  1. is to be brave. I said it last week,

  2. I'll say it again this week. You do not

  3. have to be fearless to be brave. In 2

    2 Chronicles 20:15

  4. Chronicles chapter 20 verse 15, it tells

  5. us that the battle is not yours to

  6. fight. It is the true God's. So, life is

  7. going to get complicated. The culture

  8. you live in is going to push back

  9. against your faith, and even your

  10. friends are going to have issue with

  11. some of the faith decisions that you

  12. make. But in Christ, you can be loving,

  13. you can be authentic, and you can be

  14. brave. Why? Because God has gone before

  15. you into the battle to fight for you.

  16. And he is with you as you engage as

  17. well. And so we see this in Deuteronomy

    Deuteronomy 20:1

  18. chapter 20

  19. verse 1.

  20. It says, "When

  21. Someone say, "When."

  22. When you go to war against your enemies

  23. and see horses and chariots and an army

  24. that is larger than yours, do not be

  25. afraid of them, for the Lord your God

  26. who brought you out of the land of Egypt

  27. is with you."

  28. So, developing bravery, as we're going

  29. to learn today, is a process. And it's a

  30. process that starts before the battle.

  31. So, battles can actually be raging all

  32. around you, but that does not have to

  33. affect the peace that is within you.

  34. Because Jesus gives you this peace that

  35. goes beyond all human understanding. He

  36. said to his disciples in John chapter 14

    John 14:27

  37. verse 27, he says, "Peace I leave with

  38. you. My peace I give to you. I do not

  39. give as the world gives. Do not let your

  40. hearts be troubled or fearful." Why?

  41. Because you've received a supernatural

  42. gift from Jesus. He has given you this

  43. thing called peace.

  44. And so, as you seek peace, you have to

  45. remember that the bravery that you're

  46. trying to to cultivate in your life, it

  47. begins before the battle starts. So, in

  48. Deuteronomy chapter 20, Moses is

    Deuteronomy 20 chapter mention

  49. briefing his soldiers before they go out

  50. to war. And he's addressing the

  51. soldiers' faith before he addresses

  52. their enemy.

  53. So, before the battle begins, you have

  54. to deal with the anxiety that that

  55. unhelpful that bad type of fear. You

  56. have to deal with what's going on in

  57. your heart before you'll be able to

  58. properly engage in your battles.

  59. Otherwise, if you don't deal with it,

  60. you're going to go into battle with a

  61. wounded spirit. So, back when I was in

  62. high school, my buddy Shane got an

  63. above-ground pool. And not just an

  64. above-ground pool, he got an

  65. above-ground pool with one of those

  66. wooden decks that went all the way

  67. around it. Now, you got to understand,

  68. we're just playing on West Virginia

  69. kids. We'd never seen anything like this

  70. before. An above-ground pool with a

  71. deck, that's not just like a backyard

  72. fixture. This is like a beachfront

  73. property for us, you know?

  74. And we thought his parents were like,

  75. man, they must have hit the lotto, the

  76. scratcher, or something. Like, where did

  77. they get this kind of money? And Shane

  78. became like the king of Teays Valley

  79. that summer. I mean, everybody wanted to

  80. be Shane's best friend. Kids were lining

  81. up like it was Six Flags to come to his

  82. house. He was selling tickets to come to

  83. his pool. Um and so, we enjoyed the pool

  84. all summer, and then it got into the

  85. early fall, and I remember very vividly

  86. when Shane's little brother came out

  87. back, and he was always annoying. He's a

  88. little guy. He was always getting on our

  89. nerves. And And so, he walked up on the

  90. the the pool deck, and of course, what

  91. did we do?

  92. We threw him into the pool, right? Which

  93. is fine. The kid could swim, even though

  94. the water was over his head. But what we

  95. didn't take into account was it was in

  96. fall now, and he was wearing a hoodie

  97. and some some jeans. And so, although he

  98. knew how to swim, when those those

  99. clothes became saturated, he started

  100. carrying some extra weight. So, he

  101. wasn't just fighting against the water,

  102. he was now fighting with all the stuff

  103. that he brought into the water with him.

