Beautiful.
-
Loved it. For those who don't know who I
-
am, I'm Brody's dad.
-
>> It's great to be here, guys. Thank you,
-
Pastor Iron, for inviting me to speak.
-
And um today, I know you've been doing a
-
series on the wilderness, which has been
-
brilliant. Uh and I'm going to speak on,
-
you know, Jesus was led by the spirit.
-
He was filled with the spirit. In fact,
-
if you read your Bible, you'll see that
-
Jesus depended on the Holy Spirit for
-
everything. He was even born of the
-
spirit. He was raised from the dead by
-
the spirit. Hey, he cast out demons by
-
the spirit of God. And there was a
-
massive change in his life and how he
-
ministered when he came out of the
-
wilderness. So, I want to talk on the
-
power of the Holy Spirit. Is that okay?
-
>> Well, if it's not tough anyway, I'm
-
going to do it. E. But I want to say
-
this first of all guys just for anybody
-
who's not sure and you're maybe just
-
recently saved or I I don't know what is
-
but I want to say this that
-
when I heard about the Holy Ghost at the
-
start I got to be honest I was
-
frightened
-
when somebody told me when I when I give
-
my life to Jesus in a bathroom okay in a
-
workshop when I went to my friend who
-
was saved and I told him what I'd done
-
and I felt a real peace in my heart and
-
he said to me whoa that's the Holy
-
Ghost.
-
Now guys, you got to realize being
-
Irish, the ghost is
-
so I'm just being honest with you, I
-
think it's good way to start. I honestly
-
thought that I was in trouble. I
-
thought, man, no, God's ghost is going
-
to haunt me. I'm serious. And because I
-
knew in my heart that I had made a
-
covenant with God, it wasn't just words.
-
It was it was it was a heart connection.
-
It was a presence of God connection of
-
somebody who was uh lost, who was full
-
of sin and the drugs and everything else
-
calling out to God for help. And there
-
was a connection, serious connection. I
-
knew that what I had prayed that I
-
couldn't get out of. And I said, "Oh
-
no." So I've give God the right to haunt
-
me for the rest of my life. I'm being
-
serious cuz I I know I'm religious. I
-
didn't go to church. I went to church as
-
a kid. I used to steal money to the
-
offering.
-
>> Used to put anybody remember the old
-
coins?
-
>> I used to put a a brass one in and take
-
a silver when I
-
>> But I've repented off that. And you
-
know, so that's all right. So So I just
-
want to say guys, I want to say this. I
-
want to say that this Holy Spirit is
-
your companion. He's your advocate. He's
-
your helper. He's the one who comes
-
alongside. He's the one who comes into
-
He's the one who empowers us to do what
-
Jesus has called us to do.
-
>> He is awesome. And without the Holy
-
Spirit, you try to do stuff in your own
-
strength and forget about it. You have
-
no chance. Are you with me?
-
>> So, let's start in this in Luke chapter
-
one. What do you call the PowerPoint
-
person? Jimmy,
-
>> who's on the PowerPoint?
-
>> Dylan, are you willing? Here we go.
-
Okay. Luke 4:1. And Jesus being full of
-
the Holy Spirit returned from the Jordan
-
and was led by the spirit into the
-
wilderness being or being 40 days
-
tempted of the devil. And in those days
-
he didn't eat anything. And when it was
-
ended, he was hungry. And the devil said
-
to him, "If you are the son of God, let
-
me tell you something, guys.
-
When you give your life to Jesus, I can
-
guarantee you that the old enemy will
-
come and whisper in your into your
-
brain,
-
you're not worthy enough. You're not
-
good enough.
-
But I want to tell you something. If
-
you've given your heart to Jesus, you
-
are a son and daughter of God.
-
>> And but I want to I want you to realize
-
something. You'll be challenged. The
-
enemy will challenge you. You'll get a
-
word at times from somebody. God might
-
give somebody a word for encouragement
-
and the very next day everything goes
-
seems to go the opposite. But I want to
-
tell you something guys, God will never
-
leave you or forsake you. And you've got
-
to guard the word like Jesus done. Jesus
-
said, "No, it is written.
-
>> It is written, guys. You don't live by
-
Mr. Google. You don't live by bread
-
alone. Although we all love our bread or
-
kai everything else, guys. We live by
-
what God says. What does God say about
-
you? Who does God say you are? Amen.
