  1. from Genesis 3:es

  2. 8-19 And they heard the sound of the

  3. Lord God walking in the garden in the

  4. cool of the day And the man and his wife

  5. hid themselves from the presence of the

  6. Lord God among the trees of the garden

  7. But the Lord God called the man and said

  8. to him "Where are you?" And he said "I

  9. heard the sound of you in the garden and

  10. I was

  11. afraid because I was naked and I hid

  12. myself." He said "Who told you that you

  13. were

  14. naked Have you eaten of the tree of

  15. which I commanded you not to eat?" The

  16. man said "The woman whom you gave to be

  17. with me she gave me fruit of the tree

  18. and I ate."

  19. Then the Lord God said to the woman

  20. "What is this that you have

  21. done?" The woman said "The serpent

  22. deceived me and I

  23. ate." The Lord God said to the serpent

  24. "Because you have done this cursed are

  25. you above all livestock and above all

  26. beasts of the field On your belly you

  27. shall go and dust you shall eat all the

  28. days of your life

  29. I will put enmity between you and the

  30. woman and between your offspring and her

  31. offspring He shall bruise your head and

  32. you shall bruise his

  33. heel To the woman he said I will surely

  34. multiply your pain in

  35. childbearing In pain you shall bring

  36. forth children Your desire shall be for

  37. your husband and he shall rule over

  38. you And to Adam he

  39. said because you have listened to the

  40. voice of your wife and have eaten of the

  41. tree of which I commanded you you shall

  42. not eat of

  43. it Cursed is the ground because of you

  44. In pain you shall eat of it all the days

  45. of your life Thorns and thistles it

  46. shall bring forth for you and you shall

  47. eat the plants of the field By the sweat

  48. of your face you shall eat bread till

  49. you return to the ground for out of it

  50. you were taken for you are dust and to

  51. dust you shall

  52. return The New Testament reading is from

  53. the Gospel of John 20:es 11-8

  54. But Mary stood weeping outside the

  55. tomb And as she wept she stooped to look

  56. into the tomb and she saw two angels in

  57. white sitting where the body of Jesus

  58. had lain one at the head and one at the

  59. feet They said to

  60. her,"Woman why are you weeping?"

