  1. coming. I'm looking forward to summer

  2. finally coming.

  3. It's

  4. Hey, welcome church. Welcome to those

  5. that are online. It is good to have you

  6. here this morning. Hi, if we have not

  7. met, uh my name is Paul and I'm uh part

  8. of the team here. It is my privilege to

  9. uh preach and I am I it is very true. I

  10. am looking forward to summer. I am

  11. looking forward to it finally coming one

  12. day. So, it is fantastic, aren't we?

  13. Yes, it is ridiculous what we have here.

  14. Um, I'm looking for my beautiful

  15. daughter, Jamaima. Where is she? She

  16. possibly is here. I uh she is meant to

  17. be uh here.

  18. She also has a little baby, so it's okay

  19. if she hasn't made it here yet. She was

  20. feeding Bubba this morning, so she was

  21. going to do something for me, but it's

  22. okay if she's not here. So, I will just

  23. pause a little bit and welcome you guys.

  24. Anyway, give her a couple minutes in

  25. case she's in the mother's room. Hi. Um,

  26. uh, welcome back. It's your first time

  27. here, guys. Welcome back. It is good to

  28. have you here. Who had a good break?

  29. Yeah. Yeah. Who had to work through? Who

  30. had to work through? Thank you for your

  31. service. Thank you for your service. I

  32. went to all those cafes and I was like,

  33. this is so good that someone's working

  34. while I'm on holiday. Uh, it it is good

  35. to have you. And it's um, hey again.

  36. Sorry. Welcome to those that are online.

  37. It is good to have you here. Um, I just

  38. uh is Did you mind make it? It's okay if

  39. she doesn't. I'm going to read it, so

  40. it's okay. Uh she was uh texting me

  41. earlier and I don't have my phone on me

  42. so it's okay. Uh she was going to uh

  43. read this uh Bible verse. So you guys

  44. just going to get stuck with me. I'm

  45. sorry about this. She had practiced it

  46. and she's probably did it a lot better

  47. than what I could. So let's get into

  48. this anyway. So uh you got your Bibles

  49. turn to Exodus chapter 33. Exodus

Exodus 33 chapter mention Exodus 33 chapter mention

  50. chapter 33. Who's doing here the Bible

  51. in a year? Anyone doing the Bible in a

  52. year? I am helping you today where for

  53. all those ones that you've missed,

  54. you're catching up today. All right

  55. guys, you're catching up. So uh here it

  56. is. Exodus chapter 33. We're going to go

    Exodus 33 chapter mention

  57. from verses 1-6.

  58. Verses 1-6. So, uh, here it is. Exodus

    Exodus 33 chapter mention

  59. chapter 33. If you don't know, Exodus is

  60. the second book in the Bible. Uh, just

  61. straight after Genesis, which is the

  62. first book. So, go turn to the front of

  63. your Bible. Uh, I don't hear any pages

  64. turning. So, everyone just go to their

  65. phones. This is good. This is okay. So,

  66. uh, here we go.

  67. Just imagine this is the beautiful voice

  68. of my daughter, Jamaima.

  69. So this is a lot of imagination to get

  70. from my basic. Anyway,

  71. Exodus 33:1-16, it says this, "The Lord

    Exodus 33:1–16

  72. said to Moses, get going, you and the

  73. people you brought, I love this. You

  74. brought up from the land of Egypt. Go up

  75. to the land I swore to give to Abraham,

  76. Isaac, and Jacob. I told them, I will

  77. give this land to your descendants, and

  78. I will send an angel before you to drive

  79. out the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites,

  80. Brazites.

  81. Oh my gosh, Hivites and Jebusites.

  82. There's a lot of Itites. Um, go up,

  83. verse three, go up to this land that

  84. flows with milk and honey, but I will

  85. not travel among you. Go up to this land

  86. that flows with milk and honey, but I

  87. will not travel with you, for you are a

  88. stubborn and rebellious people. I if I

  89. did, I would surely destroy you along

  90. the way. It's like some of those car

  91. rides we had over the holidays, right?