  104. So, we had to jump in and and make the

  105. save.

  106. And that's what anxiety does to you.

  107. Before the battle even starts, and by

  108. the way, I can't address every battle in

  109. this room because we all have different

  110. battles that we're fighting, but when

  111. before your battle starts, you have to

  112. deal with this anxiety, this bad type of

  113. fear.

  114. And so so Moses is talking to his

  115. troops, and he's like, "Look, you're not

  116. just fighting a battle, you're fighting

  117. the worry that you may be carrying into

  118. the battle." And that's why he deals

  119. with their mind before he goes and deals

  120. with their enemy. Because if worry is

  121. already weighing you down, if those

  122. things that you've brought into the

  123. battle with you are already weighing

  124. down your heart, then you're going to

  125. have to go into the next fight wounded

  126. already.

  127. If you don't deal with the anxiety in

  128. your heart before the battle begins,

  129. you're going to spend your whole time

  130. just trying to keep your head above

  131. water.

  132. So, Moses calls their attention to their

  133. their greatest resource. He talks to

  134. them about God. He says, "God will fight

  135. alongside you."

  136. And Jesus tells us more about God. He

  137. tells his disciples all kinds of stuff

  138. about God. And he when he teaches them

  139. how to pray, by the way, our next sermon

  140. series is on the Lord's Prayer, so I

  141. hope you'll come back for that. But, in

  142. addressing God, he says, "Hey, when you

  143. pray, you don't have to just call him

  144. God, you can call him

  145. Father."

  146. He says, "Pray to God your father. Call

  147. him father because you got a dad in

  148. heaven that is fighting for you. Your

  149. father is for you. Your father has gone

  150. before you. Your father is fighting the

  151. battle with you, which means your father

  152. has already won the battle. So, the

  153. first step in developing bravery is to

  154. settle in your spirit that your father

  155. God is for you. And he's for you before

  156. the battle ever even begins.

  157. So, we're talking about bravery and it

  158. starts before the battle. And what does

  159. it start? What does it look like? It's

  160. built on what you know.

  161. So, he says, "When" that means problems

  162. are inevitable in verse 1.

  163. "When you go to war."

  164. So, when you have your own personal

  165. battles, whatever those might look like.

  166. "Against your enemies and you see all

  167. the horses and the chariots and the army

  168. that is larger than yours, do not be

  169. afraid of them, for the Lord your God

  170. who brought you out of the land of Egypt

  171. is with you."

  172. I love what the pastor Rich Wilkerson

  173. Jr. has to say about this. He says, "You

  174. don't always get to choose the fight,

  175. but you do get to choose how you show up

  176. for it."

  177. So, Moses says, "When when you go off to

  178. war, don't be afraid."

  179. See, there's good fear that keeps you

  180. from doing dumb stuff and there's bad

  181. fear that keeps you in paralysis.

  182. And so, we're going to talk about this

  183. bad type of fear today. We're going to

  184. talk about this thing called anxiety.

  185. This is fear that lacks faith. This is

  186. fear that produces an assessment of the

  187. situation where God is somehow on the

  188. sideline, where God is removed from the

  189. equation.

  190. So, the anxious person with this type of

  191. fear is the type of person that walks by

  192. sight and not by faith. They they look

  193. around, they see what they see, they

  194. assess the situation, they keep God out

  195. of it, and they walk by sight. And so,

  196. when you see an enemy, you're naturally

  197. going to be scared. I went hiking when I

  198. was in my early 20s and I remember

  199. coming across a suspension bridge and I

  200. walked out a little ways on it and that

  201. bridge started to move back and forth

  202. and I'm like, "Nope. I am out. I'm going

  203. to go back to the car and I'm going to

  204. wait for all y'all to come back cuz I'm

  205. not walking across this janky bridge."

