THE SPIRIT FILLED LIFE | SUNDAY 24TH MAY | PS AARON MORE

Hey, tonight um we do have our all-in

team night for anyone who's on a roster

and serves as part of a team. We are

having uh burgers, so that's going to be

pretty good. And then uh after that

though, there is also our Pentecost

prayer meeting. Um at 7 o'clock, I was

about to say it will go to 8:15, but um

hey, it's Pentecost Sunday. Who knows?

Um and uh so yeah, we will see where

that one goes. But I encourage you uh

let's um come out to that man. Like I

can guarantee you it will be better than

what is ever is on TV at uh 7:00 on uh

we've got some debate.

We'll have an altar call for salvation

at the end for anyone that wants to uh

debate that. You can give your life to

Jesus and uh and then we'll um and then

you'll be able to come to the Pentecost

prayer meeting. How good. So, no, I

really encourage you uh we obviously

don't believe there's only one method of

prayer. We don't believe the only prayer

that should happen is in big groups. But

we do believe there is something on us

as a church that we are to gather

together and pray. And something happens

when we gather together and pray.

Something happens when we pray

individually, but there is a dimension

in God that happens when we gather

together. So, we really encourage you

tonight uh 7 o'clock. We'd love to see

you there for that. Um last week during

the uh second service during worship, I

just got this sense that there was uh

someone um struggling with uh dreams or

nightmares in the night. And kind of the

word that I got was that the Lord was

going to replace those in some way. And

so I gave that uh word, kind of uh

fumbled through it the best of what I

hoped the Holy Spirit was saying. And uh

we prayed and uh it was so encouraging.

You know, you do that and then you move

on. And then um uh Pastor Paul came in

uh during the week and said, "Oh, we've

just heard a testimony of someone who uh

pretty much every night for a period of

years would have the same nightmare."

And uh it it so shocked them because

Sunday night they had the same dream but

the dream changed and the end was

different to the point where they

actually woke up in the night with like

shocked like my goodness. And so that's

the power of the Holy Spirit. Like no no

no person shifts those things but the

presence of God does. And this morning

is Pentecost Sunday. And uh Pentecost is

an historical thing that happened in

Acts chapter 2 where the it was the

Acts 2 · chapter mention

spirit was poured out and it was the

birth of the church. So that's where the

church started from. But for us as a

Pentecostal church, we don't just

believe it was a historical fact, but

that it was actually the beginning of an

invitation for us to live lives that

encounter and are shaped by the Holy

Spirit. And so, uh, Acts chapter 2 is

Acts 2 · chapter mention

where we learn about the birth of the

church and the outpouring of the spirit.

But I want us to go back this morning

and actually begin to look in Acts

Acts 1 · chapter mention

chapter 1. And in Acts 1:3, it says

Acts 1:3

this. After his suffering, talking about

Jesus, he presented himself to them and

gave many convincing proofs that he was

alive, he appeared to them over a period

of 40 days and spoke about the kingdom

of God. So here we have Jesus has died.

He's risen from the dead. And for a

period of 40 days, the resurrected

Christ physically turns up at different

times when they're meeting together. I

mean, you can imagine what that must

have been like. Like, is he going to

come today? I mean, he was resurrected,

but he was resurrected in a physical

body. Like, it tells us in the next

verse that one time he when he was

eating with them. So, he would turn up

for a kai. It would be like, man, when's

Jesus going to turn up? And then all of

a sudden he would come. And so for this

period of 40 days, Jesus would come in

and out of their midst teaching them

about the kingdom of God. And I guess it

must have been a little bit like our

lives are on hold because we don't know

when is he going to turn up? Like I

don't want to miss the meeting. when

he's going to turn up. You can imagine

like it must have been so uh exciting

and also like confusing like man uh this

Jesus just turns up when he wants and

has a teaches us some stuff and then he

disappears and then he walks through a

wall and then the next day he turns up

again. And so he appeared to them over

these 40 days and spoke about the

kingdom of God.

their lives must have almost been on

hold waiting for him to appear.

