  1. Amen. Bless you guys. Thank you, Pastor

  2. Sarah, for the lovely um words earlier

  3. on. It's hard to believe it's a year

  4. gone and you guys are doing a fantastic

  5. job. Like, as we were sitting here last

  6. week and it was packed. There wasn't a

  7. there wasn't a seat in the place. And

  8. you know what? You know what that does

  9. to our heart? Love it. Because that's

  10. the heart of God that people would be

  11. would would would be drawn by a spirit

  12. and saved and discipled and and equipped

  13. where they can share their the gospel,

  14. the good news to their friends. In fact,

  15. can I take this off?

  16. Okay. Bless her that she's the wife.

  17. Here you go. Thanks, Debs. Hey, no,

  18. thank you. And look, I just want to say

  19. this starting off as well because we we

  20. this is our second week here in about

  21. seven weeks and people have said to me,

  22. "Oh, do you still come to our church?" I

  23. said,

  24. "Absolutely. That's that's our family.

  25. This is this is our house." But um you

  26. need to realize that what what has

  27. happened is that I just opened the elim

  28. and said look if we can go anywhere and

  29. preach or or encourage young pastor

  30. whatever it might be we're happy to do

  31. that cuz you mean we we we carry

  32. something in the spirit of God. We're

  33. like mothers and fathers in the faith

  34. and that's not boasting. We're not

  35. nothing special but doors have opened.

  36. In fact next week and then the following

  37. Sunday we're in Christ Church. So, I'm

  38. preaching and and then Debbiey's doing

  39. Mother's Day somewhere and then we're

  40. home for about two weeks and then we're

  41. down at House of Breakthrough in

  42. Gizbborne

  43. and we're going to Cambodia for three

  44. and a half months on missions. So, we've

  45. just committed to saying, "Hey guys, if

  46. we can help anyway, I I don't know how

  47. it's going to go. We need your prayers."

  48. Um, but we said, "Look, if we can help

  49. you guys do what you're doing, we'll

  50. come. Just let us know." And of course,

  51. Cambodia, they're a little bit slow

  52. getting back to you. Like six weeks

  53. later, they get back, they said, "Pastor

  54. Trev, we'd love to have you and Debbie

  55. here." They run a ministry where uh

  56. young girls who's been trafficing and

  57. stuff, they they actually help them get

  58. out of that and and be trained up over

  59. the next couple of years to be, you

  60. know, how to get into work and all that

  61. sort of stuff. So, Debbie will be great

  62. in that area. I'll be able to help

  63. pastors and stuff. So, guys, it's great.

  64. I mean, who said retire? It's riff iron.

  65. It's just different, but it's great. But

  66. again, we are so proud to be in the

  67. house today. And uh thank you, Pastor

  68. Aaron, for trusting me to

  69. um cuz you don't know what's going to

  70. come your day. Somebody said to me,

  71. Trev, you can do what you want and walk

  72. away. And Aaron's got to clean up the

  73. mess. I thought, I'd never do that. No,

  74. no, no, man. I tell you what, wherever

  75. we go, we'll always bring encouragement,

  76. you know, because Jesus is awesome.

  77. Okay. Can I encourage you as well, guys?

  78. Pastor Aaron asked me to speak on

  79. missions and um can I encourage you if

  80. you ever get a chance to go overseas on

  81. a mission trip, a short-term mission

  82. trip, some like might be like Lily, get

  83. a long one, but if you get a chance, I

  84. want to say take it. It'll change your

  85. life. I mean, seeing all our cultures,

  86. experiencing all our cultures and every

  87. it's just it's a blessing. And you know

  88. what? You get blessed by going, but you

  89. also bless them by being there. So, I

  90. just want to encourage you if you can do

  91. that, do it. We've got some slides here

  92. that short-term missions that we did do.

  93. And you can see the team there. And

  94. that's Cambodia, actually. The left hand

  95. side, this one is Samoa, I think. The

  96. next one's Fiji. Is

  97. it Fiji? Look at them. Look at the top

  98. middle one. That's before we went.

  99. Mission Iron had hair and I had dark

  100. hair. But but what I want to say is guys

  101. like I apologize for people who's not in

  102. the photographs because I can't put

  103. everything up. But what I want to say is

  104. this. What I realized while looking at

  105. this was that we didn't do anything

  106. different there than what we do here. We

  107. showed the love of God. You know in fact

  108. I was lucky to go into missions in 1993.

  109. I think it was 93 and uh with pastor

  110. Norm from Gizbborne and in them days all

  111. as we done as a team we had to wait in

  112. the house all day long and then at night

  113. time they would have evangelistic

  114. meetings. Pastor Norm would pray and

  115. then we'd be part of the team. But what

  116. happened over the years especially with

  117. coming through to to pastor Tarang uh we

  118. got to because I've been in so many

  119. years in a row like nine 10 years in a

  120. row I built strong friendships with the

  121. pastors and they trusted me. And what I

  122. realized was I asked him, he said,

  123. "Look, you were only allowed six people

  124. at one time." And I said, "Look, can can

  125. we bring a slightly bigger team in?" And

  126. he said, "What t what size?" And I said,

  127. "17." And we brought 17 people from

  128. Taranga. Seriously, from from this

  129. church, seven. But but here's the thing.