  61. She said to them "They have taken away

  62. my Lord and I do not know where they

  63. have laid him." Having said this she

  64. turned around and saw Jesus standing But

  65. she did not know that it was Jesus Jesus

  66. said to her "Woman why are you weeping

  67. Whom are you seeking?"

  68. supposing him to be the gardener She

  69. said to him "Sir if you have carried him

  70. away tell me where you have laid him and

  71. I will take him away." Jesus said to her

  72. "Mary." She turned and said to him in

  73. Aramaic

  74. "Raboni," which means teacher Jesus said

  75. to her "Do not cling to me for I have

  76. not yet ascended to the Father but go to

  77. my brothers and say to them I am

  78. ascending to my Father and your Father

  79. to my God and your

  80. God." Mary Magdalene went and announced

  81. to the disciples "I have seen the

  82. Lord and that he had said these things

  83. to her This is the word of the Lord

  84. Thanks be to God

  85. Please be

  86. seated That threw me back Ross Standing

  87. while hearing the word That's great Old

  88. school Love

  89. it Well today I get to preach on Easter

  90. How wonderful is that And the text I

  91. chose to preach on I think is one of the

  92. most wonderful texts in the whole Bible

  93. And it's about this obscure figure

  94. called Mary

  95. Magdalene So let's get right into it

  96. Now 10 years ago an event happened that

  97. changed the world And some of you might

  98. remind it be

  99. reminded that came on the

  100. internet Do you remember this How many

  101. of you remember this

  102. Yeah Okay So I'm going to ask you a

  103. question So apparently you might see one

  104. way of looking at this and other people

  105. are going to see it differently So most

  106. pe not most people some people see it as

  107. yellow and or sorry white and gold Raise

  108. your hand if you see white and

  109. gold Don't be shy There's not a wrong

  110. question here So you see white and gold

  111. How many you see blue and black

  112. You see

  113. that We could do a church split just on

  114. that The crazy thing is this is one of

  115. those things that it took them two years

  116. to figure it out but was undeniable I

  117. have never seen anything but golden

  118. white That's I don't know why All I can

  119. see is golden white I've tried to see it

  120. in other ways And people who see it the

  121. other way look at me like me like I'm

  122. nuts And I am nuts but not because of

  123. that And this has become the concept of

  124. perception How can we perceive the same

  125. thing in two so completely different

  126. ways Well perception is what we bring to

  127. anything Perception is what is the part

  128. of disciplehip

  129. How we perceive things must change once

  130. we convert to

  131. Christianity We have to take the views

  132. we have and sometimes we're so sure of

  133. them but sometimes they're wrong or

  134. maybe

  135. incomplete This is a story about

  136. perception This is a story this little

  137. paricopy in John about how Mary

  138. Magdalene has to have a transfer of what

  139. she perceives and it's going to

  140. transform her life Let's

  141. pray Heavenly Father we thank you for

  142. your living word We pray that it will

  143. come alive in us You'll open our eyes

  144. and our ears in Jesus name

  145. Amen Before I jump right into the text

  146. itself you need to know something about

  147. how to read gospels It's going to help

  148. us a lot for this gospel They didn't

  149. read gospels as modern biographies

  150. Modern biographies tell you different

  151. events that happened They're usually

  152. focused on how people developed through

  153. childhood and then they end up with the

  154. events of the person that were

  155. spectacular and they give an

  156. interpretation of why it happened That's

  157. a modern biography and that's all it's

  158. about Ancient biographies which this was

  159. written in were written in a different

  160. way It was called Greek bios or

  161. biography And this style of writing

  162. which our gospels are just as dependent

  163. on as the other ones have a certain

  164. style that they're expecting rules as it

  165. were for you to look for And these rules

  166. are told to us at the beginning of every

  167. gospel narrative and they're trying to

  168. tell us something about Jesus but in

  169. light of who he really is So when you do

  170. Matthew's gospel it's all about the

  171. Exodus So when you start to read

  172. Matthew's gospel it starts with Exodus

  173. language You've got the killing of the

  174. innocents you've got them leaving Egypt

  175. you've got them going through the water

  176. the baptism 40 days in temptation then a

  177. sermon on a mount Does that sound

  178. familiar That's the Exodus story Does

  179. that mean none of this happened Of

  180. course not But the writer is trying to