And so it tells us for 40 days he

teaches them on the kingdom of God. And

then it lets us know that it's getting

to the end of these 40 days. Of course,

the disciples don't know that it's the

end of the resurrected Christ appearing

to them because what happens is Jesus

appears for 40 days. Then he goes up to

heaven. But the disciples don't know

this is what's going to happen. So it's

just this day he turns up and it says on

one occasion while he was eating with

them, he gave this command. Do not leave

Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my

father promised which you have heard me

speak about. For John baptized with

water, but in a few days you will be

baptized with the Holy Spirit. See, it's

getting to the end of these 40 days. And

the interesting thing is Jesus doesn't

leave them with a plan. He leaves them

with a promise. He doesn't say, "Well,

actually, I'm about to go and hear A, B,

C, D, E." He's actually like, "Hey, the

plan is to wait."

And so Jesus comes and he's like, "Hey,

I am going to go. Do not leave

Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my

father has promised you.

You see, he begins to depend priority on

the presence over activity. He he he

begins to say, "Hey, before anything

else, I want you to wait." Now you got

to think they have spent years with

Jesus.

Like uh many of the disciples spent uh

the three years with Jesus while he was

alive. They've now had the risen Christ

teaching them about the kingdom of God.

Like I don't know that you're ever going

to have a group of people that received

better teaching. In fact, I'll tell you

something. You're never going to have a

group of people that received better

teaching than that. Like doesn't matter

who your favorite preacher is. I know

it's me, but that's okay. Like, doesn't

matter who your favorite preacher is,

man. Getting taught by the risen Christ

for these uh 40-day period. Like, the

teaching was amazing. That that'd seen

miracles like they're now with the

resurrected Christ. You'd be like, "Wow,

this is amazing." And then he's like,

"Wait, you need to wait for something."

Like, in our mind, we would have been

like, "Man, they've got everything.

They're ready to go. And he's like, "No,

I have something I want you to wait

for."

And so Jesus gives this beautiful

picture. Hey, you're going to be

baptized in the Holy Spirit. Now, we got

to be fair to them. They don't really

have a grid for what that looks like.

That they don't actually know. Hey, what

does that mean? Like, yes, they've

observed Jesus, but what does a company

of people baptized in the Holy Spirit

look like? they actually don't know. So

they just go straight to their lens and

interpret it and they say then they

gathered around him and asked Lord are

you at this time going to restore the

kingdom to Israel? So straight away they

go back to like hey are you going to

work out what we want to see worked out.

You see, at this time, uh, Israel was,

uh, in captive to Rome. And so, it's

easy to look at them and think, well,

why did they jump straight to that? But

I'm sure if you were a captive within

your nation, and Jesus is like, now I'm

going to deliver you a promise. I think

you would naturally be like, please let

the promise be that we will no longer be

captives, but we will be set free. Do

you see they jump straight while Jesus

is talking about a promise? They begin

to look at again for the kingdom to come

in a physical way that would see them

politically set free. It's kind of

interesting because they ask that

question and he says it is not for you

to know the times or dates the father

except by his own authority but you will

receive power when the Holy Spirit comes

upon you. I mean, here they ask Jesus a

question and he basically says, "I'm not

going to answer that question. I'm going

to answer a different question." Have

you ever had anyone do that to you? Have

you ever observed anyone do that? We

usually call them politicians. You ask

them one question, they just go to their

talking point. Here, the disciples are

like, "Man, is it today you're going to

restore the kingdom of Israel?" He's

like, "I'm not going to talk about that.

That's not for you to know. But I do

have a talking point. I do have

something that I want to focus in on. I

want to let you know you are going to

receive power when the Holy Spirit comes

on you and you will be witnesses in

Jerusalem, in Judea, and to the ends of

the earth. Interesting that word

witnesses actually has a connotation of

martyrs in terms of giving your life

away. It's kind of interesting because

here they are saying Jesus will you set

us free from this Roman Empire and he's

saying you're going to receive power to

actually give your life away for the

people that you're currently trying to

get away from. Like you're actually

going to be receive a power that so

shifts everything that now you will give

your life away from those that you are

currently asking me to be free from.