  92. When the the people heard these stern

  93. words, they went into mourning and

  94. stopped wearing their jewelry and their

  95. fine clothes. Verse 5, it says, "For the

  96. Lord ha had told Moses to tell them, you

  97. are a stubborn and rebellious people. If

  98. I were to travel with you for even a

  99. moment, I would destroy you. Remove your

  100. jewelry and fine clothes while I decide

  101. what I'm going to do with you." So from

  102. the time they left Mount Si, the

  103. Israelites wore no more jewelry or fine

  104. clothes. Verse 7, it was Moses' practice

  105. to take the tent of meeting and set it

  106. up some distance from the camp. Everyone

  107. who wanted to make a request of the Lord

  108. would go to the tent of meeting outside

  109. the camp. Whenever Moses went out to the

  110. tent of meeting, all the people would

  111. get up and stand in the entrances of

  112. their own tents. They would all watch

  113. Moses until he disappeared inside. As he

  114. went into the tent, the pillar of cloud

  115. would come down and hover at the

  116. entrance while the Lord spoke to Moses.

  117. When the people saw that mo the cloud

  118. standing at the entrance to the of the

  119. tent, they was they would stand and bow

  120. down in front of their tents inside the

  121. tent of the meeting. The Lord would

  122. speak to Moses face to face as one

  123. speaks to a friend. Afterward, Moses

  124. would return to the camp, but the the

  125. young man who assisted him, Joshua, son

  126. of Nun, would remain behind in the tent

  127. of meeting. Verse 12.

  128. You guys are doing super well. I can

  129. hear you reading. I mean, it's so good.

  130. Um, one day Moses said to the Lord, "You

  131. have been telling me, take these people

  132. up to the promised land, but you haven't

  133. told me with whom you'd send with me.

  134. You have told me, I know you by name,

  135. and I look favorably on you. If it is

  136. true that you look favorably on me, let

  137. me know your ways so I may understand

  138. you more fully and continue to enjoy

  139. your favor. And remember that this

  140. nation is your very own people."

  141. The Lord replied in verse 14, "I will

  142. personally go with you, Moses, and I

  143. will give you rest. Everything will be

  144. fine for you." Then Moses said, "If you

  145. do not personally go with us, don't make

  146. us leave this place. How will anyone

  147. know that you look favorably on me and

  148. on your people if you do not go with us?

  149. Your presence amongst us sets your

  150. people apart from all the other people

  151. on the earth.

  152. Pretty cool, right?

  153. We are picking up this story if you

  154. don't know in in Exodus and for a quick

  155. overview for Exodus is uh Exodus is a

  156. story of the the descendants of Abraham

  157. uh found find themselves in slavery

  158. under Pharaoh in in Egypt and they have

  159. been there for 400 years in slavery and

  160. they find Exodus is a story of how these

  161. enslaved Hebrews leave Egypt through

  162. Moses and Aaron and some pretty cool

  163. signs and some plagues and the parting

  164. of the Red Sea and they have them coming

  165. in to coming into this mount si and

  166. encountering God's presence and the

  167. giving of the ten commandments and in a

  168. in a way that these people can now get

  169. closer to God. It's a narrative of

  170. redemption. It's a narrative of God

  171. giving a perfect law so that the people

  172. can approach God again. It's a narrative

  173. of the formation of Israel as a nation

  174. dedicated to God. Exodus shows the

  175. journey from slavery or distance from

  176. God to an encounter with the power and

  177. the presence of God and onto the

  178. entering into the promised land. So,

  179. here we come right here. They've sort of

  180. come out of slavery. They've come

  181. through the Mount Si and they're about

  182. to go into the promised land. And what a

  183. it's a season of transition for them

  184. right in this moment. They've they've

  185. just left Egypt. They've left literally

  186. left the country. They find themselves

  187. on the verge of going into the promised

  188. land. So, they're going through a season

  189. of transition in their life. They're

  190. literally about to go into another land.

  191. Like that's that's pretty crazy. They're

  192. about to have they they don't know this

  193. just yet. A leadership change cuz Moses

  194. isn't going to go. They're going to get

  195. a young warrior and Joshua. They're

  196. going to get new whole new leadership

  197. change. They're about to leave God

  198. providing for them in the desert with

  199. mana and quail. They're about to leave

  200. this. They just have to walk outside

  201. their tent and foods right there into a

  202. land where they have to sew and start

  203. looking after the livestock and all that

  204. sort of stuff. And they have to leave

  205. this that the transition from God with

  206. them like in fire at night and cloud in

  207. the day and then to whole new way of

  208. communicating to God in the season of

  209. transition. They're about to lo move

  210. from being slaves into land owners.

