Near: David’s Longing | Ps Ben Moir

Hi everybody. I have a question for you.

As a church, what do we want to be known

for? Is it our worship, being real and

authentic, friendly, is it teaching

God's word, salvation,

being welcoming, humble, spirit-led,

adventurous, fun? They're all great, and

we believe in all of those, but what is

God looking for [music] in a church?

It's a good question, isn't it? It's one

I wrestle with regularly. Samuel is a

prophet in the Old Testament on the hunt

for a new king. He's recruiting. He's

looking at the CVs, posting jobs on

Seek, and God tells him to go to Jesse's

[music] house.

So, he sees his son, the eldest, strong,

capable, tall.

But, in 1 Samuel 16:7, [music]

1 Samuel 16:7

the Lord says, "Don't judge by his

appearance or his height,

for I have rejected him. God doesn't see

things the way you see them. People

judge by the outward appearance, but

God" What does God do?

God looks at the the heart.

God chose David

because he had a heart after him. He was

known as having a heart after God.

God is looking for people

who have a heart after him.

So, God is looking for a church

that has a heart after him. Do you

have a heart after God? This is the

question we're going to wrestle with and

study in our series Near.

It's based on James 4:8, where there's a

James 4:8

simple but a powerful promise, "Draw

near to God,

and he'll draw near to you." This series

will address how to draw near to the

Lord. How do we make room for his

presence in our lives, relationship with

him, love and affection, devotion

towards him? It's a series about

strengthening our relationship with

Jesus [music] Christ, challenging us to

connect with him uh with a strong focus

on worship and ministry time in our

services for people to experience the

presence of God. And ultimately here's

the goal, lead us and me

to continue to have a heart after God

because that's what God is looking for.

>> So good. Well, if you have your Bibles,

let's jump to Psalm 63.

We'll be just looking at four verses

today. Just four. And we're just going

to keep going back over them for the

whole next 30 minutes.

Uh so if you if you have a paper Bible,

at the top you'll actually see this

uh this uh line that says this is a

Psalm of David when he was in the

wilderness of Judah. That's very

important for what we're going to be

talking about today.

But from verse one it says, "O God, you

are my God. Earnestly I seek you. My

soul thirsts for you."

"My flesh faints for you, as in a dry

and weary land where there is no water.

So I have looked upon you in the

sanctuary, beholding your power and

glory. Because your steadfast love is

better than life, my lips will praise

you." "So I'll bless you as long as I

live. In your name I will lift up my

hands."

The title of my message today is this,

David's longing.

How do we have

uh a heart after God? How do we have a

heart that's longing for the presence of

God in our life? David, in one of his

Psalms he says, "Take everything from me

except your presence."

Cuz your presence is all I need.

How do we have that kind

of relationship with God?

Let's pray.

Dearly Father,

I just thank you for this opportunity to

preach your word.

Lord, I pray it's your words, not mine.

Tell me what to say, stop what needs to

be stopped, translate that which needs

to be translated that nothing falls upon

deaf ears.

Lord, I pray that you open our eyes to

see, our ears to hear.

Speak

for your servants are listening. Any

distractions,

Lord, I pray you quiet them right now.

Your mighty name. Amen.

Have you ever woken up

and just been incredibly thirsty? Like

uh someone's already gone, "Yep, that's

me."

This morning. Oh, it's winter.

But like it's a 40° day and somehow the

sun has just come out and you're like

parched, right? And parents, we know

there is no one thirstier than a child

trying to go to bed.

Every time. I just need more water. I

just need that. It's like

No, you just need to go to sleep.

They're like, on Thursday, my daughter

had been asleep for 3 hours and then I

heard some um noise from her room, so I

went in

and she's like, "Apple juice."

I'm like,

"Good evening to you, too."

Got her apple juice and

then she was up for hours. It was great.

Even my son, my son, he

he he's a fancy boy.

He's not He's not all about this still

water business.

He needs sparkling water to go to bed.

He needs sparkles. If it's not sparkles,

what's the point? Like, where are my

sparkle fans? Who loves sparkling water?

Who thinks sparkling water tastes like

TV static?

Yeah.

We can pray for you later.

But like even for

for an Australian, right?

40° day, you're at school, primary

school, and you just reach into your

bag, and you're like, "Praise the Lord,

And Mom froze half the bottle."

