Ezekiel, chapter thirty seven. If you got it, say I've got.

It m Verse one. I'm gonna be probably reading from

the NIV.

Then the hand of the Lord was on me, and

he brought me out by the spear of the Lord

and set me in the middle of a valley.

It was full of bones.

He led me back and forth among them, and I

saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley,

bones that were very dry. And he asked me, son

of man, can these bones live? Son of man was

the term that the Lord gave Ezekiel. Ezekiel was a

country boy, and he said, Sovereign Lord, you only know.

Then he said to me, prophesy to these bones. Say

to them, dry bones.

Hear the word of the Lord.

This is what the sovereign Lord says to these ones.

I will make breath under you, and you will come

to life.

Now watch, I will attach.

Tendons to you and make flesh come upon you, uncover

you with skin, and I'll put breath in you, and

you will come to life. Then you'll know that I

am the Lord. So I prophesied as I was commanded.

So Ezekiel begins to hear the word of the Lord,

and he prophesides, and he says, as he is prophesying,

all of a sudden those bones began to rattle, and

there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came.

Together, bone to bone.

And I looked and tendons in flesh appeared on them,

and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

Then he said to me, propheside to the breath.

Prophes I soun am in and say to it, this

is what the Sovereign Lord says, colm breath from the

four winds, and breathe into the slave. That word breath

is ru all everybody say, rua. It's where we get breath,

that's where we get win. But it's also where we

get spirit. How many O we want the spirit of God,

the rule of God, the breath of God from the

four winds. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and

breathed entered them, and they came to life and stood

up on their feet, and they became a vast army.

Then he said to me, son of a man, these

bones are the people of Israel. They say, oh, bones

are dried up, and our hope is gone. We are

cut off. Therefore prophesied to them. This is what the

soverignore says. My people, I'm going to open your graves

and bring you up from them, and I will.

Bring you back to the land of Israel.

Then you will be my people, and I will know

and you will know that I am the Lord when

I open your graves and bring you up from them,

and I will put my spirit.

Come on, say it with me, Come on, say with me.

I will put my spirit in you. Just tell your

neighbors say he's Tell them, say he's in you. M hm.

He's not just on you, he's not just surround you.

He's not just a forour But if you are a

believer in Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit is in you,

and you will live, and I will settle you in

your own land. And then you will know that I

the Lord that have spoken, have done it, declares the Lord.

Father. We love you.

Have your way, have your way, Holy Ghost, do what

only you can do.

Lord.

As I begin this series on the Holy Spirit, Lord,

I pray that you would activate your presence in this place. God,

that the activity of the Holy Spirit would be evident. God,

that lives would be changed, chains would be broken, minds

would be renewed. And God, we praise you today because

Holy Spirit, you bring us into the likeness of Christ.

And we think if or it's not by mind nor

by power, but it's by your spirit. And we give

you the thanks in Jesus' name. And everybody said, you

can be seated today. Today I'm gonna be talking about

Holy Spirit, breathe on us, breathe on us. And I'm

talking about this text. And I never preached this text before.

I've heard people preach about it.

And I think it's important today that as I talk

about this text, that we understand the context of what's

going on, because humble know today that many times when

we read scripture, there there is a journey to get

to that text. There's a reason why there's dry bones.

There's a reason why Ezekiel is there. Ezekiel is the

exile prophet. He is a contemporary of Daniel. He has

seen a nation that was once serving God, a nation

that would sacrifice to the Lord, a nation that David

built a temple. And in that temple, the Bible says,

now he didn't build it, but he had a heart

to build it. His son Solomon built the temple that

when the temple was built, that the glory of the

Lord filled it in such a way that that the

priests could not even stand because of the presence of God.

There was such a glory on that place, that that

place was a sign of God's glory in God's presence.

But then after years and decades, all of a sudden,

the enemy started to work on the hearts of God's people,

and all of a sudden, when you lose your why,

you lose your way. Let me say again, when you

lose your why of why you come to the House

of God. I hope you didn't come here just to

see how good the preacher is. I hope you didn't

come here just to see how good the worship is,

because let me tell you, everything in this church is

jacked up. We're all a bunch of broken people that

need the Lord. And if I put your expectation that

you that I'm some a right person or a worship

team is somebody as all that in a bag of chips.