  211. And it's such a good time to talk about

  212. seasons of transition at the start of

  213. the year, right?

  214. Like some of us have left last year and

  215. we're coming into a new year and like

  216. some of us have have just got married uh

  217. this year. Uh some of us are engaged. I

  218. don't know if Josiah and Lily are here.

  219. They're about to become husband and wife

  220. later on this year and some of us are uh

  221. you know I don't know what trans maybe

  222. some of you have finished high school

  223. last year and you're looking at study

  224. this year. you're looking at leaving

  225. home for the first time in your life and

  226. the season of transition. It's so

  227. important in seasons of transition that

  228. you make the right decisions.

  229. >> Maybe some of you here for a new city

  230. and new country or you're trying a new

  231. church this morning. These seasons of

  232. transition are so important that we make

  233. the right decisions.

  234. Uh maybe you're here and you were

  235. leaving your old self behind of last

  236. year. Yeah, you are. You've come and

  237. you've started this year and you're

  238. like, "No, I am leaving my old self

  239. behind. I'm starting a new." It's so

  240. important that we in times of

  241. transition, we get the decisions right.

  242. Things are unsettling in times of

  243. decisions. In times of transition,

  244. aren't they? And God, we find in the

  245. story, God comes to this new young

  246. nation. It's not a nation yet. It's just

  247. a bunch of Hebrews in the desert. And he

  248. comes to them in this time of

  249. transition, and he tests them.

  250. He goes uh to a they're about to go into

  251. a new land, a new way of God providing.

  252. No more mana falling from heaven. All

  253. that sort of stuff. No longer

  254. complaining to get out of slavery, but a

  255. new way to approach him. He comes and he

  256. tests them. As you grow, right? You you

  257. communicate to your kids differently as

  258. they grow, right? I when I little Lyra,

  259. when I communicate to her, it's it's in

  260. that cute like everyone does it. Come

  261. on. I have seen everyone like every baby

  262. around here. There's this cute little

  263. baby voice. your voice goes slightly

  264. higher, you become silly, you become

  265. stupid, you forget that you're in a

  266. business environment, you're just like,

  267. "Oh, how about you?" You know, you get

  268. down on their level. But who knows? That

  269. would be just really weird if I was to

  270. talk like that to my 21-year-old son,

  271. right? It would just that would just be

  272. a bit weird, right? When you grow older,

  273. when you go through different

  274. transitions in your life, God speaks to

  275. us in different ways.

  276. And he comes to this young nation about

  277. to go into the promised land and he

  278. gives them an ultimate test because he's

  279. changing the way he's going to

  280. communicate to them.

  281. I remember do you guys parents, I don't

  282. know if you know this, but did your kids

  283. ever do the would you rather game when

  284. you're growing up? They would come home

  285. from school and they have this question,

  286. right? Would you rather? Now, we got to

  287. do a bit of participation here this

  288. morning because it is a good time to do

  289. it. But we need you guys to be in like

  290. pairs or just don't do it by yourself.

  291. Okay. So, here's some questions. What is

  292. it? So, you got to it's like a would you

  293. rather. You got to make a choice of one

  294. or the other. Okay. So, here's the first

  295. question. Would you rather have a

  296. lifetime supply of your favorite food or

  297. a lifetime supply of your favorite

  298. beverage? Come on. Quickly. Quickly. You

  299. got 10 seconds. You got 10 seconds. Come

  300. on. No one sitting by themselves. Come

  301. on. You can't do this by yourself.

  302. It's it's it's interesting. All right.

  303. All right. All right. All right. Okay.

  304. Okay. Come on. Come on. It's a quick

  305. decision here, guys. Come. You don't

  306. over don't over process it. Okay. Second

  307. one. Would you rather have the power to

  308. never feel physical pain or never feel

  309. emotional pain? Ooh.

  310. Oo.

  311. Okay. Okay. Scotty's still thinking

  312. about it down here. He doesn't know that

  313. the answer. All right. Come on. Next

  314. one. Here we go. Would you rather have

  315. the power to bring good luck to others

  316. or always have good luck yourself?

  317. >> Come on. Let's be honest. This is

  318. getting a little bit more serious here.

  319. Okay, last one. Last one. Would you

  320. rather have the power of telekinesis,

  321. moving objects, or telepathy, which is

  322. reading minds? Yeah.

