The Vocabulary of Praise - Psalm 149

I'd like to welcome you to a brand new

sermon series I've entitled the

vocabulary of Praise uh in December of

last year I was watching a sermon series

by Levi lusco and I was just so just

captivated by this whole subject of

worship music and praise and scripture

and uh so I started texting with the

worship leaders I'm like man we got to

do this we we need to talk about this

too and they're like all right first of

all lay off the Monster energy drinks

before you text us and then secondly

okay we're cool we're we're we're in we

we'll talk about this and then I was

like well let's take the whole summer to

do it and they're like huh I'm like yeah

let's take the whole summer and just

talk about this idea of praise and and

worship and so as as you turn to Psalm

149 I just want you to to understand

that this Psalm contains one of seven

different Hebrew words for

praise look in English we have one they

have seven and you know what that means

that means that we don't get a full

understanding of what the word praise

really means I would argue that the fact

that we only have one word for praise in

the English language has led to a a sad

decline in Worship in all of the

churches in a lot of the churches in the

United States so let me give you an

example of how this works so we in

English we have one word for love so I

would say I love my wife I love my

children and I love

tacos and you would say well does that

mean you love your children as much as

tacos and I would say

yes just kidding of course not of course

I love my children more than I love

tacos but you wouldn't know that because

we just don't have the the vocabulary

the range of words to express what we

actually mean in English so uh in the

Greek though in your new testament there

are four different words for love you

have sto which means um it's it's a type

of love that is associated with empathy

and you have filia which is like a

friendly type of love you have agape

love that unconditional love that God

shows us and then you have AOS which is

romantic love so if you want to talk

about love in the Greek New Testament

you have all these words all these

different things that you can use to

express exactly what you mean the so

this sermon series actually came from a

a book that was written called holy Roar

it was written by Chris Tomlin and

Darren Whitehead and the purpose of this

book was to introduce us to the seven

Hebrew words for praise that God gave us

in the Old Testament and the goal of

their teaching was to teach us that

there's not just like one type of Praise

that we have to hammer and force into

every single situation see what happens

is in english- speaking areas we have

that one word for praise and so as as a

child you develop a definition that goes

along with that one word for praise and

as you get older if someone tries to do

something outside of the definition that

you have placed on the word praise you

think that they're wrong because that's

not the definition of Praise that you

came up with so when you don't have a a

breadth of words to use for worship

Styles then what you wind up doing is

trying to hammer your definition of

Praise into every single situation and

that is not what God teaches us in the

Bible so what what I want to do over the

next seven weeks is I want to give you

like some new golf clubs for your golf

bag so for instance some of you you

might just have your putter right now

you know like you got your definition of

praise and it works for you know a lot

of situations but what if you're 300

yards from the cup that putter is not

going to do you a lot of good is it so

what do you need you need some new clubs

you need some wedges you need some irons

you need you need some some clubs a

driver even that will help you be able

to accomplish your goal and that's what

we're going to do we're going to look at

all these words and it's going to be

like putting new new clubs in the golf

bag so that whatever uh whatever

situation you find yourself in you have

the appropriate club for the job so

let's pray and then we'll get started

with today's word

father I pray

that this message would be

additive Lord so many of us have already

def defined what praise is and what it

looks like and how it should be done in

a church setting and so Lord I I pray

that we would see that yeah we're right

but there's also things we can add to

that definition of Praise Lord what I

want for us is just to be a well-rounded

church that understands that that praise

is just not one style of music or one

style presentation Lord but it's a it's

it's a holistic approach to bringing you

the glory that you are that you deserve

Lord I I pray that you would be with

those who have hurting Hearts this

morning I just think about Mike and and

David and the rest of the family as as

Joyce uh gets closer to meeting with you

Lord I first of all thank you that she

is a a devout Christian that she's spent

her entire life loving Jesus and Lord we

know that even when she passes from here

that she's going to be in your care and

a perfect place for all of etern and so

Lord give us hope with that but also

Lord we know there's family members

right here that are hurting and Lord I

think about others like Odell who's

battling cancer and Lord I I think about

the people that are uh Lord that are

going through these difficult times

fighting these illnesses having these

mental health issues and financial

struggles and God it's just so awesome

that we can come to this place and

worship you in the middle of the pain

because as we'll see Lord that's a

powerful weapon against the things that

are trying to tear us down so Lord be

with us today as we look at your word I

pray that it would imprint itself on our

hearts and that those of us that like to

set an authority over the Bible would

submit ourselves to the true words of