  181. tell you Jesus is the Mosaic figure that

  182. is taking us to the New Exodus That's

  183. what they're trying to do I can go into

  184. each one I won't bore you But this

  185. particular text comes out of the Gospel

  186. of John Now there'll be extra points

  187. here or chocolate eggs for those who

  188. tell me how does the Gospel of John

  189. start What is the first sentence

  190. In the where have we heard that before

  191. the Genesis account

  192. right So what is he trying to say He's

  193. very clear What he's saying is whatever

  194. I'm writing here this is based on

  195. Genesis and the creation story And then

  196. again and again and I don't have the

  197. time to do it I wish I did I could show

  198. you how time and again he uses these

  199. images of the creation story But what is

  200. he ultimately

  201. doing His ultimate purpose is to show

  202. that Jesus is the God of creation

  203. that Jesus is undoing the curse of the

  204. creation And that's the theme of this

  205. whole thing Do you understand So let's

  206. go back to the creation story We got Eve

  207. bad Eve right Right Eating that

  208. apple And then you have simp Adam you

  209. know just like "Okay I'll eat it." I

  210. don't know who's worse

  211. Happy

  212. Yes Yes

  213. I saw a joke the other day is is why

  214. women take so long to pick where they

  215. want to eat It's cuz last time they did

  216. choose it was like the end for all of us

  217. Um I don't believe that That's

  218. terrible

  219. Jeez I'm not going to have new friends

  220. anymore

  221. Um but in this creation story so so

  222. there's something you stand out We get

  223. to the the resurrection narratives And

  224. in light of all this this is the only

  225. resurrection narrative where you only

  226. have one woman There's three in each of

  227. the others We have one Why

  228. one H How many were there in the garden

  229. with God and

  230. Adam One He was trying to make a point

  231. What do we know about Mary

  232. Magdalene You remember her backstory How

  233. many demons were in

  234. her Seven You know what the number seven

  235. means Doesn't mean like somebody that

  236. was there with a baseball

  237. clicker It means she was completely

  238. demonized She was the fruit of the fall

  239. Because what did it say that wily

  240. serpent would do but to bite our ankles

  241. right

  242. And so she is quite the character to

  243. choose because she's Eve and she's the

  244. product of the curse and the fall And

  245. she is Mary is a

  246. mess And we get into this story now And

  247. what we're looking for is what's going

  248. to happen in this tomb that's going to

  249. undo the curse That's what this

  250. section's about That's really what it's

  251. about Well first of all I think it's

  252. hilarious that Peter and John zip in

  253. there They see that the tomb's empty and

  254. they take off and they leave

  255. Mary outside the tomb They just like "Oh

  256. okay You just stay there." The most

  257. dangerous place she could be She's just

  258. left by

  259. herself Think about that for a

  260. second What did that say about what they

  261. thought of her at that time

  262. But Mary is now stood weeping outside

  263. the tomb And as she wept she stooped to

  264. look into the tomb You have to look down

  265. and up And she saw two angels in white

  266. sitting where the body of Jesus had lain

  267. One at the head and one at the feet Now

  268. the question is what's going on there

  269. She sees two angels addressed in white

  270. One in the head one in the feet What

  271. might John be wanting us to refer to

  272. here Why are they sitting None of these

  273. guys put these things in by chance These

  274. are brilliant authors Well I'm going to

  275. tell you what I think He's going back to

  276. the ark Remember the ark And you had the

  277. two angels over the mercy seat And the

  278. mercy seat is where the lamb's blood was

  279. put down And the angels came over And

  280. that lamb's blood was the forgiveness of

  281. sins And the angels are looking down on

  282. the mercy seat while they're sitting on

  283. each side of this platform And what is

  284. the lamb of God And where was his blood

  285. Right

  286. there

  287. Forgiveness This is the arc covenant

  288. language I'm convinced one at the head

  289. and one of the feet And they said to her

  290. woman

  291. gune was not a usual topic They don't

  292. give her first name but woman gune is

  293. the very same Greek word in the

  294. Septuagent in Genesis

  295. for

  296. Eve So I call her

  297. Eve Isn't that

  298. interesting Eve why are you

  299. weeping She doesn't have a clue what's

  300. going on Her perception is this world

  301. like it is People who got crucified died

  302. Powers and power

  303. reign Nothing's changed And that's why

  304. she says "They have taken away my Lord."