  323. How's the music doing? You guys are good

  324. online. You guys are good.

  325. Okay.

  326. God comes to the Hebrews

  327. and he asks them this question.

  328. Would you rather have all that I've

  329. promised you or have my presence in your

  330. life?

  331. >> He comes

  332. to this burgeoning emergency nation as

  333. they're about to go in. And he goes,

  334. "Would you rather have everything I've

  335. promised you or have my presence?"

  336. Can I say it another way? Would you

  337. rather have everything you've prayed for

  338. or have my presence?

  339. It's like

  340. it's a tough

  341. What is more important to you, church?

  342. What is more important to you?

  343. Moses said, "If you don't personally go

  344. with us, don't you dare send us away

  345. from here."

  346. What a test.

  347. Don't everything they have ever wanted

  348. for 400 years, land,

  349. rest, victory over enemies. They were

  350. going to have steak for the first time,

  351. maybe a glass of red wine, I don't know.

  352. And God even commands them to go. He

  353. opens the door.

  354. You can have everything you've ever

  355. wanted in your life, but I am not going

  356. with you. And Moses refuses to move.

  357. They were finally looking at the

  358. fulfillment of God's promise

  359. 400, 500 years earlier.

  360. Can I just say let's not just Larry read

  361. this is fictional people in a book.

  362. Let's not spiritualize this is some sort

  363. of metaphor. These are people that have

  364. only been through hardship and they can

  365. see what's right in front of them and

  366. they yet they still chose the presence

  367. of God over their needs.

  368. Put your own needs in this story.

  369. Imagine if God comes to you this

  370. morning. You can have your health back

  371. but you won't have my presence.

  372. You can have that relationship back, but

  373. you won't have my presence. Insert

  374. whatever you're going through right now,

  375. and it becomes that little bit harder to

  376. answer, isn't it?

  377. Moses was promised success, respect, and

  378. provision, but without the promise,

  379. without the presence of God.

  380. Moses and the people of Israel chose the

  381. presence of God over the provision of

  382. God. They chose the presence of God over

  383. a promotion in life. They chose the

  384. presence of God over a promise

  385. fulfilled.

  386. >> Wow.

  387. >> It wasn't a plan they put their trust

  388. in. It was in the presence of God.

  389. Moses was saying this. I don't want to

  390. be where I want to be.

  391. I want to be where you are.

  392. >> Doesn't matter what where we go this

  393. year, what we have, what we do, what we

  394. achieve. None of that ultimately matters

  395. if we don't have the God's presence in

  396. our life.

  397. Moses was saying, "It is better that we

  398. live in a desert, in need, with horrible

  399. circumstances, with no answers to the

  400. promises you've given us, but still have

  401. in your presence, God."

  402. His his belief was so adamant, he goes,

  403. "I'd gladly die knowing that we you are

  404. close then live somewhere else that you

  405. have not."

  406. >> Church, what is more important to you

  407. this morning? It's easy to say Jesus,

  408. isn't it? That's what my life group says

  409. when I ask them a question. Jesus, it's

  410. like this learn answer, Jesus. Yeah,

  411. it's the answer to everything. But it

  412. this isn't actually answered easily or

  413. quickly, is it?

  414. But ultimately, if God has truly changed

  415. your life, the e the answer is easy. But

  416. sometimes

  417. we forget our first love, right? And I

  418. was just this is birthed out of me just

  419. thinking and praying for this year. And

  420. I was thinking through a whole lot of

  421. things. And God goes, "Imagine what I

  422. can do in your life." And Moses goes on,

  423. I'm just going to carry on here because

  424. this is good. Moses goes in verse 16, he

  425. goes, "How will anyone that you look

  426. favorably on me?" Sorry, the second

  427. part, he goes, "For your presence

  428. amongst us sets your people and me apart

  429. from the other people of the earth." He

  430. found his identity in God, not in what

  431. he did.

  432. >> Get this. He didn't want to be known as

  433. just a great leader as a conqueror to be

  434. known as successful but he defined but

  435. to be defined by God's presence in his

  436. life.

  437. He wanted God's presence to be the

  438. distinguishing difference from them. I

  439. don't know you it you whoever them is is

  440. is different to everyone.

