-
Burning Lamb Church. You may take your seat while
-
I was preparing this message. I was asking the
-
Lord, what should I speak of? And when the pastor
-
told me at the beginning of the week, he said,
-
could you teach? And I send him a scaredy cat
-
face. And he stayed there and didn't say anything
-
else. And I said, oh Lord, I have to get ready.
-
What do you want to say, Lord? What do you want
-
to tell your church? The pastor didn't say anything
-
else. But nonetheless, I have to go to the one
-
that knows it all. And I began to ask the Lord,
-
what are you going to tell the church? And I
-
began to be filled with the word of what he wants
-
to speak of. And then yesterday, the pastor sends
-
me what we're going to speak of today. And so
-
that you may know the Lord is so perfect that
-
we know that this is effectively what he wants
-
to speak of. Because what I had already prepared
-
is exactly what he told me to speak of. So for
-
each one of you, this word. word has to do with
-
and being forged in love and in fire of God.
-
from the beginning of the week he began to speak
-
to me about love and about the fire of God and
-
the same way in the message of the pastor he
-
said I want you to speak about two points about
-
love and the fire of God the fire of the Holy
-
Spirit and that brings me peace because I know
-
that God is involved I know that the Lord is
-
going to do something with each one of us. This
-
church doesn't have this name in coincidence.
-
He's making of each one of us a lamp that is
-
burning. So the first point, what is love? I
-
want to go to 1 John chapter 7 verse 8. Beloved,
-
let us love one another, for love is of God,
-
and everyone who loves is born of God and knows
-
God. He who does not love does not know God,
-
for God is love. but look what's interesting
-
it says all who loves is born in God and knows
-
God so for me to love I have to know God Not
-
only do I love, first I need to be born of God
-
and know God. So when I begin to know Him, that
-
love begins to be reflected. But in truth, the
-
love that we have is only experienced in Him.
-
And I want to speak about the love of God in
-
a different dimension. Where the love of God
-
comes to be mixed in with the fire of God. Because
-
the love of God, when you experience it, it's
-
like a burning fire within you. It's something
-
that comes and penetrates you so deep. that it
-
begins to burn within you. We know that God loves
-
with all of His intention. When He comes with
-
all of His love, He goes deep into our being.
-
When we first get to know Him, we experience
-
that love for the first time. That love comes
-
and breaks all That love comes and opens the
-
eyes. That love comes and turns on the lamp that's
-
within us. It's inevitable. It's something that
-
you can't explain. That you can't avoid something
-
turns on within you. You are hungry and you're
-
thirsty for Him. Now you feel the need to hear
-
of Him. You're not pleased with just one sermon.
-
You hear the word and something happens in your
-
spirit. Because that love, when it came into
-
your heart, it burned everything that wasn't
-
worth. Everything that was asleep in your spirit.
-
And that love comes and opens your eyes. That's
-
why you see those people that look like they're
-
crazy. But it's the passion that's within the
-
person. It's inevitable. And I pray that today
-
we leave all, we're burning for Him. Because
-
that's one of His promises. That we may burn
-
for Him. In 1 John 4, From verse 16 forward,
-
And we have known and believed the love that
-
God has for us. Says God is love. And he who
-
abides in love abides in God and God in him.
-
So one point is that first we get to know him
-
through love. But now we have to abide in love,
-
which is God. We don't want this love to ever
-
run out. And we don't want this love to be contained.
-
But let it run. that others may experience the
-
love of God. But we have to abide in God. And
-
we already learned this a few months back. Of
-
what it is to abide in God. Now the second point
-
is when love becomes a fire in one. We get to
-
know the love of God. It's like a push in our
-
life. So then it becomes a fire within us. And
-
what does that fire come for? First it comes
-
and cleanses everything that is not supposed
-
to be there. It's the fire that pushes us to
-
continue. It turns everything, it makes everything
-
alive that was dead. God is the one that initiates
-
the fire. We don't initiate anything. He initiates
-
it. He invites you. He tells you come. He's speaking
-
all the time. He tells the fire. But you know
-
it's our responsibility that that fire remains
-
burning. Getting to the chapter of Exodus 2020
-
is when the Lord asks Moses to go and gather
-
the people to be presented before the Lord. They
-
go to Mount Sinai. Sinai. They go to Mount Sinai.