  206. But my my wife's

  207. dad, who owned a construction company,

  208. he was with us hiking and and he said,

  209. "Look, it's designed to shake.

  210. It's designed to move." He said, "If the

  211. bridge was rigid, then there's a chance

  212. that it could break and we could fall,

  213. but if those two poles on either end

  214. hold firm, then the bridge is going to

  215. shake and nothing's going to happen."

  216. So, I was thinking about that as I was

  217. reading the scripture and I was thinking

  218. about how fear shakes us. Like we can

  219. see the problem, we see the odds, we see

  220. the enemy, we see what could happen, but

  221. faith stabilizes us.

  222. So, faith does not eliminate fear. What

  223. faith does is it reminds you of the firm

  224. foundation that God has built for you so

  225. that you don't have to give in to that

  226. fear. You don't have to become

  227. faithless.

  228. Luke chapter 6, verse 47, Jesus is

    Luke 6:47

  229. telling us all about this. He says, "I'm

  230. going to show you what someone is like

  231. who comes to me, hears my words, and

  232. acts on them." He says, "He is like a

  233. man building a house who dug deep and

  234. laid the foundation on the rock. And so

  235. when the floods came and the rivers

  236. crashed against that house, it could not

  237. shake it because it was built on a firm

  238. foundation. It was built on the rock. It

  239. was built on the word of God."

  240. So, bravery is built on what you know.

  241. So, Moses tells his troops in verse one,

  242. he's like, "Look, if God could bring you

  243. out of Egypt, if God could part the Red

  244. Sea, if God was faithful back then, you

  245. know that he's going to be faithful now.

  246. And so, you're going to see the

  247. soldiers.

  248. You're going to see the chariots. You're

  249. going to see an army that is larger than

  250. yours. You're going to see all the

  251. problems that you're getting ready to

  252. face, and it's going to feel like the

  253. world around you is shaking. But, you

  254. know enough about who your God is and

  255. what your God has done to not lose faith

  256. as you enter into the battle. Amen?

  257. Bravery is built by what you know.

  258. So, if you know scripture, then you can

  259. find bravery. It's also built on who you

  260. listen to.

  261. Look at verse two of Deuteronomy chapter

    Deuteronomy 20 chapter mention

  262. 20.

  263. When you are about to engage in battle,

  264. the priest is to come forward and

  265. address the army.

  266. He is to say to them, "Listen, Israel.

  267. Today, you are about to engage in battle

  268. with your enemies. Do not be cowardly.

  269. Do not be afraid. Do not be alarmed. Do

  270. not be terrified because of them."

  271. The soldiers are expecting the general

  272. to come out and give an address, but

  273. Moses is like, "Nope. We're going to

  274. send the pastor." Amen. I get to address

  275. the troops, right?

  276. They They say, "We need a strategy." And

  277. yeah, they do. They need a battle plan.

  278. We all need a battle plan.

  279. But, Moses sends the pastor to rally the

  280. troops because more than a battle plan,

  281. they needed a sermon.

  282. And what he's telling them is you need

  283. to let God speak before you go into

  284. battle. His voice needs to be the

  285. loudest voice.

  286. Have you ever noticed how much messaging

  287. is out there in the world that is

  288. designed to cultivate worry?

  289. Uh I want you to understand that's

  290. intentional. My undergraduate is in

  291. marketing, and in marketing 101,

  292. what we learn to do is to make people

  293. worry about something, and then we

  294. introduce them to the solution to their

  295. problems.

  296. So so we say like, this terrible thing

  297. is going to happen unless you buy my

  298. product. Or or you're going to miss out

  299. on this awesome opportunity

  300. unless you join this group. Like FOMO is

  301. real. It's been around forever, and

  302. marketers take advantage of it.

  303. This crazy story is going on in the

  304. world, and unless you turn to me for

  305. your source of news,

  306. you won't know how to handle it.