God and allow you to shape us into the

people that you want us to be so when we

go out in the community we represent you

well in Jesus name I pray

amen so you had a group of nerds I mean

a group of people in the 1600s that uh

got together and they wanted to distill

these huge theological principles from

scripture into little statements of

faith that would help help us understand

what they actually mean and they came up

with this thing called the West

Westminster catechism and in that

catechism they defined what the purpose

of life is and no one has ever written a

better statement about the purpose of

life than what was written in this

catechism they said that the chief end

of man and that that word man means man

and woman it's gender neutral the chief

end of man humanity is to glorify God

and enjoy him forever so like the thing

behind the thing the thing that's always

is running in the background of all the

activities that you take part in is this

idea that the purpose of your life is to

love God glorify him and enjoy him for

eternity so you know on your Tombstone

you have your date of birth and your

date of death and there's a little Dash

in between it's talking about the dash

like the dash represents all the things

that you did with your life and what the

Bible says is that the main thing that

you should do with that little Dash is

that you should love God and enjoy him

forever

that's what the point of life is it's to

worship God so if that's true if the

point of life is for all of us to

worship God then shouldn't we want to

get better at our praise let me ask it

this way is there anybody in this room

that wants to get better at the meaning

of life today okay all three of you

we're going to roll everybody else join

in some point anyway so we talked about

the idea that worship is more than just

singing all right so it's the Shima it's

love the Lord your God with all your

heart soul and strength everything you

do should bring God glory it's not just

the singing It's also what you do with

your life right but praise like worship

is no less than singing okay so it's not

all singing but it's no less than

singing Because worship music and praise

music and they go hand in hand in the

Bible so we're going to look at a a book

of the Bible that is dedicated to

worship music it's called the Psalms and

we're going to look at one Psalm that

gives us one word that we're going to

kind of highlight today so Psalm 149

beginning in verse one this says

hallelujah some translations say praise

the Lord hallelujah praise the Lord sing

to the Lord a new song his praise in the

Assembly of the faithful let Israel

celebrate its maker let the children of

Zion rejoice in their King let them

Praise His Name with

dancing uhoh did I just say that in a

Baptist Church

mm might to fire myself let them Praise

His Name with dancing sorry and make

music to him with tambourine that's kind

of like a drum and a

liar so for the Lord for the Lord takes

pleasure in his people he adorns The

Humble with salvation key word salvation

let the faithful celebrate and trium

full Joy Glory let them shout for Joy on

their beds let the exaltation of God be

in in their mouths and a double-edged

sword in their hands inflicting

Vengeance on the Nations and Punishment

on the people binding their kings and

their chain with chains and their

dignitaries with iron shackles carrying

out the Judgment decreed against them

this honor for all his faithful people

hallelujah or praise the word the Lord

so the word praise is halal okay it's

where the word hallelujah comes from and

it means get this to shine

okay to make a show uhoh to boast to

Rave to celebrate to give life to praise

to rage to be clamorously foolish I like

that one because I do it every Sunday

morning be clamorously foolish what I

love about this word is when they wrote

the Latin septent which is just

basically the Old Testament written in

Latin um this is one of the words that

they did not translate they

transliterated it which means they left

the word alone because they love that

word hallelujah they're like this

original language word from the Hebrew

people is so beautiful and so perfect

that as we translate the Old Testament

we're not changing that word because

that word is perfection we're going to

transliterate it in there and what that

word means is that it's time to

celebrate God now since we are told that

there is a time to celebrate God what

else does that

mean there's also a Time

not to celebrate okay there's a time for

every there's season for everything

sometimes we celebrate loud joyous

praise songs other times more

introspective Ecclesiastes

Ecclesiastes 3:4

3:4 says there's a time to weep and also

a time to laugh there's a time to mourn

and here it is again there's a time to

dance so at times when you choose not to

celebrate

God then you are outside of what the

Holy Spirit wants to do in your church

and in your life there are times when we

need to turn up and turn out for Jesus

okay there are times where we need to go

back to 1997 in The Warp Tour in

Virginia Beach and we need to channel

that that that the 16-year-old

17-year-old inner Spirit of Kevin in

that parking lot out there listening to

his favorite bands there's some

sometimes okay I know your audience

Kevin all right

the G Brooks concert back in 1995 that

you all went to when you were so excited

right that's a celebratory experience

and that is what this scripture is

talking about and then there are other

times this is just as important there

are other times where you need to

withhold the

celebration and when you do that you're

right where the spirit wants you to be

there's a time for celebration and

there's a time for interest

inpection it it's why our praise songs

vary from celebratory to introspective

to contemplative to even convicting

because we respect what the Holy Spirit