-
>> But you got to get that into your heart
-
>> from your head into your heart. You gota
-
you got to take time out and and read
-
your Bible. And I you don't have to be a
-
big scholar. But guys, the bottom line
-
is you will find out who God is through
-
spending time with God and worship and
-
giving thanks and being grateful and
-
reading your word. Amen. So the thing is
-
if he came to the son of God and tried
-
to get him to doubt who he was, you can
-
be sure he'll come to us.
-
>> Oh, you're only Aaron. You're only Deba.
-
You're only Cllandon. You're only
-
Isaiah. Who are you?
-
But you can speak. Yeah, I'm a son of
-
God.
-
>> I've been forgiven. I've been set free.
-
And the joy of the Lord is my strength.
-
So he tried to get him to down. Now
-
guys, I don't want to go into this stuff
-
because I think the teaching has been
-
great over the last few weeks, but they
-
reckon that with Jesus getting into the
-
wilderness, part of it was he cut back
-
what Adam lost in the garden cuz Adam
-
fell to the lust of the flesh, the lust
-
of the eyes, and the pride of life.
-
Jesus didn't.
-
He didn't. He knew who he was, and he
-
trusted God for who God said he was.
-
Amen. Look at um in Luke 3:21, Dylan,
-
thank you. 21:22, when Jesus was being
-
baptized, watch this. Look, when all the
-
people were being baptized, Jesus was
-
baptized as well. And as he was praying,
-
heaven opened and the Holy Spirit
-
descended on him in bodily form like a
-
dove. What did it? Look, look at this.
-
And a voice from heaven said, "You are
-
my son." Come, give me give me what I
-
hear people saying this stuff. who am
-
well pleased. It doesn't say that first.
-
>> Get a grip. That's it. It doesn't say
-
that first. You are my son who I
-
>> You need to realize something, guys. You
-
don't impress God by what you do.
-
>> And he doesn't love you for what you do.
-
Jesus hadn't cast out a demon. He hadn't
-
preached a brilliant service. He hadn't
-
fed thousands of people. He hadn't done
-
anything. And God said, "This is my son
-
who I love, and with him I'm well
-
pleased." So you need to realize when
-
God looks at you says, "This is my son.
-
This is my daughter who I love and with
-
you I'm well pleased." Some people are
-
getting got water baptized on Friday
-
night. Brilliant. Praise Jesus.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> Yeah. And you just need to realize those
-
people if you're here today, you need to
-
realize that although you didn't see the
-
dove coming down upon anything else, you
-
need to realize that heaven was open.
-
There was an open heaven down in here.
-
And God was looking around and saying,
-
"This is my sons and daughters who I
-
love and with them I'm well pleased."
-
And next week also for those who are
-
coming to get water baptized, that's a
-
word for you, too. Grab it and take it.
-
God is saying to you, "I love you.
-
You're my son. You're my daughter. And
-
hold on to it. Guard it with all your
-
heart." Amen.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> I get warm. I knew this was going to
-
happen.
-
I don't know why. I think it was a bit
-
of pride to put the jacket on. Maybe
-
maybe hide the belly a bit or something.
-
I don't know. But let's move on. Let's
-
move on. See, guys, you need to realize
-
something.
-
Jesus knew who he was in God.
-
He trusted God. And you got to realize
-
he he left his glory in heaven. He came
-
as a man. Yes, he was defined, but he
-
came as a person and he trusted God. And
-
look, you know, the night before uh the
-
Passover, whatever it was, or maybe it
-
was a night in the Passover, but in John
-
13:1-3, Dylan, thank you. It was before
-
the Passover festival, Jesus knew that
-
his had come to leave the world. Guys,
-
he knew he'd accomplish his mission. He
-
knew, Father, here we go. It's
-
happening.
-
>> You know, even in the garden, oh Lord,
-
if you can take this cup from me, but
-
not my will be done, your will be done.
-
Listen, he was bang. He was focused. He
-
knew I'm going to finish what the father
-
has sent me here to do. Are you with me?
-
>> So it says there look he knew. Where am
-
I? Get my notes. Uh that he was going to
-
the father having loved his own who were
-
in the world. He loved them to the end.
-
G verse three. Jesus knew that the
-
father had put all things under his
-
>> and he had come from God and he was
-
returning to God. Let me tell you
-
something else guys. said he knew the
-
father had given him all power. Can I
-
tell you something? We haven't got the
-
power to be all flash,
-
all that sound effects and stuff. I'm
-
being honest. You got no power. God has.