  305. This word Lord doesn't mean the Lord but

  306. rather my Lord which would be my

  307. commander And I do not know where they

  308. have laid him That's the only way she

  309. can think She needs a conversion She

  310. needs her perception to

  311. change And that's why they ask her the

  312. question They know why she weeps But

  313. what they're trying to do is get her to

  314. think about what is she what it is she

  315. believes So before so that she can

  316. change her view to

  317. truth Having said this she turned around

  318. and saw Jesus standing right But she did

  319. not know that it was Jesus That's pretty

  320. normal resurrection Jesus said to

  321. her

  322. "Eve why are you weeping?" Two of them

  323. said "The angels and him." Well by the

  324. way here's a little trick for you When

  325. something is said twice in a little

  326. story like this the writer's telling you

  327. "Pay

  328. attention." This is the

  329. point Why are you

  330. weeping And then he adds in "Whom are

  331. you seeking?" And that's the big

  332. question for us right now Who's she

  333. seeking A dead

  334. Jesus a human being that she followed

  335. That's what she's seeking She's not

  336. seeking

  337. resurrection She's not seeking new life

  338. She's seeking the dead body She just

  339. said

  340. that Supposing him to be the gardener

  341. Now this is

  342. interesting Who was the gardener in the

  343. creation

  344. story

  345. Adam She sees him as Adam What I mean by

  346. that is this isn't the divine son of God

  347. in her eyes supposeding him to be the

  348. gardener The gardener in the Old

  349. Testament what did he do Who took care

  350. of the

  351. earth Adam How many gardeners do you

  352. think hang around

  353. tombs Do you see this is a mention it

  354. this way She supposes him to be the

  355. gardener but the writer wants you to

  356. understand that she can't see him for

  357. who he is She can only see him through

  358. the fallen window of creation He's just

  359. human to her He's just

  360. Adam Supposing him to be the gardener

  361. she said to him "Sir if you have carried

  362. him away tell me a where you have laid

  363. him and I will take him away." She still

  364. sees death She can only see the world

  365. through Adam She can only see the world

  366. the way it

  367. is There is no hope

  368. And then we have the

  369. moment Now you remember earlier in John

  370. he says that when I call out the names

  371. of those who are to follow me they will

  372. hear their name and rejoice Remember

  373. that in John Well Jesus says to her he's

  374. not calling her Eve anymore cuz the

  375. situation's changed It's no longer just

  376. generic woman He says

  377. "Mary." She turned and said to him in

  378. Aramaic she still doesn't get it She

  379. calls him Raboni Rabbi

  380. teacher she still doesn't get

  381. it Okay But she

  382. will And that's why Jesus says to her

  383. "Do not cling on to me." There's some

  384. disputation about what this means I'm

  385. personally convinced that the problem is

  386. her perception She can't cling on to

  387. Raboni

  388. Jesus She can't cling on to human Jesus

  389. This has to let go She must be

  390. converted She must see things as they've

  391. changed Do not cling on to me for I've

  392. not yet ascended to the father That's

  393. where he becomes king and lord of the

  394. universe But go to my brothers and say

  395. to them I am ascending to my father And

  396. then he does something

  397. incredible In the fall humanity no

  398. longer had that relationship with God

  399. We were no longer in that intimate

  400. relationship Sometimes God the father

  401. would call Israel his son but Israel was

  402. never

  403. faithful But here he changes the whole

  404. business And this is the whole change I

  405. am ascending to my father and your

  406. father That's what's got to change

  407. postresurrection This is no longer angry

  408. God that's kicked you out This is God

  409. your father who's adopted you in because

  410. of

  411. this That's

  412. incredible To my God and to your God And

  413. that separation in the garden has been

  414. undone Do you see

  415. it Now our God is your God My God is

  416. your God Everything has been reconciled

  417. because of this

  418. action Now the question is is she going

  419. to get

  420. it Oh Mary Magdalene went and announced

  421. to the disciples and this is an

  422. incredible qu thing She says "I have

  423. seen." Notice it doesn't say my Lord it

  424. says the Lord Do you see that Well if

  425. you were here at Ricky Watt's thing you

  426. have it in your head Lord when it's the

  427. Lord means kios in Greek or Yahweh in

  428. Hebrew Who is Yahweh in

  429. Hebrew It's the name of

  430. God No she went from seeing him as just

  431. a mere

  432. gardener to seeing him as

  433. God Isn't that something She has

  434. converted Eve has been healed The

  435. relationship's been sent right And now

  436. she's being sent out to the other Adams

  437. to begin this story that it's been set

  438. right and that he had said these things

  439. to her What an incredible thing What an

  440. incredible story Not only that she's now

  441. given the role of priest again You had

