  10. for your name.

  11. I give my life forever.

  12. Forever because of your love. There's

  13. air in my lungs. There's hope on my

  14. tongue. I can't get enough. Because of

  28. I feel it inside. You open my eyes, I'm

  29. coming alive. Because of your love, God.

  30. Because of your love. Oh,

  31. >> he's coming.

  32. We know that he's coming back. We know

  33. that he's coming back. We know that he's

  34. coming back.

  35. >> Have you ever thought that the world has

  36. kind of lost it?

  37. Yeah.

  38. Crazy as it seems. Yeah. I know it's

  39. going to be okay.

  40. Okay.

  41. >> It doesn't scare me. It's temporary.

  42. There's something better we've got

  43. forever.

  44. >> And it won't be long cuz I know our hope

  45. is on the way.

  46. >> So keep your head up.

  47. Jesus is coming back. Jesus is coming

  48. back. No, don't give up.

  49. >> Jesus is coming back. Jesus is coming

  50. back. And when the world gets

  51. complicated,

  52. we're going to keep on cuz

  53. like he told us. It's been a long wait,

  54. but there's a new day and we're going to

  55. sing hallelujah when the king arrives.

  56. Oh, you know you got to keep your head

  57. up.

  58. Jesus is coming back. Jesus is coming

  59. back. Now don't you give up now. I know.

  60. Jesus is coming back. Jesus is coming

  61. back. And when the world gets

  62. complicated,

  63. we're going to keep on cating

  64. cuz we know

  65. we know Jesus is coming back. Jesus is

  66. coming back.

  67. Are you ready? Are you ready? People get

  68. ready. People get ready. Are you ready?

  69. Are you ready? People get ready. People

  70. get ready. Are you ready? Are you ready?

  71. People get ready. Yeah. Let's get ready.

  72. Jesus is coming back. Jesus is coming

  73. back. No, don't you give back.

  74. Jesus is coming back. Jesus is coming

  75. back. And when the world gets

  76. complicated,

  77. we're going to keep on cating.

  78. Yeah, we know Jesus is coming back.

  79. Jesus is coming back. Are you ready now?

  80. Are you ready now? Yeah.

  81. >> We just want to celebrate it.

  82. >> Are you ready? Jesus is coming back.

  83. Jesus is coming back.

  84. >> So keep your head up.

  85. >> Jesus is coming back. Jesus is coming

  86. back.

  87. Yeah, everybody hurt. Sometimes I know

  88. that's what they say. But right now it

  89. seems this loneliness will go away.

  90. Can anybody feel this heartache?

  91. Is anyone around? Feels like we're

  92. running around in circles. We can't

  93. catch your breath. We can't enjoy the

  94. moment when we always want what's next.

  95. day. Just when I can't take no more,

  96. it's when I hear you say, "Don't hang

  97. your head when you get lonely.

  98. I know I'll never leave your side." And

  99. don't go thinking you're the only

  100. one that can get it right.

  101. Yeah. You got my love, love, love down

  102. in your soul. Yeah, you got my love,

  103. love, love. And I won't let you go.

  104. I know there'shere I can run.

  105. There'shere I can hide from the one who

  106. gave his life so I could get back mine.

  107. So when you can't take no more, look up

  108. and hear him say,

  109. >> "Don't hang your head when you get

  110. lonely."

  111. I know I'll never leave your side. And

  112. don't go thinking you're the only

  113. one that can get it right.

  114. Yeah, you got my love, love, love, love

  115. down in your soul. Yeah, you got my

  116. love.

  117. And I won't let you go.

  118. >> When you go in that door, I'm right

  119. there with you. When you're hurting and

  120. sore, I'm massaging that. I'm resolving

  121. that is I'm miss.

  122. Blow the trumpet. Come get

  123. you only son and he gets to the

  124. >> I think this deeper than the we

  125. get lonely. Sing to me too.

  126. >> Don't hang your head when you get your

  127. head when you get down. I'll never leave

  128. your side.

  129. >> I never think you're the only

  130. one that can get it right.

  131. Yeah. You got my love

  132. and I won't let you let you go.

  133. Yeah.

  134. >> Made a fool of me once or twice, three

  135. times. Never left my side. Walked

  136. through my valley, burned in my pride.

  137. Never left my side. You made everything.

  138. Can't run, can't hide. All f your love

  139. stands. Never left my side.

  140. the future is brighter. I believe in his

  141. promise for me. I believe that he's

  142. working and he's not done. The best

  143. is yet to come. I know he makes the

  144. courageous.

  145. I know he makes the doubters.

  146. I know he won't stop working cuz he's

  147. not done. The best, the best is yet to

  148. come. I've got this in my soul.

  149. I know you won't let me

  150. in. I've just begun. The best is yet to

  151. come.

  152. I believe that he gives second chances.

  153. I believe he works all things for good.

  154. I believe that he's working and he's not

  155. done. The best, the best is yet to come.

  180. I believe you're

  181. just

  182. on this journey. I get lost in my

  183. mistakes.

  184. What looks to me like weakness is a

  185. canvas for your strength. And my story

  186. isn't over. My story's just begun.

  187. And failure won't define me cuz that's

  188. what my father does. Yeah. Failure won't

  189. define me cuz that's what my father

  190. does.

  191. and lay your burdens down

  192. here in the father's house. Check your

  193. shame at the door cuz it ain't welcome

  194. anymore.

  195. You're in the father's house.

  196. Arrival's not the end game. The journey

  197. is where you are.

  198. You never want it perfect. You just

  199. wanted my heart.

  200. And the story isn't over if the story

  201. isn't good.

  202. And failures never final when the

  203. father's in the room.

  535. um and fellowship. So, yeah, there's a

  536. few notices, few things coming up. Um

  537. yeah, all of those things QR code, sign

  538. up to those and be a part, man. Awesome.

  539. Before we get into communion, uh we just

  540. enter our time of giving. Um thank you

  541. to everyone that does give into the

  542. house. Um we just had a great uh three

  543. days, last three days here at um our

  544. youth leaders conference um 2026. So it

  545. was amazing. We had 120 youth leaders

  546. come from uh all around the oxygen's all

  547. around um come and fellowship and be

  548. encouraged and level up as as leaders

  549. and um disciple is that a word of young

  550. people. Uh so yeah, we're able to do

  551. that because of what you guys give. Um

  552. so thank you to everyone. The four ways

  553. to give on the screen uh are up there.

  554. But Lord, we thank you for everything

  555. that's been given in the house. Lord,

  556. thank you for the ways that you uh use

  557. it to grow your kingdom, Lord. That

  558. we're able to have things like youth

  559. leaders conference, Lord, and

  560. functioning ministries uh in different

  561. areas of church. We just give you glory,

  562. Lord. Um continue in your work, Lord. We

  563. just want to grow your kingdom in Jesus

  564. name. Amen. Awesome. Hey, uh we're going

  565. to invite Hannah up now. Families, uh

  566. children are invited to stay in for this

  567. communion. Um, and if you didn't get get

  568. a communion emblem on your way in, could

  569. you just raise your hand and we'll have

  570. some of the ushers uh come around and

  571. deliver those to you. Thank you.

  572. >> Good morning, church family. How are we

  573. today?