Come on, like, how good is that when

you're like,

I don't I don't know if it was just a

'90s thing, or if they still do it, but

it's like, man, praise the Lord, I just

have this half-frozen bottle to get me

through the day.

This is how David is feeling.

He's reached out into his bag, and he's

like, "I don't got no frozen bottle of

water." And he And this is the context

that he's writing Psalm 63 in.

He's in the wilderness.

He's in the middle of nowhere.

And he's looking left and right. He's

fleeing from an enemy, more than likely

King Saul that he is fleeing from.

He's under pressure. He's in danger. He

looks around at his geographical

location, and he sees barrenness,

nothing, no water, no sustenance,

nothing that can help him.

This boy was more than thirsty. He was

dehydrated.

He was He needed water more than

anything else. And I actually looked up

some of the

the physical things that can happen to a

body when you're dehydrated. Your blood

vessels can constrict, or you can

have low blood pressure, your heart rate

increases, fluid gets drawn from your

cells, your kidneys can malfunction. You

then have your brain cells shrink,

leading to confusion, fainting, a coma,

or worse.

This is how David felt

out in the wilderness.

He wasn't just like, "Oh, I'm a little

bit thirsty." No, he was like, "There is

nothing for me out here.

I've got nothing left,

and I look out, and there is no water."

And in this moment,

David, he compares his physical state of

dehydration

to a spiritual one.

One of longing for God.

Cuz he understood that his physical need

of water was just a reflection of his

spiritual need for God.

So he compares these two things. As he's

writing this Psalm, he's trying to

explain it to you and I

the the way he was feeling about his

longing for God. He was trying to

explain it in a way that you and I could

understand. He's like, "You've been

thirsty before. That's how you should be

feeling about God.

The all you want is him. All you need is

him. You know that whatever might be

going on in your life, if you just had

God, everything would be okay."

Cuz just as your body was made for

water,

your soul was made for God.

Your body was built and created to

function off water, and your soul was

created to function off of God.

But this feeling that David is

describing is not one of slave to

master, not one of a lowly slave just

going, "If my master was just here,

it'll just be a little bit all right."

No, this is one of close personal

proximity relationship.

I understand and know my God, and he

understands and knows me.

But this relationship was unheard of in

ancient times.

See, ancient peoples, they they

understood and they believed in God or a

god,

but the way they viewed him was

something to get towards or someone to

move towards.

If I sacrifice this, you give me victory

in my conquests. If I worship you in

this way,

you will give me good weather and a ripe

harvest.

They knew that it was

that the relationship was transactional,

it was distant, and it was impersonal at

best.

This is how the ancient people viewed

God. So, when David is here going, "No,

no, I know my God.

We're friends.

We talk to each other." This is

confusing

in the context of of this Psalm being

written.

And then we rush forward to today,

and if we're honest, we're no different

than the ancient people.

We have different issues, but the same

outcome.

We live in a society built on

individualism. If you want to be an

adult, you need to work out how to live

by yourself.

And everything is all comes down to can

you do it alone? Can you do it by

yourself? Can you be the individual that

you're created to be?

And because of this, we think a grow we

are brought up in this culture of like,

"I can do it myself.

If I just need something, I'll I'll I'll

work more to get more money, and I can

pay for it. If I just need bread, I'll

go down to the store. And whatever I

need, I can do myself. And only if it's

outside of my control, then I may call

on God."

We try and do it out in our own might,

try to do it in our own strength, and we

wonder why things aren't changing.

Because we end up end up end up having a

relationship with God just like the

ancient people did. Transactional, we're

using God as a vending machine,

distant, we just try and keep him at

arm's length,

and we have no true real relationship

with our God.

But when we read scripture, when we read

the Bible,

at the heart of the Christian faith is

this belief that the creator of the

universe

longing and he desire eagerly desires to

have a relationship with every single

person in this room.

That is what is at the heart of the

Christian faith that the God in heaven

wants you to know him.

And David, he knew this.

And that's why he and that's the place

that he is coming from when he is

writing Psalm 63.

Relational language is all throughout

the Bible from Genesis all the way

through to Revelation. In 1 John 3:1,

1 John 3:1

God is described as a father.

In Isaiah 54, he's described as a

husband. In John 15, he's described as a

friend. In Mark 3, he's described as a

brother.

Time and time again, when we read about

our God, he is not a distant God, but he

is a personal God that wants a

relationship with you.