  442. to be in my Genesis story but before the

  443. fall the woman and man were both kings

  444. and priests and they lost it all Here

  445. she's given a priestly act because she's

  446. now interceding for her

  447. brothers I don't know if I'd do a whole

  448. theology out of this text on women in

  449. ministry which I believe in but I will

  450. tell you something This

  451. changed No one had women in the ancient

  452. world doing anything like that

  453. This is an incredible story about an

  454. incredibly broken woman who's now become

  455. the apostle the sentout one with this

  456. story So great So what for

  457. us Well here's the thing about Easter A

  458. lot of us come in and we think it's a

  459. nice thing We we talk about eggs Maybe

  460. maybe we talk about a resurrected tomb

  461. Maybe we talk about Jesus and we say

  462. nice platitudes But I wonder if we need

  463. to have our eyes open to what this

  464. really

  465. means Maybe we need our perception

  466. changed

  467. ourselves I'm preaching Ephesians right

  468. now and this is not a plug but if you

  469. want to

  470. watch and I'm prepping for next

  471. week And this is his prayer Listen to

  472. his prayer to the little church in

  473. Ephesus That the God of our Lord Jesus

  474. Christ the Father of glory may give unto

  475. you the spirit of wisdom and revelation

  476. in knowledge of

  477. him Now here's my question for you Why

  478. would Paul pray that to a church that

  479. already

  480. believes Because partly we don't get it

  481. And we need to get it more and more Do

  482. you see

  483. You know when you believed you didn't

  484. one day just wake up and go I figured

  485. out

  486. everything The truth is all of us are

  487. very limited in what we understand And

  488. we need to hear again and again who is

  489. this Jesus And then baby we will be

  490. celebrating Easter like we

  491. should cuz it isn't just a super nice

  492. guy or a good teacher In fact that's

  493. kind of offensive isn't it

  494. I love I have to always read this every

  495. year just once a year It's CS Lewis and

  496. I can't read it because it's way too

  497. small and that wasn't of great idea I'm

  498. going to do my

  499. best A man who was merely man and said

  500. the sort of things Jesus said would not

  501. be a great moral teacher He would be

  502. either a lunatic on the level with a man

  503. who says he is a poached egg or else he

  504. would be the devil of hell You must make

  505. up your choice Either this man was and

  506. is the son of God or else a madman or

  507. something

  508. worse You can shut him up for a fool You

  509. can spit at him and kill him as a demon

  510. Or you can fall at his feet and call him

  511. Lord and God But let us not come with

  512. any patronizing nonsense about him being

  513. a great human teacher He has not left

  514. that open to us

  515. Amen

  516. So what has he left

  517. us First

  518. thing he's a savior Did you hear what I

  519. just said He's the savior Not a

  520. savior This is going to offend people

  521. but there is no other way to the father

  522. except through Jesus Christ Amen He is

  523. the one true savior and it is only

  524. through him that we find because he's

  525. the only God who died on a

  526. cross And I'm not meaning to offend

  527. anyone but in our multicultural area we

  528. don't want to offend at all And then

  529. people tell me well you say he's uh he's

  530. the only savior Emry it comes across

  531. arrogant I'm not the savior Why is it

  532. arrogant

  533. Yes if I was saying Emry is a savior

  534. first of all leave and

  535. then we got a problem But I'm not saying

  536. that I'm saying I am just like everyone

  537. else And thank God I have a God who

  538. would save But we don't need to go

  539. looking everywhere else because this is

  540. the only one that I'm aware of who came

  541. out of a

  542. tomb I'm going to get old BB Warfield

  543. This is getting old school 19th century

  544. Here we go We have but one savior and

  545. that one savior is Jesus Christ our Lord

  546. Nothing that we are and nothing that we

  547. can do enters into the slightest measure

  548. into the ground of all acceptance with

  549. God Jesus did it all My friends you can

  550. get confused by all these religions I'm

  551. telling you right now if you're sitting

  552. here Jesus Christ is Lord and he is the

  553. Savior and he's the one And if God has

  554. chosen you be thankful and go and share

  555. it with others because it is the way

  556. And you're not going to hear that in

  557. every church this week That's right But

  558. I tell you it's a truth

  559. That's the first thing we need to know

  560. about

  561. Jesus But the second thing he's also our

  562. priest This is something we forget Not

  563. only is Jesus our savior he's

  564. continuously ministering to us as the

  565. priest He ascends into

  566. heaven and he

  567. intercedes for us all the time He's our

  568. high priest He's the one we make

  569. confession

  570. to Dedric Bonhaofer said "If Jesus

  571. Christ is not true God how could he help

  572. us If he is not true man how could he

  573. help us He is in the business of helping

  574. us and we still need that help."