You see, this is actually the last thing

Jesus says before he ascends. The last

thing he does is redirect their focus.

And I wonder if sometimes the Lord is

wanting to come to us and say, "I want

to redirect your focus." I don't know

about you, but I found my prayer life

works way better when I pray the things

that are on God's heart. Like yes, we

should pray what's on our heart. But

what I've discovered is when you begin

to sense a grace and you realize

something is on God's heart, all of a

sudden the prayer is much more

effective. And here Jesus is like, "Hey,

I get what's on your heart, but let me

redirect your focus. Let me shift your

focus to what is on my heart. Because my

heart is that you would focus on the

gift of the Holy Spirit that is to come.

Because it is human nature to get

fixated and focused on something and

miss the new thing that's happening. I

mean it is the nature of humanity. I

mean, some hypothetical people stop at

red lights and look at their cell

phones. No one on the stage would ever

do that, but they begin to look at their

cell phones at a red light and then they

hear a toot behind them because what has

happened is while they were texting

texting their Instagram, just kidding,

not Instagram, but maybe a uh email

complaint from a church member. While

they're reading that email complaint,

the light changes. It's like time to go.

It's time to move. But you're stuck

focused on what was. And we do it in all

kinds of micro ways, but we can do it in

big ways as well about big things when

we're being invited into new ways of the

spirit, but we have an existing uh

mindset and an existing platform. And

here Jesus is redirecting their focus.

He's saying, "Hey, like yes, I

understand this is important to you.

It's not up to you to know that, but you

will receive this. There is a gift

coming."

After he said this, he was taken up

before their very eyes, and a cloud hid

him from his uh hid him from their

sight. That's a pretty amazing thing to

begin to happen, right? So Jesus' last

words, you will receive power you when

the Holy Spirit comes upon you and then

he departs.

Last thing he says and so naturally

like Jesus has been appearing in their

midst now he's taking off up into the

sky. I mean this is a pretty radical

thing that's happening and you can

understand

where are they looking? Well, up, of

course, they're looking at Jesus as he

uh leaves, and I guess they're

wondering, "What does this mean? Will we

see him again?" Uh, and uh while they

were looking intently up into the sky as

he was going, suddenly two men dressed

in white stood before them. "Men of

Galilee," they said, why do you stand

here looking into the sky? That same

Jesus who has been taken from you into

heaven will come back the way you have

seen him go into heaven. You see, heaven

was redirecting their focus as well.

See, the disciples were steering upward

and angels come and interrupt their line

of sight. Not that they were necessarily

wrong for wanting to focus on Jesus, but

what was happening was a transition was

happening where no longer would it be a

physical resurrected Christ that would

appear in their midst, but now their

focus was to be on the spirit of the

risen Christ, the one who was promised

to be poured out. Because sometimes our

theology in church is a little bit

strange and we actually forget that

Jesus is now seated at the right hand of

the father. And yes, he's with us, but

he's actually with us through the spirit

of Christ. It's the spirit of Christ

that we receive who is with us. And so

here the angels are like, yes, like no

longer look up there. Jesus isn't going

to be appearing to you the same way he

was, but he's going to be with you in a

far deeper way. Because you know Jesus

as a resurrected body could be one

place, one time. Even though he was

glorified, he was still one place at one

time. And here they're being told,

redirect your focus because a gift is

coming where you won't have to wait. Is

he going to come or isn't he going to

come? There's actually a gift that is

coming when the father pours out the

spirit where he can he will be upon all

flesh.

It is our human tendency to get focused

on things and it is the nature of God to

invite us into new expressions of faith.