  574. >> All right. If you don't know me, my

  575. name's Hannah. Um, or as my kids know

  576. me, Hannah P, because we have two

  577. Hannah's in Power Zone. Um, and I'm the

  578. kids pastor here. And can I get a shout

  579. out to all of my Power Zone kids? Are

  580. you here? Can I raise some noise in this

  581. house?

  582. >> Thanks, Seth.

  583. All right. If you have your Bibles

  584. today, I want you to turn to Luke 22:14.

    Luke 22:14

  585. This is the um Passover meal that Jesus

  586. shared with his disciples before he was

  587. crucified.

  588. We're going to read from verse 14 to 20.

  589. When the time came, Jesus and the

  590. apostles sat down together at the table.

  591. Jesus said, "I have been very eager to

  592. eat this Passover meal with you before

  593. my suffering begins. For I tell you now

  594. that I won't eat this meal again until

  595. the meaning is fulfilled in the kingdom

  596. of God."

  597. Then he took the cup of wine and gave

  598. thanks to it to God for it. Then he

  599. said, "Take this and share it among

  600. yourselves, for I will not drink wine

  601. again until the kingdom of God has come.

  602. Then he took some bread and gave thanks

  603. to God for it. He broke it into pieces

  604. and gave it to the disciples saying,

  605. "This is my body which is given for you.

  606. Do this in remembrance of me." When we

  607. think about communion, we often

  608. naturally focus on the bread and the

  609. wine. And rightly so. They remind us of

  610. the body that was broken for us and the

  611. blood that was poured out for us. But

  612. today, I want us to focus on something

  613. slightly different.

  614. I want us to focus on when this moment

  615. takes place.

  616. It's not in a courtroom. It's not on a

  617. battlefield. It's not in a temple. It's

  618. not in a schoolyard. It's at a table. A

  619. table is where families gather. It's

  620. where people show, slow down, share

  621. stories, laugh, and simply enjoying

  622. being in each other's presence. I know

  623. for my family, it's a place that is

  624. safe, where you can be your true self.

  625. Throughout scripture, the table

  626. represents fellowship, belonging, and

  627. relationship. And I don't think that's

  628. accidental.

  629. As Jesus sits with his disciples, he

  630. knows what's about to happen. He knows

  631. Judas Judas will betray him. He knows

  632. Peter will deny him. And he knows the

  633. others will flee from him.

  634. Yet he doesn't push them away or shame

  635. them. He invites them closer.

  636. In verse 15, Jesus says,"I have been

  637. very eager to eat this Passover meal."

  638. In other versions, it says, "I have

  639. eagerly desired." And I love that. It

  640. reveals the heart of God.

  641. Before Jesus endured the cross, before

  642. his body was broken and his blood poured

  643. out, Jesus's desire was to spend time

  644. with the people he loved.

  645. And that desire reveals something about

  646. the heart of God. He has always wanted a

  647. relationship with his children.

  648. from the garden of Eden to the inner

  649. room and now through Christ we see a

  650. father who continuously

  651. moves towards his children inviting them

  652. into fellowship with him.

  653. Sometimes we reduce the gospel to Jesus

  654. died so I could be forgiven.

  655. And although that is so true,

  656. forgiveness was never the final

  657. destination.

  658. It was the doorway.

  659. The father's goal has always been

  660. relationship.

  661. The cross didn't simply remove our sin.

  662. It removed every single barrier that

  663. kept us from coming home.

  664. The cross wasn't about forgiveness. It

  665. was about adoption as well.

  666. In Romans 8:15-16, Paul says, "So you

    Romans 8:15–16

  667. have not received a spirit that makes

  668. you a fearful slaves. Instead, you

  669. received God's spirit when he adopted

  670. you as his own children." Now, we call

  671. him Abba Father, for his spirit joins

  672. with our spirit to affirm that we are

  673. God's children. And I love that Jesus

  674. didn't simply die so that we could be

  675. forgiven.

  676. He died so that we could become beloved

  677. sons and daughters adopted into his

  678. family.

  679. When he took the bread, he was saying,

  680. "This is my body given for you.

  681. I am giving everything

  682. so that you could belong."

  683. When he lifted the cup and spoke of the

  684. new covenant in his blood, he was

  685. establishing a relationship that could

  686. never again be based upon our own

  687. striving, performance, our ability to

  688. get everything right. Cuz let's face it,

  689. we always fall short.

  690. Our identity is no longer built on our

  691. performance, our failures or successes,

  692. or what other people think about us.

  693. Our identity is found in whose we are.

  694. We are children of the father and

  695. because of Jesus, we don't approach God

  696. with a spirit of fear, wondering if

  697. we've done enough.

  698. And that's what makes communion so

  699. beautiful. We don't come to the table

  700. trying to earn our seat because Jesus

  701. has already prepared one for us. We

  702. don't come as servants hoping we've done

  703. enough.

  704. We come with confidence of the sons and

  705. daughters that we who know they are

  706. loved.

  707. I wonder if that's what some of us need

  708. to remember today. Maybe you've had a

  709. week where you felt like you've fallen

  710. short. Maybe you've been carrying shame.

  711. Maybe you've been questioning your worth

  712. or wondering if God is growing distant.

  713. Communion is a great way to gently

  714. remind us that the father has never

  715. stopped pursuing us.

  716. His fa heart heart has always been for

  717. relationship.

  718. Jesus didn't say fix yourself and come.

  719. He said, "Take and eat." He knew exactly

  720. who was sitting around that table. Yet,

  721. he still offered himself. And that's the

  722. kind of father we have. A father who

  723. runs towards prodals. A father who

  724. restores identity and who delights in

  725. calling us his own.

  726. As we take communion today, let's do

  727. more than remember the cross.

  728. Let's remember that we are chosen,

  729. forgiven, welcomed, and sons of

  730. daughters because of what Christ has

  731. done. The table isn't just a place of

  732. remembrance. It's a place of belonging.

  733. And today, we're going to do something

  734. slightly different. And because we're

  735. all family here and our children are

  736. still with us, we're going to break into

  737. small groups of those sitting around us

  738. and spend the next 30 seconds just

  739. praying together, thanking Jesus for his

  740. sacrifice. Thanking the father for

  741. adopting us into his family and praying

  742. that each person would know not just in

  743. their minds but in their hearts how

  744. truly and fully known and loved they

  745. are.

  746. When you're all ready, please stand with

  747. us as we enter into a time of worship to

  748. Almighty God this morning.

  749. into the

  750. spirit of God.

  751. All authority.

  752. I pray over my heart and might.

  753. I am healed by your stripes. Your blood

  754. declares that I am free. In the mighty

  755. name of Jesus

  756. I pray.

  757. Calling on the power of heaven

  758. I proclaim.

  759. Every weapon formed against me

  760. must break

  761. in the mighty name of Jesus.

  762. I draw a permanent boundary line.

  763. The enemy has no right to come

  764. near my family.

  765. No scheme could ever undo God's plans.

  766. No matter the circumstance across

  767. seal my destiny

  768. in the mighty name of Jesus

  769. I pray

  770. calling on the power of heaven.

  771. I proclaim

  772. that every weapon formed against me

  773. must pray

  774. in the mighty name of Jesus.