  575. One of the things he does is he stands

  576. for humanity before God interceding He

  577. is our priest He is our friend and he's

  578. our savior And right now he's living and

  579. interceding for this church and your

  580. church and all the

  581. churches He's a living God He didn't do

  582. it once and head away He's actively

  583. ministering for

  584. us that gets lost so much that he is

  585. that kind of priest and thus open the

  586. doors to the heavenly throne room and

  587. come boldly in because our priest

  588. already died for

  589. us How many of us who when we're doing

  590. bad and having bad days think God

  591. doesn't like me that very moment he is

  592. praying for

  593. you the great Carl Bart

  594. thus is this oneness Jesus Christ is the

  595. mediator the reconciler between God and

  596. man thus he comes forward to man on

  597. behalf of God calling for an awakening

  598. faith love and hope and to God on behalf

  599. of man representing man making

  600. satisfaction and interceding Thus he

  601. attests and guarantees to God's free

  602. grace and at the same time attests and

  603. guarantees to God man's free

  604. gratitude He is in between God and us

  605. and he is right now interceding for us

  606. And if you're worried about someone in

  607. your life or someone who's walking away

  608. or not living the life he is praying for

  609. them That's fantastic news

  610. He's a better priest than I

  611. am Not that I'm a

  612. priest He's a better priest than any of

  613. us And that's who he

  614. is And then the next one which gets

  615. people even

  616. more in angst Jesus is

  617. king The Bible pointed that Messiah

  618. would one time and have all the

  619. governments on the shoulder Right You

  620. read that that one day this Messiah

  621. would come and he would be lord over

  622. everything Well the New Testament

  623. writers take it even for further than

  624. the governances on their story They say

  625. all the heavens and earth are under him

  626. He is in

  627. authority In other words we're

  628. not And everything else that you see in

  629. our political world with people trying

  630. to take authority sometimes arrogantly

  631. is all an illusion they're living by

  632. The truth is there's only one king and

  633. he is in heaven and he's in charge So if

  634. you like Jesus you're going to like the

  635. king of the

  636. universe Now you're saying "Emrie I

  637. don't know I see Trudeau I see Carney I

  638. I'm not allowed to use American

  639. politicians Get people too

  640. upset whoever I can never say the con

  641. conservative guy whatever his name

  642. is they all biblically are kind of just

  643. like ah those guys are there just to

  644. keep the order for a little bit but we

  645. have a real king that's really what it

  646. says we have he is a true

  647. king of course most people don't like

  648. that I I love this quote by Timothy

  649. Keller most people want Jesus as a

  650. consultant rather than a king and he

  651. does not come that

  652. way Right Most of us don't like the idea

  653. that he's the king and he's got rules

  654. and values cuz we want him to satisfy

  655. our deep passions whatever they

  656. be Whole churches this Sunday are all

  657. going to be preaching about how Jesus is

  658. so nice He's going to meet your needs My

  659. friend Jesus and me I No American accent

  660. Don't do

  661. that It doesn't come that way He is the

  662. king of heaven and earth He is in charge

  663. I remember one time when I realized how

  664. angry this makes people This is probably

  665. triggers people more than anything I was

  666. doing a funeral good old guy and he had

  667. just come to faith in our church and

  668. then he died And his wife was all fired

  669. up She was a new Christian She hadn't

  670. been beat up yet And she says to me

  671. "Emmyry you go get them." And I said

  672. "What are you talking about All his

  673. friends are going to come None of them

  674. believe You go get them."