  130. What I realized was, guys, we're all

  131. gifted differently. We had people who

  132. could build a clanding, who could jump

  133. on their roof and kneel down the tin

  134. roof with people who could paint and

  135. stuff. So because here's the thing, you

  136. know, helping people practically is a

  137. big thing. Amen. So what I'm saying with

  138. what you just seen on the photographs,

  139. feeding the homeless and all that, we

  140. already done it here and we just took it

  141. to somewhere else. But we've seen people

  142. get saved and get set free. Now, I'm

  143. going to tell you a funny a funny story

  144. in a minute, but the word mission means

  145. a specific task or duty assigned to a

  146. person or

  147. persons to do. All right? A specific

  148. task or duty assigned to a group of

  149. people or a person to do. When Pastor

  150. Deb and I were down and we were down to

  151. South Island a few weeks

  152. ago and we we had we had a thought about

  153. do we do the bike trail ebike. So I

  154. talked to pastor Iron before left.

  155. Aaron, what do you think of that trip

  156. from Cromwell down to Clyde? Brother,

  157. you should do it. It's a beauty. Now I'd

  158. only seen some of the track from the

  159. main road when we were at Alex once

  160. coming home cuz you can look across the

  161. lake, right? So Debbie and I talked and

  162. we thought, "Okay, our mission is to do

  163. this." We'd never been on an ebike in

  164. our life. We hadn't been on an ordinary

  165. bike for about 40 years, apart from once

  166. Malcolm loaned me a bike to come down to

  167. church once. And I'll not tell you, I

  168. could hardly walk after. But this is

  169. never been on an e bike in life. So we

  170. we we we meet this guy on a Saturday

  171. morning. He gets us on an ebike each to

  172. drive around the car park and shows us

  173. what buttons to pre push and stuff. He

  174. said, "Listen, by the time you get to a

  175. certain spot, you'll know how to ride

  176. the bike." I said, "Sweet." So, we asked

  177. him, we said, "Hey, how far is it?" "Oh,

  178. it's about 30 km."

  179. 47, right? Never slept as well in my

  180. life after it. So, we we we're on these

  181. bikes and and seriously, there's just a

  182. odd little slope as we're heading along.

  183. We' we'd be riding for about 5ks and I

  184. don't know what I had done but I've

  185. obviously hit a button somewhere that

  186. knocked the bike off and put it manual

  187. cuz the next minute Debbie flies by me

  188. and I thought what and I'm tell I'm

  189. seriously these bikes are like something

  190. like 15 kgs and weight. So she goes by I

  191. can catch her. I went up this little

  192. hill. I had to get off the bike and the

  193. old pride was getting me honey slow

  194. down. So, I'm walking with a bike

  195. thinking and I'm thinking in my head,

  196. there's no way I can do this. I cannot

  197. do this mission. I am going to fail

  198. badly. I'm only on a small hill and I

  199. haven't even started. Of course, it's a

  200. woman saying, you know, God knows who to

  201. give us as a

  202. Wi-Fi. He knew what I was lacking, if

  203. you know what I mean. So, Debbie

  204. realizes, "Honey, you've been you've

  205. been doing it in manual. You turned the

  206. bike off." I said, cuz I said to her,

  207. "Honey, we we got to take these bikes

  208. back. We we can't we hang it down there

  209. and look nobody nobody will know if we

  210. don't do it because we didn't tell

  211. people we were doing it. Nobody will

  212. know anything. Keep it to yourselves.

  213. She said you forgot to switch it back on

  214. properly. So So anyway, I was showing

  215. this nice photos. No, keep go away from

  216. that one. Go to the first one. This one.

  217. Look, it looks beautiful. Hey, look at

  218. the scenery and stuff. We even got to

  219. this place where they give you coffee.

  220. They're on a little boat on the lake.

  221. There's two boats on the lake. You can

  222. buy a tea or a coffee. We didn't bother

  223. with that because we thought no, we

  224. we've still a bit of a journey to go

  225. yet. And then we've seen

  226. this that is like

  227. this. I am telling you, I don't think me

  228. and my wife have prayed as much over a

  229. period of about 35 kilometers. Honestly,

  230. Debbie fell off the bike a couple of

  231. times. She wouldn't let me take a

  232. photograph and put it on social media. I

  233. said, "Honey, are you

  234. okay?" Here's the thing, guys. The good

  235. news is we did accomplish the mission,

  236. right? It took about five hours. We did

  237. accomplish the mission, right? I said to

  238. Debbie last night, honey, how cool was

  239. that to finish the mission? That was

  240. good. I says, would you do it again?

  241. No. And what I want to say is this guy,

  242. but we were on the mission to do

  243. something. We wanted to do the ride. We

  244. wanted to finish and we finished it. You

  245. with me? When we're on a mission, guys,

  246. you know the

  247. anx. They left home and they went

  248. overseas for our benefit. The person who

  249. done the greatest mission ever was Jesus

  250. Christ who left his home in heaven and

  251. come onto this earth. Why? Because he

  252. loved us. And the thing is we carry the

  253. presence of God. I love this prayer

  254. present mission because that's the

  255. thing. See, without prayer, you're on

  256. your own strength. But you know, we

  257. carry the presence of God because we're

  258. born again. But the prayer and then the

  259. reaching out is so so so important. You

  260. with me? The great commission. Matthew

    Matthew 28:18–20

  261. 28:18-20. Then Jesus came to them and

  262. said, "All authority in heaven and on

  263. earth has been given to me. Therefore,

  264. guys, when you read your Bible and you

  265. come there, therefore, you need to know

  266. why it's therefore.