And he came down from heaven,

lived a perfect life and he died so that

we can have that relationship with him.

And you might be in this room and you've

never decided to give your life to God.

You've never had a relationship with

God. Maybe you've known about God, but

you've never really truly had this

relationship that David is describing.

At the end of the message, I'm going to

give you an opportunity to respond.

Maybe you just need to get your

relationship right with Jesus or maybe

you've just never said yes and today you

say, "No, I need to say yes cuz whatever

this relationship is, this is what I

need."

Cuz the creator of the universe imagine

that

the creator of everything

wants a relationship with you

but a relationship is two ways

so the question today is not can you get

to God cuz you can doesn't matter what

you've done doesn't matter how far you

feel you are away from him

you can get to God the question is how

would you describe your relationship

with Jesus today

how would you describe your relationship

would you describe it as far distant

cold

transactional

maybe it's on life support

maybe you feel like you're just going

through the motions

or do you feel near

close exciting the relationship is

life-giving loving

you enjoy and you want to spend time

with him

how would you describe your relationship

with Jesus today cuz David in this song

he gives us a glimpse of what our life

could look like

he gives us a glimpse of what our lives

should look like if we have a heart

truly after God not a heart that is

second thought after God is like I'll

get my stuff right and then

God should be our number one God should

be our priority when we have God as

number one everything will fall into

place afterwards

that's what David did time and time

again

and if you read the story of David he is

definitely not perfect

he sinned many times

and then wrote about it so we could read

about it

but he understood that even in his sin

he had a heart after God cuz he had God

first and because of that God did

miracles and wonders in his life.

So, today

if you feel far from God,

if you feel far from Jesus, maybe you're

just like, "I've just never said yes."

Maybe you've said yes multiple times,

but today you're like,

"Yeah, my relationship's not going all

so well."

There is good news for you today.

Cuz in James 4:8, it says, "Draw near to

James 4:8

God and he will draw near to you."

This is a promise and a simple promise

at that. This is not saying, "Draw near

to God and God will think about it."

This is not saying, "Get clean, draw

near to God, and then God may come." No,

no. It is saying, "Draw near to God and

he will draw near to you."

It is simple as that.

It doesn't matter what you've done. It

doesn't matter what you've gone through.

It doesn't matter how far away you think

you are.

Let me tell you,

if he can't save you, he can't save

anyone.

It's simple as that. But I know in my

Bible and I know through my experience

and my friends that I talk to, my God

has saved us.

He is a God that is able to save and

he's able to continue to save. So, it

doesn't matter how far you feel you are

from God today, he is able to save and

he is mighty to save. All we need to do

is respond

to that salvation.

And then once we have responded to the

salvation, how

do we draw near? How do we build this

relationship uh that longs for God? How

do we build

a a life that is has a heart after God?

How do we do that?

And we can read in Psalms 63. There are

three things that David knew

or David did.

Number one,

seek God.

And let me tell you, these three things

are going to sound way easier than they

are to do.

So, I'm kind of going to try and give

you as much practical advice as possible

so you can go into your week and start

drawing near to God.

We need to seek God. In verse one, it

says, "O God, you are my God. Earnestly

I seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My

flesh faints for you."

David sought the Lord to fulfill his

needs and nothing else.

He didn't look to the world. He didn't

look to things around him. He's like,

"No, no, no. There is a need in me that

can only be filled by God." Every single

person, it says in the Bible that we

have all have heaven in our hearts.

There is a spiritual need and longing

inside of us that should draw us to God

and should be filled by God, yet

we allow the world to fill it instead.

Just like when we're dehydrated,

we might be out in the wilderness and

you're like, "Anything wet will do.

As long as it's a liquid, I'm going to

drink it cuz it should be better than

nothing, right?"

But I know people in their day-to-day,

they they

they drink soft drink more than water.

They drink juice more than water. They

drink You name it. And these things in

the moment, they can feel like they are

fulfilling you, but all they do is they

mask and delay

the actual need that is required within

you.

You drink soft drink and what you need

is water to be hydrated, but you drink

soft drink and it and it feels good. It

tastes good.

But that sugar at the end of the day is

actually going to leave you more

dehydrated than you begin with.

And just like that, we allow the things

of this world to mask and delay our

spiritual need inside of us. We do

whatever we can. We We We do whatever we

can lay our hands on.