  307. So their goal is to keep you engaged

  308. with their messaging, and ultimately to

  309. separate you from your money. Now, some

  310. marketing is helpful, okay? Some of the

  311. messaging it is good, it's accurate,

  312. it's information you need, it helps you

  313. make decisions, and some of the products

  314. out there actually do what they're

  315. designed to do. If that weren't the

  316. case, I would have dropped out of the

  317. program because I wouldn't want to take

  318. advantage of people. And so there is

  319. good marketing, but what I'm saying is

  320. the majority of marketing is designed to

  321. cultivate a sense of worry.

  322. It's designed to separate you from your

  323. money. And in order to do that, it makes

  324. you worried, and it introduces you to a

  325. solution. But what worry actually does

  326. is it suffocates you, and it pressures

  327. you. That's the definition of worry,

  328. suffocation and and pressure. So you

  329. have all these voices around you that

  330. are trying to get you to worry about

  331. everything. And what you have to learn

  332. to do is to turn up the voice of God so

  333. that he's louder than all the other

  334. messages that are coming into your life.

  335. Moses doesn't want his troops to

  336. suffocate in fear as they go into the

  337. battle. So he turns up the voice of God

  338. before we send them into the war.

  339. It's what Jesus did in Matthew chapter 4

    Matthew 4 chapter mention

  340. when he is going one-on-one against the

  341. devil. He is in the wilderness by

  342. himself. Satan is in the wilderness with

  343. him tempting him and after each attack

  344. Jesus says to the enemy, what? Three

  345. words.

  346. It

  347. is

  348. written. It is written. It was written

  349. in God's word before the battle ever

  350. began.

  351. And so we have to learn to turn up God's

  352. word. We have to read it. We have to

  353. memorize it. We have to teach it to our

  354. children. We have to write it on our

  355. hearts.

  356. So for those going into a battle, I just

  357. want to give you a couple today. Psalm

    Psalms 27:1

  358. 27:1, "The Lord is my light and my

  359. salvation, whom shall I fear?"

  360. Find yourself in the wilderness with the

  361. devil, quote that one.

  362. "The Lord is my light, whom shall I

  363. fear?" How about Psalm 23:4, "Yea,

    Psalms 23:4

  364. though I walk through the valley of the

  365. shadow of death, I will

  366. fear no evil." Why? Because I'm awesome?

  367. No.

  368. Because the Lord my God is with me. My

  369. shepherd is right there with the rod and

  370. the staff ready to help me take care of

  371. my problems. Huge problems like sin and

  372. death and relationship issues and

  373. addictions and all the other things that

  374. we face. Look, God doesn't always remove

  375. the problems.

  376. So some of you might be saying, "Well,

  377. why doesn't my shepherd just go before

  378. me every time and take care of this

  379. stuff so I don't ever have to deal with

  380. it?"

  381. Well, he doesn't remove the problems a

  382. lot of times because pressure reveals

  383. what's inside of you.

  384. Pressure reveals which way you're going

  385. to go.

  386. You ever get the the shopping cart at

  387. Walmart? You wonder why it's sitting

  388. there by itself and it's like, "Oh, I'll

  389. take this one." Right? It's got the it's

  390. got the wheel on the front that's like

  391. out of alignment and you don't know till

  392. you take about 20 steps and that thing

  393. starts squealing and you're like, "I go

  394. back get the other cart." You know? You

  395. just leave that one where it's at. You

  396. don't know just by looking at it. You

  397. know the thing's messed up when you

  398. start to push it, when you put pressure

  399. on it and it starts to go one way or the

  400. other. The pressure is what actually

  401. exposed what was wrong with the cart.

  402. And so sometimes God's going to let you

  403. walk into these seasons of life where

  404. you are under pressure to expose to you

  405. whether you're a person of fear or a

  406. person of faith because you got to know

  407. where you're at on the map before you

  408. can find out where you're going. So, if

  409. you put a little pressure on a

  410. Christian,

  411. which way they're going to go?

  412. Mhm.

  413. I'm just asking.

  414. What do you think?

  415. Put a little pressure on a Christian,

  416. they they're going to start squealing?