-
But here's the amazing thing. Jesus
-
didn't use his power to boss anybody or
-
control anybody. The very first thing he
-
done was was wrap something around his
-
waist and he took told him, "Take your
-
jandles off." And he washed their feet.
-
Guys, he served. He came to serve. We're
-
on this earth to serve the master. We
-
Yes, the dunamis power of God is on you,
-
the anointed of the Holy Spirit, but
-
we're here for the benefit of others to
-
show the love of God. That's what Jesus
-
done. He loved his disciples right to
-
the very end. Amen.
-
>> Okay, you're with me? Good. I got to
-
look at my notes because it's been a
-
while.
-
You see, guys, I want to say something,
-
too. He knew where he had come from. He
-
knew where he's going. And he knew his
-
purpose. When you when I didn't have
-
Jesus in my life, I don't know about
-
you, but I didn't have any purpose.
-
>> I really didn't know where I came from.
-
I believed everything.
-
>> I knew it was the Bobby Rascal.
-
You said the wrong word there. Um
-
but but I didn't honestly I did I didn't
-
know. I did and and and I knew where it
-
was going. I did know where it was
-
going. And it wasn't heaven. I did know.
-
For some reason, I didn't know.
-
But when Jesus came into my life
-
and loved on me and I started to build
-
my relationship with him, I realized,
-
God, I'm not an accident. My mom and dad
-
weren't just having a bit of fun. And
-
whoopsy do.
-
No, it's all right. Sex is lovely if
-
you're married. Well, not even. We not
-
go there, but we not go there. But it's
-
a gift to God. It's a It's a gift from
-
God to multiply and to enjoy. All right.
-
But what I want to say is, guys, I
-
realize God, you you breathed me into my
-
mother's womb.
-
>> In the Psalms, it said that you're
-
wonderfully and fearfully made. You see,
-
the words that were spoke over my life,
-
I didn't feel that I was wonderfully and
-
fearfully made.
-
>> Because I was used to people cursing me
-
and putting me down and everything else.
-
But God doesn't put you down. God
-
encourages you. God loves you. God
-
builds you up. He says in fact, "Hey, be
-
careful what comes out of here. Make
-
sure it's going to build people up and
-
if it's going to benefit them. Let no
-
one hold some talk come out of your
-
mouth." Amen. But wait, so what I'm
-
trying to say is guys, when I became
-
born again, all of a sudden realize,
-
God, I came from you. And I was excited.
-
I thought, Lord, I'm going back to you
-
when I die. I ain't going to the place I
-
know I was going to before. And it's
-
real. There's some teaching that this
-
stuff about, ah, hell's not real. It's
-
not. I'm telling you, it's a real place
-
and it's not nice. And once you're
-
there, you're there. But we're not
-
focusing that. Let's focus on Jesus.
-
Right? So I realized, wow, Lord, and I
-
felt so free. When I die, I'm going to
-
heaven. But then I knew the purpose. I
-
had a purpose in life. Cuz see, I'm
-
working for years. I'm taking drugs and
-
drinking, doing stuff you shouldn't do,
-
thinking there's no there's no reason to
-
life. There's no purpose. But when I got
-
saved, I realized there is a purpose.
-
People need to know about the love of
-
God. People near the hood near hear the
-
good news of the gospel. They need to
-
hear about Jesus coming and dying for
-
their sins and loving on them. And if
-
they trust in him, they going to have
-
eternal life also. Amen.
-
>> So that's what changes us guys. God
-
changes us from the inside out.
-
>> Wow. Jingers, time goes fast.
-
Okay. Okay. Let's go. So Jesus was
-
filled with the Holy Spirit, led by the
-
spirit in the wilderness, and he returns
-
in the power. Guys, that's when his
-
ministry really starts when he was
-
filled with the power of the Holy
-
Spirit.
-
Oh, I need my wife up here quick.
-
I'm only joking. I just know that that's
-
given me a certain amount of time. I've
-
learned I can blabber on too much
-
sometimes. And it only took me 35 years.