-
And look what verse 20 says. It says, and Moses
-
responded to the people. Do not fear, because
-
to test us the Lord has come. and so that his
-
fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.
-
So God had a great purpose when he gathered the
-
people at Mount Sinai. It says so that fear of
-
the Lord may be before you and that you may not
-
sin. The Lord wanted to cleanse them. He wanted
-
them to experience his power there. The word
-
says that we are sanctified in the fear of the
-
Lord. So to give you a perspective of the story,
-
they're in Mount Sinai. And everything is shaking.
-
It's the black cloud that is there. It was giving
-
them fear. They didn't want to grow near. Even
-
though God wanted them to come. But if you can
-
imagine that moment, the trumpet sound that was
-
there, and everything was shaking, smoke was
-
coming out of the mountain, and then the people
-
were terrified. Even Moses, he was terrified
-
of what he was seeing. But to the point where
-
the people tell Moses, we don't want to go over
-
there They couldn't handle it. It was too much
-
for them. The fear was great that came upon them.
-
But there's a difference here. Because when the
-
power of God is right there in Mount Sinai, then
-
the Lord tells Moses, come close. And he comes
-
close to the fire. But the people stay behind
-
just watching. You don't think that's a little
-
bit familiar of how we see things? Some come
-
close, one of the fire is there. And others are
-
just watching from afar. But you know, when you're
-
watching from afar, you're only receiving one
-
inspiration. But when you come close to the fire
-
of God, that fire consumes everything within
-
you that's not supposed to be there. The fire
-
of God, when you see it from afar, it's only
-
amazing. But when you come to the fire of God
-
and you allow yourself to be transformed, That
-
fire of God forges you. It commissions you. It
-
sends you to your assignment. It places you in
-
your purpose. You're no longer fearful. Moses
-
experienced that fire because he came close.
-
And that's where he was commissioned. He was
-
commissioned to his assignment. So what would
-
you prefer to do? Being from afar, watching the
-
fire? or to come close to the fire, and allow
-
God to transform everything that is in you. In
-
James 4, 8, it says, grow near to the Lord, and
-
he shall grow near to you. It says, sinful hands.
-
Cleanse your hands you sinners and purify your
-
hearts you double -minded So if we don't want
-
to be double -minded all of this sin We need
-
to come close to the Lord And you see this position
-
is different Because this is a spiritual position
-
Because we all know that God is within us Why
-
does he tell us to come close? If he says he's
-
in us, then he abides in us through his Holy
-
Spirit. You want to know why? It's because this
-
is a spiritual position where I no longer...
-
ignore the voice of God. I don't ignore the voice
-
of the Holy Spirit. The impulses of the Spirit.
-
That's where I draw near to the Lord. And the
-
Spirit guides me. When one has an encounter with
-
the Spirit, with the fire of God, they're never
-
the same. The false falls down and what shines
-
is the truth. Everything that needs to be tested
-
by fire. Like the gold, silver, it's refined
-
in fire. But what comes out of it is the most
-
beautiful of that material. The dirt or the messiness
-
comes out of the gold. So for us, it's beneficiary
-
to be in the fire. Once you're in the fire, You're
-
never gonna ignore the calling of God. You're
-
never gonna want to quit that calling. You're
-
never gonna want to go back. The fire of God
-
maintains you. The fire of God impulses you.
