  1. I thought scarcity was a situation, but now I found

  2. out it's a sensation. Because I found out that there

  3. can never be enough money to make you feel like

  4. you have enough. Until God within you becomes enough.

  5. It will never be.

  6. I thought enough people could compliment you, where you would

  7. get enough compliments where you.

  8. Would have confidence.

  9. But I found out that if Christ is not the

  10. cornerstone of your core concept of yourself and your character,

  11. it'll never be enough. But now, when He speaks over

  12. my life, who I am in him and what I

  13. have because of him, there is no shortage in this

  14. world that can disconnect me from my supply.

  15. You hear what I apprec it to you. It's enough.

  16. And the disciples are going to learn this.

  17. And the first thing that the disciples had to do

  18. that we must do if we are to receive what

  19. God has promised to us.

  20. Because God's promises are optional.

  21. Thought they were promises, they are, but the promise is

  22. always attached to a principle, and you cannot separate the

  23. promise from a process that creates it. So he promises peace,

  24. but the process of peace is keep.

  25. Your mind stayed on me.

  26. He will keep you in perfect peace if you keep

  27. your mind stayed on him.

  28. You can't fill your.

  29. Head with Facebook, and then ask God to cancel out

  30. the empty calories of ignorant opinions and provide you with supernatural, celestial,

  31. extraterrestrial peace.

  32. Piece is produced by a.

  33. Process, and so it's provision, and both are in the passage.

  34. But the first thing we must do to receive all

  35. that God has will to supply is to do what

  36. many of you are doing, especially in the first few

  37. rows today lean In.

  38. Lean In, I.

  39. Mentioned that this miracle is recorded in all four gospels.

  40. It seems to be an insignificant miracle to record in

  41. all four gospels. I don't mean that it's not cool.

  42. It's very cool, very impressive, very entertaining.

  43. But to choose one miracle.

  44. To record across Matthew's gospel his record, and Mark's gospel

  45. his record, and Luke's Gospel his record, and then John

  46. wants to talk about it too. When we see people

  47. getting up off of stretchers, when Jesus walks through the street,

  48. and that's not in all four gospels.

  49. We see little girls being raised from the dead.

  50. Even Lazarus didn't make all four gospels, but this little

  51. boy did.

  52. With some barley bread.

  53. Barley bread, the cheapest bread available in the day. This

  54. is not a yeast roll, This is not a cheese biscuit,

  55. This is not.

  56. Even pumper nickel.

  57. And yet it's recorded in all four Gospels, which is

  58. fortunate because John leaves something out that I need to

  59. know about the situation that created the provision. Okay, and

  60. what John says is verse one. Sometime after this, Jesus

  61. crossed to the far shore, like it was a good

  62. time for a retreat and a good time for a buffet.

  63. But it wasn't, because the other writers tell us that John,

  64. the Baptist, who had been the forerunner of the message

  65. of Jesus Christ, the one who prepared the way for

  66. the Lord, had just had his head taken off by

  67. a king who didn't want to hear the truth. On

  68. the heels of this news, in an effort to get

  69. away and regroup with the disciples, who would have no

  70. doubt been confused by this turn of events, Jesus is

  71. met by a crowd. Now every mother of a three

  72. year old can relate to.

  73. The time when you finally.

  74. Get five minutes for a shower and hear somebody banging

  75. on the door of the shower.

  76. This is the situation for Jesus.

  77. He is finally on the boat and he gets up

  78. to situate, and he sits down to tell his disciples whatever.

  79. He wants to tell him, and here come people. Write

  80. it down.

  81. Your greatest opportunities will come at the most inconvenient times.

  82. You won't be in a good mood, you won't feel ready,

  83. you won't have an extra fifteen thousand dollars laying around

  84. and no kids going to college.

  85. Uh uh.

  86. God is going to show up in a time of

  87. shortage to see do you really trust me or do

  88. you trust stuff?

  89. That's the question.

  90. And the disciples first instinct was a pretty logical one.

  91. It's Jesus.

  92. Jesus is irrational, and Jesus will just teach people all

  93. day long.

  94. I mean, he just who needs to be healed? I

  95. got all day. I'm eternal.

  96. But the disciples, it was like, hey, man, probably they

  97. should eat. And Matthew records it. He said that the

  98. disciples came to Jesus with the suggestion send the crowds away. Okay,

  99. there is always a temptation to send away the very

  100. thing that God sent to supply you with the very

  101. thing you prayed for.

  102. Remember, they followed him.

  103. Because they wanted to make a difference. Now here comes

  104. a chance to make a difference.

  105. And they do this because they were operating by this.

  106. They were operating by this, not by this send them away.

  107. If they had sent the crowds away, not only would

  108. this miracle not have occurred.

  109. But they wouldn't have had lunch. Can I tell you

  110. how I know that.

  111. Because it was a little boy's lunch that ended up

  112. feeding the multitude.

  113. Not Peter's. Peter didn't pack a sandwich. Why are you

  114. pointing that out?

  115. Because the very provision was in the inconvenience, you see it.

  116. It was what they wanted to go away, that was

  117. carrying what they needed that they signed up for in.

  118. The first place.

  119. And so when you come to church, there are certain

  120. things that the preacher will say that you will lean

  121. into because your neighbor needs to hear that, because you've

  122. been trying to tell your husband, and would you please

  123. listen to Pastor Steven.

  124. He's saying some important stuff right now, and you lean

  125. in to that.

  126. Can I tell you the word that you need the

  127. most in your life is the one that you resist

  128. at first.

  129. That one that makes you cross your arms.

  130. And look at me like you think you're Connor McGregor.

  131. That word, that's the one you need to lean into.

  132. The one that makes you uncomfortable, the one that makes

  133. the one that makes something inside of you conflict with

  134. something else inside of you.

  135. That's the tension that produces growth.

  136. That's the one, the one, the one that challenges your

  137. comfort zone.

  138. That's the one that's the one to lean into.

  139. Even if you got to lean in with crossed eyes,

  140. even if you got to lean in with sweating palms.

  141. It is the word that God brings to.

  142. You that you most fiercely resist at first, that often

  143. releases the resource that you need the most.