  417. They're going to start complaining?

  418. They're going to start getting angry?

  419. They're going to start panicking?

  420. Or they're going to go in the direction

  421. of the fruit of the spirit?

  422. They're going to wind up being full of

  423. love and joy

  424. and peace, patience,

  425. kindness, self-control.

  426. We know Larry which way you go. Um

  427. The battle doesn't

  428. create your response.

  429. The battle reveals what's already inside

  430. of you.

  431. So, Israel is like, we need a strategy.

  432. We need a book. We need a 10-step plan.

  433. We need to go to Barnes & Noble to the

  434. self-help section and we need to check

  435. out a few books. We need We need this

  436. this and Moses is like, no.

  437. No, those things are helpful but no,

  438. what you need first is a sermon, a

  439. sermon designed to build your faith.

  440. In Romans chapter 10 verse 17,

    Romans 10:17

  441. God says, so faith comes from what is

  442. heard.

  443. And what is heard comes through

  444. the word of God, right?

  445. So so

  446. God is using this preacher to talk to

  447. the troops and he is taking his external

  448. word, the things that he has said, that

  449. he's spoken to existence, and he's

  450. pressing them inside of his people so

  451. that when the battle starts,

  452. they go in the direction of faith

  453. instead of the direction of fear.

  454. When the pressure mounts, they go toward

  455. faith and not fear. And the only way

  456. that happens is by internalizing the

  457. word of God. So, it's based on what you

  458. know about God and it's based on who you

  459. listen to. It's based on God's word,

  460. God's authority, God's voice, not the

  461. world's. It's also built through order.

  462. I found this part of the passage of

  463. scripture very interesting.

  464. Bravery is built through order. Let's

  465. look at verse five.

  466. It says the officers are to address the

  467. army.

  468. So, the preacher has spoken, now the

  469. officers are talking to the army.

  470. And they say, "Has any man built a new

  471. house and not dedicated it? Let him

  472. leave and return home. Otherwise, he may

  473. die in battle and another man dedicate

  474. it. Has any man planted a vineyard and

  475. not begun to enjoy its fruits? Let him

  476. leave and return home. Otherwise, he may

  477. die in battle and another man enjoy its

  478. fruit.

  479. Has any man become engaged to a woman

  480. and not married her? Let him leave and

  481. return home. Otherwise, he may die in

  482. battle and another man may marry her.

  483. God is addressing

  484. He's addressing the soldiers' homes,

  485. jobs, and marriages. He's talking about

  486. their spouse, their house,

  487. and their work.

  488. Wilkerson Jr. says, "Sometimes the most

  489. spiritual thing you can do is to get

  490. your house in order."

  491. Another commentator said, "Order can be

  492. the antidote for anxiety."

  493. Now, I was going to do a bit here about

  494. keeping your room clean for my daughter,

  495. but I'm going to I'm going to

  496. was abstain from that and focus on the

  497. scripture today. But in 1 Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 14:33

  498. chapter 14 verse 33, it says, "Since God

  499. is not a god of disorder, but a god of

  500. peace. So in God's mind, what's the

  501. opposite of disorder? It's peace. So

  502. order equals peace. And peace is not the

  503. absence of problems, peace is the

  504. presence of God in the problems, and the

  505. presence of God brings order to the

  506. problem. You've heard the classic line

  507. maybe that all the water in the ocean

  508. can't sink a ship until it gets inside

  509. the ship, right? So the easiest way for

  510. the enemy to sink your ship is to cause

  511. disorder in your home, your marriage,

  512. and your workplace.

  513. Cuz the truth is, if your house

  514. is in chaos, then you're going to go

  515. into the battle wounded.

  516. And and if your marriage is in chaos,

  517. then you're going to go into the battle

  518. wounded. And if your professional life

  519. is in chaos, you're going to go into the

  520. battle already wounded.

  521. So Jesus says, here's what you do. You

  522. order your life around important things

  523. like this in Matthew 6:33.