And our and our greeter team that listening, we all

are falling in the need of the goodness and the

grace of the Lord Jesus. And what I want you

to experience today is not great preaching or great worship.

I need you to experience the great.

One who's in this room today, Who's the only one

that can change your life. Won't you get caught up

in personalities and things because we've got into a whole

Christian culture when it comes to what we're looking for,

and I hope you're not looking for all that and

forgetting who the presence.

Of God is. You got to learn your why.

And that's the rob with with how the enemy works.

The enemy is so sly is that he doesn't tell

the children of Israel.

To divorce God. He just asked God.

He asked them to have another God. Just add another

move from monotheists to polytheism. And that's what happened, is

that all of a sudden they were worshiping Jehovah God,

they were worshiping the Lord, but they had a side chick. Hello,

don't don't don't laughing, because we all got we all

got spiritual side chicks. We all we say we love

God with our lips, but our heart is affectionate towards

something else. Don't let me get in your crol aid.

Today they started worshiping Astaroth and bail and all of

these things. And and how many know we serve a

jealous God. God is not trying to share you with

the world. He's not trying to share you with your

side chick. He's not trying to share you with your

pursuit of success. He's a jealous God, and he wants

to be supreme and premiere over everything.

And they started to worship other gods.

They were still worshiping, they were still going to church,

but they were starting.

To look like the other nations.

It's dangerous when we start looking more like the world

than the world does. I'm not gonna talk to me today.

This is not one of those feel good kind of moments,

you know what I'm saying, where you just gonna check

the box and say I got my Jesus, but I

also got my other things in my life. No, no, no, Today,

God wants you and all of you. And in church,

if you're not careful, you lose your why, and then

you lose your way and you start playing church. You

don't know it, but you started getting in a spiritual condition,

and the spiritual condition begins to cause you to be dead.

Because how many gone know, how many understand today when

it comes to religion, it's dead. Our religion without Christ

is dead. And this was the condition of the people

of God. They had finally gotten to the point where

God was, His mercy had ran out. In judgment, it

came and the temple that once filled with the glory

of God had been ransacked. And the temple that once

carried the presence of God, the ark of the Covenant

and all those things. We don't know where the ark is,

but all of the articles of the temple they had.

Left, they were ransacked.

They were spoils onto Babylon, and the process of Babylon,

they went into Babylonian Babylonian captivity.

And there Ezekiel is.

Being called of the Lord's there that Ezekiel, who is

a priest who's part of the exile, who has been

taken into captivity. There God begins to show them the

dry bones. Now you need to understand about dry bones.

This is not just a skeleton. You need to.

Understand the context of what it meant to have dry bones,

because first the priests were not supposed to be touch

dry bones, were supposed touch the dead. And God tells him,

I want you to stand in this valley. I want

you to look to and fro and I want you

to see dry bones. And when you're seeing dry bones,

it's not just death, it's shame. It is the reproach

of Israel because in Jewish custom.

When you died, you were buried immediately.

Even today when we saw in Rafa they found the

Jewish people that had been discovered that were hostages. And

how many know we need to pray for the nation

of Israel. We need to pray for the nation of Israel,

because how many know the Bible tells us to pray

for the peace of Jerusalem and those are God's showsen people.

But even in that day, that immediately the day after,

they were already carried in a box and they were

laid in the grave.

That's why when.

Jesus died on the cross, right before the Sabbath began,

he was taking off the cross and.

He was laid in a ball toune.

That's why that Lasar's when he died, they weren't waiting

on him.

He was laid in a tune.

Because that was the prob of when you died, for

you to be buried. So the fact that you were

not buried was a sign of reproach and shame that

not only were you dead, but you are a display

of your embarrassment. And all of us have something that

we're embarrassed by. Oh yeah, even in the naivety of life,

we've all thatt was some level of shame.

Whether it was you.

Going up to the girl in high school that you

had a crush on. Come on, somebody, and you were

just crushing on her and you had got the courage

to take her out to prom or to a dance,

or take her out for a dinner, and you asked her, Hey,

so and so, would you mind going out with me?

And she looked at you and she said, you know,

can't we just be friends? How many when asked to

be your friends? That is a blow to your soul?