-
But
-
so Jesus returned to Galilee and the
-
power of the spirit and news about him
-
spread through the countryside. Guys,
-
the word dunamis mean the word power
-
means dunamis. It's not just the power
-
to be nice and stuff. You're born of the
-
spirit. Yes, your character develops and
-
the love, joy, peace, patience,
-
kindness, the fruit of the spirit should
-
be seen evident as all, right? But he's
-
moving in the power of the spirit. All
-
of a sudden, demons start to get cast
-
out of people. All of a sudden, people
-
start to get healed. People start to get
-
set free. He raises the dead. That's the
-
power of God. Amen. And that Jesus and
-
Jesus depended on the Holy Spirit.
-
>> Okay. You with me? Good. Good. Okay. In
-
Luke 4:16-19,
-
we're going to pause after verse 7 16.
-
Right. Thank you, Dylan. And it came and
-
Jesus came to Nazareth.
-
Ah, this thing's going to go off again.
-
Can you give this to my wife and she can
-
go off instead of it? And believe me,
-
I'll I'll bear. Okay.
-
Okay. Verse 16. And Jesus came to
-
Nazareth where he where he'd been
-
brought up. And as his custom was, he
-
went into the synagogue on the Sabbath
-
day. Church, brilliant to see you here.
-
I'm telling you something. It's so
-
important to be together. It's so
-
important to come together to worship
-
God and to bless each other, encourage
-
each other, and pray for one another.
-
>> Amen. So, I want to encourage I know
-
there's some people online. I'm sorry I
-
didn't say hi to you. Aaron told me not
-
to, but
-
that's all right. Um, but I just want to
-
say I know that some people can't get to
-
church because they're unwell and
-
different things. And thank God for
-
online. Even some people's maybe moved
-
to town and they're looking for a new
-
church. I I get that. But if you can get
-
into the real atmosphere of the game,
-
get into it. Get into church. You know,
-
because the gifts that God has given
-
you, the part that's on your life of the
-
Holy Spirit isn't for you. It's for
-
somebody else.
-
>> I'm going to show you that in a minute.
-
But for those who, if you can get along,
-
good on you guys. Good to see you. Bring
-
somebody with you next week. Go and pick
-
them up. Bring them along. Let them feel
-
the presence of God. Amen. Okay, keep
-
moving. Verse 17. There Jesus would
-
delivered onto him the book of Messiah.
-
And when he had opened the book, he
-
found the place where it was written,
-
"The spirit of the Lord is upon me
-
because he has anointed me to what?
-
Preach the good news." Guys, I'm telling
-
you, we are anointed to share the good
-
news. First of all, that's the first
-
thing. Share the good news. Okay? He's
-
called me to preach to the poor. That's
-
poor in spirit. We were all poor in
-
spirit one day when we didn't have
-
Jesus. Amen. He's He sent me to heal the
-
brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to
-
the captives and the recover of sight to
-
the blind. Ah wow. And liberty to those
-
who are bruised. Healing, freedom, body,
-
soul, and spirit. So this is coming up.
-
Just hold it, Dylan. Second,
-
the spirit of God comes into your life
-
and you get born again. I believe this.
-
I believe before you get born again, the
-
Holy Spirit's beside you. You're not
-
even aware of it. But you know,
-
sometimes you think about what what
-
there's got to be more to life. What
-
does happen when you die? You know,
-
sometimes you go to a tongue. That's
-
when you really start, oh, I'm going to
-
die one day. But, but you maybe start to
-
think, well, I wonder what happens. I
-
think that's the spirit of God getting
-
your attention a bit. But then there
-
comes that bit where you get where you
-
get convicted and the spirit of God
-
comes into your life. But you see,
-
that's for you, right? But when he comes
-
upon you, it's for somebody else. So,
-
we've got it on on the screen. Thank
-
you. The Holy Spirit comes into your
-
life for your benefit. Have we got it,
-
Dylan?
-
The Holy Spirit comes into us for our
-
benefit, but the spirit of the Lord
-
comes upon us for the benefit of others.
-
You read the scripture, it says that the
-
spirit is long is upon me for why? To
-
set the captives free. Now guys, that
-
whole captive thing, it could be a
-
prisoner in jail. We know some people's
-
got saved in jail. Praise God. But that
-
mean we were all captive to sin. We all
-
were captive to different addictions and
-
everything else and the spirit of God
-
turned up and he set us free.
-
>> Amen. But can you see what happened? So
-
when we're when when the Holy Spirit's
-
upon us, when you're praying for
-
someone, it's for their benefit. Amen.