And so we get to Acts chapter 2, the day

Acts 2 · chapter mention

of Pentecost. And it says, "When the day

of Pentecost came, they were all

together in one place. Suddenly, a sound

like the blowing of violent wind came

from heaven and filled their whole house

where they were sitting. They saw what

seemed to be tongues of fire that

separated and came to rest of them. All

of them were filled with the Holy Spirit

and began to speak in other tongues as

the spirit enabled. You see, they had to

wait in Jerusalem. They waited for the

period of 10 days and then they're

meeting and the spirit of God descends

upon them and and they see tongues of

fire and they are filled with the

presence of God. So, we see this

fulfillment of what Jesus and the angels

were suggesting to them. Hey, don't look

up there anymore. They were needing to

hold on to those words of Jesus. And all

of them were filled with the Holy Spirit

and began to speak in other tongues as

the spirit enabled him. Pentecost

fulfills the promise that Jesus was

talking about.

And the promise was always supposed to

be the priority.

You see, Jesus was moving them to will

you wait? Will you make the presence of

God a priority? And can I suggest to you

if you're anything like me, there are so

many things that try and compete with

the priority of the presence of God in

our lives. There can be many things that

try and compete with the presence of God

in our churches. There can be many

things that compete with the presence of

God in our day-today life. But Jesus

wants the priority to be on the

presence. Wait. Don't go and do anything

like, "Yes, you've heard my teachings.

Yes, I've told you your sins are

forgiven. Yes, you've seen all the

miracles. You've done all this, but you

are not ready to go until you have

received the gift of the spirit."

You know, I I love that simple quote

that says this. Someone asked me, "Do

you need the Holy Spirit to go to

heaven?"

And and the reply was, "You need the

Holy Spirit to go to Kmart like

like you need the Holy Spirit to go

anywhere."

A and the priority that Jesus put that

nothing could start. The church could

not be born until the spirit was poured

out.

Now, I'm well aware as I speak this

morning that there will be a variety of

experiences that people have had with

churches, with the Holy Spirit, with

things going on. Some people have been

in environments where you've been really

upset because something has been said to

be done in the name of the Holy Spirit

and you have felt like it wasn't the

Holy Spirit. And in some cases, you're

exactly right.

Sometimes it was a person desperate to

see God move and maybe entered into

something where they began to try and

make that happen out of their flesh.

And that's not a good thing. And that's

something that we do not want to have in

the life of our church in our lives. We

we don't want that fleshbased

pushing of things.

But we also because of experience can't

change the priority.

Even if we've been wounded by something,

we don't have the chance to change what

Jesus made as a priority.

I always remember hearing Randy Clark

share that he went to a meeting where

they were saying the Holy Spirit was

doing stuff and um he goes to this

meeting and he's um he's sitting there

and he's like, I just want to watch and

see is this really God? Someone begins

to preach uh first session and this

person just begins to laugh during the

during the message really loud just

laughing laughing laughing and he's

looking and he's like ah I think God can

make someone laugh but I don't think

that's it. not God

says in his heart he's like right Lord

if they don't address this I want

nothing more to do with it like I can

see this isn't God this is man and I if

this guy doesn't address it I want to

leave this conference and I want nothing

to do with this manifestation stuff they

can have it I'm not having it and so it

gets to the end of the session nothing

gets said. He goes out to the morning

tea, has morning tea. He's like, "Man, I

didn't don't like that. They needed to

address it." Well, the next session, the

speaker gets up. Same guy gets up and

says,

he addresses it without uh addressing

it. You know, when someone does that

when they're like, you know, they're

talking about the situation, but they

don't say the situation. And this is

what the person got up and said. They

said, you know, sometimes

when God moves, unusual things happen.

Number one. Number two, sometimes in

environments like this, people are so

desperate to get touched by God that

they do something.

And many times, not all the time, but

many times, it doesn't mean they're a

bad person. It just means they're hungry

and they're reaching out in some way and

sometimes it's their flesh manifesting.

And then he said, "I've learned I'm not

necessarily a good judge of knowing the

difference."

And then he said this, "What I have

learned is that many times

when it is the second and the person is

reaching out and they're doing that,

many times it's not from an evil place.

It's from a hungry place and a place of

brokenness." And he said, "I've learned

that if rather than judge them, I can

have compassion for them." It doesn't

mean we shouldn't have order, but it

does mean I should have compassion for

that person rather than sitting in the

seat of judgment. And so sometimes when

the spirit moves, there will be unusual

manifestations.