  775. In the mighty name of Jesus,

  776. I know

  777. all the power of fear and darkness

  778. must go. Cuz every key to every victory

  779. I hold

  780. in the mighty name of Jesus.

  781. In the mighty name of Jesus.

  782. I know

  783. every power of fear and toughness.

  784. Every weapon formed against me

  785. must break

  786. in the mighty name of Jesus.

  787. >> Name of Jesus.

  788. I know

  789. for the power of fear and darkness

  790. must go.

  791. every

  792. victory.

  793. Our hope

  794. is in the mighty name of Jesus.

  795. I will love him. I will not fear when

  796. the enemy comes near on the door frame

  797. of my life. It's the blood of Jesus

  798. Christ. I will not fear. I will not

  799. fear. There's an army of angels here.

  800. I'm protected on all sides by the blood

  801. of Jesus Christ. And I will not fear. I

  802. will not fear when the enemy comes near.

  803. On the door frame of my life is the

  804. blood of Jesus Christ. And I will not

  805. fear. I will not fear. There's a glory

  806. of angels here. I'm protected on all

  807. sides by the blood of Jesus Christ. I

  808. will not fear. I will not fear

  809. all

  810. near the door of my life is the blood of

  811. Jesus Christ. I will not fear. I will

  812. not fear. There's an army of angels

  813. here. I'm protected on all sides by the

  814. blood of Jesus Christ.

  815. In the mighty name of Jesus,

  816. I pray

  817. calling on the power of heaven.

  818. I proclaim

  819. that every weapon formed against me

  820. must pray

  821. in the mighty name of Jesus.

  822. In the mighty name of Jesus,

  823. I know

  824. all the power of fear and darkness

  825. must go. Cuz every key to every victory

  826. I'm home

  827. in the mighty name of Jesus.

  828. In the mighty name of Jesus.

  829. coming.

  830. Jesus,

  831. Jesus.

  832. I am an instrument

  833. of exaltation

  834. and I was born to lift your name above

  835. all names.

  836. You hear the melody

  837. of all creation,

  838. but there's a song of praise that only I

  839. can bring.

  840. Who else is worthy?

  841. There is no one,

  842. only you, Jesus.

  843. Who else is worthy?

  844. There is no one. Only you, Jesus.

  845. You are the infinite

  846. God of the aes.

  847. Yet you chose to make my heart your

  848. dwelling place.

  849. You healed my brokenness.

  850. Showed me your glory.

  851. So I have songs of thanks. Not even

  852. angels sing. Who else is worthy?

  853. Who else is worthy?

  854. There is no one.

  855. Only you Jesus.

  856. Who else is worthy?

  857. There is no one.

  858. Only you, Jesus.

  859. Who else is worthy?

  860. There is no one,

  861. only you, Jesus.

  862. Who else is worthy?

  863. >> There is no one.

  864. Only you, Jesus.

  865. >> You're worthy, Lord.

  866. Jesus, you're worthy.

  867. You're worthy, Father.

  868. We praise you this morning.

  869. Jesus, you're worthy.

  870. Where

  873. is and is to come, seated on the throne

  874. above, holy,

  876. rightous one who shed his blood. You

  877. prove to us the father's love. Jesus

  878. Christ be lifted up. Holy,

  894. Christ be lifted up.

  895. Who else is worthy?

  896. There is no one

  897. only in Jesus.

  898. >> Who else is worthy?

  899. >> There is no one

  900. only you Jesus.

  901. Who else is worthy?

  902. There is no one

  903. only you Jesus

  904. who else is worthy.

  905. >> Even when I don't feel it, you're

  906. worthy, Lord. You're worthy, Jesus.

  907. >> Even when I get out of the wrong side of

  908. the bed, you're worthy, Lord.

  909. >> Even when I struggle with addiction,

  910. you're worthy, Lord.

  911. >> Even though I haven't had my healing

  912. yet, you're still worthy, Lord. There is

  913. no

  914. >> when something goes wrong in my life,

  915. you're still gone.

  916. >> You're still worthy this morning. Lord

  917. Jesus,

  918. >> come on. He's worthy.

  919. >> No matter what is going on, lift up his

  920. name because he is worthy. He's a name

  921. above every name. He's the alpha omega,

  922. the beginning and the end. He is in

  923. control this morning. And he loves you

  924. and he has purpose for your life. And

  925. even when you struggle, he loves you

  926. still and he's still with you. Holy

  927. Spirit is beside you this morning.

  928. >> Who else is worthy? Come on, lift your

  929. voice this morning. Who else is worthy?

  930. >> There is no one

  931. only you Jesus. Declare it of your Lord.

  932. Else is worthy.

  933. Who else is worthy?

  934. There is no one

  935. only you Jesus.

  936. >> Lamb of God anointed one who was and is

  937. and is to come. Seated on the throne

  938. above. Holy,

  964. Oh, your mercy never fails me.

  965. All my days

  966. I've been held in your hands.

  967. From the moment that awake

  968. until I lay my head,

  969. I will sing

  970. of the goodness

  971. of God.

  972. And all my life you have been faithful.

  973. All my life you have been so so good.

  974. >> Every breath that I am able

  975. I will sing

  976. of the goodness

  977. of God.

  978. I love your voice.

  979. You have led me through the fire.

  980. In darkest nights,

  981. you were close like no other.

  982. I've known you as a father.

  983. I've known you as a friend

  984. and I have lived in the goodness

  985. of God

  986. all my life.

  987. And all my life you have been faithful.

  988. And all my life you have been so so

  989. good.

  990. With every breath that I am able.

  991. Oh, I will sing

  992. of the goodness

  993. of God.

  994. All my life

  995. and all my life you have been faithful.

  996. And all my life you have been so so

  997. good.

  998. With every breath that I am able.

  999. Oh, I will sing

  1000. of the goodness

  1001. of God.

  1002. Jesus,

1003. your goodness is running after. It's

  1004. running after me.

1005. Your goodness is running after. It's

  1006. running after me.

1007. With my life laid down, I surrender now.

  1008. I give you everything.

1009. Your goodness is running after. It's

  1010. running after me.

1011. Your goodness is running after. It's

  1012. running after me.

1013. Your goodness is running after. It's

  1014. running after me.

1015. With my life laid down, I surrender now.

  1016. I give you everything.

1017. Your goodness is running after. It's

  1018. running after me.

1019. >> All my life you have been faithful.

1020. >> All my life you have been so so good.

1021. With every breath that I am able.

  1022. >> Oh, I will sing

  1023. of the goodness

  1024. of God.

1025. Oh, I will sing of the goodness

  1026. of God.

  1027. >> Oh, I will sing

  1028. of the goodness

  1029. of God.

1030. >> Yes, Lord. We thank you for your

  1031. goodness, Lord.

1032. And Lord, we thank you that

1033. Lord, we live in your goodness. And

1034. Lord, even uh when we're unsure of

1035. what's next and where we are, Lord,

1036. thank you that you are so good to us.