  675. And I'm like I don't want to get beat up

  676. Like so I got to the funeral I prayed

  677. about how do I get them I don't How do

  678. you get them None of these people

  679. believe And I had a a casket By the way

  680. having a casket at a funeral is way

  681. easier to preach just if you want to

  682. know And I walked down and I What was

  683. his name And do you

  684. remember Sid Let's call him Sid And I

  685. went down and I said "Here's Sid And I

  686. want you guys to

  687. know that here's the amazing truth Jesus

  688. Christ rose from the dead And one day

  689. Sid's going to come back from the grave

  690. And here's the best part It's going to

  691. happen whether you believe it's true or

  692. not I had one guy call me some names

  693. that I can't say in church on the way

  694. out because I didn't attest to their

  695. sovereignty I attested to his Well let

  696. me tell you something ladies and

  697. gentlemen He is in charge He is the king

  698. And he runs everything And it everything

  699. else is an illusion That's good news

  700. folks This is reformed 101 We trust in a

  701. God who's in charge not a fickle God who

  702. changes every

  703. day Get old get old RC on this one If

  704. God is the creator of the entire

  705. universe then it must follow that he is

  706. the Lord of the universe No part of the

  707. world is outside of his lordship That

  708. means that no part of my life must be

  709. outside of his lordship

  710. Amen

  711. Finally and most

  712. importantly Jesus is

  713. Lord The

  714. Lord And this is something that I don't

  715. think Christians always get enough If

  716. you see Jesus you see

  717. God Okay Jesus is God It's mysterious

  718. It's trinitarian But if you don't like

  719. Jesus you're not going to like God But

  720. if you like Jesus you're going to like

  721. God And he is king and he is savior And

  722. he is amazing And it is essential that

  723. we start to see Jesus for who he really

  724. is He is the one who revealed God to us

  725. That's what he's doing to Mary That's

  726. what he's trying to get Mary to see to

  727. change her perspective So it changes her

  728. life Because I'll tell you something if

  729. you really start believing if you start

  730. meditating on the fact that he is your

  731. savior that he is your priest that he is

  732. your king and that he's God you will

  733. change because the things of this world

  734. will not eat at you like they have

  735. You will start seeing things in a better

  736. light because he's in charge and you'll

  737. trust in him more and you'll praise him

  738. more and you'll pray to him

  739. more That's what that empty tomb showed

  740. us

  741. guys J Sanders Oswald Sanders said "The

  742. deity of Christ is the key doctrine of

  743. scriptures Reject it and the Bible

  744. becomes a jumble of words without any

  745. unifying theme Accept it and the Bible

  746. becomes an intelligible and ordered

  747. revelation of God in the person of Jesus

  748. Christ So our Lord and Savior who stood

  749. in front of Mary that day resurrected

  750. forever is also our savior He has died

  751. for your sins You are you are saved

  752. folks

  753. Do you believe You're

  754. saved He's also our priest He intercedes

  755. every day for us because he's ascended

  756. to heaven He's praying for

  757. you for your family And the thing you

  758. think's impossible he's already praying

  759. for

  760. it He's also the

  761. king He's in charge of whatever happens

  762. in this world And boy is that good news

  763. Especially if you don't like the

  764. politician in power at a certain

  765. time He doesn't win whoever that person

  766. is Jesus has already

  767. won And finally he is your

  768. God And if Jesus is right here he is

  769. your God now and your

  770. father You know I go back to that dress

  771. took him two years to figure out how

  772. come people got it

  773. wrong And here's what it was It was 100%

  774. perception If you

  775. believed that the light that there was

  776. more light than not in your brain you

  777. would look at the middle one which is

  778. golden white Do you see that

  779. If you believed it was in the

  780. shadows you would get the darker one and

  781. it would look blue and

  782. black And the original is there

  783. too Here's what God's doing with Mary

  784. and with

  785. us He's giving us perception by his

  786. spirit so we can see the truth what

  787. color it really is and he's going to

  788. pour his light upon it And the only

  789. question is will we let

  790. him Will we let him let us know who he

  791. is Cuz if we do we will be a different

  792. people And we will know him as

  793. savior as priest as king and as God And

  794. that'll change everything including the

  795. passion we worship and the lives we

  796. live Let's

  797. pray Heavenly Father we thank you for

  798. your amazing grace to us

  799. We ask you to open our

  800. eyes Bring the life and the truth of

  801. this

  802. Easter to

  803. light Help us to leave and ponder the

  804. fact you are our savior our priest our

  805. king and our lord

  806. When we're struggling in a bit when life

  807. hits us again we ask you to remind us of

  808. these

  809. things Remind us of these truths Give us

  810. hearts of faith that can believe it And

  811. then let us walk with

  812. courage facing whatever it

  813. is in Jesus' name Amen

  814. Good for you to stand and