wants to do on Any Given Sunday and our

worship team respects the direction that

the sermon is headed as well because

everything has its season now I'm going

to steal a line from Levi here because

he talked about the Church of the Frozen

chosen you ever heard of that church

Frozen CH yeah that's the one I grew up

in okay that's the church where they

wanted to make sure that you felt like

you were going to a funeral service

every Sunday morning there were parts of

like they had an organ and there were

keys on the organ that weren't allowed

to be played because they were too

bright and too happy okay we wanted

conviction every Sunday morning and

while yes that's a part of church is it

really what we want every single Sunday

well I wasn't in church leadership so

maybe the Holy Spirit told them to do

that I don't know but what I do know is

it was kind of a miserable experience I

very much enjoyed coming to churches

which with with with the ones that

balance that celebration with also that

conviction see you got to ask the

question why are some of us maybe not in

this room but as Christians why are some

of us so uncomfortable with celebrating

in our worship I mean we celebrate at

concerts we celebrate at weddings we

celebrate at at sporting events you know

sometimes there's just this thing inside

of you that needs to come out like

you're Victorious so you got to

celebrate think about like the the the

million dooll athletes that play

professional football when they score a

touchdown they turn into like

12-year-old boys again you know they

have these sanely elaborate End Zone

celebrations that it's not because of

ego it's because they were victorious in

something that was very hard to do and

when they're Victorious they just let it

go right they celebrate they're excited

about what happened in their life so why

do we sometimes sit in church with our

arms crossed and barely give God a

little toet tap during these celebratory

songs Look please don't tell me that

your favorite college football team gets

more of your attention and adoration and

celebration than your Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ who went to the cross for

you so that you could be purchased from

sin and death and experience life and

life abundant

I'm not

done cuz you know that when you got

those awesome I see you on Facebook okay

I see I don't post but I watch and I see

that when you get those awesome concert

tickets you get a little cray CR at the

concert just to be honest I know that

some of you when you shoot that 400 PB

wilderbeast out in the forest you do a

little moonwalk in the woods I've seen

you do it I've seen you do it you're

excited because you were victorious I

know I've seen that when you do the bump

set Spike and you spike the ball down on

the head of the procurement person in

the the finals of the championship game

and then you do the the you know the

team crowd surfs across the state like

that's celebration I've seen you

celebrate so why when we talk about this

thing that's worthy of Celebration

salvation why do we sometimes become

reserved look praise is salvation's

soundtrack

you were saved and it's okay to be

excited about that I love Donna was

teaching on this this morning in Sunday

school and I loved it because it went so

hand inand with what we're going to talk

about today when you're sa when you

realize who you were and what God saved

you from man you just want to celebrate

so in Luke chapter 15 there's a story

Luke 15 · chapter mention

it's called the story of The Prodigal

Son pretty famous story you may have

heard it but there's a son that demanded

his inheritance from his father before

his father ever died and he took this

inheritance which by the way is very

disrespectful um but he took his

inheritance and he went to this big city

and he blew it on prostitutes and raging

parties and pleasing his fickle

bandwagon friends and he wound up

destitute when he ran out of money he's

in the gutter and all those friends

abandoned him and left him for dead it

says in this story that no one gave him

a thing he was completely on his own so

he worked with these uncer animals these

pigs and eventually got so hungry that

he was eating the pig slop the same

thing that the pigs were eating and he

decided that it would be better to be a

servant in the house of his father than

to stay where he was and so he walked

home now here's the cool part of the

story the father spent every day gazing

at the Horizon wondering when his son

would come home and one day he looks out

on the horizon he sees his son coming

toward the house and the father who's a

very wealthy man does something that

wealthy people did not do at that time

especially wealthy men he hiked up his

skirt and he ran all the way to his

son now something I've missed from the

story that Tim Keller unlocked for me

that I thought was pretty amazing Tim

Keller says the shame that the sun

brought on the home would have made it

open season on the sun and likely that

anyone in the community could have

stoned the boy to death on sight because

of the disgrace that he bought on his

family that's another reason the father

ran to the son to protect the son dad's

like look if you're going to throw rocks

at my kid you're going to have to throw

them at me first right it's a picture of

God's love for us we're the son he's the

father there's this Joy from head to toe

that cus the father to to celebrate to

shine a light on his son to to make a

show to give a boast to to Rave to run

down the road looking clamorously

foolish that's Halal that's Hallelujah

that's celebration the father meets the

son and he gives him a robe he clothes

him him in righteousness and he gives

him a ring which symbolizes his adoption

into the family and then he goes and

they have a party where they slaughter

the fatted

calf and in Luke 15:

25 we have the older son who's out in

the field and it says he came near to

the house why because he heard music and

dancing the brother knew that salvation

had occurred because he heard music and

dancing because he heard Halal because

he heard the Hallelujah coming from the

house celebration is salvation

soundtrack Acts chapter 3 we got Peter

Acts 3 · chapter mention

and John there they saw this man who was

lay from birth and he's laying at this

gate called Beautiful which is really

ironic because his friends had to drop

him off there every day so he could beg

for enough food just to live through the

day so you got a miserable man at a gate

called beautiful and Peter and James

they come up to him or Peter and John

come up to him and they they turn toward

him and it says that the man knew

something good was coming his way when

they saw the way when he saw the way

that they turned toward him and Peter

says I don't have silver I don't have

gold but what I do have I'm going to

give to you and then he says in the name

of Jesus Christ of Nazareth get up and

walk and so he jumped up and he started

to walk and he entered the temple with

him walking leaping and what thank you

praising God

there's this celebration this dudee had

never walked before he's been given new

legs New Life New Hope new everything

and what does he do with this newness he

experienced he celebrates what God has

done in his life he's jumping and he's

dancing and he's praising it's a law

it's God picked me out of my misery he

gave me a new life and now I can't do

anything but celebrate him and the

people knew that salvation came to that

man because of the praise that they

heard coming from the temple

man celebration is salvation

soundtrack you're invited to this party

by the

way now praise comes from our response

to God's word and understanding what he

did for us what he's done and what he's

going to do so we love God because he

first okay this so this is not something

we just naturally conjure up inside

ourselves like this is in response to

something that has already happened to

us so God created us in His image but he

did not abandon us when we sinned

against him in fact he wrote himself

into the story in the form of Jesus he

shed his blood for us to give us life to

bring us back into a perfect

relationship with our creator Ephesians

chap 2:

13 says but now in Christ Jesus you who

were far away talking to me and you have

been brought near by the blood of Christ

I was on the outside of the house

listening into the house party take

place and then all of a sudden boom I'm

on the inside at the party with Jesus 1

1 Corinthians 6 · chapter mention

Corinthians chapter 6 The

unrighteousness will not the unrighteous

will not inherit the kingdom of God that

is bad news because we are all

sinners and some of you used to be like

this but you were washed you were

Sanctified you were justified in the

name of the Lord Jesus Christ by the

spirit of our God you weren't going to

get to go to the kingdom you were going

to spend eternity in hell that is really

really bad news but because of what

Jesus did for you and your faith in him

that is not your story you don't have to

worry about that anymore you get to

celebrate the fact that you have life

you have hope you are saved and

Justified and Sanctified and redeemed

that's praise the Lord level of stuff

right like praise God for that we were

dead and now we're

alive so how can we not want to

celebrate that that's why of all the

Psalms that are in this book there's not

one where the psalmist tells us to stand

there blankly with our arms crossed

singing passionless songs about

God look the only other two times in the

whole Old Testament that this word is

used is when they're stomping on grapes

after the Harvest which I imagine is a

pretty pretty fun time right they

they're getting ready to to make wine

and have parties and have fun and this

is like the the word that they choose to

use is

hallelujah well think of it this way

Zephaniah 3:1

Zephaniah 3:1

17 it says the Lord your God is among

you and he is a warrior who saves he

will rejoice over you with gladness he

will be quiet in his love so there's a

season for everything right and then

finally he will Delight in you with

singing God is already celebrating the

work that he's doing in your life so why

not join the

party but here's what I feel like

sometimes it's kind of like that middle

school dance at least this was my

experience where where the girls would

be out there on the Dance Floor having

the time of their lives and these

insecure Middle School boys like me were

huddled in the corner kind of watching

from a distance

that's the way a lot of churches operate

where God is singing and God is

celebrating all the work that is being

done and there's there's these people in

the corner and they're like no way I

can't I can't do that so so why how can

our Hallelujah actually be hindered well

I wrote down a few things number one is

is

ego some of us don't want to sing

celebratory songs because we just are

uncomfortable singing and as Glenn will

tell you it's okay to sing even if

you're not great at it like maybe don't

don't you know join the choir but from

where you're at yeah go ahead and and

sing let loose let your kids especially

dads listen let your kids see you sing

even if you're not good at it I'm not

good I'm right there every Sunday right

see that

microphone it's like eight feet from my

so when we go watch listen to this

service afterwards like I can hear

myself sing I know I'm not good but

Jesus tells me to sing anyway we don't

even sit near each other you can't hear

me sometimes it's ego sometimes it's

shame and I think this one is a lot of

what Christians experience like like we

just don't feel worthy to really praise

God because of the stuff we've done in

our past we feel just like that prodigal

we're covered in pig slop we've been

eating pig food like we we don't feel

worthy to get into the presence of our

father we just want to be a servant in

his house like I'll do stuff for you but

there's no way I can come to the party

maybe just let me serve some more derves

or something I I don't deserve to be

there some of it's our upbringing where

we're just like this is not how mom and

dad used to worship like that's my

experience when I first heard

instruments on a stage and people

singing some celebratory songs I it was

shocking to me I just never had

experienced that before and there was

this part of me it's like man I don't I

don't know if this is okay because this

is just not how I was raised and then

there's this one that I think just is

killing the church not not ours but in

general it's this consumer mindset now I

I pulled a a quote from Brooke

lighterwood

she said worship music is not something

for us to be enjoyed it's something for

us to be

giving so like simply put the worship

music is not for me it's not for you now

the B product of course is enjoyment but

you will get so much more joy from your

praise when you are giving it rather

than receiving

it we come to church to give our

offerings we come to church to give our

prayers we come to church to give

encouragement we come to church to give

give give give and part of that giving

is giving our praise it's giving our

worship so the main question question

that should be asked after every worship

service is was God pleased with this not

not did Kevin like it who

cares I it's not for me we got to ask

ourselves was God pleased with this and

if not we fix it if yes we keep going so

there's a story in the Bible that

absolutely love um didn't understand it

till really this year I've I've studied

a lot didn't really understand what was

going on because it's kind of crazy okay

the the Bible is an awesome book

especially the Old Testament so read

through it you're going to find some

really interesting things and here's one

of them 2 Samuel

2 Samuel 6:16

6:16 so the Ark of the Lord had been

gone for a long time and eventually it

made its way back to Jerusalem where

King David was and it says as the Ark of

the Lord was entering the city of David

Saul's daughter Michelle looked down

from the window and saw King David

leaping and dancing before the Lord and

she despised him in her heart she's like

not cool David see David was the the the

king sort of he was like a half King

Saul was the other half King really

convoluted mess basically but David was

presenting himself as a king in these

Royal robes and then all of the sudden

he's dancing around now what I didn't

read to you is what led up to this verse

David took off those Royal robes and got

down in his little skibbies okay he was

in his under Ros he was all the robes

are gone here's David and some shoes and

some shorts and he is dancing and not

only is he just dancing half necked he's

dancing with the servant girls so when

Michelle looks at that she's like that's

not cool my dad King Saul would never do

something that disgraceful but David was

so overcome with joy that the the Ark of

the Covenant had been brought back to

Jerusalem that he could not help himself

but get a little bit uncl clamorously

foolish now what I didn't really

understand about this is that David was

sending a message to all of Israel when

when he did this he he hadn't lost his