  441. I'm not looking we're not looking down

  442. at the them. It's just a reminder that

  443. we should be defined as Christ followers

  444. by his presence,

  445. >> not by what we say, not by what we

  446. protest or what we political parties or

  447. what we do on our weekends or our

  448. activities. We need to be defined by the

  449. presence of God in our lives.

  450. Moses wasn't happy with just the

  451. results, the land to live, enemies

  452. defeated. He knew that to be if they

  453. achieved all of that without God's

  454. presence, they would just be the same as

  455. every other nation.

  456. He knew that they were meant to be a

  457. light to the nations around them.

  458. We aren't just meant to go through the

  459. same things and not affect those around

  460. us. Jesus comes and he goes, "No one

  461. lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar

  462. or puts it under a bed and said they put

  463. it on a stand so that those who come in

  464. can see the light." Moses chose God's

  465. presence as that light

  466. over getting personal blessings for

  467. himself. He chose the presence of God.

  468. Moses says, "Show me your ways, God, so

  469. that I may know you." Can I How do we

  470. grow in awareness of God's presence in

  471. our lives? As I come to a close here, I

  472. I got to be honest here. This is This is

  473. a I fight I have to fight for my quiet

  474. times.

  475. I have to fight for reading the Bible.

  476. It is a fight for me. I have to fight to

  477. spend some time in prayer. I was uh as I

  478. was preparing this this week, I I mostly

  479. prepare laying on the ground. It's

  480. weird, I know, but it's all right.

  481. My problem was little Lyra is learning

  482. to crawl as she walks in through the

  483. door. Little Lyra is a distraction. She

  484. crawls all over. She grabs my notes and

  485. I have to fight. You know,

  486. getting close to God is a fight

  487. sometimes.

  488. It is not as easy as googling an answer

  489. to a test. It is a walk in the cool of

  490. the evening.

  491. It's a slow conversation mezzanine. It's

  492. a deep well that you have to learn to

  493. lower things down and draw them up and

  494. use all you can. It's as in Genesis when

  495. God would come down in the call of

  496. healing and talk with Adam and Eve. It's

  497. a sewing and it's a reaping. It's a it's

  498. a praying for car parks. It's a praying

  499. for the sick. It's all those sorts of

  500. things. And how we get close to God is

  501. we get close to God.

  502. How how the presence of God is often

  503. described by people is is quite

  504. different and varied. Some would say

  505. it's a small quiet voice. It's it's

  506. peace in in a storm. It's calmness when

  507. everything's blowing around me. It's uh

  508. it's strength when I feel weak. It's

  509. hope when I feel hopeless. It's light

  510. when I am in the darkness. It is a firm

  511. ground as I the earth shakes around me.

  512. It is there's so many things that the

  513. presence of God would be to you. And

  514. what I what I what I I don't want to

  515. just give you an how-to, but I can say

  516. Moses had a daily he had a habit that

  517. the people knew. He had placed his tent

  518. of meeting outside where everyone else

  519. was so that he wouldn't be distracted by

  520. other things. And when he went there, he

  521. would talk to God face to face about

  522. everything.

  523. You got to understand Moses for the

  524. first 40 years of his life, he grew up

  525. in Pharaoh's court. He was he had the

  526. position, he had the title, he had the

  527. money, he had the prestige, he had the

  528. honor, he had everything. And he tried

  529. to set the Hebrews free. Didn't it

  530. failed miserably. He then spent the next

  531. 40 years in the desert tending some

  532. sheep, but with the presence of God. And

  533. you know what? When he got offered the

  534. the prestige and the the money and the

  535. value again, he chose not of that. He

  536. chose the presence of God.

  537. When we come and we look at the presence

  538. of God, it is something that we need to

  539. not get familiar with. It's not

  540. something that we just have to tick a

  541. box and go, "Yes, I've done this for

  542. you, God." It is needs to come a passion

  543. in our hearts.

  544. How I describe this is is

  545. how the presence of God affects others

  546. around you. It's, you know, when babies,

  547. this is because I have a granddaughter,

  548. it's okay. When little Lyra or any baby

  549. and they cuddle people, right? What they

  550. do is they, this is what I imagine us

  551. what happens when we get close to God

  552. and we spend time in his presence. They

  553. they nuzzle their little heads in,

  554. right? And if you're particularly if

  555. you're this is what happens when ladies

  556. come around. I've seen it. I can smell

  557. it on Lara all the time.