  267. Yeah. Therefore, why is therefore

  268. therefore?

  269. See, you you better take note of what's

  270. coming behind it. You with me.

  271. Therefore, he's getting their attention,

  272. guys. Let's say, look at me. Listen to

  273. what I'm going to say. Look at what

  274. happens. Go and make disciples of all

  275. nations, baptizing the name of the

  276. Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,

  277. and teaching them to obey everything I

  278. commanded you. And surely I will be with

  279. you always, even until the end of time.

  280. Guys, as disciples, he didn't say make

  281. comforts. He said make disciples. That's

  282. someone who follows Jesus, who practices

  283. his way. He said, "Command them to do

  284. the things I commanded you to do." With

  285. love, everything comes from love. But

  286. you want to realize within that love,

  287. there is miracles. There is healing.

  288. There is freedom.

  289. There is joy. There is life. You know,

  290. we're people. We're people who are not

  291. called to cause strife, but to bring

  292. life. Come on. Amen. So, he's saying to

  293. them, guys, take heed. This is what I

  294. want. The bottom line is guys, love is

  295. the key. Love is the key. Jesus is love.

  296. Jay

  297. John put this quote, "The greatest thing

  298. you can do in life is to make Jesus

  299. known to others."

  300. There's maybe some people here this

  301. morning and you give your life to

  302. Jesus,

  303. but you've maybe been anxious about

  304. sharing your faith, about sharing being

  305. a believer in Jesus. And you know, God

  306. has got people that you're around who he

  307. really wants to use you to touch. He

  308. really wants to let himself be seen

  309. through you, if that makes sense. But

  310. there's maybe somebody here this morning

  311. and you give your life to Jesus. It

  312. might have been years ago. It might have

  313. been months ago. But but there's been

  314. something that's that's holding you back

  315. from sharing just sharing the love of

  316. Jesus. Not talking about preaching to

  317. people. Just sharing that love of Jesus.

  318. You know, I don't know if there's

  319. anybody here or not, but if there is,

  320. I'd like you to be bold enough to stand

  321. now. If that's you, if you've been in

  322. that place, yeah, it's good. It's okay

  323. to stand. Stand up. If you if you feel

  324. that's you, but think of what I said.

  325. Yeah, it's okay. It's okay. You know, I

  326. had a a brother in Gizbborne and I don't

  327. know, he was saved for about 5 years and

  328. he said, "Well, Jeff, I wish I could do

  329. what you do." And I said, "What do you

  330. mean?" He says, "I wish I could tell

  331. people about Jesus." I said, "Have you

  332. not told anyone?" He says, "No, I'm too

  333. scared

  334. to I'm scared in case a little curse at

  335. me." Whatever. I said, "You know what,

  336. bro? Who cares what they do? Just reach

  337. with the love. He loves them. He cares."

  338. So Lord, I pray and I thank you for each

  339. and everyone who was courageous to stand

  340. this morning. And Lord, I pray in Jesus

  341. name that you would move by by your

  342. spirit through their lives that they

  343. would share the love of Jesus in a

  344. practical way. And Lord, when the

  345. opportunity comes to share their faith

  346. because you're the game changer, Jesus,

  347. that they would share their faith in you

  348. and their hope in you in Jesus mighty

  349. name I pray. I break all fear in Jesus

  350. name from off their lives right now in

  351. the name of Jesus. And I pray Lord

  352. freedom ensuring the good news of the

  353. gospel through their lifestyle through

  354. praying and loving on people in Jesus

  355. name. Let's give the Lord a clap guys.

  356. Thank you

  357. guys. I listen I I I thought nothing

  358. about that. My wife said to me this

  359. morning, "Honey, maybe you need to do

  360. this."

  361. She did in the car coming from home. She

  362. said, "Maybe you need to do that." I

  363. thought, "I haven't got that in my

  364. notes." I thought, "Oh, there's

  365. something to that." So, there you go.

  366. That's good. But here's the thing, guys.

  367. Making Jesus known. Our mission is to

  368. make disciples, not just comforts. J.

  369. John quote. The only thing that matters

  370. is that people come to know Christ. John

    John 3:16

  371. 3:16. To come to know Christ. People

  372. don't know. Lots of people do not know

  373. the real Jesus. He's not a swear word.

  374. He's not a religious not. He's somebody

  375. who's full of compassion and kindness

  376. and love and forgiveness and mercy who

  377. came onto this earth guys to enable us

  378. to have eternal life. He didn't have to

  379. come but because of his love. But lots

  380. of people honestly they haven't heard of

  381. the real Jesus the son of God who was

  382. full of love and compassion who came

  383. onto this earth for us. Amen. You know,

  384. love is a verb. It's an action word.