1037. Lord, I pray where maybe we have allowed

1038. things to cover our vision of your

1039. goodness. Lord, I pray that those scales

1040. would fall off eyes even now in the name

1041. of Jesus. And if you're in a season

1042. where you've just really struggled even

1043. as with what uh Jeff led us and where

1044. maybe just something's caused you to

1045. really uh just have maybe an attitude

1046. that you're struggling to see the

1047. goodness of God. Then right now I just

1048. release a grace that scales would fall

1049. off eyes in the name of Jesus. that

1050. there would be a fresh picture for you

1051. of just how good Jesus is. Lord, would

1052. you heal our hearts and our minds of of

1053. improper pictures of you, Lord? We thank

1054. you for your goodness. We love you this

1055. morning in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

1056. Amen. Awesome. You can grab a seat.

1057. Hey, as we uh said last week and um

1058. asked people to pray, we've had um a few

1059. youth leaders from around the country

1060. gathering in Tonga. I think maybe about

1061. 120 in total. Was there Brody? Uh youth

1062. leaders from around the country uh uh

1063. gathering uh here uh just to seek God

1064. together and learn. So I've asked Pastor

1065. Brody if you'll come share a couple of

1066. uh highlights of what's happened. Why

1067. don't we give Pastor Brody a huge

  1068. welcome as he comes.

  1069. Yeah, boy.

1070. >> So good. Yeah. Uh like Aaron mentioned,

1071. we just ran our youth leaders conference

1072. uh Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and uh an

1073. epic turnout. We had people from the

1074. South Island. Uh we even had people from

1075. Wellington that still have hung around

1076. and can't get rid of actually. Second

1077. row over there, come home, please. We

1078. love you. We miss you. Um but it was

1079. incredible uh few days together. Um what

1080. was real cool is just uh on Friday the

1081. Friday night uh man the presence of God

1082. was just so evident in this room and we

1083. started at 7 and I think we finished at

1084. like 10:30 people just wanting to

1085. worship and I still believe like people

1086. would have just stayed even up until now

1087. worshiping God just because the presence

1088. of God was in this place and we've just

1089. had some testimonies coming back where

1090. there's been youth pastors and youth

1091. leaders that have felt like quitting

1092. felt like giving up and they really felt

1093. like God just reminded them in this

1094. season to keep going to keep pressing

1095. Then um we had people uh mention that

1096. they uh haven't slept well for like

1097. months and they came in and during

1098. conference was the first time in months

1099. that they've experienced good sleep. Um

1100. we had other uh we had like one youth

1101. leader come in and she was like I can't

1102. believe it. Like I had this encounter

1103. with God when I was 16 and I'm turning

1104. 40 this year and that was the last time

1105. that I really felt like an encounter

1106. with the Lord. And on Friday night I

1107. encountered God like I was at youth camp

1108. again. And so, um, the presence of God

1109. was just in this place, but the whole

1110. hope and heart behind it, I felt like a

1111. year ago, God just placed on my heart. I

1112. mean, I love young people and I love

1113. seeing what God's doing here. Um, and I

1114. love hearing what God's doing across the

1115. nation. But I just really sensed and

1116. felt, man, we can level up. We can

1117. become better youth leaders. Um, we can

1118. be become better disciple makers. And

1119. so, the whole hope and heart of it was

1120. that we would come gather together, that

1121. would be encouraged with what God's

1122. doing across the nation, but that we

1123. would leave better together. And I just

1124. really believe like people have taken

1125. practical schools whether they have five

1126. kids in the youth ministry or 200 kids.

1127. Um every single person seemed to have

1128. been really encouraged this last week.

1129. Um and so yeah, that's pretty much what

1130. happened. That's what took place. Thank

1131. you for those that came and served and

1132. helped out and thank you for those that

1133. were praying behind the scenes, too. Um

1134. even myself as youth pastor, I felt

1135. super refreshed and recharged and

1136. reminded of the call of God on my life

1137. to keep going again. So, um, no promises

1138. that I'll stay for 10 more years, but

  1139. who knows? Bless you.

1140. >> So, you can just pray those golden

1141. heavenly handcuffs over Pastor Brody

1142. that he uh stays in Jesus' name. How

1143. good. Um, how many people are grateful

  1144. for Pastor Brody? Eh,

  1145. >> yeah.

1146. >> Um, you know, I do really want to honor

1147. um honor Brody. Uh the reason why so

1148. many people gathered is because of what

1149. God is doing uh here. And it is a move

1150. of God. It's not a move of Pastor Brody,

1151. but he's stewarding it so well with him

1152. and his team. And so um yeah, we just

1153. really honor what uh what God is doing

1154. um amongst our young people. So grateful

1155. to see uh just God moving in that way uh

1156. in so many lives. And um

1157. you want to know what I'm doing right

  1158. now?

  1159. Got to be honest.

1160. Elijah is at the uh national cubing

1161. champs right now and he is about to find

1162. out whether he got through to the second

1163. round or not. So I'm just checking the

1164. live updates to see uh he hasn't gone

1165. yet. It's okay. We might get an update

1166. towards the end of the message. So, um,

  1167. uh,

1168. he, uh, got through to the second round

1169. and he was the 44th fastest and you got

1170. to make the top 32 to get through to the

1171. semis. So, he he he's a bit of a chance,

1172. but uh, uh, so um, anyway, you're should

1173. we, uh, gather around the word of God,

1174. Holy Spirit, come back. Thank you,

  1175. Jesus. Shand Bakidia. Um,

  1176. Stop laughing, Bry.

1177. Awesome. Hey, uh this morning I really

1178. want to talk a little bit and actually

1179. me checking uh Elijah's scores is kind

1180. of okay because this morning we're going

1181. to talk on a part of who we are to be as

1182. a church which is we are to be a church

1183. of a multi- uh generational church. And

1184. so we have these three words, prayer,

1185. presence, mission on the wall. And

1186. really the way we would frame up who we

1187. are as a church is we are a

  1188. multi-generational

1189. church pursuing Jesus through prayer,

1190. presence, and mission. We are a

  1191. multi-generational church that's

1192. pursuing Jesus through prayer, presence,

1193. and mission. And uh what's interesting

1194. is the enemy has a plan to divide

1195. generations. The enemy has a plan that

1196. generations would be divided. And we

1197. live in a world that seeks to divide

1198. generations. And uh as that great Mike

1199. in the Mechanic song says, every

1200. generation blames the one before. And

1201. it's kind of like the the the nature of

1202. uh generations is that every generation

1203. blames the one before and then every

1204. other generation above often uh in the

1205. world scolds the generation below. It's

1206. like, well, look at them. They're just

1207. into this. And it's like, well, no

1208. wonder we're into this. We can't afford

1209. a house cuz you guys bought them all

1210. cheap and now you're selling them

1211. expensive. Well, no wonder you can't

1212. afford a house. You buy avocado on

1213. toast. We never did that in my day. And

1214. so we have this cultural narrative that

1215. goes on that is designed to uh divide

1216. the generations. But I believe the Lord

  1217. is after a multi-generational

  1218. revival.

1219. >> And sometimes in churches when we've

1220. heard that, what that kind of gets

1221. interpreted is we're just all about

1222. young people. Can I tell you we're about

1223. young people, but we're about every

1224. generation. We're not after just one

1225. generation. We believe we need every

1226. generation on fire for Jesus, honoring

1227. one another. And so, it's a huge deal

1228. for us as a church. And so this morning

1229. is going to be probably just a recap of

1230. a few thoughts that I have. Many of them

1231. I've shared here before, but it is

1232. something that we just need to have in

1233. our DNA as a church because it is

1234. central to who we are. And can I say if

  1235. you're here and you're like, "Well, I

1236. don't really like the other

1237. generations." This probably isn't going

1238. to be a great church for you. If you're

1239. here and you're young and you're like,

1240. "Uh, don't really like coming to church

1241. where there's old people." Well, sorry.