Well come on that and.

You're like, oh, yeah, that's fine, we can be friends.

And you go home and you cry. Listen to Brian mcnaight.

Can I get a witness? At least that's what I did,

Amen one, you're lack a dream country.

Can I get a witness? Come on? Now?

Are you are? You applied for a job and you

looked around and you saw your competition and you knew

you don't get that job. You knew you slay that interview,

and then you find out that not only did you

not get the job, but the person you thought was

the least qualified, the least qualified could barely tie their shoes,

got the job. Shame, shame, all kinds of shame, whether

whatever whatever it was, and whether it was in you

playing in the sports and you're you're playing in sports

and you're you can't and you're all there and they

throw the ball to you and all you do is

gonna make the lay up.

And you miss the lay up. The team was counting

on you. Are you?

Or you're playing on the soccer team and you're eight

years old. I'm just getting some stuff off my chest

and and you score for your for the wrong team.

Can I get o witness? You know?

Or have you ever seen it?

The socker the goalie he misses, the ball comes right

through his bakes and all of a sudden, everybody's looking

and you're really it's a shame, or it could be

the secret.

You don't want to nobody to know.

It keeps you bound and and and and fear and

in bondage and shame. It's the condition and this is

the condition that's going on.

This isn't dry bones. And here's the thing.

Dry bones represent when we knew better but did worse.

Because we all knew better, all of us in this room.

Have you been frustrated with yourself because you feel like

you're trying to make two steps forward and then you

make three steps back, trying to walk walk out this

journey of Christianity, and it seems so frustrating because the

bar is so high, and yet you are so impotent

in your walk, and you feel like you read your

Bible and you pray and you go to church, and

it seems like it seems like the enemy has got

you right by by the by the by the by

the nap of your neck, and it causes so much

frustrating because you want to walk in victory but you're

still in the pattern of defeat. It is just this

tension that you deal with. It is when you know

better but you do works. I ain't got no real

people in this room. I ain't got nobody that knows

what I'm talking about. When Paul said that that the

thing that I want to do I don't do, and

the thing that I don't want to do, I do,

oh wretched flesh, Who can deliver me from my situation?

Who can deliver me from my problem? Who can deliver

me from my situation?

Who can help me?

And it is the reproach that is in our lives

today that it reminds us even of Peter. When Peter

was with Jesus and Peter man gee, he saw Jesus

multiplied the fish and the laws, and he Jesus, he

saw Jesus even walked off.

I mean Peter walked on water with the law.

I mean Peter saw all kinds of glory and manifestations.

Peter saw the fact that he went up to the

mount of Transfiguration and saw that there was Elijah and Moses,

and he sees the glory of God right before Jesus

goes before the same Heedron, right before the good Friday.

And there there is Saint Peter right there when Jesus

gets arrested, is the Saint.

Peter after he'd walk with the Lord. When they ask

him the.

Question, it was a little girl, little girl, says he

got scared of the little girl. Not not some Roman soldier,

not some not some high priest.

He got scared of a little girl who said, aren't

you one of those.

Disciples, And all of a sudden he said, no, no, no,

I don't even know who you're talking about. And then

then then somebody else said, no, no, I saw you.

You were with Jesus, the Rabbi, the teacher. He said no, no, no,

no no, And then he started giving all kind of

explicits and started cussing and cursing, right before the Lord

and the rooster crows. Can you tell can I tell

you the shame that was Peter, the shame that was

on his life before the power of the Resurrection, before

the power of the Holy Spirit, before the day of Pentecosts.

He knew what it felt like to be a failure.

He knew what it felt like to be in dead

man's religion. He knew it felt like to be in

a place where you want to do well and you

can to.

He knew what it felt like.

To find yourself fault faultful because you can't do. But

can I tell you today? The Holy Spirit is there today.

And God never designed for you to walk this Christian

life by yourself.

He gave you the power of.

The Resurrection, and that power it's through the Holy Spirit

today and can I tell you today who the Holy

Spirit is. The Holy Spirit is the great robber. He's

a grave robber today. He's the one that I don't

care how dead it is. I don't care how broken

it is. I don't care how defeated it is. I

don't care how discourage you. See, God doesn't do the

hard things. God does the impossible things. And look what

the Bible tells. As dry bones hear the word of Lord.

