformed.

1405. And in reflection, Charlie began to do

1406. art. And if you look him up, he's now

1407. won an Oscar for uh uh

1408. a cartoon film about a horse and a mole

1409. and a boy. and it's beautiful. But my

1410. favorite work by Charlie are these

1411. moments of the father bringing his

  1412. children home.

1413. This is not an Instagram moment. This is

1414. an intimate moment between father God

1415. who desperately wants us to just believe

1416. in Jesus so that we would receive the

1417. loving embrace of the father and let all

1418. the insides be cleansed so that the

1419. outside can reflect the full glory of

1420. God that we were always meant for. Do

1421. you hear me? He loves you so much. He

1422. loves the world. Oh, but he loves you so

1423. much. So with that, I'm going to welcome

  1424. Steve. I don't know if he's got his

1425. Santa hat on today. Oh, he does.

1426. Steve started growing this white beard

1427. and I called him Santa one day and he

1428. has lived into the character. I'm so

  1429. glad.

1430. Steve meets with a team before church

1431. and they pray and they say, "God, who do

1432. you want to love today? And in what way

1433. do you want to love them?" And so they

1434. take risks with prophetic words or words

1435. of knowledge, hoping that some of you

1436. might receive that small word of God and

1437. come for prayer. And so Steve's going to

1438. lead us into ministry time. I'm going to

1439. invite the worship team to come back up.

1440. We're going to lead you in a new song.

1441. And during that song, would you come and

1442. receive ministry today? Especially to

1443. receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

1444. >> And John, you're on the right list.

  1445. >> I can't I can't say I try. [laughter]

1446. >> God is good. God is good. As we were

1447. praying uh today, we didn't have a long

1448. list, but the first was a sense of a

1449. sharp pain in the leg that uh that God

  1450. wants to heal.

1451. The second one is uh that a mass has

1452. been discovered and is being diagnosed

1453. for you or a loved one.

1454. God wants to pray uh wants us to pray

  1455. for you about that.

1456. And the last one is

1457. it's just a reminder that this is the

1458. [music] season of new beginnings.

1459. That was fantastic when God chose

1460. [music] to come to us among us as a

  1461. baby.

1462. A new beginning. Nothing like that had

1463. ever happened again. God wants to do

1464. [music] transformation in your life.

1465. This is a season of new beginnings. Grab

  1466. hold of it.

1467. So, if one of these items

  1468. has

  1469. >> [music]

1470. >> uh spoken to you, we'd love to pray with

1471. you over here in the corner. And uh if

1472. you have some other need that wasn't

1473. wasn't on specifically on this list, we

1474. would love to pray with you. [music]

  1475. Thank you.

1476. You can stand with me in worship if you

  1477. have the capacity.

  1478. There's a scripture that [music] says,

1479. "Today is the day of salvation." And it

1480. just means that today and every day,

1481. Jesus wants to receive [music]

1482. all of us inside and out. And so, if

1483. you've never welcomed Jesus into all of

1484. life, if you've never given full rule

  1485. and reign,

1486. come for prayer this morning and let

1487. somebody pray with you. This is a new

  1488. song for everyone.

  1489. waking up to mana

1490. coming to my senses. [singing and music]

1491. You meet me in my grumbling.

1492. You give me my portion.

1493. Though flesh and heart may fail me, your

1494. strength is there to hold me,

  1495. keeping my heart steady.

1496. You are my portion. [singing]

  1497. You are my portion.

1498. >> You are my [singing] daily bread. You

1499. are [music] my daily bread.

1500. And we [singing] will seek your face

1501. before we seek your hand.

1502. >> You are our daily [singing and music]

1503. bread. You are our daily bread.

1504. and [music] we desire you before the

1542. >> In these times and songs, it's kind of

1546. but I encourage you to sing this as an

1547. encouragement, not just to yourself, but

1548. to the whole body. It's what the

1566. me to trust in my God. It is good for

1567. [music and singing] me to declare all

1568. his work. It is good for me. One more

1569. time. It is good. It is good for me to

1570. [music] draw near my God. It is good for

1601. in God's love, were sent out to join in

1602. God's kingdom [music] with impact

1603. through his word and his works. Deeply

1615. to be cleansed from the inside [music]

1616. so you can be the glory of God on the

1617. outside? I bless you in Jesus name. Go

  1618. in peace.