    Matthew 6:33

  524. But seek first the kingdom of God. And

  525. his righteousness, and all these things

  526. that he previously talked about will be

  527. be provided for you. So people get

  528. caught up in the all these things. They

  529. get caught up in chasing the all these

  530. things, and they miss the part where you

  531. start with the seek first. You start

  532. with the kingdom of God.

  533. Everything in scripture is designed to

  534. provide order for your life. Tithing is

  535. all about order. It's all about ordering

  536. your finances around what God wants.

  537. Sabbath is all about order. It's about

  538. taking a day of rest and coming together

  539. as a faith family and worshipping God to

  540. provide order in your week. Prayer is

  541. all about order. You're not telling God

  542. what to do. He's not a cosmic vending

  543. machine. What you're doing is you're

  544. ordering your will with his will. You're

  545. aligning things so that life goes

  546. smoothly.

  547. So the Bible lays out a very simple

  548. order of importance for us. Number one

  549. is God. Everything that we do should be

  550. revolving around what God wants us to

  551. do.

  552. And then under that

  553. comes your spouse, your children, your

  554. church, and your community. All things

  555. that are important, but this is the

  556. order that God lined them up in. So, you

  557. care primarily about God.

  558. And then, if you're married, your spouse

  559. is next.

  560. If you have children, your children are

  561. next.

  562. If you have a church that you're a part

  563. of of what you do, your church is next.

  564. And then your community. It doesn't mean

  565. that anything is any less important than

  566. the other thing, but what it means is if

  567. you keep things in that perspective, in

  568. that order, then you can start to

  569. develop bravery because the order is

  570. what develops faith. So, bravery grows

  571. where order exists.

  572. Then he gives us a warning in verse 8.

  573. Deuteronomy chapter 20 verse 8, "The

    Deuteronomy 20:8

  574. officers will continue to address the

  575. army and say, Is there any man who is

  576. afraid or cowardly? Let him leave and

  577. return home so that his brothers won't

  578. lose heart as he did."

  579. It's like cowards go home.

  580. Why? Because fear spreads faster than

  581. faith.

  582. We've all learned this. Fear spreads

  583. faster than faith. So, what do we need

  584. to do? What did they need to do? What do

  585. we need to do? We need to take a

  586. self-inventory.

  587. We got to ask, "Who are we hanging out

  588. with and who are our influencers?"

  589. Because if you find yourself struggling

  590. with the bad type of fear, with the

  591. anxiety, with the fear that leaves Jesus

  592. on the sideline, then let me assure you,

  593. you did not start that way as a

  594. Christian.

  595. Someone or something gave that to you.

  596. Because fear is contagious.

  597. You say, "Well, pastor, how do you

  598. know?" Well, 2 Timothy 1:7.

    2 Timothy 1:7

  599. For God has not given us a spirit of

  600. fear, but one of power, love, and sound

  601. judgment.

  602. So, if you have that unhealthy fear,

  603. that the anxiety that's not caused by

  604. your biology. By the way, biology can

  605. cause this stuff. We're not talking

  606. about that. We're talking about

  607. unhealthy fear, faithlessness,

  608. and then most likely someone passed that

  609. on to you. Most likely it's something

  610. your algorithm has infected you with,

  611. because anxiety is not a gift from God.

  612. So, sure, you can be timid, you can be

  613. shy, you can be an introvert. That's

  614. just part of your character, and you

  615. should praise God for it. He created you

  616. that way. So, if that's who you are, you

  617. can just continue to be that way.

  618. There's not a problem with that.

  619. But fear that comes from faithlessness,

  620. that is not the mark of a believer.

  621. So, one commentator said, "Proximity

  622. does not equate true partnership."

  623. Then he says, "Check your circle."

  624. Proximity does not equate true

  625. partnership, so check your circle, cuz

  626. there might be someone in your phone

  627. that you need to hit delete on. There

  628. might be something that you're

  629. subscribed to that you need to

  630. unsubscribe to.