And sometimes, yes, leaders do actually

need to correct things and say, "Hey,

that's not right. We're not going to do

that right now." But sometimes as well,

some of us actually need to be willing

to go, I don't have to know everything

you're doing, Lord.

>> I don't have to know. Like, God, would

you move? And Lord, if that's you, let

it be. If it's not, you let it not be.

Quite controversially, a a church I know

of had a glory cloud come into the room.

Now some people online you can read they

will say oh there was gold dust put in

the air filter

you know that kind of thing don't happen

they were just is glitter man they put

it in the air filter it goes through

what was interesting was

a young child goes out for lunch after

one of these services they go to a

family member who does not believe uh

you know they're going with their family

to another family for lunch and the

other family do not believe this is God

and so they say

amongst the adults

how do you know it's God like what do

you do if it's not God it's a

conversation for the adults but the

child pipes up says oh that's easy

they said when we see it we worship.

If it's God, we're worshiping. If it's

not God, we're worshiping. If our

response is worship to Jesus, man, so

many other things will be taken care of.

But I do want to say this morning,

some of us may have been environments

where we feel like someone's tried to

manipulate us, tried to hurt us, tried

to uh do things in the name of the Holy

Spirit that did not feel like they were

the Holy Spirit. And if that happened to

you, I'm so sorry. And can I my prayer

this morning is that maybe your heart

would be healed a little bit.

And that maybe there would be fresh

faith to say, "Okay, Lord. Lord, I'm

open to you. Lord, I don't want what a

man has for me, but I do want what you

have for me."

You see, the Holy Spirit is available.

Later on in Acts chapter 2, this is what

Acts 2 · chapter mention

Peter says. He says,"Repent and be

baptized every one of you in the name of

Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your

sins and you will receive the gift of

the Holy Spirit." I just want to repeat

that. Repent and be baptized every one

of you in the name of Jesus Christ for

the forgiveness of sins. And when they

repent, what will they receive? The gift

of the Holy Spirit. just in case you're

tempted to exclude yourself from life.

Oh yeah, I get there are people that

receive the spirit, but I'm not one of

them. He says the promise is for you and

your children and for all who are far

off. You might be like, man, I'm so far

off from from the person that that

receives the anointing. That's not me.

Can I tell you the promise is for you.

The promise is for everyone who receives

Jesus. And sometimes the Holy Spirit has

been preached in such a way to create a

pecking order to make you feel like,

man, if you've got this gift, then

you've got it. If you haven't got this

gift, you haven't got it. Can I say God

wants to liberally pour out his spirit

not on pastors alone, not on ministry

leaders, but on his children. It is the

nature of being a child of God that you

receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We had a crazy experience at a church in

Alexandra. Uh we've been leading the

church for two weeks. Um someone who was

part of the church came and said, "Hey,

I just feel like we're supposed to um

start a start another church within the

town." And obviously Alex is a small

town, right? like 5,000 people. It's

like, okay,

well, if that's what you feel, hey, we

have to bless you in that. But it, you

know, it was a challenging season. Two

weeks in, we go to this conference,

first session. Uh, actually, it was a

conference run by Ian Wright who's going

to come at the end of the year. But I

Wright um gets up at the end of the

first session and says, "Hey, we've got

uh someone here who likes to give

prophetic words over churches or who's

gifted in that. if you want a word for

your church, come up and receive it. And

I had all of this flooding through my

head. How are we going to manage this?