1242. Like, maybe there'll be a church where

1243. they focus on young people. Ah, those

1244. young people. This probably isn't going

1245. to be the place for you. You might

1246. struggle here a little bit because man,

1247. we believe we need every generation

1248. honored, represented, and we believe

1249. that there is a momentum of God that we

1250. get the privilege of laying a platform

1251. that generations can come after and they

1252. can walk on the floor that we had as a

1253. ceiling that it is actually the

1254. privilege and it is the nature of a

1255. generation to want the next generation

1256. to exceed what they did. We we we we

1257. shouldn't be threatened. We should

1258. actually view have an inheritance

1259. mindset that says we want each

1260. generation to go to another level beyond

  1261. what we did.

1262. Should we turn to some scripture seeing

1263. how we've done cubing? And uh if you've

1264. got your Bible, you can start at the

1265. very beginning. Genesis chapter 1.

    Genesis 1 chapter mention

1266. Sorry, I just need to get off my cubing

1267. results and back into my notes. So, just

  1268. give me a second.

  1269. I was even disciplined I didn't look at

1270. them. Didn't even hit refresh.

1271. Notes are coming. It's good.

1272. Turn to your neighbor and say hi.

  1273. Okay, Genesis 1:28.

    Genesis 1:28

1274. So, we have mankind created and then the

1275. first thing that happens is it says that

  1276. God blessed them.

  1277. I don't know if you've ever noticed like

1278. church talks a lot about blessing and

1279. Christian language is often like God

1280. bless you brother. God bless you. Hey

1281. bless you. Bless you. Bless you. I don't

1282. know how many times I say bless you a

1283. week but I would suggest it might be

1284. well in the hundreds like hey God bless.

1285. God bless. God bless. Um it's a great

1286. prayer when you don't have words

  1287. anymore. Like when you're fried you're

1288. like bless you bless you. Bless you.

1289. It's like a great prayer. But the very

1290. first act of God towards humanity was to

  1291. bless them.

  1292. God blessed them.

1293. And so we understand part of the reason

1294. why we always say bless you. God bless

1295. you is because it was something in our

1296. fabric that the very first human

1297. experience was actually being blessed by

  1298. God.

1299. The original human experience was being

1300. blessed by God. Isn't that an awesome

1301. thing? Some people say, "Oh, that church

1302. just wants to be a bless me club." Well,

  1303. of course.

  1304. I mean, we don't ignore that there's

1305. struggles in life that there are things

1306. that does everything go perfect. Of

1307. course not. But people like, "Oh, yeah.

1308. They just want to be blessed." Well,

  1309. what's the opposite? I certainly don't

1310. want to be cursed. I can tell you that.

1311. Like so God blessed them in the original

1312. and in that moment he set a momentum

1313. that the church and the kingdom and the

1314. people of God would be the ultimate

1315. bless me club. God would you bless me.

1316. So God blessed them. It is the nature of

1317. our father to bless them. But this is

1318. what he then says next. He said be

1319. fruitful and m multiply. Fill the earth

1320. and subdue it and have dominion over the

1321. fish of the sea. Oh come on. especially

  1322. kingfish

  1323. and over the birds

1324. of the heavens and over every living

1325. thing that moves including wagoo beef. I

1326. reckon that's a little bit of creative

1327. interpretation. But what happens is God

  1328. blesses them

1329. and then he actually releases them a

1330. mandate that is only going to be

  1331. fulfilled through multigenerations.

1332. So he actually blesses them and then he

1333. says multiply and that actually is

1334. literally saying hey I blessed you now

1335. you are going to have generations

1336. like you're blessed and now there will

1337. be generations that will come forth from

  1338. you

  1339. and it's interesting because I think

1340. it's part of the vehicle it's one of the

1341. vehicles of blessing because here's the

1342. thing about being blessed. When God

1343. blesses you, it is never just for you.

1344. It's far more like a river than a lake.

1345. It's not a lake where you just take the

1346. blessing and go, "Wow, I'm blessed now."

1347. No, it's actually a river that was to

1348. flow through. So, even in the nature of

1349. God blessing them. He could not bless

1350. them outside of also giving them a

1351. commission that there were going to be

1352. other people because that blessing had

1353. to have a place to flow. The blessing

1354. had to have a place to flow to others.

1355. You see, I think sometimes when people

1356. say, "Oh, you're just a bless me club."

1357. They mean you're you're just after the

1358. blessing for yourself rather than a

1359. blessing that would flow through

  1360. generations.

1361. And we are to be a people of blessing

1362. that flows through generations. It is

1363. the nature of blessing to be a river,

  1364. not a lake.

1365. God blessed them. And then we see we go

1366. on to Abraham and we see his call before

1367. he was Abraham. He was Abraham. And God

1368. says to him, "Go from your country and

1369. your kindred and your father's house to

1370. the land I will show you and I will make

1371. you a great nation and I will bless

1372. you." So here again, God will bless him

1373. and make his name great. And then what

1374. happens? so that you will be a blessing.

1375. You are blessed to be a blessing. It

  1376. it's not just a Christian cliche. It's

1377. actually the way the kingdom works. You

1378. are blessed. You receive from him so

1379. that you can be a blessing. And then he

1380. explains what does this blessing look

  1381. like?

1382. He says,"I will bless those who uh and

1383. and I will bless you and make your name

1384. great so that you will be a blessing. I

1385. will bless those who bless you and and

1386. him who dishonors you I will curse and

1387. in you all the families of the earth

1388. shall be blessed." So, hey, I'm going to

1389. bless you and I'm going to create a

1390. momentum in you that causes every family

1391. going forward to be blessed. This was

1392. the covenant God is making with Abram.

1393. And it is a covenant about generational

  1394. blessing.

1395. And can I say this morning that God's

1396. heart for generational blessing has not

1397. changed. He still has a heart where he

1398. is wanting generations to be blessed.

1399. You see, I found myself in the midst of

  1400. a uh multi-generational

1401. story that I just feel like the the

1402. kindness of God towards me. Um, growing

1403. up, I did not grow up in a family where

1404. we did things with our extended family.

1405. Like we tended to not do things with our

1406. extended family. I really don't want to

1407. offend anyone, but they they were from

1408. uh Invagle and they um were a little bit

1409. different. We'll just say that. This is

1410. being live streamed. Oh, can we cut that

  1411. out? Um

  1412. if you're watching, I love you.

  1413. They're not watching. Haven't got

  1414. internet yet. Um

1415. okay, I'm going to move on. Um,

1416. I grew up in a family where we didn't do

1417. a whole lot with our extended family.