  385. It's an action. You got to do something

  386. with it. Do you know I know Jesus cast

  387. out demons. I know Jesus healed the

  388. sick. I know Jesus set people free. But

  389. you want to know something else? He also

  390. fed people. He also fed them a couple of

  391. times, at least 5,000 each time with

  392. fish and bread. He even showed them

  393. where to catch the fish. That's how

  394. concerned he is about provision. You

  395. know, he washed the disciples feet. He

  396. was the greatest servant. He showed us

  397. how to live, how to do things. So, what

  398. I want to say is this. What you guys do,

  399. everything you do in this

  400. church is

  401. missions. You see, when you're feeding

  402. the homeless, that's missions. I know

  403. for a

  404. fact that number one thing is that's

  405. feeding the first. But I know our heart

  406. is that one day we'll get a chance to

  407. share with them that Jesus hasn't given

  408. up on you. Hey, cuz they're drug addicts

  409. and stuff. Hey, come on. Come on. But

  410. you know, some of us were probably lucky

  411. not to be there at one time. But Jesus

  412. cares about them. But when you feed them

  413. and you show a genuine concern, you're

  414. not feeding them to get a notch in the

  415. belt. You're feeding them because

  416. they're hungry

  417. and you show that love of Jesus. Listen,

  418. that opens the door a bit for them to

  419. maybe asking you, why do you do this?

  420. Why do you care? And you can share your

  421. story. Wow, I was almost there and I was

  422. in the pit, but I called out to God and

  423. he helped me. And now God wants me to

  424. show his love by helping other people.

  425. Guys, that that is life. That is

  426. missions. Amen. You know, I remember we

  427. started Scotty and Michelle, you were

  428. part of this team, but we started like

  429. it's great to see street reach and I'll

  430. tell you I know for a fact God will give

  431. you things and he has given you and ser

  432. things add the stuff cuz that's what he

  433. does. He adds or he multiplies, right?

  434. But we didn't start off with having the

  435. flash kitchen where we could serve

  436. coffees and make kai. We started off on

  437. the

  438. streets. There's no strings attached

  439. there.

  440. There's a little we had a bag with food

  441. in it. We went into the what we thought

  442. was one of the most needy areas because

  443. Pastor Harvey's was already sewing in

  444. there through a charity shop and stuff

  445. and we went into that area. Yeah. And we

  446. put that on a bag. No str we hope this

  447. small deed brings light into your day.

  448. Simple way of saying God loves you and

  449. we put on it. If we can help in any

  450. other way, let us know. You know guys,

  451. people would phone you in the office.

  452. Could you come and pray in my house?

  453. What for? Because there was a big fight.

  454. There was a big scrap and I just don't

  455. feel good. Can you come and pray? I walk

  456. in the house, mate. There was blood

  457. stains. There was holes in the walls and

  458. stuff. But what happened was because you

  459. got off your backside and we filled the

  460. bag and we went, we knocked the door and

  461. we said, "Hey, we Jesus loves you." That

  462. opened the way for to show the love of

  463. Jesus. Does that make sense? So do not

  464. despise the day of small beginnings. But

  465. I knew last year when we had handed over

  466. to pastor Aaron and Sarah, I knew that

  467. what God had done was his stepping stone

  468. for what has got to come. It's exciting,

  469. guys. It's exciting. But we started

  470. small. Look what's happening now. You

  471. still with me? The great commission.

  472. We're all on some people, oh, I'm on a

  473. mission. You hear that saying? Where you

  474. going, bro? I'm on a mission. Mean,

  475. they've got a task or something to do.

  476. Hey, but we're all missionaries. The

  477. word missionary comes from the Latin

  478. word mito or meto which means send out.

  479. The Greek word is

  480. aposto which means send out. That's all

  481. it means. You see a lot of us Jesus was

  482. the greatest mystery right but lot

  483. office is only I used to think a mystery

  484. was somebody went into the jungle like

  485. Dr. Livingstone. Not a few people

  486. wouldn't know who that was, but I

  487. thought you had to go into a jungle

  488. where there was all these big snakes

  489. that could kill you and spiders and you

  490. had to go somewhere where they had a

  491. bone through their nose and they might

  492. put you in a pot and eat you. I mean, so

  493. so I I would never have been interested

  494. in missions. You want to go on a mission

  495. trip? No, thank you. Cuz I thought

  496. that's what it was. But what I want to

  497. say is guys, we're all

  498. missionaries. Everyone sitting in this

  499. building is a missionary. You know when

  500. Jesus himself the greatest missionary

  501. left heaven to come to earth, what did

  502. he do? Matthew 10, he sent out the 12.

  503. And then 6 months later in Luke 10, he

  504. sends out 72 also. But this is called

  505. the great commission. Why? Because he's

  506. sending us all. We're all sent from his

  507. death and resurrection. Each and every

  508. one of us sitting here today, you are

  509. sent. The people you work with, the

  510. people you live beside, the people you

  511. do sport with, the people whatever,

  512. they're the ones. They're in your radar.

  513. God wants you to be able to touch your

  514. lives with his love and his power in the

  515. name of Jesus. Amen.

  516. You no water here anymore.

  517. We're feeding homeless. We're not pro

  518. We're not giving the flicking pastor a

  519. drink.