We allow entertainment to fill our

lives. We allow social media to fill our

lives. We allow We We We go after sex.

You know, if I just have that boyfriend,

if I just have that girlfriend.

Alcohol, money, that job, whatever it

might be, we go after the things of this

world to fulfill in us that need for

God.

And the funny thing is is most of the

things that we go after aren't sins.

They're not inherently bad. Money is not

bad.

Sex is not bad when crea- when done

within the parameters that God has laid

out.

It's good.

It creates life.

Yet, when we use that in place of God,

that's when our lives start feeling like

they're not going the right direction.

So, we allow God We allow the things of

this world to fill our lives

instead of God, and we wonder why.

We wonder why our life feels the way it

does.

We feel empty, unfulfilled, we feel dry.

We feel like, you know what? This is as

good as life's going to get.

Life is just a little bit meh, but

whatever. I'll do what I can with it my

own strength

to fulfill that need in me.

Whatever that need may be in you,

no amount of the world is going to

fulfill you.

We need God to fill that gap in us. This

is what David did. He sought God and God

alone.

That's why he had a heart after God. Did

he sin? Yes.

Did he repent? Yes.

Every time.

His eyes just drew back to God, and he

looks like, "You are my center. You are

my all. I'm going to go after you."

So, this week,

what my encouragement is to seek God.

Ask him. Ask God. Ask Holy Spirit

to identify the things in your life

that are killing your longing for God.

What are you doing in your life?

What are you doing in your day-to-day

that's maybe is

not inherently bad, but

is

stopping you

from having a true and fulfilled

relationship with God.

If I'm going to be honest,

and I can be and it's going to get

recorded, so then I'll have

accountability.

I watch Netflix a lot. I love TV shows.

I had a friend over this week, and we're

like I was talking like, "How many shows

have you watched?" She's like, "Oh, we

watched like one show this year." I'm

like, "Cool, I've one watched one show

this week."

Right? Like

and there's no harm in entertainment.

There's no harm in Netflix, but when one

episode becomes two, becomes three every

single night for a week, you've spent a

whole day watching TV

and nothing else.

So, I know I need to

back off of my Netflix, spend more time

with God.

What is it in you? What is it in your

day-to-day

that is killing your longing for God?

Cuz we need to seek God. Number two, we

see that David, he knew God.

It says in verse two, "So, I have looked

upon you in the sanctuary, beholding

your power and glory. Because your

steadfast love is better than life, my

lips will praise you." David knew who

his God was.

He knew who his God was.

And the thing is that all relationships

take time and effort.

We can't expect that if we just read the

Bible a couple of times, have one

encounter one Sunday, that our

relationship is all well and good.

That is not how this thing works.

All relationships take time.

And you can't have a close relationship

with anyone

without work or effort.

Dr. Willard Harley, who wrote in my

opinion one of the best books on

marriage.

He said that to build

a

intentional and close relationship,

you need to spend 15 hours of undivided

attention per week

with that person.

So, you need to spend 15 hours a week.

And I'm not saying go home today and

just be like, "I'm blacking out. I'm

just I'm I'm going to spend all of my

time with God and I'm good." No.

5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes here

and there throughout your whole week.

You spend an hour and a half on a

Sunday.

But is it intentional?

God is no different.

Because of our brokenness, because of

our humanity, we need to spend time with

him to build our relationship with him.

See, God knows everything about you.

He knows more about you than you know

about you.

He don't need to know any more about

you. You need to know more about him.

You need to spend more time with him.

You need to build your relationship with

him.

This is what

reading your Bible looks like, praying

looks like, worshipping, fasting,

meditating,

sitting in silence.

And I know sometimes silence can be real

awkward, ex- especially for people that

grew up in Sydney.

I remember when we I

from West Sydney to the to um

I forget where we moved to. Moved

somewhere out this way.

But I I remember this first and I was

just like

it was silent every all night. I was

like, man, this is wild. I didn't know

night could be like this.

But sometimes silence and solitude is

awkward because we're we're just built

to always have sound around us, to build

to always just have something in our

faces.

But we need to build and and plan

intentional time in our week cuz if you

don't plan it, it won't happen.

If you intend to have time with God, it

won't happen. Just like you intend as

husbands to have that date night.

But if you're not planning it, if it's

not in your diary, it's not going to

happen.

So I encourage you today, put it in your

diary.