1418. And actually, I never met two of my

1419. grandparents. I was the youngest. Um,

1420. and so two of them had passed away

1421. before um, you know, I um was born and

1422. and the other two both passed away

1423. before I was five. And so I grew up in a

1424. loving family, but I didn't grow up in

1425. real uh identity of legacy and of family

  1426. blessing. And hey, I understand there'll

1427. be people who will go, man, I would give

1428. anything to even have your story. Like I

1429. know there'll be people here that will

1430. be like, man, you think that's

1431. dysfunctional? My family puts the fun in

1432. dysfunctional, right? Like I get it that

1433. there are people that would go, "Man,

1434. like your story is sad, Aaron, but you

1435. don't even know the levels of

1436. dysfunction that I was in in my

1437. generations." And hey, I acknowledge

1438. that as a as a real thing um you know

1439. that many of us may have come in. And so

1440. for me, I I didn't have this real strong

1441. generational connect. And then when I

1442. was 12, my dad suddenly passed away. And

1443. so what I found was this uh just this

1444. disconnect of um in in life and I guess

1445. for me already didn't have a wider

1446. support network of family. There was uh

1447. for me felt very isolated as a young

1448. man. Um and uh you know heartbroken and

1449. to be honest there weren't really any

1450. other men in my world at that stage as a

  1451. 12-year-old boy. We'd moved uh cities a

1452. few years earlier. So a lot of our old

1453. friends family network wasn't there

1454. anymore. And so I didn't really have

1455. anyone that as a man was like hey how

1456. are you doing? like and um and so what

1457. happened though, my dad got saved just

1458. before I um just before he passed away.

1459. And so I remember thinking I'd seen his

1460. life change. Uh he got saved. His life

1461. did change. Not totally. I remember he

1462. still got really angry with me when I

1463. laughed when he prayed during grace on

1464. Christmas Day cuz we never prayed. And

1465. then all of a sudden my dad was praying

1466. and I thought that was funny. and he

1467. apparently was not saved enough to be

1468. totally saved of all of his anger. And

1469. uh he did not think that his son

1470. laughing at his very first audition of

1471. public prayer at the dinner table was a

1472. good thing. And consequently, it was not

1473. the best Christmas of my life. Uh but

1474. anyway, he he had been saved. And so I'd

1475. seen transformation in him and I was

1476. like, man, I wonder what this is. And so

1477. I began to go to a youth group. And um

1478. man, I'm so grateful for youth

1479. ministries. And our youth ministry was

1480. kind of like a youth and young adults in

1481. one at that stage. And so we had like a

1482. number of youth leaders who were like 30

1483. to 35, like probably about 15 of them.

1484. It was effectively their young adults

1485. group where they would come and come to

1486. youth group and be youth leaders and

1487. young adults all in one. Uh it's maybe

1488. not what you're supposed to do, but it's

1489. just what what we had. And so what it

1490. meant was I came into this youth

1491. ministry and all of a sudden I was

1492. surrounded by people who wanted to speak

  1493. into my life.

1494. And the next few years what I had to do

1495. was I had to grow and change my mindset

1496. and become someone that allowed others

1497. to speak into my life. And not not I

1498. don't even mean just challenge. I mean,

1499. I just had to allow myself to open up

1500. and actually be like, "Lord, would you

1501. minister to me through these people?

1502. God, help me." I have a natural defense

1503. of just saying, "No thanks." And I need

1504. to learn what it is to step forward. You

1505. see, I always love the scripture after

1506. my dad had passed away and I came to

1507. Jesus and you know, the scriptures say

1508. that that God is a father to the

1509. fatherless. And I was like, man, that's

1510. amazing. Like, and I was so grateful for

1511. that promise. But you know what? The

1512. next verses, he puts the solitary in a

  1513. family.

1514. And it was like, I I love the idea of

1515. God being a father to the fatherless

1516. until he's then like, hey, that actually

1517. looks like you becoming family to

1518. people. Hey, that actually looks like me

1519. placing you somewhere and you being

1520. willing to become family to those who he

  1521. has placed you in.

1522. And so I found myself in the midst of

  1523. this

  1524. uh I didn't realize it was

1525. multigenerational, but just having these

1526. people encourage me and build into my

1527. life. And uh it it it started a theme

1528. that I didn't even know that God was

1529. doing that would continue over the next

1530. decades of my life and has still

1531. continued where I felt like for whatever

  1532. reason

1533. God took me as someone who felt so

1534. broken, so disconnected in family and

1535. was like, I I'm going to put

1536. people in your life who are going to

1537. encourage you and speak into you and

1538. bless you. And man, I am so grateful.

1539. I've had so many amazing people speak

1540. into my life. And then he's like, "But

1541. then I'm going to put you in a family."

1542. And we uh came to to Elim and Pastor

1543. Trevor um uh became our senior pastor,

1544. Pastor Trevor and Debbie, and were just

1545. so kind to us. Like we were Bible

1546. college students. The first mission trip

1547. I ever went on, Pastor Trevor personally

1548. paid for me. I wasn't his youth pastor.

1549. I was just a Bible college student at

1550. his church and he's like, "Hey, I really

1551. feel I just want to pay for you and

1552. bless you to go to uh Fiji on a mission

1553. trip. I remember uh I asked to borrow

1554. his lawn mower cuz we moved into a new

1555. house. Hadn't had our lawn mower yet. He

1556. just turned up and mowed my lawns." Um

1557. and so Trev is a great person to ask to

1558. borrow his lawn mower just quietly. If

1559. you ever need your lawns done, just ask

1560. him, "Hey, can I borrow the lawn mower?"

1561. Um and uh amazing. And so just felt like

1562. I was invited into the story. And I

1563. realized this morning like uh normally

1564. uh we I I do tell a lot of stories, but

1565. normally we go go through scriptures in

  1566. a systematic way, but I'm actually

1567. wanting to share some of my heart with

1568. you this morning. I'm actually wanting

1569. to share some of my journey around like

1570. why for me this is a core conviction,

  1571. but I believe it wasn't a conviction

1572. that was in the heart of Aaron. It

1573. wasn't a conviction because it was just

1574. my experience. It was a conviction

1575. because it was my experience of

1576. something that God did and birthed in me

1577. and has placed on our church. And so

1578. it's actually the heartbeat of who we

1579. are to be as people that we are to model

  1580. a multigenerational church. So I uh

1581. became youth pastor at Tonga Elim. Um,

1582. Brody was in my youth group uh back in

1583. those days. Pastor Trevor wanted to get

1584. rid of him on a a Friday night. So, he

1585. he got to like 10 years old, maybe

1586. eight, eight, nine, nine, 10, somewhere

1587. around there. And he goes, "Oh, Brody's

1588. going to start coming to youth group."

  1589. I'm like, "He's 10." And he's like, "Oh,

  1590. no. It's good. He's He's good." I mean,

1591. I can tell you that was awkward when we

1592. did the sex talk at youth group and 10

1593. 10-year-old Brody McDow is sitting

1594. there. He's still a little bit scarred

1595. from that. That's why he's single, you

1596. know. It's just that that he's like,

  1597. "Man, as a 10year-old, I had to listen

1598. just Okay, move on." Uh

1599. so he he would come as a as a 10year-old

1600. and uh man isn't it amazing what Jesus

1601. does like I think now to think that

1602. there was that 10-year-old boy that

1603. would come to our youth ministry and now

1604. to see that what uh he is a part of

1605. leading and what God is doing that man

1606. is just uh it's not all about numbers

1607. 100% but Man, it is significant numbers.