  558. The perfume that the lady is that the

  559. the auntie is wearing rubs off on Lyra.

  560. So the next person that gets a cuddle

  561. from Lyra

  562. gets the scent

  563. of the one who she was with before.

  564. >> Come on.

  565. >> I call them floozies because I'm like,

  566. "Who's been cuddling you with a strong

  567. perfume?

  568. Not.

  569. Imagine when people meet us in the

  570. street, they smell the sense of God.

  571. >> Imagine

  572. workplaces and families and gatherings.

  573. When you walk in the room, you're

  574. bringing a scent

  575. because you've spent time in the

  576. presence

  577. in a secret place

  578. absorbing

  579. God's presence.

  580. Acts declares when Peter's shadow

  581. walked, it healed

  582. because he had spent time in the

  583. presence of God.

  584. And as we clo close close this morning,

  585. can I ali up just just to

  586. make me sound way more spiritual than I

  587. probably am.

  588. This was birthed out of a of a private

  589. quiet time I had with God.

  590. And I'm not talking about the presence

  591. of God from what we had this morning

  592. with the worship team doing the work and

  593. giving us feelings and like I go, "Yes,

  594. that's amazing, God." I'm talking about

  595. the secret place.

  596. Moses spent 40 years in the desert

  597. crafting a secret place.

  598. Church, as we close, you should you

  599. should know this. The nation of Israel

  600. never fully became the blessing to the

  601. nations that they could have. They had

  602. good times and bad, but ultimately God

  603. kept his promise some 2,000 years ago.

  604. When Jesus was born,

  605. the hope of the world came into this

  606. place.

  607. God sent his only son out of the lineage

  608. of Abraham to keep covenants and

  609. promises fulfilled so that the world

  610. would know how to come home to the

  611. father.

  612. Jesus came. He broke the power of sin

  613. and death for all of us.

  614. He said that I am the way to get to the

  615. father. It is a narrow gate. He

  616. described it as not many people walk

  617. past it because a lot of people just

  618. want what they can get from God. They

  619. will use as useful, not as beautiful.

  620. But he goes, I am the way to the father.

  621. Anyone that comes to me

  622. will not perish but have ever

  623. everlasting life.

  624. Jesus has made a way this morning.

  625. Mezanique, he has made a way online. He

  626. has made a way. youth group over here.

  627. He's made a way. Families over here

  628. for you not to be in the desert to not

  629. to be in under the power of sin to not

  630. live a life dictated by your feelings

  631. and by your emotions and to be afraid of

  632. death. Jesus has made a way. He has paid

  633. the price so that you can live in

  634. freedom. He says that he who I set free,

  635. says Jesus, will be free indeed.

  636. It is a gift that was given to us at

  637. great cost.

  638. Something that you could never obtain,

  639. never earn, never be good enough, never

  640. strive hard enough, you can never do

  641. enough, you can never work enough, you

  642. could never achieve enough. But it is

  643. given freely to you.

  644. It is simply stated in a way that you

  645. must receive that free gift as well.

  646. turn away from our wrong actions and

  647. turn towards him.

  648. >> So with every eye closed, with every

  649. heart just open to God, with even those

  650. online, just take a moment wherever you

  651. are at, pull over to the side of the

  652. road, please. If you just take a moment

  653. and we come to God, we ask this

  654. question.

  655. if I could have everything I prayed for

  656. or I can have your presence.

  657. My prayer this morning is we are going

  658. to choose his presence.

  659. We're going to choose to get to know him

  660. this year.

  661. We're going to choose to know what it is

  662. in a secret place to get closer to God.

  663. And if you're here this morning in the

  664. sound of my voice and you don't know

  665. God, you don't have an active a real

  666. relationship with Jesus. I'm not talking

  667. about uh you know you you you you you've

  668. you've come to church for a while. I'm

  669. not talking about you just having a head

  670. knowledge of of Jesus. I am talking

  671. about a relationship that changes the

  672. way you live because you are you love

  673. him so much. I'm talking about he has

  674. shaped your life. He has changed your

  675. life. He is so real to you today that

  676. you have a confidence in your heart that

  677. if you were to die today that heaven is

  678. your first your last breath on earth is

  679. going to start with your first breath in

  680. heaven.