And I'll be honest, I was not that

interested in going up to receive a

word. And thankfully, sometimes you need

to have the right people around you cuz

one of the team's like, "Right, that's

us." And so, we were first in line. And

I'm like, "Okay." And so, he uh begins

to prophesy over our church. And then he

says this, "When you get back this

Sunday, something is going to be

different this Sunday." I'm like, "Yeah,

I know this Sunday I'm announcing to the

church that one of our church members is

starting another church and we'll do it

in a way where we bless them and honor

what they're doing, but I'm like, "Yeah,

something's going to change this

Sunday." All right. But he's like, "No,

something in the spirit will change this

Sunday." I'm like, "Well, I guess we'll

find out." Like, this is an easy word to

test. This won't take long. So, uh,

Sunday's not that far away. We get back

on the Sunday. Now, what happens is it's

incredibly hard Sunday because you

realize if you have to do an

announcement like that, you have to do

it at the end of the service, right? You

announce it at the start of the service

and everyone's mind's gone to that. So,

what that means is I have to carry it

for the whole service and it's in the

back of my mind the whole service. So,

I'm trying to steward what God's doing,

but I know I have this conversation at

the end where I'm trying to navigate

honoring the people who are going to

start something, but also um like yeah,

just blessing them, but also uh holding

fast what we believe God's doing within

our church. And so,

uh it gets to the end, I do the

announcement, it goes well, it's over.

I'm like, walk out to the cup of tea and

coffee area, have the cup of tea,

coffee, walk back into the auditorium.

And as I walk back into the auditorium,

there's a group of about 10 people in a

huddle in just inside the door of the

auditorium. And they're like, Aaron, I'm

like, yeah. They're like, can you tell?

Like, tell what? Breathe. I'm like, I am

like,

and then someone's like, smell.

And I breathe in and you smell this

fragrance. I'm like, "Wow, that's

amazing." Now, I'm going to be honest

with you. I thought, "Wow, that's

amazing." And then I begin to look

around the room to see where's the smell

coming from. I see the flowers over

there and I'm like, "Ah, someone bought

in flowers." And uh I'm looking at the

flowers and straight away one of the

people in circle goes, "They're

artificial." I'm like, "Okay, okay." So

they're in this little circle and then I

begin to walk. I'm just like, "Oh,

that's interesting." I just begin to

walk through the auditorium and then all

of a sudden I'm like, "Wow, it's here as

well." And then people that we group

begin to walk through and for about an

hour this fragrance just manifests

itself. And the crazy thing was it was

almost like it was on us. It was like

just as we moved it would get stirred

up. And so, um, I was like, man, how

what amazing this Sunday that I received

the prophetic word that something's

going to shift after having to make this

difficult statement, this physical

manifestation of the spirit of God. It

was just so supernatural. So, what

happens is after about an hour, we go

home. That night, we're meeting at

church to drive down to Invagle to hear

the guest speaker from the conference.

So, we meet at church and we're all

standing there and we're like, I wonder

if the fragrance is here. We're kind of

walking through and it's like, oh, I'm

not really. And then someone's like, oh,

I might get a slight whiff of it. And

you're like, I don't think so, Sally.

You're just trying. It's like, not sure.

And then we walk and we're like, okay,

let's go. And I'll always remember we

open the door. And I know Pentecost says

a rushing wind came. The closest I've

ever experienced to that was at this

moment in Alexandria. And it wasn't a

rushing wind, but it was like a gentle

breeze that as we opened the door, this

fragrance manifest and just blew out

into the community.

I was like, "Wow." And then we drove to

Invocakle.

And it's always good to have the

presence of God if you've got to go to

Invagle.

Um,

and every about 20 minutes it would be

like there it is again. His presence

would just uh waft up again. Now

I don't tell that story because

we

because it's about fragrances like we

didn't change our name to Alexandra Elim

Church of the Fragrance or anything like

that. But what was amazing was there was

a group of people and it seemed like the

fragrance rested on the people and then

when the door was opened it was like

that wants to get out. It wants to be

not contained in a church meeting. This

presence of God isn't just for church

meetings. His presence is actually

available for his children on a

dayto-day basis. Yes, we should have the

presence of God in church meetings, but

that should be to remind us that we

carry him every day, that we walk in the

reality of the presence of God. This

morning, I want to tell you the presence

and Holy Spirit is more available

than we often realize.

And maybe Jesus is wanting to redirect

our focus like he had to for the

disciples. Would you turn and focus on

this?

The spirit is available,

but the spirit must also be prioritized.