  520. I'm going to get that one right

  521. away. Boy, I'm melting up here, Ashley.

  522. But it's good to be back. It's good to

  523. be Thank you for inviting us. Thank you.

  524. John

    John 17:18

  525. 17:18, the words of Jesus. You got a

  526. Bible, go to it. You got an app, go to

  527. it. I know. Yeah. Come on. John

  528. 17. This is Jesus prayer about unity and

  529. stuff, right? But this is the words of

  530. Jesus himself. John 17 verse

    John 17:18

  531. 18 as you have sent me into the world so

  532. I have sent them into the world talking

  533. about the disciples but we're his

  534. disciples now my prayer is not for them

  535. alone I pray also for those who will

  536. believe in me through what talk to me

  537. through what whose

  538. message their

  539. message you guys are shy

  540. either that or you can't

  541. read. I was but he's saying I have also

  542. prayed for those who father I've also

  543. prayed for those who will believe

  544. through believe in me through their

  545. message. You see we've all got a

  546. message. Your message is different than

  547. mine. It still points to Jesus. Do you

  548. with me? But we've all got a message.

  549. We've all got a message. And as Jay John

  550. said, let's make Jesus Christ known to

  551. all people. That's our job. We want to

  552. see people know Jesus. Man, when you

  553. know Jesus, your life turns around.

  554. Yeah. You'll be like a little bit of us

  555. when we were on that bicycle ride going

  556. up them hills. We were praying in

  557. tongues and everything cuz to do the

  558. mission was hard at times. And sometimes

  559. doing life is hard. But I'm going to

  560. tell you something. When you got Jesus

  561. with you, he gets you through what needs

  562. to get through. He gets you up and over

  563. what need to get up and over, etc. Amen.

  564. But he had sent

  565. you. Another quote is coming on the

  566. screen. Jay John, a missionary is not

  567. someone who crosses the sea. I love

  568. this. But someone who sees the cross.

  569. Guys, we've got family. We've get

  570. friends who don't know Jesus. We know

  571. what the cross represents. And you know

  572. what? If we really love people, we'll

  573. look at ways and just loving on them.

  574. And that's what I'll encourage you. Love

  575. on them. love on them. Help them. Look,

  576. Alpha Course is coming up. I have heard

  577. so many great things about Alpha Course.

  578. And I know that Paul and and and Brody

  579. will do a great job and leading that.

  580. And I know that Stefan's doing a bit of

  581. cooking and stuff. I mean, it's going to

  582. be awesome. But here's the thing,

  583. something so simple. Why don't you pray

  584. about who do you

  585. invite? And don't get caught in this

  586. thing. But but like I've been a

  587. Christian for 25 years and I know all

  588. this stuff. I tell you, there's a lot of

  589. stuff we don't know. a lot of and you

  590. know there'll be a lot of stuff you'll

  591. come think man I forgot all about that I

  592. feel so good but why not pray about who

  593. do you invite and then go and pick them

  594. up and bring them along to the alpha

  595. course seriously that's missions guys

  596. something as simple as hey have you ever

  597. been interested in know is God

  598. real to think is God real did you ever

  599. think that I used to think what happens

  600. after I die did you ever think that you

  601. know we questions like that and smokeo

  602. something so oh I've always thought

  603. about, but is God real? Hey, come along

  604. with us to church. We're running this

  605. little program, what do you want to call

  606. it? Uh to find these things out where

  607. there's questions, they'll be answered.

  608. You know, pick them up. Love on them.

  609. Hey, you with me. Okay, that's that's

  610. cool. That's cool. Let me tell you

  611. something. I want I want to say this.

  612. Hold on. So J. John says what? He says

  613. something about it's not going overseas,

  614. but it's seeing the cross.