-
Like here's the thing. Oh, we'll not go
-
there. No, we just we just we keep
-
moving. So we're we're anointed. Amen.
-
You still with me? It's God's will
-
for people to be healed and to be set
-
free.
-
>> God's will was never we would be binded
-
up.
-
The devil came to rob, steal, destroy,
-
and kill, but Jesus came to give life
-
and give it in abundance.
-
>> And Jesus said himself, "The works I do
-
will you also do even greater works and
-
these because I'm going to go on to the
-
Father." Guys, I did. Trent McD didn't
-
say that. The word of God said that. And
-
when I learned when I seen people being
-
healed at a church service in Gizbborne,
-
I cried.
-
I cried. I seen them people being prayed
-
for by ordinary people. And I cried and
-
I thought, Lord, I didn't know that you
-
would do this as well. I thought, I'm
-
just happy enough to be forgiven. And
-
and I was thinking, I've got my own
-
strength. I got to hold on tight until I
-
die and go to heaven. I didn't realize
-
that the spirit of God's on this earth
-
that the kingdom of God breaks on into
-
darkness with light and brings life. I I
-
didn't know that. But when I seen it
-
happening, I THOUGHT, "WOW." AND I
-
WANTED to know why. I said to the
-
pastor, "How come this is happening?" He
-
said, "Trevor, the word of God says that
-
when when you're when you're born again,
-
you're a new creation. You're a new
-
person. All things are passed away." And
-
and he show I I knew that I thought,
-
Lord, I want to pray for people, but not
-
for me to look at me. Whoa. But
-
thinking, God, I seen them people so
-
happy.
-
>> I seen them so joyful. And I I knew that
-
if I couldn't find in the word where it
-
said about praying for the sick and
-
everything else that somebody was going
-
to challenge me and people have what
-
gives you the right to pray for people.
-
Who do you think you are? I I can say
-
guys I'm only doing what Jesus asked.
-
I'm born again and Jesus said that I
-
believe I follow him and if I pray
-
>> that's all I I don't have to prove
-
anything else. And I've prayed for
-
hundreds of people who didn't get
-
healed. But I'll tell you what I know
-
for one thing. If I had to prayed for
-
nobody, nobody would get healed.
-
>> So if if there's 500 healed, but 5,000
-
were prayed for, praise God for the 500.
-
>> Does that make sense?
-
>> So it's the spirit of God. It's his
-
will. It says in Acts 10:38, God
-
anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy
-
Ghost and power to go about doing good
-
and healing those who were oppressed of
-
the devil. So he wasn't just going
-
about. Now, he was good. You don't What
-
did Jesus do when he was 15, 18, 20, 25?
-
That That's good. Good. That could be
-
good on the fact of he'd have been a
-
good son. He'd have been a good
-
carpenter. He wouldn't have been selling
-
you rubbish stuff. No, he he'd have been
-
loving. He'd have been kind to people to
-
eat with me. But when it says that God
-
anointed them with the Holy Ghost and
-
power, hey, again, that power, dynamis,
-
miracle working power. And I'm going to
-
close this off shortly. In Acts 18, it
-
says, "You will receive power." This is
-
Jesus, guys. Listen, listen. This is
-
Jesus talking to the apostles, right?
-
Acts one verse two. This is what it
-
says.
-
Jesus gave these commands to the
-
apostles through the power of the Holy
-
Ghost.
-
So even then after he's raised from the
-
dead, he's given orders through the Holy
-
Spirit. I want you to wait for the
-
promise to come and you will receive
-
power to be my witnesses. Guys, that
-
witness number one is yes, we can share
-
the good news. We can share even hope
-
that you don't have to share how you get
-
saved. Just this is why I've got hope.
-
This is why I'm joyful. This is why I'm
-
free. You know that's sure that that's
-
Jesus in your life. Right? But the thing
-
is it goes beyond that. But it's so sure
-
the good news will be my witnesses.
-
Guys, this the thing when you pray for
-
somebody who's feeling down and all of a
-
sudden they feel joyful. You with me?
-
That's a great witness to Jesus because
-
you didn't do that. The Holy Spirit did.
-
Does that make sense?
-
>> You still with me? All right. Finishing.
-
born again. They were born again in John
-
20:22.
-
Jesus said, "Receive the Holy Spirit."
-
But he told them to wait for the day of
-
Pentecost to receive power. He had
-
already breathed into them the Holy
-
Spirit after his death and resurrection.