-
We all need that fire. Last week, do you remember
-
what happened here? The fire of God was in this
-
house. And it's here today too. Because the Spirit
-
of God, the fire is here. Like it happened in
-
Pentecost. The spirit came down. And it came
-
down with fire. And it says to baptize them in
-
spirit and in fire. Last week the Lord was cleansing
-
this house. And He's going to continue cleansing
-
us. Let's not ignore the fire. Look, Prophet
-
Jeremiah said it. He said that the word of God
-
burned so much in him. Look what Jeremiah 27
-
says. And you can translate. Oh Lord, you induced
-
me. And I was persuaded you are stronger than
-
I. And you have prevailed. The Lord prevailed
-
over Jeremiah. He had placed the word in Jeremiah.
-
Even though through all the problems that he
-
went through. Rejection. All the mocking that
-
he had to deal with. But he burned so much within
-
him. The fire that got placed in him. That he
-
said, I cannot stay quiet. Because this word
-
that you placed in me. It's a fire in my heart.
-
It burns. You cannot stay quiet once you've been
-
visited by the fire because you feel like you're
-
about to explode. It says that it felt like there
-
was a burning heart within my bones. It says
-
I tried to be quiet, but I stayed quiet, but
-
I couldn't. Moses had experience with the fire.
-
And he was never the same. Moses was a shepherd
-
to his sheep. That's what he knew to do. He did
-
it for a long time. But when he had the visitation
-
in the burning bush, his mind was transformed
-
in such a way that now he thought about people.
-
He suffered the pain that the slaves had. He
-
was commissioned to his assignment. There are
-
two ways to experience the fire of God. That
-
is the same presence of the Lord. Because the
-
word says that he's a consuming fire. Which is
-
the presence of God. The presence of God sometimes
-
comes to us. But sometimes we have to go to his
-
presence. His presence comes. When you don't
-
even know Him or know who He is In your heart
-
is to seek the Lord But that's when He comes
-
and He rescues you from where you are The presence
-
of God comes to you His presence comes looking
-
for you. But when you go and seek the presence
-
of the Lord, that's another different thing.
-
And he said it here in Isaiah 26 9. Says, I have
-
seeked you all night with my soul. And as long
-
as the Spirit abides in me, I will awaken to
-
seek you. What fire, what passion. Con mi alma
-
te he deseado toda la noche. With my soul I have
-
desired you all night. Saben nosotros podemos
-
estar descansando en nuestras camas. You know
-
sometimes we could be resting in our beds. Usted
-
está bien profundo. And you're asleep so deep.
-
Pero este espíritu nunca duerme. But this spirit
-
never sleeps. Nuestro espíritu está conectado
-
24 horas con el espíritu de Dios. Our spirit
-
is connected 24 -7 with the spirit of God. Y
-
dice te he deseado toda la noche. And he says
-
I have desired you all night. Tu espíritu desea
-
tanto. Your spirit desires so much the presence
-
of God. Your spirit desires so much that presence
-
of God. It says, and I will seek you in the morning.
-
And it's to say that we never stop. There's not
-
a specific time. It's not only on Sundays or
-
just Mondays. You're sleeping and you're visiting
-
the Lord. You're sleeping and He's filling you
-
with His fire and His passion. That never stops.
-
And now that you're awake, now that your mind
-
is awake, didn't the psalmist said bless the
-
Lord of my soul? That's where you remind your
-
soul each day. Bless the Lord, oh my soul. And
-
never forget any of His benefits. Because the
-
Spirit is always wanting to. But the soul where
-
all of our emotions are. Where our will is. Where
-
our mind is. That doesn't want to. But you tell
-
your soul you have to bless the Lord. You tell
-
your soul today we're going to seek the fire
-
of God. Until your soul is aligned with the spirit
-
of God. The Bible says that we are children guided
-
by the spirit. Your soul is not what guides the
-
Spirit. Your soul is what submits to follow the
-
Spirit. You never tell the Spirit what to do.
-
Your desires submit to the desires of the Holy
-
Spirit. To the impulses of the Spirit. So when
-
you don't feel that fire, you tell yourself,
-
Bless the Lord. Today we seek of the Lord. I
-
know that today you don't want anything. Maybe
-
today everything is boring. But we're going to
-
get in the fire today. And we're going to be
-
one with God.