  615. Yeah, doing missions is not going

  616. overseas, but it's seeing the cross. So,

  617. I'm at a tongue in Gizbborne. I'm at a

  618. funeral in Gizzy and I'm stand I'm

  619. telling you now, somebody I knew very

  620. very well and massive funeral at the

  621. grave side. I'm going to be honest with

  622. you, I knew the person was in heaven

  623. with Jesus. So, celebrating. But I'm

  624. thinking at the time about boy, we're

  625. going to have some feed after

  626. this cuz you know down the east coast

  627. they know how to feed you. Tell you

  628. about that's why I'm like this. I used

  629. to be skinny like iron when I came

  630. here. But we did tell you. So I'm

  631. standing at the side of the grave. I'm

  632. thinking about now we're going to go

  633. back to the Marai because that that's a

  634. protocol. Go back to the Mariah and the

  635. there's crayfish and everything you want

  636. there. I'll tell you now, not being

  637. super spiritual, the Holy Spirit spoke

  638. to me and said, "Drev, I don't want you

  639. going for a feed. I want you to go and

  640. see this

  641. lady." I

  642. thinking, "I want you to go and see this

  643. lady." So, I went to the husband of the

  644. person who passed away and I said, "Bro,

  645. I just want to put me apologies in. I

  646. might make it, but I might be a bit

  647. late, but I might not." He said, "That's

  648. okay." So I go, this was 10 10 K outside

  649. of Gizbborne. I knew this woman lives

  650. somewhere. I go and knock the door. And

  651. I'm going to tell you now, I was

  652. nervous. I was nervous inside, but I

  653. knew all God said me was you go to see

  654. this woman and what I want you to tell

  655. her. I haven't give up on her and I love

  656. her. So I knock the door and she comes

  657. the door. And I I knew the

  658. person, Pastor Trev, I said, "Sweetie,

  659. listen. Can can I come in? Have we

  660. chat?" Yes, please. So, I again I sit

  661. down with her at the table, takes a cup

  662. of tea and I say to her, listen, I just

  663. got to be honest with you. The main

  664. reason I'm here is I thought I was

  665. coming just for a tongue from Taranga to

  666. here, but I got it wrong. I said, I'm

  667. also here to let you know that God loves

  668. you. God has not give up on you and God

  669. is hungering for a relationship with you

  670. again. And you know what? She sat and

  671. she cried. had a tears come down her

  672. face. So then I wasn't as anxious, you

  673. know, that's a good sign. I think, oh

  674. She said, you know, Trev, I'd

  675. backsliden so bad. I was back into all

  676. the weed and stuff. She said, but let me

  677. tell you something. When I used to get

  678. in the taxi with the girls after being

  679. in the nightclub, stoned and all. I used

  680. to say, "God, please don't let me get

  681. killed in this car." She was still

  682. crying out from my heart some way that

  683. God's mercy would be on her. And I said,

  684. "You know what? God's mercy is on you,

  685. but you can't play with mercy and grace.

  686. Here's the time to accept it. And you

  687. know what? That day, she invited Jesus

  688. back into her life.

  689. Amen. But that I'm just trying to get

  690. that across, guys. That's missions.

  691. That's missions. I thought my mission

  692. was just go to the tongue. But the Holy

  693. Spirit is something else as well. And he

  694. wants to do things with that with you as

  695. well with those sort of things. The

  696. people you're around, Pastor Aaron and S

  697. aren't around. I'm not around. you are.

  698. He wants you to be that witness within

  699. that. Does that make sense? God has

  700. impart us. Acts 18. But you will receive

  701. power when the Holy Spirit comes on you

  702. and you will be my witnesses telling

  703. people about me everywhere. You know

  704. when I say that girl, God loves you and

  705. he wants you to know he hasn't given up.

  706. That's telling her about

  707. God. I didn't have to give her three

  708. scriptures or anything else. I just told

  709. her the truth. heck. Get her.

  710. You know, God loves you. Come on. Good.

  711. E. But look, be witnesses telling

  712. everywhere. Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria,

  713. and the ends of the earth. God is

  714. wanting to impact lives with his love

  715. and power through followers of Jesus

  716. Christ. If you're not there, who's going

  717. to do it? You know, the word says unless

  718. you tell them, they won't know. How they

  719. going to know unless somebody goes and

  720. shares the good news? As it doesn't

  721. mean, it doesn't mean rambling

  722. scripture. It's good news off, hey,

  723. Jesus loves you. Jesus cares. Can I tell

  724. you who Jesus is? Can I tell you who

  725. this Messiah is? Woo. You know, 23 years

  726. ago, roughly 22, maybe 23, something

  727. going to come up here. We were here.

  728. We're just about to go on our first we

  729. we'd be planned our first mission trip

  730. as a church. And what happened was one

  731. day I'm in the office and I get a phone

  732. call. Uh I'm telling it, it might have

  733. been evening. Oh, Pastor Trev, can you

  734. come to the hospital? Why? What's wrong?

  735. She said, "Little Hope's been hit in the

  736. car and uh they think she's not going to

  737. make it. He thinks she's going to die."

  738. This is local. In fact, um Hope's dad's

  739. here this morning. He was here last week

  740. and I asked him if I could share this

  741. stuff. So, I didn't just show it up

  742. randomly. And he said, "Yeah, the family

  743. will give the blessing to do that." But

  744. this little girl, so I go to, she was

  745. nice see you up in the hospital and I

  746. walk in and the first thing the doctor

  747. said to me was, "She's probably not

  748. going to make it." I said, "What do you

  749. mean?" He says, "Now, she's probably

  750. they've got a helicopter coming, but the

  751. chances are that she'll pass away before

  752. the helicopter gets here." And I

  753. remember looking at after that I walked

  754. I was with them and I walked out and

  755. Walker and his wife and some of the

  756. family were there and I remember you

  757. know encouraging them comforting them

  758. putting arms around. We were all crying

  759. at times and we were all weeping and the

  760. young hopes laying on the bed. I said

  761. we're going to we're going to pray. So

  762. we all gather around the bed and and one

  763. of the uncles looked at me and he said

  764. Trey, do you really believe God can

  765. heal? I said

  766. absolutely. He said we're going to pray

  767. then. I said yes. So the prayer was

  768. simple. Lord we pray in Jesus name that

  769. this accident will not lead on to death.

  770. We pray that whatever needs done it'll

  771. be done for hope to get her healing.