1608. But the number of kids being discipled

1609. and encountering Jesus, the numbers are

1610. awesome because of what's happening, not

1611. because of numbers, man. It's like

1612. people are being and I never would have

1613. guessed when this 10-year-old boy came

1614. into youth and had to play drums and had

1615. to be on a high seat cuz he couldn't

1616. quite reach the the top thing and to

1617. come in. I never would have guessed that

1618. God was writing something in that would

  1619. cause generations

  1620. that would bless generationally.

1621. And it is part of who we are as a church

1622. that we have this thread and it's not

1623. just in leaders and it's not just

1624. leadership. It's actually just this

1625. thread of blessing that flows through.

1626. So, how does this become not just

1627. something that we say, "Oh, well, that's

1628. nice that um you know,

1629. we have a few stories of generational

1630. blessing." What does it actually look

1631. like for generations to not just

1632. tolerate each other, but actually be in

  1633. a multi-generational

1634. revival? I love the scripture in Malachi

  1635. where there's a prophetic word and it's

1636. it's partly outworked through John the

1637. Baptist come but it says this. It says

1638. behold I will send Elijah the prophet

1639. before the great and awesome day of the

1640. Lord and he will turn the hearts of the

1641. fathers to their children and the hearts

1642. of their children to their fathers least

1643. I come and strike the land with a decree

  1644. of utter destruction.

1645. And so there's this proclamation that

1646. what will happen is hearts will be

1647. turned yes within physical families but

1648. I think it's also uh representation uh

  1649. representing generations that that

1650. hearts of fathers will be turned to sons

1651. and hearts of sons will be turned to

1652. fathers. What happens to fuel a

1653. multi-generational revival is our hearts

  1654. begin to turn. And I I I know I've said

1655. this before, but you know, the next

  1656. generation

1657. need a place in your heart, not a piece

  1658. of your mind.

  1659. >> And

1660. the older generations need a place in

1661. your heart, not a rolling of your eyes.

  1662. like that we actually

1663. have this thing where our hearts are

  1664. turned.

1665. You see, it all starts with the heart.

1666. Cuz sometimes I'll have people come and

  1667. they're like, "Hey, I I want to mentor a

  1668. young person." And I'm like, "That's

1669. awesome. Have you talked to any?" Well,

1670. no, but I've just got all this stuff I

1671. want to share. like I I just see some of

1672. their mistakes and I see how they could

1673. be doing things better and I see what

1674. and I'm like okay let's start by turning

1675. our hearts like let's start not with

1676. like man I have all the stuff they need

1677. to know but let's start by saying man

1678. what would it look like to begin to what

1679. will my heart be turned towards them

1680. what do they need not what do I think

1681. they need because those things aren't

  1682. the same question

1683. sometimes we can be like, "Hey, I think

1684. I know I know what they need." And uh

1685. Pastor Brody was sharing with me a a

1686. message that he heard the other week

1687. where a young 19year-old preached and he

1688. mentioned Gen Z. And then within it uh

1689. all the comments, someone commented and

1690. said, "Finally, someone in the church

1691. from Gen Z is talking about Gen Z."

1692. Because they were like, "What generally

1693. happens is old bold men like me stand up

1694. and talk about the next generation and

1695. go this is what the next generation

1696. wants. This is what they need." And

1697. they're like, "Yeah, thanks old bold

  1698. guy."

1699. And sometimes we don't start with

1700. turning our hearts. We start with what

1701. we know. And man, can I say there is

1702. such wisdom and value wrapped up in all

1703. generations. And we do need that wisdom

1704. and value. But it doesn't start by

1705. saying, "I've got wisdom to share." It

1706. starts by saying, "I've got a turned

  1707. heart."

1708. And we want our young people to have

1709. hearts turned towards the older

1710. generations. I include myself in that,

1711. so don't feel offended. Um

1712. that our hearts would be turned. You

1713. see, I think the scriptures kind of have

1714. this pattern where um it it it's not a

1715. commandment as such. It's a pattern that

1716. you can see where older generations

1717. bless and provide inheritance for

1718. younger generations. It says a in

1719. Proverbs 19:22, "A good person leaves an

    Proverbs 19:22

  1720. inheritance for their children's

  1721. children, but a sinner's wealth is

1722. stored up for the righteous." There is

1723. something about righteousness that is

1724. supposed to leave inheritance for

1725. multiple generations. And that is not

1726. just uh uh financial that is actually

1727. inheritance that we are supposed to pay

1728. a price that leaves inheritance for

1729. future generations. We're supposed to

1730. live in such a way that that our hearts

1731. are turned. And so if you're on the

1732. older generation, you're like, man,

1733. where do I even start with this,

1734. man? Can can I suggest you start by

1735. saying, Lord, what would it look like

1736. for me to bless the next generation?

1737. What would that look like? Not for what

1738. would it look like for me to have

1739. influence or what would it like look

1740. like for me to be able to share or what

1741. would it look like for me to mentor, but

1742. starting off by saying, "What would it

1743. look like for me to bless them? God, how

1744. could I bless them, Lord? How could I be

1745. a person of blessing? Lord, would you

1746. turn my heart? How could I bless the

  1747. next generation?

1748. And I think sometimes we hear the grand

1749. stories and then we say terms like

1750. multigenerational revival and we can

1751. kind of think it's so complex, but so

1752. often it's so simple. I can tell you in

1753. one word every young person's love

  1754. language fo o d.

1755. You want to influence the next

1756. generation, come to Pastor Brody and

1757. say, "Man, I'll cook an amazing supper

1758. for your youth leaders." I I can tell

1759. you, they will feel that your heart is

1760. turned towards them. They will be like,

  1761. I I hear that applause.

1762. But just deciding, hey, what could I do

  1763. practically? That's simple. that's not

1764. trying to be mentor a generation but

1765. saying Lord how could I bless Lord how

1766. could I leave an inheritance Lord how

  1767. could I do that

  1768. when I was

1769. a youth leader in Christ Church we had a

1770. youth ministry that was called ground

1771. zero and we um we had these hoodr rats

1772. that would come to our youth ministry

1773. and they were rugged ass and uh we would

1774. try and reach them for Jesus and they

1775. were pretty um pretty out there and um

1776. what we did was a few of us started a

1777. touch team and were playing touch on a

1778. Thursday night and uh the problem is

1779. some of these children like to give some

1780. advice to the referee that maybe wasn't

1781. particularly Christian language and part

1782. of the other problem was

1783. the youth leader was still only in his

1784. mid20s and he would sometimes get a bit

1785. frustrated with the referee, but we

1786. would play touch and we'd have a Bible

1787. study. And I'll always remember there

1788. were two ladies in our church that lived

  1789. together. They were retired

1790. missionaries. They were in their late

  1791. 70s.

1792. And every week they would say, "We're

1793. praying for your young people's Bible

1794. study." They never asked to come. They

1795. never They said, "Hey, what are the

1796. names? We're praying for those young

1797. boys that are struggling that they would

1798. come to know Jesus." I was like, "How

1799. beautiful." And then they even inquired,

1800. "Hey, how's your touch going?" I said,

1801. "Hey, we made the semi-finals." Well, I

1802. could not believe I'm on the sideline

1803. and I look up and there's these two

1804. nearly 80-year-old ladies on the

1805. sideline watching our touch and all of a

1806. sudden I'm like, I'll be on my best

1807. behavior. I was just angry with the

  1808. riff. I'm like,

  1809. but that's multigenerational revival.