This is what the sovereign Lord says to these bones.

I will make breath enter you, and you will come

to life. And I will attach tendons to you, and

make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin.

And I'll put breath in you, and you will come

to life. So he begins to prophesy, and all of

a sudden, the Bible tells says, he began to prophesy

all of a sudden, that thing that was dead, all

of a sudden, it began to rattle. That thing that

was not alive began to rattle on the ground. And

all of a sudden, those rattling causing bones to surge

the bones, and then tendons began to cover those bones,

and flesh began to fill those bones.

Because the first thing that the Lord does is.

He breaks the shame off of your life. He breaks

the shame off of you. Come on up here, Hazien,

I'm here, my brother. Come on, man quickly, because all

of us got some chains.

Come on, stand right here. Now here's the thing about

change a.

Lot of us today when we we live. We live today,

and this is what the enemy does, just like he

did the children of Israel.

He's got you.

Hold on, brother, I'm gonna wrap you up good.

Hold on here.

Oh yeah, feel you feel the weight. You feel the weight,

You feel the waight of sin, because how many those

sin ways on you, It'll cause it.

You can feel the weight of sin. Oh yeah.

I gotta make sure it looks good on you. And

all of a sudden, here come here. I'm not gonna

chow you just standing right there.

Baby mm hmm. That's what I love. Yeah, oh yeah,

it gets you right there, baby. M oh yeah. I

hope this doesn't hurt your shirt.

Pray who you feel that pinch, that's the whole, that's

that's your sin. I'm saying, uh huh. I ain't letting

you go out of this. Come on today, let's praise

that arm.

Can you re go? There you go?

That's perfect because yeah, he gets you everywhere, he gets

your hands.

Mm hmmm.

This is what this is what we come in and

can I tell you today this is what our lives

look like. Oh yeah, oh I want you tie no no, no, no, no, no, no

no no let no no.

Oh yeah, I'm trying. I'm trying. There we go right

up top.

This is what if we come in and even though

that we are as symboled, we still deal with the shame.

He's deal with the shame. And how many know the enemy.

His ultimate role today is to get you to believe

that you will never break.

Out of what you used to be. M hmm.

His ultimate goal is to always be the remind He

is the accuser of the brethren. And this is the

problem with shame is the difference between guilt is what

I've done, shame is what I am. Shame says there's

not it's not what I've done wrong. There's something wrong

with me. And let shame says to me, I can't.

I'm not what I did. I am what I've done.

I am. I am a liar, I am a thief,

I am I am addicted. I can't be free.

I can't be even though I prayed the prayer, even

though I feel like, Lord, I want to be free,

but I feel like I can't be free today, and

I'm struggling, and the enemy just keeps on reinforcing it.

Anytime I get a little fits squeeze a little bit,

anytime I get a little bit of freedom, the enemy

comes in and he sends people just to make sure

that the chains are still tight. The moment that you

feel like you're going to move forward, the enemy is

so he's so sly, and.

He uses people and he uses.

Problems, and it's is amazing.

How that you are doing so good.

And then and you felt like, oh man, I'm gonna

get victoried, and all of a sudden, all hell breaks

loose over your life. And he wants to let the

storm speak to you, and he wants to tell you.

But can I tell you today Jesus is when he

gave you the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not

just a it's not just a chain. Take your offer.

He's not just there to shake your chains. One of

them's got to shake every chain. No, no, no, That's

what I love about the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit

is a chain breaker. Now have you signed? Have you

signed anything? I don't want because I'm gonna tell you

right now what the Holy Spirit can do. What he

can do is is that he doesn't just see these

chains on you and say, I don't know if I

can break them.

I don't know. Just stand still, son, stand still, stand still?

You know they look Oh they look so big on

I don't know if I can I can break them. No, no, no.

The Holy Spirit he has the power to break chains.

He has the power to break every chain. He didn't

look at it and say, oh, I don't think I

can do it.

I don't think I know.

The Holy Spirit Today he comes in and he comes

in and he breaks Oh, I hope I don't.

Break your cheese.

Amen, You're not gonna be mad at me, right if

you lose your pants.

Praise the Lord.