  681. So this morning I'm going to give an

  682. opportunity to those that are here maybe

  683. those that are online as well. If you

  684. want to accept Jesus as your savior you

  685. want to start this year knowing you are

  686. right with God knowing that you can

  687. exchange your wrongs for his rights.

  688. that to that offer is available to you

  689. this morning. Jesus says, "I behold I

  690. knock on the door of your heart and will

  691. you let me in?" There's some people here

  692. from the front to the back to the left

  693. to the right, the mezzanine to those

  694. that are online. Is there some people

  695. here that want to know about Jesus? If

  696. that's you this morning, I'm just going

  697. to say a quick prayer and I want to know

  698. if who I'm including in this prayer. So,

  699. if that's you in this place, on the

  700. count of three, I'm just going to simply

  701. ask you to lift your hands as an outward

  702. sign of what's happened on the inside of

  703. you. On the count of three, you're

  704. lifting your hands to say, I accept

  705. Jesus as my savior. You're saying, I

  706. want to start a relationship with you.

  707. You're saying, God, I want to live this

  708. year for you in Jesus mighty name. On

  709. the count of three, one, two, three. Are

  710. there any hands in this place? Call

  711. these hands going up. Cool. Hands going

  712. across this place. Some up in the

  713. mezzanine. Come on. Let's just linger

  714. here for a little bit longer. Keep those

  715. hands going, guys. Maybe you're here and

  716. you're wrestling with this. You want to

  717. do it your own way. You think you can

  718. strive your own way. Can I just say that

  719. is not how this is going to work. It is

  720. going to be a surrendering of your will

  721. and letting God take over. Is there any

  722. more hands in this place? I see there's

  723. multiple hands going up across this

  724. place. This is fantastic. Keep them high

  725. and lifted. There's some more hands in

  726. the mezzanine. This is fantastic. God,

  727. you're doing something in this place.

  728. You're doing something in this place.

  729. His presence is changing people's lives

  730. right now. Holy Spirit, we're not coming

  731. to you because you're useful. We're

  732. coming to you because you are good. Holy

  733. Spirit, one last time. One more

  734. invitation. Any more hands? Just

  735. quickly, quickly, quickly, quickly. Any

  736. hands in this place can be lifted in

  737. this place.

  738. Holy Ghost, you guys can put your hands

  739. down. Fantastic.

  740. Fantastic. And I'm just going to say

  741. this out loud. Why don't you say this in

  742. your heart? We say, "Jesus,

  743. I come to you this today in need of your

  744. saving power.

  745. I exchange my wrong for your right.

  746. I accept you as my savior, as my lord,

  747. as my everything

  748. from this day forward.

  749. I choose you. I live for you

  750. in Jesus mighty name. Amen. Amen. Amen.

  751. With every head bowed, just there's one

  752. more last thing before I get Aaron back

  753. up.

  754. that question of whether you would

  755. choose God's what he's promised you over

  756. his presence. I just got a sense people

  757. need to respond to that as well.

  758. If God has been distant and you've found

  759. your eyes are going to this earth and

  760. what you can achieve on this earth and

  761. you feel like you've chosen that stuff

  762. over the presence of God and you would

  763. love to just for a re sort of a

  764. freshness of God, a new filling of the

  765. Holy Spirit and you just want that fire

  766. and that passion again this morning. I

  767. just pray if you're in this place, why

  768. won't you just lift your hands? If you

  769. want to lift your hands, call this hands

  770. going across. Yeah.

  771. Father, we just release

  772. a new anointing, a new power, a new Holy

  773. Spirit encounter,

  774. a new presence of God in these people's

  775. lives that have got their hands lifted.

  776. Father, let them know what it is to be

  777. loved by you. Let them know what it is

  778. to be close to you in the secret place.

  779. Let them know what it is to have an

  780. active, real relationship with you. And

  781. Father, we just declare real freedom

  782. over people's lives right now. you're

  783. set free from any wrong mindsets or any

  784. faults or wrongs or or things you've

  785. done wrong in your life. We just set

  786. them free and say, "God, you to start a

  787. new new thing this morning." We pray. We

  788. just declare that over this life. Holy

  789. Spirit, we pray you would pour in right

  790. now into these hearts that have got

  791. their hands lifted in Jesus mighty name.

  792. Amen. Amen. Amen. Let's get it off for

  793. Pastor Aaron.