1810. I still 20 years ago, I know Nero and

1811. Esther were their names. They even sound

  1812. old.

  1813. Sorry to Esther.

1814. Nil and Esther just wanted to bless the

  1815. next generation.

1816. How beautiful. And for the younger

  1817. generation

1818. generally the pattern in scripture is

1819. that the younger generation honor the

  1820. older generations.

1821. Now just like blessing should be given

1822. and not demanded, it's the same for

1823. honor. that true honor is given, not

1824. demanded. So, it's not, "Hey, you guys

1825. need to do this for the older

1826. generation, but a heart that actually

1827. says, "Man, I want to honor someone."

1828. Wow, I heard that one of the people in

1829. our church had a hip operation. Why

1830. don't I go mow their lawns? What would

1831. it look like to honor them? And that we

1832. actually create a culture where we

1833. mutually honor one another and our

  1834. hearts are turned

1835. You know, if you come to our church, I

1836. really hope there are some things that

1837. happen within our services that you go,

1838. "Oh, that wasn't really relevant to me."

1839. I mean, one of our elim DNA is to be

1840. relevant. But I hope there are bits of

1841. the service that aren't relevant for

1842. every generation because I hope there

1843. are bits that every generation leans

1844. into a little bit and goes, "Oh, that

1845. was for me." Or or that was cool. And

1846. then, you know, a younger generation is

1847. rolling their eyes going, "Oh, that was

1848. a bit different." And then, you know, a

1849. bit later on, an older generation is

1850. going, "Gee, I I'm all for the next

1851. generation, but does it really need to

1852. be that loud?" Um, and uh, you know, I

1853. hope we have those kind of moments. And

1854. then I hope within it that our hearts

1855. are turned, that we have hearts that

1856. turn. Can I tell you honestly, I'm so

1857. encouraged by what God is doing through

1858. the generations. on illucian what he

1859. runs our seniors group. He just does an

1860. amazing job. Like man, he is gifted. I

1861. can tell you he's gifted on a

1862. spreadsheet as well. He is a man of

1863. order and discipline and he's got

1864. spreadsheets and texts and he's awesome.

  1865. He like, man, I'm I'm thinking I need

1866. some tips on how to administer a group

1867. because he's so good at at administering

1868. it and creating an environment where our

1869. seniors want to come. You know, I'm so

1870. encouraged by what's happening through

1871. all generations in our church. And my

1872. heart is that we would have a

  1873. multi-generational

1874. revival where our hearts would be turned

  1875. one to another.

1876. That it wouldn't be a law where we set

1877. up huge structures, but it would start

1878. with a heart to bless and honor. And so

1879. what I want to finish this morning by

1880. doing is I'm going to invite a couple of

1881. people from uh different generations to

1882. come up and pray a blessing over the

1883. generations. I was I've asked uh Danny

1884. and uh Pat Buckley to come. So if you

1885. guys want to come now, that would be

1886. amazing. And um I did say to Danny um

1887. you can pray for the um I told her she

1888. was allowed to say older generations. So

1889. um yeah, I was kind of like what do we

1890. say? You can pray for the generation

1891. above you. I was like, "We're old, so

1892. you can pray for us." Um, but thought

1893. it'd be awesome if she round,

  1894. awesome.

1895. We might have just lost our nextgen

1896. prayer, but Brody will uh go and uh find

  1897. her,

1898. which might be a good opportunity for a

  1899. Rubik's cubing update.

1900. It's really hard to find someone's name.

1901. Ah, there we go. Awesome. He finished

1902. 46th in New Zealand. So, that's pretty

  1903. cool.

1904. And if anyone is interested, he had a

1905. 14second average across five solves on a

1906. Rubik's cube. So yeah, pretty cool.

1907. Wilson Daddy, come. Let's welcome her.

1908. She is an awesome young lady and I'm

1909. actually going to ask her to start by

1910. praying a prayer of blessing. And uh man

  1911. um

1912. we love you heaps. So appreciate you and

1913. uh appreciate you coming to pray a

1914. blessing. So man um young people who are

1915. generally over this side you can just

1916. reach your hand out towards all of these

1917. bold gray heads and uh bless them in the

  1918. mighty name of Jesus.

  1919. >> Awesome.

1920. >> Okay, cool. Let's all pray together.

1921. Um yeah, Lord, I just want to um yeah,

1922. just lift up this generation to you,

1923. Lord. Lord, I just pray that they would

1924. just continue to deepen their

1925. relationship with you, Lord. That you

1926. would just bless them with a fresh fire,

1927. Lord. Just fresh wisdom, Lord. And that

1928. you would just bless them with

1929. sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, Lord.

1930. And um yeah, Lord, I just also want to

1931. pray that you would also just um

1932. yeah, Lord, that you would just continue

1933. to remind each and every one of them,

1934. Lord, that they still have a God-given

1935. purpose, Lord. And Lord, that you would

1936. just continue to remind them, Lord, that

1937. you're still using them to encourage

1938. others, to lead others, and to disciple

1939. those around them, Lord. And um yeah,

1940. Lord, I just want to lift up just, you

1941. know, their physical, emotional, and

1942. spiritual strength to you, Lord, that

1943. you would just continue to Yeah. just

1944. heal them where healing is needed, Lord.

1945. That you would just continue to sustain

1946. them, Lord. And um yeah, that you would

1947. just fill them with hope and joy and

1948. yeah, just your peace and love, Lord.

1949. And um yeah, Lord, I just pray, Lord,

1950. that you would also just um

1951. yeah, that you would just let them um

1952. that you would just let the yeah, just

1953. the fruit of their faith, Lord, um be

1954. seen, Lord, just by the generations to

1955. come, Lord. Yeah. In Jesus name. Amen.

  1956. Awesome. Isn't she a gun?

1957. >> Wow. So good. Bless you.

1958. You want to pray for our young people?

  1959. >> Yep.

1960. >> Father, I just speak life and blessing

1961. over this generation that is growing in

1962. the church. Lord, I just pray that you

1963. would just give them a humility and a

1964. grace to reach out and connect with the

1965. older generation. That they would see uh

1966. the wisdom and the grace that's gone

1967. before them. And Lord, they would be

1968. willing to open their hearts with

1969. humility and receive words of wisdom,

1970. words of guidance, words of love, Lord,

1971. acts of service, Lord, that they would

1972. be uh open enough to recognize and

1973. acknowledge that the generations that

1974. have gone before them uh have paid a

1975. price, Lord, in many ways. And Lord, I

1976. just pray that they would acknowledge

1977. and respect and learn to develop a a a

1978. an ability to to reach out and to talk

1979. to the older generation, Lord, that they

1980. wouldn't fear and feel inadequate, but

1981. they would just with humility reach out

1982. in simple com conversation and just

1983. connect and find ways to connect with

1984. them, Lord. that they would uh just

1985. recognize the the uh mantle that's on

1986. them and Lord that they would be uh just

1987. open to hearing what you have to say

1988. through this generation. Father, bless

1989. them. I speak life. I pray that the

1990. generations that are now here, Lord,