But the Holy Spirit is a chain breaker. He's a

chain breaker. He's a chain break it. You didn't hear

what I said, he breaks the change, he breaks the chain.

I said, he breaks the chain. I said, he breaks

the chain. I said, he breaks every chain. I said,

the chain that's on you. He don't just shake the chain.

I said.

He breaks the chain, he breaks the pressure, he breaks addiction,

he breaks pornography, he breaks it in the he breaks

the thing, he breaks the pass. I can't put it together. No, no, no,

he's a chain breaker this morning, Come on, give God

a praise if you believe today he's a chain breaker.

He's a chain breaker. He's a chain breaker. He's a

yoke destroyer, he's a yo.

He has the power to break the change. I can't

put these chains back together. See, some of us, we

don't understand. He didn't just shake the chains. He breaks

the chains, he breaks the pattern. I know what your

dad was, I know what your mama was, I know

what your granddad, I know what they said about you.

I know what your pastor clad. But he that the

Son has.

Made free, Oh, I feel this in my spirit.

Long.

He that the Son has made free is free, indeed

never to be put back together again. Never today, the

Holy Spirit. Today he breaks the chains, and he breaks

the shame off of you, letting you know.

Therefore, now you are a new creation.

All things have passed away, and he'll all things have

become new. And then God is a similar He's covering

you with his precious blood. He's covering you with his

grace today. Can I tell you today that you.

Are not what you used to be.

You are a new creation in Christ Jesus, and the

Spirit of God breaks the change off of you today.

He breaks the chains. And this is a reminder every day.

But I look at my chains. I remind the enemy.

Yeah yeah, yeah, that's what I used to be.

But I'm not that anymore.

Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.

You had me in the clutches.

But then when Jesus found me, he gave me the

power over that the same spirit that raised Christ from

the dead shall also quicken my mortal body. You don't

have to stay in this dead space. You don't have

to stay bound, You don't have to stay defeated, you

don't have to stay discouraged.

You you don't have to stay.

In the pattern of your past. But in the name

of Jesus, Christ.

Has raised you to life God.

And what's so beautiful about this story is that that

we see the activity of the spirit of God. But

what was missing, even though it was assemboled, it had

no breath. If you look at the text, the Bible says,

as he prophesied to the bodies, all of a sudden

they came to life, and that dead thing became alive.

It had an appearance in life, but there was no

breath in it. And a lot of us we've been

a symboled, but we have not been activated. A lot

of us in this room today we understand, we hear

about the Holy Spirit, we talk about the Holy Spirit,

but we've not let the Holy Spirit take pre eminence

in our lives. And today I want to move you

from just the assembling of the Holy Spirit to the

activity of the Holy Spirit today, because the Bible says

they were as symboled, but there was no activity. And

today we need the breath of God. Can I tell

you today you need the of the Holy Spirit, the

breath of God living on the inside. Yes, look what

he did on the outside, but what he wants to

do is live on the inside. The breath of God,

the breath of the Holy Spirit. Today, the breath of

God wants to flow in and through your life today.

And today I've discovered that I can go a few

days without food. I don't like to go without food,

but you actually can go a couple weeks without food.

I mean that you mean I like it. In fact,

when I'm dealing with people that are dealing with hospice,

but they'll have gone maybe even two three weeks without

food just because the bodies will to live. I've seen

people who've gone four or five days without water. You

can go four or five days without water, but after

four or five days, your body starts to shut.

Down just because you need the water.

You start your body to dehydrate, and all of a sudden,

the cells begin to be in need of the nutrients

that water provides.

But you know, you can't go minutes without breath. Minute.

At sixty seconds.

Your brain cells are deprived oxygen and they start dying

at sixty seconds. That's why that when someone has a

cardiac arrest and they can't breathe, that is long.

They may be dead.

But as long as you're doing the you're doing the

work of CPR, even though their heart.

May not be beating.

That as long as they got breath, they got life.

As long as they got breath, they got life. But

the moment that they lose the oxygen in minutes.

They are dead.

And can I tell you that you cannot live without

the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. You are

like fish without water.

You need the oc.

That comes from the Spirit of God, and you have

to activate it in your life. And you have to

recognize that your problem is not your problem. Your problem

is your needing of the presence of God. Because when

you get the presence of God, there is no problem,

There is no there is no hell, there is no

devil that can stop the believer who is dependent upon

the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

And today this is.