Put it in your week to know God, to

spend time with God, to build your

relationship with him. And lastly, as

the band comes, we need to respond to

God. So we need to seek God, we need to

know God, and then we need to respond to

God.

In verse 3 and 4, David says, "Because

your steadfast love is better than life,

my lips will praise you. So I will bless

you as long as I live. In your name, I

will lift up my hands."

See, David didn't just see the goodness

of God and go, "Love him."

And walk on. No, no. He saw the goodness

of God and he responded to it. He said,

"Oh my goodness, how good, how great is

my God."

There's a story of David literally

taking off all his clothes and dancing

in the street cuz he's like, "This is

how good my God is."

We have one rule at Elevation, please

wear clothes.

Just going to lay that out. Some Some of

the Bible is prescriptive, some of it's

descriptive. All right?

But we need to respond to God. And

throughout the Old Testament, we see

seven Hebrew words for praise. See, when

we say praise today, we kind of just

mean, "Oh, is that singing? Is that

praying? Is that worship?" I don't

really know what praise is. Or if we we

say the word worship, right? Is worship

just that 20 minutes at the start of the

service?

Or what is What is worship?

So, when we look at the seven Hebrews of

seven Hebrew words for praise, we can

get a better understanding of how how

should we respond to our God? How should

we act towards our God? And in this

passage,

we see four of the seven Hebrew words

for praise show up. Two in uh in word

and two in description.

The first one we see is in verse three.

It says, "Because your steadfast love is

better than life, my lips will shabach

you."

Or in the Hebrew, it's like, "My lips

are shabach'd up."

Which is just real aggressive, but it's

a good thing. So, shabach means to to

shout, to yell, to commend, to to be

loud, to just just just scream at the

top of your lungs, "My God is good!"

And sometimes we can see a loud praise,

or we can see loud worship, and we can

kind of be like, "Mm."

Why does he have to be so loud?

I'm just trying to have my moment with

Jesus here, and he's yelling at me.

Well, maybe

he's got something to yell about.

Maybe he's seen God work in his life

that all he's got All he's got is I can

scream and shout cuz my God has done a

miracle in my life.

So, I'm going to yell. I'm going to make

noise. I don't care. I'm going to be

silly cuz my God is good.

The second word we see

is in the next verse.

In verse four, it says, "So I will bless

you or I I will

barak you."

Also aggressive. Just Hebrew words in

general, a lot of aggressiveness, but

"I will barak you."

Barak means to kneel,

to bow, to be in reverence.

Just to sit in the presence of God and

go,

"You are good.

You are

good. Hallelujah

>> [music]

>> to the King of kings." And I love this

contrast. In one verse, he's screaming

and shouting,

"My God is good." And then in the next

verse, he's on his knees going, "Ooh,

my God is good."

How do you respond to Jesus? How do you

respond to the goodness of God in your

life?

And the last one we see

in verse four, it says, "In your name, I

will lift up my hands."

There are two Hebrew words, [music] yada

and toda.

And both of these Hebrew words mean to

lift up my hands in praise to my God.

[music]

So lifting up our hands is not a

Pentecostal thing.

Lifting up your hands is not a

charismatic thing. Lifting up your hands

is a biblical thing.

We're not just saying, "Lift up your

hands if you feel good." No, lift up

your hands if you got something to

praise about. Lift up your hands if you

got something to tell someone about. If

your God has been good in your life,

lift up your hands cuz our God is good.

I know there are people in this room

that have seen miracles happen in their

life.

And if you've seen a miracle happen in

your life, if you got something to

praise God about, come on, let's make

some noise for our God in this place.

Cuz there is someone next to you that

might need that praise.

It might have happened 5, 10 years ago

in your life, but that person might be

walking through it right now. And your

scream, your shout, your hands in the

air might change the environment of that

person go, "You know what? It might be

okay. It might happen." Cuz the God of

heaven is here in this room.

So, on a Sunday, when you come, are you

just singing, "How great is that?" Or

you singing, "How great is our God?" How

great and good is our God? Cuz he's done

something in my life, and I know he can

do it for you, too. God, you've done it

before, so do it again.

You've done it for him, you can do it

for me.

Our God can heal. Our God can set free.

Our God can raise the dead.

But

most of all, our God can save.

The greatest miracle that he can do is

save someone.

Which I find it so interesting when you

you pray for salvation, but you um and

ah about praying for [music] healing.