  631. Check your circle. Make sure, because

  632. fear spreads faster than faith. And if

  633. you have someone in your life that is

  634. causing you to be fearful, that is not a

  635. gift from God. That's someone that you

  636. need to put some distance uh between.

  637. So, as we come to a close,

  638. I want to go back to Deuteronomy chapter

    Deuteronomy 20:4

  639. 20, verse 4.

  640. Most important scripture for today.

  641. Deuteronomy chapter 20, verse 4. It

    Deuteronomy 20:4

  642. says, "For the Lord your God is the one

  643. who goes with you to fight for you

  644. against your enemies to give you

  645. victory." So, sometimes God goes before

  646. you

  647. and takes care of stuff before you ever

  648. even get there. And then other times,

  649. you have to fight the battle, but you

  650. don't have to fight alone. You get to

  651. fight

  652. with God by your side.

  653. So, I don't know if you're a pro

  654. wrestling fan. Um if you're not, then

  655. you're probably smarter than me, okay?

  656. I'll give you that.

  657. But, if you are a pro wrestling fan, you

  658. know that the most exciting moment of

  659. any tag team match is this thing called

  660. the hot tag. All right? All my wrestling

  661. fans, by the way, it's so sad that

  662. you're being quiet right now.

  663. You're ashamed? That doesn't mean

  664. anything.

  665. Anyway, let me tell you about a hot tag.

  666. The hot tag is when the good guy is

  667. getting absolutely destroyed by the bad

  668. guys. He's getting punched, he's getting

  669. kicked, he's getting clotheslined, he's

  670. getting slammed, and the bad guys keep

  671. cutting him off from his corner. He

  672. can't get back to his partner. He'll go

  673. for the tag, and they'll pull him away

  674. at the last second, and the whole crowd

  675. is just waiting. They just want so badly

  676. for the good guy to be able to tag his

  677. partner. And then that that that moment

  678. comes where the the wrestler somehow

  679. escapes their grasp and gets over to his

  680. corner and reaches out his hand and

  681. slaps down the the hot tag. And when

  682. that hand connects, the crowd erupts,

  683. and the the fresh, powerful wrestler

  684. jumps into the ring and starts cleaning

  685. house with dropkicks and throwing people

  686. over the rope. It's just this awesome

  687. uh this awesome jolt of adrenaline. And

  688. And so, here's what happens, though. The

  689. The team that looked dominant before,

  690. just like 10 seconds earlier,

  691. is now on the defensive because suddenly

  692. they're defeated because this fresh,

  693. powerful powerhouse of a person has just

  694. entered the fight.

  695. And so, I say all that to show how big

  696. of a nerd I am, but also

  697. to show you that

  698. you're in a battle.

  699. And perhaps you've entered into this

  700. battle running low on faith. Perhaps

  701. you're weighed down by all the stuff

  702. that you brought into the battle with

  703. you. Perhaps you're you're already

  704. wounded in some way because your house

  705. is in disorder, your relationships are

  706. in disorder, your workplace is in

  707. disorder. [music]

  708. Perhaps you've come into the battle like

  709. that and you you feel like the the enemy

  710. has you cornered.

  711. I I just want to remind you that you're

  712. in a fight, but God is right there with

  713. you. And so, here's the definition of

  714. bravery. The definition of bravery is

  715. making the hot tag.

  716. Thank you, Larry.

  717. The definition of bravery is making

  718. [music]

  719. the hot tag. The definition of bravery

  720. is saying, "God, I can't fight this

  721. battle by myself anymore. God, I need

  722. your strength. God, I'm taking my hands

  723. off the wheel. God, I'm taking my hands

  724. off of the situation. I'm admitting that

  725. it's bigger than me and I'm going to tag

  726. you in so that you can go and deal with

  727. it and I'm going to rest over here in

  728. the corner and let you take care of

  729. stuff."

  730. Bravery is just saying, "God, I'm

  731. tagging you [music] in."