What a lot of Christians look like. They look like

the fish who's on the shores that's gasping for air.

So you look like you're trying to do it in

your strength. You're trying to do in your ability.

You're trying to fight the devil in your own power.

You're trying to fight trying to fight in your own ability, and.

You're just over there. Such can't, I can't get. What

you need to do is get in the water. What

you need to do is get in the residence of God.

What you need to discover that what David said, one

thing have I desired, and that will I seek after

that I may dwell in the House of the Lord

all the days.

Of my life.

I need his presence more than I need anything in

my life.

Come on.

And I came to prophesie to these dry bones, and

I declare the breath of God to come into this house.

I prophesied the breath of the Holy Spirit to begin

to bring life into you. Breathe life into your marriage,

Breathe life into your into your nove. So bring life

into your soul. Breathe the life that your spirit be living.

In the name of Gee, the Holy Spirit that's on

the inside, let him, let him come to life, let

him be activated in you, because you can't do it.

It's the Holy Spirit today that puts things in motion.

It's the Holy Spirit today that causes our lives to

be changed. And I've been around. I never forget, and

I call my clothes with this. I remember get my

wife and I didn't talk about it in the first service,

and I hope you shall get mad at me. But

I remember we were in Chick fil A. My wife

had dealt that she had been dealing with some of

her tonsils and.

And she got to the point where she.

Didn't even like to eat food because it cost her

to choke. And I remember we were in Chick fil

A one day and all of a sudden She's standing

there and she's gasping, and I'm looking at like, what's

the matter.

But she can't even talk because the food had been

choking her.

And the most scariest thing to see my wife in

panic right there at Chick fil A were going out.

We went out and in and outside, and I had

to do the homlch on theneuver and how many no,

how many no?

Men? You you you trying.

Not to hurt your wife, but you got to get

that chicken nugget out. Amen, give me, just give me

the chicken nugget was choking her.

She called doubt. And the first thing you need to

go breath. She need breath. And some of you are choking,

and the Holy spirits come up. Give you breath, Give

you breath. Stay with me.

You need breath. You need the breath of God. You see,

I think about.

A moment in my life. See, there's two people in

this room.

There's people that are that are in a condition of death,

spiritual death.

And you need you need God.

And it's the work of the Holy Spirit that brings conviction,

opens your eyes to your spiritual condition, that your dry

bones and without the Holy Spirit's work of convicting you

and pointing you to Christ. You're gonna stay as those

dead bones. And there's some of us in this room.

We've been as symboled, but we don't got breath. We

got a form, but we don't have power.

Today. The devil's not scared.

Of a form, he's scared of the power.

You need the power.

You need the activity of the Holy Spirit in your life.

You need the Holy Spirit on Monday when you go

to work. You need the Holy Spirit. On Tuesday when

your kids are getting.

On your nerves. You need the Holy Spirit.

When you're making decisions and you don't know what.

To do, you need the God.

You need to breathe on you because you can't do

this walk by yourself. You need the activity of the

Holy Spirit, breathing, moving, living in you, guiding, directing, counseling.

All Holy Spirit lead me today, a Holy Spirit. Breathe

into me, a Holy Spirit, Speak to me, a Holy Spirit,

direct me, a Holy Spirit, Teach.

Me, O Holy Spirit, counsel me, O Holy Spirit, Guide me. Lord.

I need your activity. I don't need just your power.

I need everything you have. I need you to breathe

on me. Some of you are facing decisions. I hear

the Holy Ghost right now, speak to me. And you

don't know left or right. And you've talked to everybody

about the Holy Spirit. But he's a counselor. He's a counselor.

He's the Peraklitos. He's the counselor that guide you and

directs you. And some of us are making decisions on

what looks good and having asked the Holy Ghost, but

otve the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will shut doors

and the Holy Spirit will open doors. What you need

is you need a God.

Today.

Every head bout and everybody closed the one looking around, O,

Holy Spirit, I need you.

Who God? I can't. I can't save them. I can't.

My preaching is not going to change their hearts. Paul said,

I didn't come to the excellency of man's wisdom and