-
Okay, you with me? But here's what I
-
want to say, guys. I remember reading
-
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and I
-
loved it when I was just saved. I loved
-
it. And I remember coming to the end of
-
John and thinking, "Oh, no. I'm finished
-
the Gospels." I thought, "What? I I had
-
no clue what Acts was about. It was just
-
a word. I didn't even dawn on me. I
-
thought I'll read the next book. Just he
-
was like, Jers, I couldn't put it down.
-
I couldn't believe it. I thought, wow,
-
the miracles haven't stopped.
-
The mira
-
and he told his followers, "Go, you're
-
anointed. You go and do what I done."
-
Man, I was excited as heck.
-
>> Jesus tagged and passed it on. You with
-
me? Yeah.
-
>> So, what I want to say is, guys, the
-
book of Acts 2 is full of it's full of
-
miracles. I loved getting a revelation
-
of what it was all about. Now, we're
-
finishing off. Is there a photograph,
-
Dylan?
-
Look at that.
-
>> Hi. What a specimen. A bike.
-
I'm going to get a cinch. Is that what
-
you call them? So, this is my lovely
-
wife Debbie. When we done the you know
-
what did we do this track? What do you
-
call it?
-
N just saying if you're awake or not.
-
No, no, no.
-
>> We done the what?
-
>> Trail.
-
>> Dunston trail. Now, would I tell you
-
something, guys? We didn't know what we
-
were getting into. Honestly, we didn't
-
didn't have a clue. But what I want to
-
say is there's power in that bike. It's
-
an ebike. But what I want to say, one
-
time we were on this nice flat ground
-
riding away and I was always in front of
-
Debbie and we stopped for a coffee. We
-
went and we got on our bikes and we we
-
took off. Didn't go very far. Next
-
minute she ramps by me but she'd have
-
got a speeding ticket if they had been
-
on the main road.
-
And I'm thinking so I'm peding harder
-
and and nothing's happening. I'm
-
serious. Now these bikes are something
-
like 30 kgs in weight. That's how heavy
-
they are, right?
-
>> And you believe me? There's more than 30
-
kgs on the seat. But never mind. So I
-
come to this small hill and I thought
-
I'm going to really ramp it here. I
-
couldn't get up it really small. So she
-
was way in front and obviously so
-
whistle hard.
-
She heard it one wheeler. She came back.
-
I said honey we we can't do this.
-
What do you mean we can't? I said we we
-
got to take these bikes back. She said I
-
said I I can't do this. I said I I can't
-
catch up with you. So she has a look at
-
the bag and said, "Oh, here you go."
-
Pushes the button. There you go. I
-
forgot to switch on the power.
-
So for those who have got a bag that has
-
let me back, you try riding it without
-
the power on and you'll know what I
-
mean. And what I want to say is guys, I
-
had disconnected from the power. This is
-
not a religious thing. It's not by laws
-
and rules, everything else. We got to
-
stay connected to Jesus. Be thankful
-
every day. be and and let me tell you
-
being filled with the spirit is not a
-
one. It's it's it's an ongoing every day
-
we should be Lord fill me fresh in Jesus
-
mighty name and help me to do what
-
you've called me to do today in Jesus
-
name. Amen. And believe for healing and
-
believe for people to be set free and
-
believe for Jesus to be glorified. So
-
guys, you got to connect by faith every
-
day. Surrender. Now listen, this is
-
closing off, right? I I feel we need to
-
pray for some people right the moment we
-
need to pray for some people who's never
-
been filled with the spirit of God right
-
read the book of Acts guys I'm not they
-
they laid hands on them believers in
-
fact they asked what baptism did you
-
have oh we were baptized with John well
-
that's all right but you need baptism of
-
the holy spirit they prayed they and and
-
these people started to speak in in
-
tongues and they started to prophesy and
-
stuff you know the gift was released
-
onto them right you with me so there's
-
some people who have ever been um filled
-
with the Holy Spirit?
-
Only if you want, we would love to pray
-
for you this morning.
-
>> Is that all right? Now, I think we can
-
come this side. There's other people who
-
need prayed for other stuff and that's
-
cool because there's some people maybe
-
unwell or they need different things,
-
whatever. Come. Does that make sense?
-
>> The only thing you need before you can
-
be prayed for the baptism of Holy
-
Spirit, you need to be born again.