  772. That the teleop get here she'll get up

  773. whatever it was right and that her

  774. family would get there well as well. So

  775. we prayed that I went up instead we walk

  776. in the family for two or three days

  777. before they moved him into um McDonald

  778. house whatever it was but she's in

  779. starship and she's in a coma every day

  780. we would go we pray for her we come away

  781. with encourage we'd be thanking God be

  782. worshiping God and stuff and then the

  783. day came for me to go on the mission

  784. trip so I said to walking stuff look we

  785. we got to go but you know I'll keep in

  786. touch will ring every every other day so

  787. it was ringing from Fiji and he said

  788. pastor Trevy not said before we went

  789. that the chances are now guys if she

  790. comes out of a coma she'll be a

  791. vegetable that's what he said she'll

  792. probably be a vegetable now we never

  793. believed that and we weren't fighting

  794. the doctor's thing it was hot god you're

  795. you're bigger than I said we don't feel

  796. that that's what it is so well in Fiji

  797. one of the days I phon here's the good

  798. news she's out of the coma she's come

  799. out of the coma and there's no brain

  800. damage none

  801. whatsoever and you know yeah and give

  802. glory to God. That was that's some of

  803. the photos that was with and her school

  804. were praying for her and stuff as well.

  805. It's pretty awesome. Within about six

  806. weeks of all that happen, she come back

  807. into church. She was in a wheelchair,

  808. you know, and they shared about the the

  809. goodness of God. Isn't God good? But see

  810. guys, that's on the mission field.

  811. That's on the mission field as well. We

  812. got to remember one thing. It's not just

  813. a matter of giving somebody food and

  814. encouragement. God does heal. God does

  815. set free. You with me? That was a big

  816. part of the missions. So, finishing off,

  817. guys. All right. You still

  818. there? Okay. Thank you. Jesus is a

  819. friend of the sinner. The next one, big

  820. mile on holiday. I just I just want to

  821. get into you about wherever you are,

  822. that's where God is. Cuz do you carry

  823. it? Do you carry his presence? Yeah.

  824. Yeah. So, I'm on holiday or in Bali,

  825. right? We're in Bali on holiday. this

  826. big Australian guy, big long blonde

  827. hair, lots of I don't know if it was

  828. gold, it might have been brass. It

  829. looked like gold eye, but like he wasn't

  830. a bad guy, but he was loud. I mean, I'm

  831. loud, he was loud, right? You'd hear him

  832. at the pool and stuff three, four days

  833. ago. You know, it said I said hi to him

  834. a few times and stuff. And what happened

  835. one day, he wasn't there one day and and

  836. it was just his girlfriend. I said,

  837. "Where's the big fella?" And his

  838. nickname was

  839. Hollywood. Where's Hollywood? She said,

  840. "Oh, Hollywood's very sick." I said,

  841. "What do you mean he's sick? He's in

  842. holiday. Not allowed to be sick on

  843. holiday." She said, "No, he's very, very

  844. sick." I said, "Listen, could you go and

  845. ask Holiday if I could come and pray for

  846. him?" Hollywood. What' I say? Hollywood.

  847. Holiday. So, I'm too I need a holiday.

  848. Hollywood, if I could come and pray for

  849. him. So, she went to Eng Hollywood said,

  850. "Yes, you can come and pray." So I went

  851. and I said, "Bro, I'm just going to say

  852. a simple prayer for you. You know, um I

  853. believe, you know, Jesus who set me

  854. free, he can heal you." So I prayed for

  855. him.

  856. Seriously, it seemed that nothing had

  857. happened. We we left the room and stuff

  858. and then we're in the swimming pool

  859. about 2 hours later. Out he comes rip,

  860. roar, loud as can be, boy. Seriously,

  861. boy. At the side of the pool. Yes. Yes.

  862. I'm healed and I'm going to enjoy my

  863. holiday. And you know what that

  864. photograph is? He took me for a feed

  865. that night and Debbie and the

  866. girlfriend. I just cut them out for the

  867. sake of it. But that was that was crave

  868. fish and stuff and he told me, "You can

  869. have whatever you want to eat." Guys,

  870. that guy was so happy of being healed

  871. and set free. I said, "Bro, I I can't do

  872. nothing." That's Jesus. Jesus has

  873. touched you. So, I was able to share

  874. with him about the goodness of God.

  875. Amen. It's good to talk to me to God

  876. about It's good to talk to men about

  877. God, but it's better to talk to God

  878. about men. Pray. Pray before you saying,

  879. "Lord, give me something to share. Help

  880. me to love this person." Does that make

  881. sense? And and and finishing off. Share

  882. the good news. You know, I'm at the

  883. barbers last week getting the getting

  884. the

  885. haircut. She's getting a bit down her

  886. own actually, but who cares? Like when I

  887. look at you and how good-look you are, I

  888. think I could do that as well.

  889. Seriously, I thought if Aaron can look

  890. as good as that, I'm sure I've got that

  891. anointing as well. But I'm but I'm in

  892. the hairdresser or the barbers. The

  893. boy's cutting my hair. He's asking me

  894. questions. So, I've been there three

  895. times. Trev, what's the latest? What are

  896. you up to now? I said, bro, I'm getting

  897. ready to go to

  898. Cambodia. What? What are you going to

  899. Cambodia for? I just shared with him. He

  900. says, bro, that's awesome.