mind as I previously kind of thought no

he's actually sending a very strategic

message to Israel he's letting them know

that it's not about who we are it's

about who God is think about what he did

David joined the servant class he's the

king and he joined the servant class in

the dancing not only that he joined at

that time women were considered the

Lesser gender they had abs abolutely no

rights so not only did he join the

servant class as he danced but he also

joined in with the women which was

completely taboo especially for a man in

a position like the one that David was

in he stripped himself of his royalty

and celebrated god with the people as

one like he walked into the church and

he wasn't King David anymore he stripped

himself of all of that he said it's not

about me it's all about God so let me

put on my my tank top and my shorts and

my Timberlands and let's have some fun

in here you know let's dance and

celebrate god let's be clamorously

foolish that's H he's shining a light on

God he's making a show he's making a

boast he's making a rave he's making a

rage you know now nowhere in scripture

does it say that we should be crazy in

what we do like there's levels to

everything and I understand that but

there are sometimes where we you just

got to be like I don't care what other

people think I'm going to sing praises

to my Lord today the great CS Lewis said

the most valuable thing the Psalms do

for me is to express the same delight in

God which made David

dance it's time for a praise party and I

use that word strategically because the

closest word in the English language to

Halal or Hallelujah is the word party

we see this in Acts chapter 2 where

Acts 2 · chapter mention

people are filled with the H they're

filled with the Holy Spirit and they

they lose themselves in their praise and

they just simply don't care what people

are saying about them anymore they're

like we see the resurrected Jesus we are

full of the Holy Spirit and we are going

to celebrate even if they think we're

crazy and guess what they thought they

were crazy it says in Acts chap 2: 13

that people were saying they're drunk on

the new

wine there they're like people don't

sing like that people don't celebrate

like that unless they are absolutely

blitzed out of their minds the religious

folks came down with their Pious

attitudes and they started to to Scorn

the people that were passionate about

their salvation by the way no one ever

accused the Pharisees of being drunk on

new

wine because they didn't know how to

worship Halal clamorous In

Praise back to Luke 15

I told you the older brother was on the

outside looking in and he wouldn't even

go into the

feast he went and he spoke to his dad

he's like Dad you never did this for me

I never left you I never wasted your

money I never I never did any of the

things my younger brother did but you

never roasted the fatted calf for me you

never had a party for me and his dad

looks him straight in the face he's like

everything I have is yours I've given

you everything that I am but the brother

is so hard of heart that he misses out

on the party

but this younger brother he falls at the

feet of his father in Repentance and he

receives forgiveness and what's going on

in his life the music is thumping right

like the subs are turned up there's a

party that is Raging in the house

there's celebration in the

air and look what happen Psalm

Psalms 149:6

149:6 this is why praise is so important

this is the Practical part listen let

the exaltation of God be in their mouths

and

a double-edged sword in their hands

praise from your heart equals a sword in

your hands Ephesians teaches us that our

battle is not against flesh and blood

it's against spiritual authorities to

try to bind you into this this bondage

they want to control you and so the way

that you fight back is you put a sword

in your hand well where does that sword

come from it comes from praise you have

a weapon of war against the strongholds

in your life so in those moments of of

sadness and despair care and fear and

anxiety when you force yourself to

praise God anyway when you celebrate

Jesus in those times when you celebrate

him as Lord forever God becomes

enthroned over your anxiety and your

pain and your grief and your sickness

and your fear and and you're praising

and you look down and you're like whoa I

got a sword now I was getting beat up by

my enemies all of a sudden I'm praising

Jesus I look down and boom there's a

sword in my hand now I can fight

back that's why we schedule song of

celebration on Sunday morning for

everybody to

appreciate but celebratory music doesn't

just happen at church like praise

doesn't just happen in a gathering look

at verse five says let them shout for

Joy on their beds like in the house see

praise also happens when you don't have

a band to lead you so here's how I look

at it um a long time ago I went to a

Carolina hurricane kan's hockey game and

I had never watched hockey or been to a

hockey game before and we got these

incredible seats really close and at the

game they put my my cousin actually runs

the the audio video there in the arena

and he knew I was there and so he put me

on the big old

Jumbotron you know what I did I danced I

got out of my seat and started doing I

don't even look I've only danced one

time in my life and it was at my wedding

okay I went to Christian School where

dancing was forbid bidden we had a

banquet not a prom so we could keep from

dancing I did not know how to dance but

for some reason when the camera hit me

and I'm up on the Jumbotron my first

instinct is to get up and do something

I'd never done in my life

why because I was caught up in the

energy of the arena there had been other

people on the Jumbotron and all the

other people except for when they did

the kiss cam all the other people when

they got on the camera they stood up and

they danced so is what I did their

energy was infectious and here's what it

did for me I left the arena hurricanes

won by the way beat the Penguins was

awesome so I go home and I'm on fire I'm

so excited about hockey like I I went on

Fanatics and I was looking up the prices

of jerseys because I wanted to buy a

jersey like actually watched hockey on

TV by the way not a great experience

okay so like but I tried why because it

was this infectious environment that I

was in that led to me being so excited

about this sport look that's why we come

to church that's why we sing celebratory

songs so we can get caught up in the

energy of the praise songs and when we

go home and have one of those days which

we will that energy that we absorbed

into our soul on Sunday can come out in

our

home even when we don't have a band even

when we don't have a lead singer it's

just channeled from the Overflow of our

heart and we're having one of those days

we look down and we're like oh oh I got

a sword in my hand I didn't need a ban

for