-
That's the only thing you need. You can
-
get baptized Holy Spirit before you get
-
water baptized, but you need to have
-
Jesus in your heart. Does that make
-
sense? And I want to say it is the
-
baptism of Holy Spirit that makes a
-
difference.
-
>> Let me encourage you. So, I'm in church
-
on a Sunday night
-
and the altar call for the baptism of
-
Holy Spirit. Now, I knew I needed I
-
thought I I I need I need this.
-
So I go up the front. We're in line.
-
The pastor's praying, but what he does
-
is he calls three or four other people
-
up. Come and pray with us. So I'm
-
standing the line. I'm just being
-
honest. I'm looking to see where the
-
pastor is. That fell's got to pray for
-
me. See, I'm serious. So I start moving
-
cuz I'm looking to where he's coming
-
along. And there's one person in
-
particular. I'm seriously there's this
-
guy that had a really bad attitude with
-
him.
-
I did. I'm just being honest. You got to
-
realize I'm not making excuse. I wasn't
-
saved that long. But he but he did get
-
up my nose a bit. And he's coming. Oh my
-
Lord Jesus said, "Please don't. Please
-
rep come take me home." What happens to
-
this guy prays for me. Seriously, she
-
was praying for me. Now I want to
-
encourage you guys. Listen,
-
he was praying. You just touch somebody
-
gentle head and ask him, Lord, baptize
-
him, Holy Spirit. come and release the
-
gifts of God in them. We have to do any
-
any more than that, right? So, he's
-
praying for me, you know, seriously. And
-
then he's all of a sudden he's he's
-
speaking in the spirit and he says,
-
"Who? Who? There it is. Bring it out."
-
Right? I'm just being really honest with
-
you. Right?
-
So, I'm thinking, "Bring what out?
-
There it is."
-
And I'm seriously guys, I got I says
-
before the Lord, I've repented off this
-
cuz my attitude wasn't good. So I just I
-
just
-
he said that's it. I was gone
-
home cigarette.
-
Still smoking at the time. Said to I'm
-
never going back to that church. What's
-
wrong? I said Mr. Big M who's pay for
-
me, Mr. Big Mouth.
-
I said I was feeding. He said, "If I
-
didn't do something, I never would have
-
got to that church. I'm serious.
-
>> So, you don't have to worry about this."
-
All right. This This is a great church
-
to be in. This is a safe place to be.
-
I'm just being honest with you and real.
-
So, what happens is so next day I go to
-
work. Still had a bad attitude.
-
Lunchtime comes around. I go to the I go
-
I'm going I'm going to get my lunch and
-
I'm standing watching the traffic.
-
There's a guy with me. He's watching
-
this side. I'm watching and seriously I
-
look down the road and all of a sudden
-
I
-
I I said did did you hear anything
-
there? No. I said I thought thank you
-
Jesus cuz it it took me by shot. But
-
what I realized guys when you desire the
-
gifts when you step out in faith and you
-
want God had turned up now I had to
-
repent. I had to repent from the
-
attitude towards that guy and him and I
-
are really good friends today.
-
>> I'm serious about that by the way.
-
cuz I had to go and apologize a couple
-
of years later and ask for forgiveness
-
and stuff. But but I'm only saying that
-
in the simple fact is guys.
-
We'd love to pray for you if you've
-
never been filled. Do you want to call
-
it the baptism Holy Spirit? I think it's
-
the same hand. You know it's the same
-
thing. If you have, we would love to
-
pray for you on this side. But first of
-
all, just finishing. Is there anyone
-
here and you haven't you've never gave
-
your life to Jesus because you need to
-
be born again first of all. But if you
-
become born again today, we would still
-
love to pray for you for that as well.
-
So if there's anyone here, there's
-
anyone here who's
-
here and you know you need to give your
-
life to Jesus. I'm going to count to
-
three. Three.
-
Okay. Praise you, Jesus.
-
Okay. We're going to finish off now. Is
-
that all right? And those who would like
-
prayed for the Holy Spirit decide
-
anybody who's got prayer for anything
-
else, please come up front. Before that
-
guys, we're going to release you now to
-
go and enjoy some fellowship together
-
and enjoy some coffee and stuff. But
-
let's realize we're in the presence of
-
God. The presence of God is here and
-
people are being prayed for. So, let's
-
respect that and go quietly and enjoy
-
catching up with each other. Amen.
-
>> God bless you.