I'm just going to ask Isaiah to come and

he's going to uh play some keys. And um

the way we're going to end this morning

is uh maybe not quite how you would

expect to um

end a Pentecost Sunday service. What I

am going to do is we are going to open

the altar, but I'm going to o open the

altar this morning for for you. If

you're here this morning and you feel

like, man, I don't think I'm someone

that carries the presence of God. If

you're like, I don't know if I've

received the gift of the spirit, man, we

would love to pray for you this morning

just to release the goodness of God over

you. Now, I believe all of us should be

hungry for more of the spirit. So

there'll be hopefully more than just

those number of people who are going to

respond who will be stirred because I

think we should all be stirred like you

know it tells us Jesus when he taught

them how to pray he said ask keep on and

the thing is ask keep on asking knock

keep on knocking seek keep on seeking

for how much more will the father give

the holy spirit to those who ask him so

we don't just ask once we should ask

many times to be filled with the spirit.

Often what we need to remember though is

we're just asking ourselves to be made

aware of the reality of what is it has

happened but we are saying my dependence

is on your filling. So this morning,

what we're going to do is pray for

people who maybe feel, and I realize it

might be a bold step to say, "Hey, I'm

going to come out and say, I don't know

if I trust that I really receive the

spirit, or I've believed a lie that that

I'm the person who can't receive the

Holy Spirit." Can I tell you, if you if

you believe you're the person who can't

re receive the Holy Spirit, let me tell

you something. You're actually not that

special

because that would make you the one

child of God that couldn't receive.

You're you're actually not that special.

It's for everyone.

And so, if that's you this morning, I'm

going to pray and then uh we'll close

the service there and the altar is going

to be open for that. But I hope there

are some other people who are hungry to

receive more of the spirit. And if

that's you, the good news is we have a

Pentecost prayer meeting tonight where

we're going to lay hands on people where

we're going to, oh, I wasn't going to

come out tonight. Well, maybe you should

make it a priority. Maybe your focus

would be redirected. Maybe yes, it might

be difficult cuz the kids lunches have

to be made and those kind of things, but

for a moment, maybe just to say, "Hey,

I'll pause. I'll sacrifice that. I'll

I'll give up my Sunday night beauty

routine. I'll do whatever to come into

the presence of God believing that God

wants to touch and fill me aresh. Can we

all just stand to our feet?

Holy Spirit, I thank you that you

are a good gift from the father.

And Lord, I do bless each person who

maybe

has had an experience that would make

them wonder, is it safe? And is the Holy

Spirit a good gift?

And Lord, you addressed that when you

spoke and said

that the father only has good gifts to

give. So Lord, I bless each person who's

had an element of trauma in this area.

Lord, I bless them to be healed in the

name of Jesus through the power of the

Holy Spirit. And Lord, I pray that um

Lord, you would journey with them into a

place where they would realize

they can be filled with you.

And Lord, I bless each one of us here.

Father,

Holy Spirit, we just pray for an

authentic move of you.

Lord, we repent of times where we've

made it about men, where we've made it

about different things.

Lord, we don't want anything

manufactured,

but Lord, we do want to be hungry and

available to encounter you. So Lord, I

pray you would do something in us that

would make us a company of people who

would burn with the power of the Holy

Spirit.

Not just in church meetings, but Lord,

every day that we would be aware

that Lord, you spent 40 days appearing

randomly and then you gave a promise

that they would no longer have to wait

to receive you, but that we could walk

with you every day. Lord, would you help

that to be our reality in Jesus mighty

name? Amen. Amen. Hey, we're going to

finish the service there and what we're

going to do is just open the altar. So,

if if that uh uh speaks to you this

morning where you're like, man, I just

don't know. Maybe something's happened

or maybe I'm just not sure if it's

really me. We would love to pray with

you this morning to release the gift of

the father over your life. Uh apart from

that, if you're new, we'd love to see

you in the connect area and we'll see

many of you at Pentecost uh prayer

tonight. But can I encourage you, man,

if that is you? It might take boldness,

but just that response of saying, "Lord,

I need more of you in Jesus name." Amen.