Salvation is a far bigger thing than

healing.

Healing is easy for God.

Salvation took his son's life.

So, if you're in this room today,

>> [music]

>> and maybe you you don't know this God,

or maybe you do know Jesus.

But right now, your relationship does

not look like the one in Psalm [music]

63.

The you aren't

longing after God. You don't have a

heart after God.

You just kind of like, "Yeah, I'm going

through the motions. I'm doing this

thing."

Today, you need to respond.

Whether you know him or not.

Maybe today you need to respond and say,

"You know what? I need to say yes to

Jesus.

I need to give my life to Jesus. I need

to give my life [music] back to Jesus.

Whatever it is.

And if that's you in this room, in a

moment I'm going to give you an

opportunity to respond. I'm going to

give you an opportunity to say yes to

the greatest gift of all, salvation.

Because our God

he created you and I from dust, from

nothing. He created you and I.

Yet in our humanity we have sinned. We

have all sinned and we are separated

from our great God. Yet

he gave his son

to die upon that cross so that we could

come back into relationship with our

heavenly Father, back into relationship

with our King of kings.

But now it takes a response. Now it

takes

a repentance. It just takes one step

from you saying

"I don't know much, but I know I'm a

sinner

>> [music]

>> and I need this God to save me."

So with eyes closed across this room.

If that's you in the room.

If you're here today and you're saying

"Man, I

my life does not look like the way I

thought it would. My life is going in a

direction that I just feel like

I have no control over."

Whatever it might be for you.

God's here in this room and he wants to

save you. It just takes you

to

>> [music]

>> to confess to him, "Yes, Lord, I am a

sinner. I need you to save me." Because

it says in Acts

"Everyone that calls on the name of the

Lord shall be saved."

It doesn't matter how far you've gone.

It doesn't matter what you've been

through. It doesn't matter what doesn't

matter what you even feel like you have

gone through.

Whatever it might be.

God can save you because he saved me.

God can save you cuz he saved the person

next to you.

So, if you that's you in this room, if

you want to say yes to Jesus today,

on the count of three, I'm going to ask

you to boldly raise

your hand.

One, God loves you so much that he sent

his son [music] to die upon the cross.

Two, Jesus for the hope that was set

before him, he walked to the cross

[music]

to die for you. And three, if that's you

in this room today, if you want to say

yes, yeah, I see that hand over to the

right. Amazing, come on.

If there's anyone else in this room

today,

yeah, I see that other hand at the back.

Yeah, I see that third hand as well.

Come on.

So good. If that's you in this room, if

you want to say yes to Jesus, [music]

want to join these

three other amazing people.

So good. Well, come on, let's stand.

We're going to stand and we're going to

we're going to say this prayer together,

and then we're going to take communion,

and then we're going to respond, we're

going to sing to our God.

But right now, come on, let's say this

prayer together. Jesus, I give you my

life. I give you my all.

Thank you

for dying for me.

I call you my king.

In your mighty name, everyone said?

Come on, let's give a shout of praise to

our God and celebrate with those people

that made a decision today. If you did

make a decision, some of our team saw

you, and they would love to get a Bible

into your hand. Or maybe you did make a

decision, but didn't raise your hand.

>> [music]

>> We want to get a Bible into your hand.

It's not about a hand raise, it is all

about a heart changed. God is looking at

the heart.

So, come and see some of our team after

the service [music] would love to get a

Bible into your hand. But right now, we

are going to take communion together.

Cuz communion is a response to God. So,

we're talking about how we responding to

God. One way we get to respond is

through communion.

Cuz it says in in the Gospels that when

Jesus the night that he was [music]

betrayed, he took bread and he broke it

and he said, "Do this in remembrance of

me.

This bread is my body

broken for you.

And this wine is my blood poured [music]

out for you.

It's not just symbolic. This is Jesus.

When we eat [music] and when we drink,

now it's not literally his body and it's

not literally his blood.

see us after the service.

But as we eat and we drink, we

participate in coming into one

We say, "Thank you,

Jesus." So, Lord, we thank you. We thank

you for your grace and your mercy. We

thank you for for Jesus that you sent

him to die

so that we could be [music] saved. So,

Lord, as we eat and as we drink, we

remember you and we respond

to your salvation in our lives and your

goodness in our life and what you have

done in our life. [music] We just thank

you

in your mighty name.