  901. That's awesome. I've never known anybody

  902. to do that sort of stuff. I said, "Bro,

  903. I might be home sooner than what you

  904. think, but I'm going to give it a

  905. go." But he but but but he he was

  906. wanting no question. Why are you going

  907. there? What are you going there for? I

  908. said, "Bro, we're going there because

  909. there's these girls and they get

  910. trafficked. They get pushed into

  911. prostitution and stuff and we're just

  912. going to go and help some people who

  913. help them get set free." And and how do

  914. they do that? I said, "Bro, I don't know

  915. fully, but I know that they actually get

  916. them well, what do you call it? Re

  917. rehabilitate it and they get them into

  918. jobs and stuff over a couple years

  919. because they do." He said to me, "Bro,

  920. that's flipping brilliant. That's

  921. absolutely brilliant." But see, that's

  922. sharing the good news, isn't it? I

  923. didn't notice at the time, but my oldest

  924. boy the same day goes to another barber

  925. and he starts sharing some of his

  926. testimony about how he was trapped in

  927. drugs and all that sort of stuff. And

  928. Jesus turned up and now he's getting his

  929. life sorted. That is that is sharing the

  930. good news. That's on the That's been

  931. missionaries.

  932. We're not preaching to people. We don't

  933. need to give them 20 scriptures. Hey,

  934. God is good. Jesus is good. Here's where

  935. we're at. Here's what's happening.

  936. Here's what's going on. Is that all

  937. right? Okay. Finished. I'm

  938. finishing. There's a line in the song we

  939. do here. And it talks in the song. A

  940. line we sing is about

  941. revival. We're moving out beyond these

  942. walls to see the people know the

  943. Lord. Is it just a

  944. song? Are you just singing it as a song

  945. or do you want to make it a declaration

  946. that we really are moving out beyond

  947. these walls? Because guys, here's the

  948. bottom line. Once you go through those

  949. doors at the front, you're on the

  950. mission field.

  951. That's said majority of us will never

  952. get a chance to go overseas. And let me

  953. tell you, I've been overseas like

  954. probably 25 times, maybe more, right?

  955. But I'm not any better than the person

  956. who's never been over. That is a mission

  957. field.

  958. But can we finish with this song like

  959. declare making it a declaration in our

  960. hearts and then guys praying each day

  961. for an opportunity to reach out and

  962. impact somebody with the love and the

  963. power of Jesus Christ. Can we do that?

  964. Hey, so we're going to finish with that.

  965. And just before we do, is there anyone

  966. here

  967. today? You've never gave your heart to

  968. Jesus and you're maybe wondering why am

  969. I there today? What am I doing with this

  970. building? You're here because God cares

  971. about you. You're here because he

  972. probably he has drawn you here by a

  973. spirit because you can't get saved

  974. unless he draws you. You're thinking,

  975. why? Maybe that's you today and you want

  976. to give your heart to Jesus. If that's

  977. you, can everybody bow their head a

  978. minute first? If that's you, can you

  979. just put your hand up? Anyone here? God

  980. bless you. God bless you. Anyone else?

  981. Do I see them three hands? Yep. I see

  982. it. Say it anymore. Come on, guys. This

  983. is great. This is what it's all about.

  984. Know Jesus. To know Jesus, man. Wow. 1 2

  985. 3 4 5. Thank you, Jesus. Five. Six.

  986. Guys, after the service, there'll be

  987. people up the front who will pray for

  988. you. Is that right? Okay. Here's the

  989. second altar call. And I want you to

  990. come up the front too after this. Right

  991. now, these people are just going to pray

  992. for you to ask Jesus into your life.

  993. It's safe. It's good. There's some

  994. people here today and you've been

  995. backsliding. I love what Pastor Aaron

  996. said last week. No, things haven't just

  997. went wrong for the week. Things have

  998. been going wrong for a very long time

  999. and you've been far away from God. But

1000. God wants you to know he hasn't give up

1001. on you. God wants you to know he's not

1002. condemning you. He's not judging you,

1003. but he wants you to recommmit your life

1004. back to him. He loves you. He cares. And

1005. it's the same as it was with that woman

1006. in Gizzy. He wants that type

1007. relationship again. He misses fellowship

1008. with you. If that's you today and you're

1009. going to be honest about it and you want

1010. to get your life right with God, can you

1011. stick your hand up? I see one, two,

  1012. three, wow, four, five,

1013. wow, six. I'm not even going to talk

  1014. about the counting. Sometimes that's a

1015. pride thing while there's more than one

1016. person. Hey Lord, thank you for these

1017. people today. You see their hearts,

1018. Lord, as they come up the front today.

1019. They either connect with you for the

1020. first time or reconnect. I pray you

1021. touch them by your Holy Spirit. Lord,

1022. turn their lives upside down. I pray in

1023. Jesus mighty name. And Lord, as a

1024. church, this song that we're going to

  1025. sing that it's not just words. It's a

1026. declaration that we would be a people

1027. who would move beyond these walls to our

1028. family, our friends, our neighbors, our

1029. work colleagues, whatever it might be in

1030. Jesus name. And everybody who loved the

1031. Lord said, "Amen." And let's give the

  1032. Lord a clap.
